hey if you're the type of writer that's like me where you tend to write specific scenes first that vaguely weave together into a plot, you might like using obsidian as a writing app.

my frustration with other writing applications is that i will write my scenes out of order and it's hard to move things around and rearrange them on a regular document.

but with obsidian there's this canvas feature where you can just write all your scenes and plot moments on these little cards that you can freely rearrange. you can color code them and connect them too.

here's the canvas i've created for my current multi-chapter fic: (if you zoom in you can see all the text in each card this what it looks like zoomed out)

as you can see, i color code them based off chapters and will group them next to a document card with the working title of the chapter. anything not color-coded are scenes that don't have a proper place quite yet or it's just world building references. this app can also be good for note-taking and collecting research!

best of all, it's FREE!!! the only downside is that if you want your stuff to sync across devices, you do have to pay for that. i constantly hop between my laptop and desktop so i pay for the syncing. but if you write on only one device it's completely free! EDIT: some reblogs have mentioned that you can apparently link your own personal cloud storage (dropbox, gdrive, icloud, etc.) to obsidian for free! that way you can access your obsidian vaults across multiple devices without the extra fee. i don't mind supporting the devs but just something to look into if costs is a concern.

i typically use it for organizing my thoughts for a first draft. once i get all the scenes arranged and mostly written out, i will copy and paste them into ellipsus (also free & highly recommended as a google doc alternative) so that they're all in one document that i can edit.

1930s Horror Film Posters

This was a huge project, and now they're finally all together: A collection of 10 posters for horror movies from the 1930s - with a personal, legally distinct twist! Having my legacy feature actors in the 1930s gave me the perfect idea for Simblreen. Horror movies (especially monster movies) were a huge genre in that decade, so I just had to make my characters star in some of the most famous ones. The text is entirely in Simlish, but the (main) actor names have been changed to the ones of the sims shown on the respective poster, while the others names are the same. Also, whenever a studio is credited, I've changed it to the Plumbob Studio.

I usually make spreadsheets for NaNoWriMo every year, but after all the *waves hand at the scandals and assorted nonsense* that, I'm not doing NaNo myself anymore. So I made a new spreadsheet, inspired by the old website to still get the NaNo feeling without using the site.

For anyone who wants to use it, it's available here for download. I've also put it up on Google Docs here, but it looks a little different because the fancier chart effects aren't supported. You'll have to download it or make a copy to be able to use it. (Please don't ask me for edit access, that won't work. File > Make a copy, and you'll have it on your own GDrive.)

I also made this in four other designs, available here. They all come with character and plot development sheets, and pages for novel info, chapters, timeline, etc. There are also versions for other months because really, there's no need to be confined to November, right?

And I've also updated my NaNo spreadsheets for anyone who wants to use those!

Please note that I'm an amateur at making things, but I love decorating. This house can be said to be a decorative house. Because I myself am a maximalist. TADAIMA OKAERI SPECIAL DVD BOOKLETS

Happy New Year! (Can I still say this at this time??) And good morning!! Long time no see!!

I got permission to use this pages and edit them a while ago. The books are short and I thought it'd take a short amount of time to have them ready, but life always gets in the way and it took a bit for suc a short thing, but they're done and that's what's important, right?

These booklets came with the DVDs of the Tadaima Okaer Anime. It's a short story (4 pages long) with a description of the episodes in the DVD and a description of te characters, but they're cute, as anything surrounding this Omegaverse.

How to watch Legend of Hei in the original Chinese audio with English subs

In honor of Movie 2 coming out on July 18, here’s a guide on how to watch Movie 1 (and the series).

But first, some context: The 2019 movie is actually a prequel to the flash animation series, which first came out in 2011. And the world of Legend of Hei is so vast and complex that there’s even a prequel prequel manhua of the story, which is set hundreds of years of back. (The manhua is called Lanxi Zhen, and it has different protagonists.)

If you want to engage with the story chronologically, then the order is: manhua -> movie 1 -> series. But you don’t have to do that. In fact, I myself don’t read the manhua because I couldn’t get used to Xiaohei not being there.

Movie 1 can be watched on its own without any context from the series and the manhua, and I think going into it blind would actually be more enjoyable. We don’t know yet what events will be covered in Movie 2, but I’m guessing it’s gonna pick up from where Movie 1 left off. I doubt it will cover the events in the series, so it’s probably safe to put off the series until after Movie 2. But if you do decide to watch the series, then just Season 1 should do for now, since it’s pretty much slice-of-life. Season 2 is where it gets more plot-y.

Movie 1

It’s available in Netflix with English subs, but I honestly don’t recommend it. Netflix literally translated the characters’ names into English, and it’s so cringe 😩. I also compared the Netflix subs with some fansubs, and the Netflix version really took a lot of creative liberties in the translation. (There are also English and Japanese dubs available on Netflix, but I am begging you to watch it in Chinese)

Here’s a link to the movie with English fansubs. Download the file and play it in a media player that can open .mkv files with soft subtiles, like VLC. The file has two type of subtitles, one labeled [Troy] and the other labeled [Netflix]. Make sure you’ve selected the former.

Series

Here’s a GDrive folder link containing all episodes of season 1 with English subs in 1080p. To watch, just follow the same instructions under Movie 1.

Edit: If you don’t wanna download, you can also watch it on YouTube. Here’s a link to all S1 eps combined into one 720p video.

By the way, each episode in the series is only 5-8 minutes each, so don’t be surprised that it’s too short.

Series (Season 2)

Although the fandom calls it season 2, it’s actually just a continuation of the ever ongoing series. “Season 2” just covers episodes 29-40.

S2 has no official English subs, but this channel on YouTube has fansubs of all the eps separately.

Edit: But I prefer the subs in this combined version because it’s more complete and accurate

Happy holidays! I've never seen a translation for the tracks from "Sunday Filled With Vampires" drama CD before, so I'm sharing my translation for the second track: Greed Pair's Love Affairs 🫰 (first and third track will take a few weeks for me to work on!)
