Optimizing Your BirdDog X1, X1 Ultra, or X4 Ultra for Wi-Fi Connectivity
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/optimizing-your-birddog-x1-x1-ultra-or-x4-ultra-for-wi-fi-connectivity/
Optimizing Your BirdDog X1, X1 Ultra, or X4 Ultra for Wi-Fi Connectivity
Setting up your BirdDog cameras (X1, X1 Ultra, or X4 Ultra) for optimal Wi-Fi performance is key to achieving high-quality video and minimizing latency. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the best practices for configuring your BirdDog camera system to ensure seamless wireless connectivity for NDI applications.
The Importance of High-Quality Wi-Fi for BirdDog Cameras
A reliable Wi-Fi connection is essential for the best performance when using BirdDog cameras with NDI (Network Device Interface) technology. A poor network connection can lead to increased latency, disrupted video feeds, and lower overall video quality. Ensuring your Wi-Fi setup is optimized can make a significant difference in the performance of your BirdDog camera system.
How to Plan Your Wi-Fi Network with NetSpot
Using NetSpot, a free Wi-Fi analysis tool available for Windows and Mac, is a great way to plan and optimize your network. NetSpot helps you visualize available Wi-Fi networks and their operating channels, making it easier to identify the least congested channels. This step is crucial for avoiding network interference and ensuring the best possible performance for your BirdDog cameras.
Understanding Wi-Fi Channels and Their Impact on Performance
Wi-Fi operates on two frequency bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. These bands are divided into multiple channels, and selecting the right channel can significantly improve your wireless connection. By avoiding congested channels that are being used by nearby networks, you can minimize interference and ensure a stable, high-performance connection for your BirdDog cameras.
Configuring Your Wi-Fi Router for Optimal Performance
To enhance your Wi-Fi connection, access your router’s web interface and adjust the settings to select the least congested channel. Most modern routers support both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and it’s essential to pick the appropriate channel on each band to avoid network interference. This simple adjustment can help improve your BirdDog camera’s Wi-Fi performance.
Automatic Channel Selection by BirdDog Cameras
Once your Wi-Fi network is properly configured with the optimal channels, your BirdDog cameras will automatically connect to these settings. This allows for improved range, lower latency, and a more stable video feed, ensuring you get the best possible performance from your BirdDog X1, X1 Ultra, or X4 Ultra.
Conclusion: Optimize Your Wi-Fi for BirdDog Camera Performance
By taking the time to plan and configure your Wi-Fi network, you can significantly enhance the performance of your BirdDog cameras. Using tools like NetSpot for network planning, selecting the right channels, and configuring your router settings will ensure you achieve the best possible performance, with minimal latency and maximum video quality.

How to Dlink Router Setup Without Modem?
The problem might occur if you're utilising your router to build a private local network, increase the range of your Wi-Fi, or for some other particular reasons.
Tumblr media
This thorough guide will show you how to configure your "D-Link router without a modem" so that it functions as a potent tool for local networking.
1. Determine Your Router's Capabilities
The first step is to see if this configuration is supported by your D-Link router. Not every router is made to function without a modem. For details on the router's capabilities, check the manual or go to the D-Link website. These routers are frequently referred to as "bridge mode" or "router mode."
2. Hardware Setup
It's time to begin the hardware installation once you've determined that your router is appropriate for this configuration.
Tumblr media
Turn on the router by plugging it into an electrical outlet. Connect your computer to one of the LAN (Local Area Network) ports on the router using an Ethernet connection. The initial configuration requires this connected connection.
3. Access the Router's Web Interface
You must visit the router's web-based setup page in order to configure it. The default IP address of the router should be typed into the address bar of an open web browser on your computer. Common IP addresses for D-Link routers include 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1. For the precise IP address, consult the user guide for your router.
4. Login to the Router
A username and password must be entered in order to access the router's settings. Try entering "admin" for both fields if you haven't modified the default values for these credentials. The login credentials should be changed for security reasons.
5. Internet Configuration
You will have to manually enter your Internet Service Provider (ISP) information into the router because you are configuring the router without a modem.
