When the raven calls
Tumblr media
Morpheus x Female Reader
You, his raven, die protecting Jessamy while rescuing the Dream Lord. When Morpheus returns to his realm, he mourns your loss, only to find a stranger waiting for him in his throne room. The stranger claims to be you, now in human form. He doesn't understand, but his raven will always watch over him.

Notes: This chapter is very episode heavy in some places.
Chapter Ten - Trust fall
☆☆☆
You hear Lucienne and Morpheus talking as you pass the throne room. You poke your head in and find Dream sitting on the steps with his coat sprawled out behind him. In his hand was a book. Lucienne was talking to him as he went through it.
You enter quietly and make your way over to them. Morpheus lifts his head when you enter, and he looks pleased. Not only are you still in human form, but you've returned to his side again.
This pleases him greatly.
"Is something wrong?" You ask.
"Jed Walker is missing." Lucienne tells you.
"Jed Walker?"
Morpheus realises there is a lot he hasn't told you about. He brings you up to speed on Rose Walker and her mission to find her brother. How Jed Walker can't even be found in the Dreaming, as if something or someone was keeping him out.
"Jed Walker is still in the realm of the living, but I cannot find him." Morpheus says. "All humans are connected to the Dreaming. They spend a third of their life here. Breaking that connection would require knowledge. And power."
"Then it may interest you to know that the last nightmare Jed Walker had before he disappeared was of Gault," Lucienne states.
You look up at the window where she is still depicted. "Interesting."
"You think she severed him from the Dreaming?" Morpheus asks her.
"I do."
"Why?"
"Because he's not just any child, is he? He's Rose Walker's brother. She is the vortex."
You had begun to connect all the dots now.
"Excuse me."
You all turn to see a young woman enter from here you had just come from. You find yourself moving to stand beside Morpheus as she walks closer.
"I'm Rose Walker. What do you know about my brother?" She asks.
Morpheus stands up and faces her. "You are welcome here, Rose Walker."
"Who are you?"
"You have somehow dreamed your way into an audience with Lord Morpheus." Lucienne explains. "The King of Dreams. And you must go."
"Lucienne." Morpheus speaks her name.
"She shouldn't be here."
You look at Rose. She could only be 20 something tops. She looks confused but also interested in what's happening. She doesn't really look at you as she listens to Morpheus and Lucienne talk.
"No, but I should like her to stay."
"What is this place?" She asks.
"You're in the Dreaming, the place where people come when they sleep."
"So, I'm asleep right now? I'm dreaming?"
"Yes, and I should like to know how it is you found me." Morpheus says.
"I heard you talking about my brother. Is he here?"
"No." Morpheus steps down from the stairs and walls over to Rose. He comes to stand beside her.
"Do you know where he is?" She asks.
"No. But I think he might be with one of my missing Nightmares." He tells her as they look up at the window.
"She's a nightmare? What would she want with Jed?"
"I don't know. But I have a feeling it has something to do with you." Morpheus looks at her curiously.
"Me? Why? What did I do?"
"It is not what you did. It is what you are." He tells her.
"I'm sorry. I don't understand any of this."
"No. Dream vortexes are largely incomprehensible."
"What's a dream vortex?"
"You are."
You roll your eyes. That doesn't really explain anything to her. Morpheus was hopeless sometimes.
"Once every few thousand years, a mortal is born with a Dreaming ability so powerful, she can travel through the dreams of others." You explain, coming over to join the two.
Morpheus looks at you.
"Apperantly, all the way to my throne room." He says, returning his gaze back to Rose.
"I was just looking for my brother." She speaks softly.
"If you can find me in The Dreaming, you can find your brother." Morpheus tells her. "No matter where Gaukt has hidden him."
"How? How do I do that?"
"For now, keep looking for your brother in the waking world. Matthew will watch over you there."
"I could do it," you say.
"No." Morpheus looks at you instantly.
Rose looks between the pair of you and then at Matthew. She feels the tension building.
"At your service, Rose." Matthew bows his head at her.
"When he is with you, I am with you." Morpheus tells Rose. "Then tonight, when you sleep, you and I will go in search for Gault and your brother together. In your dreams."
"She's just a nightmare, right? She can't hurt him, can she?"
You look down at the ground. Morpheus can see you in the corner of his eye.
Rose Walker wakes. She disappears from the Dreaming.
Lucienne takes her leave for now, as does Matthew. Morpheus looks at you. You avoid his eyes as you slowly try to walk away.
"Wait."
You stop and wait.
"Look at me."
You lift your head and meet his eyes reluctantly. He stares at you silently for a few moments before he speaks. "Is something wrong?"
"No."
"No?'
You sigh. "Do you not trust me?" You ask.
"Of course I do. Why would I not?"
"You were so quick to send Matthew to help Rose."
"Yes?" He regards you curiously. He really doesn't see what the issue is.
"I'm right here. I can do things, too. I still have my raven form, remember?"
"I do."
"So, send me. Let me be your raven again," you plead.
He says your name softly. "It is not that I do not trust you. I just..."
"What?" You urge.
"I don't want you to leave my side."
You frown. "That's not a good enough reason."
Morpheus falls quiet again.
"I'm going for a walk... or better yet, I fly around the palace..." As you take a step, you turn into a raven and fly out of there.
Morpheus watches you go.
☆☆☆
Lucienne walks through the library and spots Morpheus going through the books. She approaches him quickly.
"My lord, may I help?"
"Is this everything we have on Rose Walker?" He asks her.
"And Jed Walker. But I shouldn't think there's anything in those you don't already know. Except perhaps-"
"Exceot perhaps why she was able to wander into my throne room." He finishes for her. "What do you think? Why did Gault target her brother and not her?"
"Did you read about Unity Kinkaid?" Lucidnne asks. "The day you were imprisoned, there were people all over the world who fell asleep and could not wake up. Unity Kinkaid is the sole survivor of what they called the Sleepy Sickness. The day you reutneed, she woke up. Rose Walker is her great-granddaughter."
"Which would seem to suggest that my absence caused the birth of a vortex." Morpheus says.
"Is that not a possibility?"
"Vortxes are naturally occurring phenomena. No one knows why they happen. Not even I know. But I do know they are not caused or created. They simply happen." He explains.
"Then this is all a coincidence? And not am imminent threat?"
"My instinct says no, but tonight when Rose Walker sleeps, I shall see it more clearly. May I?" He takes the book with him as he leaves.
You watch from the book shelf you had been sitting on. Lucienne looks up and stares at you. You say nothing and fly out.
☆☆☆
"You do know I can sense you as a raven? We are connected, after all."
You sigh and land on the table in front of him. He looks at you silently.
"I wanted to know more about Rose." You say.
"You could have just asked."
"I didn't think you would tell me," you sigh.
"Now who doesn't trust who?"
You ruffle your feathers and sigh. It's easier to talk to him as a raven. This way, he can't see you get flustered when he looks at you.
"I'm not trying to fall out with you. Maybe I'm jealous that Matthew gets to be the top raven these days. That used to be my job."
Morpheus is surprised to hear you say that.
"Matthew is new to the job. He needs all the experience he can get."
"Your excuses are becoming boring."
Morpheus feels bad. He is making up excuses. He simply doesn't want you to leave his side at the moment, now while you have him feeling the way he is.
"Come with me tonight."
You look up at him. "Huh?"
"Come with me to see Rose."
"You mean it?" You ask, excitedly.
"Yes."
Your head perks up as you look up at him. He can sense your happiness. He smiles softly.
"However, I have one condition."
"Okay..."
"You can only accompany me in your human form."
"Why?" You cock your head to the side.
"Because I want you to."
You know that's the best you're going to get out of him. You sigh. "Fine."
"I'll call for you when Rose enters the Dreaming again."
"Okay." You fly off.
Morpheus watches you go, wishing you would stay.
☆☆☆
When Rose falls asleep, Morpheus knows. He calls for you as soon as he feels her presence in the Dreaming. You fly to him quickly.
"My condition." He says.
You sigh and flap your wings, turning into your human form. You look up at him and sigh again. "Better?"
"Yes."
Morpheus takes your hand gently and then guides you through the Dreaming.
Currently, Rose is walking through the dreams of her friends.
You both find her through the dream of Chantel, her friend. You follow his gaze as he turns to look at Rose. He says nothing as he grasps your hand and pulls you through the door.
Rose ends up outside on a street where she sees Barbie in an expensive car and Ken, naked, trying to talk to her. Looks like he was having a bad dream.
You stand on the other side of the street with Morpheus, watching Rose. She turns and sees you both.
"Why is this happening? I thought we were looking for Jed." She says.
"We are." Morpheus replies.
"Then why am I in my friends' dreams?"
"Because yo uare drawing the dreams of others to you." He tells her. "Just be careful not to lose yourself in them. Take a moment. Find your path."
Rose's gaze shifts over his shoulder. You both turn to see a poster on a gate. It's one of her missing posters for Jed. Rose walks over to it and pushes it open, going through.
Now you're standing out in the open, watching Princess Barbara on her quest to save the land.
"So, what is a dream vortex? What is it for? What does it do?"
I confess, there are some questions to whichever I do not have an answer." Morpheus admits. "But I can tell you that a vortex has the power to dream entire worlds or destroy them."
Rose walks off in the same direction Barbie headed. Morpheus and you follow her.
A graveyard. A young girl skipping past the graves as she sings to herself.
"Is that...?"
"Zelda. When she was your brother's age."
Rose follows the young Zelda through the cemetery as she talks to herself.
"Is she lost?"
"She's at home here," Morpheus explains. "That is what most people seek when they dream."
"Home?"
"Do you know where that is for Jed?"
Zelda enters one of he crypts close by. Rose follows her. On the door is another poster. Rose takes it and goes through the door. Morpheus and you follow her.
You're standing on a street. Quiet. Homely looking. Other than the three of you, there doesn't seem to be anyone around.
"You know this place?"
"That was our house growing up. Look." She shows you the photo on the poster. You smile at her as you take the poster from her hand and take a closer look.
"You've done it." Morpheus smiles. "You've found your brother's dream. Now we find Gault."
You look around. It's so quiet here.
It doesn't stay quiet for long. You watch in interest and confusion as sand swirls around and a young boy, dressed like a superhero from a comic, appears. There's what appears to be a ruby on his costume too.
The sand. The ruby. You chuckles softly.
"Halt, King of Nightmares, or I'll send you both to Dreamland."
"Jed?" Rose asks.
"I am the Guardian of Sleepers. I am Lord of the Dream Domain. I am the Sandman."
You giggle softly.
Morpheus smiles. "You are the Sandman? Is that what she told you?"
Jed gets defensive.
"Where is she? Your master."
"Stay back."
"Jed, we're not here to hurt you." Rose tells him.
A woman comes up behind Jed and places her hand on his shoulder. You look at her curiously. The woman looks just like their mother.
Gault.
"It's me you want. Not him."
"Oh my God. Mom?"
"That is not your mother, Rose." Morpheus tells her, stopping her from getting close.
"Rose?" Jed removes his mask.
You watch the siblings hug.
"I've been looking for you everywhere." Rose tells him.
"Mom, it's Rose. She's all grown up."
"I'm sorry, Jed." Morpheus removes Gault's disguise.
"What did you do to her?" Jed yells.
Rose makes Jed look at her as she talks to him. Rose explains to him what is happening and then asks where he is.
"I'm right here."
"No, Jeddy, this is a dream. When you wake up, where will you be?" She asks.
"Uncle Barnaby said he's gonna break every bone in my body." Jed says, getting upset.
You frown. What are they doing to this poor boy in the waking world?
"Who's Barnaby?"
"Aunt Clarice won't be able to stop him."
"Where are they, Jed? Where are Aunt Clarice and Uncle Barnaby?"
"They're home. They're in Homeland." Jed says.
"Where is that? Where is Home Land?"
"Come, Gault. We must go." Morpheus says.
Gault crouches near Jed and looks at him sadly. "I'm sorry, Sandman."
"It's time to wake up, Jed." Morpheus states.
"Wait!" You try and stop him.
"Goodbye, Rose Walker."
Rose tries to get more answers from Jed, but Morpheus ends the dream.
You're now standing in the throne room. Morpheus is there. Lucienne, too. Gault stands there looking at Morpheus with disdain. You sit on the steps slowly.
"Do you have any idea what his life is like in the waking world?" Gault asks.
"Humans cannot live in dreams. As long as he stayed there, the child had no life nor the chance for one."
"The boy is being abused. He's suffering." Gault tells him.
"You abused that suffering to build a Dreaming you could rule."
"I had no wish to rule. I merely wished to be a Dream and not a Nightmare." Gault says to him. "To inspire rather than to frighten."
Your gaze softens as you look at her.
"The choice is not yours to make. We do not choose to be created. Nor do we choose how we are made."
You gaze down quietly. Dream has always been so particular about things, but do you not prove change is possible? You are different now from how he made you, and yet he leaves you be.
It doesn't seem fair.
"That is true." Gault agrees with him. "But we can change." Her gaze looks at you. It's like she read your mind.
"No." Morpheus says. "We are, each of us, born with responsibilities. Even I am not free to choose to be other than I am. Nor is anyone."
"Is that were true, why did all the other Dreams and Nightmares choose to leave this place when you had gone away?"
"Not all of us chose to leave and nearly all have returned." Lucienne chimed in.
"Do you think they came back out of love?" Gaulat asked her. "Or because they were afraid of what you wouldndo to them if they did not?" She addresses Morpheus. "Because I'm not afraid."
You hear Morpheus move behind you. The room grows tense.
"You should be."
You look up at him over your shoulder, but he does not move his gaze from Gault.
"A Nightmares purpose is to reveal a dreamer's fears that they may face them."
His shadow descends the stairs past you and toward Gault. You know what he's going to do.
You can't take it any more. You get up and you leave the room.
Morpheus sees you go. Lucienne watches you. Gault does not move her gaze from Dream.
It's only when you're halfway down the hall that you realise you're crying. You reach up and touch your cheek. Your fingers come away wet.
"Oh..."
Now you really do feel human.
You head to your room to be alone.
Lucienne comes by to check on you. She feels for you when she hears you crying softly. She hugs you gently, holding you to her. She's never known you to be so emotional before.
"How can he do that?" You ask.
"I don't know..."
"It's not fair. He's not fair."
Lucienne says nothing as she holds you. You cling to her for comfort. You've never felt more human than you do now.

