The increasing adoption of game engines across various industries, including education, healthcare, and advertising, is expected to continue the rapid growth of the market during the forecast period.
The increasing popularity of mobile gaming drives the market growth of game engines. With the sustained rise in popularity of smartphones and tablets, mobile gaming has become more accessible than ever, increasing demand for games that can be played on the go. Platforms like Unity and Unreal Engine have been able to capitalize on this trend by providing developers with tools and resources to create high-quality mobile games quickly and efficiently.
The primary advantage of using game engines for mobile game development is the ability to create games for multiple platforms. Companies offer support for a range of platforms, including iOS, Android, console, and PC. This allows developers to create games once and deploy them to multiple platforms, saving time and resources. The rapid growth in popularity of the eSports industry is also driving market demand, with esports having millions of players & viewers globally. As it continues to grow, companies like Unity and Unreal Engine are becoming more crucial for creating high-quality games that can be played competitively.
Game engines offer features such as real-time physics simulation and network optimization, which ensure smooth and responsive gameplay in online multiplayer matches. Besides providing tools for game development, these platforms are used to create specialized tools and software for eSports. For example, Unity has launched Unity for eSports, a set of tools and services designed specifically for the industry. The platform offers features like match management, player profiles, and live streaming integration, making it easier for organizers to manage and broadcast eSports events.
The accessibility of this platform is another factor contributing to the market growth. In the past, game development was a highly technical and time-consuming process that required significant expertise. Nowadays, game engines have become more user-friendly with drag-and-drop interfaces, pre-built assets, and tutorials, making it easier for developers of all skill levels to create games. This accessibility has allowed more developers to enter the market, leading to an explosion in the number of games being created.

Unity's behavior is embarrassingly greedy. Clearly trying to brute force their way into skimming revenue from every mobile game on the market -> pushing their adware onto every piece of software. It's been really disheartening to see every game development software company demand exponentially more profit the past few years. Especially since it comes at the expense of scaring away blossoming developers...
If you haven't learned to make games, but plan to - use something open source like GODOT, or at least an old version of RPG maker with a one-time purchase of a license.
If the owner of the IDE you're using would be legally within their rights to do what Unity is doing now you should assume that they will do it eventually too.

Hi, I wanted to make a fresh, basic outline of what I want to work on/do for the site! To keep it easy to follow, I kept it to things that would actually be visually seen or be the most interesting for yall. (So there's other things I will be working on in the backend as I go that aren't listed here!)
----------
Item Collection <- (current)
1st Profile Revamp
- Make it more appealing to the eyes (lol)
The Longue
Forums
Trading
Wishlist
Possible Discord Creation
Possibly getting an proper Domain Name
Possible opening site to just sign up straight away (maybe...)
Possible Shop
2nd Profile Revamp
- Favorite Character
- Badge
- Sticker Section
- Profile Comments
- Achievements (???)
Considering ways to make site more interactive
- Mini Games
- World Explorartion
- Avatar Creation
(In other words, things that will require finding and learning how to use another tool, so thats why im putting this all the way down here lol)
----------
The outline will definitely change over time. I might move things around or add or edit stuff based on my ideas, skill level, and everyone's suggestions in the future. But I will do my best to at least be consistent in creating 5 million boyfriends to collect.
Anyways thanks for reading lmao

So I made a free little silly tool for small gamedevs!
If you struggle thinking what to post on social media to promote your game every day, this just gives you ideas. It pulls from external files you can customize in notepad to fit your game, too!
You can find it here!

These are some free alternatives to things that saved me some time, so thought it may help out some other people too!

If you've ever thought about actually buying some version of RPG Maker, you should check this out. XP is an older version, so you may end up wanting a newer version, but this is a great opportunity to check out what RPG Maker has to offer.
I just recently got the newest version when it was on sale for the holidays, and the prototype I've made fumbling around since December is already the most complete game project I've ever made because many of the systems are built in and easy to work with. Especially if you have even a vague knowledge of programming.

This video starts with me "showing off" my home-spun map editor. It did what I needed earlier on - had swap-able swatches, layer rendering controls, copy/paste abilities, entity property management, and more. Then, it shows me opening the same map in TIled, changing the position of some entities, and finally walking around in the edited map.
When I first started this project, my instinct was to use Tiled to map editing. But I really didn't enjoy the libraries available, so I developed my own internal data format for maps, and also wrote my own map editor. That was fun, but ultimately stupid.
I still like the map data format I landed on, it integrates nicely with my rendering engine. But I finally bit the bullet and wrote a converter that can parse a Tiled map and convert it to my internal format. Now I can stop worrying about implementing quality-of-life improvements for my bespoke map editor, and instead focus on building the game itself...
PS: I also bought @snowhex's tileset to use as a placeholder for my sprites - letting me focus on implementing the game engine instead of attempting to draw decent looking pixelart.
