“You’re taking me so well,” he cooed as you slowly eased yourself along his length. The pleasure was more than enough to send you reeling as you grinded down on top of his lap.
“I always do,” you hummed, setting a slow pace as you savored the feeling of him filling you up. “Don’t I, Fíli?”
He looked at you with half-lidded eyes as he watched you take all of him, smiling when you wrapped one of your hands in his hair to anchor yourself. “Fuck, ghivashel…”
His eyes rolled back for a moment from the feeling of your cunt sucking him in, a mixture of your arousal and his pre-cum already making a mess where you two were connected.
With a playful smirk, you positioned his head to face you dead on. “Come on, now. Don’t grow quiet now, love. Tell me how good I’m making you feel, hm?”
He pulled you close, chuckling as he planted kisses along your neck. “You always look so gorgeous when you’re like this.” His hands found purchase on your sides, massaging circles along your hips as he watched you take him so deliciously.
Your pace quickened at the praise, deciding to reward him for his good behavior. “And?”
His breathing was becoming slightly uneven now and it was taking all of his willpower to not turn the tides and pound you into the mattress. Gods, the things you did to him were enough to drive him crazy.
“A-and,” he paused, a moan ripping out of him as you slammed your hips against his. “That’s it, right there. Please, don’t stop now. You’re perfect.”
His kisses were becoming more sloppy against your skin as he teased one of your nipples with his tongue, eliciting a moan out of you as you leaned into his touch. You tightened your grip on his hair and smiled at the way he melted into the palm of your hand. Just the sight of him desperately trying to keep it together was enough to make you even wetter as you continued bouncing on his cock.
“Ahh, please,” he whined, bucking his hips up into you, reaching deeper inside you as you buried your head in the crook of his neck, your moans and heavy breathing only warming his ears. “Y/N, it’s like you were made for me, for this… Nobody else can fuck me the way you do.”
A sharp cry came from you as a padded thumb found your clit, rubbing gently in tandem with his thrusts and your grinding. “Fuck, Fíli, you’re doing so good. Keep talking, please.”
Between his whining voice and the sheer pleasure of you riding him, you could tell you were getting close.
And between your dominating attitude and the way your pussy was drowning his cock, he was also very close to the brink.
But that dominating attitude was quickly whittling away with every thrust of your lover as he bullied his cock deeper inside you, going faster and harder as he sent you bouncing on his cock. Your hands moved to steady themselves on his shoulders, digging your nails and leaving red marks on his war-scarred skin just to anchor yourself as best as possible.
“You’re driving me wild, Y/N–” He was barely keeping himself coherent now as his thrusts sent you bouncing on his cock with such intensity that you were starting to go dumb. “Fuck, I’m getting close now.”
“Fíli, don’t stop,” you pleaded, biting into his shoulder now to keep yourself from melting into his violent pacing. “Come on now, we can hang in there a little longer, hm?”
He let out a guttural moan at your words, knowing it would be more fun if he complied.
“Anything for you, ghivashel,” he whined in between thrusts, trying his best to hold out. “Gods, you’re so warm, so tight. You’re so fucking perfect. I could fuck you like this forever–”
More babbling spewed from your lover’s lips as he lost himself in the overwhelming pleasure of your pussy pulsing around his length as you came.
Your grip on his shoulders tightened as his name was all you could scream, his thrusts slowing down enough for you to ride your high before quickly speeding back up so he could chase his own. Tears brewed in your eyes as the overstimulation was starting to hit you, feeling so sensitive that pain and pleasure seemed one and the same now. You bit his shoulder harder this time, knowing it would certainly leave a mark in the morning, and the next few thrusts led to him painting your walls white.
A mixture of him and you was beginning to leak out from where you were connected as the two of you could only swallow each other’s moans in the sloppiest kiss imaginable. His hands rubbing soothing circles into your back now as your own moved to massage his now tender shoulders.
“Shall we keep going?” You grinned, feeling him begin to grow hard again as you moved yourself against him.
“Give me just a moment to recover,” he breathed. “But absolutely.”

Misty Memories Cold
When you wake in Fíli’s bed with no recollection of anything after an accident in Mirkwood, he’s ready to risk anything, even his uncle’s wrath, to bring back what you had together.
Next >
Chapter One
Cold.
You’re cold. It’s dark. You’re falling. Someone reaches for you. Too late.
The water folds in around you. It floods your nose. It floods your ears. Your limbs don’t work. You can’t swim.
Muffled shouts. You open your mouth to cry back. It fills with water.
Choking.
Drowning.
Drowning.
Drowning drowning drowning dr–
You wake with a jolt, sitting up in bed.
Bed?
You pat the sheets around you. Yes, you’re definitely in a bed, not curled up on the leaf litter in Mirkwood.
“I guess it really was a dream,” you whisper, shoulders slumping. But as you run your fingers across the hem of the blanket, you frown. It doesn’t feel like the old quilt on your bed. It’s thicker, softer.
Something is wrong.
You look around the room as your eyes begin to adjust. There’s a fireplace across the room, the dying embers casting just enough light to let you make out the vague shapes of furniture in the darkness. The walls and floor are stone, adorned with plush rugs. The wind rattles the shutters outside the window, hidden behind thick curtains.
This is not your bedroom… and you are not alone. A dark figure stirs next to you beneath the covers. You scramble out of bed but find the floor farther away than expected. You land hard on your side. “Ow!”
You slap your hand over your mouth, but it’s too late. The figure sits up with a groan, rubbing at its face and leaning to peer over the edge of the bed at you. There’s no mistaking that mustache, those braids.
“Fíli? What… where are we?” And why are we in bed together?
Fíli blinks a few times to clear the sleep from his eyes. “What do you mean?” he asks hoarsely, his voice rough. He rolls out of bed and kneels in front of you. “We’re home. In Erebor? You know, the mountain? Big pile of rocks and snow? It’s rather hard to miss.” He raises an eyebrow, trying to coax a smile from you.
Instead, you scoot backwards, putting space between you and the prince as you process his words. “But we were just in Mirkwood,” you protest. “How did we get here?”
Fíli’s confusion turns to concern. “Y/N, that was a year ago.” He shifts closer and brushes a thumb over your cheek. “Are you feeling alright?”
You stiffen against his touch, heart in your throat. Ever the gentleman, he’s never touched you without permission before. But something about the way his palm cups your face feels familiar. “I don’t know,” you whisper, shaking your head. “All I remember is falling into the stream.”
“You don’t remember the elves? Fighting for the mountain? All the time we spent together?” He uncovers a long braid in your hair. “Our wedding?”
“Wedding?!” It’s true, you’ve harbored feelings for Fíli since the two of you met in Bag End. You’d admired him in the book and movies, and to see him for real… it did something to you. But you never thought he would return your affections—how could he? You’re a plain, young woman from another world, and he’s a handsome prince, heir to the throne.
Fíli searches your face, expression unreadable. Finally, he stands, offering you his hand. “Come on.”
You take it hesitantly. His fingers lace through yours, and he helps you to your feet. Strangely, you find that instead of being taller than the dwarf, you’re just level with his chin. But before you can comment on this, Fíli pulls you out the door and down a narrow hallway.
He leads you to a large sitting room, taking you to the sofa next to yet another fireplace. “Wait here,” he orders softly. “I’ll fetch Thorin.”
“Thorin’s alive?” you breathe. “What about Kíli?”
“Kíli would like to know what the pair of you are doing up and chattering in the middle of the night,” replies a voice from behind you. The youngest Durin leans against the wall with his arms crossed, hair still tousled from sleep.
You tip back your head and close your eyes. “They did it,” you sigh in relief. “Oh, thank God, they did it.”
Kíli raises an eyebrow. “What’s going on?”
Fíli pinches the bridge of his nose. “Let me get Thorin first. I would rather not explain this twice.”

“Again.” Thorin paces in front of the fire.
You rub your forehead. “I told you, that’s it,” you groan. “I fell in the water and woke up here.”
Kíli shakes his head. “It makes no sense.”
“No shit, Sherlock.”
Thorin flashes you a warning look.
“It was no ordinary stream,” Fíli points out. He sits with you on the couch, his hand resting on top of yours. Every once in a while, he gives it a reassuring squeeze. “It had some sort of foul magic. She wouldn’t wake for days.”
“If it’s magic that we’re dealing with,” you glance at Thorin warily before continuing, “it might be a good idea to talk with the elves.”
“Absolutely not,” Thorin snaps. His lip curls in disgust. “I refuse to invite them to interfere in our private matters.”
Kíli’s eyes brighten. “What about Gandalf, then? Where would we find him?”
They all look to you. You close your eyes, teasing and tugging at the cobwebs that cloud the part of your mind where your Middle Earth knowledge is stored. “He’s… there’s no guarantee we even could find him. Gandalf doesn’t have a home, exactly. He wanders. They don’t call him the Grey Pilgrim for nothing.”
“So we don’t know where Gandalf is,” Fíli starts slowly, “but we do know where the elves are.”
“And Gandalf wasn’t in Mirkwood with us,” you add. “There’s no guarantee he even knows about the enchanted stream—but Thranduil definitely would.”
Thorin crosses his arms. “Out of the question.”
“Did you not make peace with Mirkwood?”
“Peace does not mean friendship,” Thorin retorts. His voice, raised in frustration, echoes off of the polished stone walls. Down another hallway, you hear a door slam. Thorin groans at the sound of approaching footsteps.
“And just what in Mahal’s name is everyone shouting about at this hour of night?”