1st anniversary (Liam)
William Victor Victor epilogue Liam Liam epilogue
The event is full of Liam's oddities. If you haven't read his route, you probably won't even understand what's going on. The boy has very big problems. And, considering that the event take place a year after the main route, he got better, but not much. This is especially noticeable compared to Ellis, who has become almost normal. Yes, I also read Ellis's event. He's my favorite after all. But I still can't decide whether I should write about it or not. I'm sure someone will do a full translation, so there's no point in giving you a summary.
So...
The story begins with Liam being unable to concentrate at rehearsal because Victor has already given him an assignment. Spend the day with Kate and decide whether she should stay at the Crown or not.
Tom noticed that Liam was not himself, and gave him the day off. So Liam left the theater earlier thinking…
Tumblr media
He doesn't even want to imagine his life without her. But… As if summoned by his thoughts, she stands at the entrance to the theater and waits for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was a little ashamed of his selfish decision
Tumblr media
So… He decided in his own way to convince her to stay, showing her how wonderful the Crown was. He likes it here, so he has a lot to say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He remembered asking her out a year ago. It turns out that it wasn't entirely out of the goodness of his heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, I'd like to see a person who hates you. Really. It's like hating the cutest animal in the world… what is it… koala… penguin? Whatever…
So… He invites her to test his newly invented tour. And she happily agrees. The first stop was at the Crown building. And for a moment he was afraid that she might not like this building.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wonder what Her Majesty would say to that. I would definitely laugh. It's so silly…
The next stop was the entrance. There they met Jude and Ellis, who had just returned from a mission. Jude gave Liam the canned fish.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My first thought was… Why do you want to poison my boy? It sounds like… I don't want to throw it in the trash, so I'll give it to you. But I completely misunderstood him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jude gave him really weird, unusual things that an ordinary person wouldn't dare try, but it's perfect for our curious kitten. And it definitely won't kill him. Jude, you're so kind! But, of course, not for free.
After Jude and Ellis left, Liam told how Jude first approached him. It was the day Liam screwed up his mission. So Jude overwhelmed him with work and…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An interesting phrasing. "Kind of like Jude" or "Jude's way of showing kindness". I'm not sure which of them Liam meant, but I like both.
The next stop was the dining room. All of Kate's favorites were there.
Tumblr media
Where they meet Harrison. When they tell him what they are doing, Harry just smiles and asks Liam to explain it later. Harrison deffinetly noticed the lie. But Kate didn't find anything strange in this remark and asked Liam to introduce Harrison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, sweets. It's very easy to please you)))
And the last stop was the dance hall. William was there, playing the piano.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before William pointed this out, I hadn't thought about it… they really are a cat and a bird…
Willy said if they wanted, he would play another song for them. They cannot decide, so William does it for them. Chopin's waltz No. 9, which is often called "Farewell".
I just listened to it… very familiar and very beautiful. I can easily imagine William playing it…
William explained that Chopin wrote this waltz for his beloved when they were in a relationship. But later her parents opposed him and they broke up. And despite the fact that the waltz was written at the happiest moment of their lives, it still sounds very sad… like a farewell…
Liam thinks William probably knows about his assignment, which is why he's telling this story…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, Willy… My sweet romantic…
They went into Kate's room and Liam asked her what she thought of his tour. She said that everything was fine, but she felt that the most important thing for her was missing…
Tumblr media
NO! No, no, no, no, no, no! Liam! Babe! It's OK… You did nothing wrong! Don't bottle up! Everything is fine…
And on this wonderful note, we have two paths.
Normal ending
Kate tells him that no, he didn't make a mistake. But she didn't have a chance to explain herself because Victor suddenly showed up.
Tumblr media
And they go on a mission. Liam uses his ability to be invisible and sneaks into some place to gather information. On the way back he had a seizure. He had a very odd internal conversation. But he suddenly came back when Kate hugged him.
She explains what she meant earlier. He talked about everyone, but never mentioned himself. He is a part of the Crown, and she, like any other new member, would like to hear about him. That's why she wanted him to tell her about himself. They laugh and apologize to each other. But Liam is thinking…
Tumblr media
He asks her if she will stay as his fairy taler. At first she is surprised, but of course she agrees.
So Liam signs the agreement
Tumblr media
He literally cannot imagine any future for himself without her in his life...
Premium ending
Victor didn't showed up in this ending, so Kate immediately explained herself. And Liam remembered that at every stop of the tour, she tried in a roundabout way to get him to talk about himself.
This time he tells her about agreement and asks her what she wants. And she, of course, asks him to let her stay.
After that, Liam came to Victor with a signed agreement. Victor, as always, tries to spend more time with his beloved kitten, but Liam is in a hurry. This time, Kate is giving a tour. And the title is…
Tumblr media
Completely agree with Victor. It's cute.
And, remembering the story Will told them, Liam thinks. That in the future people will perceive their story as a "tragedy" or a "farewell story", but they will not know that until the very last moment they were happy together…
Oh, Liam...
So… I still can't decide whether to buy his epilogue or not. Probably I will. But I still haven't decided whether I should read the normal story of Ellis or Jude… or even Harrison. And after that I'll chose which epilogue I wanna read. I have time, so I'm not worried. And considering that I spent all the crystals (or whatever they are called here) on the last premium attire at Ellis route (it was too pretty), I can only buy one epilogue. Decisions. I hate decisions…

I'm bored, so it's time to talk about Zutara. Again. I already talked about their connection while in the catacombs.
Tumblr media
But what about after that?In the beginning of book 3, they are apart for the most part. Something interesting to me is that right after Zuko helps Azula defeat the gaang, he's on his way back to the Fire Nation and Mai comes to talk to him. She asks him if he's cold, to which Zuko begins to open up a bit. He tells her that he has a lot on his mind, he wonders what has changed, he wonders how he has changed. Now, we have never seen Zuko open up like this before. Actually, no, scratch that. We did see Zuko open up like this before when he was in the catacombs with Katara. And how did she respond to this? With warmth, with understanding, with compassion. But how does his canon love interest respond to this? She yawns, tells him to stop worrying, is sarcastic, and then kisses him. Do you not see the difference?
Tumblr media
In the following episodes, the gang is hiding in the Fire Nation. I just want to point out these episodes because, I'm not saying that it was her talk with Zuko that influenced a part of this, but it is very interesting to see how involved Katara gets with the Fire Nation. She is excited to wear their clothes, she participates in the dance, she helps out the people in the village by donning a disguise heavily associated with their culture, etc. I just want to point this out, because a common criticism about them as a couple is that Katara would want nothing to do with the Fire Nation due to her trauma and it's like...baby, did you watch the show?
Tumblr media
Now, when Zuko tries to join the gaang, obviously he's turned down. What's interesting is that, out of all of them, Katara is the one most against it. Which makes sense, she feels personally betrayed by him. She even admits that after their conversation in the catacombs, she felt sorry for him and trusted him. We all remember that conversation she had with him at the end of the Western Air Temple episode. This Katara and Catacombs Katara are different. If Zuko said that he wanted to join the gaang at the end of book two, I'm almost positive he would not have gotten this threat from Katara. We all saw that episode. We saw how they connected. We saw how they opened up to each other. No, he would not have gotten that threat from Katara. The reason why she is like this towards him is because she feels personally betrayed after she trusted him and opened up to him while they were in the catacombs. The pirates, the necklace, chasing down the Avatar, those have nothing to do with this. It is because of what happened in those catacombs.
Interestingly enough, for someone that doesn't trust him that well, she definitely has no problem letting her brother and the Avatar go off with him on missions alone. And each time they came back, they were fine. With these little adventures, she was slowly starting to see a new side of Zuko. Another thing, which should be apparent in the GIF above this paragraph. In the Southern Raiders episode, when Zuko is falling from the sky, who is it that reaches out to catch him? Katara. The one that trust him the least out of the group. The one that feels personally betrayed by him. The one that threatened to end his life. She is the one that reaches out to catch him. And it's in her character, I cannot see her willingly letting somebody fall to their death. But, I just want it very interesting that out of all those people on Appa, it was her that reached out for him.
I'm not going to talk about the whole episode here. I could do a whole breakdown of that. But I just wanted to bring up these moments here. It's the little things.

