#France banned phones in school
Note
One day I would to write an essay on how Spain systematically denying Basques, Canarians, Catalans and Galicians their identity and instead calling them "Spanish" and "Hispanic" is a form of imperialism (like... Franco literally attempted ethnic cleasing against non-Castilians, did we all forget this)
Kaixo anon!
Let's not forget, it's true. But it wasn't just Franco, it started way earlier, with the arrival of the Bourbon dinasty to Spain.
The amazigh languages of the Canary islands are thought to have been lost around the late 18th century, early 19th.
1768 SPAIN: New law passed that forces to teach solely in Spanish in Aragón and Catalunya; it was extended to the whole territory in 1780.
1772 SPAIN: Another law banned all merchants to have their bookkeeping in any language but Spanish.
1776 SPAIN: Printing books in Català and Euskara was prohibited.
1789 FRANCE: disappearance of every old regional law and language. Books not written in French were burnt and the use and teaching of any other language was punished.
1794 FRANCE: Education must be solely in French, any other language became prosecuted.
1801 SPAIN: all theater plays and songs in any other language but Spanish became banned. Also dancing to non-Spanish songs.
1803 SPAIN: it's documented the first report of physical punishment for speaking in Euskera at school.
1857 SPAIN: Spanish Grammar and Ortography became the only and mandatory text book at public schools.
1862 SPAIN: Using any language but Spanish in any public document was prohibited.
1867 SPAIN: another law banning theater plays in Català or Euskera.
1876 SPAIN: Basque old laws became banned. According to Madrid newspaper "El Imparcial": "Taking away their old laws isn't enough, we now have to take their language away."
1896 SPAIN: Speaking on the phone or sending telegraphs in Basque or Català became illegal.
1902 SPAIN: Any teacher that taught in Català or Euskera began to be punished.
1903 FRANCE: another law banning Euskera & Català in school.
1923 SPAIN: Euskera & Català became banned from official events.
1925 SPAIN: every textbook not written in Spanish were removed; teachers that didn't teach in Spanish were suspended from work without pay.
1930 SPAIN: Every local institution is forced to keep their visitor's book and registrations only in Spanish.
1937 SPAIN: Prohibition of speaking Basque and every sign of Basque culture, ie using Basque names, playing Basque instruments, wearing Basque colors. The punishments were from social humiliations to jail or execution. Same thing happened in Catalunya.
1938 SPAIN: Only Spanish names accepted. In church, masses just in Spanish, with a permission of only a 10 min. preach in Basque if nobody understood Spanish.
1939 SPAIN: Signs in Euskera & Català in hotels were removed.
1940 SPAIN: Signs in Euskera & Català in justice courts and shops were removed.
1940 SPAIN: Public workers forced to speak just in Spanish or face dismissal. Every movie - national or international - is forced to have its dialogues in Spanish.
1944 SPAIN: Euskera & Català again banned from public documents and even tombs.
1947 SPAIN: Euskera & Català banned from magazines.
1948 SPAIN: Again, Euskera & Català banned from schools.
1954 SPAIN: Euskera & Català banned from every radio station.
1964 SPAIN: It became illegal to feature Euskera & Català in records or advertising.
1978-2015 SPAIN & FRANCE: Still Euskera & Català are unregulated in France, and in Spain in places like Trebiñu.
[we didn't include galego because in the source we use it didn't and we're not completely sure it was included in all these laws, but we're 95% convinced it was too, so.. include it in your heads.]
Source
The Spanish and French governments have tried SO SO SO hard during the last 300 years to erase us. Good thing is we're more stubborn and proud than them.

but like, why is it a problem for white people to complain about imperialism? as i said, im from balkans, and euimperialism actively hurts us. salaries in other eu countries are 3-4x times bigger (i could provide sources but theyre in my mothertongue), minimal wage is 4.5$ per hour but groceries in the rest of eu are cheaper than here. i went to france and found groceries being cheaper there despite their salaries and work rights being stronger. there is also an issue of eu store chains replacing ours and items being imported pushing out our farmers. people were throwing vans of oranges, native grown, into rivers as a protest due to store chains having deals with the country and preferring imported ones. eu saw a country being part of ex-yugoslavia (also a part of political third world during its existence) and said its a great chance to push its agenda onto it once it broke. other countries such as italy and hungary actively are asking for our lands to be "returned to them" despite us being a sovereign state. this too is a part of imperialism and their colonizer past.
my people, immigrants, are victims of violent crimes, and were put in concentration camps during nazi regime. our language has been banned during colonial times and weve never held colonies. in eu countries we work in construction or as cleaners, in media we are portrayed as dumb people. ive seen people calling my city "africa with electricity", usamericans straight up telling me they thought we dont have internet or phones, people saying they would never visit because there is a war going on (it ended in late 90es).
english in schools is a mandatory subject and you cant even be a waiter without it. despite being fluent in it and a writer, i cant get jobs due to usamericans seeing my name and immediately dismissing it. everyones dream and goal is to work for foreign countries because their currencies buy more. as an artist, a $25 commission buys groceries for a full week, if not more, and its more affordable for usamericans than my people. i work for newspapers as an artist for 13€ per drawing, and for my american employers as an animator for $3.25 per hour, as a cheap workforce.
im not comparing this to struggles of third world country and the effect imperialism has on them in a much more extreme way, but there are different ways in which it works for different nations. my passport isnt on part with an american one. when american ships come here there are papparazzi and news and journalists following them around, and to them it doesnt matter if the person is black or native, they just see "americans" - generous buyers and tourists. youre more likely to be a victim of hatecrime if youre serbian/albanian than a black american.
like just the privilege of english being your first language is a big one. i cant read books in english myself, and our libraries are limited. more information is available to native english speakers. which is understandable, but its a direct effect of usimperialism. news are more accessible too; especially source-checking. there is also a privilege of being able to move around the usa, thus getting more jobs, especially if you went to college. my diploma isnt on par with usa one either, and many would dismiss it immediately.
I assume you meant to send this ask to someone else; or, perhaps there's just a misunderstanding on my end. Regardless, this is all very true; balkan states in general are seen as pools of highly disposable labor by western europe, and both military and economic pressures are well in use to prevent any change to EU dominance in the region. Y'all aren't even considered 'white' in western europe (or, the US really), like you don't even get that much.

Just for fun because False gods was in the lead, here os a snippet from the False Gods. Beatrix's introduction. I think I want to publish all four but let's just start with this.
Tw: alcoholism, drug use, violence, inappropriate joke made by a drunk and high person
Nikki & Louis and Stevie version
Tumblr media
Beatrix Jones life from birth to high school
Aurora Four’s lead singer, also known as a codename “Roseblood,” was born Beatrix Rhiannon Jones on August 6th, 1998, to Micky and Clara Jones in Los Angeles. Micky and Clara are most known as the leading attorneys of many publicly famous trials like the assault of popstar Lily Marsh, arson case of indie singer Vince December and the domestic violence case of Kurt Duncan and Sally Fay. Micky Jones himself is the son of Freddie Jones, the drummer for the Hectics.