A new dwarf steps into the firelight. In the dim light, she almost looks like a copy of Thorin. But as she approaches, you can see her features are softer, her eyes rounder, her beard thinner. And there’s no mistaking the Durin glare that she levels at Thorin, her blue eyes just as piercing as they are tired.
You glance at Fíli with uncertainty. He squeezes your hand and leans close to murmur in your ear. “It’s just Amad. Mother,” he translates when you don’t seem to understand.
Dís. You nod quickly.
Thorin looks at you, then back to his sister, standing with arms crossed and an eyebrow raised expectantly. As they exchange words in their rough native tongue, Dís’s expression of irritation turns to one of soft, motherly concern. She comes closer to you and gently brushes away a few strands of unruly hair from your face. “You must be tired, natha.”
“Daughter,” Fíli whispers.
“A bit,” you reply quietly, finding yourself suddenly shy with the full attention of a mother focused on you.
“Poor dove,” Dís tuts. She straightens up and pats you on the shoulder. “Fíli, take your lass back to bed. We will speak in the morning.” Thorin looks like he means to protest, but Dís silences him with an icy glare. Planting a kiss on the top of your head, she pushes Kíli and Thorin back down their opposite hallways. Fíli pats your hand and follows her quickly, his words in Khuzdûl fading as he gets further away.
Finally alone, you let out a long sigh. For the first time, you get the chance to look yourself over, to see what has changed. Your hair is longer, brushing the small of your back. When you run your fingers through it, you find braids styled to match Fíli’s. A dwarven marriage custom, perhaps? There’s a thin, gold band on your finger, too, lined with tiny sapphires that sparkle in the firelight. A little smile tugs at the corner of your mouth; at least you kept some piece of your own marriage customs.
And while Fíli has been bare-chested this whole time, you’re wearing a dark green shirt, no doubt one that used to be his. It’s long enough on you to serve as a nightgown. A blush rises on your face when you realize the deep v-neck exposes the dip between your breasts—and has been exposing it to everyone else this whole time.
“Amrâlimê?” Fíli’s voice from the hallway is soft. He pokes his head into the sitting room. “Aren’t you going to come to bed?”
You gnaw on your bottom lip, suddenly very interested in the fireplace. In anything that isn’t Fíli’s too-kind face. “Do you want me to?” you ask hesitantly.
It’s silent for a few seconds. Fíli sighs heavily and comes to kneel before you, taking your hands in his. “Y/N, you are my wife. Of course I want you to come to bed. It is our bed.” His eyes search yours, desperately looking for the light he knows should be there. “Do I not have your love?”
“I mean, sure,” you reply softly. Your voice is strained. “I just… I don’t understand how I have yours. You’re the crown prince, you’re perfect. And I’m just… me.”
“You are so much more than that,” Fíli murmurs. “You are everything to me.” He kisses your forehead and stands. Before you can say anything, you’re swept up in his arms. Startled, you instinctively wrap your arms around his neck to avoid falling, but he carries your smaller frame with ease.
You frown, remembering your observation from earlier. “Shouldn’t I be taller than you?”
“Ah. Well.” Fili’s chuckle makes his chest vibrate against your cheek. “That’s all that we thought the stream did. Make you properly sized.”
“Properly sized?” you repeat in disbelief. “You call this properly sized?”
“You complained about it endlessly,” Fíli continues. A playful smile tugs at his lips. “Until you realized how well you fit in my arms.”
You roll your eyes. “You’re very funny.”
“I’m also handsome, charming, brave…”
“Shut up.” You smack his shoulder lightly, but hide a smile as you tuck your head beneath his chin. Maybe you can get used to this.
But as he kicks open the door to his—your—room, and you see the bed with its rumpled covers, you tense.
“Y/N?” Fíli’s breath tickles your neck.
“It’s… just a lot, all at once,” you mumble.
He squeezes you, then lowers you gently to the bed. “I understand,” he murmurs.
“You really don’t, though.” Pent-up frustration simmers within you. “When’s the last time you fell into a stream, woke up, and found out a year had passed and you’re married?”
“Are you upset that we’re married?” Fíli asks, his face falling.
You feel a pang of guilt for snapping at him. This can’t be any easier for him. Running your hand through your tangled hair, you shake your head. “It feels like one moment, I was a girl with a crush, and then I wake up, and suddenly I’m a married woman. I’ve missed out on everything.”
“It’s in there, somewhere,” he whispers, stroking your cheek. You flinch away, your body unsure of how to react to his touch. Hurt flickers across his face, but he pulls back. “Can I fix your braids?” he asks. There’s desperation in his eyes.
Recognizing his need to touch you in whatever way he can, you nod slowly, and turn. The gentle, rhythmic tugging as he combs and re-braids your hair is hypnotic, and you find your eyelids drooping.
“There,” Fíli says, turning you back to him. He smiles sadly. “Beautiful as ever.”
Your heart aches. Whether it aches for him, the dwarf searching for his loving wife in the uncertain girl before him, or yourself, longing to be that loving wife, you do not know.
After a moment of hesitation, you lean in and reward him with a quick kiss on the cheek. His beard is prickly against your lips. “I’m tired,” you whisper when you draw back.
The kiss brings a real smile to his face, however small it may be. Fíli pulls back the covers and you wriggle underneath them. You settle into a dip worn down into the mattress from hundreds of nights before. Fíli slides into place behind you, his chest against your back. You stiffen slightly, but force yourself to relax.
“Is this alright?” His deep, quiet voice vibrates through your body.
You nod. He can have a little cuddle, as a treat. As an apology.
He takes that as a signal to test the limits further. You can tell he’s holding his breath as he drapes his arm over your waist. “Is this alright?”
“It’s cozy,” you mumble sleepily, letting the warmth of his body overwhelm you.
Fíli lets out his breath, pulling you tightly against him and nuzzling his face into your hair.
As you drift off, you do your best to pretend you don’t notice his quiet tears.
You began to stir, finding your face pressed into something warm and firm. As you tried to pull away to look around, you were met with resistance. You made a disgruntled noise.
“Y/N?!” Suddenly, a hand yanked your head backwards. Wide eyes searched your face frantically. You just barely registered who held you before he pulled you back in a crushing embrace. “I thought we’d lost you.”
“Fíli?” you mumbled, your voice muffled by his coat. “Can’t breathe.”
He released you, finally letting you get your bearings. The two of you were alone in a small, stone cell. Torchlight flickered just outside the wrought iron bars, casting a dim, orange light into your cell.
A shadow crossed over the door. “Oh, so she is alive. Here, then.” An apple landed on the ground in front of you, followed by a waterskin. “That’s the most you get until tomorrow. Make it last.” The shadow retreated, footsteps echoing down a long hallway.
Pieces began to slot into place in your mind. You nodded slowly. Mirkwood, elves, imprisonment. “How long have we been in here?”
“A few days at most, given how often they’ve brought food and water. But it’s hard to tell.” Fíli seemed distracted, eyes scanning your body. “How do you feel?”
You frowned and patted yourself up and down. “A bit sore, but I think I’m fine.” You untangled yourself from Fíli and tried to stand on shaky legs, your knees instantly failing beneath you.
Immediately, he jumped up and grabbed your waist from behind to steady you. “Y/N?” His voice was soft. “Y/N, please do not be alarmed when you turn around.”
“What?” You twisted in his grasp and looked up into his concerned face.
Up. You had to tilt your head up to meet his eyes. He was big. You tried to back away but the space was so narrow, you collided with the wall after just a single step. “You’re taller,” you stated, almost robotically. “But you’re a dwarf. You can’t be taller than me. I’m supposed to be the taller one. How did you get taller?”
“I did not get taller,” he corrected you. “You got smaller.”
You just stared at him blankly. Fíli sighed, gently taking hold of your arm and easing you back to the ground. He took the apple from the floor and placed it in your hand. “Eat,” he ordered quietly. “You haven’t had any food in days. It was hard enough to get water into you.”
Instead, you rolled it between your palms absentmindedly. “How long was I out?”
“Just over a week. We were trying to cross a stream, and you fell in.”
“Instead of Bombur,” you interjected.
Fíli raised an eyebrow. “If you say so. Glóin managed to snag you,” he continues, “and when he pulled you out, you were… well, smaller. But you wouldn’t wake up. You even slept through the spiders. I was so afraid that you were gone before I could tell you–” he broke off, his voice thick. He tore his eyes away from yours, a blush rising on his face.
“What?” You reached out and took hold of his chin, turning his face back to you. Yet his eyes still avoided you. You crawled closer, kneeling between his outstretched legs. Your traitorous heart pounded hopefully against your ribs. “Tell me what, Fee?”
He shook his head. “No, no, it’s foolish. I shouldn’t… you wouldn’t…” Finally, he looked back up at you. “I love you?” He phrased it as a question, his blue eyes filled with hesitation. It was strangely endearing, seeing the normally confident prince so bashful. Fíli lifted a cautious hand to your cheek, fingers just barely brushing your skin.
Surprise temporarily robbed you of your voice. Mistaking your silence for rejection, Fíli quickly pulled his hand away. Shame and hurt flashed across his face. “Forgive me,” he blurted out, ducking his head. “I should not burden you with feelings you can never return.” He pulled his legs back in and moved further into the shadowy recesses of the cell.
But you crawled after him, refusing to let him go that easily. “Fíli, why didn’t you say anything?” When he remained silent, you wound your fingers up in one of his braids and tugged, forcing him to turn his head towards you. “Why are you so sure that I can’t feel the same?”
A cautious spark of hope flared to life in his eyes. “Because you’re perfect, you’re beautiful,” he murmured. “You deserve so much more than I can give.”