part 4 of valorant hc's (i have too much to talk about this. please send help.) Viper does know who Omen was before whatever the hell happened that made Omen to what he is now. Viper will not tell Omen because Viper refuses to see them as the same person- in her attempts to move on and stop grieving for who Omen was, she refuses to let Omen even consider trying to go back. She knows it wont be the same. Cypher doesn't have any photos of Nora. His memories of her are fuzzy and contain certain smells, textures, and little things he remembers more clearly than the rest of it. Despite his best attempts to not forget, he doesn't really remember quite what she looked like anymore and it scares him deeply to think he's forgotten her. He thinks that it is a betrayal to her. Cypher really, *really* hates when its humid out. unfortunately for him, the VALORANT protocol is stationed on well.. an island. So, oftentimes, he's up at 6 in the morning stumbling blindly onto the helicopter to fly to a mission site while it is humid out. Cypher hates it mostly because his mask always ends up feeling damp and it is harder to breathe in. Omen often holds onto people when he doesn't want them to leave. This includes when another Agent dies in front of him. Oftentimes, since Omen is too cautious to take a fight he can't win, he ends up carrying one or two of the other agents (dead or fatally wounded) to the extraction site. Many of them appreciate this company, though the younger agents find it unsettling. It is an ironic little thing since Omen is most talkative and protective when someone is dying in front of him. Omen doesn't know why he does it; it is not a learned behavior. It probably stems from how he cannot stand to be alone when he is hurt because he can and will fall apart painfully. Cypher probably smells like a mix of spices and cinnamon. He cooks a lot for the others on his own time. He prefers for his room to smell similarly because it reminds him of his home. Cypher likes to whistle! He doesn't do it often, but he does whistle to songs he remembers hearing along the street. He stopped because the others often laugh about it when he does. Cypher has quietly sang under his breath over comms in the middle of a mission while aiming a gun to kill someone. It unnerves most of the others because Cypher uses it to focus before he ends a life. Omen often reprimands the duelists that gloat about their kills. He finds it vain and disrespectful to mock the dead, even knowing that they all will be revived in the end and will persist to fight again. He doesn't like the idea of becoming indifferent to death to the point of laughing about it, even if he cannot help but feel apathetic about the lives he takes. Cypher probably has his computer displaying everything in Arabic. this is mostly so that other agent's just plain can't understand what he's looking at. It frustrates the younger ones the most that they can't look over Cypher's shoulder at Cypher's phone and figure out anything relevant. Cypher only really uses his phone to text the other agents and look at cat pictures from time to time, or look up recipes from Morocco that he isnt so sure about. Omen likes to help with cooking. He isnt very good at cutting things up, but he likes to mix things together and to arrange them in preparation. Cypher often brings Omen to his room so they can cook together since Cypher misses rambling while he cooks. Since Cypher likes to taste it while he makes it, Omen just tries his best to not look at Cypher whenever he tugs his mask up to taste whatever they're stirring. Cypher doesn't bring the other agents back to cook with him because he only trusts Omen not to mention it. Sage has seen Cypher's face. its just,, unavoidable, seeing as Sage is a healer. Cypher loathes that fact, but trusts her nonetheless. He prefers to be alive with one person knowing his face than to be dead and left to be forgotten entirely.

I just never understood the mentality or logic of:
"Azriel only wants a mate"
so....
He goes for the already mated Elain Archeron?
Why? She is the one person he knows couldn't be his mate, then. Wouldn't he be looking for anyone but her?
Anyone want to volunteer and tell me why, then? Canon text only, please.
It is my understanding that you cannot say "He only wants a mate" and "He just wants sex from Elain" in the same sentence, as those are conflicting arguments.
Or are you saying, he only wants a mate, but he's content to use Elain for sex while he waits?
Which, if so, ew? Do you think any Elriel would want that?? That's literally such fuckboi behavior.
And you'd think Gwynriels would agree with this. Because why would they want their girl Gwyn to be with a man who is willing to play with another woman's feelings like that? Or willing to get down on his knees to taste a different female?
But they still support Gwynriel. Why?
Because despite what they say, they know Azriel is not a fuckboy. He is the most respectful of the batboys. He has defended women in this series like no other male. He was patient with Feyre. He understands Nesta. He respects all the work Elain does.
He is not the gross playboy that Antis make him out to be in that BC. He is not the type to flit from woman to woman. He loved Mor for 500 years and then moved onto Elain. He is not going to just forget about her and move onto the next girl within the 2 pages in a Bonus Chapter. And he didn't. Even after the BC, he is still stone cold at trainings. He doesn't go to family dinners.
Does someone who only want sex act like that when they get rejected? Or do they move on to the next pretty thing and immediately get over it?
People are using all the excuses in the world to explain away why Azriel & Elain were almost about to kiss in the bonus chapter.
When often the right explanation is the simplest one: Azriel has feelings for Elain, that is why he wanted to kiss her. Why he got her a present. Why he stared at the gift she gave him for a year. Why he lost sleep over her. Why he was ready to beg on his knees for a taste of her. Why he saved her from Hybern, knowing it was a suicide mission. Why he made everyone wait till she was seated at the dinner table to eat. Why he gave her truth teller.
SJM said "I thought it was obvious." Because it is.

Any advice on how to write overprotective giants or other large monstrosities? How do I make them strongly morally gray, know when to limit the dehumanization and adoration of tiny person of interest, and how the giant seems to believe they are in the right with detaining a tiny person? Asking for a friend! Definitely not me, a lurker questioning if I should start writing on tumblr or any other writing websites....
Ooooh, fun!!
It definitely all boils down to what your giant views their brand new tiny as and whether or not they can understand each other. You can take Edix and Jacob, for example, where Edix solely sees Jacob as a pet which is heightened by the fact Jacob cannot verbally stand up for himself to disprove that. Of course Edix loves him and would never intentionally hurt him, but that love is only as strong as that for a puppy at best. It's pure adoration at the cost of being a plaything and because Edix assumes that Jacob is so weak and helpless, he fully believes he's in the right to do whatever he feels is necessary to protect him.
Comparatively, you have Ben and Milo, who can perfectly understand each other and have a tentative parent-child relationship. The problem is that Ben doesn't know how to be a legit parent, especially to something so small and foreign to him, so he has to rely on what he knows as an exterminator to keep Milo safe (trapping and caging). He's not trying to be cruel on purpose or upset him, but he can only use what limited knowledge he has at his disposal until Elysie can put him on the right track. In that case, the dehumanization can't really be helped, but Ben still recognizes it for what it is and feels guilty all the while.
Then you have someone like Taiyo who is more morally grey. His mission is to destroy all the parasites festering on Earth, which will in turn save humanity, but if humans also happen to get caught in the crossfire of a fight, well...oh well. He doesn't go out of his way to hurt them, but he's not too pressed if they are, and the only human he actively protects is Kumiko for his own personal reasons. He respects her boundaries for the most part, but that doesn't stop him from grabbing her, moving her, or shielding her when she's in immediate danger, despite what she might protest. That's an example of balanced adoration and dehumanizing, in which he'll give her some of the space she asks for to keep her content, but he'll be damned if he ever lets her try to hold her ground even though she's more than capable of doing so.
All in all, it really depends on how the tiny is first viewed by the giant. A pet, a toy, a friend in need, a crush at first sight? What kind of love are they blinded by that would make their morally grey views shift in favor of keeping this tiny from harm, and is there any real harm to begin with? Do they think the tiny needs defending simply because they small and weak in comparison to the giant, or is it because they're young, or injured, or recently defenseless?
Can the tiny ever sway their opinions that they don't need to be coddled either by telling them or showing with their actions, or will there always be some reason that the giant won't budge on despite conceding on other points? Does the giant feel guilty for their behavior, are they able to imagine themself in the tiny's shoes and knowing they'd also detest the same kind of treatment, or is it still a necessary evil in the grand scheme of things? Are they worried for the tiny's safety, or are they just possessive and want them all to themself?
If the tiny is deemed a pet or a toy, the giant probably isn't going to care much, maybe even joke about how much tiny puts up a fight despite living a new life of snuggled, babied luxury. If the tiny is something of a platonic or romantic interest, the giant might be more willing to meet them halfway on some treatments, even if they can never fully give in on leaving them totally alone in fear or something happening.