Beatrix’s childhood is calm and full of privilege. She went mostly to private schools in LA, bought by the immense success of the then newly established law firm. All the bliss of company's success was shadowed by Freddie Jones’s chaotic 2000s. As the Hectics were coming to an end, Freddie’s alcoholism and drug use was becoming a problem.
All of it cultivated in Beatrix’s 8th birthday party. Witnesses described the birthday as “peaceful, till the grandfather appeared.” Freddie Jones was described as fully intoxicated, and not able to stand still. He was loud and obnoxious, and clearly in need of help. Worst happened when Micky Jones was giving a speech for his then 8-year-old daughter, which was documented as a viral video.
The clip starts with Micky Jones talking in a calming tone. He is wearing a black suit with a red tie, which looks too formal for a kid’s birthday party if you didn’t know how much Jones’s net worth. There are no kids around him, and food looks almost fancy, which didn’t fit for a children’s party. “I can still remember when we brought Beatrix from the hospital. Clara was exhausted and I- “
In that moment Freddie rushed into the mic and grabbed the mic into his both hands. Even when he was still, he was still moving around, like he was dodging mosquitos. Everyone could hear his deep breathing while he dodged his son. “Hello everyone. There are so many good people in this children’s party. None of them are kids. I shouldn’t see this many people I have fucked in a children’s party. I should have been more supportive of my son so he would allow his daughter to have a normal party that isn’t meant to suck off his supposed clients.”
Freddie was punched in the face by his son after that. The camera cuts when everything becomes chaos. People that were attending the birthday have told after what happened after the camera cut. Freddie Jones tried to punch his son back but failed and fell to the ground. Group of men ran towards the drunk man to tackle him. Carla was crying. As for Beatrix, many people noted that they were weirded out by Beatrix’s behaviour. She was laughing uncontrollably looking at her grandfather.
After that day, Micky publicly denounced his father and filed for a restraining order for three years. Freddie himself went on to have two years of deep alcoholism and drug use, until he found his fifth wife Lola Sylvestre, and moved to France for three years.
When Beatrix was in elementary and middle school, she was described as a clam and cordial little girl that enjoyed playing the violin and the piano. Beatrix has herself described the years as the “years of suppression” where she was forced to play classical music because her father had banned any type of other music in Jones household. That music would be an inspiration to the sound of Aurora Four later, so in the end, it got its use.
When Beatrix Jones is fourteen, Freddie Jones tries to contact his son after years of no contact. That phone call is actually answered by Beatrix herself, which starts a secret contact between the two musicians of the Jones family. Even with Micky’s constant objections, Beatrix and Freddie have a tight bond that lasts till she is sixteen, after Freddie’s sudden passing. That, is us getting a head of ourselves though.

Devices including mobile phones are set to be banned from classrooms to stop them from disrupting learning, the Dutch government has announced.
The initiative is being introduced in collaboration with schools and is to take effect at the start of next year.
There will be some exceptions, including for students with medical needs or a disability, and for classes focused on digital skills.
The ban is not legally enforceable but may become so in the future.
"Even though mobile phones are almost intertwined with our lives, they do not belong in the classroom," said Education Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf.
"Students must be able to concentrate there and be given every opportunity to learn well. We know from scientific research that mobile phones disrupt this."
Various studies have found limiting children's screen time is linked to improved cognition and concentration.
Other tech including tablets and smartwatches are also included in the Dutch ban.
The government said it would be up to individual schools to agree the exact rules with teachers, parents and pupils - including whether they wanted to completely ban devices from schools.
The scheme is the result of an agreement between the ministry, schools and related organisations.
It will be reviewed at the end of the 2024/2025 school year to see how well it had worked and whether a legal ban is needed.
The announcement follows a similar decision by Finland last week.
Its government announced it would change the law to make it easier to restrict the use of phones in schools.
Other countries, including England and France, have also proposed banning mobile phones to improve learning.

UK Cracks Down on School Phone Use
Tumblr media
In a bold stride towards enhancing educational environments, the UK government has rolled out new guidance empowering schools across England to enforce a mobile phone ban during school hours. Additionally, this move aims to minimize distractions, combat online bullying, and ensure classrooms remain conducive to learning.
Empowering Educators
A United Approach Government guidance now supports headteachers in prohibiting mobile phone use throughout the school day, including break times. Moreover, this initiative seeks to standardize the approach across all schools, building on the positive outcomes already observed in institutions that have implemented similar bans.   Addressing Parental Concerns With 97% of children owning a mobile phone by the age of 12, the need for regulation has never been clearer. Furthermore, the latest data from ParentKind's National Parent Survey reveals that 44% of parents worry about their children's screen time, a concern that escalates to 50% among parents of secondary school students.
Nurturing Focused Learning Environments
Innovative Solutions for Phone Management Schools are encouraged to explore various strategies to enforce the ban, ranging from prohibiting phones on school premises to securely locking them away. Additionally, such measures aim to create a more focused learning environment, free from the disruptions of digital devices.   Behavioural Investments The government's dedication to fostering high behavioural standards is further evidenced by a £10 million investment in behaviour hubs. This initiative, supporting up to 700 schools over three years, complements the existing behaviour in schools guidance, reinforcing the commitment to a distraction-free educational setting.
A Vision for Enhanced Education
Academic Excellence on the Rise The guidance is part of a broader strategy that has seen 89% of schools rated good or outstanding by Ofsted, a significant increase from 68% in 2010. Furthermore, England's ascent in international rankings for maths and reading attests to the effectiveness of government-led educational reforms, including the introduction of the Advanced British Standard.   Leadership Support Education Secretary Gillian Keegan emphasized the role of mobile phones as distractions, underscoring the government's intent to equip teachers with the necessary tools to improve classroom behaviour. Similarly, Technology Secretary Michelle Donelan highlighted the balance between leveraging digital opportunities and safeguarding children's well-being and education.
Global Perspectives and Parental Approval
International Alignment The move aligns England with countries like France, Italy, and Portugal, which have already implemented restrictions on mobile phone use in schools. Moreover, this global perspective reinforces the necessity of adapting educational policies to modern challenges.   Parental Endorsement Jason Elsom, Chief Executive of Parentkind, voiced strong parental support for decisive action on mobile phone use in schools. Additionally, the overwhelming concern over children's screen time and support for the ban reflects a collective desire for a healthier educational environment.   Sources: THX News & Department for Education. DO STUDENTS USE PHONES DURING CLASS?
DO STUDENTS USE PHONES DURING CLASS?
(Sinh viên sử dụng điện thoại trong giờ học?)
Dr Le Van Tu-11/2/2024

I read “Bans may help protect classroom focus, but districts need to stay mindful of students’ sense of connection, experts say”
With Anna Lamb, Harvard Staff Writer,March 13, 2023.
Anna Lamb opens the article: Students around the world are being separated from their phones.
In 2020, the National Center for Education Statistics reported that 77 percent of U.S. schools had moved to prohibit cellphones  for nonacademic purposes. In September 2018, French lawmakers outlawed cellphone use for schoolchildren under the age of 15. In China, phones were banned country-wide for schoolchildren last year (2022).