You smiled, eyes tracing his face. The gold locks that framed it, the sky blue eyes, the flushed cheeks. And those soft, pink lips, parted ever so slightly as he awaited your next words.
But words were the furthest thing from your mind. Refusing to hold back any longer, you grabbed Fíli by the collar, lunging forward to claim his mouth.
His eyes widened, then fluttered shut as his hands grabbed at your waist. Fíli pulled you back into his lap and wrapped his arms around you, reaching up to comb through your tangled hair with his fingers.
A rock clanged against the bars of your cell. “Get a room!” came Kíli’s voice, echoing down the hall.
You broke away with a laugh. “This is a room!”
Kíli’s only response was a disgusted groan as Fíli grabbed at your face for more.

How the Dwarfs show PDA
Thorins company x gn!reader
Warnings: an insane amount of fluff, implied smut
Thorin
Tumblr media
Being the King of Erebor meant that he had a lot of responsibility on his plate. Even before the Dwarfs defeated Smaug and reclaimed Erebor, he wasn’t overly affectionate publicly; that didn’t change once he re-built his kingdom. Kissing is a no go, but instead he would just always have you hold onto his arm as you walked, or vise versa. But when you’re alone in your shared chambers, its like he can’t get enough of you. Thats when he always makes up for the lack of attention and affection that he can’t openly show like he wants to, but if he sees someone flirting with you then thats thrown out of the window; literally. He will pull you up onto his throne and make-out with you infront of everyone if he wants to… and he has… many times. But most of the time; not very into PDA.
Fíli
Tumblr media
Like his Uncle, he has a lot of responsibilities since he’s the heir to the throne. But he doesn’t let that stop him. Once he’s done with his daily duties as the prince of Erebor, he gives you his undivided attention and affection. He always makes sure you’re able to stretch your legs, so he usually like to take late night walks through the mines as you two attempt to not be seen by the guards. One time though you did get caught doing… something. But that’s a story for another day and time. Sometimes he will literally just slip away from the meetings to go and be with you but only if Kíli is there to cover for him. He doesn’t have a problem with showing you how much he adores and loves you, even if that means getting his head chewed off by Thorin for skipping his royal duties.
Kíli
Tumblr media
This man is literally the definition of PDA. He doesn’t have as many duties as his brother so he gets to spend his free time with you. He doesn’t care who watches you two as you walk through the halls of Erebor with his arm tucked tight around your shoulders; paired with a proud grin on his face that reads “yeah thats right they’re mine”. He doesn’t care if his Uncle scolds him for it, you’re his one. He tends to pepper kisses all over your face at random times, which inturn makes you incredibly flustered, sometimes his own brother has to pry him off of you. He’s just a lovey-dovey type of boyfriend and he is not afraid to show it to the whole Kingdom of Erebor.
Dwalin
Tumblr media
Not a fan of PDA at all. However, if he sense that you’re having an off day, or if he sees someone openly flirting with you…. well then it’s like he’s a whole new person. He’ll pull you into his chest as he rubs circles on your back, giving the person that was attempting to flirt with you a death glare and grinning when he watches them basically shit their pants and scramble away. If its the scenario where you’re having an off day he will find someone to cover for him most of the time with a threat before taking you back to your shared house as he gives you his undivided attention and affection. All in all; this man can quickly become the worlds biggest simp for you.
Bofur
Tumblr media
Like Kíli, he’s the definition of PDA. As soon as he gets home from work he’s all over you; literally. He will physically jump on top of you if you’re ignoring him, especially after a long day in the mines. Which usually leads to you forcing him to get up off of you so you can fix him a bath. Even when you’re doing that, his hands are wrapped around your waist as his chin rests on top of your head. In public it doesn’t change, his fingers are laced with yours and he’s constantly finding an excuse to kiss you. You have something on your lips? Kiss. You turn to look at him? Kiss. He wants your attention? Multiple kisses. He just adores showing you how much he loves and cherishes you, even during the journey to reclaim Erebor.

Translations:
Berzêl. (Sun of all suns (gold)
Abnâmul: Beautiful
─── ⋆⋅☼⋅⋆ ───
Fili
It was a frosty winter morning, the cold nipping at your nose as your breath fogged the air. It was early enough that the birds only just began singing.
The others were packing the last of the camp, talking quietly amongst themselves. You’d ask to help, but were politely rejected.
So, instead, you allowed yourself a moment of silent solitude. Strolling thru the wet and dewy forest, you stopped on the edge of the hillside; the sunrise was to die for.
Pinks and golds and purples painted across the sky, the sun just barely peeking above the horizon. A soft breeze littered the clearing as you took a deep clarifying breath.
A branch snapped behind you, breaking your serenity.
Instantly, your dagger was pulled from its sheath, already raising to attack. A hand, however, stopped your arm from behind, as a deep chuckle erupted from one’s chest.
“It is just me, no need for such violence.” Fili offered with amusement.
“Well say something next time, before my blade decides otherwise, by accident.” You snapped back with a sigh, turning to meet those icy blue eyes.
Said eyes were crinkled at the corners, dimples standing attention on each of the tanned cheeks.
“My apologies, Berzêl. I did not mean to startle you. I was just simply curious as to where you wandered off to.” Fili chucked again, his eyes shifting to the sunrise behind you.
Following his eyes, you turned halfway and laid your own upon the horizon once more, watching as the purples and pinks slowly faded to red and orange.
“I cannot remember the last time I actually watched the sun rise…” you said quietly, the tranquility returning to the clearing. “They’re so beautiful… masterpieces presented to all right before our very eyes.”
Fili watched you wonder at the sky with a warm smile. The morning sun slowly extended its golden rays through the morning fog, streaks of gold shining on your rosy cheeks and through your hair.
“Abnâmul…” He whispered quietly, his eyes never leaving your face.
“Huh? Did you say something?” You asked as you turned your head to him once more. Instead of speaking, however, he crept in close. Sliding his arm slowly and gentle across your back, he turned you so that you two were chest to chest.
You looked up into his pale eyes, confusion splaying across your features. Fili raised his other hand and brushed a lock of your (h/c) hair behind your ear, before coming to rest against your cheek.
Time nearly stopped in it’s place as he leaned down.
The kiss lasted no more than a few seconds, Fili pulling back just enough to look into your eyes, the tips of your noses still touching.
He was reading you; his expression tinged with worry — worry that maybe he should not have done that.
After a moments time, and after the initial shock wore off, a soft giggle escaped your lips.
Confusion slowly creeped its way across his face at your reaction, causing another giggle to escape.
Leaning up, you closed your eyes as you rubbed your nose alongside his. You practically felt the sigh of relief exhaled from his lungs. He returned the gesture, your noses slid slowly and intimately against one another.
This time, it was your lungs that released a sigh as you felt his lips press against your own once more.
Your hands found themselves wrapped around his neck, his earthy yet sweet smell intoxicating you as his own hands landed on your hips.
He pulled you in against his chest, his tongue swiping against your lips requesting access. Access you happily granted.
A battle began between tongues, a soft moan escaping your throat as you fought a losing battle.
Far too quickly, though, your lips parted.
The two of you retreated to your earlier stance, foreheads and noses against one another again; both of your eyes closed as you took in the moment.
Once more, a giggle made its way past your lips. Another. Fili happily returned the sound; the two of you high on endorphins.
The sun had made its way higher into the sky; the colors of a sunrise no more.
“We should get back to camp before they worry…” You whispered, your arms still wrapped around Fili’s neck.
“I agree.” Yet, neither of you moved.
Another kiss was shared. Then another. And another.
…The others could wait a bit longer.

Kili
The game of Chase
Word Count: 841
Your feet echoed across the stone as you ran as fast as your little legs could carry you. Your heart beat at rapid speed.
Another set of footsteps could be heard following quickly behind, though these footsteps were heavier — louder.
You squealed in surprise as you were grabbed from behind, being thrown over a broad shoulder.
“I got you!!” Cheered a loud, deep voice.
Your hands beat against said shoulders, struggling to escape the strong arms that kept you captive as you screamed once more.
One swift jab of your knee to your captivators stomach sent you tumbling off and landing with thump against the stone floor of the mountain.
A groan of pain rang through the air before they yelled “That’s cheating!”
“It’s only cheating if you’re a sore loser!” You returned back, a cocky smile painted your face and you huffed from exertion.
Quickly scrambling to your feet, you began the game of chase once more. However, you were too slow.
A strong hand reached out and grabbed yours before you could run away before shoving your back against the wall. Had a hand not strategically been placed behind your head, you would have surely been left with an ache.
“Kili! What gives!” You cried out, finding yourself trapped between his arms.
“I win.” Kili stated matter of factly as he heaved — out of breath from running for so long.
As the adrenaline slowed down, the realization of how close the two of you were, settled in.
Your breath hitched as you stared into his beautiful brown eyes. Hints of gold speckles mixed with warm amber.
You were not the only one who took notice of the close distance.
Kili’s eyes flickered to your lips before returning to your eyes. Slowly, ever so slowly, he leaned in.
Too slow.
Just as his lips ghosted your own, you tore out of his grip and down the hall with a giggle.
Kili visibly deflated for a moment before a devious smile plastered itself onto his face.
You turned, halfway down the hall to lock gazes with him, offering a big playful smile. “You…” he growled before taking off after you.
Another playful scream escaped as you fled towards the door you knew would lead outside. Pushing it open you attempted to slam it behind you, but you were too slow.