Altami Headcanons! 💕。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。
I apologize that they just go randomly. I just wrote what came to mind. 😅 Besides Altaïr and Tami, I also gave a few headcanons about Sabina. :3
Enjoy! 💗
When they started dating, Altaïr always goes to visit Tami after completing a mission. He either helps her with chores or ranch work or they both read books, cook, watch movies/shows, play video games, draw, or just lounge and cuddle. But from time to time, both of them go on an adventure!
Altaïr was introduced to the TaE Family, who welcomed him with open arms, but some were still uneasy with his presence like Taino, Elphina, Emma, Jarrod and Maiev, but as time passed, they were eventually glad that Altaïr was Tami's faithful partner. Despite this, Altaïr and Jarrod have a bit of a rivalry with each other.
Tami was introduced to the Assassin's Brotherhood later when Altaïr took her to the Falcon's Highlands for the first time. Like her family to her boyfriend, the assassins welcomed her with enthusiasm.
The two are always together. Always. And both become very inseparable after marriage. They do almost everything together, but they don't mind when one of them goes to spend time with family/friends.
Every relationship isn't perfect, and that's true for Altaïr and Tami as well. They rarely have a disagreement about something stupid, they argue and then don't talk to each other for few hours. Nevertheless, they both feel sorry for their beloved, apologize to each other and cuddle together in forgiveness. Fortunately, both of them understand each other very well and can always come to an agreement. Simply, communication, loyalty and affection are the most important for them.
Since Altaïr lost Adha, he doesn't want to let anything happen to Tami and he tends to be overprotective. That was one of the reasons why he always sticks by her side. He kisses her on the face, checks to see if she's eaten/drank, dries her with towel after showering and snuggles up to her while sleeping. Despite this, he still gives Tami space when she needs it and won't allow her to be separated from her family.
Tami tries to say nice words to Altaïr in Arabic, which warms his heart, and he tries to do the same to her, but in Slovak. They both play a guessing game, what the other one says in their native language. Also they address each other with pet names in both Arabic and Slovak.
Both are introverts, so they don't show much affection in public, but when they are alone, they show each other affection in all forms.
Tami can imitate and make animal sounds such as pigeon's cooing, cheetah's chirping and purring and also Hunter's growl. She can even imitate other people's voices. Altaïr learned to purr from her, because the idea of them both purring while cuddling is cute.
Due to the trauma of school, Tami hates being yelled at and starts to shed tears. That's why Altaïr doesn't allow himself to shout at his beloved or their daughter. He cannot be angry at them.
Tami introduced Altaïr to her pets (Beaky, Raven and Kamari). Her partner was unsure at first as he had never seen dinosaurs before (the first time he had seen them from a distance when he got to Havaykia) and a cheetah so close. Tami convinced him that they were friendly and had been riding Beaky together. After a while, Altaïr finally gets used to them.
Altaïr has a pet female golden eagle named Caukasa, whom he found injured in the Island of Eagle and took care of. When he released her back into the wild, Caukasa always followed him until finally he "tamed" her. Caukasa helps him find targets on missions. Altaïr also takes care of abandoned and injured pigeons and doves.
Tami showed him more about dinosaurs and animals, while Altaïr told her about physiology and astronomy. Once she tells him about evolution and he still can't believe that 375 million years ago humans were once fish.
Altaïr's favorite dinosaurs are dromaeosaurids such as Deinonychus, Utahraptor and Velociraptor, as they resemble birds of prey. From the herbivorous dinosaurs, he likes the iguanodontids because of the pointed "thumb" which resembles blade.
Altaïr doesn't like to be without a beard and mustache because he would look like a "kid", but also he doesn't like a long beard for looking like an "old man".
At first, Altaïr thought animation was only for children, but when he and Tami first watched the Lion King, he cried so much at Mufasa's death that his girlfriend had to stop the movie and comfort him. It happened again while watching The Land Before Time (the first one) and he cried again at the death of Little Foot's Mother. Today, he considers animation to be an art form and even prefers watching it over live-action movies/shows.
Altaïr doesn't like sweets, while Tami can't resist the sweet taste, but she tries not to eat it too much. They both love spicy food, especially with chili.
Altaïr used to have a minor ophidiophobia (fear of snakes). Tami's oldest adopted sister, Elphina, is a lover of snakes, and she showed him that snakes are not evil creatures, but misunderstood animals that deserve respect, thanks to which Altaïr overcame this fear.
Of course, Altaïr couldn't swim, and for that he has thalassophobia (fear of deep water). In his old universe, he used to go to wash in a river that wasn't deep, but he usually tries to avoid deep water. According to him, swimming is not suitable for stealth. Because of his inability to swim, his brotherhood mocked him, but Tami and her family decided to help him and taught him to swim on the beach a few kilometers from the ranch. Thanks to them, Altaïr finally learned to swim (at least the basics). Well, once he played Subnautica with Tami, and that made his thalassophobia even deeper.
Tami has tonitrophobia (fear of lightning), acrophobia (fear of heights) and fear of doomsday. One night there was a storm and lightning struck not far from the ranch and Tami was crying in fear. Fortunately, at that time Altaïr was with her and comforted her by cuddling. Tami had trouble with heights when she had to learn the Leap of Faith, but in one mission she was being chased by Templars, so she managed to overcome her fear by jumping into water and escape. And doomsday is her worst fear. She is worried not only about her family and friends, but about nature and everything she loves will lost from existence forever. She is also afraid that after death there will be nothing and she will never see her loved ones. Thankfully, her partner and family always cheer her up.
Their common fear is abandonment. The thought of being left alone is terrifying for them. Altaïr lost his loved ones, while Tami fears that one day her loved ones will leave her.
One day, Altaïr ran away from the hideout to the TaE Family's Ranch for Tami due to he couldn't stand the taunts from the other assassins anymore. He said that the other assassins made fun of Tami as well and that was the last straw for him. TaE Family offered him to stay with them as long as he wanted and he agreed. Surprisingly, Altaïr is more tolerant with TaE Family than his fellow Brotherhood members. Of course, a few days later, Bayek and Amunet came and begged Altaïr to return to the brotherhood, because without him they would not defeat the Templars. At first Altaïr refused, but Tami decided to join the brotherhood, shocking her partner and family. Arriving in Falcon's Highlands, the assassins apologized to Altaïr and never allowed themselves to making fun of him (only playful nudges) since then due to Tami is defending him.
Abbas tried to ruin their relationship (like in Looney Tunes xD) many times, but he never succeeded.
Even though Tami became an assassin, she still doesn't know combat well and prefers to avoid conflict. She mostly uses sleep, berserk and poison darts with a blowpipe, making it easier for her to progress through missions.
Altaïr and Tami were married under a blooming magnolia tree.
Altaïr, Tami and their daughter Sabina were born in the winter season: Tami was born on December 18th, Altaïr on January 11th and Sabina on February 15th.
When Sabina was born, Altaïr decided not to do assassin's missions in order to devote himself to his family and protecting them.
What Altaïr loves most is when he sleeps holding both of his loved ones in his arms and snuggling up to them.
Altaïr and Tami were thinking about having another child, but they were worried about Tami's health or if Sabina would be jealous or if they were even able to take care of two children at once. Only time will tell…
Since childhood, Sabina has been interested in farming, like her family friends, the Palins family.
Altaïr mostly helps Sabina with her homework from school, while Tami helps her with biology and computer science homework.
In Sabina's teens, she starts dating Pablo. Her parents were happy for her, but Altaïr reminded Pablo that if he hurts Sabina, Altaïr will stab him (jokingly of course; and I'm tired of the jealous father trope).
As Sabina grew, Tami realized that sooner or later their daughter would leave them, and she was saddened by this. Altaïr and Sabina comfort her and promise her that they will be together forever. 💗 (this headcanon was inspired by this song 🥹)
Bonus: Drawing which I believe Sabina drew :3

did aleksandr ask for alina's consent before installing the stag collar on her body? if he didn't, isn't that a form of assault?
A form of violation and betrayal, yes. A form of rape-y act directly against Alina out of some sort of inner perverted evil as they are constantly painting it (even continuously implying Aleksander is the most responsible for what happened to Genya), absolutely no. It's disgusting and disrespectful towards his character.
It's difficult to pinpoint what exactly bothers me about this particular and continuously stressed metaphor in the show, but I'll do my best to explain.
For book!Darkling the matter is a bit different and the justification for his actions is more pragmatic and less personal, but Aleksander in the show is an immortal being constantly carrying with him hundreds of years of excruciating pain, loneliness and heartbreak, a still very present and very painful humanity, for the sake of trying again and again to save his persecuted people. He lost everyone and everything, repeatedly, but the old abusing mother that loathes him and that he nevertheless stubbornly loves. He is resigned to this living eternal hell, because he believes he has a noble and selfless mission to accomplish. The only problem is that, no matter what he does, no matter his efforts, he simply doesn't possess the right kind of power to "change the world".
Then, many centuries down the line, a miracle happens. Not only a miracle that could put an end to all wars, a forced perpetual peace (this is what he wanted to do weaponizing the Fold, forcing all the countries to stop all conflict at gunpoint), but a miracle that could mean to him specifically the end of his personal solitude and despair.
So, he tries to do his best to give this girl everything he would have needed as a young boy and was denied to him, someone who believed in her, someone who taught her, someone who could make her feel her worth and unique destiny, someone who assured her she was not alone. But since of course he has a duty, he thinks, towards Ravka and his people, since he is the adult of the situation, since he is the eternal mastermind, he obviously cannot only selfishly focus on making her love him. He has also to make sure she follows the path he had schemed for her in the most efficient and direct way possible, for the sake of everyone.
That's the reason for the half-truths, for the faint general deception - Aleksander is not a fake groomer who is trying to brainwash a young girl, he is a desperate man whose soulmate is a frightened child who has to save the world and give sense to thousands of years of collective suffering and efforts, his own included and that, in his opinion, has to be guided since he cannot afford to have her fail or to lose her.
Everything goes better than anticipated, she even effortlessly grows feelings, real feelings, for the real him. Then one night his mother tells her in the worst possible way an exaggerated for the worst version of the truth, and she flees without even a second thought or thinking of hearing his version of the story.
We can safely affirm Alina betrayed him first, but not only on a personal level, which I'm sure he would have immediately forgiven, but she, in his mind, had turned against the salvation of Ravka, on top of being a deserter of the army he was the general of.
Those are the events that led to his decision to decide for her about herself, decide to take control of her power, to forcedly share it. And even in this case he continuously tried to make her see reason, to talk to her, and she just continuously shunned him and exaggeratedly hated him for the sole reason she was told half-truths by the person in the most difficult position on planet earth.
This is when Aleksander decides that, for the time being at least, taking control of the Fold is more important than her free will. He also thinks he has lifetimes to make amends, to make her understand.
Am I condoning his actions? No, it was indeed a violation and a betrayal on a personal level, but it was a decision I completely understand from his point of view, even if I find it morally wrong.
If one single person in the world had the cure for cancer in their blood and yet refused to donate it for whatever reason, what would you do? Respect them and leave thousands to suffer? Or would you do an amoral thing for the greater good and force them to? What is the greater good? You see, it's pretty much the trolley dilemma Aleksander faced. I don't think there's actually a psychological winner. There's only a mathematical winner - the suffering of one instead of the suffering of many.
All this has obviously nothing to do with the disgusting way the show is painting it, over and over, as if Aleksander was basically an ideological rapist. Is more complicated than that, more noble than that, don't you think?