***
The National Center for Education Statistics of the United States, France, and China have their reasons for acting this way. There is no denying the negative aspects when students study in the classroom and watch their phones for entertainment at the same time!
Supporters of these initiatives have cited links between smartphone use and bullying and social isolation and the need to keep students focused on schoolwork.
77%Of U.S. schools moved to ban cellphones for nonacademic purposes as of 2020, according to the National Center for Education Statistics
But some Harvard experts say instructors and administrators should consider learning how to teach with tech instead of against it.
***
That's right, lecturers consider and choose how to teach and learn with technology for students, especially how to use phones during class.
***
And “Returning back to in-person, I think it was hard to break the habit,” said Victor Pereira, a lecturer on education and co-chair of the Teaching and Teaching Leadership Program at the Graduate School of Education.
***
This thinking is true that students cannot quit the habit of using phones and neither will the future.
***
Pereira added: Through their students, he and others with experience both in the classroom and in clinical settings have seen interactions with technology blossom into important social connections that defy a one-size-fits-all mindset. “Schools have been coming back, trying to figure out, how do we readjust our expectations?”
It’s a hard question, especially in the face of research suggesting that the mere presence of a smartphone can undercut learning .
***
Certainly, the presence of inappropriate smartphones will reduce students' learning efficiency.
***
Michael Rich an associate professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and an associate professor of social and behavioral sciences at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, says that phones and school don’t mix: Students can’t meaningfully absorb information while also texting, scrolling, or watching YouTube videos.
“The human brain is incapable of thinking more than one thing at a time,” he said. “And so what we think of as multitasking is actually rapid-switch-tasking. And the problem with that is that switch-tasking may cover a lot of ground in terms of different subjects, but it doesn’t go deeply into any of them.”
***
Pereira’s approach is to step back — and to ask whether a student who can’t resist the phone is a signal that the teacher needs to work harder on making a connection. “Two things I try to share with my new teachers are, one, why is that student on the phone? What’s triggering getting on your cell phone versus jumping into our class discussion, or whatever it may be? And then that leads to the second part, which is essentially classroom management.
***
My point of view is that it is impossible for students to entertain and study at the same time.
I have taught more than 30,000 students. I have commented: STUDENTS THAT SIT AT THE HEAD OF THE TABLE USUALLY STUDY VERY SERIOUSLY AND STUDY WELL.
IN CONTRAST, STUDENTS WHO SIT BELOW CLASS ARE MAINLY SURFING ON THEIR PHONES.
***
If the lecturer just sits or stands fixedly on the podium, the area below the classroom will not absorb the lesson at all, and the students' learning results are often not good.
When starting with the first session, I made a rule and agreed with the students not to use phones during lectures. There must be student consensus.
Of course, to teach, you must be healthy and move regularly to the back of the class. Not all students are 100% self-aware.
***
Pereira continued “Design better learning activities, design learning activities where you consider how all of your students might want to engage and what their interests are,” he said. He added that allowing phones to be accessible can enrich lessons and provide opportunities to use technology for school-related purposes.
***
I also often let students use the phone to find answers to questions that the students and I ask.
Or use the phone when taking tests, taking open-ended exams and during group discussions and presentations, especially real-life examples. There are plenty of real-life examples on social networks.
In short, I still let you use your phone during class when taking tests and open-ended exams; Group discussion and presentation when using the phone to expand knowledge for the lesson.
Hopefully this article will help leaders, educational managers, and instructors on how to let students use smartphones during class. And this is the educational trend of the future.

“Cell Phone Radiation: Separating Fact from Fiction and Its Global Impact”
Are cell phones truly dangerous, or are the fears about them merely conspiracy theories? The topic of electromagnetic radiation and its impact on human health has gained significant attention, with many individuals, even those initially skeptical, beginning to question their safety. In this article, we will examine the scientific evidence surrounding cell phone radiation and EMF exposure and investigate why various countries have contrasting approaches to these concerns.
The Global Perspective:
European Restrictions: Many European countries have taken steps to limit EMF exposure, particularly for children. For instance, France has banned WiFi in nursery schools, while some countries require phones to be sold with wired earbuds to discourage use close to the body. We’ll delve into the reasons behind these measures and the scientific research that supports them.
2 . The American Stance: In contrast, the United States seems to have a more permissive attitude towards EMF radiation. We will explore the factors contributing to this divergence in approach, including regulatory differences and the role of industry interests.
Scientific Evidence: To provide a balanced perspective, this article will examine the scientific evidence supporting claims of health risks associated with EMF radiation, including headaches and cancer. We will discuss relevant studies, their findings, and the ongoing debate within the scientific community. : https://tinyurl.com/49xmn46f

England takes drastic action on student cellphones amid slew of concerns: ‘Positive and progressive step’
Tumblr media
England to Ban Cell Phones in Schools In a move aimed at curbing distraction and fostering a better learning environment, England is set to ban the use of cell phones in schools. The decision covers all school hours, including recess. This initiative is in response to concerns over students and teachers being distracted and incidents of bullying. New Guidelines The British government is gearing up to release new guidelines that will strongly recommend schools to prohibit cellphone usage during school hours. This announcement was made by the Minister for Education, who believes that this step will create a more focused educational atmosphere. Tom Bennett, an adviser on behavior management to the British Department for Education, lauded this as a "positive and progressive step forward." No Phones Even During Breaks Education Secretary Gillian Keegan declared the department's support for school principals to enforce a complete ban on cellphones, even during breaks. The objective is to address disruptive behavior and online bullying. This measure is also expected to enhance students' attentiveness during lessons, aligning with the government's broader agenda to raise educational standards. Guidance, Not Legal Mandate It's essential to note that the government's guidance is not legally binding; instead, it serves as a suggestion and best practice advice for schools. The Department for Education will soon issue clear guidelines and advisories, with exceptions for specific cases where phones are needed for health reasons. International Precedents England follows in the footsteps of other countries like Ireland, Finland, France, and Italy, which have already implemented cellphone bans in schools. These bans aim to address issues like declining academic performance and the disruption caused by mobile phones in classrooms. UNESCO's Perspective The United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) has recommended limiting cellphone use to situations that support learning outcomes. A study cited in their report found that students can take up to 20 minutes to refocus on lessons after being distracted by cellphone use. Privacy Concerns The U.K. report also highlights privacy concerns, with some applications collecting unnecessary user data. Only 16% of countries explicitly guarantee data privacy in education by law. In conclusion, the move to ban cell phones in English schools is aimed at creating a more focused and secure learning environment for students. While it's not a legal mandate, the guidelines are seen as a positive step toward improving the overall quality of education. Read the full article

My opinion on Muslims' negative reaction to the hijab and abaya ban in French public schools. via /r/atheism
My opinion on Muslims' negative reaction to the hijab and abaya ban in French public schools. Hi, so I've already been temporarily banned many times in this sub, because aparently criticizing Christianity is totally ok but when it's Islam it isn't. But yes, before you come at me, I don't mean 100% of Muslims with what I'm about to say but many of them definitly. Also, the reason I say "inmigrants" is because the vast majority of Muslims in my country (Spain) and in France the country I'm talking about are inmigrants from MENA countries, reverts are extremely rare, this isn't a racist post, I'm criticizing hipocrisy. France recently decided to ban religious clothing, like the hijab and abaya in public schools, which I think is ok because France is a secular country. The ban also includes cross necklaces, rosaries, Jewish headcoverings etc but not one other religion complained, cuz they respect the fact they live in a secular place, but Muslims want to impose their religion so bad. They say bullshit like that the French government are pedos that want to see "halfnaked girls" (yeah cuz viewing a teenage girl's hair as a sexual organ she needs to cover because men can't resist their animalistic urges is not pedophilic at all, and as we know uncovered hair is being half naked) and called French teen girls who don't dress modestly "cheap hookers" or "provoking" Ironically, if a girl in France wears a hijab at school she'll be told to take it off and will probably get in less trouble than what I've gotten into for using my phone in class or other shit I used to do, but what happens if women don't wear a hijab in Muslim countries? Yeah we all know what happened to poor Mahsa Amini. They've also used this as an oportunity to hate on LGBTQ, saying "yOu cAn chOosE yOuR prOnOuNs bUt nOt wHat yOu wEaR". They like to cry about intolerance but they are a million times more intolerant. And again, I know that this doesn't apply to 100% of Muslims but to enough of them. FT Tech News 08: ChatGPT banned in France | Baidu to launch ChatGPT-like AI product in March | Twitter removed the direct message option | Facebook sued for battery drain | CEO of Google Sundar Pichai may get a pay cut
Tumblr media
Get ready for today’s hot and latest trending tech news.