The wood creaked as Kili’s brute strength pushed against the other side. With one last shove, the door swung open, causing you to tumble backwards right onto your rump.
In an instant, Kili was on you. Pushing you backwards with arms on either side of your head, his thighs locking your own together.
Laughter rang loud and clear from the two of you, Kili’s a bit more devious, excitedly celebrating yet another victory.
A soft breeze rustled your messy (h/c) hair, bringing with it the soft sweet smell of spring.
You two had ended up in one of the lesser known royal gardens. One that scarcely had visitors. Your breath panted out harsh breaths as you struggled to catch your breath due to laughter.
As your laughter whittled away into giggles however, a gasp tore itself from your throat.
Soft and gentle lips found your own — Moving slowly and languidly. Releasing a euphoric sigh, you felt your own eyes slip closed, your hands finding dark brunette locks to reside in.
Kili kissed you deep and intimately, pushing you into the soft grass beneath you, taking in the smell of your sweet strawberry oil you often used on your hair after a bath.
A deep groan released itself from his chest as he deeper the kissed further, his tongue slipping between your lips.
Your hands tightened in his hair as his tongue plundered your mouth. Tearing himself from you, his mouth quickly moved to your jaw, kissing and sucking gentle down to your neck.
Sighs and moans filled the air as he kissed a rather sensitive spot right below your ear.
“Kili…” you tried, his name sounding a bit too breathless. “Kili.” You tried again.
With one last kiss against your sweet spot, he pulled himself from your neck, staring into your eyes.
Your breath hitched upon looking at him. His eyes were dilated, honey brown quickly turning nearly black.
Releasing his silky locks, your hands slid down to rest upon his shoulders. Locking eyes, you gave one last playful smirk, before shoving him to the side, rolling the both of you over so you were the one sitting in victory.
A victory he was very much willing to let you have.
His hands gripped your hips as your thighs made their home on each side of his. Leaning over him, it was your turn.
You kissed him once, twice. Your arms found their place beside his head, dropping to your elbows as your tongue fought for dominance.
Your victory however, did not come.
Kili gripped your hips, before grinding up against your own. Your back arched as you cried out.
Licking his lips, Kili smiled deviously. “I win.”

Home Is Where You Are | Fili x gn!reader
『••✎••』
↳ ❝ Hi can I request the prompt "It ain't home without you" with fili please? ❞
: ̗̀➛ It's your job to protect him and to keep him alive, but it isn't your job to worm your way into his heart.
: ̗̀➛ brief mentions of war and violence
•───────────────★•♛•★──────────────•
It was a lonely and cold night, and unable to get warm enough in your spot at the edge of the camp, you settled for instead heading over to the small fire where Fili was sat; in the moonlight, his pretty blue eyes looked electric.
Alight with thousands of stars that you could not see, and aflame with the soft crackling fire as it reflected the orange and yellow hues.
You sighed as you sat beside him, shuffling forward slightly so that you could rest your head on his lap; gazing up at him as he flinched for a moment at the sudden contact.
But he soon settled, relaxing and letting his hand drift to your forehead as he felt the soft head radiating from your skin. Of all of the Company, you were closest to Fili without a single doubt.
You had been with the Company since the beginning, hired by Gandalf to protect Fili and Kili and to ensure that the two brothers survived everything that was thrown at them; but what you had never expected was that you would end up becoming rather attached to one of the brothers, and that every time you looked into his beautiful eyes, you would feel like you were finally home.
You shifted around a little, almost nuzzling into his stomach as you got comfortable against him; Fili didn’t mind, although he couldn’t help but to smile.
He knew that you had a reputation to uphold, after all, you were famous throughout Middle Earth - from the Shire through to Rohan - for being essentially fearless.
A warrior so strong, you had fought in many wars, and had been decorated by your King accordingly; those who bore white flags with red crosses were terrified of you, and would cower at the mere mention of your name.
They knew who you were; the warrior with the red dragon on their breastplate and the sword made of dragon bones. The warrior who spoke a language older than Elvish, and who would stop at nothing to defend his homeland from those who carried the white banner with the red cross upon it.
The warrior who spoke the dragon’s tongue, and who had charmed their way into Fili’s heart so easily.
Fili knew your reputation, but he also knew Thorin’s words about you, as they echoed in his head every time you were close.
“Be careful of that one, those who sell their swords sell their souls along with it.”
But you weren’t like that, Fili knew that. You accepted the job because you owed Gandalf a favour, and that was all. You didn’t sell your sword at all, you were hired to fulfil the end of a favour.
That was all, and you made it incredibly clear that you would never accept another job offer of the same or similar calibre again.
But Fili’s uncle’s words weighed heavily upon his shoulders, even if you did feel like home every time you were close to him; even if the soft warmth of your forehead felt the same as coming home to a familiar bed.
He knew, though, nothing could or would ever come of it.
You wriggled a little, humming softly to yourself for a moment. “Fili?”
He nodded, a soft thrum coming from the very back of his throat as he lazily looked down at you. “Yes?”
“Is it odd that I feel like it ain’t home without you?” You asked quietly, all but twiddling your thumbs as you stared up at him so gently, your gaze all too soft on him.
But he shook his head, daring to lick his lips as he tilted his head slightly to the side. “No… in all honesty and truth, I can’t help but to feel the same - I feel as if the softest of touches from you is the same as coming back to my own bed.”
You could only smile as you let out a quiet yawn, stretching ever so slightly. “And what about your uncle? Thorin doesn’t exactly seem all that keen on me.”
Fili shrugged as he dared to smile back, slowly shaking his head. “Allow me to handle Thorin. I can deal with him, I can convince him that you are not what he thinks you are.”
You frowned a little, swallowing thickly and hoping that he didn’t see how you were struggling to get through to it. “But how confident in that are you, exactly?”
“Very,” Fili nodded, daring to grin at you as he gently stroked your cheek. “As long as you are my home, I will be yours, and I will do everything I can to convince my uncle that we belong together.”
Struggling to sit up, you rolled your eyes when he laughed at your efforts before pulling you onto his lap; letting you straddle his waist as he rested his hands on your thighs and tilted his head to the side, humming ever so softly. Gently, he ran his hands up and down your thighs.
“Tell me that I am yours,” he whispered softly. “And I will tell you that you are mine.”
You nodded, clasping your hands behind his neck as you stared at his mouth for a moment. Your voice coming out as a mere whisper. “I am all yours, Fili.”
“And I am yours,” he murmured gently, his hands trailing up so that one rested on your middle and the other rested at the back of your neck. All too tempted to pull you in closer. “Always.”
“Always,” you repeated. “Are you sure you don’t want my help with confronting Thorin?”
Fili nodded slowly, licking his lips as his gaze dropped to your mouth. “I might need you to keep me alive.”
“That’s my job,” you laughed gently. “Isn’t it?”
He laughed along for a moment, but when you leaned in slightly, he could not help but to close the distance. His kiss was so soft and tender, and when you kissed him back, you could not deny: you were home.

Hiii could you do a SFW Alphabet for Fíli?? Thank uuu mwah 🩷🩷🩷
Hi anon! And yes of course, here it is (thank you for requesting & hope you enjoy!)
*・༓˚✧❝𝐒𝐅𝐖 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭 - 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢❞‧͙⁺˚༓˚✧ « SFW Alphabet »
Wordcount : 2.1k (not including questions)
A = Affection(How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?) Very shameless when it comes to practically all kinds of affection. Will happily greet you with a kiss, or a hug if you're not comfortable with that. Enjoys holding hands, if he's next to you then your hands will almost certainly be in his. Tries not to stare at you, but if there's no-one else around then he certainly will. You'll catch him and he'll chuckle, apologising before complimenting you on whatever had caught his eye the most.
He also really enjoys playing with your hair, or being involved in its health in some way. On a lazy morning he's happy to braid it, doing one or two different ones before finally settling and excitedly showing you how it looks.
B = Best friend(What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?) Fíli treats close friendships in quite a sibling-esque relationship. He's willing to throw down his life for you, loyal to a fault, and is absolutely not giving you the slice of cake that's got a centimetre more frosting on it. That's his. He enjoys laughing and joking about most of the time, but can be serious when you don't have the energy/it's not appropriate.
C = Cuddles(Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?) Fíli enjoys cuddling, although he often just hugs you then starts talking so you'll have to initiate it. Always gets a big smile on his face when you start to initiate it. Enjoys burying his head in your neck, if he's in a position to do that. However he is someone that naturally moves around a lot, so cuddles can be filled with gentle shuffling and whispered apologies. Very occasionally the cuddling is awkwardly interrupted by him realising he still has knives on and he doesn't want to stab you. Still doesn't want to let go of you once you've started cuddling, and looks mournful the entire time he's getting further away.
D = Domestic(Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?) He really wants to settle down, it's always been a dream of his to finally find a home - and he wants to be able share that with you. Ideally you can come with him to Erebor, because that's the home he's always wanted.
He's actually very good at cleaning, especially since he's worked in a forge most of his life. Admittedly a lot of the stuff he's great at isn't completely domestic, but it carries over pretty well. Has a bad habit of picking up something to move it and then just keeping it and forgetting to put it down. Fíli is fine at cooking, generally better at hearty and spiced foods, and if he tries he can make a pretty good meal.
E = Ending(If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?) Fíli is genuinely in love, and cares about you a great deal. He'd be open and honest about his problems the first time they come up, so it'd be very hard to be bad enough for him to want to break up.