The Problem with Rayllum
Here is my promised salt post about my issues with how Callum and Rayla's relationship and individual characters were written in season 4. I know a lot of people really enjoyed the season, so please feel free to skip. I have no idea how long this is going to be since I intend to ramble until I've gotten all the Big Feelings off my chest. I still love the show (arc 1 will always be one of my favorite stories), and I adore these two and their precious relationship... it's one of my top two OTPs of all time. I want to see them happy, but I also want their characters done justice.
First off, a lot of my issues could potentially be resolved by what happens in season 5 onward, and I truly hope this is what happens. I want to be able to look back on season 4 and see it as part of the whole picture, even if I seriously doubt it will ever be one of my favorite seasons (right now it's for sure my least favorite). I went in with a lot of hope and faith in the writers, and I'm going to be watching season 5 with a lot more caution.
For starters, Callum. This sweet boy was dealt a devastating blow that fundamentally changed him as a person, but 4x01 makes it abundantly clear that he's still deeply in love with Rayla, to the point that he can't even be happy on his own birthday because of how achingly he misses her. When she abruptly reappears in his life, his reaction is realistic. He's cold and distant and makes it clear he does not want to talk to her. If anything, he seems annoyed that she showed up. But as he says later on, the two emotions he immediately felt were happiness and anger. We see the former at the very end of the finale, but basically none of the latter. Instead, he spends the entire season icing Rayla out, turning down her multiple attempts at getting him to talk with her. And I can't help but wonder why. Does he not want to get angry at her? Because boy, he needs to. He has EVERY RIGHT to be furious with her, for leaving him behind and never letting him know she was okay and then randomly popping up in his study in the middle of the night without so much as an apology (more on that later). This is what I expected and hoped for going into season 4... that he would snip at her for a while, leading up to a confrontation where all the Big Feelings come out. He needs to let himself be angry, to shout and scream and let out two whole years of hurt, because I'm not convinced Rayla understands just how deeply she wounded him. But instead, he just seemed... indifferent, if not mildly irritated by her, ignoring her flirtacious remarks (or icily shutting them down) and turning away her efforts at a conversation.
Speaking of Rayla... GIRL WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN AND WHY DID YOU JUST NOW DECIDE TO COME BACK!?!?! I'm honestly flabbergasted by how they approached Rayla this season. Through the Moon and "Dear Callum" were such lovingly crafted looks into her psyche, and all that just fell flat on its face. I still really loved seeing her this season, but they did not address the fallout of her decision at all, and she seemed more or less unchanged by it. In "Dear Callum," she expresses her belief that she very likely may not come back, and despite how desperately she longs to stay, she cannot return until she knows for certain that Viren is dead and therefore Callum is safe (that's another issue... she says she was after "revenge," but TTM and "Dear Callum" show that her main motivation was protecting Callum). But she never found Viren, or any proof of his demise. So why come back? Why go two whole years and then randomly decide to give up? The first words out of Callum's mouth after her name are, "Why are you here?" She offers no explanation beyond, "I came back." Girl why? What happened? Why did you change your mind, when your self-appointed mission isn't complete? Especially when, as far as I can tell, she doesn't understand that what she did was wrong. That's why, despite acknowledging that her leaving was painful for Callum, she doesn't apologize. Because in her mind, there's nothing to apologize for. She did it because she loves Callum, therefore it's right. But then again, why apologize to Ezran and not to Callum?
That's another reason I think Callum needs to fully express his anger at Rayla, not only for his own healing but to show Rayla how wrong she was, that he may be safe physically, but his heart has been shattered beyond repair. That he's no longer the same sweet, open-hearted boy she left behind entirely by her own doing. She seems to have some awareness that she tossed their relationship away ("We had something so special"), but for the most part expects to pick up where they left off, hinting at wanting to cuddle him and go on walks alone and receive his attention the way she used to (kind of strange, considering how terrified she was in her letter that he would hate her for this). Ezran even acknowledges how much she's trying to get things back to they way they were. But she can't, not without understanding the gravity of her actions. I need season 5 to demonstrate how Rayla's journey changed her, because right now it seemed to have very little impact. Again, most of this can be fixed by future seasons, if they take the time to explain just what happened to Rayla during her time alone and what motivated her to suddenly return. And I'm decently confident it will, since clearly there's going to be a lot of Moonfam drama going down.
As for the Rayllum relationship, I was initially upset that there was no romance, especially with how it was hyped up in the marketing and after reading so many wonderful fics. After sleeping on it, I realized that's not my problem with it. It makes perfect sense that they wouldn't be ready to snuggle and kiss again yet. Most of my issues stem from the points addressed above, that Callum treated her so coldly instead of telling her how he felt and that Rayla expected to resume their romance without an apology or explanation (and dang, it was painful to watch him reject her, like a knife in my heart). A lot of their interactions were just... weird, as Soren put it. She sweetly tells him he was the best thing that ever happened to her (while he sleeps), then just... leaves and doesn't show up again until that night. Why? Where'd she go? What was she doing? She didn't think it might traumatize him to leave again while he slept, right after she came back? Lucky for her it didn't... which is even more weird. Callum doesn't even acknowledge Rayla's absence, or that she ever came back at all, upon waking up. She could've left for good again. That could've been the last time he ever saw her, and he's completely unfazed. Again... so, so weird coming from the lovelorn boy in 4x01. But one thing I just can't accept, that future seasons can't smooth out, was that when push came to shove, Callum let her go. Rayla sees Viren. Her worst fear, that impossible fear that drove her to abandon Callum for two years in the first place, is realized. Viren is alive, and this time, Callum knows it too. It makes sense to me that she'd go after him... this is her chance to complete her mission, to protect Callum once and for all. What doesn't make since, what I seriously doubt ever will, is that Callum lets her. This time, he knows she's right. He saw Viren with his own eyes! She's not chasing after a ghost, but a very real and very much alive dark mage who she nearly died fighting before. Yes, I think he was right to give her his blessing to fulfill her mission, but not in letting her go alone. Without him. He just got her back after two years! Two years of not knowing if she was dead or alive! Two years of misery and pining and feeling like his heart had been torn from his chest, and he just lets her do it again! This was his chance to prove to her that she was wrong, that they're stronger together, that they always have been. That she can't keep leaving him and breaking his heart, even if she thinks it's what's best for him. Particularly when there's a very good chance she could die. Callum has always called her out on her self-sacrificing tendencies in the past, but this time, when it matters most, nope. He lets her go without any argument. And then, he breaks down and sobs over her blade, believing she died in her efforts. Which was very sweet of course, and a much-need reassurance of the depths of his devotion to her, but honey??? You let her go, you let her run off alone to what would've been an impossible battle. What did you expect? I fear that had Rayla not gotten the coins, she would've continued chasing Viren and company instead of returning to the group, making it all for nothing. She's right back where she started.
There you have it. Most if not all of my salt over Rayllum in season 4. Thankfully, the season ended with Rayla wrapped in Callum's arms again, and the implication that he's ready to talk to her. But as much as I ravenously desire them to get back to the sweet, romantic, pitifully-in-love couple they were before, I need them to TALK. I need it to happen ON-SCREEN. I need Callum to vent all that heartache and betrayal, and I need Rayla to apologize, really apologize, and assure him that whatever they have to face in the future, they will face it together. I don't want Callum to forgive her while she thinks there's nothing to forgive, I don't want him trapped in an endless loop of abandonment and heartbreak, and I don't want Rayla left pining after the love of the man she's so hopelessly devoted to while he lets unspoken emotions continue to fester.
Let Callum voice his hurt. Let Rayla own up to her mistakes. Let them talk. Let them work through all the pain between them. Let them save each other's hearts and grow back into the precious love they've found. Please do my Rayllum right again.

Chapter II: A Million Dreams
When Hybern falls, all of their prior experiments are free to take the world as they want, but for months no one hears anything coming from the castle. Until the massacre. Until the whole palace explodes. Their biggest weapon is out, and she only has one objective: get back to her sisters.
Warnings: mentions of blood, mentions of child abuse, mentions of experiments with human beings, mentions of child murder (please someone tell me if I forgot something)
I love this song so much it hurts
Imagine baby Azzie singing this in his tiny little cell dreaming about a mate that wouldn't be born until five hundred years later 😭😭😭😭
Than baby Aemma singing this in her tiny little cell without even knowing what a dream is 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I like to hurt myself apparently
I'll let you guys find the lyrics to rhe song in the middle of the chapter, good luck
I'm not sure if I like this tho, please leave a comment, I'm the happiest when someone sends something 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Azriel's POV
The days seemed to be passing slower than usual. For the past few years it became easier to deal with all the love and the countless mating bonds snapping around me all the time. It wasn't hard to be on the side of the room and keep unnoticed by everyone, the shadows hovering my body made it even easier.
It kept like that until the Archeron sisters moved officially to our lives. Feyre wanted everyone to be happy, wanted all of us together all the time. She was a little ball of happiness and wanted to spread it to everyone around her. For a good part of the time it worked.
Nestha, on the other side, wanted everyone to be miserable, just as she was. It made me understand her at some point. For as long as I can remember everything always felt horrible when everyone could be happy and get over their fears and problems and accept themselves with their mistakes and you… you can't. You need to hate yourself because that's everything you ever knew how to do with no mistakes. Differently from me, Nestha indeed tried to make everyone miserable, I didn't have the courage, but I always thought. Numerous times. And now she found her mate, her self love, her family, her strength. And now she battled for everyone to find their own too.
And then we have Elain. Sweet and delicate Elain. She wanted everyone to feel calm and find their spot of peace. She wanted to be mine, the same as I was for her in those early days, years ago when she came here for the first time after turning into a fae. I used to dream with Elain's face years ago, it was blurred, as if something didn't want me to know who she was, where she was, how to reach her. I thought she would be my mate. But Lucien is hers, I can feel and smell their mating bond, yet something pulls me to her. My mind or my heart I'm not sure, but something. I never told Rhysand, fear covering every part of me, rejection and despise filling my brother's expression every time he caughts me looking too much at the middle sister.
It became harder to be invisible now that Feyre tries to cheer me up, Nestha tries to make me feel deserving and Elain tries to make me feel loved. It doesn't work. Any of them. I laugh and I feel happy around my family, I love them. But I am not happy. I don't feel like I deserve anything but sorrow and suffering, and I definitely don't deserve love. Especially from Elain. She loves the thought she has of me. It didn't take me too much time to figure out my shadows were always hidden from her because she cannot associate me with them. She knows my suffering, my pains, my sadness, but not my soul, my heart or my mind. And she would never truly know, the pain we suffered is too different to match in any way.
That's why I spent the last five years running away like a stray animal. Work and missions fill my mind in every waking hour of the day to the point I can't even think of something else. I don't think about Feyre's happiness if only death crosses my days. I don't think of Nestha's force if only work fills my days. I don't think of Elain's love if only grief surrounds my heart. I don't think about the way I hate myself if only hate for my enemies fuels my thoughts.
- You don't need to do this - Rhysand enters the weapons room while I'm filling every part of my clothes with something sharp - We can send another spy, or even Cassian, you know, he could use something alive as a punching bag right now.
- No need. I'm going - I say quickly, wanting to end the interaction as fast as possible. My relationship with my younger brother has been strained since the last time he told me to stay away from Elain.
- Az. You barely slept in the last week, if the beast is too strong you won't win. You might get hurt - I get down to lace my shoes once again, doing everything to avoid this conversation. Maybe if I got hurt I would finally wake up from this nightmare - Azriel, are you listening to me?
- Loud and clear, Rhys. I just don't want to talk - The same way I never want to. I never wanted to - This is the last one and I won't do it until next week.
- You need to come back alive. Nyx can't lose his favorite uncle - He says, a plea and a warning at the same time.
- Don't let Cassian hear this, he might get grumpy until next year - He laughs and gives me a small grip on the armor rounding my shoulder, almost if he could give me luck with it - I will come back, don't worry. I always do.
- I know. Just… Feyre is not sure if you should hunt the beast now. She's not feeling confident about it - I shake my head as a 'no', I won't give in.
- I won't let that monster terrorize any more villagers, it's ridiculous - He agrees and steps back, allowing me space to winnow.
- It's just a feeling though, I know you can do it - It's the last thing I hear before shadows involve me in every way, the usual feeling of folding the time and space in two to make it to another place.
With one last breath I begin my hunt.
Aemma's POV
We are finishing winnowing everyone to safety, each girl bringing a bag with something, if their clothes, a weapon or books it doesn't matter. We all have a story to tell between our things.
The border of the Night Court is calm, the place we are going being a clearing in the middle of a beautiful and dense forest. The climate is warm in the open camp, but is so surrounded by trees and vegetation that it creates a soft breeze that makes the air feel comfortable and wet. It's good enough. We know the High Lord will notice any big moviment in his borders, and that's exactly what we are counting on, for someone to find us so we can offer our work and ask for help. We need them to know we are here.
I'm counting everyone that's coming, at the same time making sure that all of our travelers are well and strong to keep bringing more, just a few more girls to come. We've been coming in small groups, to make sure no one would be sick with the amount of land we would have to cross in one big jump if we tried a direct way from Spring to Night.
Suddenly every sound disappears from around me, nothing but silence fills my ears. I straighten my posture and look around, trying to find where the danger is, my senses being flooded by alert. Some of the girls notice my behavior and assume a position of attack, preparing themselves too, but I don't look at them. I see more. I see far.
Miles away from our position I can smell fear and blood and despair. I also feel something inside of me tingling and pulsating, desperate for attention. I don't even put my hand close to any of my weapons. I won't need them. I let Enchantress take in the situation, her as desperate as the string inside of me to go there. To do something.
Before anyone can ask I winnow myself to the other side of that shiny thing on my chest. The scene is not pretty at all, whatever that beast is it's trying to eat the winged fae in front of me - an Illyrian, I notice, from the thousands of classes I took about different species in Prythian.
He is trying to fight for his life, but he is tired and sloppy and weak, his state of tiredness clear by the slow movements and the unfocused eyes, as if he couldn't exactly see the beast attacking him.
Slowly I let Enchantress take control, feeling death take every part of my being and filling me with only anger and hunger. I don't see the scene happening in front of me, but I can feel the blood covering my hands, I can hear the screams the creature is shouting. And I don't care, I can only focus on that bright blue string coming to life on my heart, tightly moving me forward.
I don't need weapons.
I don't need powers.
I need that beast dead and that's exactly what I'm working on.
Azriel's POV
I was stupid.
Stupid, senseless, reckless, stubborn, anything like that. But admitting that won't save my life. I might die if I don't fight back. I will die if I don't get help. I scream for Rhysand or Cassian or even Feyre to come. I scream inside myself for anyone to hear me and help.
I shouldn't have come. I should've let Cassian come on my place. I should've slept more. I should've told everyone I loved them. I don't know how many times I said it to them. It wasn't enough.
When I was a child I used to dream a lot. I used to close my eyes to see the world that was waiting up for me, the world outside the cells I lived in. A world I could call my own. A world out of the dark, a world outside the door, a world I have never been, but that would feel like home.
Every night I finally took myself to bed, and all the brightest colors filled my head, my mind imagined scenarios I would never reach, not inside that cell. A million dreams to keep me awake when my instincts screamed for me to fly, when the pain in my hands were unbearable, when the scars never faded, when the shadows started to whisper to me. Everything I had and knew was those dreams.
I thought of what the world could be if I was outside. I thought that even if I was a bastard, even if the other kids would hate me, if I didn't have a house or a family, even then I would be happier than what I was.
When I dreamt of a girl I remember to shy away from my mother's touch, I whispered in her ear about the most beautiful female I ever saw - or imagined - thinking she would be sad that it wasn't her. She laughed and told me to keep her memory and find her when I become an adult. It took me hundreds of years to dream of her again.
When I saw Elain for the first time I thought she was the one, but her eyes weren't the same color, or her hair, or the fierceness in her eyes. She was the same. But different.
Now, laying on the ground, my face dirty with blood and my chest burning with the cut that slowly was closing, I think I'm dreaming again. Blue filling my vision as I see a female dilacerating the beast that attacked me. It's not pretty or clean or fast. She is taking her time, enjoying the screams and making a mess on purpose. Yet, that's exactly like one of the million dreams I used to keep inside my head for the moments I felt too alone in the dark.
My shadows fly over her, making the image even more beautiful as she kills. My senses start to recover from the numbness, I start to feel my heartbeat slow down to its normal pace. The beast shouts its last scream before having his heart taken out of his own chest. It's messy, but in the eyes of a spymaster, official torturer of the Night Court it can easily be a dream. Sometimes I have nightmares with the things I do, sometimes I ravish in those actions knowing I just made the world a bit safer than before.
The female that attacked him and saved slowly gets up on her feet, her posture immediately changes as if she became another person. Shs seems to take in the surroundings, and even slower she turns on her feet to look at me. I think I'm still affected by the cut because I only see Elain in front of me. But with different eyes and darker hair. A vision of paradise.
- Are you alright, sir? - I hear her voice asking, my brain clearing the fog around my senses. Yet, is still the middle Archeron sister I see in front of me - Are you Azriel? Spymaster of this court?
-Elain? - Her eyes widened fast and she quickly dropped to her knees in front of me, her smell of coffee and wood flooding every part of me, scratching my brain in the right places.
- You know her? Is she here? Can you take me to her? - She smells so differently than Elain though. Elain… so delicate, smells like jasmine and honey, sweet. The female in front of me smells strong, certain, furious. Is she furious with me? - Sir? Do you think you need a healer?
- No. I just need time - She offers me a hand as I move to get up - Who are you?
- First I need to know who you are - I look at her, but she is already facing me, blue eyes sharp against me - I just saved your life, I think I deserve this.
- I'm Azriel, spymaster of the Night Court, as you previously asked - The cut closed completely, just a line appeared where it was bleeding until now. But I didn't drop her hand yet - You? - She still looks uneasy, her eyes darting back and forth to my shadows and the forest - You asked if I knew Elain Archeron, I do. She is my High Lady's sister, they both and Nestha are under my protection. Who are you?
- High Lady's sister? Do you mean High Lady Feyre? - She drops my hand and steps away, her eyes flooding with tears as I agree.
-Tell me your name. Do you need help? - She seems to remember something important as her posture strengths and a shadow curves over her ear, pooling over her shoulders, but those are not mine.
- My name is Aemma Archeron, I am Elain Archeron's twin sister. My grandmother sold me to Hybern years ago to test me with the Cauldron. I was one of the few survivors of their tests, but I have almost a hundred and fifty other females with me and we are trying to find a place in the Night Court, if you could be kind enough to speak with your High Lord and Lady… my sister - She whispered the last word, still unsure. My brain stops working for some seconds until I scream against Rhysand's shields, sharing the story with him - I think I could use some help, yes.