Topics We Have Covered
ChatGPT banned in France (Joined the list) Baidu to launch ChatGPT-like AI product in March Twitter back to its Twitterness | Twitter removed the direct message option Facebook sued for battery drain CEO of Google Sundar Pichai may get a pay cut
ChatGPT banned in France (Joined the list)
Ever since ChatGPT launched in November 2022, its craze is all over the world. Some say it is the future and some say it is a direct competitor of humans. The use of ChatGPT has been a topic of debate, especially in the education sector. Some people favor using ChatGPT by students whereas some are against it. The list of schools and colleges that have banned ChatGPT is getting lengthier day by day. We have already discussed in detail about ChatGPT ban in the New York education department.  Below is the list of schools and colleges that have prohibited the usage of ChatGPT and the newest member is France. New York Education Department banned ChatGPT usage by students earlier this month. Seattle Public Schools and Los Angeles Unified School District did the same in December. Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland also blocked access to this website in students’ devices and browsers. According to ABC, in Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania are among the states and provinces that have prohibited students from using ChatGPT on school internet networks. In India, Bangalore’s RV University prohibited the use of ChatGPT by students. Sciences Po, one of the best institutions in France, prohibited the usage of ChatGPT and other AI technologies. According to Reuters, the institution warned that students who disobeyed the new regulations may be expelled.
Baidu to launch ChatGPT-like AI product in March
Tumblr media
For your information, Baidu is China’s largest search engine. According to Reuters, Baidu is planning to launch an AI tool very much similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It will be launched as a separate product first and then in the future may be merged into the Baidu search engine. It will answer in a conversational way much like ChatGPT instead of providing links. Yet the name of the AI service is not known because there has been no word from Baidu. This year is going to be AI’s year. Mark my words (text😁). We have already seen Microsoft investing 1 billion dollars in ChatGPT. And surely will invest a lot more in future.  Google has also demonstrated its AI service to generate music from text, humming, and whistling. This Google product is called MusicLM.
Twitter back to its Twitterness | Twitter removed the direct message option
Earlier, Twitter had the option to direct messages when you entered any profile. But now, this option has been removed. You can check it by yourself if you do not believe this. It has been removed from the Android and iOS Twitter app but is still available in the web version. That means if you open Twitter through the browser then there is still this message option in the profile section of others. But I am not sure for how long it will be there. This also means that if you want to message someone in private, you cannot do that. You have to mention him in public and write the message. There is no privacy, right? Why did Twitter (Elon Musk) do this? My guess is that this is a way to earn money. Twitter might include this in its blue subscription. Elon Musk is a man of surprises. But seeing this from last year, now I am getting used to it. Comment about how you feel about this decision.
Facebook sued for battery drain

A former Facebook employee filed a lawsuit against Facebook claiming that Facebook intensionally drains users’ phones' batteries in the name of testing features. He was also fired from the work as he refused to participate in this because it is unethical to him. According to a New York Post report, George Hayward is a data scientist aged 33 who claims to have worked with Facebook on its Messenger application. During an internal training, he came across a document titled “How to run thoughtful negative tests?” This document included examples of how to drain a phone’s battery on purpose and secretly in the disguise of running tests. According to George, he complained to the manager who in reply said it does not matter even if harms fewer people because with this it can help more. He refused to work on it and eventually he got fired. According to the report, he joined Facebook in 2019 and got fired last November. Draining a phone’s battery is not a small problem. Let’s say you are in a dire situation and need help, be it police or anyone. You need battery to use the phone and call for help. You don’t want your phone dead in emergency situations. So from the communication point of view, it is a huge problem.
CEO of Google Sundar Pichai may get a pay cut
Google is laying off 12000 employees which are equivalent to 6% of its workforce. This is the largest layoff in Google’s 25-year history. According to reports, CEO Sundar Pichai also said that there will be cuts on annual bonuses. He said the higher the position the higher will be the bonus cut. He said all senior presidents to have bonus cuts. He did not explain in detail but it is very much possible that along with other senior-positioned employees' bonus reduction, his bonus will be deducted as well. Read the full article

3 EASY STEPS TO CHOOSE THE BEST SCHOOL LOCKERS
Educational institutions across several countries- notably France, Australia and the USA – have blanket banned mobile phones on school premises. As UK education secretary Mr Gavin Williamsons contemplates a restriction on mobile phones in schools- the UK is all set to join this league.
With a potential Government-enforced nationwide ban on mobile phones in classrooms imminent, many schools are contemplating buying new lockers or upgrading the existing ones.
What Purpose Can School Lockers Fulfill?
For decades, long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing and custom-made lockers have played a crucial role in educational institutes.
Installing heavy-duty lockers on the premises provides a sense of security and offers a safe space to store everything from mobile phones to books and sports gear.
In addition, storage units help take the load off a student’s shoulders and reduce distractions during academic sessions. School lockers also allow the facility managers to keep the premises clutter-free and organised.
Since having good-quality lockers is imperative for creating a conducive environment in the school, it’s essential to choose the right product.
Which Are The Crucial Points You Should Consider When Buying School Lockers?
Installing new lockers or upgrading the existing school locker requires a significant amount of investment. It is, therefore, vital to analyse multiple factors before you narrow down the options.
Durability, security and functionality are some of the critical factors to bear in mind when purchasing new lockers or upgrading the current locker room.