F = Fiance(e)(How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?) Cares a lot about commitment, and is very loyal as soon as the two of you are together. Once you've been together for a while he's thinking of marriage, and his main reason for waiting so long is crafting the perfect proposal ring for you, and then the perfect wedding band after that. As he knows the physical ring will take some time, he does ask you on your opinions of marriage before it happens - but tries to be subtle about it. Has pulled several all-nighters to perfect details on it. (You have to send Kíli to go get him as he doesn't want you to see it before it's ready.)
G = Gentle(How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?) Gentle isn't something that most dwarves, especially Durin's line, grew up with. But he certainly tries his best to learn, and meet the level of gentleness you give to him. He'll still give slightly too strong hugs, or enter them by running into you, but you can tell it's never malicious, and he'll apologise afterwards.
Fíli is naturally an emotionally intelligent dwarf, so is fairly aware of your emotions and acts accordingly. Generally he sees no reason to change how he acts around you, because he loves your genuine self and hopes the same for him, but this doesn't mean it's harsh. When you're upset he tries to lower his voice, and asks you what he can do or tries not be as loud and over-the-top. He feels he can be emotionally vulnerable around you, as well, and even though he often isn't it's still something he's very grateful for.
H = Hugs(Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?) Very much enjoys hugs, and will engage in them as often as he can. If you've been away for too long he'll often run up and hug you, not quite knocking you over but enough for a startled laugh. He hugs you as tightly as you're comfortable with before letting go, sheepishly apologising yet again.
Hugging is also one of, in his opinion, the best ways for him to show his affection while in public. It's enough for him to get his message across, but not to embarrass either of you. He'll turn to you and quietly ask if you can hug, turning away as though he's expecting disappointment and that you'll say no.
I = I love you(How fast do they say the L-word?) He says it after around the fourth or fifth date. He's loved you since around the second, but he wants it to be a special occasion and he wants to make sure his feelings for you are real. Which they certainly are, because they keep getting stronger. There are quite a few times where's he's almost said it, but either got tongue-tied or you made him laugh. It's a big deal to him, so he wants to treat it as such.
J = Jealousy(How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?) Fíli is about average when it comes to jealousy. He's not great with it, but he tries to keep himself calm and reminds himself that he trusts you. If the person he's jealous of is making you uncomfortable, however? Goes over and is very aggressively friendly with them. Talks about how funny it is they've both got exactly the same type, and isn't it wierd how they were both talking to you? He's glad you chose him, at least. Feels maybe too much satisfaction watching them slink off.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?) Enjoys giving a lot of light kisses around the face, often quick and playful - trying to catch you off-guard when your at home together. He's content to leave it there, but if you lean into them he's certainly good with giving proper kisses. Fíli does feel a little awkward about his moustache braids when it comes to kissing so the first few times this happens you might have to be the one to lean in. Eventually learns you like it, and then is quick to deepen the kiss as soon as you want it without encouragement needed. On his part, he enjoys being kissed on the lips - but isn't particularly fussy about if it's just a peck or something proper.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?) He's pretty good at keeping them entertained, will listen to them and nod along in all the right places. Does have a (slight) tendancy to give children knives, but he maintains that he's supervising them so therefore it's all fine. Remarkably good with annoying and/or very clingy kids. When asked why he says he grew up with Kíli. Will sometimes make them a little something out of scrap metal if he's by the forge and they've been watching him.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?) Fíli isn't really an early or late morning person, so tends to get out of bed at around the same time you do. On the occasion he wakes up earlier he just stays in bed with you, waiting for you to wake up. Remarkably cheerful in the morning, although he says it's just because he's with you. If there's time he enjoys brushing your hair and braiding it for you, trying to make it as elaborate and beautiful as he can for you within whatever time constraints he has. Always overjoyed if you ask to do his, no matter how often you ask.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?) Goes to bed surprisingly early, unless he's staying out to be social. Very much enjoys coming home and then cooking up and eating a nice meal with you, it's a good way for him to ask about your day. Tries to smooth over any stresses and hiccups in it, but isn't overbearing. Every two weeks he'll stay up later than he normally does to polish all of his knives and check they're working. Has a whole routine for which knives and which wetstone, has a little song he hums under his breath.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?) Enjoys telling you stories about the positive times in his life, wanting to make you smile and laugh - although he tells them more for that reason that to inform you of him. If you don't know about Erebor Fíli explains it after the firs month or two, but that's more because he's scared you'll fall out of love with him. He's pretty honest about things if you just ask him, the only exception being if it's very painful for him - a question he would answer, but might need a bit to think of the right response.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?) Fíli is a very patient person, he's used to letting others take the lead and being in control. However if you've made plans, he does tend to get anxious if you're late or otherwise very behind schedule. He isn't deliberately angry, but some of it might slip out because of stress. He always apologises afterwards. Doesn't tend to engage in shouting matches, if he's very angry (which is almost never at you) he'll take a deep breath, say a parting remark, and try and calm down somewhere.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?) Actually very good at remembering lots of things, even the passing details you're simply laughing over. It's not shown too often, but maybe the flowers in his forest carving are a mixture of your favourites and the ones that you pointed out to him on the walk a year ago. It's the small detail that made you laugh that he repeats sometimes, just to see you smile again. Some little things slip though, but if they're important to you he makes an effort - and certainly won't forget a second time.
R = Remember (What is their favourite moment in your relationship?) His favourite memory is when he finally proposed to you. Fíli had taken an age to get the ring right for you, and then had put every effort in to make sure that the night he proposed on was magical as well. Still remembers how anxious he felt when he pulled out the ring, and the pure joy of seeing you slip it on.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?) Fíli is over-protective before Erebor is reclaimed. He has very few things in life, and you're one of them. Tends to do it by keeping around you, sometimes making you knives. He understands it's a little overbearing, but he can't bring himself to do anything more than tone it down. After Erebor is reclaimed he's a lot better, although he still always makes sure you have a knife on you. Fíli enjoys the protection of being constantly armed, and if you're with him - and in some way reader to fight - he's always that bit more relaxed.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?) Very good amount of effort into dates and anniversaries, he's a prince - so definitely pulls a few strings to get the best of the best for you. Great a gifts, combined with making you things and remembering a lot of your favourites they're always very personalised, and it's clear how much he cares. Fíli puts effort into romantic everyday tasks, although if it's more domestic duties he doesn't feel bad about asking a servant.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?) Sometimes, when he's very stressed, he feels very anxious without his knives and vulnerable. Will take them out and start twirling them, even if it's not entirely appropriate. Has been a few minutes late once or twice because he's forgotten a knife and needed to find it again.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?) He's a dwarf, so of course he takes very good care of his hair. It's one of his prides, and so he spends an appropriate (he feels) amount of time making sure it looks good. Always meticulously checks braids and buffs beads on there until they are shining.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?) Yes, with or without Erebor. When it hasn't been reclaimed he notices it a bit less, instead joining his general feelings of profound loss, but when it's reclaimed he notices it even more. Struggles with it sometimes, because he's fought so hard to feel whole.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.) Fíli can play a lot of instruments, all of them very well. He is very open about his musical talent with all of them, willing to perform, except for the harp. Will play if you ask him too, but not for anyone else.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?) People without loyalty. It's fine if it's conflicted, he understands that, but he wants to know you'd chose him - or that there's something you love enough to always stand with.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?) Fíli is an oddly adaptable sleeper. He tends to go to bed somewhat early, however.

Dating Fíli Headcanons
More headcanons, lucky you!! I figured before I get too big of a collection I might want to post some content about the namesake of this blog lol.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 0.4k
- Y'all ever heard of The Belly (TM)?
- Literal heaven on earth cuddling with this man
- He is THEE best cuddler because: 1) bear 1a) belly 1b) hairy 2) he bathes regularly and makes an effort to smell good (look at that face and tell me he doesn't smell like lavender and thyme)
- He's more likely to fall for dwarrowdams than his brother, probably because he's just always been more appealing to his own folk
- He prizes how interesting and captivating a potential partner is over their rank, much to his family's chagrin (cue Kili aggressively cheering him on)
- He's a very diligent student, and the more cautious of the two brothers
- That's why he takes a while observing you from afar and making sure that he won't be wasting your time if he asks to court you
- That same studiousness makes him very attractive to you
- If he didn't know before, he quickly learns to cook at an artisan/Bombur level to impress you
- He plays the fiddle very skillfully, though he relies on you to come up with new tunes for him to serenade you with
- He loves to read, and if you do too, he will fall HARD when you can discuss the books you read together
- He learned to dance to impress at balls, but he takes to twirling you and waltzing with you in hallways, often early in the morning or late at night when no one else is around
- He definitely spends most of his time forging, however--where do you think all those knives came from?
- You'll have a whole collection before you even get married, with a few gauntlets/bracelets/necklaces in there somewhere
- He gets a huge confidence boost from you oohing and ahhing over his muscles, which thankfully you do often
- One form of affection you both share is playing with each other's hair--it's a perfect way to get each other to relax after long days
- Naps naps naps naps naps naps
- Once again, I cannot emphasize this enough: most ideal and best pillow because he is warm and soft and also he loves you what more could you ask for

I'm not happy with this fic as I should be, but I hope you like it.
Genre: fluff
Warnings: fighting, dead orcs, Kíli in pain from a shot from Bolg
Summary: Locking Fíli up in a cell.
Paring: Fíli Durinson x warrior! elf! reader
Knives and daggers
Tumblr media
Gif from pinterest, it's not mine
Pov. (Y/n)
I was leading the blond dwarf to his cell. He already gave off his weapons, but I still could see a knife sticking out of his coat. His eyes didn't leave me for a second.