Tumblr media
To get the relevant information, which normally includes the IP address, subnet mask, and DNS server details, get in touch with your ISP. Put these parameters in the router's configuration.
6. Local Network Settings
Adjust the router's local network settings as needed. You can enable the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to automatically assign IP addresses to devices on your local network. Ensure that your router's DHCP server is activated.
7. Wireless Network Configuration
Set your SSID (Network Name) and password to configure your Wi-Fi network. For wireless device connections to your router, this is essential.
8. Security Measures
Put security measures in place to prevent unauthorised access to your network. Use WPA3 encryption on your Wi-Fi network and set a strong administrator password.
Tumblr media
 9. Testing Your Network
Test your network after configuring the router to make sure everything is working as it should. Check internet connectivity on a variety of devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, and make sure all settings are being used as intended.
Conclusion
For a number of networking requirements, setting up a "D-Link router without a modem" can be a workable alternative. This post has showed you how to set up a private local network, increase your Wi-Fi range, or experiment with various network setups. You may efficiently administer your network without a typical modem using the correct D-Link router and the instructions provided here, giving you flexibility and control over your network environment.

The robin games
chapter 5/7. The Robin Games - Chapter 5 - Fictionfanatic_Wren - Batman - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]
The small, dimly lit maintenance room was packed wall-to-wall with capes, armor, and confusion. Superman hovered just above the ground, arms crossed. Green Arrow was crouched near the half-eaten protein bar like it was a crime scene. Wonder Woman stood by the door, stone-faced. Hal Jordan paced, while Barry looked like someone had kicked his dog. “Alright,” Dinah said, hands on her hips. “Someone needs to explain why it smells like old coffee, protein bars, and deodorant for teenage boys in here.” “Because someone’s been living here,” Ollie grumbled, holding up the half-unwrapped bar with two fingers. “Look at this. Half-eaten. Not even wrapped properly. There’s coffee residue in the cup holder and prints on the terminal.” “That’s definitely not ours,” Barry added, squinting at the cup. “That’s the mug I’ve been looking for since yesterday. Yesterday, people.” “So someone’s been camping out on the Watchtower without us knowing,” Hal said, turning to Bruce with narrowed eyes. “Care to explain how your billion-dollar security system missed a freeloader living in the walls?” Bruce stood silent, face unreadable. “It didn’t miss them,” he said finally, tone low. “It found them just now.” “That’s not an answer,” Hal shot back. “I’m still processing the data,” Bruce replied smoothly, eyes never leaving the half-powered computer console. Clark floated a little closer, scanning the equipment with his x-ray vision. “There’s a whole tech setup hidden behind the panels,” he reported. “Wires, a motion sensor jammer, even a router spoof. This wasn’t slapped together. This was deliberate.” “So the real question,” Ollie muttered, “is which one of us brought a secret intern onboard.” Barry perked up, hopeful. “Maybe it’s a stowaway from Earth? A well-meaning super-fan?” “With access to League systems?” Diana said, one brow arching. “And the ability to bypass our security and, according to you, eat your pizza?” Barry deflated. “...Yeah, okay, probably not a fan.” “Let’s take stock,” Dinah said, ticking off her fingers. “We’ve had: stolen pizza, missing coffee mugs, glitter bombs in the armory, Green Arrow’s door screaming shame at him, and now someone is nesting in our walls. Someone very skilled.” Hal rubbed his temples. “Okay, real talk. If this is about the laser pointer prank from six months ago, I already apologized, Barry.” “That’s what you want me to think,” Barry snapped, arms flailing. “Maybe this is the long con. The real revenge!” “You are not important enough to sabotage with a long con,” Bruce said flatly, stepping past them to inspect the panel Tim had hastily closed. Everyone froze. “Spooky,” Clark said carefully. “That sounded kinda personal.” “Let’s not fight,” Diana said, sighing. “Let’s focus. Whoever’s here is skilled enough to hide, hack, and infiltrate without being caught for days. We need a plan.” “Oh, I’ve got one,” Ollie muttered. “We burn the whole maintenance wing and flush them out.” “Ollie.” “What? It worked with raccoons.” Bruce straightened from the console. “No fire” he said. “But we lock down non-essential areas. Increase patrols. Motion sensors, heat trackers, and set traps in likely routes.” Everyone nodded, except Barry, who just looked mournfully at his empty mug. “…I miss my coffee.”