1.  Durability For Better Return On Investment
A school locker has to endure incredible wear and tear throughout its life-cycle. Therefore, durability and longevity become the number one priority when planning to purchase a new locker. Traditionally, metal and wooden lockers have been the popular choice. However, these lockers are susceptible to corrosion, scratches and dents. Therefore, many schools are switching to high-density polyethylene plastic lockers.
Plastic lockers provide strength and durability, ensuring a good return on your investment over a long period of time. Impermeable to water and humidity, these lockers don’t rust, corrode or form scratches, and they last for years to come.
Additionally, these lightweight lockers don’t require repairs frequently- you can save thousands of dollars on annual maintenance.
2.  Multipurpose Lockers Gives You An Added Advantage
Every school is different, and so are their storing specifications. The principle of “one size fits all” hardly works with school lockers.
For a pre-school, having huge lockers is not feasible. Similarly, if you want to buy lockers for college students, they need to be spacious with a smart locking mechanism. One of the crucial factors you need to consider while purchasing a locker is adaptability and its ability to be customised.
Rotationally moulded HDPE lockers offer unmatched flexibility and customisation options. Whether you want phone cubbies to safekeeping mobiles or wide lockers for storing large sports gear, HDPE lockers seamlessly accommodate your specific storage requirements.
3.  Great Locking System Is The Key To A Secure Storage
Lockers without an excellent and secure locking mechanism are practically useless. A robust locking system ensures unmatched security and keeps the attempt of vandalism and theft at bay. It’s vital to choose the right locking system. Locker manufacturers offer a multitude of options – right from traditional padlocks to high-tech RFID tags.
Depending on your storage and security requirements, you can determine which locking system would work best for your organisation. For example, a simple padlock is suitable for primary students, while the same locking system might not work for secondary schools.
Would you like to explore customised, lightweight, stackable, heavy-duty and secure school lockers in the UK? Contact Cool Lockers today. Call 0128 523 8954 or write to us at [email protected]

Recently, Karnataka High Court ordered a hijab ban in all educational classrooms after protests. The highcourt said "the aim of the regulation to create a safe space & the ideals of egalitarianism should be readily apparent to all students".
BJP said they don't have a bias towards Brahmins & hindu shows of religious symbolism but given the way things are going with hindutva and the rigid rules around the ganga, i feel like this is an outright lie, esp from this particular political party.
I feel conflicted because muslim women are being banned from education, coming to university, giving exams because they "want" to wear their hijab. Personally I believe the hijab, esp in India is patriarchal and part of the whole pure woman issue. But also I don't think harassing muslims & banning their shows of religion is constitutional in any way. Currently the ban is being challenged in the supreme court.
I'm all for promoting equality and removing religious separation, but this feels disingenuous from the government's side. Banning students from speaking Urdu seems to me that it's more than just uniforms in school. One of the judges likened the constitution to the Bhagavad Gita which makes him clearly biased towards Hinduism.
I can't decide if this ban is for the greater good or not. On one hand, I do not think a hijab is representative of empowerment, rather the opposite. But I also believe in letting women wear what they want (though this depends, Islam threatening women with hell isn't exactly a free choice). With the elections going on & some next year, this just feels like a way to cater to alt right Hindus who are already wanting a Hindu nation.
What are your thoughts?
I forgot to mention: Punjabis are allowed to wear their pagadis, which are also a show of religion.
I think you're right and it smells fishy and biased.
Under liberal secularism, a law should be necessary (solve a problem), should not exceed what is necessary, should have neutral language, and should be applied consistently.
For example, while it's often been misrepresented, France's "burqa ban" is a ban on full-face coverings to ensure that people (women) are consenting, present and engaged in society, and not being smuggled through society under duress or manipulation.
Not to be trite, but my iPhone has settings for Face ID that reflect the same principle.
https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/iph646624222/ios
Tumblr media
That is, I must actively be engaged with my phone before it will authenticate using face recognition.
While the intent might be to protect Muslim women from coercion and isolation, the language of the French law as written is completely neutral, as it is also applicable to wearing a zentai as it is a burqa.
And this is the point. That laws need to be neutral and applied consistently. And yes, citing religious scripture as rationale or justification indicates it's not neutral. But using the word “egalitarian,” the government seems to at least recognize it’s supposed to be unbiased. But it’s doing a particularly shoddy job of this pretence.
Being "conflicted" isn't necessarily a bad thing. I actually think it's a good thing in many ways. It means you can see the conflict between society's interests (the state) and the rights of the individual, as well as your current political climate. Again, if we consider France, they had the chutzpah to ban all conspicuous religious symbols in schools. And again, it's completely neutral in wording, as it should be, and applies to all religions.
If it was true to its word, your government would have proposed something much more akin to the French law, more universal, and applied and enforced consistently. And then you would probably be much more satisfied. But being that consistent is something so politically contentious that even few highly secular governments would be willing to implement it, much less religiously captured ones.
The more I know about Islam and hijab, the more convinced I am, like you, that no woman freely, without duress, influence or coercion "chooses" hijab, and it begins by manipulating, threatening and indoctrinating young girls into Islam's messed-up purity culture when they have no means of defence. And that's true even in countries like Canada and the US (see: Yasmine Mohammed).
That said, I think as far as the "greater good" goes, it's not being done for that. I think what you're asking is does the ends justify the means, and I'd have to say no. We can't very well tout the superiority of liberal, secular ethics, and then abandon them to get what we want.
I think it matters how we solve our problems. If for no better reason than a group that feels singled out is more likely to radicalize. As it is, it sounds like this law might get shot down in the court as being unconstitutional. If it doesn't, the local Muslim population will have just been handed a righteous holy struggle. Even if it does, the government has revealed its agenda and intentions, possibly creating the same anyway.
There's a principle whose wording and author (Kant?) I can't quite find right now, but in essence is is that society should be created without knowing which part one will play in it - rich or poor, majority or minority. That is, don't create laws that you would benefit from that you wouldn't also want to be subjected to. This is why neutrality is important.

Being Damian Wayne's Twin Sister Would Include:
Headcanons.
❝Exactly. I don't ask my dog to drive, and I don't ask the Justice League to solve my problems.❞
— Damian Wayne, Adventures of the Super Sons #9: Showdown on Hexworld
Tumblr media
TRIGGER WARNING: Cursing, (Damian’s) death. Mentions of toxic masculinity and internalized misogyny, nightmares, blood, knives.
Headcanon masterlist.
When people ask you, “So, which one of you is the evil twin?” Damian always glowers, and you always motion to him.
You look disturbingly alike when only your eyes are showing; Damian’s got long lashes. Talia taught you a good tactic for tag-teaming in combat as kids was to pull up your hinged balaclavas and make the enemy think there was only one of you, that they’re seeing double.
Or for one of you to hang back while the other attacks as a distraction before the other knocks them out from behind.
Tumblr media
Obviously, this won’t work when the two of you start filling out, but it works when you’re kids. It’s the reason why, even off the field, the two of you usually wear a matching outfits with hoods.
You utilize the same methods when she sends you to live with Bruce.
You don the Robin costume just like he does, much to the rest of the Batfam’s confusion (both because they weren’t expecting it and because they can’t tell you apart either), but sticking with the “red” theme, you go by Redstart.
