Man, Webtoon sucks.
How come they have this guideline
"Intellectual Property Rights: You must own all of the copyrights and other intellectual property rights to your uploads, and your User Postings must not infringe on the copyright, trademark, or publicity right of any other party, or you must have sufficient ownership or other intellectual property rights required to upload the User Postings consistent with these terms.
Yet when users, aka readers and creators alike see AI content, gacha, avatar generators (Picrew) and others being posted in Webtoon Canvas, its allowed?
Honestly it doesn't feel safe that anyone can just shove other creator's works into an AI generator, grab other people's works in general, especially when its obvious it is done without the consent nor permission of said original artists, and several of them don't even approve for its usage that way. Oh sure thing, they can't monetize from it but surely they can be within other creators, oh, they so much want artists and original content so they can later profit out of it if it matches with their brand and bring into new users on their platform but God forbid showing the least of decency to protect it from thiefs, plagiarists and more.
The more they fill Webtoon and other platforms with AI and other stolen, plagiarized or traced content (And even worse, developing their own engines with our data), the more artists will simply walk away. It is happening with Meta, everywhere they want to implement or allow AI, artists will complain, authors will complain, writers will complain. We are all complaining at the moment, and honestly, this makes me want to start telling my friends and other creators to leave Webtoon because they keep on adding to their list of constant direspect towards Creatives.
This issue happened with the Webtoon LATAM staff when I reported an AI generated series. I foound out about it because its "author" was sharing it in a facebook group, guess how that post was going? AWFULLY, every artist suggesting the person to switch to writing a Novel, hire an artist or draw the comic themselves, especially if they even want to see some kind of income for their so called "Great novel of 20 volumes that has been on the work for more than a decade"

That feeling when you have to pretend to agree that the AI generated art of tmnt that your mother pulled up doesnt pook like absolute dogshit and its "so cool" even though who knows how many poor artists got their work stolen to feed the AI machine that your mother wants to use to make money and you feel your soul dying both as an artist and a tmnt lover and as an artist

i don't mean to sound ungrateful, but as a content creator on this site, there's a part of me that's like. they absolutely just stole my work.
i'm not, like, unaware that tumblr has been shuffling downhill for years now. sometimes i play with the idea of switching platforms, turning myself into the shark. i often get tens of thousands of notes - i could be "doing numbers" on a platform that actually pays me to do so. i could have statistics that i could use to sell myself, i could rebrand and make content pay-to-play and make brand deals. i could have the other life, i mean.
but i don't want to. i like the quiet nature of tumblr. i like that it still feels like i'm writing poetry, not like i'm fulfilling ad spots. i like the community, and that i can sometimes still take someone by surprise and write something that really speaks to them. i like the tags and reading things like oh of course it's fucking inkskinned i love you inkskinned you gay mess. my girlfriend recently told me that people tag things "inkskinned" because they assume it is similar to tagging "creative writing". that's wild. i made this word up when i was 19, and have always assumed people tag me in things so i read it (and i often do). i have nothing but love and gratitude for you all, for this tiny scoop of family.
and i haven't made any money off it. i had opportunities, and i turned them down. i could have sold this thing like a thousand times. i thought about moving my work elsewhere - over and over and over i thought about it. i weighed each option specifically. but my tumblr felt like ... it's for you guys, only. if you're still here and reading this, you deserve to do it for free.
tumblr has now, most likely, skimmed my work (and yours) in order to make money. i will never see a single cent for that violation. something about landlords, i guess - my work pays their rent.
i just lost my job on valentine's day, and am working on scrambling for solutions. i am writing this to a blog that they will probably scrape with AI. and like, what number to do you think it was? do you think it was only a couple hundred thousand? no way it was close to a million, right? my time, effort, energy - it belongs to someone else now. how many silver pieces for them to completely sell out their user base.
and it's kind of like - funny? when it isn't very-sad. because i personally don't know what to do, ya know? i might as well move to a different platform, where my efforts are ai-scraped but could eventually pay me. where i know my privacy is the cost - but it could result in actual money. anyway. i need to figure out how i'm paying for meds. i need to email like six people about COBRA benefits.
my work is powering someone else's AI. it will be a beautiful fabricated poem, made from words i've already said.

So, in spite of suing multiple other companies with the assertion that scraping user content for generative AI training is illegal, Long Rodent has decided that the dead bird is going to do the same thing! Natively! On-platform! To train his own new generative AI engine!
With this in mind, I cannot impress this vehemently enough:
If you are on Twitter as a creator of any kind, it's time to pack up your work and GET THE HELL OUT.

The sun was just filtering in the window in the early morning, and Steve was already working on his latest project. You. He had his drawing book and pencil in hand as he started to draw what he saw before him. You were quietly sleeping on your side, facing him as if you were posing just for him. The sounds of pencil on paper can be lightly heard in the bedroom as he takes in your features. He wants to capture your beauty just right, like he has in his past work.
This time though, the drawing will be different as you lie with your hand on your baby bump. The sight of you pregnant with his child makes him prouder than anything else. He can’t believe that he will be a father in the coming months. So he continues to draw every curve that your body is showing and every soft feature the sun is exposing to him.
After an hour of drawing, you begin to stir. You let out a low hum as you roll to your back and reach out for him in your sleepy state. Your hand drifts over the covers and your eyes softly flutter open. You notice the bed is cold and empty next to you but you hear that familiar sound of pencil on paper as you roll back to the other side. You see Steve smiling at you as he puts his pencil down.
“Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?” His soft voice carries to you and it’s music to your ears.
“Morning, Stevie,” you answer with a smile. “I slept well enough. The baby was very active during the night with his kicks.”
“I’m sorry that he kept you up again, love.” Steve walks over to his side of the bed and puts the drawing on a table next to him as he climbs back into bed. Rolling close to you, he places his hand on your belly and rubs gentle circles. He smiles when he feels a faint kick. “I bet he’s hungry.”
You sigh as your stomach makes a noise, confirming Steve’s guess. “That’s my cue to get up and eat before he gets cranky.”
“Let me make pancakes for you while you shower and change. That way, you can start your day off the right way.” Steve leans over and kisses your temple.
“If I wanted to start my day off the right way, I’d have you inside of me right now,” you reply with a smile on your face. You knew you had him where you wanted.
At the mention of wanting him, Steve’s cock starts to swell in his shorts. He would take you anytime, anywhere, just to hear the little noises you make when he’s balls deep inside of you. Your hand starts to drift down his abs to his harding cock. When your hand slips inside his shorts and gently wraps around him, he takes a deep shaky breath in, only exhaling when you softly stroke him.
“I need you, Steve,” you whine out as your hand continues to move.
That’s all Steve needs to hear. He rolls you onto your side away from him and hikes your leg over his. His thick fingers immediately start to play with your clit, rubbing it in soft slow circles making you whine out in pleasure. He then lets his fingers move to your wet pussy where he teases you again, letting the tips of them press gently into you. In response you rub your ass against his cock making sure to grind against him just right before he stops his teasing.
Kissing your shoulder, Steve strokes himself a few times before he enters you from behind. You mewl when he pushes into your tight cunt all the way and starts to pull back his hips. He thrusts softly into you at a slow and steady pace. Every move has you moaning his name and begging for more. Steve's arm wraps around you, his hand placed onto your stomach. He loves feeling you soft and round for him. Knowing he did this to you several months ago fills him with pride as he continues to take you apart.
Your moans get louder as Steve starts to speed up his pace. His fingers find their way back to your clit and he starts rubbing you more firmly so you can finally fall off the edge for him. In moments he feels your pussy tighten around his cock and you scream his name to the heavens above. A few more thrusts and he joins you, cumming deep inside you with a shout of your name.
You both lie together in bliss as his hips stop jerking. Steve sighs against your shoulder, kissing it once more. As you hum in contentment. Slowly, he pulls out of you and lies on his back. You roll over and cuddle him the best you can with your tummy pressed up against his side.
“Steve?”
“Yes, sweetheart.” Steve looks at you with a satisfied grin.
“Can I see what you were drawing before I woke up?”
His face lights up as he rolls over and grabs the drawing book and eagerly shows you what he had been up to. You stare at the paper and see how beautifully he has captured you sleeping and cradling the baby bump. It had to be one of his best sketches to date in your mind.
“I love it,” you say as you kiss him on the chest. “I can’t wait to see you draw our little bundle of joy soon. You’re so talented and an amazing artist.”
“Thanks, sweetheart, for always being so supportive and being my beautiful muse. Now let’s get up and shower so I can cook you both some breakfast.”
Your tummy starts to growl again and you giggle. “Yes, please.”