Tim Drake moved quickly through the narrow metal duct, his body pressed low and knees aching from the awkward angles. He was running on pure adrenaline now, he’d narrowly escaped being discovered in the maintenance room, but not without losses. His spare toolkit, the laptop charger, and Barry’s coffee mug were all left behind. “Fantastic,” Tim muttered under his breath, the distant hum of voices below fading as he crawled deeper into the Watchtower’s belly. “All because someone decided to trigger an alarm right next to me.” He paused at a junction in the vent, twisting to glance at the corridor below through a slatted grate. Then, Thump. The faintest vibration in the metal above him. He stilled. Every instinct screamed caution. Someone else was in the shaft. Tim slowly reached for a small baton from his belt and turned. From the shadows, a low voice spoke: “You’re incredibly loud for someone who’s supposed to be stealthy.” Tim froze. A small figure crouched just ahead, perched in the shadows like a gargoyle. Damian. The youngest Robin looked perfectly at ease, barely winded, his cloak tucked tightly around his small frame, expression full of judgment. Tim narrowed his eyes. “You tripped the alarm, didn’t you.” Damian tilted his head. “Of course I did. This is a competition. Only the competent deserve to win. You were getting too comfortable.” Tim exhaled sharply, crawling closer so they could talk without echoing. “You little gremlin, I had a whole system running. I was fine until your stunt brought the League breathing down my neck.” Damian’s eyes gleamed in the dim light. “You were growing complacent. And it was funny.” Tim pinched the bridge of his nose. “You know if they’d found my stuff-” “Then you would’ve lost. You should thank me for teaching you the importance of vigilance.” Tim stared at him. “You sound exactly like Bruce when he’s being a hypocrite.” “A compliment.” Tim groaned. “You stole Dick’s gear too, didn’t you?” Damian didn’t answer, but his smug silence spoke volumes. Tim muttered something under his breath that was definitely not appropriate for younger ears. The two stared at each other in silence, crouched in opposite corners of the vent. For a moment, there was a grudging, still tension between them. Then Tim sighed. “Fine. Truce. Just for today. I need a new hiding spot.” Damian raised a brow. “I’m not sharing my camp.” “I don’t want it. Just a direction that isn’t crawling with League members and panic.” Damian considered this. Then he jerked his chin to the left. “Upper deck. Storage vents near the armory. Leaguers don’t patrol there much.” Tim paused, then gave a curt nod. “Thanks.” Damian arched a brow. “Try not to get caught. It would be… disappointing.” Tim rolled his eyes and began crawling away. “Right back at you, gremlin.” Damian smirked as he disappeared into the shadows, already thinking of his next move.
Jason pressed himself against the cool metallic wall, breathing shallowly as he listened to the distant sound of boots echoing through the corridor. Way too many boots. He peeked around the corner. Green Arrow. Black Canary. Flash. All moving in different directions, radios buzzing on their hips. “Maintenance room sweep’s clear,” Dinana’s voice crackled over the comms. “Yeah, but somebody left a thermos of my coffee in there,” Barry hissed. Jason ducked back, swearing under his breath. This was bad. The League was in full lockdown mode now, walking around like a bunch of angry substitute teachers trying to catch kids passing notes. All because of one little triggered alarm and a missing mug. Okay. And maybe the trip wire in the gym. And maybe the slightly rigged training bot that randomly screamed insults at ollie for two hours. And, yeah, okay, a few pranks. He crept backward into a dark corridor that led to the utility crawlspaces. His old hiding spot in the storage bay was now way too risky, at least three League members had passed through in the last hour. Jason muttered to himself as he climbed into an access tunnel. “Could’ve just let Tim or Damian take the fall, but nooo. I had to switch Barry’s toothpaste with marshmallow fluff and now the whole tower’s on DEFCON 1.” He crawled deeper until he found a narrow space behind a ventilation conduit, the metal panels warm against his back. He took off his helmet, wiping sweat from his brow, then pulled a granola bar from his pocket and bit into it like it owed him money. Footsteps passed by again above. Jason closed his eyes, forcing his breathing to slow. This was fine. This was manageable. He’d hide here for a bit, wait for the tension to cool, maybe frame Hal later if things got dire. No one suspected that Red Hood himself was in the watchtower. Yet. But the moment his eyes started to droop, a voice blared from a nearby intercom: “Reminder: motion sensors have been temporarily enhanced in this sector due to recent… incidents. Please report any suspicious movement immediately.” Jason sighed, then shoved the rest of the granola bar into his mouth. “I swear to god, if I find out Tim set this up…”