There’s a rumor on the street that Robin V. is a meta that can teleport.
The two of you are freakishly good at mimicking the other’s voice and mannerisms, which makes it even harder for your family.
Jason tells you two about April Fools Day, and you make the most of it. Of course, Damian’s a pain in the a$$ and decides to go around pretending to be you and getting into trouble. You’re banned from the mall, and you still have no idea why.
The two of you can communicate with just an impassive expression (Dick says it looks like a prime example of twin telepathy to anyone else), but anyone close to you knows sh¡t’s about to hit the fan when the two of you look at each other and smirk.
If it’s something you can’t communicate nonverbally, you use your cryptophasia.
Tumblr media
Cryptophasia is a language developed by twins when they’re learning to talk. Most of them grow out of it, you and Damian decided to keep developing it so it became more of a conlang. No one else has been taught to speak it, and they never will be. It’s for emergencies only.
Sun Tzu’s The Art of War was your Bible growing up, and the two of you call out verses when you fight together and need the other to understand a tactic (you both inherited Bruce’s eidetic memory, so you’ve got it memorized).
When you get too big to pull off the which-is-which game, you make your own costume and become the true Redstart.
It’s basically Damian’s Robin uniform (the Super Sons’s version is the only one I’ll accept), but the boots and gloves are black, the biceps have a white stripe, the lining of the cape is white (the lining of the hood is black), the gold accents become white, it has a zipper down the front instead of clasps, and the mask becomes black (including the eyes). The waterline of the eyes is white. Like a painted redstart.
Tumblr media
If Damian’s into animals, you’re into plants. The two of you find common ground on the fact that pollution sucks, so when you walk Titus, you take a trash bag and gloves with you to pick up litter as you go.
You did not want to go to Jon’s school.
Not because you don’t like Jon (because you do), but because you know you could run intellectual circles around every one of those snot-nosed brats.
School is stupid. Especially because the American education system is subpar; everything about it is.
You hardly pay attention in class. You do all of the homework a week ahead of time incase something comes up. Usually you’re doing next week’s homework in class. You’ve written entire papers on your phone in Google Docs in the middle of class to be printed out later.
If you’ve already done everything, Damian’s usually drawing and you’re daydreaming or you’re working on a case on your phone.
The teachers are always trying to catch you not paying attention, but you little sh¡ts can always answer their questions.
Damian’s closest with Dick, but you’re closest with Tim. You admire his ability to plan ahead (see the entirety of the Red Robin comics), and you know that he’s better than both your father and your grandfather; you want to be as good as him when you grow up.
It takes a long time to wash the toxic masculinity and internalized misogyny our of your head, to learn that your grandfather’s ideas of “strength” were wrong, that it’s okay to lean on someone besides Damian, that you can be just as strong as your brother and still be feminine, that there are acceptable emotions besides anger.
Tumblr media
Actually, your father teaches you that anger is more likely to get you killed. He won’t let you go into the field when he knows your angry.
It’s harder to drill out of you than your instinct to kill.
There’s a Lebanese restaurant called Tarbooshes (Teen Titans Special #1) the two of you go to when you’re feeling homesick. They make ox blood soup the same way your mother did, and it’s the only non-vegetarian thing Damian will eat for that very reason.
It’s nice to have a place to go where they know you by name and know what you want when you tell them “the usual.” It’s nice to have a place where you’re not a Wayne or an Al Ghul, where you’re just [Y/N] and Damian.
You disappear for an hour on your birthday to eat there. Bruce has asked you were you go, but you kept that between the two of you.
Speaking of birthdays, you’re eleven minutes older than him. He was six pounds and ten ounces (Batman & Robin #0?), and you were a solid seven.
After Damian died, you go to Tarbooshes to feel close to him.
Tumblr media
You were doing all right with the no-killing thing until the night Damian died.
Heretic never stood a chance.
He looked so much like Damian it gave you nightmares, though. Nightmares where you killed your twin brother and woke up sobbing.
Damian didn’t give you a speech in his last moments. He just looked over at you and said in your cryptophasia, “I’m sorry.”
Tumblr media
Not “I love you.” Not “Take care of them for me.” You knew that; you’d do that. He didn’t have to tell you, and he didn’t have to ask.
Just “I’m sorry.” Sorry that you were the one that was left behind.
It’s one thing to lose a family member, to lose a friend, or to lose a lover. It’s another to lose half of your soul.
The two of you had always feared you would die apart. It had always been a possibility; you weren’t stupid enough to think, “It’ll never happen to me.” Because it definitely could.
And it had.
You wanted to run away from everything. Even just for a while. Go to one of your safe houses in London or France or whatever and just — you didn’t know — stare at the wall until you felt better? But you’d made that unspoken promise to Damian — “I’ll take care of them for you; don’t worry.” — to take care of Titus and Catfred and Jerry and Batcow and Goliath, to take care of Alfred and Bruce and Dick and Jason and Cassandra and Tim, to take care of Jon and Colin and Maps.
You avoided the cave. And if you had to go down there for some reason, you refused to look at the Robin suits.
Tumblr media
Dick noticed. He asked if you wanted them taken down, even just for a while. You gave him a look like he was nuts and said, “No.”
Jon was a mess. More of a mess than you were, somehow.
You’d shown up at the Kents’s. Jon was out doing Superboy things with Clark and Conner. Lois was the only one home.
You nearly scared her out of her skin when you materialized behind her and asked, “Is Jon home? It’s important.”
He had to know first. He deserved to.
For all he put up with from you two, he deserved to be the first to know when one of you was f*cking dead.
Lois, of course, bless her heart, had the mom instincts to know that you were in no way, shape, or form okay even when you were trying so hard to hold yourself together. She asked you what’s wrong, and it’s what made you break.
Your lip trembled. “He’s gone.”
“Who’s gone?”
“Damian,” your voice broke. “He’s dead.”
Jon came home to find you in his living room in your Robin uniform, covered in Damian’s and Heretic’s blood, snot running down your lip, sobbing in his mothers arms and knew what happened without having to ask. He did anyway.
Tumblr media
When you and Jon both finally passed out, your Uncle Clark flew you back to the Batcave. No one was in any condition — not even Alfred — so he carried you up to your room; took your boots, mask, cape, and gloves off; and tucked you in. Then he went to find Bruce because there was no doubt he was losing it too.
Bruce doesn’t tell you anything about trying to find a way to bring him back without the Lazarus pit because he doesn’t want to get your hopes up.
You walk into your room one day to find Damian sitting there reading the dissertation (the requirement was three pages, not 120, but your teacher would just have to deal with your coping mechanisms) you had been working on for your World History class and left up on your laptop while on patrol.
He said with the utmost indifference, “You’ve made some good points, Sister,” and, of course, you pulled out a knife and attacked him because this was — was — was some shapeshifting alien or hologram tech or a cruel joke — your twin was dead, this wasn’t funny, whoever did this was going to pay.
Tumblr media
He met you blow-for-blow and flipped away from you before saying, “And here I was expecting a warm welcome,” in your cryptophasia.
“Brother?”