to a dying? atinyblr
i don't usually speak about these things, but a lot of blogs (amazing writers) are leaving this platform or taking time off bc of lack of engagement which serves as a big demotivating factor. especially and specifically in this atiny fandom, some things have come to my attention and i just want all readers and writers to take a look at this post and refresh some reading and writing etiquettes, as well as revive the essence of being a part of this fandom.
feedback:
i understand that there are a lot of silent readers on here, but since tumblr is dying and our fandom is not very huge, the least you can do to show the writers some support is like the post.
which brings me to the point that the like function didn't even exist in the past. this site still runs on reblogs. as readers, to show your favourite writers some semblance of support, you should be reblogging with tags. a simple ‘#ateez x reader’ or ‘#ateez fics’ is enough. it's literally not asking for much– reblogs are the only way writers can get reach.
if you cannot do that bc of your blog's aesthetic or whatever, side blogs exist. if you still cannot do that, a simple anon ask appreciating the writer sometimes saves them.
also, what has happened to the quality of reblogs? readers consume years of writers’ work and efforts in mere hours and don’t even leave any feedback? art in general in all forms is very underappreciated and with all sorts of problems like plagiarism, ai writing and everything, true art and writing is dying and needs to be appreciated now more than ever. we’re literally the last generation witnessing ai take over in all fields of arts. appreciate content creators before it’s too late, don’t be a content glutton!
updates and requests:
asking writers for updates when they specifically mention that they would prefer posting at their pace is wrong for so many reasons– we all have a real life. you, the reader, do too. just like you don't always have time to read, writers don't always have time to write. do you ever see the writers asking their readers 'why have you not read my latest chapter?'
most of the times, writers mention in their bio/faq post or elsewhere that they do mind being asked about updates. respect your writers, please, and do a little scroll before you send such demanding asks (also, sugarcoating when asking for updates does not make it any better!)
if you are only asking about updates, it demotivates a lot of writers bc these same people will disappear when it is time for feedback. writing is a form of art. we can write, artists can paint, musicians can compose music, but all of it has no meaning unless it is shared with an audience and appreciated. readers are just as important as the writers but there is no way of knowing fics are valued unless feedback is given.
the same goes for requests. you can only send a request when the requests are open, which is usually mentioned in the writer’s bio/faq post. it’s literally not that hard to check if requests are open and it’s basic decency to not send a request when the writers specifically mention that requests are closed. when sending a request, please be courteous. a ‘please’ or ‘thank you’ are examples of being courteous when sending requests.
the fanfics in atinyblr:
i understand that you can read whatever you like, but why is it that in the atiny fandom, fics that do not contain smut hardly ever get attention? as a writer, i enjoy writing and reading smut, and while i am not specifically a smut blog, i have noticed how fics containing smut get far more reach than fics that do not contain smut– not just in my case, but other amazing writers as well.
there are such amazing fictions in this fandom. all fics are crafted with dedication and care, yet stories without smut often get sidelined. writers are not able to express themselves in their writing freely anymore and they simply conform to a genre they know readers will consume, as they are forced to consider adding smut to their stories so they can get more reach in this fandom. i have heard accounts from a lot of writers who were inclined to add smut to an otherwise smut-free fic just for reach.
this is by no means hate to the smut writers. i am also not placing blame on them. smut drabbles have always been in this fandom, and there are amazing smut writers out there, doing their thing. it is the readers here who are failing the writers. readers are quick to talk about the lack of ‘good fics’ or ‘plot’ yet will not even bother searching for these works. there used to be a good balance and appreciation for all genres alike.
i know that smut is what's hot and trendy these days, and drabbles in general, no matter the genre, are easier to read when you want to take a short break. but there is such a lack of longfics in this fandom, especially as of lately, and as someone who has personally witnessed the ratio of longfics decrease exponentially, i felt the need to point this out. appreciate all writers! appreciate all genres! longfic writers need as much validation and encouragement as drabble writers, and vice versa! don't be too harsh on longfic writers for not pumping out fics at the same speed as shortfic writers.
and on that note, smut drabble writers experience a lack of quality feedback despite the high engagement, so readers, please don't hesitate to point out exactly what you liked about a fic, even if it's a short drabble! be kind to those writers, give them time to write and be kind when sending requests! they may post more often but they, too, have a life.
tags:
this is specifically for the people who will post a very normal picture of a member, no caption, but tag it something like #ateez smut, #ateez hard hours, #ateez x reader. and for the people who tag their asks with irrelevant tags– literally learn to tag your post properly, and stop crowding the wrong tags. you're just proving the point that if you don't tag a post with the smut tag or something similar, it won't get reach. if you've posted with a caption, that makes sense (though it still doesn't warrant some of the tags being used there).
as for writers, also learn to use your tags appropriately. fics that do not contain smut should not be tagged with smut related tags. believe in yourself. i get that there is the problem of reach but do not overcrowd tags with irrelevant material.
disclaimer:
this is by no means about me. if i cared about the notes, or lack thereof, i would have stopped writing a while ago. while it is challenging to be a writer here, especially as of lately, i still enjoy posting whatever i write no matter the genre or the word count. but it's a bit disappointing that my planned out fics get much less attention than a simple smut headcanons post that i wrote in the heat of the moment with my friend in literally a few hours as a joke (which has reached almost 10k notes btw in a span of 2 years). sure, it has exposed my blog to new readers but that's about it.
this post is for all the amazing writers who have left, are thinking of leaving, or are struggling to voice these problems because they are afraid of being marked as 'problematic' or a 'hater' or something worse. i am not afraid to voice my opinion on here, and if you think that i am wrong, feel free to interact with this post and correct me because i am not claiming that i am right about this.
these are just the observations i have made as someone who has been actively writing on this platform for about 4 years now, and since i have a decent number of followers, i hope this post gets more reach. do not be afraid to reblog this if you agree, and even if you do not, reblog this so someone else gets educated. i may have missed some points so feel free to add if you want too.

