The Writing Heirs of Slytherin is a Slytherin-focused, Harry Potter community of writers. Our mission is to support fan-fiction writers of all skill levels, all genres, and all shipping proclivities in developing their craft as storytellers. We believe that fiction is the perfect place to safely explore ideas and that every story deserves to be told. To us, there is no such thing as a story that is too dark, too weird, or too taboo.

Our discord server is 21+, no exceptions. The co-owners, admins, and moderators of the server are a mix of POC, queer, trans, and neurodivergent individuals. Thus, we strive to ensure our server is an inclusive place and that our members always have the space to be themselves.

Soooo, just out of random curiosity, would anyone be interested in a discord server dedicated to music and fandom, likely specifically HP, but possibly a channel set aside to discuss other fandoms? Like taking specific songs and artists and conversing about how they relate back to characters/ships. Maybe some fun little things too, like challenges for songs thrown in for anyone who wants to participate that would allow people to create with song/lyric prompts.

Or am I the only big enough freak to desperately want something like this?

Looking for Harry Potter discord

Hey there, I got back into writing fanfic in the HP fandom and I'm looking for discord servers to join. At the moment I focus on a slow burn Harry/Luna fic I'm rewriting and adding onto. It is canon-diverging from third year onwards but starts around Slughorn's Christmas party in 6th year. I would appreciate any tips on where to look or an invite. So far my search wasn't fruitful but I'm also not so experienced in finding discord servers

hello marauders fandom!!

! me and my best boy jesper @mystcius have started a 20+ DISCORD SERVER for marauders roleplay where we develop and roleplay Hogwarts in the 70s. It’s a really fun server to develop and interact within the marauders community with in character chats, in depth canon roleplays and developments of canon relationship and so on. it’s an all inclusive group where we promote minor and major characters (particularly promoting intergrating minor characters into major plot points too!! no one is excluded here.)

Sirius Black Discord Server

Sooo me and @jennandblitz set up a discord server all about Sirius Black!

It's pretty straightforward: anything and everything Sirius Black allowed. All headcanons, ships, and AUs are welcome and encouraged (including Dead Dove channels that you have to opt-in with to see). We have channels for wolfstar, prongsfoot, siricissa, and blackbolt among others, and upon request are happy to add for other ships!

NGL I do find it very funny that the internet is shading towards using JKR's own terminology as a way to talk about her work without giving her money or letting her search it out by name.

Several discords I'm in refer to HP as "the fandom that shan't be named," and it's a juicy kind of satisfying to do it. It's not quite hoisting by the petard, but it sure is the best kind of petty.

When Pansy slid in beside him, devious smile in place, and proclaimed that she “learned the most interesting tidbit in DADA today,” Draco considered casting an ear blocking charm at himself. 

“I heard about Potter’s Patronus,” Draco groaned. “The student body is eternally fixated on Potter gossip.”

The first he heard of it was in the Slytherin common room, a sixth year laughing over Harry Potter’s Patronus changing from the mighty stag into a flobberworm. Then, while going to Potions, a group of first years were debating whether it was a lion or a dragon until they noticed him and scattered. Finch-Fletchley told him it was a wolf, delivered with a barely veiled threat to watch out, “because you never know what might happen if a wand slips—wolves are ferocious.”

Never mind that Patronuses can’t cause bodily harm. (That Harry wouldn’t hurt him). 

Hippogriff, beaver, horse—everyone had a theory. It was exhausting. Pansy could excuse him for not caring.

“Oh? You know his Patronus is also an Arctic fox?”

Draco whipped around to the Gryffindor table, only to find the man already looking at him. Was Harry blushing ? 

“Thought so,” Pansy said smugly.

My last post has reminded me of something that I honestly forgot was a thing.

Malevolent fans... I love you all dearly. I am a fellow Malevolent fan myself. But you guys do know this podcast is based off of books, right? Like yes technically the story goes in the direction the Patreon chooses, but the locations, the symbols, the gods and things... Are from books. This story takes place in the Cthulhu Mythos. Arkham is a fictional town from HP Lovecraft's stories. Shub Niggurath is also from HP Lovecraft. So is Miskatonic University, the symbols, and so on. The King in Yellow wasn't originally created by HP Lovecraft, but was instead part of the Yellow Mythos written by Robert Chambers. The character Hastur (the King in Yellow) and his lore was then adopted into the Cthulhu Mythos and I think he's actually like Cthulhu's half brother or something now.

But like,,, The King in Yellow wasn't invented by Harlan Guthrie. You can learn more about the King in Yellow and these creatures and places by READING BOOKS. If you want more content in between Malevolent episodes, maybe go to your local library and give the source material a shot!