When we got to the cells, I looked at him and cleared my throat, pulling out my hand. He looked at me, confused with a nervous grin.
- Your knife.
I said.
- But I don't have anythin-
I pulled a big dagger out of his coat, and he laughed, embarrassed. I put it inside my pocket and pushed him inside his cell. He looked at me before I walked away. I must admit he is a handsome guy.
I was stopped from walking out of my room by another elf.
- Are you sure you took everything from him?
He asked, and I nodded.
- Our king wants you to take a watch on them for your earlier wrongdoing.
- It was one time!
I said angrily, and he walked away without any more words. I sat down with a loud groan. The dwarves were talking, but I ignored it.
After some time, my butt started hurting, and I decided to stand up, walk a bit, and look at our prisoners. When I walked closer, their talks got quieter. I walked up to a cell with a blond dwarf. He was sitting on his cell bed. He looked at me with confusion.
- So you like daggers and knifes?
I asked, and he looked surprised, but nodded. He stood up and walked up to the doors of the cell.
- You know that you and your companions are really in trouble?
I asked and he sighed.
- We know.. but my uncle, like always, had to express his opinion on elves...
He said the last part quieter, and I giggled. He smiled.
"Mahal.. his smile and his voice are mesmerising.."
I thought and pulled out my hand for him.
- I'm (Y/n).
I said, and he grabbed my hand, turning it and kissing my knuckles. I blushed at the action.
- And I'm Fíli.
He said confidently with a tint of flirt. He let go of my hand, and I tucked my hair behind my ear, slightly blushing.
- Aye! Fíli stop flirting with that elf! It's point-
I heard someone shout, it was a brown haired dwarf, but then they stopped when Tauriel walked into the room. I giggled and waved to her. She waved back and walked through the prison and stopped where the brown haired dwarf was.
- That is my younger brother, Kíli.
Fíli said, leaning on the cell's door.
- And it seems like someone caught his eye.
I said with a smile, and Fíli chucked. I turned around to look at him again. He looked at my weapons, which were hanging around my body. I wasn't the archer elf like most of my friends. I preferred daggers, knives, swords, or even spears.
- You're not an archer?
He asked, surprised, and I nodded, chuckling.
- Definitely not. As you can tell..
I said and turned around, showing him my collection of weapons. His eyes widened and sparkled.
- They all have a story..
I said with nostalgia. He looked at me, intrested.
- Tell me about them.
He said with passion, and I laughed. I slowly sat down before his cell, and so did he.
I told him about my adventures and from where I got my weapons. He looked at me, listening curiously and sometimes making jokes, at which I laughed. The time went fast and nice. Then, someone walked in.
- (Y/n)!! Your shift is over!
The elf soldier shouted, and I looked at the dwarf saddly.
- It was nice talking to you, Fíli.. Hope I will see you soon..
I said quietly, so the elf soldier doesn't hear it. Fíli smiled and nodded.
- I don't think I can go anywhere..
He said and pointed at the cell, chuckling. I smiled and stood up. I waved him goodbye and ran up to the elf.
••
When I heard the alarm that the dwarves were running away, I quickly ran behind Legolas and Tauriel. We were going down the river, following the group of dwarves that were swimming in the barrels.
The dwarves stopped on our border gate, and after a while, there were orcs coming from every direction, killing elves and trying to kill our lost prisoners.
I throwed a spear at the tree and jumped, swinging on it to get on the other side of the river. I was trying to kill as many enemies as I could, but it wasn't easy in this terrain. I cut theirs heads off and cut throats while doing flips and dodges. I sometimes felt someone's gaze on me as I fought.
I saw Kíli getting out to pull the lever, but he got shot on his leg. I frowned and killed another orcs. Tauriel got to his rescue and killed orcs coming his way.
When Kíli pulled the lever and fell inside his barrel, we followed them again. We killed a lot of orcs to keep us and dwarves safe.
"Why are they going so fast?!"
I thought, groaning and leaning my head backwards when no one attacked me. I looked around and took a shortcut, sprinting. The shortcut was higher than the hills around the river. There was only one orc that I killed immediately by throwing a knife to his head. I took it back and ran as quickly as I could again.
I saw Legolas standing at dwarves heads, and laughed. He always liked to show off. I took my spear and throwed it at an orc that nearly attacked Legolas. The dwarves were helping too, and I was so grateful for that.
After a bit, my shortcut ended, and I was waiting for them a bit further. I killed orcs that waited here for the dwarves. Then I saw the barrels, and Legolas stopped next to me. We looked at them as they swam away. I sighed deeply, and my friend put a hand on my shoulder. We saw Tauriel behind us, and she joined us.
••
I decided to follow the dwarves into the Laketown. I jumped on the roofs of the houses, seeking the house with the dwarves in it. I jumped off the roof when I saw the correct one. I knocked on the door.
- Who is that?
- I hope not anyone who can kill us...
I heard mumbled voices, but then the door opened. I saw a tall man with dark hair.
- How can I help you?
He asked.
- I'm here to help your guests.
- But I don't have any-
He didn't finish, and I saw a head popping out from the room inside.
- (Y/n)?
Fíli said, and I smiled. The man let me go inside, and I walked up to the blond dwarf. I handed him the knife I took from him earlier with a smile.
- I think I took it from you.
I said, and he grabbed his weapon, smiling warmly. Fíli opened his mouth to say something, but then I heard loud groans of pain. I quickly excused myself and walked up to Kíli who was lying on the table, pale as a ghost. I looked at him, scared and worried.
- Please tell me you can help him..
Said the old dwarf and I looked with a sad look, shaking my head.
- But I know who can.
I said and quickly ran outside and jumped on the roof. I grabbed a horn that Tauriel gave me. She told me to use it in case of emergency. It is only heard for elves, so no one track us. I blowed the air inside it and waited.
After 5 minutes, I saw Tauriel making her way to me. We jumped off the roof, and she looked at Kíli. She told us to find some herb, which we did find after a while.
While Kíli was kicking around, we held him, and Tauriel did an elves' magic on him, bringing him back to health. I sighed in relief. I felt a hand wrap around mine and looked at the owner of it. It was Fíli who had a really concerned look on his face while looking at his brother. I rubbed my thumb on his knuckles to comfort him a bit.
Then we heard a loud thund. I immediately ran outside and stood next to a dead orc body. I looked around and saw that Legolas was shooting at the most enemies. I pulled my knives out, but in the corner of my eye, I saw Fíli taking his dagger out too. I turned around and looked at him.
- Fíli.. Take care of your brother.. He needs you now..
I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. He looked deeply into my eyes.
- But you also need me..
He said, pushing through me and walking outside. He killed one orc and I smiled.
- Tauriel! Please take care of them.
I said in elvish. She looked at me and nodded. I ran outside to follow Fíli. We fought side by side. We knew what we were doing, like we knew each other for our whole lives.
When town was clear (or we thought so), we saw a dragon up in the sky, blowing fire. We started running away. I put my hand inside Fíli's and tried helping civilians run away and save their lifes.
When we got on the coast, we saw Bard trying to shoot the dragon, which he did. He killed him. The monster flew up into the sky and fell down with a huge impact.
We started cheering. The Smaug was dead. I looked at Fíli who looked so happy that I couldn't even describe it. He looked at our intertwined hands and then at my face. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer. I blushed while looking down at him.
- I thought you said you weren't going anywhere..
I said with a pout, remembering their swim in the river. He chuckled and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
- Well... I'm here now..
We leaned closer to each other, our noses touching and eyes closed. We were like this for a few seconds before I decided to press my lips to his. He seemed amazed at my action, but quickly kissed me back. He put his hand behind my head, pulling me closer. My arms wrapped around his shoulders.
We pulled away when we heard people shouting with enthusiasm. I looked into the direction of people's looks and saw Bard from the distance.

✨ Perfect Proposal ✨
Fíli looked into the mirror and gave his moustache a nervous tug. There was not even a single wrinkle on the festive clothes he wore, his hair was freshly braided and adorned with beads and yet his face seemed uncharacteristically pale. He swallowed. It was finally going to happen today, after so much waiting, after years of pining for you in secret, and—what was most important—after surviving the Quest. Now Erebor was reclaimed and he was finally able to speak of his feelings and ask you to marry him. Fíli dreamed of the moment when he would be allowed to call you his wife… if you agreed to his proposal, that is.
His stomach decided to tie itself into a knot and Fíli realized that he was even more terrified—no, warriors never got terrified!—he was even more nervous than before the Battle of Five Armies began. What was worse, at the very moment when he imagined your lovely face, your smile, and the way your soft lips parted, saying “yes”, every single word of his well-rehearsed speech seemed to have disappeared from his mind.
Muttering a swearword under his breath, Fíli left his chambers. A breath of fresh air was all he needed to clear his head. He was a prince, after all, and he would act like one. He only needed to find his composure. There was still some time until he was going to meet you for dinner in the Royal Wing. Everything was prepared, the music, the atmosphere, the candles, the food... It just had to be perfect. He had to make it happen. But now, Fíli needed a few moments to himself, and he had to be quick about it. Hurriedly, he directed his steps towards one of the outer terraces of the Lonely Mountain.
As he strode ahead, barely registering the surroundings, his mind focused on recalling the speech he was about to make, something thudded against his chest.
“Ouch!” a familiar voice reached his ears. Your voice.
“Gamzûna! What are you doing here?!” Fíli used the moniker you gained after one of the orc attacks during the Quest. It meant “fierce lady”. He looked straight into your eyes, smiling.