Each week (or so), we'll highlight the relevant (and sometimes rage-inducing) news adjacent to writing and freedom of expression. (Find it on the blog too!) This week:
Censorship watch: Somehow, KOSA returned
It’s official: The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is back from the dead. After failing to pass last year, the bipartisan bill has returned with fresh momentum and the same old baggage—namely, vague language that could endanger hosting platforms, transformative work, and implicitly target LGBTQ+ content under the guise of “protecting kids.”
… But wait, it gets better (worse). Republican Senator Mike Lee has introduced a new bill that makes other attempts to censor the internet look tame: the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act (IODA)—basically KOSA on bath salts. Lee’s third attempt since 2022, the bill would redefine what counts as “obscene” content on the internet, and ban it nationwide—with “its peddlers prosecuted.”
Whether IODA gains traction in Congress is still up in the air. But free speech advocates are already raising alarm bells over its implications.
The bill aims to gut the long-standing legal definition of “obscenity” established by the 1973 Miller v. California ruling, which currently protects most speech under the First Amendment unless it fails a three-part test. Under the Miller test, content is only considered legally obscene if it 1: appeals to prurient interests, 2: violates “contemporary community standards,” and 3: is patently offensive in how it depicts sexual acts.
IODA would throw out key parts of that test—specifically the bits about “community standards”—making it vastly easier to prosecute anything with sexual content, from films and photos, to novels and fanfic.
Under Lee’s definition (which—omg shocking can you believe this coincidence—mirrors that of the Heritage Foundation), even the most mild content with the affect of possible “titillation” could be included. (According to the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, the proposed definition is so broad it could rope in media on the level of Game of Thrones—or, generally, anything that depicts or describes human sexuality.) And while obscenity prosecutions are quite rare these days, that could change if IODA passes—and the collateral damage and criminalization (especially applied to creative freedoms and LGBT+ content creators) could be massive.
And while Lee’s last two obscenity reboots failed, the current political climate is... let’s say, cloudy with a chance of fascism.
Sound a little like Project 2025? Ding ding ding! In fact, Russell Vought, P2025’s architect, was just quietly appointed to take over DOGE from Elon Musk (the agency on a chainsaw crusade against federal programs, culture, and reality in general).
So. One bill revives vague moral panic, another wants to legally redefine it and prosecute creators, and the man who helped write the authoritarian playbook—with, surprise, the intent to criminalize LGBT+ content and individuals—just gained control of the purse strings.
Cool cool cool.
Tumblr media
AO3 works targeted in latest (massive) AI scraping
Rewind to last month—In the latest “wait, they did what now?” moment for AI, a Hugging Face user going by nyuuzyou uploaded a massive dataset made up of roughly 12.6 million fanworks scraped from AO3—full text, metadata, tags, and all. (Info from r/AO3: If your works’ ID numbers between 1 and 63,200,000, and has public access, the work has been scraped.)
And it didn’t stop at AO3. Art and writing communities like PaperDemon and Artfol, among others, also found their content had been quietly scraped and posted to machine learning hubs without consent.
This is yet another attempt in a long line of more “official” scraping of creative work, and the complete disregard shown by the purveyors of GenAI for copyright law and basic consent. (Even the Pope agrees.)
AO3 filed a DMCA takedown, and Hugging Face initially complied—temporarily. But nyuuzyou responded with a counterclaim and re-uploaded the dataset to their personal website and other platforms, including ModelScope and DataFish—sites based in China and Russia, the same locations reportedly linked to Meta’s own AI training dataset, LibGen.
Some writers are locking their works. Others are filing individual DMCAs. But as long as bad actors and platforms like Hugging Face allow users to upload massive datasets scraped from creative communities with minimal oversight, it’s a circuitous game of whack-a-mole. (As others have recommended, we also suggest locking your works for registered users only.)
Tumblr media
After disavowing AI copyright, leadership purge hits U.S. cultural institutions
In news that should give us all a brief flicker of hope, the U.S. Copyright Office officially confirmed: if your “creative” work was generated entirely by AI, it’s not eligible for copyright.
A recently released report laid it out plainly—human authorship is non-negotiable under current U.S. law, a stance meant to protect the concept of authorship itself from getting swallowed by generative sludge. The report is explicit in noting that generative AI draws “on massive troves of data, including copyrighted works,” and asks: “Do any of the acts involved require the copyright owners’ consent or compensation?” (Spoiler: yes.) It’s a “straight ticket loss for the AI companies” no matter how many techbros’ pitch decks claim otherwise (sorry, Inkitt).
“The Copyright Office (with a few exceptions) doesn’t have the power to issue binding interpretations of copyright law, but courts often cite to its expertise as persuasive,” tech law professor Blake. E Reid wrote on Bluesky. As the push to normalize AI-generated content continues (followed by lawsuits), without meaningful human contribution—actual creative labor—the output is not entitled to protection.
… And then there’s the timing.
The report dropped just before the abrupt firing of Copyright Office director Shira Perlmutter, who has been vocally skeptical of AI’s entitlement to creative work.
It's yet another culture war firing—one that also conveniently clears the way for fewer barriers to AI exploitation of creative work. And given that Elon Musk’s pals have their hands all over current federal leadership and GenAI tulip fever… the overlap of censorship politics and AI deregulation is looking less like coincidence and more like strategy.
Also ousted (via email)—Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden. According to White House press secretary and general ghoul Karoline Leavitt, Dr. Hayden was dismissed for “quite concerning things that she had done… in the pursuit of DEI, and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.” (Translation: books featuring queer people and POC.)
Dr. Hayden, who made history as the first Black woman to hold the position, spent the last eight years modernizing the Library of Congress, expanding digital access, and turning the institution into something more inclusive, accessible, and, well, public. So of course, she had to go. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The American Library Association condemned the firing immediately, calling it an “unjust dismissal” and praising Dr. Hayden for her visionary leadership. And who, oh who might be the White House’s answer to the LoC’s demanding and (historically) independent role?
The White House named Todd Blanche—AKA Trump’s personal lawyer turned Deputy Attorney General—as acting Librarian of Congress.
That’s not just sus, it’s likely illegal—the Library is part of the legislative branch, and its leadership is supposed to be confirmed by Congress. (You know, separation of powers and all that.)
But, plot twist: In a bold stand, Library of Congress staff are resisting the administration's attempts to install new leadership without congressional approval.
If this is part of the broader Project 2025 playbook, it’s pretty clear: Gut cultural institutions, replace leadership with stunningly unqualified loyalists, and quietly centralize control over everything from copyright to the nation’s archives.
Because when you can’t ban the books fast enough, you just take over the library.
Tumblr media
Rebellions are built on hope
Over the past few years (read: eternity), a whole ecosystem of reactionary grifters has sprung up around Star Wars—with self-styled CoNtEnT CrEaTorS turning outrage to revenue by endlessly trashing the fandom. It’s all part of the same cynical playbook that radicalized the fallout of Gamergate, with more lightsabers and worse thumbnails. Even the worst people you know weighed in on May the Fourth (while Prequel reassessment is totally valid—we’re not giving J.D. Vance a win).
But one thing that shouldn't be up for debate is this: Andor, which wrapped its phenomenal two-season run this week, is probably the best Star Wars project of our time—maybe any time. It’s a masterclass in what it means to work within a beloved mythos and transform it, deepen it, and make it feel urgent again. (Sound familiar? Fanfic knows.)
Radicalization, revolution, resistance. The banality of evil. The power of propaganda. Colonialism, occupation, genocide—and still, in the midst of it all, the stubborn, defiant belief in a better world (or Galaxy).
Even if you’re not a lifelong SW nerd (couldn’t be us), you should give it a watch. It’s a nice reminder that amidst all the scraping, deregulation, censorship, enshittification—stories matter. Hope matters.
And we’re still writing.