it's like. animorphs is not a series about how toxic gay love saves the world. but if you wanted to write animorphs as a series about how toxic gay love saves the world, one thing you might do is towards the end of the books, you might have jake, the leader of the crew, basically propose marriage to cassie, his sweet girlfriend, because he wants them to agree to get married after the war because he's desperate to hold on to the idea that there still remains a version of him after the war who is not tainted by this. like, "we can still be normal heterosexuals after all this is over." and you'd have her turn him down, gently, because, well, no they can't.
and then you might have him figure out a plan that would enable him to win the war and also would condemn his cousin and his brother to death, the kind of tactical genius he has never actually demonstrated in the series, the kind of ruthless strategic thinking actually represented in the books by his best friend and right hand man marco. you might even have him make a note to seeing the clear bright line of the plan, an echo of the language marco used in an earlier book when talking about the perfection of his plan to kill his mother, which ultimately was near perfect except that in the end he couldn't quite do it, so jake took the choice out of his hands by wrestling him to the ground. and then you would have that plan win the war and also destroy jake spiritually forever.
and then maybe you would throw in some kind of epilogue chapters where some weird shit is going down like, idk, marco is occasionally morphing bird to spy on jake but not talking about it. maybe there would be a scene where jake would be like "i feel guilty about the 17,000 yeerks i murdered in cold blood" and cassie, his sweet ex girlfriend, would be like, "we all did what we had to do," and jake would be like, "that's not helpful here," and marco would be like, "i know. because when you gave the order, you were thinking, die you pieces of shit. rot in hell like you deserve," and then jake would be like, "yep that was it exactly," and cassie would look away. just like to really emphasize the dynamics at play here in terms of like what is tolerable to who and who fits in the world's allowable borders and who doesn't and who has long ago accepted that about himself and who still wishes it weren't true. and then jake, who cannot live a life of any kind on earth in peacetime anymore, would end the series by going on another probable suicide mission he can't tell anyone about, and he would insist on leaving cassie behind because she had a real life now, but he would go to marco's mansion, past his butler, and find him by the pool, and know that he wouldn't even have to try at all hard to recruit him; he would just need to show up and say what was happening and marco would instantly abandon his life of wealth and celebrity and dating models to follow him once again into the jaws of death about which they once again cannot tell anyone. that would feel like a fitting ending.
and, well. guess what happens in the animorphs series. if you guessed "all of the above," congratulations! you now understand why i am insane.