“I’m so very sorry, Fíli! I mean, I didn’t…” you started, trying to catch your breath. At that very moment you both realized something. You stood very, very close to Fíli, your hands placed against his hard chest, his arms wrapped around you. He must have instinctively embraced you at the very moment you bumped into him.
“It looks like you have been in a hurry,” he murmured with that alluring smile of his. His arms were still around you, holding you close. Fíli was not letting you go. You tried not to think of what would happen if someone saw you embracing in the middle of a public corridor, his face so close to yours.
“I was seeing Princess Dís and realized what time it was, and I wanted to be quick so that I wouldn’t be late for…” your voice trembled. “For the dinner you invited me to.”
“You are here and I am here too. It seems that we have plenty of time to reach the dining hall, don’t you think?” Fíli winked playfully. “By the way, you look stunning tonight.”
The smile you gave him in return was barely visible.
“Thank you. Since this is going to be our last evening together, I thought…” you cleared your throat, looking away and pulling at one of the intricate laces of your elegant bottle-green dress.
“What are you talking about, Gamzûna?! Last evening? Are you going somewhere?!” Fíli’s eyes widened. He was so close to telling you about everything he felt for you! That couldn’t be happening!
“It seems so,” you took a deep breath. You dreaded every single word of what you were about to say, but it needed to be done. There was that old saying, If you love someone, set them free–right?
“Please, tell me that you are joking! You can’t go!” Fíli protested. His embrace became even tighter.
“It will be for the best. You’ll see. Until today, I had hoped that tonight…” you tried not to sob and shook your head instead. “I like you, Fíli. I really do. And we grew closer during the Quest, all those evenings together, all the dangers we survived… I felt the bond between us was special. You were always so good to me, so caring. I don’t know when exactly I understood what I felt for you, but tonight I wanted to tell you… Well, it doesn’t matter now any more, does it? No, please, let me finish. Today at breakfast Balin say that you needed a wife now, someone worthy of you. And Bofur added this had to be someone who made you smile. Dwalin kept on saying how you admired women who were fearless warriors. And then Kili told me that a beautiful lady stole your heart a long time ago and that it was time you proposed to her. Ori even wanted to show me her picture but then Thorin told everyone to stop prattling. Fíli, it is time for me to return to my old life in the Blue Mountains. I will not stand in the way of your happiness, but I wanted to have this last evening with you. For old times’ sake.”
Fíli’s heart beat strong and fast under his tunic. His brow furrowed. His eyes searched your face in silence.
“I’m going to kill every single last of them!” He finally huffed.
Your jaw dropped. That was the last thing you expected him to say.
“Fíli…?”
“Yes. I’m going to strangle Balin! Then I’m going to cook Bofur in a stew! And I’ll throw Dwalin from the rampart!”
“Fíli! What are you talking about?!”
“ I’ll feed every single one of them to the mountain trolls! And I’ll drop an avalanche right on the top of my brother’s stupid head! That lulkh! And Ori…”
“Please, Fíli! Could you at least let me go?”
“No! You are not going anywhere!” Sparks of anger glinted in his eyes as he covered your hands with his. His voice softened. “Gamzûna, will you tell me now what you wanted to tell me tonight? I would very much like to hear it.”
“There’s nothing I can tell you,” you whispered, avoiding his gaze. “You are supposed to marry that beautiful lady of yours, remember?”
Fíli was now holding your hands in his. His skin was as warm as sun on midday. And his radiant smile was back on his lips, his moustache beads clinking as he tilted his head.
“Aye, it seems that the cat is out of the bag now,” he chuckled, making you frown.
“What’s so funny?”
“Come. See for yourself,” he held your hand and pulled you gently after him, down the corridor. “There is a lady whom I want to marry. She makes me smile and she is one of the fiercest warriors I know. And she captured my heart on the day I met her. This is her.”
As he spoke, he turned you around until you faced one of the stone walls of the corridor. This particular wall was covered with a large mirror in a golden frame.
You were looking at your own reflection.
“What are you saying, Fíli?” your eyes met the reflection of his silver-blue gaze.
“I love you, Gamzûna,” he murmured, stepping to face you, his voice laced with tenderness. “Was that what you wanted to tell me too?”
“I’m afraid not,” you replied.
“Oh…” Fíli’s smile faded away.
Now it was your time to chuckle and hold his hands in yours.
“I wanted to ask you whether you would do me the honour of becoming my husband, Fíli, son of Dís.”
“Gamzûna…” Slowly, reverently Fíli cradled your face with his palms as his lips hovered over yours. “You are perfect.”
“Does that mean ‘yes’?” you whispered, brushing your nose against his.
“Guess,” his hot breath fanned your skin a moment before your lips met but you already knew the answer.

“Charcoal Heart”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fili, feeling a surge of playful affection, reached out and took Y/n's hand. With a mischievous grin, he delicately drew a small heart on her finger using some sharpen charcoal. "Here," he said with a twinkle in his eye, "to remember me if we ever get lost."
Y/n's eyes widened with delight as she admired the tiny heart drawn on her finger. "Oh, Fili, it's so cute," she exclaimed, unable to resist the urge to show her appreciation. She leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on the drawn heart.
Just as their lips parted, Fili couldn't resist continuing the game. He brought his charcoal to his lips and, with a mischievous expression, drew a heart on them. "You forgot one," he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
Y/n's cheeks flushed with a mixture of surprise and amusement, and she couldn't help but let out a surprised laugh. "Fili!" she exclaimed, her voice a playful reprimand.
From a distance, Kili observed the exchange with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. "I can't believe I'm related to him," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head.
Thorin, overhearing Kili's comment, couldn't help but chuckle. "Can't believe I'm related to the both of you," he remarked with a wry smile, his eyes sparkling with a hint of familial pride.

Misty Memories Cold
When you wake in Fíli’s bed with no recollection of anything after an accident in Mirkwood, he’s ready to risk anything, even his uncle’s wrath, to bring back what you had together.
<< Beginning | < Previous | Next >
Chapter Five
“I’m not sure I like this idea,” you mutter, crossing your arms over your chest against the hallway’s chill. The light from mid-morning sunbeams slowly fades to the flickering orange light of torches as you get closer to the core of the mountain.
“The worst he can do is say no,” Tauriel replies coolly. For someone so out of place in the realm of dwarves, she walks with extraordinary confidence, towering over everyone—especially you.
Fíli and Kíli exchange skeptical looks, but remain silent.
You, however, do not. “You don’t know Thorin.”
“That is true,” she hums, “but I know kings.” Tauriel hardly pauses as you approach the large, double doors leading to the war room.
Kíli shoots out an arm to block her from entering. “Us first,” he insists. “He won’t exactly be thrilled to see you.”
The hinges creak in protest as he swings open the heavy door, interrupting Thorin mid-sentence. The king sits at the head of a long table, flanked by two empty seats, normally occupied by his heirs. The rest of the chairs are filled by Balin, Dwalin, and a handful of elves. The guests’ eyes narrow curiously, but when you step into the room, they duck their heads to whisper amongst themselves. Fíli puts an arm around your waist, standing as tall as he can and glowering at them.
“Kíli, you are late,” Thorin scolds. “Fíli, Y/N, I believe I made it clear that you have… other duties today.” He pointedly ignores Tauriel.
“I apologize for the intrusion, Your Highness,” Tauriel says smoothly, her voice all business. “May we speak in private? It is an urgent matter.”
Thorin continues to pretend she’s not there, clearing his throat and gesturing for Kíli to sit. “As I was saying–”
But she will not be ignored. “It is of particular importance to your princess,” she presses.
All heads in the room turn to you. Fíli winces and tightens his arm around you. Even Thorin appears momentarily stunned by her interruption, but he quickly regains his composure and fixes the elf with a glare.
“You are excused,” he hisses. “We–”
“Your Highness–” she tries to interject again.
“Do not interrupt me!” the king snaps. He rises from his seat, his eyes flashing dangerously. “You are an escort, nothing more. You are not welcome at the negotiating table.”
“Thorin, please,” you say softly. You press against Fíli, making yourself as small and vulnerable-looking as possible. The act works—Thorin softens just the tiniest bit.
His nostrils flare as he breathes heavily, glancing back at the elvish delegates. They eye the king with suspicion. “Everyone out,” he says at last. His teeth are clenched so hard you’re surprised they don’t crumble.
“There is tea waiting in the great hall,” Balin offers, a bit more diplomatically. He ushers the delegation from the room and gives you a tiny nod as he passes.
“Sit,” Thorin growls.
You drop into a chair instantly at his command, already wary of his anger. Fíli takes his seat and gives your hand a reassuring squeeze under the table. But you grip it tightly, not letting him pull away. He resists for a second, then lets his hand relax in yours and brushes his thumb over the back of it.
“What do you want?”
You jump slightly when Thorin addresses you.
“We have a proposal–”
“I did not ask you,” Thorin cuts Tauriel off brusquely, still looking at you.
It’s quiet for a moment as you open and close your mouth, unsure of what to say. “Tauriel has a plan,” you finally offer.
“Hear her out, please,” Kíli jumps in. His leg bounces beneath the table, making ripples on the surfaces of abandoned glasses of wine. “She thinks she knows how to cure Y/N.”
His phrasing makes you wince, and Fíli squeezes your hand again.
“Nonsense,” Thorin scoffs. “There’s nothing wrong with her. Nothing that you should know about,” he adds when Tauriel arches an eyebrow. “Unless someone has been speaking of things they should not.”
Everyone turns to Kíli, who suddenly looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. He gives you a helpless shrug, hands raised in surrender.