Tumblr media
Good morning everyone! I'm sure many of you have been seeing the viral AI starter pack trend all over social media. Fortunately, Tumblr isn't the type of platform that fosters AI (thank goodness!). I wanted to take the time to post the beautiful starter pack illustration I commissioned (from a real artist) as well as talk a little bit about my general feelings on AI. This beautiful work was done by the talented Melissa Tan! AI can never create anything as personalized as a real artist. Melissa took the time to pay attention to the small details. That’s something only a real person can do. She even made the patterns on Oreo's neck attire the same as the actual ones he wore. Oreo would be so proud! 💚 So, what are my feelings on AI? Although it may be an asset to things like research, especially in the medical field, AI can also be seriously damaging when used in certain ways. All of us here know and understand that AI steals from countless artists, illustrators, creators and copyrighted works in order to be trained. It's extremely damaging to the creative industry and obviously very harmful to the general public because many are unaware or unable to distinguish AI from reality. This trend bothers me because as large social media accounts, we should be setting a good example. By jumping on these AI trends we are essentially telling our followers that stealing is ok, and it obviously isn’t. We should be using our platforms to collectively collaborate with real artists and helping to actively teach our audiences about the harmful nature of AI. We should be making the effort together to promote REAL art from the get-go.
I am thankful for Tumblr and all of the artists here (and that I won't see AI on my dash).

Creator Spotlight: @jdebbiel
Deb JJ Lee is a non-binary Korean artist based in Brooklyn, NY. They have appeared in the New Yorker, New York Times, NPR, Google, Radiolab, and more. Their award-winning graphic memoir, IN LIMBO, about mental illness and difficult relationships with trauma, released in March 2023 from First Second.
Below is our interview with Deb!
Have you ever had an art block? If so, how did you overcome it?
That implies I am over my art block, but I’m still in it! I think about Kiki’s Delivery Service a lot and how she had to stop doing a thing, and that you can’t really force it, and you have to let it come back to you. It’s a pretty humbling moment, realizing there is more to life than just drawing. I’ve been trying to consume other content like reading or watching movies—anything that is not drawing-related—and to trust that it will come back to me. I think not being afraid to do the small pieces before committing to the big pieces is helpful. Because big pieces are what I am known for, I dig myself into a deeper hole, thinking that each piece has to be bigger than the last one. So yeah! Relaxing and doing the small things before overcommitting to a big piece is the best way to go about it for me.
Which 3 famous artists (dead or alive) would you invite to your dinner party?
I feel like these are all artists that I have second-degree connections with! Jillian Tamaki, Victo Ngai, and Tillie Walden would be my picks!
What are your file name conventions?
…What file name conventions? I mean, I don’t have specific file name conventions, but I actually have a public Google Drive archive! But I usually put “djjl_whatever-the-title-is_final,” and I would always know it’s the final and legit version.
What is a recent creative project that you are proud of?
I did an illustration for the whiskey brand Johnnie Walker. It’s so wild because I only had four days to finish it, and it usually takes me a week and a half if I rush. And honestly, it’s probably one of my best pieces from this year, which is funny. It was for the Mid-Autumn festival, so I made it as Korean as possible.
How has technology changed the way you approach your work?
I only use my iPad to draw everything now, and if I want to pretend that I have a steady workstation, I’ll use my Cintiq. I still am not as comfortable on the Cintiq as I am on Procreate, but it’s still pretty solid and nice. That’s the good part about technology. The bad part about technology is how AI art has been messing things up for me. I’m currently in a lawsuit about AI art as a class rep. Some of my stuff got turned into AI art late last year, so I have to give a deposition at some point.
What is a convention experience that has stuck with you?
Honestly, they’re all good! I feel like Lightbox Expo has been really nice because it’s truly been a convention for artists. I feel like that’s where most of my audience is, and they’re all around because their purpose is to be better at art. That’s where a lot of original artists do well because they’re getting art they’re inspired by, not so much fanart. I like the Lightbox Expo because it encompasses the pure love of art very well.
Top tips on setting up an Artist Alley booth?
Use a Y axis, not just your X axis! Take advantage of it! Branding is also something to think about. It is definitely something I’m getting better at. Having an assistant is also very important. I’ve also heard that 8.5x11 to 12x18 inches is usually a good size for prints, but I also provide postcard-sized prints because sometimes people don’t want to commit to a larger size.
Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?
You know this is so funny. I’ve been following @alicexz for over a decade on Tumblr and other platforms. I’ve followed her work since high school, and we’ve only recently become peers. I found her, and we met for the first time in real life, and she recognized me. And then I found all my drawings from when I was in my Alice phase, back in high school, and I was like, “Yo, this is when I was trying to be you so badly!” and she was cracking up and was like “Wow, this is so good!” It was such a sweet moment. I wanted to take a picture of her holding my drawing up. It’s really nice because now we’re peers.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing, Deb! Be sure to check out their Tumblr blog over at @jdebbiel.