hello hello! its me again back at it with the babies bc i am insatiable and i cannot get enough of your writing 😭💕
would you be up for toddler and teenager phases with reaper/gabe? something about the idea of reaper trying to handle a moody teen who takes after him is just- i am going to EXPLODE 🥺🙏
notes: yes i'm living for your requests!! i kind of went off the rails with this, i'm so sorry ;__; i hope you like it though! warnings: f!reader, loose grasp on concepts of masculinity and parenting. Gabriel and Reaper with toddler and teen child HCs (+ bonus drabbles)
Gabriel:
Gabe with toddler is a real treat to see, as he gets to release his more lighthearted, goofy, and imaginative side.
The best storyteller going will do all the voices (but gets a little embarrassed about anyone at work knowing this.)
Keeps up with the bilingual teaching and beams with pride when they start speaking Spanish.
Lets the toddler use them as a climbing frame, swings them around to their heart's content, and never gets tired.
Takes it really hard if he misses a milestone because he's out on a mission. Often someone caught it on camera, but it's not quite the same
Buys them their basketball jersey and baby hoop.
Would enjoy Bluey (because he's a man of good taste after all) and would hate Peppa Pig (same reason)—sometimes whistles the Bluey theme tune, and you can't convince me otherwise.
Gets extremely stressed if they sustain any slight injury at all.
Takes them into Overwatch for office days on occasion as a toddler. They love visits to Uncle Jack's office or when Ana lets them play fight with her.
Still brings them to Overwatch as they grow up, especially when they seem to be going through a tough time. They find everyone at Overwatch cooler than Gabe, or at least that's what they tell him (but they secretly hero worship him and all the others.)
Continues to teach them proper gun safety, takes them shooting and emphasizes the gravity of what guns can do.
Understands Ana's opposition to Fareeha wanting to join Overwatch, and has to have you talk him down from stubborn overreactions when the subject is mentioned.
Does bond with them over sport. Takes one-on-one time with them at their favorite games, and if they play, he'll try his best to attend games around missions.
Teaches them to cook too, especially dishes he loved growing up.
Struggles with the mood swings if they say hurtful things. If his kid ever said they hated him, his heart would shatter into a million pieces.
Tries to encourage openness and honesty, so they can feel safe discussing anything at all with him, even if he squirms like crazy giving "the talk".
Again, has to be talked down from being the stereotype of overprotective father when his kid starts dating, but he learns to trust their instincts and values. After all, you both raised them to value their own autonomy and to have good instincts about people.
But he almost finds himself crying with them the first time they get their heart broken, and he desperately wishes he could do anything to take the pain away.
Loves helping them pick outfits for school dances or other special occasions.
"You ready?" You ask your daughter sweetly, looking her over as she fiddles with the costume.
She frowns, a look you're familiar with indicating that she's feeling self-conscious and shy. "What do you think, mama?"
You kneel down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You look perfect, don't forget to do your impression, okay?"
"Okay." She confirms, yet still seems unconvinced.
"Can we show Papa now?" You ask, readying her for the reveal.
It's Superhero day at preschool, and she knew which hero she wanted to be the moment the day was announced.
She hesitates, the uncertain expression still in her eyes. "Maybe..."
"What's up, baby?" You stroke her sweet face, careful not to smudge the scars you just painted onto her face.
"What if he doesn't like it?" She frowns, her eyes averted from your gaze.
"He's going to love it, promise." You smile, and finally she softens. "Ready?"
She nods, and you call out to Gabe. "Ready?"
"Ready!" Gabe replies from the other room. He was hoping for something cool, maybe Captain Marvel or Wonder Woman, but he was about to get an even great surprise.
You open the door for your daughter, and the two of you walk into the living room.
"Ta da!" You call out, as your daughter crosses her arms over her puffed up chest and dons the most adorable, unconvincing scowl.
"Baby..." Gabe drops to his knees, staring at your daughter with welled up eyes, and he toys with her black beanie. "Baby... are you dressed as me?"
"Yes, papa, do you like it?" She asks, hesitant at her father's reaction.
"I love it." He nods, tightening his jaw and willing away the tears.
"You're my hero." She cries happily as she hugs his neck. "Don't cry!"
"Can't help it." He laughs, and your heart swells as you watch the scene. "Don't tell the bad guys my weakness, okay?"
"Okay." She giggles, pulling away to press a kiss to his cheek. "Te quiero mucho, papa."
"Te quiero mucho, baby." He whispers, casting you a look that shows you just how much his heart is melting. "So I guess once we pick you up from preschool, we better head to base. You've gotta start bossing Uncle Jack around now."
******
"Vete a la verga, papa!" ("Go to hell, dad!") Your daughter shouts as she slams the door upstairs, a loud thud that echoes round the house.
"Cuida tu lenguaje, jovencita." ("Watch your mouth, young lady.") Gabe calls back, anger in his tone as he admits defeat and storms down the stairs.
When he emerges into the kitchen, he's still muttering in Spanish.
"What did you say now?" You sigh, exasperated at the way the two of them have been butting heads lately.
"Ella tienen un humor de perros." ("She's in a bad mood.") He grumbles. "She'll get over it."
Reaper:
Hates the terrible twos and tantrums (because no one is allowed to be dramatic as he is), and sometimes you find him and the toddler both pouting.
Doesn't sweat the small stuff like grazed knees or hands, as he knows it's how the toddler learns. He still keeps a fierce watch over them, though.
His blood boils hearing kindergarten stories about other kids mistreating his child, doubly so if he senses an adult has taken a dislike to his kid.
Sometimes struggles with the high-energy moments of raising a toddler, but thrives when they're sleepy and just looking for cuddles. He makes a great pillow.
Does have to try harder to maintain his patience, and understand the lack of malice in the actions of a toddler. Sometimes he finds it hard to keep his cool when toys are being thrown or bedtime is being avoided.
Tears up more than he likes to admit at milestones and small moments, gets really sentimental and insists on keeping baby teeth, locks of hair, etc.
Keeps their drawings, even if they're just colorful lines and splotches.
Gets a family dog, and thrives seeing the bond between his kid and the dog.
Doesn't like wearing tiaras, drinking pretend tea, or the smell of play dough (deals with it all anyway.)
Feels parts of his soul repair when his kid says "I love you" for the first time.
Regrets teaching his kid sarcasm, because holy shit, do they have it in spades.
Is the overprotective father suspicious of everyone who wants to date his kid, regardless of gender. He might not show it outwardly, but he's often sharing his worries with you and prone to forgetting how scary he can actually be.
Both loves it and hates it when gun lessons show his kid to have an aptitude with shotguns.
Offers to drive them anywhere and everywhere, as it means he can keep tabs on them and keep them safer.
Teaches them self-defense, takes it very seriously.
Gains major cred with his kid for using the correct pronouns for trans/nb friends.
Curses them out in Spanish when they do something especially dumb.
Tries to pick up video games to help relate, finds FPS games annoyingly difficult, definitely grumps if he gets called out on it.
Cries at the high school graduation, begs you not to tell their kid.
Gets called "old man" by his kid, makes his eye twitch 1000%.
"Papa?" Your son's sweet voice interrupts the silence as you and Gabriel sit on the couch reading. Your son climbs onto his father's chest and pokes at his face.  "Grumpy."  He comments simply.
"I'm not grumpy." He says, yet his brows are knit.
"Papa grumpy." The toddler comments once more, mimicking the frown before fiddling with his face some more. He prods his fingers into Gabriel's cheeks, forcing them into a smile.
"Papa happy." He says with a grin.
"Papa happy." Gabriel responds, finally cracking with a genuine smile.
*****
"I don't know Mom, can I?" Your son responds, completely exasperated. You don't even need to look up to know he's rolling his eyes.
"You can do it yourself. You usually do anyway." He groans and makes his way to leave the kitchen.
His exit is blocked by your husband's heavy frame, his eyes glaring down at your son.
"Don't speak to your mother like that."
He comments, a quiet sense of rage filling him. "Your Abuelita would have your head for that." He growls.
"Good job she's not here then, isn't it?" Your son responds in an instant—the cruelty sounding strange even from his usually sharp tongue.
"Go to your room." Gabriel snaps, his voice raising as he steps aside yet puffs out his chest, unable to look his son in the eye.
Your heart clenches, knowing how the words would cut Gabriel so deep. They already hurt you, but his mother's memory was a sacred one, and your son had crossed a line. Despite his usual teenage ways lately, this was a step too far.
"When did he get so moody?" Gabriel comments gruffly, as you approach him and attempt to soothe him with a comforting touch.
"Hmm, wonder who gets that from." You whisper, pressing a kiss to your husband's cheek.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He pouts, going rigid with annoyance.
You laugh lightly. "Sure you don't."
Gabriel pulls away, the stormy expression still on his face.
"He's been struggling lately. I didn't mean to, but I overheard him talking to one of his friends." You sigh—now was the time to tell Gabriel the truth. "I've been meaning to bring it up."
Gabriel's attention is caught. "Bring what up?"
"You're so hard on him all the time. He thinks you hate him." Once more, your chest hurts. You know it's the furthest thing from the truth, but all your son craves is his father's approval, and your words haven't done anything to soothe him.
"He does?" Gabriel's eyes darken, as a piece of his past self bubbles up inside him—that same feeling he once had to always prove himself. The one that drove him to the police, the army, to the SEP, and beyond—ending in his near death experience and everything that follows.
Gabriel swallows deeply, his anger abating as he turns and heads upstairs to his son's room.
After a knock or two, he's greeted by a disgruntled "What?", before he announces that he's heading in.
"Hey." Gabriel offers casually, yet his boy doesn't meet his eye.
He sits on his bed, swirling the butterfly knife Gabriel got him for Christmas round and round. Gabriel takes a seat beside him.
"You can talk to us, to me, if something's bothering you." He offers, trying his hardest to sound even. He loves his son with everything he has, and he doesn't want him to grow up like him, constantly pushing things down.
His anger most days might be exacerbated by his physical condition, but the experiments only exaggerated what was lurking underneath.
The boy's knife play stops, his expression softening, yet he doesn't turn to face his father.
"I know dad." He sighs. "There's nothing to talk about, though."
"Then why are you acting out with your mother?" Gabriel asks.
"I'll apologize to her. Sorry."
"It would be better if you just explained yourself." Gabriel says, but his son now just falls quiet.
Gabriel studies his son's expressions, sensing his quiet softening and yet his clear reticence to open up at this time.
"Suit yourself." He replies, yet resolves to make a greater effort in the future to change things for the better. "I know you can take care of yourself." Gabriel's words finally have his son looking at him, the validation and approval clearly working.
He slings his arm around his son, pulling him closer. "But we're always gonna look out for you, your mama, and I. I'm proud of you, though."
His son looks sheepish and embarrassed, turning his face away yet not moving from his father's touch.
"Talk over?" He mumbles, his voice higher pitched than usual.
"Talk over." Gabriel nods, pressing a kiss to his son's head before making his way out of the room.

how would the Zoldyck family react if they find out that hisoka and illumi are an item?
silva
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ bro is still kinda trying to get the "illumi likes men" thing. silva can kill hundreds of people at once and is the most feared assassin ever, but when it comes to his kids actually having... like... lives... his mind just empties.
・❥・so when illumi just pulls up with "hisoka and i are dating" in the most unemotional tone known to man, silva's brain doesn't really process it right off. he sits there for like ten seconds straight in silence with an intimidatingly blank stare. imagine the little "loading..." thing over his head
・❥・and then he gets it. he blinks. looks at hisoka and illumi awkwardly, with a brow arched or something. then looks down at kikyo, who is sobbing on his shoulder into his shirt.
・❥・he stares at his wife for a few more very long seconds before looking back up at his son and his maniac pedophile clown bf, rolling his eyes as he gestures with his head for them to just go.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
kikyo
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ she was never on board with hisoka and illumi's whole thing to begin with. she does not understand why Illumi wants to spend all his time with hisoka, who she thinks is creepy and overly eccentric, when he could be spending time with a lovely woman who also kills people to carry on the Zoldyck name.
・❥・and she really wasn't with the gay thing anyway. she would have lots of perfectly eligible murdery women meet illumi in hopes that they would get together and bear a Zoldyck child. but here he is. kikyo just cannot understand it.
・❥・although, it's a tiny bit less about the gay stuff than it is about the fact that it's hisoka. hisoka. him of all people. why? his aura is repulsive, he runs around in crop tops, heels, waist trainers, makeup, and pink hair. illumi had already been poisoned, kikyo could tell, when he started with the crop tops as well. but it had been worse than she had thought. now here they were, the disgusting clown and her perfect illumi saying they were dating.
・❥・it was enough to make her burst into tears- and cry she did. the second illumi finished his sentence, the waterworks began. now it was too late.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
zeno
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ "Like I care. Just don't have sex in the house."
・❥・enough said
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
alluka
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ i don't know how she'd find out, really. maybe killua told her? but despite the fact that Illumi doesn't even consider alluka a family member or even a human being, she'd be thrilled for him <\3
・❥・"Big big brother has a boyfriend? Really?!"
・❥・she'll want to know everything about hisoka- what he looks like, how he behaves, what about him attracted her brother. romance thrills her, no matter who it's between or if the people involved are trying to kill her☹️
・❥・"Will I get to meet him? :D"
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
kalluto
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ he'd been collecting clues for a while. he noticed when illumi stopped cutting his hair, when his clothing style changed, how much more often Illumi was going to hisoka for assistance in missions and such rather than his family- whether he actually needed the help or not.
・❥・and when illumi joined the phantom troupe "per hisoka's request," and when he spoke of an "engagement ring" and "prenup" despite there being other less fruity terms he could have used to describe the contract- kalluto was almost 100 percent sure.
・❥・ the kicker, though, was when kalluto found out that they had contracted each other to kill... each other. they both shared the same twisted idea of "romance" and "friendship," and this basically set kalluto's suspicions in stone.
・❥・so kalluto half-heartedly played dumb when Illumi announced their official status as a couple- but long story short, he wasn't surprised. he isn't really fond of hisoka, but he sees no point in messing with the relationship, so he doesn't care much overall.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
milluki
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ this mf doesn't look up from his computer screen and potato chips and weird dolls long enough to even notice that hisoka existed, let alone how much time he and his brother spent together. so he's wayyy out of the loop when illumi makes his announcement.
・❥・bro almost chokes to death on his snack when illumi's done. when he finally pulls himself together, he gives Illumi a look and is basically like "ew, weirdos"
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
killua
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ *screaming intensifies*
・❥・illumi. his psychopath brother. hisoka. the pedophile clown man who has a crush on his twelve year old best friend. dating. illumi. gay. with. hisoka. what the fuck what the duck what the fuck
・❥・this could go two ways. one, illumi makes his announcement, and killua immediately starts dramatically falling to the floor and screaming hysterically while pretending to vomit. may or may not ask if he can put a hit on himself. hell, he'll demand someone put a hit on him- he'll be waiting with open arms for them to come and end his misery
・❥・or, killua takes matters into his own hands. he doesn't react at all before calmly exiting the room, walking through the halls, entering mike's domain, and simply climbing up the dog's fur into his mouth. perhaps he'll take a stroll up to the roof of the house and throw himself off?? either way, he's ending this shit

I know we’re way past it, but that miscarriage Elena had just messed me up.
Is Klaus going to ever find out? Tyler?
And will maybe Elena ever get pregnant when she with klaus because a girl need her HOPE lol
The miscarriage is the darkest point of this story-- it was also the hardest part to write, but something I also felt couldn't be shied away from just because it was hard-- one of the core missions of this fic is to write about hard things in a real way, despite the supernatural trappings-- and to try to give them the emotional weight they deserve, which is so often glossed over in media. (Like, depression and grief are not story arcs. They cannot be resolved in 4 or 5 episodes, and it's offensive how often those things are treated that way with a simple solution. The reality is there is no single solution. Time doesn't heal all wounds. We just hope and pray that we grow strong enough to hold those things, that we find room inside of ourselves to hold them.)
Anyway.
The miscarriage is not "over" as a story element. Elena is still grieving it, but she's grown able to bear the burden of it. That happened over the years and years alone at the manor when she had to find a way to do that or else give up and die. It could certainly come up again in the right circumstances.
I'm not entirely sure whether either Tyler or Klaus would ever find out. If Elena sees Tyler again, she might tell him-- or she might decide to spare him the grief of a child that died years ago, and keep that pain to herself. Especially if she thought he had a chance of being happy. I'm not saying I think that is the right thing to do, just that I could see her choosing to do that. And also... because I think she might be afraid to open that door inside of her heart again, to crack it wide open as far as she would need to to tell the father of her lost baby what happened. But who knows. Maybe sharing that with Tyler would bring her some catharsis, and maybe she would do it because she thinks he has a right to know, painful as the knowledge is.
As for Klaus. I also don't know. The thing about the miscarriage is that the entire grief of that episode-- the entire existence of this child she loves despite not even knowing she existed until after her death-- belongs to her. Solely to her. Right now, it's not something she would ever want to share with him. Perhaps she might in the future. She would have to both want to tell him and need to tell him, for her own reasons, emotionally. He's certainly not going to find out otherwise. I don't think Rebekah would tell Klaus casually-- even she understands what a confidence Elena was sharing with her, and besides-- she thinks it was a normal pregnancy with Matt or something.
What happens exactly with this thread is something that I'll only know for sure once I get there. It's going to depend on what is right.
(I also thought Elena would tell Klaus about her suicide attempt in New Orleans in chapter 41; that happened in the original draft, but I realized as I was working on it that she would keep that back from him-- it wasn't the right time emotionally for her to share that with him, if she ever does.)
As for whether she will ever get pregnant again in this fic-- it's certainly possible. She knows that hybrids are fertile, or at least, they are fertile when sleeping with her. (She might not realize they are generally able.) It might be something on her mind were she to sleep with Klaus again. (when, lol)
But whatever the case, as I have promised many times before, Elena herself is going to have some version of a happy ending when all is said and done. Whether that includes having children with Klaus is something I will leave as a "read and find out!" (But: can you imagine having children with FE!Klaus????? YIKES)

Exactly 1000 words of xcomau backstory angst with Missa alone in the prison cell chewing over why nobody is going to save him (its okay someone is going to save him). I... probably won't ao3 this until I've worked out writing his rescue. Have a few ideas, need to play with them. It's proabbly a second chapter but I don't think I can maintain the pretty word count lol.
Mentioned injuries, starvation, torture, etc.
The cell is damp and dark and cold. Missa's bloody clothes do nothing to save him from it, not as he curls in the corner. The cell is underground and completely internal, starved of any light or of indication towards the time of day. He knows he's been there a while - he's been fed a few times, but kept hungry with all of them. With the food comes torture, though - he can feel how his nose is broken, and the blood still sticky on his torn about skin.
He had been stupid, too stupid, of course it had been a trap! It was always a trap, and he never listens; Spreen had told him again and again to be careful, to stay hidden and snipe from a distance.
But there had been a /child/, a little girl, and Missa…
Missa had not thought, he had just acted.
He went to the girl, and tried to get her to safety, and then all of a sudden she grinned. Before he knew she had called for her papa, and there was a needle in Missa's throat.
He's lucky, he supposes, that he woke up at all.
He doesn't feel it.
Rescue isn't coming, Missa's pretty sure of that, and even if it does… His brother leads their haven, Missa knows how they stay safe; if he is rescued they will be followed, and then the secrecy that keeps them safe is gone. There are too many people who cannot fight at their haven, far too many to risk. Sometimes people go out to rescue those who were captured, but…
But a rescue mission means nobody gets to come home. Not for months, at least, until the Federation tire of the chase and any implanted tracking devices have long run out of battery.
So Spreen won't come, because Spreen has everyone else to think about - Missa knows this, Missa has always known this, but that does not mean he has to like it. He wants his brother, to be tugged a little too roughly into his arms, to be told that everything is okay and he's safe and they'll try again tomorrow. Spreen has always been there, and was always supposed to be there - bailing him out, and saying it's okay, you'll make it someday.
If not Spreen, who else? The people at camp know better, and he's nobody's best friend, nobody will be willing to die for his stupidity. Once he might have counted on Roier, but…
Dead cat, dead dogs, a bullet in the back and a corpse in the wilderness, and Missa knows better than to think about that.
It's how he knows not even Spreen will save him, though; if Spreen killed Roier for leaving and coming back, Missa knows he won't come for him. Neither will anybody else, because it will kill them all. Missa knows this, he understands this.
Missa does not want to die, but he knows that saving him from his own stupidity is not worth the lives of everyone.
So he will die here. He is going to die here, and no matter what he does or does not do all paths end the same.
He is cold and hungry and injured and weak, curled on the floor of a cell and rapidly loosing his body temperature to the concrete. He's too weak to warm himself, his body having slowly, slowly been shutting down for a while now. His tears have run dry, and his throat is raw from all the whimpering he has done, and sometimes it's difficult to tell if the darkness is just darkness or he is about to faint.
He has definitely fainted a few times, but he isn't really sure. Once or twice he remembers sitting up and then suddenly being on the floor, in more pain and dizzier and confused.
After the third time it happened he decided to just lie down. He can't hurt himself falling, if there is nowhere to fall to.
He's not sure why he bothers; cracking his skull on the concrete sounds much more pleasant than continuing to slowly die, torment prolonged by occasional deliveries of food and water. Oh, sure, they feed him from time to time, and they do give him water, but it's not enough; all it does is delay the inevitable, and yet he eats it anyway.
Missa is a weak, weak man. He knows it, he understands it, but it does not change the fact.
Maybe there's still hope in him, silly as it seems; once he dreamed of a shining saviour swooping in to carry him away. His prayers were answered, then, with Spreen's fists breaking the bully's nose and convincing his parents to take Missa as their own.
These days…
Time skips again; he's thinking, and then there's water and half a slice of toast, and Missa just barely forces himself through the motions of consuming them before he curls up again.
It hurts, it hurts, it hurts…
His body screams for more, eating away at itself. He can taste blood with his pain, but swallows it down - he cannot risk it, cannot risk what little fluids he has left. He is never going to be saved, nobody will come for him, but still he hopes and he prays and he fights the inevitable.
Eventually, sleep steals him away.
He dreams of Philza, golden haired and furious, hacking open a route down to Missa's cell. He knows it won't happen - if their haven is secretive then Philza's is full isolationist, but he can dream. Of a vengeful angel with a glowing sword, his black-robed wife laughing behind him and…
And Missa knows that Philza has terrible luck with rescue missions, so maybe he'll just wish for the man to carve out vengeance upon their foes.
Neither is going to happen, the darkness is going to take him, but…
… But the darkness isn't so scary, not when he thinks of Spreen's fur, Roier's eyes, and Philza's wings.

Resident Evil Sexuality / Identity Headcanons, part 2
Ingrid Hunnigan
Tumblr media
Lesbian / Female
Hunnigan is a strong headed lesbian that falls under the more masculine side but still identifies as female
Any time Leon tried to flirt with her in the beginning, she wanted to jab in his face but couldn't because he was in a different location
The only reason Leon stopped was because Hunnigan made the small joke after one of his flirts saying, "I pull more girls than you without all the stupid pick up lines"
Jake Muller
Tumblr media
??????
It must be a Wesker thing because Jake confuses me as well
From one point of view I think "There really isn't enough screen time between him and any other character other than Sherry or Chris, who Jake clearly has a rivalry with"
From the other I think "But there's a chance he's queer of some kind"
But I honestly don't know...
Jill Valentine
Tumblr media
Lesbian / Non-binary
You cannot tell me that Mx. Valentine is not a lesbian that doesn't identify as a specific gender
Like, c'mon, LOOK AT THEM
That was theirs and Chris' bonding in S.T.A.R.S. was both of them finding out they were attracted to opposite genders and Jill being non-binary
That's why they're both tight with each other because gays protect each other, it's a code
Karl Heisenberg
Tumblr media
GAY / Male
If you think Heisenberg is straight, you are fucking mental
The part of his greatest plan of getting his revenge on Mother Miranda(r) that he didn't tell Ethan was trying to win his heart and running away with him, CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
The moment Heisenberg saw Ethan, he thought, "I'mma make this bitch mine"
Leon Kennedy
Tumblr media
(I love him and his stupid food-loving ass)
Bisexual / TRANSGENDER (female-to-male)
Leon's bisexuality has a preference, a preference for men, Ada is his only exception otherwise, he'd be gay
He's SO TRANS, it baffles my mind how much transness oozes off of him
Leon's flirting isn't to necessarily gain a female's attraction but more-so just because it boosts his ego just a bit because he knows he's hot
Piers Nivans
Tumblr media
GAY / TRANSGENDER (female-to-male)
Riddle me this, Batman... have you, in your entire life, met ANYONE with the name Piers?
Doubt it, Piers rats out his identity faster than a bullet from his sniper
Also, he's SO in love with Chris, it's so fucking obvious
I said it once and I'll say it again, FRIENDS DON'T LOOK AT FRIENDS THE WAY PIERS LOOKS AT CHRIS
Rebecca Chambers
Tumblr media
Aroace / Non-binary
I never remember Rebecca ever trying to gain anyone's attraction on purpose and actually kind of avoided it
They had love for people, but never romantic, they looked at Chris like he was a big brother and not a potential boyfriend
They didn't even show any attraction to Billy, who was more than nice to them while my dumbass was wishing I was getting saved by Billy every 20 seconds
Also, Rebecca being non-binary just clicks in my brain a certain way that works for me
Rosemary Winters
Tumblr media
Pansexual / Genderfluid
Rose doesn't quite understand why it should matter who you're attracted to and even got into a few arguments about it
Being born from someone that had a virus also fucked up her genes pretty good, they were born female but their puberty process and mental gender never matched
They never blamed their dad for the weirdness of going through puberty but they did find it a bit annoying
Sherry Birkin
Tumblr media
Straight / Transgender (male-to-female)
Sherry started her transition really early and didn't even realize what it was until she was in her 20s
It was also William that helped her be comfortable with herself even as a kid, because Annette sure wasn't about to
Leon made sure that she was okay with herself as well whenever he saw her
Sherry was able to twist her words to be able to get surgeries from the government for free, making excuses that missions would be hard if she didn't have the right kind of body
Sheva Alomar
Tumblr media
Bisexual / Female
Sheva also has a bisexual preference, she prefers women over men
Not to say there's only one guy keeping her bi but she's threatened past boyfriends with it, makes her laugh every time
She definitely had a crush on both Chris and Jill in the beginning but it calmed down when she had to actually work with them (mainly Chris)
Steve Burnside
(I RAN OUT OF FUCKING PICTURES OF USE IN THIS STORY AND HE'S THE LAST CHARACTER FUCK!!!)
Bisexual / Transgender (female-to-male)
I think we can all agree that there was definitely something queer with Steve in all versions of him
Steve doesn't have a specific preference and is kind of a hopeless romantic
The sad thing about Steve that kinda separates him from the other trans characters here is that he never got a full transition before he died 🥲
Did I ads that part to make people feel sad for him again? Yes I did because I genuinely liked his character