“Thorin, please,” Fíli urges quietly. “This is Y/N that we are talking about. Our Y/N.”
A vein throbs in Thorin’s temple, but he looks at Tauriel for the first time since she entered. “Get on with it, then.”
She dips her head. “Whatever ails her is not a physical problem, it’s magic borne of Mirkwood. That’s something dwarves simply cannot address.” Thorin bristles, but she raises a hand before he can speak. “I’ve no doubt that you have skilled healers, but she needs more than herbs and rest. Let her return to Mirkwood with me, and we will do everything we can to restore her memory.”
Hope rises in your chest as Thorin studies the elf maiden. “Why are you offering this? What do you stand to gain from helping?” His tone is laced with suspicion, but less anger than before.
“I’ve a certain… admiration for the for kingdom of Erebor after all it has endured.” Her eyes flicker briefly to Kíli, who absentmindedly fiddles with his belt. “I would be glad to see its princess well once again.”
“Can you swear that your efforts will be successful? That she will return whole and unharmed with her memories intact?”
But that hope dies as Tauriel hesitates. “I cannot,” she admits at last.
“No.” Thorin rises from the table, taking his mantle from the back of his chair and heading for the door.
“No?!” you repeat incredulously. You’re on your feet before you even know it, hands curled into fists at your side. Fíli moves to grab your wrist, but you dodge his hand. “This is our best chance to–”
“No!” He turns on his heel to face you again. There’s a shadow across his face, brows knitted in a furious glare. “It is too much to risk without a guarantee of success. That is final.”
“Fine!” you snap, crossing your arms. Your headache pulses even harder behind your eyes. “I’ll go anyway!”
“Careful, Y/N…” Kíli whispers. He’s risen as well, knuckles white as they grip the back of his chair.
“Then you can stay there,” Thorin thunders. His stormy eyes move to his nephews. “And if either of you set foot outside our lands, you can keep going all the way back to Ered Luin. Now, get out.”
“Uncle–”
“Out, Fíli! All of you!”
You snort, glaring at Thorin and pulling Fíli up from the table by his wrist. “Come on,” you grumble. “I’m not going to keep arguing with a stone wall.” You storm from the room, dragging Fíli with you and doing your best to slam the oversized door—right in poor Kíli’s face. He pushes it open behind you, nearly stumbling as Tauriel breezes past him.
“Pack your things for a journey,” she says briskly, her long strides quickly putting distance between you and the angry king. “All of you. We leave at midnight.”
“Are you out of your mind?!” Fíli hisses. “You heard Thorin—he’ll have our heads!”
“If he even lets us back in,” Kíli mutters.
“Thorin can… what is that phrase you use, Y/N?”
“‘Get fucked?’” you offer.
“Yes, that.”
“This is a bad idea,” Fíli reminds the group for the hundredth time. But even as he voices his concerns, he still busies himself with tacking up the ponies and arranging the bags. “If Thorin or Amad catch us, we’re as good as dead.”
“With how loud you’re talking, they can probably hear you from their chambers.” You shift from one foot to the other, shivering. August in the mountains means pleasantly warm days, but the northern cold refuses to be forgotten, bringing frigid nights. Without missing a beat, Fíli sheds his coat and drapes it over your shoulders. You give him a quick smile.
A warm, fuzzy snout nudges your shoulder. You turn to find a black and white pony stretching its neck over the door of its stall, sniffing your pack hopefully. It nickers softly when you lift your hand to stroke its nose.
“That one’s yours,” Kíli says, leaning against the stable’s door. Tauriel and his pony already wait outside, the animal pawing impatiently at the ground. “You named him Domino, and refused to tell us what that means.”
“Domino?” You smile as you fit the bridle on him. “Perfect.” He follows you outside obediently, still nudging your bag in hopes of finding treats. Fíli comes to your rescue once again with a handful of sugar cubes swiped from the kitchen. You raise an eyebrow at him. “Trying to steal my pony’s heart?”
“Aye.” Fíli winks and swings himself up onto his mount. “And I’m coming for yours next.” But his face turns serious as he glances up at the moon, full over your heads. Wisps of clouds tickle its edges, threatening to block out its light. “We should go. If we make good pace, it shouldn’t be more than a few weeks’ travel.”
You sigh and climb up on your own pony. Next to Tauriel’s horse, you’re reminded once again how small you are. Inside the mountain, it’s easier to ignore. Everything is dwarf-sized. You-sized. But outside, the world does not cater to your diminished stature.
“A few weeks’ travel to where?” A voice from behind startles you from your thoughts. Fíli freezes next to you.
You turn around slowly, feeling like a child with her hand caught in the cookie jar. Dís folds her arms and taps her foot as she waits for an answer. There’s something tucked under her arm, but you can’t quite make it out.
“Nowhere,” Kíli responds quickly. “Nowhere at all.” He gives his mother the most innocent look he can muster, but it’s pointless. Every pony is laden with at least one travel pack.
Fíli purses his lips tightly. “We’re going to get help for Y/N,” he admits through gritted teeth. He raises his chin defiantly, as if expecting resistance. “Thorin won’t listen. We’re taking matters into our own hands.”
Dís shakes her head in disappointment. Your heart sinks as she steps forward and tugs Fíli’s coat down from your shoulders. The journey, over before it even began.
“Not dressed like that, you’re not.” She returns the coat to Fíli and unfolds the bundle under her arm. It unfurls into a thick, forest green cloak. “I was saving this for an anniversary gift, but you’ll be needing it if you don’t want to freeze at night,” she explains as she hands it to you. She squeezes your hand. “Come back safe. I’ll stall Thorin as best I can.”
“Thank you,” you whisper, wrapping the cloak around you.
“Fíli is right, we must be off,” Tauriel snaps her reins and sets off down the packed earth road. The boys fall in behind her.
“And Kíli?” Dís calls after them.
He halts his pony with a tug of the reins and turns in his saddle with a sigh. “Yes, Amad?”
“Hurry up and propose to the elf.” She slaps the haunches of your pony, sending you lurching forward into the night.
Fíli did not like it.
He couldn’t tell if it was day or night. He couldn’t see the path ahead—if there even was one. He couldn’t hear whatever Thorin was saying.
But mostly, he didn’t like how you hung limply in his arms, head lolling with each step he took. He hefted you closer to his chest, shifting you to better support your head in the crook of his arm. “You’ll be alright,” he whispered. “I’ve got you.” There was no response from the woman in his arms. It was almost upsetting, how light you felt. How small you were. You were dwarf-sized, yes, but the proportions were all wrong.
Fíli glanced up to make sure he was still with the Company. Since they’d left the main path, it was becoming harder to keep up. He’d nearly lost them a few… minutes ago? Hours? Days?
After Fíli had caught up—or let them catch up to him, he couldn’t tell—Kíli started to hold onto Fíli’s coat to stay together, like he’d once done as a child. Slowly, they fell to the back of the group.
“Let me carry her for a bit.” Kíli slipped an arm underneath you.
As the younger prince made to take you from Fíli, his blood ran hot. He only held you tighter, pulling away from Kíli. “No,” he growled. “I’m carrying her.”
“Fee, you’ll tire.”
“I won’t!” he snapped. “I have to be there when she wakes up. It has to be me! I…” His sudden burst of ferocity faded away as he looked down at you, leaving behind a hollow feeling in his chest.
If he didn’t know any better, he would think you were dead. Only the slow rise and fall of your chest proved you still lived. In rare moments, your face would twitch, ever so slightly. Holding you like this, your body as limp as a ragdoll, made his stomach feel as if it was filled with stones.
Cold talons of dread gripped his heart. “She will wake up,” Fíli whispered, his soft voice trembling. He looked back up at Kíli for reassurance. “She will. She has to. And I need to be there, it has to be me. I have to tell her… She needs to know…” A lump in his throat kept Fíli from continuing.
Kíli furrowed his brow. He’d never seen his brother look this distressed. As his eyes went back and forth from your face to Fíli’s, it dawned on him. His eyes grew wide. “You’re… Fíli… You’ve fallen in love with her, haven’t you?”
Fíli’s mouth moved silently, as if the words were stuck in his throat. But he didn’t need to answer. His face told Kíli everything he needed to know. The desperation. How his expression softened when he gazed at you. The way he gently cradled you.
“Is she your…?” Kíli didn’t need to finish; the word hung heavily in the air between the brothers. His One.
Amad had explained once how it felt to find her One in their father. She had courted a few other dwarrows, but something always gnawed at the back of her mind. But meeting him, she spoke of a warmth that filled her, how everything just felt right. Fíli had never given it much thought. None of the dams in Ered Luin particularly caught his eye. And besides, Thorin never took a wife. Sometimes a dwarf just doesn’t find their One, or care much about finding them.
But you… Fíli hadn’t felt the instant warmth and security his mother had described when he met you. It crept in slowly as you ate together, rode together, fought together. When you sent him little smiles from across the fire at dinner. When you listened intently as he showed you his blades. When you gripped his arm tightly at the first sign of danger. There was no going back for Fíli, and even though your new size worried him, the way you fit in his arms felt right. It shouldn’t feel right, he knew that. He had never heard of a dwarf finding their One in someone of an entirely different race. And of course, you were even stranger, coming from another world.
“Fee?” Kíli’s voice, unusually gentle, pulled Fíli from his thoughts.
With great effort, Fíli tore his gaze from you and looked his brother in the eye. “I don’t know what else this feeling could be,” he answered simply.
Both princes fell silent as they watched your sleeping face. “This will not be easy,” Kíli said at last.
“I know.”