AO3 Data Scraped for AI Training Dataset
What is happening, and what you can do. Check for potential edits with additions at the end of the post!
What is happening? What do we know?
A user going by "nyuuzyou" on the HuggingFace platform uploaded a dataset a few days ago - containing scraped content from AO3. HuggingFace is a very popular platform and widely used for sharing machine learning and AI models/datasets. The scraped dataset includes fics, fanart, and other fanworks - all taken without permission and intended for use in training gen AI models. You can find more information in this Reddit post.
This dataset is one of several compiled from various websites—at least seven in total. While two datasets have been removed, the AO3 one was only disabled on HuggingFace. This means that it’s not downloadable at the moment but still visible. It may also return if takedown efforts end up being challenged/reversed by that user.
Key Details
Scope: On AO3, all content with work IDs between 1 and 63,200,000 has been targeted. The work ID is the number at the end of a work's URL — for example, in https://archiveofourown.org/works/12345678, 12345678 is the work ID. You can find it by simply opening the work and checking the URL in your browser’s address bar. So, if your work falls in that range and is publicly accessible (i.e., not locked and open to everyone, including guests), it’s mostly likely included in the dataset. This dataset is currently disabled on HuggingFace, but that doesn't mean it's gone. It's only a temporary takedown as of now.
Takedown notices have been issued, but this user has also uploaded the dataset to other sites after backlash and partial removal.
There are talks in the discussion forums of potentially moving this dataset to Telegram, torrents, and/or other private channels.
HuggingFace AO3 dataset page
Other distributed sites listed here (as per a Reddit comment)
Currently deleted from ModelScope
What can you do?
Should the dataset return again and you see that your work was affected: file your own DMCA or copyright takedown notice. The uploader, in their own words, "has not agreed to take down the entire repo. At this time, the scraper has agreed with taking down art from the person who owns the copyright. That means each of you will need to request a takedown."
Instructions and a sample CSV template to list your work IDs for removal are provided in this guide. You can find more details in this announcement by PaperDemon.
Lock your works! It would limit visibility to registered users only, and is a very good step to prevent scraping or unauthorized use. To lock all your works on AO3, go to “My Works,” click “Edit Works,” and select all. Then click “Edit” and check the box labeled “Only show to registered users.” Scroll down and click “Update All Works” to apply the change.
⚠️ | Final Notes:
This user has so far shown no signs of stopping and is continuing to redistribute the data across multiple sites, even after numerous takedown requests (read more here). So, we can only recommend to be cautious and beware, lock your works, feel free to make use of takedown notices if you're unfortunately affected, and spread the word to fellow creators.
Follow up on this and get the latest updated in the Fanfic Communities Network (FCN) Discord Server!
If you have more information regarding this - e.g. if works from other sites are affected too - please reach out to us in the FCN!!
Edit (2025-04-26):
The user who has scraped the works has, upon request by another person, posted a way to convert ao3 json to markdown:
https://huggingface.co/datasets/nyuuzyou/archiveofourown/discussions/170
https://gist.github.com/nyuuzyou/b2f83669ad80a22e435728245ebcdf9f
This shows us that nyuuzyou continues to show no signs of taking down the scraped works.
Edit (2025-04-28):
A user warned that even archive-locked AO3 fics were included in a scraped dataset (most likely taken while the scraper was logged in, before they were banned or switched to public-only access). Some public works were missed as well:
https://huggingface.co/datasets/nyuuzyou/archiveofourown/discussions/213#680fcdb76d9e022324a70cf1
Edit (2025-05-03):
Hey everybody, this is a bit late, but the AO3 dataset has been permanently removed from HuggingFace: https://huggingface.co/datasets/nyuuzyou/archiveofourown. While this unfortunately doesn’t prevent it from being shared elsewhere (like torrents) nor does it guarantee any deletion of past downloads and whatnot, having it taken down from a major platform like HF is still a significant step forward. (There is more info about other sites on PaperDemon.)
So please don’t be disheartened—every action counts, and this shows that pushing back and filing DMCAs and copyright notices as appropriate does make a difference. We’ll certainly keep an eye out for more info and post updates here, but thank you again to everyone who helped report, spread the word, or supported the effort. Keep reading, keep writing. ♥️

Do you have any new-creator of comics advice? I’m not sure what platforms to post on or how to go about it. Thank you. :)
Sadly there are less and less broad platforms available for posting independent comics on these days. I absolutely advise you to stay away from Webtoons and DeviantArt at this point, they're toxic sludgy messes. I would say you have a few main options, depending on what you like -
Instagram: it's good for getting attention relatively quickly, but the algorithim is quite terrible for artists and the insurgence of AI is also pretty bad. There's a strong community of Warriors OC comics on Instagram which may help if that's your genre, but it's rough for totally original comic work. Use a lot of hashtags on your posts if you do decide to post there.
Original website: if you're good with coding, or you know someone who is, you could make your own website to post comics on. Obviously it's hard to get algorithmic traffic from this, but if you're active on another platform you can advertise yourself. Plus you then have total control over what goes on with the website.
Tumblr: I've found that posting comics on Tumblr is pretty nice in algorithmic terms, and you get a lot more community interaction here than on some platforms. But it is pretty hard for new readers to figure out its layout and keep everything streamlined, and the website isn't super reliable all the time.
ComicFury: ComicFury is the best out of all these options and my strongest recommendation. It is AI-free, lets your build and design your own host website connected to the main site, and you have control over everything you upload to it. There's not a push algorithim, but if you post frequently you will get your comic into the "recently updated" feed and you will slowly build an audience. You need to have patience when creating a webcomic anyways; so I would say start here.

This is just my opinion: I don't get the feeling fanfiction is over at all. The overall vibe I get is almost all authors and most readers are anti-AI and will continue to support creators regardless of what happens. Conversely, I feel like the further down we go on this route of doom and gloom and gatekeeping our work or leaving fandom (as some creators already have), the worse off we all will be...then there won't be anything left but AI.
most readers are decidedly not anti AI 😭 which I have come to terms with after perusing tiktok after tiktok comment section, sadly. I think a good chunk are but I think wayyyyyyy more people are either ambivalent or actively seek out things like character AI and other platforms like that.
I totally get your point but it is just a kick in the fucking guts to know your work was stolen and basically irretrievable by some machine that people ARE using and also paying money for. Like essentially your stolen labour lmao.