Watchtower, Sector B1, Personnel Quarters Dick Grayson moved like a shadow, a very annoyed, gearless shadow. His crawlspace hiding spot had been compromised hours ago. And without his tools, he was flying blind in a nest full of superheroes and security systems. Damian had swiped everything from his little rooftop nook, even his emergency chocolate bar. The betrayal stung. "Never trust a ten-year-old with murder training," Dick muttered under his breath as he crept through a dim hallway, every motion smooth but fueled by pure desperation. His Nightwing suit, while flexible, was now a beacon without the signal disruptors. The sleek navy blue made him far too recognizable for someone trying to stay unseen. He needed a disguise. Fast. He turned a corner, and stopped. Room B1-04. The door was heavy, black, and marked only by a biometric scanner and a simple nameplate: RESTRICTED, ACCESS LEVEL 10 Most of the League assumed this room was storage or an unused system control station. But Dick had known the truth since his early Robin years. Batman’s quarters. He hesitated for exactly two seconds. Then: “Desperate times…” Dick bypassed the lock with a quick override Bruce had taught him back when trust between them wasn’t a limited resource, and slipped inside. The room was spartan. Clean. Every corner obsessively organized. A minimalistic bed, a locked trunk, and a closet lined with armor and utility gear. But no personal touches. No photos. No journals. Classic Bruce. Dick moved to the closet. His heart thudded in his ears as he flipped through the suits, mostly standard Bat-armor, backup units, and even one older prototype with an awkward yellow emblem. Finally, he found it: a slimmed-down, stealth-variant Batsuit. Jet black, lightweight. More flexible than the others, probably one Bruce wore for espionage operations. Perfect. Dick stripped off his Nightwing gear in record time and pulled the suit on. It clung to him like a second skin. The cowl, smaller than Bruce’s standard, fit well enough once he adjusted the chin plate. He looked into the darkened windowpane and smirked at the reflection: “Well. I guess I’m Batman now.” He paused. Then shook his head. “Nope. Not saying that out loud again.” Just as he secured the last piece of armor, he heard footsteps outside the hallway.
Dick didn’t expect to be stopped. That was the whole point of wearing the suit. But as soon as he turned the corner, he nearly ran straight into Green Arrow, Canary, and Martian Manhunter, all looking like they’d been mid-conversation until the second he appeared. “Batman,” Ollie said with a nod, stepping aside to let him pass. Dick managed a stiff nod back. “Arrow. Canary. J’onn.” He deepened his voice slightly, not a full growl (he wasn’t going to parody Bruce), but just enough to pass. It seemed to work. At least for a second. Until Green Arrow squinted. “You look… thinner than usual.” “I changed my diet.” Dinah tilted her head. “And you’re walking weird.” “My leg was injured in Gotham. Minor strain. Nothing worth filing.” Martian Manhunter stared. Hard. His glowing eyes narrowed like he was scanning something just off. Dick’s internal panic flared, was the suit giving him away? Heat signature? His height? He subtly adjusted his posture and folded his arms across his chest, classic Bruce. “If there’s nothing else, I need to return to my work.” Canary blinked. “We were going to brief you on the Star City gang forming. You skipped the last two meetings.” “I was busy,” Dick said, already turning to walk past them. “And I read the reports. Proceed without me.” He held his breath as he walked away, back rigid, cape swishing just enough to look dramatic. The moment he turned the next corner and was out of sight, he bolted into the next maintenance shaft like his life depended on it. Inside the vent, he slumped against the wall, yanked off the cowl, and exhaled. “Never again,” he muttered. “I need a double the cookies when i win. And therapy.”