“Tt. Obviously.”
Yeah, a college level thesis. You’re smart. You inherited Bruce’s eidetic memory and were raised by assassins.
You learned seven languages and wrote five doctoral theses by the time your teeth came in, wrote your first letter to a newspaper editor when you were two, could’ve had a geology doctorate when you were seven (Super Sons #1), and it only took you a week to learn the language on Takron-Galtos. You’re smart.
You’re also incredibly skilled. You learned to drive when you were five (Super Sons #1), your mother trained you to go for weeks without eating (Adventures of the Super Sons #6), you can micro-sleep for days and converse with half your brain asleep, can use a muscular contraction to move your liver out of the way of a blade (Nightwing #20), and can place yourself in a deep trance to heal damages caused by a hematoma (also #20).
(My dumba$$ didn’t note what Super Sons/Adventure of the Super Sons comic I was reading when I took notes, so I don’t have all of them noted in the two above bullet points. But that’s where they’re from. If I end up rereading them, I’ll edit this and add the comic numbers.)
The first time on patrol you thought Bruce was gonna die, you called him Baba.
The next evening, when Dick came to visit the cave, he turned to you and Damian and asked, “So, which one of you called him Dad?”
“How’d you know?” you asked.
“He’s smiling the way he did the day I called him Tati.”
“He’s not smiling,” Damian pointed out.
“He is on the inside.”
Tumblr media
Can we talk about how royally the Arkham Knights game screwed up Tim Drake? (Though, everything seems to screw up Tim one way or another, I guess.) Why does he look like a quidditch player in the gif above the cut?

aft hawkmoth is defeated, paris banned any outside superheroes from entering bc lb and cn said that they had asked the superheroes (e.g justice league, up to u) for help, but all they got was a message saying that they should not be faking this for attention. soon, said superheroes try to come into paris to help aft hawkmoth was alr defeated and theyre arent allowed in. lb and cn show up and the superheroes insult then abit bc they arent allowed in so paris and lb and cn go off at them
Here you go!! Hope you like the story! Let me know what you think!
Ladybug and Chat Noir were very worried when they first became heroes. They had no experience as heroes, nor any idea how to track down Hawkmoth. They knew that people could request aid from the Justice League for their cities if something was wrong. Of course, it was mainly used to ask for just humanitarian help, typically after some kind of natural disaster. But Ladybug and Chat Noir didn’t know what else to do. So, they sent in a request, asking for their help. They never received a response to their initial request. As time went by, they kept trying to reach out to the Justice League. After their fifth message, they received a response, but not the one they were hoping for. When the two young heroes saw a message from the Justice League help line, they felt excited. They thought they would finally get some help and maybe this nightmare would be over soon. But the message didn’t say that help was on the way. Instead all it said was:
This help line is for real emergencies only. You two should not be clogging the line with these ridiculous jokes. This is not the kind of thing to fake to get attention. Please do not contact this help line again. -Justice League Assistance Requests
Ladybug and Chat Noir were disheartened. They had truly hoped that these heroes would help them. How could they think this is fake? It is true that there is no apparent damage, but Ladybug had explained that was only due to her powers.
 ------------------
Ladybug and Chat Noir did not listen to the message and kept sending messages that became more and more desperate as the akumas grew stronger. Eventually though, it became too dangerous to keep asking for help. Ladybug and Chat Noir both realized that if the Justice League came to Paris, they ran the risk of the League becoming akumatized. If any member of the League became akumatized, it would be disastrous. Ladybug realized that they couldn’t risk the heroes coming to Paris anymore. So, her and Chat Noir went to the mayor. After that day, foreign superheroes were banned from entering Paris.
  ------------------
After three years of fighting, Ladybug and Chat Noir had finally defeated Hawkmoth. His capture was international news. Paris was finally telling the full story. The mayor finally told the world all about Hawkmoth and his reign of terror. The world was shocked that they hadn’t known what was happening. None were more shocked than Bruce Wayne. He remembered those messages from all those years ago in Paris. Those kids had been telling the truth? He could hardly believe it; their messages had seemed so ridiculous that they had to be fake. Magic jewelry that is powered by tiny gods did not sound real at all. Batman knew it was time for damage control. He called a meeting with the other founding members of the league and went straight to the Watchtower.
  ------------------
When Bruce arrived, he saw that most of the other members were already present. Several of them were confused and were asking Bruce why they were there. Bruce just played the news clip from this morning. Several of the other leaguers were shocked. Green Lantern spoke up, “These kids again? They were actually telling the truth?” Bruce turned to him, “Yes it appears they were. This is going to look bad on us, that we didn’t help. Whether we believed them or not, it is important that we go to Paris now. Offer our apologies for not helping sooner and help them re-build. I imagine there is a lot left damaged after fighting such a powerful foe.” Bruce had clearly already forgotten that in the original messages Ladybug had said she could fix all the damage. Shows how much he actually listened to the original requests. With that settled, the different members prepared to leave for Paris. They tried using the zeta tube they had set up, but they got an error message saying the tube in Paris was too damaged. The leaguers assumed it had been damaged in one of the fights and decided to zeta to a different location in France and then fly the rest of the way to Paris. They had no idea about the cold greeting they would soon receive.
  ------------------
Marinette had been at home for the day when the news was announced. She may not have revealed her identity to the public, but she did tell her parents finally about her being Ladybug. They were so proud, and had agreed that Marinette deserved the day off from school, considering she had just saved Paris. Marinette was just planning on spending a relaxing day at home when she got a message. She had set up a website with a way to message Ladybug back when Hawkmoth was still active. This was so citizens could inform her of akuma attacks quicker. She wasn’t expecting to get a message on it today, but around noon, there was a new message. This message came from the mayor’s office. It read:
Ladybug, we have spotted different members of the Justice League approaching the city. Since the ban on superheroes is still in effect, we will turn them away. However, we would feel more comfortable doing so if you and Chat Noir were there to help. Please hurry to the Western border of the city.
Marinette was shocked. The Justice League was coming now? Why the sudden interest in Paris? Regardless, she quickly pulled out her phone and called Adrien, who was also staying home for obvious reasons. They had revealed their identities to each other after the final battle, and were ecstatic to find out they had been that close to each other all along. The rest of the miraculous team also revealed their identities, and everyone was shocked to see that Ladybug and Chat Noir were Marinette and Adrien. Adrien picked up quickly, “Marinette? What’s up?” “Can you talk privately right now?” Adrien knew that meant that Marinette needed to talk about superhero stuff, so he made sure the door to his room was locked and then said, “Yeah, I’m good. What’s up?” Marinette replied quickly, “We have guests coming to the city. Apparently, someone spotted members of the Justice League heading this way and are worried they will try to enter the city. The mayor asked both of us to be there to help when they turn them all away. He asked us to meet at the western border of the city as quick as we can.” Adrien was shocked. Why was the League coming? They hadn’t cared before. “I’ll be right there milady. Let the rest of the team know, we may need the back up. See you soon.” With that, he hung up and transformed. Marinette quickly sent a message in the group chat for they had set up for the members of the miraculous team, telling everyone to meet at the western border quickly. She then transformed as well and went to join Chat. He quickly rushed to the border of the city where he saw the police force, the mayor, and Ladybug all waiting. He joined them and watched for the Justice League. They didn’t have to wait long before the Justice League members appeared on the horizon. Officer Raincomprix used a megaphone and ordered all of the heroes to land before they entered the city. Chat Noir got ready to face the Justice League and tell them to get lost.