The Spiritual Sickos and Tumblr Ticks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How To Get Away With Hypocrisy 101
Ladies and Ladies......gather around for the pipe bomb of the century. They thought it was over? No ma'am. A lot has transpired since that historic day, June 9, 2025. On that day, I put out my first post regarding Aphrodicci's toxic and evil behavior and taught everyone how to successfully get away with hypocrisy, while also teaching you what NOT to do with Aphrodicci's situation as an example.
As expected, that post ruffled plenty of feathers. For those of you who need an update on everything that myself and others have dealt with since then, regarding her bullshit and continued harassment, then this post is for you. I'll give a brief summary on what has happened so far but if you want to know what's happened from the beginning in detail, read the hypocrisy post that I have linked at the top and the posts I have linked within that post. With that being said, get your snacks because you're in for a long yet detailed and juicy read.
Spiritual? Where?
As stated by a few others, the tarot and astrology community on Tumblr has too much toxic and deceptive energy and people in it. Not just because of scammers and AI, but because of wolves in sheep's clothing that are harassing, bullying, lying, and dragging down others out of jealousy and envy.
It's horrendous how people like that claim to be spiritual and "good", and use spiritual tools but radiate such negative energy. People like that don't genuinely care about helping others and putting good out into the world. They only care about getting attention and money. Aphrodicci isn't the only creator that is like this. Her friends that defend her and help aid in this toxic behavior are also like this, such as sydneymykah, bitdemonic, spiritstalking (which I suspect is just one of her friends using that as an alt to defend her), rholsof-film, rsequrtz, opalblade, jupiitersreturn, cancerfairy, and saturnianprincess.
When "High Vibes" Means High Horse
As stated before, all of the people named above are Aphrodicci's closest friends and enable her toxic behavior. They've bullied people off of this platform for the last two or three years out of jealousy and envy. This is not "speculation" and "fake gossip" as some people like to call it, this is a proven fact. They're currently trying to do it to me for speaking out on this. If any of those people have tried to speak out about it or stand up for themselves, they have teamed up to jump these people. They would even go as far as starting smear campaigns or doxxing people.
This group of people are entitled, egotistical, mean, disrespectful, and malicious. They put up false images of being sweet, kind, and empathetic, but that is not who they truly are. They are the main reason why astroblr and tarotblr are as toxic and vile as it is, but I'm here to aid in that change.
Meet the Deadweight
Like I said, the main problem is Aphrodicci. Her behavior has been absolutely horrid and disgusting. She has been called out for being racist (yeah i said it, RACIST), fatphobic, and harassing and bullying people off of this platform or doing things to ruin other people's reputations wrongfully. The main reason she has been able to do this is because of the Discord server that she has, in which people could join to discuss astrology since it was public. It's currently on lockdown due to people screenshotting fucked up things that she or her friends have said in the server and exposing them.
I'm calling her a deadweight because her actions have dragged down other people and this community as a whole. She refuses to address the situations publicly on her main account, but will harass people through alt accounts and anonymous asks with her friends to intimidate and scare the person who spoke out or whoever they don't like. When the situations get brought up again or new information and proof about her fucked up actions come out, she brings up past and irrelevant situations about other creators she doesn't like (or were also problematic) in order to get the attention off of herself, or twists people's words, narratives, or intentions whenever they call her out to make it seem like she's the sweet little victim who always gets hated on for no reason.
The Screenshots Don't Lie, Babe
Regardless of Aphrodicci and her friends trying to deny everything she's been accused of, the screenshots don't lie. Here are links of the screenshots of things that Aphrodicci has said and done on her main account and explanations from her victims. Some of these links also include shitty actions by some of her friends. I couldn't put more images because I hit the limit. And just so y'all know, Pluto = Aphrodicci.
Datura's Screenshots The Case of Zelda (Part 1) The Case of Zelda (Part 2) Harassing Classical Mist (now deactivated) Opal Blade Being Delusional Messyness from Spiritstalking Spiritstalking dismissing Racism as "personal beef" Spiritstalking dismissing Racism (Part 2) More Bullying from Aphrodicci Lexa's Case #1 Lexa's Case #2 My Harassment #1 My Harassment #2 My Harassment #3 Corvoidea's Statement Niya Confirms Everything
Burner Accounts and Backup Dummies
Aphrodicci has multiple public alt accounts for other interests, such as venusiansirens, venuskura, gothicada, and saintgoths. She blocked me on these accounts before I even knew about them. Since she's known to also be the owner of these accounts, who's to say she isn't behind these alt accounts that have been harassing me and other creators? Of course it could be any of her friends, but we literally got proof of her being behind the Baeladimi and possibly the stfuteaonastro account. But let me show you all the alts that have been created, that was confirmed to be made by Aphrodicci or her friends.
1. @stfuteaonastro
A few weeks ago, before I even started speaking out directly about the drama and was mostly observing, this page was created. This is the most disgusting one of all. This account told me, Lexa, and Datura to die, get r worded, overdose, choke, and burn in hell. At first, I couldn’t tell who could have created it, mainly because they were attacking @tarotbyjam24 for no reason and being disgustingly racist towards her. She hasn’t done anything wrong and isn’t even apart of this drama. But today I decided to look back at the account and I noticed that their following list was open. They’re following mostly close friends of Aphrodicci. So either Aphrodicci or one of her close friends created it.
What’s also odd is that this account was also attacking bitdemonic though, and wasn’t following her either. That’s when I started to think that bitdemonic made the account and purposely didn’t follow herself and attacked herself to throw the scent off her. Someone I know came up with another theory that someone in Aphrodicci’s friend group could be impersonating someone named Niya. I don’t know too much about her, but from what I’ve been told, she used to be in their friend group and also had beef with bitdemonic. Regardless, Aphrodicci or one of her friends indeed created that account.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. @baeladimi (now deleted)
The infamous Baeladimi account. It was already odd enough that this account would only hop online to defend Aphrodicci when she would get called out by someone. All of their posts was only reblogs and posts defending her. The account came at me and Datura when I first called out Aphrodicci's behavior publicly under one of her posts. The account used the same tone and language as Aphrodicci and even called me the same racial slurs that Aphrodicci did. Someone I know did research on her twitter and found out that Aphrodicci is a huge Lottie Matthews fan, which baeladimi had as her profile and banner. Of course friends can have the same interests, but then when people started comparing the language between the baeladimi account and her alt accounts, it became clear that it was indeed Aphrodicci on that account, defending herself in third person. What also gave it away was the fact that the account deactivated right after I put that theory out in my first post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. @patientenclavesummoner
While me and Datura was arguing with the baeladimi account, this account was created within minutes. It has a badly edited photo of Datura as it's profile pic and banner, and wrote a strange, mockery response to what Datura was saying. Coincidence? Obviously not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. @astrotarotblroracle
A few days ago, this account was created to discredit me and @teaonastro's explanations and evidence of her wrongdoings. This account was trying to justify using racist slurs, accused me of being white, tried to use Twitter threads to claim that it's normal for black people to use the word c**n and that it's what the majority of other people do, and allegedly used tarot and a pendulum to try and see who is behind the teaonastro account and accused Lexa of being behind the account. This account was obviously created by Aphrodicci in order to try and do more damage control and shift the narrative, but it backfired tremendously. They claim to not be Aphrodicci or one of their friends, yet they are speaking behind a alt account. They're using the same brainrot defenses to try and justify what Aphrodicci did. If you're not her or one of her friends, you wouldn't be speaking behind a alt account and going this hard for someone you don't even know.