I need to put you onto some really good software I found recently. I've been using my tablet to stream PC games (I'll show how I modified a phone controller to fit it later) and it's absolutely incredible. I use Apollo (self hosted stream host) and Artemis (android client). It works better than the steam deck specifically for streaming, and I was able to configure it to stream over the internet so I can still play outside the house. If you want a steam deck but don't want to take it out of your house, this may be a significantly better option for you. Since they're free and open source there's no downside to giving it a shot:)
Some details under the read more
These are forks of sunshine and moonlight that support virtual displays and arbitrary resolutions and refresh rates, so it'll match whatever device you use without any additional setup. That was my biggest issue with moonlight, I ended up spending like 10ish hours reprogramming the edid on a dummy displayport plug and troubleshooting HDR to get it to work and match client devices. (you shouldn't use HDR anyways until android devices get their shit together wrt HDR support and calibration, but it does work and could be worth it in some specific use cases (I wish I knew that before sinking that much time into making it work 😅)). This has worked well enough that I just leave my PC on and bring my tablet + a mouse and keyboard anywhere I need a PC instead of my laptop. Streaming to my tablet gives me incredibly good battery life + my desktop PCs full performance, with none of the downsides of a gaming laptop, and I can scale down the quality or refresh rate of the stream to get it to work on most internet connections. You'll probably want the host wired to your router with ethernet for the most consistent performance though.

The shisha bar is wrapped in a sultry haze of smoke, its dim lanterns casting warm, flickering light across deep crimson walls. The air is thick with the mingling scents of fruit-flavoured shisha and spilt whiskey.
Ayame leans back on a plush velvet couch, her black mini skirt riding slightly higher as she crosses her legs, the sharp edge of her thigh-high boots glinting in the soft light. She exhales a slow plume of smoke, the tendrils curling lazily toward the ceiling.
Minho sprawls next to her, one arm thrown across the back of the couch like he owns the place. His shirt is unbuttoned enough to expose a tempting sliver of his chest, the faint sheen of his skin catching the light.
Across from them, Hyunjin lounges like a cat, his long legs stretched out, shisha pipe in hand, while Seungmin sits upright, as composed as ever, nursing a glass of neat whiskey. The four of them radiate a sort of chaotic elegance that turns heads even in this crowded room.
Minho takes a slow pull from his shisha, blowing out a perfect ring of smoke before turning to Ayame. "You know," he begins, his tone casual but laced with sincerity, "your idea was solid. Booze and painting? That's like therapy but fun. Team building and getting pissed? Perfect combo."
Ayame snorts, resting her elbow on the armrest and swirling her drink. "But no. Guns and ammo. Because that's what these assholes think is a good idea for fostering workplace camaraderie."
Hyunjin leans forward, his chin resting in his palm as he gestures toward her with his glass. "You deserved to win that one. You put in the work."
"Doesn't matter," Ayame replies, sighing as she sets her drink down and takes another drag from the shisha. The cherry-flavored smoke slides easily from her lips. "Haechul and Chan don't play fair. They play to win."
Seungmin tilts his glass, the amber liquid catching the light. "It's not over yet. The board's decision isn't final until New Year's, and it's an independent board. They're not going to let bribery slide."
Ayame barks out a short, humourless laugh, shaking her head. "You really think Haechul gives a fuck? The man literally pitched paintball as a way to resolve workplace conflict. Guns, Seungmin. Fucking guns."
Seungmin sighs, leaning back in his seat. "Alright, fair. He's insane. But Chan's not Haechul. You've got a shot."
"Chan's not Haechul," Ayame mutters under her breath, swirling the shisha hose in her hand. "No, Chan's just a fucking enigma wrapped in a condescending suit."
Hyunjin raises his glass, interrupting her spiral. "I propose a new plan: we all get drunk and forget these Miroh bastards exist. Aya, you especially need to forget about Bang Chan's annoyingly symmetrical face and his perfectly sculpted ass."
Ayame points the shisha hose at him like a weapon. "I don't think about his ass."