  ------------------
When the leaguers arrived, they were expecting the citizens of Paris to be glad to see them. But instead, they were glared at and ordered to stop at the border of the city.  The leaguers were confused, this is a very different reception than they were expecting. They stopped and Batman stepped forward, “We heard about your defeat of Hawkmoth and have come to offer our help in rebuilding your city.” Then a younger girl in a ladybug themed outfit and a boy in a cat outfit stepped forward. Batman recognized them as the kids from the videos, what were their names again? Oh right, Ladybug and Chat Noir. Behind them he saw other kids in similar outfits, however he didn’t remember seeing any of them in the videos sent to the league. He was expecting them to thank him and the other heroes for the help, even if they were still upset from the earlier rejection. But that was not what happened at all. The two kids were very calm, but he could tell they were still angry. The girl called Ladybug took the lead, “Your help is not wanted, or even needed. The city is perfectly fine. Regardless, you are not welcome in Paris. None of you are. Foreign superheroes are banned in Paris. Only the miraculous team is allowed to reside in this city.” The Justice League were shocked, to say the least. Batman tried to argue with them, “The city can’t possibly already be prepared. Fights like what was discussed on the news cause massive amounts of damage. They couldn’t possibly be fixed overnight. And how could you ban superheroes?” Chat Noir rolled his eyes, “Shows how much you actually listened to our original request for help. We told you back then that the reason there was no damage to speak of is because Ladybug is able to reverse all damage caused by the akumas and other miraculous. In other words, the damage from the final fight was fixed immediately. And we banned heroes after you all refused to give us any aid. We needed to make sure that you didn’t just storm in later and try to take over or get akumatized. That would have been disastrous. You can’t just suddenly decide to come and help after ignoring us for three years.”
  ------------------
Superman stepped forward at this point, “We didn’t mean to ignore the situation. But you have to admit it sounds pretty far-fetched. Magical jewelry that is powered by ancient gods and evil butterflies possessing people doesn’t sound reasonable.” Ladybug got angry hearing that, “Why doesn’t it? You have several magic users in the Justice League, like Zatanna. You even have Dr. Fate who is a sorcerer that inhabits a magic helmet and possesses people who wear the helmet. That isn’t much different from the miraculous. Are you all seriously so close-minded that you didn’t even consider the possibility?”
  ------------------
That comment made several of the leaguers angry. They didn’t want to admit that they were in the wrong, but Ladybug was right. They had several magic users, and the Helmet of Fate is pretty similar to a miraculous. But these kids couldn’t possibly know what they are doing. The Justice League needed to step in and help get things back to normal. They were sure that they could get the city to listen. Batman turned to the mayor and said, “That ban is hardly necessary anymore. It wasn’t even necessary in the first place. These second-rate heroes just convinced you of it because their pride was hurt. Don’t you think it is time to lift it? I am sure we could help get your city back on track quicker than these children playing at heroes.” Ladybug and Chat Noir’s blood was boiling after hearing that. How dare Batman act all high and mighty and talk above them like he was superior. He had spent the last three years ignoring the problem and now wants to suddenly come in and take over. This is exactly why they put the ban in place. The mayor seemed just as angry as Ladybug and Chat Noir, “Sir, like Ladybug and Chat Noir said, you are not welcome here. They have done a fantastic job in not only dealing with Hawkmoth, but also helping the citizens return to normal.” Batman was furious, they were still going to deny them entry? The Flash stepped forward now, “Surely, with the focus being on Hawkmoth, crime rates have risen. That isn’t the fault of these kids, they wouldn’t know how to juggle dealing with Hawkmoth and also petty crime. But we can help you get that handled.” Mayor Bourgeois shook his head, “Actually, they handled both responsibilities well. Even though we told them not to worry about petty crime, and that the local police would handle it, they still patrolled every night to help. Crime rates are at an all time low here. Now I am not going to tell you again. You are not welcome here. Leave at once.”
  ------------------
The Justice League couldn’t believe it, Batman exploded, “You would seriously leave the security of your city in the hands of these wannabe heroes?” Green Lantern added, “Yeah, they are just little kids with some fancy jewelry playing pretend. You need real heroes!” The mayor and police were furious. How dare these people belittle their heroes. The mayor was now yelling as well, “Do not speak about them so rudely. They are more heroic than you seem to be. Now get out of my city.”
  ------------------
The Justice League still refused to leave. They hurled insults at the young heroes and demanded to be let in to the city. They even tried to force their way past the blockade of police officers. Ladybug turned around and gestured to Pegasus. The leaguers did not see any of this, they just heard someone call “Voyage!” They saw a giant blue portal open and then swallowed them up. When the light faded, they saw that they were in the middle of a field somewhere. Batman used his GPS and saw that they had been moved all the way to a corn field in the middle of Nebraska. He was furious, how dare they force him away through a teleport. Paris needed more competent heroes than a bunch of children playing pretend.
  ------------------
Over the next several weeks, the league continued to try and enter the city. None of their attempts worked though. They tried just flying through, entering covertly as their civilian identities, and a bunch of other plans. Somehow, the leaguers kept getting teleported right back out of the city, in increasingly strange locations. Eventually, the leaguers just decided to abandon Paris completely. They would not help Paris with any situation. Their plan was to watch the city fall to pieces and not offer any help unless they lifted that ridiculous ban. But that never happened. It irritated Batman and the others to no end that those second-rate heroes were doing a good job and that the ban wasn’t lifted. So, the leaguers resumed their attempts to break into the city. They did not count on the young heroes putting their actions in the public eye.
  ------------------
Ladybug and Chat Noir were still furious at how the leaguers behaved. They had thought that the Justice League was full of good and kind people, but the members they had met were certainly not good and kind. They were forceful and insulting. And even once they were told that they were not welcome in Paris, they kept trying to come into the city anyway. Poor Pegasus was exhausted from constantly having to teleport them away. Ladybug knew they had to do something or those leaguers would keep coming back. So, they made a video. This video told the whole world that the Justice League had ignored their calls for help all those years ago and had left young heroes to fend for themselves. It also talked about how the league had shown up after the fact and tried to bully their way into the city they had previously ignored, despite the fact they were told about the superhero ban. The video ended by talking about how they were fed up with the league members having no respect for the laws of Paris and still trying to sneak into the city. The miraculous team posted the video online and sent it to all the major news networks they could get a hold of. The public was outraged when they saw the video. The heroes they trusted were trying to break the laws in Paris? The video and public outcry seem to have worked. It had been several weeks since the video was posted, and no leaguer had tried to break into the city since. The miraculous team was ecstatic; they didn’t have to keep forcing the heroes out of the city. At last, the miraculous team and all of Paris could finally enjoy peace.