When Damage Control Does More Damage
In this section, I'm gonna highlight some embarrassing and pathetic posts that either Aphrodicci or her friends have made to try and do damage control.
"A Palate Cleanser on Proper Research"
One of Aphrodicci's close friends, rholsof-film, also blocked me and made this post recently to subtly defend Aphrodicci. She talked about how gathering information from the right source is imperative, gave a list on how to "properly intake sources", and left a baffling statement at the end about how Black people can't be racist. I love how this post is supposedly educational yet shady and obviously a defense for Aphrodicci at the same time.
The first on her list stated "We don't jump to conclusions", in which she added in the explanation to "never trust cropped screenshots or isolated quotes without full conversations or source links." Mind you, these screenshots included racist comments being stated, which is wrong in any context. Whenever someone asks for the full conversation or situation to be explained, nobody does.
The second on her list stated "Verify the original source", in which she added in the explanation "If the so called proof provided is a cropped photo of one sentence in a conversation instead of the full context of the conversation not being shown then it's what? An invalid source." Crazy. Those screenshots were taken directly from Aphrodicci's account and are clearly and legitimately stated by her. Calling those screenshots "invalid" is disregarding the racist things she stated simply because they're cropped. But like I said, no one will explain the context in it's entirety. I wonder why.
The third on her list stated "Look for multiple perspectives", in which she added "if one side of a situation is the only side presented then it's just a half cup full. If the other context is missing you can't really tell for yourself what actually happened". Then tell us. We're still waiting.
The fourth on her list stated "Check for bias", in which she added "These tea accounts have been pointing fingers at each other claiming one another are biased and most aren't even active anymore except one. So what's there to do? Probably not fully believe what's provided given full context isn't there". But teaonastro has many detailed posts explaining certain situations with evidence, so what are you even talking about? This whole thing about not using cropped conversations as source material when it's about racist slurs being thrown around is disgusting.
The fifth on her list states "Don't confuse popularity with credibility", in which she added "Just because multiple blogs, tea accounts, or threads say the same thing doesn't make it true". Girl what? If multiple people have come forward saying that they experienced mistreatment by the same person at different times, WITH evidence, then that definitely makes it true. It HAS been proven to be true. It's not just a rumor.
Her last statement is about black people not being able to be racist to one another. I guess I'll admit you are correct because black people don't have the systematic power to be racist towards one another according to its definition, and yes we can have prejudice and bias towards one another. But internalized racism is still a thing. I mean, that's what you said to read about right?
Internalized racism is the internalization of beliefs about racism and colonization that contribute to the acceptance of negative messaging or stereotypical representations that inform perceptions about worth and ability. This can cause POC to adopt aspects of racism and reject parts of themselves or other POC in order to fit into society. This can also lead to colorism, prejudice, and assimilating dominant cultures, beliefs, or values. I been saying that a black woman calling another black woman a "super black", "massa", and a "c**n" is giving inner self hatred, especially when you go hard defending the use of those words. When she was on the baeladimi account saying that we're being anti-black when she called me racial slurs for no reason first and I was simply asking her to explain those screenshots, that was unnecessary and telling in itself. She's clearly insecure and must have some self-hatred to treat other black women like this and for her black female friends to allow this also proves my point. But since you apparently have the "credentials" on this, you'd know that right, especially having taken sociology?
2. Performative Activism
How can Aphrodicci make posts about the situations in Gaza and Congo while tearing down members of her own community and harassing others? A few days after the proof of her saying racial slurs came out, she made a post about Palestine, which I reblogged and called damage control with the screenshots of the racial slurs she stated. As usual, she flipped the script and said I'm making a post about a genocide about myself because she was a "mean girl 2-3 years ago" and called it tone deaf. You're still a piece of shit now, as seen above, and the fact that she was ignoring the racist screenshots and saying she didn't care about any of the people I mentioned is basically telling on herself. She also blocked me right after and hopped onto the baeladimi account to try and attack us.
She finally made a statement talking about the situation. But it's just another way to manipulate her followers and gain sympathy. She claims she's never been performative about the posts about Gaza and Congo. She also adds in "could there have been space for a genuine conversation and even apology? maybe. but framing my voice around your feelings, ignoring context, and trying to incite cancellation after many years have passed has shown a real lack of sincerity and selective memory". The thing is you have yet to give any sort of context of those situations. You have had many chances to apologize and hold genuine conversations, yet you turned them down with rudeness and harassment behind alt accounts. I also don't consider things that happened 1-3 years ago to be "many years ago", and you are still doing the same things that you got called out for in the past, but go off I guess.
She also says that she's never gone after people unprovoked (which is a lie) and that whenever she has spoken up, it's been to defend herself or others, often against microaggressions and blatant silencing, which she claims is happening now. She says "it's non-black women trying to tell me what is or isn't racism while tone policing me. that's not people trying to make someone take accountability, it's control." Hmm.....sounds a lot like the argument that @astrotarotblroracle was making. Not only that, but she is calling me a non-black woman, like how that account was saying. It doesn't take common sense to know that calling someone a "super black" or "c**n" in a insulting and racist context is racist. That has nothing to do with control, which doesn't even make sense.
Referring to racist things you've said as only "intense things" and claiming "many of us have" is otherworldly insane. But you're right, if this was truly about healing then you would have handled this with maturity, which means addressing and speaking out way sooner and WITH detailed explanations and context. You refuse to give that context because you know if you do, you'll be cooked even more. This statement is filled with passive-aggressiveness, manipulation, and doesn't even address everything. It's just a bunch of victim mentality. You've already been exposed for going on alt accounts to harass other people. You've been exposed for being passive-aggressive and harassing others. That is honesty. Telling us to go touch grass at the end of that statement indicates how you are still shady and toxic. It's also ironic because at first you didn't give a fuck, yet still felt the need to block me but say that you "aren't scared and aren't a pussy". Make it make sense.
Here are some legitimate links to help the people of Gaza and Congo, because they truly do need as much support as they can get right now:

See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Platform The Evil
I purposely waited to post this until Juneteenth. Today is June 19, an important national African-American holiday that represents the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the emancipation of the 250,000 slaves that were still there. This came two years after Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation because they didn’t have enough union troops to enforce it at the time to get the word out and the Confederate states were being rebellious and defiant.
The reason why I waited until today is because Aphrodicci is a black woman. She may be a british black woman, but she is still a black woman. As far as I understand, sydneymykah, bitdemonic, and rholsof-film are also black women, most likely African-American. To treat me, another black woman, like this and try to justify racism and harassment is insane. This is not how us black people should be treating each other when we already got a ton of other enemies. This isn’t what our ancestors would want. We should be uplifting each other, not wrongfully tearing each other down.
Aphrodicci has been given multiple opportunities to explain the full situation in the screenshots. Her friends keep saying “it’s not the full story” and “they’re cropped pictures”. So explain it. I’ve asked this a thousand times and as expected, there has been no explanation, just more harassment. Even before I made a public statement about all this and people were on teaonastro’s page giving their evidence, stories, and explanations about their dealings with her, she still never made a public response to any of it. It was just performative posts and seemingly ignoring it, while harassing me and others in our inboxes. If someone was truly innocent, you’d think they wouldn’t continue engaging in and acting out in the same behaviors they’re being accused of, and instead address it or admit to it now that the proof is out there.
If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why would most of you instantly block me when I first reblogged her performative post about Gaza with my damage control comment and the screenshots of her ugly behavior? If Aphrodicci is innocent, why did she block me on her public alt accounts before I even knew they existed? If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why did it take her forever to speak out about it on her main account, and when she finally did, it was full of lies, manipulation, and barely addressed the problems at hand? If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why does she create alt accounts to harass people on and defend herself in third person? If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why did the Baeladimi account deactivate right after I uploaded the possibility of her actually being behind that account? If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why are her friends and defenders making shady damage control posts to defend her? If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why was I getting hate anons just for liking a few posts about the situations and another spiritual page (that's now deleted) got hate just for putting out a short psychic message that said there's deceptive energy in this community? Because a hit dog will holler. If Aphrodicci is truly innocent, why would a brand new alt account with Datura’s face, badly edited, be made just minutes after me and her were arguing with Aphrodicci’s alt, Baeladimi?
Regardless if y’all claim this isn’t the “full story”, using racial slurs as insults is just a low blow and not even okay, especially when you’re not even supposed to be using them as a black British woman. Trying to justify the usage of those words with Twitter threads is crazy. If you can’t settle with calling people assholes and motherfuckers, then something is seriously wrong. Saying that I’m “not even black” just because I’m calling you out is also insane. I am indeed an African-American woman and you're just saying that because this black woman isn't gonna be one of your enablers.
To the other astrology and tarot creators who have seen this drama and stayed silent or still side with Aphrodicci and any of her friends, fuck you, genuinely. Y'all are part of the reason why this community has been as toxic as it is. You're enabling toxic people like her when you don't correct her behavior or speak out. To those of you who are trying to be all "love and light" and want people to just "forgive and forget", that's highly delusional. Whether you like it or not, there's gonna be shitty and fake people in every type of community.
You think we shouldn't respond and stand up for ourselves just to "keep the peace" and keep it "love and light"? That's bullshit and we need to weed out those types of people. Feeling angry, sad, and upset about being harassed or bullied is a normal feeling, a normal reaction. Talking back to them will not bring you karma, it's called defending yourself. Fighting back with love and good energy isn't always a good way to go, nor do those type of people even deserve it. As Datura stated in this post, "even the gods were wrathful beings. Did the biblical god worry about karma when he commanded Abraham to kill his son as a test of his faith?"
Once again, I am not doing this for clout. I am doing this because astrology and tarot are the things I am most passionate about. Having the chance to build a large community within that and meet new people has been a blessing. I'm doing this to give people a voice and speak out for what's right. I'm using my platform for good, not for evil.
To those who are afraid to speak out, please know that there is nothing to fear. Y'all are scared of a group of people that don't even have the balls to admit their wrongdoings, talk shit behind alt accounts, make shady posts and can't directly say who they're talking about, block people who check them, harass people through anon asks, and band together against people they don't like because they can't hold their own like mature women. If you have been wronged by any of Aphrodicci's friends or Aphrodicci herself, then publicly share your story and evidence if you have it.
I have laid out everything I needed to. But it's up to the rest of you in the community, other creators and followers, to put in the action if you want to see better and brighter change in this community. Stop liking and interacting with any of Aphrodicci and her friends' posts, unfollow them, hold them accountable, reblog their posts and call them out like I did, make comments under their posts calling them out, fill their inboxes like they did to us, force them to speak out and admit their wrongdoings and if they don't, stop supporting them all together. Fight fire with fire.

Things we won't ever do (including, but not limited to):
- Sell user data to third party advertisers. - Sell user data to be data mined for AI.
Things we will do:
- Listen to our users and take measures against Generative AI. - Build the best platform for our users we can with the limited funds we have.
Why? Because our community is worth it to us. We have to do what we can to try to protect our community from the alarming acceptance of Generative AI stealing from artists, authors, and creators. Even if that means it hurts our funding (and don't get us wrong: we still really need funded to continue to exist) in the long run. We are very aware Pillowfort's existence is an uphill battle.
But you are worth fighting for.

I’ve talked about this with some friends, but the whole Spotify/audiobook drama legitimately makes me want to cry.
If you are unaware, earlier in the month, Spotify, who now owns FindawayVoices -- an audiobook distributor and one of the only major rivals to Audible on the creator end -- announced that their ToS would be updating.
The ToS updates were horrendous and basically allowed Spotify to make royalty-free translations of our works, as well as create derivatives, and basically just fuck us all over and feed all of our hard work into AI.
The backlash was so swift that less than 12 hours later, Spotify sent out a panicked “Sorry our wording wasn’t clear!” email with a promised update. Less than 24 hours later they issued a statement walking back the changes to the ToS, and have since been pulling a “we never said that, you misread our unclear verbiage” when in reality the verbiage was very clear (Not Spotify trying to pull a “gaslight gatekeep girl boss ✌️”), they just didn't expect to get dragged out into the metaphorical court of social media and get publicly annihilated with authors withdrawing their work from the platform and customers canceling their subscriptions left right and center.
Anyway, the walk back was acceptable enough for me to not feel the need to remove my work entirely from FindAway -- which is good because I would have lost access to the global audiobook market if I had, not to mention global library access. Which, again, is good. A significant chunk of my audiobook earnings comes from Libby, and I’d honestly be lost without that $20 every month. (we get paid quarterly but it breaks out to about $20 a month.)
What the walk back was not good enough for, was for me to trust them to keep streaming Hunger Pangs on their Spotify streaming service. Because quite frankly, I don't trust them not to pull some more ToS bullshit, and this is the part making me want to cry.
Why? Because I’m going through my royalty reports, and for the single month of December 2023 alone, Hunger Pangs was streamed so often it earned $400.
In one month.
That's more than I earn from Audible in a year.
That's more than I earn from kobo, b&n, libby, libro.fm and several author distributors combined in a year.
I’m going to scream.