"You should," Hyunjin replies with a teasing smirk. "It's art."
Minho snickers, taking a long sip of his drink before chiming in. "Art or not, I'd like to stop thinking about shoving my cock down Jisung's throat every time he opens his mouth about font pairings."
Seungmin, who's mid-sip, nearly chokes. "For fuck's sake, Minho."
"What?!" Minho exclaims, grinning shamelessly. "It's a valid fantasy."
Seungmin sets his glass down, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You people are deranged. Meanwhile, I just want to forget how Jeongin's innocent little smile made me think about inviting him over to 'fix my Wi-Fi.'"
Ayame perks up at that, her grin wicked. "Oh, Oppa, don't be shy. You're living a bad porn setup. Let me guess: 'Thanks for fixing my router, now let me show you how to turn me on.'" She even winks for good measure.
Seungmin groans, hiding his face behind his glass. "Fuck off, Ayame."
"Come on," Hyunjin adds, laughing. "You want the Miroh IT guy to take his shirt off and crawl under your desk, don't you?"
Seungmin glares at him over the rim of his glass. "You're all terrible people."
"Terrible, but honest," Minho says, raising his glass. "And that's what makes us the best. To getting fucked up and forgetting about these corporate dickheads! Cheers!"
"Cheers!" they all echo, clinking their glasses together with varying levels of enthusiasm.

Ayame wakes to the unrelenting stab of sunlight slicing through her blinds, a dull pounding in her skull that feels like her brain is trying to escape.
She groans, rolling over to bury her face in her pillow, only to come face-to-face with a very naked, very unfamiliar man lying beside her. He's propped up on one elbow, his tousled dark hair sticking up in endearing chaos, and a smug, dimpled smile tugging at his lips. His deep brown eyes glint with amusement.
"Morning," he says, his voice husky from sleep. "I'm Chris. We had sex last night."
Ayame's eyes snap wide open, her hangover forgotten in the face of pure, undiluted panic. "Your name is what?!"
Chris chuckles softly, clearly entertained by her reaction. "Chris," he repeats, enunciating like she might be slow. "You brought me here. We had sex. Several times, if I remember correctly."
"Oh, fuck me," Ayame whispers, clutching the sheet to her chest and scooting back like he might explode at any second.
Chris grins, sitting up and stretching lazily, completely unbothered by his nakedness. "Pretty sure we covered that already, sweetheart."
Before Ayame can even figure out how to respond, the door to her room flies open with the force of a small hurricane, and in strides Minho, looking both supremely unimpressed and mildly murderous. He's dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie, his hair sticking up as if he didn't even glance in a mirror before barging in.
"I let myself in," Minho announces dramatically, then freezes mid-step as his eyes land on Chris. His gaze slides from Chris's messy hair to his bare chest and downward. "What. The. Actual. Fuck."
Chris starts to speak, but Minho cuts him off with a raised hand, his voice sharp enough to cut glass. "Nope. Not a word. Out of my little Aya's bed. Right. Fucking. Now."
Chris blinks, clearly caught off guard. "Uh, okay, but-"
"OUT!" Minho yells, pointing toward the door like an angry parent. "Defiling my maknae and thinking you can hang around for coffee? Do I look like I serve breakfast to dickwads who've been balls-deep in my baby Aya? No, sir. Get your naked ass up and out!"
Chris fumbles for his clothes, pulling on his pants while muttering, "Alright, alright, I'm going."
Minho's sharp eyes track his every move. But as Chris bends over to grab his shirt, Minho tilts his head, his expression softening just slightly. "Hmm," he hums thoughtfully, "nice ass. Decent dick, too."
Chris freezes mid-motion, glancing back over his shoulder, looking equal parts flustered and amused. "Uh... thanks?"
"Don't thank me," Minho snaps, his sharp tone returning as he waves toward the door. "Just leave."
Chris pulls his shirt on, his movements hurried as he backs toward the door. "Nice to meet you, Ayame," he says, flashing her a sheepish smile.
Minho scoffs, stepping between Chris and Ayame like a human shield. "Nice to meet her? Your tip already met her fucking cervix last night. Out."
Chris raises his hands in surrender, quickly slipping out the door. The sound of it clicking shut is like a gunshot in the now-silent room.
Minho spins around to face Ayame, his hands on his hips, his expression unreadable for a moment before it breaks into a wicked grin. "He looked like Chan."
"No." Ayame sits up, clutching the sheet tighter around her chest as her heart pounds. "No, no, no, no, no."
"Oh, yes." Minho's grin widens, his eyes gleaming with glee. "Don't worry. I fuck men who look like Jisung. It's called coping, honey."
Ayame stares at him, horror spreading across her face. "His name was Chris."
Minho's smirk falters for half a second before he bursts into laughter, doubling over and clutching his stomach. "Chris? Like Bang Christopher Chan?" He straightens, his laughter uncontrollable. "You hooked up with a guy who looks like Chan and has the same English name? Oh my god, Ayame!"
Ayame groans, flopping back onto the bed and throwing an arm over her face. "Why am I like this?"
Minho perches on the edge of the bed, tossing a clean t-shirt and panties at her. "Here. Get dressed, pabo. I'm making breakfast. My cooking fixes everything, hangovers, bad decisions, existential crises, you name it."
Ayame catches the clothes with a sigh, glaring at him half-heartedly. "Will it fix you being the literal worst?"
"Nope," Minho says cheerfully, standing and heading toward the door. "But it'll keep you alive long enough for me to keep bullying your dumb ass. Gold, Aya. Absolute fucking gold."
She hears him laughing to himself as he disappears into the kitchen.
Ayame groans again, dragging herself out of bed. "God, give me strength," she mutters, pulling the t-shirt over her head. The faint scent of Chris's cologne lingers in the sheets, and she freezes for a second before shaking her head violently.
"Not today, Satan. Not fucking today."
Ayame stumbles into the kitchen, oversized sunglasses perched precariously on her face, shielding her bloodshot eyes from the cruel, too-bright sunlight streaming through the windows.
Minho stands at the stove, his back to her, moving with the maddening grace of someone who clearly slept well and made good decisions. He hums cheerfully as he flips bacon in the pan, the sizzle of grease like an auditory assault to Ayame's pounding head. The smell of bacon, eggs, and whatever the fuck Minho thinks will cure her is making her stomach twist in protest.
Ayame groans loudly, dragging herself to the counter and slumping against it. "Minho. Kill me."
Minho glances over his shoulder, smirking like the absolute shithead he is. "Oh, no, no, no, honey. Maknae. My darling trainwreck of a child. This is what life lessons taste like." He gestures to the sizzling bacon with his spatula. "Delicious, greasy, artery-clogging lessons."
Ayame groans louder, clutching her head. "Not now, Oppa."
Minho spins dramatically, brandishing the spatula like a weapon. "No, listen to me. I've been exactly where you are. Once, I hooked up with a guy because he had Jisung's jawline. It's fine! It's healthy! Stops us from doing irreparable damage to our lives by sleeping with the actual enemy."
Ayame drags herself to the table, collapsing into a chair and burying her face in her folded arms. "The elevator kiss was too much."
Minho freezes mid-step, his eyes gleaming with unholy curiosity. "Oh, we're talking about the elevator now? Spill. Everything. Details. Were there hands in your hair?"
Ayame mumbles something incoherent into her arms.
Minho leans closer. "What was that, Maknae? You're going to have to speak up."
Ayame lifts her head just enough to glare at him from behind her sunglasses. "He pinned me against the wall."
Minho gasps, dropping into the chair across from her like he's just been handed a scandalous piece of gossip. "Stop. Stop right now."
"And," Ayame continues, "he lifted me up by my thighs."
Minho slaps the table with both hands, his grin so wide it's bordering on unhinged. "Fucking hell, Ayame, that's hotter than it has any right to be. What the fuck."
Ayame groans, her head hitting the table with a thud. "I hate my life."
"But wait," Minho says, holding up a finger, "how good was it?"
Ayame groans again, muffled by the table, before muttering, "Too good."
Minho clutches his chest, throwing his head back in faux agony. "No! The enemy isn't supposed to be good at kissing! That's against the rules. It's unethical."
"I know," Ayame mumbles, her voice muffled by her arms. "He's unethical."
Minho narrows his eyes, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "You could just make Discount Chan your regular. Avoid the main brand entirely. You know, stick with knockoffs. Like generic cereal, same taste, half the price."
Ayame sits up just enough to glare at him. "You're the worst."
Minho points his spatula at her triumphantly. "And yet here I am, feeding you, absolving you of your sins, and making your dumb ass laugh. You're welcome."
She groans, pushing her plate away. "I hate you."
"No, you hate yourself," Minho counters, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms. "And that's why Oppa is here. To remind you that it's okay to be a fucking disaster sometimes."
Ayame glances at him from behind her sunglasses, her lips twitching. "Does this disaster come with more bacon?"
Minho grins, snatching a strip from his plate and tossing it onto hers. "Always, Maknae. Always."
As Ayame picks up her fork, Minho leans back, watching her with a satisfied smirk. "Now eat up. You're gonna need your strength for the day ahead."
"Why?" Ayame asks, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
Minho's grin turns wolfish. "Because Chan is going to walk into the office, and all you're going to be able to think about is his hands on your thighs."
Ayame groans again, her head thudding against the table. Minho cackles loudly, his laughter echoing through the kitchen, filling it with chaos, affection, and the unmistakable energy of two best friends thriving in the messiest moments of life.

So Warframe added a "Pom-2" Alternate 1999 computer (that's needed for weird void magic future science wizardry). Thoughts?

Only thing I have that's a sort of question mark is that I don't know of many setups that would have needed a 5 1/4" floppy in 99 (or why it has both the tower and the under monitor unit)
ugh. OKAY, so... the tower and desktop combination is just weird. I have, on one occasion, run a "server" that was two towers, and the original PC supported a DUAL-DESKTOP mode, but both types together? nonsense.
dual monitor was rare but possible in 1999 (win98 added native support), so I think the best interpretation here is that this is actually two computers. maybe the one on the left is missing the keyboard and mouse because it's being used as some kind of server for the other computer? I used a little case like that to run my first linux server, which was also acting as a router for my internal network.
The OS is weird. The icons above the menu-bar look like win98, the dialog box is windows 3.x, the menu-bar icons on the bottom are pure os X (although they remind me of like a web-TV kinda system, like hotkeys for email/internet/etc), but the greyscale is very classic mac system. Actually it kinda reminds me of C64's GEOS, but GEOS was very classic-mac.

Like most CRT-filters, they turned the scanlines up WAY TOO HIGH. No CRT I've ever seen looked that fucking terrible. The monitor buttons are a bit odd: You didn't get monitors with buttons on the front until long after they were all color... but maybe it's a color monitor that's showing a monochrome OS?
as for the floppies: yeah. There are multiple mistakes here.
5.25" in 1999 is just silly. If you still had 5.25" disk drives in 1999, you were intentionally doing some retrocomputing stuff. For reference, around 2001 my PC repair job would specifically ask me to copy data off 5.25" disks, because they didn't have any 5.25" drives anymore, and I was their only tech who did.
The other mistake is that they have THREE floppy drives. so the PC doesn't really support that, natively? You can do some tricks and make it work (The youtuber Tech Tangents did a video on how it could be done), but realistically two was the normal max.
The final mistake is that all the drive activity lights are on. Those are only supposed to be on while the drive is reading or writing... and I don't see any disks in those drives! Let alone a situation that would involve turning all three on at once (I don't think that's even possible on most floppy controllers!)
In fact, the main time you'd end up with the drive lights stuck on like that is when you've installed the drive cable upside down. That ends up with them getting stuck on and non-functional. So this computer looks, to me, like it was put together incorrectly and no one noticed.
I don't believe that font would be on a black & white retro computer. Nope. Too smooth and too big.
There's also a USB icon on that OS: I don't think there's ever been a monochrome OS that supported OS, and looking at that computer case I don't believe that it has USB. Maybe the tower would, but the desktop? no.
That keyboard is off a Gateway 2000 computer. Something like this:
