How Foreigners Can Set Up and Use UPI Accounts?
In recent years, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has revolutionized the way payments are made in India. Its seamless, instant, and secure transactions have made it a favorite among residents. But what about foreigners or Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who wish to take advantage of this convenient payment system? The good news is that setting up and using a UPI account is easier than you might think. In this guide, we'll take you through the step-by-step process to help you get started with UPI.
Tumblr media
Step 1: Choose a UPI App
The first step in utilizing CheqUPI for seamless transactions is selecting a UPI-enabled mobile app. There are several popular options available, including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm,  and BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money). Download your preferred app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 2: Installation and Account Setup
After downloading the CheqUPI app, follow these steps to set up your UPI account:
Open the App: Launch the CheqUPI app on your smartphone.
Select Language: Choose your preferred language for the app's interface.
Verify Your Mobile Number: Enter your mobile number, and the app will send an OTP (One-Time Password) for verification.
Create a PIN: Set a secure UPI PIN. This PIN will serve as your key for all future transactions.
Select Bank: Link your non-resident bank account to the CheqUPI app. Most major Indian banks support UPI, allowing you to select your bank from the provided list.
Step 3: Adding a Bank Account
Once the initial setup is complete, proceed to add your foreign bank account to the CheqUPI app:
Go to Bank Accounts Section: Navigate to the "Bank Accounts" or "Add/Link Bank Account" section within the app.
Select Your Bank: Choose your foreign bank from the list of available options. If your bank is not listed, utilize the search feature.
Enter Account Details: Input your foreign bank account number, IFSC code (Indian Financial System Code), and other required information.
Verify Bank Account: The CheqUPI app will initiate a verification process, often involving a small amount sent to your foreign bank account for confirmation. Follow the app's instructions to complete this step.
Step 4: Set Up CheqUPI ID
Once your foreign bank account is successfully linked, proceed to set up your unique CheqUPI ID:
Navigate to the CheqUPI ID Section: Locate the option to create or manage your CheqUPI ID within the app.
Choose a CheqUPI ID: Select a distinctive CheqUPI ID, such as your name followed by "@chequpi" or any other preferred format.
Verify CheqUPI ID: The app will verify the availability of your chosen CheqUPI ID. If it's available, proceed to save it for use.
Step 5: Making Transactions
With your CheqUPI account fully set up, you're now ready to conduct transactions effortlessly. Here's a simple guide to sending and receiving money using CheqUPI:
To Send Money:
Open the CheqUPI app and log in.
Select the "Send Money" or "Transfer" option.
Enter the recipient's CheqUPI ID, mobile number, or bank account details.
Input the desired amount and include a remark if necessary.
Confirm the transaction by entering your CheqUPI PIN.
To Receive Money:
Share your CheqUPI ID with the sender.
The sender can then use your CheqUPI ID to initiate the payment.
You'll receive a notification regarding the incoming transaction.
Enter your CheqUPI PIN to accept the payment securely.
With these simple steps, foreigners and NRIs can easily set up and use UPI accounts for seamless transactions in India. Whether you're sending money to family members, paying bills, or shopping online, UPI offers a convenient and secure payment solution at your fingertips. Embrace the digital revolution of UPI and enjoy hassle-free banking experiences from anywhere in the world!
Step 6: Security Tips
While utilizing CheqUPI, it is paramount to prioritize security. Here are essential tips to safeguard your transactions:
Protect Your PIN and OTP: Never share your CheqUPI PIN or OTP with anyone.
Create a Strong PIN: Use a robust and unique CheqUPI PIN for added security.
Verify Transaction Details: Before confirming any transaction, carefully review the details provided.
Monitor Transaction History: Regularly check your transaction history to identify any unauthorized activities.
Keep Your App Updated: Ensure your CheqUPI app and mobile device are regularly updated with the latest security patches.
Conclusion:
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) opens doors to a world of convenient and secure digital transactions for foreigners and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in India. By following the step-by-step guide outlined above, setting up and using a UPI account becomes a straightforward process.
With UPI, users can send and receive money instantly, pay bills, shop online, and more, all with just a few taps on their smartphones. “The next sequence features Ray Nitschke of the Green Bay Packers professional football team. Peter is confronted in the trenches by ‘something’ that fills him full of fright. At first, you don’t know what it is — but you know by looking at Peter’s face that it must be the horror to end all horrors! As it turns out, the ‘horror’ is great big Ray — who flattens Peter with a running tackle! When director Robert Rafaelson yells ‘Cut!’ to this scene, Peter hops up and gives Ray a great big kiss! It’s so incongruous that it’s funny, and you secretly hope that this bit of ‘business’ will be kept in the film.” - 16 Magazine, June 1968
“[M]y personal belief is that Bob [Rafelson] is an evil-minded man. He likes to bring people down. Bob was often unsupportive as a human being and distinctly negative — and I was on the short end of that. There’s one example [in the film] — where Ray Nitschke, the football player, keeps hitting me. He was a Hall of Famer for the Green Bay Packers. He’s doing his best to hit me but not to give it all he’s got because if he does, I’m a squashed bug. So this guy’s one of the toughest men in football, he’s coming at me and I’m scared [but] figure it’s good to be scared because that’s what an actor should do. But Bob goes: ‘Ha, ha! Look at Peter! He’s scared! Ha, ha!’ I was just about the kick him in the balls. It was like, For fuck’s sake, Rafelson! You’re making fun of me ‘cos I’m scared? How do you think that’s going to affect the quality of your movie, pal? I was so angry! That’s the style in which he damaged what could have been a fulfilling quality experience.” - Peter Tork, MOJO, June 2002

Sept. 3 (UPI) -- An 11-year-old boy is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two family members inside a home in Minden, La., early Sunday morning.
He is being held with a $500,000 bond set, Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said during a 2 p.m. CDT news conference Tuesday.
"We're leaning towards only one shooter," McIver told reporters. "That's not a conclusion" but "we're not seeing evidence there's another shooter."
The unidentified boy, 11, is a family member of the two deceased shooting victims, who are Joe Cornelius, 82, and his daughter, Keisha Miles, 31.
McIver declined to say how the boy is related to the two victims and said the local prosecutor has not determined if the boy will be charged as a juvenile or an adult.
Police received an emergency call reporting gun shots at a home on the 111 Austin St. at 6:30 a.m. Sunday and found Joe Cornelius and Miles dead after each had been shot multiple times.
The officers also found the boy, whose age initially was reported as 10, and two hidden firearms, McIver said.
McIver said investigators believe both firearms were used in the shootings but are awaiting forensics to confirm they were the only ones.
A guardian was present when investigators questioned the boy, who initially "gave a story that didn't add up" but eventually admitted to the shooting and how he obtained the firearms, McIver told media.
He declined to say how the boy obtained the firearms when asked by a reporter.
"If a person wants to do harm to someone, they are going to do that," McIver said. "It doesn't matter what weapon was used."
He said the next step in the investigation is to get all evidence to ensure there was no other weapon used and wait for autopsies on the victims.
A neighbor on Sunday told a reporter for KSLA News he heard about eight gunshots fired inside the home.
The neighbor said he is Cornelius' cousin and heard the boy and man arguing shortly before hearing the shots.
McIver said a family member placed the 911 call Sunday morning and the boy allegedly used two firearms to shoot and kill Cornelius and Miles, McIver said.
McIver also said investigators don't know the motive and hope to learn soon, adding that talk of the boy using a credit card for video games leading to the argument and shootings is a "rumor."
Cornelius was a "great-natured man" who worked with the city marshals and frequently made friendly visits the police station," McIver said, adding that the "shock factor" of the double homicide has affected much of the local community.
"It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Joe Cornelius Sr., a former longtime Minden City councilman and former appointed mayor of Minden," the town's Mayor Nick Cox said Sunday in a prepared statement.
"Joe Cornelius' years of service to Minden were marked by his commitment and dedication to the betterment of our community. On a personal note, I am grateful for his friendship and the many ways he supported me and others in our city," Cox said.
He asked local residents to "keep Joe's family in our thoughts and prayers."
Minden is located about 30 miles east of Shreveport, La.

2022 fic wrap-up
I only wrote 3 fics this year, one for each of the last three months of the year, which I’m still very pleased about considering how busy I’ve been. One for Halloween, one for the ‘to be found’ anniversary, and a Christmas one. I’m looking forward to writing more next year now that I’ve settled into my new life more!
Thanks for all the love this year 🙏❤️
Bitumen  (3,987 words) M, vampire!buck, blood drinking, first kiss
“So what are you saying, Buck?” He asks, voice quiet. He doesn’t want to jump to conclusions, wants to make sure he really understands what Buck is trying to tell him. “You’re saying you refuse to drink my blood because I— What? I’ll taste too damn good? And you think it’ll ruin others’ blood for you, somehow? Because we’re—” Eddie swallows, heart fluttering. “Because we’re best friends?” Buck licks his chapped lips. “I know it will,” he rasps. “You think,” Eddie reasons. “You don’t know. You don’t know for sure if this would even be a problem.” Buck doesn’t falter. He doesn’t even blink, his eyes somber. “I know,” he says simply. “How?” Eddie challenges. “You haven’t actually tasted me yet.” A muscle in Buck’s jaw twitches. “I have.” “What?” Eddie frowns. “When?” But as soon as the question is out of his mouth, cold realization sets in. And he can still see it clear as day — Buck standing in the street just a few feet in front of him, red blood splattering all over him. In his face. In his mouth. Something dark twists inside Eddie’s gut. “Oh,” he says.
to belong  (9,614 words) E, werewolf!buddie, established relationship, first time
“Where to?” Eddie asks once they’re in the truck.   And Buck thinks about the mountains. Thinks about stretching out on all fours, digging his claws into the earth beneath him and run. Thinks about the feel of the cool night air against his face, in his fur, as a million scents fill his nose. But that’s not what we wants right now. “Home,” he says, the word not yet familiar on his tongue. Eddie holds his gaze, something warm spilling into the brown of his eyes. “Home,” he echoes.
Christmas Lights  (1,249 words) T, canon, established relationship, cuddles
“What?” Eddie asks, smiling as he cups Buck’s cheek. Buck licks his lips. “You said— You said our. Our bed. Our couch.” The butterflies inside Eddie’s belly swirl. “Well,” he says, a little unsure. “Isn’t it?” Buck’s eyes are soft, glistening in the dark. “It is,” he whispers, as if scared to voice it outloud. “I mean— I want it to be. I just still can’t believe it sometimes. And it’s still so… new.” It is new. So new that Eddie still wakes up some days thinking the two of them getting together must have been a dream. “I know,” Eddie says softly, heart fluttering. “But it’s— This is it, Buck. This is it for me. For Christopher. You’re it for us. So. Yeah. Whatever you want to be ours, as a couple, as a family— I’m already there, Buck. Have been for a long time.”

FEATURE: BOTBehold: Today’s musicians once on the UPIS stage
Every year, the Battle of the Bands (BOTB) closes out the UPIS fair. These featured artists, who have been on our BOTB stage once, twice, or even multiple times before, share their learnings and experiences from joining the event, and how those have carried over to their music life after UPIS.
Ahlee Dela Cruz
Tumblr media
Ahlee Dela Cruz is a UPIS Batch 2023 alumna. She is currently the main vocalist of Silver Screen Stardust, a Midwest emo and shoegaze band formed in late 2023. She also releases tracks on SoundCloud as she makes up one half of the 2021-founded duo cover band Gi & Ally. There, she is alongside Gio Capili, a fellow UPIS Batch 2023 alumnus. Additionally, she is part of Miriam College’s singing organization, CCATT Singers.
In her six years in UPIS, she was able to join four bands as a vocalist—three of whom partook in BOTB. There was Raketship, BOTB 2020’s champion, maisSobra, a guest band in the virtual BOTB 2022, and My Knee, Lad!, a competing band in BOTB 2023. Her fourth band, Mac & Cheese, performed in MCLive 2023.
Tumblr media
“Partaking in BOTB 2020 with Raketship actually started out as a whim for me,” Ahlee said. She and some friends had initial plans to form a band in eighth grade, although eventually, those plans fell through. In ninth grade, Gio proposed that Ahlee join their band, Raketship, during one of their jamming sessions. While Ahlee had never been in a band before, she knew that she liked making music with others, regardless of whether or not they were her friends, and so she agreed to join. “[It] started out as a way for me to bond with some friends over a mutual interest and merely evolved into a personal social experiment,” she told us. Then as more time progressed, performing became an outlet—a form of expression that Ahlee could practice and therefore knew she could be genuinely happy about.
When Raketship was practicing for BOTB, Ahlee said that their practices weren’t really serious since the band had no aspirations of winning. They would simply spend hours jamming, not really practicing what they were going to perform; Ahlee was happy with that, because the band liked what they were doing. “Many of my most treasured memories were made because of BOTB—from the weep-and-vent-filled practice sessions, to the chatty sun-soaked trips to kiosks and the studio. Though our rehearsals were never strict and critical, it was evident that we all worked hard to do our part and to sound good—that was how much we loved making the music we did. Winning BOTB may not have made us burst into tears or hark back to sleepless nights of practicing, but it was rewarding all the same knowing that all that time we’d put in together as a band had come into fruition—come into something beyond what we could’ve imagined,” she shared.
Tumblr media
Joining BOTB taught Ahlee a lot of things. She said, “nothing has had so great an effect on the way I sing now as BOTB.” Prior to it, she shared, she never aspired to much in terms of singing outside of being in tune. She said that if it weren’t for the vocally challenging songs her bandmates wanted to perform, she wouldn’t have pushed herself to practice belting and reaching higher notes. She wouldn’t have improved her timing in singing, developed her own singing style, practiced rhythm guitar more, or learned (“out of necessity,” she remarked,) how to harmonize to stand out in a band with multiple vocalists (as was the case with My Knee, Lad!).
One thing that has stayed with Ahlee from her BOTB experience is the knowledge that everyone has a role. She admitted that she sometimes struggles to remember that—after all, singing is something more or less everyone can do, according to her; it wasn’t very difficult to think of herself as the most easily dispensable member. But she reminds us that no matter how easy, difficult, essential, or nonessential you find yourself to be, a group setting compels you to do your job well, especially in the case of a band where mistakes tend to be much more noticeable.
Being in BOTB also showed Ahlee the importance of adjusting and making the most out of one’s position. In her experience, “bands have always comprised sundry sorts of people . . . passionate, lazy, proficient, not particularly proficient but diligent, conceited, shrinking, bossy, devoid of shame and initiative, et cetera—so you’re bound to run into differences of opinion.” In such cases, Ahlee said that really listening to everyone’s thoughts, no matter how ridiculous and reeking of diva behavior some may be, and knowing where she really stood considerably helped. “Whether or not you get the song, solo, or part you like, do the best with what you’re given—doing so and proving yourself to your bandmates over time will naturally allow them to trust you and give you what you want.”
Tumblr media
“For everyone who is in a band, you really need to like what you’re doing,” Ahlee said. “This applies to literally everything you do—from being satisfied about your personal contribution so you don’t feel like a burden, to appreciating the skills and best traits of the musicians around you so that you can be inspired.” (“Or feel more pressured,” she jokingly added.) According to Ahlee, the latter in particular allows you to set goals for yourself and makes it easier to want to improve.
She also advises to try to love the music. “Trying to fall in love with the part you’re given . . . in the process of practicing, as well as everyone’s collective sound will take you far,” she shared.
Lastly, Ahlee suggests trying not to make BOTB about “winning” in the sense that everything hinges on placing. Instead, Ahlee said, “Make it about winning in that you’re happy with the output and the people you’re playing with—winning in that you feel what you do is appreciated regardless of any concrete markers as would be gotten from placing.”
You can find Ahlee’s band, Silver Screen Stardust, on Facebook and her duo cover band, Gi & Ally, on SoundCloud.
Justin Polendey
Tumblr media
Justin Polendey is a Batch 2021 alumnus. He has “retired” from playing music, but he has, in the past, played drums for Waki & The Winstons (formerly Cutting Corners), Elkan, and Aldrich Agad. (“Please support these artists!” he remarked.) During his time with Waki & The Winstons, he got to record two songs (“Make-Believe” and “Don’t You Dare”) that have been released on all streaming platforms. Justin also still plays drums at his local church.
He competed in BOTB 2018 and 2019 with his band, Prizmo, and performed with them in BOTB 2020 and 2023 as a guest band. He was also part of Elks, another guest band who performed in BOTB 2020 and 2023.
Tumblr media
Prizmo formed when Keanne Nuevas gathered Justin, along with his other bandmates, to form the band. Justin recalled that it was so that their batch would have a representative in BOTB after going through two years of high school without one. Their formation started Justin’s “pretty interesting experience” with BOTB.
He described it as such because it was his first time being part of a band, and because he also wasn’t really friends with several of his bandmates when they started. He even added that that could have been the very first time he interacted with one of them.
“I think a lot of high school bands are formed by people who are [already friends] so may previous relationship na sila before they started working together in the context of a band,” Justin said. Since Prizmo didn’t have the privilege of being friends prior to their formation, coupled with egos and personalities clashing and, Justin added, “your typical high school drama”, it led to some tension and a sense of awkwardness within the band.
“All things considered though,” Justin said, “I really enjoyed my BOTB experience. Especially the times when I got to perform in front of the UPIS crowd.”
Tumblr media
When asked about how BOTB influenced his musicianship, Justin answered, “Everyone has to start somewhere.” He admitted that whenever he remembers their performances in BOTB, some part of him cringes because his playing was messy back then. (He joked that even now, it still is, though only to a lesser extent.) But as Justin looked back on those memories, he shared, “I think my experience [in] BOTB is what taught me to be critical of my own playing.”
After graduating, as he did his rounds doing music outside of school, the thing that stayed with him from his BOTB experience was having the awareness that he still has a long way to go, while also still celebrating how far he has come.
Tumblr media
For the students in UPIS who do music, Justin said, “I don’t think you can ever be fully satisfied with your playing, but you don’t have to play perfectly to enjoy playing music. Be critical of yourself, but don’t be too hard on yourself.” And then he ended with a joke, saying, “Unless ‘di ka nagpa-practice to a metronome, in which case you should totally be hard on yourself.”
You can find the two songs Justin recorded drums for (“Make-Believe” and “Don’t You Dare”) on Spotify and all other streaming platforms.
Aldrich Agad
Tumblr media
Aldrich Agad is a UPIS Batch 2021 alumnus. Recently, he has been focusing on writing songs and planning for his feature releases, but also he is actively performing in various gigs in UP Los Baños along with his fellow musicians. Additionally, he is part of a musical organization called "UP Silakbo”, which was in charge of writing songs for the UPLB Feb Fair 2023 and 2024. They got to perform those songs on stage.
Aldrich’s first appearance in BOTB was in 2018, when he was in ninth grade. He was alongside his track and field teammates then, explaining their band name, “TRACK AND FIELD 2.0”. The following year, they joined BOTB once again, with slightly different members and a new name (“The Wednesdays”). In both bands, Aldrich played rhythm guitar and was one of the main vocalists.
TRACK AND FIELD 2.0 started out when one day after their training, they talked about the upcoming UPIS Days and how their older teammates in track and field joined BOTB before. Since Aldrich was very interested in music and had enough knowledge of guitar to be able to play simple chords, he threw them the idea of joining the incoming BOTB. At first, his teammates thought he was joking since none of them really knew how to play an instrument, “but after some pleading and persuading,” Aldrich shared, “they eventually gave in and decided to form a band with me.”
But around that time, the ongoing UAAP season was near, which meant they were amidst gruesome training. Since UAAP would take place just a week before BOTB, it meant that they would perform immediately after their season. They were all beginners and didn’t have any time to practice, so their band decided to only perform two cover songs and not perform any original song. This withdrew their hope of winning the competition. Yet to this, Aldrich said, “We only wanted to perform for fun and for the experience!” He recalls even bringing a guitar in their hotel during their UAAP to practice some songs in their free time.
The next year, as “The Wednesdays”, they decided to take BOTB more seriously, putting more effort and time into their practices and creating their own original composition. Aldrich mentioned that that was his first time writing a song and experiencing performing it live.
Tumblr media
Ever since he was a child, Aldrich has been very interested in music. “I was exposed to a lot of music as my Dad loves to collect and play a lot of music in our house. I’ve always been the first one to take the mic during any karaoke sessions back then and I tried learning the guitar when I was 10 but eventually gave up as my hands were too small to do some chords (barre chords, specifically),” he told us. “That’s why when I had the opportunity to create a band where we would get to practice and perform songs, I immediately took it.”
Being part of a band was new to Aldrich since it meant he had to own a guitar to practice on his own. It also meant he had to do studio practices which were also very new to him. Nonetheless, he said that it made him a better musician, as every time they would practice a song, he would put all his time and effort into learning it. He also said that it was a good way to practice his creativity since whenever they performed songs, he usually arranged them and led the band to make them sound tighter and more cohesive.
Aldrich’s experience throughout his BOTB life was very exciting. “It was an adventure that I am willing to try again if given the chance,” he said. For him, it was nice to start from scratch doing something he loves along with his friends who share the same passion for music as he does. “I remember having the best memories with them during all of our studio rehearsals,” Aldrich added, reminiscing on how they got to bond closer together through music. He mentioned that he doesn’t recall a single rehearsal where they went home sad or angry at each other. “It was all fun and good vibes inside the studio as we would just make fun of each other for making mistakes or switching instruments during our break and sometimes, spending 30 minutes talking about “chismis” while waiting for our members who are late.” (“[Which was] sometimes me,” he added cheerily.)
On the other hand, his experience in both his BOTB performances were the same. He told us how he would get nervous at first, especially when they were beside the stage and were up next, but also how their 15-minute set would only feel like 30 seconds once they got on stage. He said that it was only after a while that they would already find themselves exiting the stage as they finished their last song. And after it all, according to Aldrich, “it’s just a sigh of relief from everyone in the band; taking pictures with everyone, congratulating the other bands, and watching the remaining bands perform.”
For Aldrich, BOTB was a great start to practicing his musicianship since it introduced him to the habit of practicing and honing not only his guitar skills but also his showmanship on stage. “Seeing my improvement along with my band between the two BOTBs that we performed in set the bar for me to always make sure that my next gig or set should always be better than my last,” he shared.
Aldrich told us that until now, he still brings with him the lessons he has learned from BOTB. “Most notably, my BOTB experience helped me establish my passion for music and how I want to be known as a songwriter and a performer,” he said. “Also, most of my musical endeavors in college involved music collaboration, and having already experienced this in BOTB helped me develop my skills to collaborate with other musicians better.”
Tumblr media
Aldrich tells the budding musicians of UPIS to not be afraid to try something new. “As long as you want it, go ahead and try,” he said. He added that it’s also normal to feel like you’re just a “beginner” or “not good enough”. He reassures us that “everyone has to start somewhere—just know that as long as you don’t stop, you’ll soon reach the levels you want to reach.”
You can find Aldrich on Instagram, Facebook, X, and Spotify.
Elkan Reyes
Tumblr media
Elkan Reyes is a Batch 2020 alumnus currently majoring in guitar performance. As part of his requirements, he has a lot of performances inside his school (such as orchestra class and his upcoming recital in June). Outside of school, he teaches music as a part-time job and plays in his band and solo project, Elkan.
In UPIS, he had two bands: Silakbo and Elks. In Grade 7 or 8, he played as the drummer for the former. In Grade 12, he played in BOTB as a guest band, doing rhythm guitar and vocals for the latter. They came back to play in BOTB 2023 as a guest band.
Tumblr media
Elkan looked back on his childhood when he was asked about why he decided to join BOTB. He talked about his musical upbringing—how he grew up around music, regularly took music lessons, and did many recitals as a kid—and how performing was a natural thing for him. At the same time, he also mentioned, especially as a child, how he wanted to have that kind of band experience. He shared that it was his first time being in a band when he was part of Silakbo, though it wasn’t his first time performing per se.
Elkan said that most people who join BOTB will relate that at first, when you’re still gathering bandmates, there are instances where some instrumentalists are just roped in. That was the case for him in Silakbo, where even if he preferred playing guitar and singing, he was chosen as their drummer. Although, he remarked that, “normal naman ‘yun na palaging kulang ang drummer.”
Taking from his BOTB experience with Silakbo, he said that when it comes to preparations, “palaging gahol [sa oras]”. He said that the one month or so before the screening or the performance itself was stressful—add to that the fact that they didn’t play very often and that he and his bandmates were still adjusting to each other since they weren’t the closest of friends. He also mentioned how at the time, it was always a race between bands to book their rehearsals at Ciento Rehearsal Studio—or as he calls it, “Dagohoy” (since it is located at Pook Dagohoy, UP Diliman), which made the preparations all the more stressful. After all, according to him, “Dagohoy was the place to be.”
When it came to their performance in BOTB, Elkan personally wasn’t that nervous since he was already used to performing since he was a kid. But he did notice his bandmates’ nerves, and to that he shared the difficulty of when a bandmate makes a mistake and how it can drive the band to play at a different speed, whether slower or faster.
So BOTB, admittedly, was stressful for Elkan. “[But] despite that,” he said, “masaya pa ‘rin, kasi ‘di ba kaya ka naman nagbo-BOTB [ay dahil] gusto mong mag-perform? Gusto mong magpasaya ng batchmates mo.” He added that “BOTB is the night of rakrakan, so talagang masaya pa rin siya.” BOTB was still a fun experience for Elkan, even with the nerves and the stress. To him, it was worth it.
Tumblr media
Elkan shared that BOTB honed his skill of performing in front of a crowd or live audience. It also helped him learn how to manage a band. He learned how to be strict in terms of what is best for it and he learned to be diligent in scheduling rehearsals. Aside from that, he also discovered what commonly happens whenever one plays in a band—giving the example he mentioned before, the instances where the tempo of the music changes when the band is nervous. Most of all, he learned how to help his bandmates in the times when things get confusing or messy in rehearsals or performances.
Those learnings from BOTB have stayed with him up until today, when he plays in his own band. Since he is the frontman of his current band, his lessons from BOTB really helped him. Also because of all the experiences he had such as consistently having trouble with a specific section of the song, the band’s sound not being very clean, or being clueless when it comes to adjusting the equipment on stage, he gained knowledge on what aspects to improve on, what mishaps to look out for, and how to avoid them.
Elkan said, “Kapag nagbabanda ka outside of BOTB . . . in an audience na hindi ka kilala, or if you’re trying to market yourself, you have to be fully prepared.” Because of his BOTB experience, he learned how to be just that.
Tumblr media
He has two messages for the musicians of UPIS—a reminder and a few words of advice. He reminds musicians—especially the ones that are part of ensembles—to not practice your individual parts during rehearsals. He said that rehearsals won’t make any progress if you do so. “Consistently practice your part at home. . . . If you practice everyday, whether simple lang siya or mahirap, kapag consistent mo siyang ginagawa, palagi at palagi kang mag-iimprove.” And, “Just keep playing.” Those are his words of advice. “When you perform or when you play, that’s always a start of something,” he added. He shared an instance where if you perhaps messed up the previous year, you would not choose to perform again because of the embarrassment and the thought that people might just remember your mistakes. But he simply countered that with, “Tugtog lang.” Because to Elkan, nothing will happen—not unless you play.
You can find Elkan on Instagram, Facebook, and SoundCloud.
Keio Guzman
Tumblr media
Keio Guzman is a Batch 2020 alumnus. He currently finds himself doing mainly production work such as mixing and mastering. He also works for BANDAI Namco and is a student in music production. Recently, he has been doing more electronic music—arranging, composing, “the usual musician [stuff],” as he calls it. Keio also sessions for bands, playing electric guitar and electric bass guitar.
When he was still a student, he was part of a few bands in elementary and high school. Some time in high school, he performed in MCLive with one of his bands, Smilky. (He mentioned that the name came from a SUD song of the same title.) Meanwhile, his other high school band, Elks, formed when he was in Grade 12. They performed in BOTB as a guest band in 2020 and 2023.
While it wasn’t his first time being in a band when he joined BOTB, Keio told us that he decided to do so because “it was fun; it was with friends.” He added that it was also mainly because he wanted to play with Elkan, the frontman of Elks, and other musicians.
Tumblr media
For Keio, the preparations for BOTB were a nice experience. It helped him see what it was like to be in a band setting, but still with the consideration that it’s in a school setting. That made it much more intimate, he said, because it was an experience with the people in school. Overall, BOTB was an experience that Keio thinks everyone should have because it helps set one’s standards and because—as a musician or as someone who wants to pursue music—it is important to have any form of experience in that regard. He also shared, “It’s nice to see the batchmates support what you do,” and, “As a musician, at the end of the day, I feel like it’s always a nice feeling to see the crowd, to see your friends, and whoever else that’s watching, support you.”
His experience in BOTB taught him how to talk to the right people—to find a circle of like-minded individuals that are interested in the same field as he is.
To the aspiring musicians in UPIS, Keio said, “Don’t forget the part [that] if you aspire to become a musical artist—artist in particular—half the battle is [public relations], and the other half is if your music is good. You have to be good. . . . Invest in your musicality. Don’t take shortcuts in music. Never take shortcuts in music.”
You can find Keio on Soundcloud and on Spotify.
Reisa Elgincolin
Tumblr media
Reisa Elgincolin is a Batch 2015 alumna. She has a Spotify solo career as Underdogpianist, she is the UP Music Circle’s Vice President of Presentations Committee, she currently sessions for many local bands in both the underground scene and pop label (under Universal Records and Soupstar Music), and she is a MIDI music arranger for an Australian-based karaoke client.
In 2013, she performed in BOTB as a lead singer, keyboardist, and guitarist alongside batchmates Ryan Cacho, Rheyven Fernando, and Alexis Advincula. She said that she decided to join the event because she was encouraged by her peers and because she had a good sense of musicality and arrangement. She also said, “[I] wanted to explore my passion more in a band setting.”
While Reisa had been part of numerous casual bands prior, it was all for culminating activity purposes or batch team building events. This made the BOTB experience different for her. “[It] felt different in a good way,” she shared. She also added how BOTB wasn’t something she was used to, since her musical background had mainly been classical piano since she was six years old.
In BOTB, Reisa said that she felt freer to do what she wanted to sing or play. She also mentioned that she had great chemistry with her bandmates and that up to this day, she is still in touch with them. She even recalled some of her memories with them. “We’d practice after school a lot sa home studio namin and it [always] felt [really] refreshing to do something other than academic work,” she shared.
When we asked her about BOTB’s influence on her musicianship, Reisa said, “It shaped my courage.” BOTB helped boost her confidence during a time when she was still lost and unsure of what path she wanted to pursue as a third year high school student.
Reisa shared with us what has stayed with her from her BOTB experience: “Always be prepared to take whatever opportunity lands your way because you never know who’s watching within the audience and where that performance—no matter how small or big—may bring you.”
Lastly, her message to the student-musicians of UPIS is, “be true to yourself, have faith in your abilities, and always be memorable to your crowd.”
You can find Reisa on Instagram, Facebook, and Spotify.
Darius Casuga
Tumblr media
Darius Casuga is a Batch 2009 alumnus. In 2023, one of his bands, Lemlunay, launched an album called “Hanap Buhay”. He mentions that it’s a pun between “hanapbuhay”, the word referring to work, and “hanap buhay”, as in “finding life in the mundane.” He also started vlogging on YouTube back in 2022 to bring hype towards their album launch and help it gain traction. Currently, Darius is studying mixing and mastering since he is part of four bands.
When he was in UPIS, Darius was in three bands—one in elementary, and two in high school. One of his high school bands, 天スレイブ, joined BOTB. He played guitar in that band. Meanwhile, he had another band with his other batchmates that he played bass for, though that band did not join BOTB.
We asked why he decided to join BOTB, and Darius answered, “Even before high school kasi, mahilig na’ko sa music, so lahat ng puwede kong pasukan, sige.” He listed down his participation in his village choir, in an orchestra, and then his band. He noted that that was his first time being in a rock band. He also remembered how two of their members said they couldn’t graduate UPIS without joining the Battle of the Bands, giving them all the more reason to join. “It was a coming-of-age type of thing, I think,” Darius said.
Tumblr media
Darius looked back on his BOTB experience, sharing memories from their preparations. “Masaya ‘yung preps namin—usually sa bahay ‘yun nina Fidel. Tapos na-realize ko, ‘yung bulk ng core memories ko nung high school ay puro nando’n. Like, wala masyado do’n sa other stuff, puro do’n sa band stuff na.” He explained that back then, it was still a bit patriarchal in UP, so most of the boys in school were interested in basketball or “macho stuff”. Since that was not Darius’s cup of tea, he didn’t quite fit in, but he said that once he started being part of his band, he didn’t feel the need to fit in anymore. He realized, “uy, this is my thing.”
For their BOTB performance, Darius lightheartedly said, “nagkalat kami.” But even so, he said that they were still able to hype the crowd up. He also remembered how people were surprised they joined BOTB. Because they were the “nerds” or the “introverts”, people didn’t expect it from them.
Darius said that now, whenever he writes songs with lyrics, the kind of setup he imagines is the one they had in BOTB—one pianist, one drummer, one bassist, two guitars (which didn’t have designated lead or rhythm roles since Darius wanted those interchangeable), and a female and a male vocalist. He told us that having that setup for BOTB formed his idea of those positions being the ones he would want to fill when he joins bands outside high school or even college.
He also recalled the time before BOTB when he performed around sixth grade, which was around the time he had his band awakening. He and his bandmates were pushed to perform on the high school students’ stage. Darius says that performance was the first time he ever saw the people that he didn’t quite get along with sing along with them, and it didn’t feel like a “plastikan moment” either. He even quotes a Madonna lyric to go along with that memory: “Music makes the people come together, music, mix the bourgeoisie and the rebel.”
Tumblr media
When we asked for his words of advice or inspiration for UPIS student-musicians, Darius gave the dictionary definition of music: “Music is the tonal analog of the emotive life.” Along with this, Darius said that when you meet someone you vibe with, “tropahin mo agad, ‘tas yayain mo ng jam. Minsan mas mahalaga ‘yung vibe kaysa sa skill level.” And he added that when you meet someone that you don’t vibe with, “tropahin mo pa rin,” he said, then jokingly added, “baka siraan ka,” which he justified with the explanation of the music community being small.
He also said to know yourself as a musician. “Bakit ka tumutugtog? Anong gusto mong tugtugin?” he asked. There could be several reasons for why you do music—religion, politics, an outlet for your emotions, to catch your crush’s attention—and they are all valid. Music is right there, and it is there for the reason that you do it. And so Darius says to find whatever your purpose is, then set practice routines accordingly.
You can find Boshicore on YouTube and Instagram for behind-the-scenes, vlogs, covers, and originals. You can find Darius’s band, Lemlunay, on Spotify and Instagram.
We behold not only these musicians but also the journeys that they went on. Whether onstage or off, whether in UPIS or outside, their stories and experiences hold inspiration for the next generation of musicians from our school. Knowing that BOTB has taught these artists a lot and has given them many invaluable experiences, we hope that the aspiring musicians in UPIS are not afraid to tackle the BOTB stage. We’ve learned that BOTB is not just a competition, but also that it is an experience that shapes young music makers—the ones who might just turn out to be the artists you listen to years from now.

OK. OC COMIC LORE INFODUMP AHEAD
WANNA KNOW ABOUT MY OC THING? YOU ARE IN SO MUCH LUCK…
so as some of u know im making a comic. with some ocs in it. ive mentioned it several times before. this post is where i will finally tell some details regarding it.
so basically its about a time traveler who winds up in the year 2012, and his time machine breaks, so now he’s stuck there until he can fix it or find a new one.
these r the two main guys:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(NOTE: there is a math error on venn’s height. hes actually around 190 cm. when i was figuring it out i accidentally calculated for 5 feet 3 inches instead of 6 feet 3 inches)
(another note: a lot of metric will be used bc its a scifi comic and science uses metric a lot)
anyway so yeah. venn is the time traveler guy i mentioned earlier. josh happens to be walking by as venn’s time machine breaks, offers for him to stay at his place for the time being, and so. thats how the story is kinda set into motion.
NOW FOR SOME OTHER STUFF. WORLD STUFF.
ok so, in this comic’s universe there are two main organizations for time travel. the ICTTA (International Committee for Time Travel Affairs) and the ITB (International Time Board). the ICTTA (also referred to as simply the Committee) make all of the different rules and regulations regarding time travel. now, the Committee’s members consist of specialists in time law. These people don’t do any of the actual time travel, they just know the laws regarding it. To make decisions a bit more fair, any time something is being voted on, they also get votes from the ITB, who are made up of actual time travelers.
some more on the ITB: in order to join, you need to have been a registered time traveler for at least two years. also, venn is on the board as well!!! usually you have more influence if you’ve been a member for a long while and have contributed a lot. There is also the High Board, which have the final say in decisions of the the ITB. They’re a small part of the Board, made up of like 5-ish people typically, and in order to become a part of the High Board, you need to be invited, and if you ARE invited, its like. a HUGE deal. like Pinnacle of your Whole Entire Career kind of moment that most time travelers aspire to experience.
some more on becoming a time traveler: so in order to procure a time machine and use it, you meed to be a licensed time traveler. how do you become licensed? by going to school for it!!! 6 long years of mostly physics and history, as well as some general time travel ettiquete. usually straight after high school. once you finish that, you are officially a time traveler. you have the job for life and technically speaking, you work under the ICTTA. the way its a job is basically you go on missions and you get paid each month. there are some benefits, like how youre given free housing and can get discounts on stuff.
some notes on time machines: in this universe, they arent the big elaborate ones you step into. rather, theyre handheld devices that are usually the size of either a nintendo wii or an ipad mini, depending on how recent the model is. the Committee provide their own time machines for free (which is what a lot of younger time travelers opt for), but if youd like your own from some other place, they typically cost a lot of money. there are some older models that can come secondhand for a bit cheaper, though. venn uses one of those.
SOME ADDITIONAL NOTES:
the “future” isnt really the future. it’s the widely accepted Universal Present Year, or UPY. when time travel was first invented, a present time had to be established in order to mark what counts as either the Past, Present or Future. There is also a UPD/T which is the same thing but more precise, down to the date and time.
in the UPY of 2148, (venn’s year of origin) everyone is under 24-hour surveillance everywhere. you may think that time travelers can get out of this, however, measures have been taken specifically to prevent this from happening. see, once you become a time traveler, you get assigned someone to basically follow you around wherever you go and make sure you dont do anything illegal. these people are typically nicknamed “watchovers,” and they are known to be very annoying, pushy, nagging people.
24 hour clocks are used in time travel because its a lot more convenient.
things that the ICTTA makes rulings on: general things regarding the act of time travel, splits in timelines and timeline taxonomy (theres a list of events the Committee deem “chronologically significant” which get their own letter or number in a timeline’s classification if they are diverted from. an example would be stuff like historic court rulings or famous political assassinations), whether or not to go back in time and erase an event and its collective memory by the public (i.e. the invention of the flying car), etc etc.
the identity of the person who invented time travel is confidential, so as to prevent something like assassination.
NOTES ON THE SETTING:
it is a city called Rose City. its somewhat based on new york, mainly because new york is the city i know the most about, but i digress. anyway, both venn and josh are from this city, just born in different years. josh was born in 1989 (so if he was real he would be 35 currently) and venn was born in 2114 (which, if he were also real, would make him exactly -90). below is some visual stuff.
Tumblr media
SOME OTHER STUFF:
very big things to remember when time traveling:
blend in as much as possible, try not to change the timeline (incurs a fine, the severity of which depends on the severity of the alteration)
dont tell anyone you are a time traveler
dont bring anything back with you without express permission
if you are going to the future, TELL NO ONE WHAT YOU SAW. if you are going to the past, do not tell them of the future.
leave no evidence of assassination. (sometimes time travelers get hired to kill people from the past for specific reasons. it’s kind of rare, but when it happens it can only happen if it is voted on by the High Board.)
THERE IS PROBABLY MORE IM FORGETTING LORE WISE ABOUT ALL OF THIS BUT YEAH. MAKING ALL OF THIS INTO A COMIC, HOWEVER IM CURRENTLY DRAFTING IT. couldnt wait to explain my ocs to u guys so i figured id just make an infodump post abt them….
IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS SEND ME AN ASK!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE I LOVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT MY OCS. who knows. maybe ur question might remind me of some lore i forgot to mention??? it can also be about little things tho like “what are their favorite foods” or “what are their birthdays” or something. you can also ask abt all the rest of the lore tho!!! will probably reblog with some more soon.

25 Days of BeChloe Christmases
DAY 2 - Never Have I Ever - Bellas Christmas Edition
Summary: After the USO Tour, the Bellas had all slowly migrated west and were now living in and around LA. Beca invites them over for Christmas Eve to exchange Christmas gifts and watch the tape of her recent appearance on Ellen. Ellen's guests played Never Have I Ever; Beca's answers while playing led the Bellas to believe Beca was seeing someone. A secret someone.
It was Christmas Eve, and the Bellas were sitting around Beca's living room, waiting for Beca to return home. She had to go into the studio and asked Chloe to play hostess for her until she could get back. Beca gave them permission to watch the show without her, so they were all sitting around the living room waiting for Chloe set the TV up.
"It's ready," Chloe said. "Everyone grab a drink and some snacks so we can get started."
"Does anyone know who else is on the show with Beca?" Ashley asked.
"Yeah," Chloe said. "She told me it was Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg."
"Wow," Jessica said. "Don't they have a show together now?"
"They do," Lily said. "It's on VH1, and it's calledMartha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party."
"Oh yeah," CR said. "I've seen that. They are hysterical together."
"Does Beca sing on the show?" Aubrey asked.
"No," Chloe said. "She doesn't have any new music coming out. She'll be talking about that movie she just finished with Justin Timberlake."
"The one she does a voice for?" Emily asked. "Trolls."
"That's right," Chloe said, taking her seat. "Are we ready to start?"
"Let's do this," Fat Amy said as everyone settled down.
"I'm going to fast forward through the parts that Beca isn't in," Chloe said as she hit play, and the show started.
"Can we watch the opening monologue?" Ashley asked. "Ellen usually says some funny stuff during that."
"Okay," Chloe said.
The show started, and Ellen did her opening monologue. After taking her seat, she announced who was on the show before going to a commercial break. Chloe fast-forwarded through the commercial to where Beca was introduced and came onto the stage. The Bellas were talking about how good Beca looked.
After chatting a bit about the movieTrolls, Ellen went to another commercial break. Chloe fast-forwarded again and stopped when she saw Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, and Beca all sitting on the couch.
"Welcome back," Ellen said. "We're going to play a game calledNever Have I Ever."Ellen picks up some paddles and hands them to Beca. "Take one and pass it down."
Beca does as Ellen asks and sits, waiting for what comes next.
"The paddles each haveI Haveon one side, andI Have Noton the other. I'm going to ask a question, and you hold up the paddle with your answer as to whether you have or have not done it," Ellen explained. "And you have to be 100% honest."
"You're not giving us a lie detector test, are you?" Snoop Dogg asked, causing Beca to laugh.
"Probably not, but you have to be one hundred percent truthful," Ellen said and looked at the first card. "Okay, first question. Never Have I Ever sexted."
The guests think and held up their paddles. Martha, Snoop Dogg, and Beca all hold upI Have. Ellen is the only one who held upI Have Never.
The audience laughed, and Beca looked down the row and sees that Martha Stewart hadI Havefacing the audience. Beca laughed almost hysterically and said, "I'm so glad I'm here today."
"Wow!" Ellen said and looked at Martha.
Martha sat there smiling at Ellen. "Martha! You've sexted before? Do you know what that is?"
Martha gives her a "Duh" look. "I have used technology a lot more than you will ever know."
Snoop Dogg laughed, and Ellen said, "Wow! Alright. Yow!" Ellen then looks at Martha again. "Is it with someone current, or is this a while ago?"
"It doesn't say none of your business," Martha said as she looked at her paddle.
Beca lets out another laugh, and the audience applauds.
Beca fans herself with her paddle and lets out a "whoo" as the show goes to another commercial.
"I wonder who Beca sexted?" Stacie asked. "She hasn't mentioned it before."
No one said anything, although they were all wondering the same thing.
~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~
"Next question," Ellen said. "Never Have I Ever been in handcuffs."
The guests almost immediately put up their paddles. Martha and Ellen hadI Have Never, while Snoop Dogg and Beca both had up I Have.
The audience laughed when everyone showed their answers. Snoop Dogg looked at Beca's paddle and smiled. Ellen looked at Beca and asked, "You have? Was it for a movie?"
"No," Beca said, looking at the audience and then down at her paddle.
"Being arrested?" Ellen asked.
"That wasn't the question," Beca said, causing laughter from the audience.
"Yeah," Snoop Dogg said. "It may have been another style of handcuffs that calls for a bed."
Beca sits up straight with a secretive smile but doesn't respond.
After a few more questions, the game concluded. Ellen thanked her guests, and Chloe turned off the tape.
"Okay," Stacie said, looking around at the Bellas. "Who is Beca seeing? Snoop Dogg made a good point about the handcuffs and the bed."
"Yeah," Amy said. "But remember, Beca did get arrested our Freshman year. She may have just been messing around. You know how she is."
"I'm with Amy," CR said. "It was probably just a joke."
"I don't know," Jessica said. "She was blushing a bit when she said it."
Chloe sat there and didn't say anything, although she could feel the heat from her blushing cheeks.
"Chloe," Stacie said.
"What?!" Chloe answered, shifting nervously.
"You're Beca's best friend," Stacie said. "Who is she seeing? We want to know who Beca is getting her kink on with."
"I don't know," Chloe said, looking down at the ground.
Stacie narrowed her eyes and looked at Chloe. "You're being cagey. You know something."
"Come on, you guys," Chloe whined. "Even if I knew anything, I couldn't tell you."
"So, she is seeing someone," Emily said excitedly. "OMG! Did she get back together with Jesse?"
"NO!" Chloe said loudly. "I mean, why would you think that?"
"Well, she's in LA," Emily said. "He's in LA. They have a history. It makes sense."
"Emily's right," Aubrey said. "Who else could it be? She's in the tabloids all the time but never with anyone. Well, except Chloe."
Chloe jumped up. "I need another drink. Anyone else want one?"
"That's because they're best friends," Emily said with a laugh. "You'd expect to see them together."
"No?" Chloe mumbled, looking around. "Okay, I'll be right back."
Chloe tried to act nonchalant as she hurried out of the room. The Bellas continued talking about who Beca could be seeing.
Chloe pulled out her phone as soon as she got into the kitchen. She pulled up Beca's name and sent her a text.
Beca texted back and told Chloe she was almost home and she'd be there in about ten minutes. Chloe let out a breath and put her phone away. She quickly made herself another drink and went back to the living room.
"I bet I'm right," Fat Amy said.
"How much do you want to bet?" CR asked.
"What are you two betting on?" Chloe asked as she sat down.
"Who we think Beca's secret boyfriend or girlfriend is," Fat Amy said. "I'm putting up fifty bucks that it's Selena Gomez."
"Really?" Chloe asked. "I read she was dating someone."
"I read that, too," Emily said. "But the article said whoever it was is a mystery."
"A mysteryman," CR said. "I don't think she's into women."
"Amy, you're always around here," Aubrey said. "You have to have seen Beca with someone."
"The only person I ever see when I'm here is Chloe," Fat Amy said.
Before anyone can say anything, they hear a key in the door. A few seconds later, Beca walked into the living room.
"Thank God," Chloe mumbled.
"What's up, losers?" Beca called out.
"Okay, Beca," Stacie said. "Spill!"
"Spill what?" Beca asked, stopping to look at Stacie.
"Who are you seeing, and why haven't you told us about it?" Fat Amy answered.
"Who said I'm seeing someone?"
"The answers you gave onEllen," Aubrey said. "So, stop avoiding it and answer the question."
"Nope," Beca said. "Sorry, but some things shall remain private even from you nerds. If I wanted you to know, I'd tell you."
"Let's playNever Have I Ever," Fat Amy said. "Let's see if there are any secrets we don't know about each other."
The Bellas smiled when they realized Amy had something up her sleeve. Something that might lead to Beca telling them who she was seeing.
"What? Why?" Beca asked.
"What's wrong, Beca?' Stacie asked with a smug smile. "Afraid you'll slip up and reveal who you're having a secret relationship with?"
Beca looked around the room at the other girls and smiled. "Fine. Let's play."
"I'll get the shots ready," Fat Amy said and went to the kitchen.
"I'll help Amy," CR said.
"Me, too," Jessica said.
CR and Jessica followed Amy while the rest of the Bellas moved around so they could see each other. Beca finally took a seat next to Chloe.
"Are you okay with this?" Beca whispered.
"I am if you are," Chloe whispered back.
"Great, I have a perfect way to tell them," Beca said. "Follow my lead."
"Okay," Chloe said and bit her lip nervously.
Fat Amy, Jessica, and CR came back in, each carrying a tray of shots. They had each girl take one before setting the trays on the table.
"I'll go first," Fat Amy said. "Never Have I Ever kept a secret boyfriend from my friends."
"You're supposed to say something you've never actually done," Stacie said. "What about you and Bumper? You always said he wasn't your boyfriend."
"But you all knew about him, so it doesn't count," Fat Amy said.
She looked around and saw that Beca had not downed her shot. "Hmm, I thought that would tell us something."
"It did," Aubrey said smugly.
"It did?" Stacie asked.
"Yes, it did," Aubrey said. "It tells us she has a secretgirlfriend."
"Oh," the Bellas say collectively.
"I guess that rules Jesse out," Emily said.
"Jesse?" Beca said, grimacing. "Really?"
Emily shrugged her shoulders. Beca shook her head and laughed.
"My turn," CR said. "Never Have I Ever hooked up with someone whose album I produced."
"Oh, come on," Beca said. "I'm the only producer here, so that shouldn't count."
"So, are you saying you have hooked up with someone whose album you produced?" Ashley asked.
"No, I am not saying that," Beca said.
"Damn," CR said.
"Let the sexpert handle this," Stacie said. She looked up to the ceiling and then smiled. "Never Have I Ever...wait, I've done that. Um, Never have I. . .um, nope, did that, too."
"Someone else go," Lily said. "We'll be here all night if we wait for Stacie to think of something she hasn't done."
The Bellas all laugh, and Beca speaks up. "I'll go."
The Bellas sit up straighter, and all eyes are on Beca, wondering what secret about herself she would reveal.
"Never Have I Ever lied about having a secret fiance," Beca said and downed her shot.
The Bellas all furrowed their brows. "What?" several of them asked.
"Beca, you're supposed to say something you've never done," Fat Amy said.
"I know," Beca said with a smile.
Chloe downed her shot, and the girls looked at her, confused.
They were all startled when Aubrey suddenly jumped up and yelled, "You two are engaged!?"
"What!?" The Bellas all ask as they looked at Beca and Chloe.
"We didn't even know you guys were dating," Stacie said.
"When did this happen?" Ashley asked.
"How did this happen?" Jessica asked.
"You didn't tell me, and I'm your best friend," Fat Amy said.
"Okay, okay," Beca said. "Give us time to answer one thing before you go on to the next."
"First," Chloe said and reached into her pocket. She pulled out a ring and started to put it on her finger.
"Wait," Beca said and took the ring; she placed it on Chloe's finger and kissed her. "I love you."
Beca then took a ring out of her pocket, and Chloe took it and put it on Beca's finger. She kissed Beca, whispering, "I love you, too."
"Okay," Beca said, turning to the Bellas. "Now to your questions. We started dating just after Chloe moved to LA. We kept it a secret because we wanted to keep it out of the press until we figured out if the relationship was going to work."
"The relationship worked really well, and Beca asked me to marry her a week ago," Chloe said as she looked at Beca. "We knew we were going to tell you all today. We just weren't sure how. Then when you guys started asking who Beca was dating, I panicked and sent Beca a text while I was in the kitchen."
"Yeah," Beca said with a laugh. "You guys gave me the perfect idea when Amy suggested we playNever Ever Have I Ever."
Beca leaned forward and kissed Chloe. "And now that you know, I can do that in front of you."
Chloe laughed and grabbed Beca behind the neck, and pulled her into a deeper kiss.
"Let's keep it PG," Fat Amy said, causing the two to break apart. "We still have a child in our midst."
Emily looked over to see Amy pointing at her. "I'm not a child, Amy."
"Will you two behave," Aubrey scolded. "There are more important things to talk about. Like, how my best friend is engaged, and I didn't even know she was dating anyone."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, Brey," Chloe said, looking at her best friend. "Once we knew we were all in, I kind of liked that Beca and I were the only ones who knew. And, once it got out, we'd be bombarded with paparazzi and everyone wanting to know every aspect of our lives. I liked living in that secret bubble, and I wanted to stay there for a while. But now that we're engaged, I want everyone to know."
Beca took Chloe's hand and gave her a smile. They both looked at Aubrey, waiting for her to yell at them.
"I'm happy for you guys," Aubrey said and grabbed them both in a hug, taking them both by surprise.
"Thank you, Brey," Chloe said as Aubrey pulled back from the hug. "I think it goes without saying that I want you to be my Maid of Honor."
"Of course," Aubrey said. "I'd be honored."
"Congratulations, you two," Emily squealed. "This is aca-awesome news! I'm so happy for you both."
"Go ahead, Beca," Fat Amy said. "Ask me."
"Ask you what?"
"Ask me to be your Maid of Honor," Fat Amy said.
"Um, well, I kind of already asked someone else," Beca said and looked at Chloe.
"But I'm your best friend," Fat Amy whined.
"I know, but she helped me with the proposal, and it just seemed right," Beca said. "I hope you understand."
"It was a really amazing proposal," Chloe said, kissing Beca's cheek.
"Amy? We good?"
"Yeah, we're good," Amy mumbled.
"So, who did you ask?" Emily asked.
Beca's phone pinged with a text notification. She pulled out her phone and smiled when she read the text.
"Um, you'll see in about five minutes," Beca said, sending off a quick response.
"Just tell us, Beca," Fat Amy said.
"I'm keeping it a surprise," Beca said.
Beca sat back with a smile on her face and waited. It had been only about two minutes, and Fat Amy couldn't wait any longer.
"Who's your maid of honor, Beca? You should at least tell me, after all, I am the best friend you're casting aside to let some no-name stand with you on the most important day of your life. So, just tell me."
There was a knock at the door. Beca smiled as she stood, saying, "Why tell you when I can show you."
Beca went to the door and came back with Taylor Swift carrying a gift bag.
"OH, MY STARS!" Emily squealed. "Taylor Swift is your maid of honor?"
"Yep," Chloe said, standing to hug Taylor. "Hey, Taylor."
"Hi, Chloe," Taylor said, pulling back from Chloe and looking around. "And, I guess it's safe to assume these ladies are the Bellas."
"Yes, ma'am," Stacie said. "That's us!"
The girls introduced themselves; Taylor was a bit taken aback at the glare Fat Amy gave her during the introductions.
"Oh, my god!" Aubrey exclaimed as she jumped up, startling everyone. "I have to work with Taylor Swift to organize your bachelorette parties?"
"Yeah, that's right," Taylor answered. "Can I get your number so I can have my assistant call you to set up some time so we can get started as soon as possible?"
"Sure," Aubrey said, putting her hand in front of her mouth and swallowing loudly. "Oh, my god, Taylor Swift just asked me for my number."
Chloe looked at Aubrey and noticed the look of panic on her face.
"Are you okay, Brey?"
"I have to work with Taylor Swift to organize your bachelorette parties," Aubrey murmured, retaking her seat.
"I think you guys broke her," Stacie said, chuckling as she looked at Aubrey.
"Is she going to be okay?" Taylor asked.
"She'll be fine," Beca said.
"Ahem," Fat Amy said, clearing her throat.
Beca and Taylor looked at her. Fat Amy got up and walked over to Taylor.
"You may be Beca's maid of honor," Amy said, getting in Taylor's face. "But I'm herbestfriend."
"I thought Chl-"
"No," Beca said, stopping Taylor while shaking her head as she got between Amy and Taylor. "You really do not want to open up that can of worms right now." She then turned to Amy. "Amy, be nice."
Amy put up her hands in surrender and went back to her seat.
"Okay," Taylor said. "It was nice seeing you all, but I really have to run."
"Can't you stay a little longer?" Emily asked. "Maybe we can sing together or something? Oh, my stars, wouldn't that just make this the best Christmas ever?"
"Let's singChristmas Tree Farm," Jessica called out. "I love that song."
"I agree," Fat Amy said. "You should sing with us, Taylor; you owe me for stealing the maid of honor job from Beca's best friend, who is me."
Taylor laughed and looked at Fat Amy; her smile dropped when she saw the look on Fat Amy's face. She turned to Beca, asking, "Is she serious?"
"I'm afraid so," Beca said. "Don't worry, I know just what to do."
Taylor looked over to see Fat Amy glaring at her again.
"Okay," Taylor said. "Do what you gotta do because I really do need to go."
"Hey, Ames," Beca said. "If you let Taylor go because she has to be somewhere, you can take the lead onChristmas Tree Farm. Okay?"
"You drive a hard bargain,my bestie," Fat Amy said. "I accept your terms. Miss Taylor, you are free to go."
Amy stood, waving her hand toward the door.
"Well?" Amy said, looking at Taylor.
"You'd better go while you still can, Taylor," Jessica said. "Or you may be spending Christmas here whether you want to or not."
"Oh, okay, um, thanks!" Taylor said, rushing to the door and calling out, "Merry Christmas, everyone!"
Once Taylor was gone, Fat Amy started singing and stared the girls down until they joined in. Beca grabbed Chloe's hand and dragged her to the kitchen.
"Merry Christmas, future wife," Beca said, pulling Chloe into a kiss. "I love you."
"I love you, too!"
There was a sudden, loud crash from the living room. Beca sighed and walked out of the kitchen, yelling, "Amy! What did you do?"

Andrew Plaut, a gastrointestinal specialist at Tufts University New England Medical Center in Boston, in a 1982 UPI story, is paraphrased as saying that “bisexual men who come into the cities for several sexual contacts a night and return to their wives may be spreading the disease among heterosexuals” and that gay bowel syndrome “is the latest link in what the doctors fear is a contagion that could reach heterosexuals.” The implicit warning in this passage is the forecast that gay bowel syndrome might spread into the general population. Jan Zita Grover illuminates how the general population is set up in relation to high risk groups and AIDS:
According to the term’s users—the media, public health officials, politicians—“the general population” is virtuously going about its business, which is not pleasure-seeking (as drugs and gay life are uniformly imagined to be), so AIDS hits its members as an assault from diseased hedonists upon hard-working innocents.
Plaut’s statement is also unique in that it complicates a clear distinction between the innocent general population and the guilty high-risk group. This appears to be the only instance of directly mentioning bisexuality to be of import in the transmission of gay bowel syndrome conditions. Plaut, unlike other writers, tells his readers exactly how gay bowel syndrome might cross over from the perverts to the morally clean, resulting in a process of innocent infection. Anyone can be susceptible to the medical consequences of homosexuality, instilling fear and panic as a motivator for discriminatory practices, homophobic violence, and oppression.

Understanding VPA in UPI: A Key Component of Seamless Digital Payments
The digital revolution has ushered in a new era of banking and financial transactions, making traditional methods of transferring money a thing of the past. At the forefront of this revolution in India is the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), a real-time payment system designed to facilitate seamless transactions between banks. One essential element of UPI is the VPA (Virtual Payment Address). But what is VPA in UPI, and why is it integral to the success of digital payments in India? This article delves into the intricacies of VPA, demystifying its function and significance.
What Is a Virtual Payment Address (VPA)?
A Virtual Payment Address, or VPA, is a unique identifier that UPI uses to simplify the process of sending and receiving payments. It eliminates the need for disclosing sensitive banking details, such as account numbers or IFSC codes, during a transaction. A VPA typically looks like an email address or username, with formats such as name@bank or mobile@upi.
The beauty of a VPA lies in its simplicity and security. By creating a personalized VPA, users link it directly to their bank account. Transactions can then be initiated using the VPA instead of traditional bank account details. This approach enhances privacy and minimizes the risk of fraud, making digital payments not only faster but also more secure.
How Does VPA Work in UPI?
VPA serves as the cornerstone for executing UPI transactions. Once a user registers for UPI through their bank’s mobile application, they create a VPA, which becomes their virtual identity in the UPI ecosystem. To transfer funds or receive payments, users simply share their VPA instead of disclosing account information.
Here’s how a typical UPI transaction with a VPA works:
Sender enters the recipient's VPA: Instead of entering long account numbers and IFSC codes, the sender just types in the recipient’s VPA.
Transaction authorization: The sender is prompted to authorize the transaction using their UPI PIN, a secure personal identification number that serves as a digital signature.
Funds transfer: The money is transferred in real time from the sender’s bank account to the recipient’s account, with the UPI system linking the VPA to the corresponding bank account in the background.
This simple yet powerful mechanism has streamlined digital payments, offering a frictionless experience for users who need to make instant transactions without cumbersome details.
The Benefits of Using VPA
The introduction of VPA in UPI has provided several advantages, transforming how individuals and businesses conduct financial transactions. Some key benefits include:
Enhanced Privacy: With VPA, users no longer need to share sensitive banking information like account numbers, thereby protecting themselves from potential fraud or phishing attacks.
Convenience: A VPA is easy to remember, unlike traditional banking details. Users can personalize their VPA, making it simple to recall and share with others for payments.
Real-Time Payments: UPI transactions linked to a VPA occur in real time. Whether it’s paying for a purchase or transferring funds, the money moves almost instantly, significantly reducing wait times.
Versatility: One can create multiple VPAs linked to the same bank account. This allows users to manage different payment contexts, such as separating personal and business transactions.
How to Create and Use a VPA
Creating a VPA is straightforward and typically involves the following steps:
Install a UPI-enabled app: Download a UPI-enabled app such as Google Pay, PhonePe, or your bank’s official app.
Register your mobile number: Ensure that your mobile number is linked to your bank account.
Set up a VPA: Create a unique VPA that you can use for future transactions. This VPA is linked directly to your bank account.
Set UPI PIN: You will be prompted to set a secure UPI PIN that will be used to authorize all transactions.
Start transacting: With your VPA set up, you can now initiate payments and receive funds effortlessly by sharing your VPA.
Security Features of VPA in UPI
While convenience is a significant advantage, security remains a top priority for VPA users. UPI’s multi-layered security system ensures that all transactions are encrypted and protected by two-factor authentication (2FA). The VPA itself serves as a mask for your bank details, reducing the likelihood of unauthorized access. Furthermore, the use of a UPI PIN ensures that only the account holder can approve transactions.
Conclusion
The VPA in UPI represents a groundbreaking shift in how we handle digital payments. By simplifying the payment process, enhancing privacy, and offering real-time fund transfers, VPA has become an essential tool for millions of users across India. As UPI continues to evolve, the use of VPA will undoubtedly play an even more prominent role in shaping the future of cashless transactions, making financial dealings faster, safer, and more user-friendly.

Digital Wallets, Real Threats: The Dark Side of Mobile Payments in India
Imagine paying for your chai with a simple tap of your phone. Convenient, right? Now imagine that same tap exposing your entire financial history. Welcome to the world of mobile payment privacy breaches – the hidden cost of digital convenience in India's booming fintech landscape.
Why I'm Losing Sleep Over This
As a digital innovation enthusiast, I'm both excited and concerned about India's mobile payment revolution. It's democratizing finance and driving financial inclusion, but it's also creating a treasure trove of sensitive data that's catching the eye of cybercriminals. It's like carrying your entire bank in your pocket – convenient, but oh so risky!
The Mobile Money Tsunami
India's love affair with mobile payments is reaching fever pitch:
Digital payments in India hit 8,840 crore transactions in FY 2021-22 (RBI, 2022).
UPI transactions alone crossed 9.36 billion in volume and ₹10.25 trillion in value in May 2023 (NPCI, 2023).
That's a lot of digital money changing hands – and a lot of data up for grabs!
The Sneaky Ways Your Transactions Betray You
How are these seemingly secure apps leaving you vulnerable? Let's follow the money trail:
Phishing on Steroids: Fake payment apps that look eerily real.
Man-in-the-Middle Attacks: Intercepting your data mid-transaction.
Malware Mayhem: Sneaky software that steals your credentials.
QR Code Quagmire: Scanning your way into a hacker's trap.
Who's Paying the Price?
When mobile payment privacy is compromised, the ripple effects are far-reaching:
Users: Your financial data and hard-earned money are at risk.
Businesses: Customer trust evaporates faster than you can say "digital India."
Banks and Fintech Companies: Reputational damage and regulatory nightmares await.
The Regulatory Tightrope
India's regulators are trying to keep up, but it's like chasing a bullet train on foot:
The RBI's guidelines on digital payments security are evolving, but implementation lags.
The proposed Personal Data Protection Bill aims to address fintech privacy, but it's still in the pipeline.
It's a bit like trying to build a railway track while the train is already moving!
Safeguarding Your Digital Rupees
Don't worry, you don't need to go back to carrying cash! Here's how to keep your digital money safe:
Stick to official apps – no matter how tempting that "special offer" looks.
Enable biometric authentication – your fingerprint is harder to fake than a password.
Use a separate bank account for digital transactions – limit your exposure.
Be wary of public Wi-Fi – that free internet could cost you dearly.
Keep your apps updated – those pesky updates often patch security holes.
The Bottom Line
As India races towards a cashless future, we need to make sure we're not leaving our financial privacy behind. Stay vigilant, stay informed, and remember – in the world of mobile payments, convenience should never come at the cost of security.
So, the next time you tap to pay, take a moment to appreciate the technology – and then double-check your privacy settings!
Stay safe, stay smart, and maybe think twice before linking your entire life to that shiny new payment app!

91Club Color Prediction Game: A Comprehensive Guide
Online gaming has witnessed a rapid surge in popularity, offering players an opportunity to blend entertainment with a dash of luck and strategy. One such emerging trend in this sphere is color prediction games. Among various platforms offering this genre, 91Club stands out as a prominent name. The 91Club Color Prediction Game has captured the attention of many enthusiasts, offering both excitement and opportunities for rewards. But what is this game, and how does it work? In this article, we’ll explore everything you need to know about the 91Club Color Prediction Game, from the basics of how to play, to strategies, features, and the platform's potential benefits.
What is the 91Club Color Prediction Game?
The 91Club Color Prediction Game is an online betting-style game where players predict the color that will appear in the upcoming round. This simple yet engaging concept allows players to place their bets on different colors, with the result determined by a random algorithm. It combines elements of luck, risk, and strategy, providing a thrilling gaming experience that can lead to real rewards.
The game is usually presented with a few color options, most commonly red, green, and blue, though there could be more options depending on the version you’re playing. Players are required to predict which color will appear next, place their wager, and then wait for the outcome to be revealed.
How to Play the 91Club Color Prediction Game
Getting started with the 91Club Color Prediction Game is easy. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you understand how to play:
Register on the Platform: First, you need to sign up on the 91Club platform. The registration process is straightforward—usually requiring an email address or phone number for verification.
Deposit Funds: To start placing bets, you’ll need to deposit funds into your account. This can typically be done through various payment methods supported by the platform, such as bank transfers, UPI, or digital wallets.
Choose a Color: Once your account is set up and funded, you can start playing by selecting one of the available colors. The common colors you can bet on are red, green, or blue. Each color may come with different odds, meaning the payout will vary depending on the color you choose.
Place Your Bet: After selecting your color, enter the amount you want to bet. There is usually a minimum and maximum betting limit, so be sure to check those before proceeding.
Wait for the Results: The game’s algorithm will then randomly select a color. If your prediction matches the outcome, you win the bet and receive a payout based on the odds. If not, you lose the amount you wagered.
Repeat or Withdraw: Players can choose to continue playing and place more bets or withdraw their winnings at any point, provided they meet the platform's withdrawal criteria.
Features of the 91Club Color Prediction Game
1. Simplicity One of the game’s major attractions is its simplicity. There are no complicated rules or strategies to learn. All you need is a bit of intuition, and you can start placing your bets. The interface is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that players of all experience levels can enjoy the game.
2. Fast-Paced Gameplay Unlike other online games that require long hours of play, the 91Club Color Prediction Game offers fast results. Each round lasts only a few seconds to a couple of minutes, allowing players to place multiple bets in a short period. This fast-paced nature ensures excitement and keeps players engaged.
3. Variety of Betting Options While the standard game revolves around three colors (red, green, and blue), some versions offer additional betting options. For example, some rounds may allow players to bet on two colors or predict other elements like a specific pattern of colors, adding more depth to the game.
4. Multiple Payment Options The platform supports various payment methods for both deposits and withdrawals. This flexibility allows players to choose a method that best suits their preferences, making it convenient for users from different regions.
5. Reward System The reward system is straightforward: the higher the odds of the color you bet on, the bigger the payout if you win. The platform also often runs promotional campaigns, offering bonuses and incentives for new and existing players, adding to the game’s appeal.
6. Safe and Secure 91Club ensures a secure and reliable gaming environment. With SSL encryption and various security protocols in place, players can be confident that their personal and financial information is protected. Additionally, the platform promotes responsible gaming practices, encouraging players to bet within their means.
Strategies for Playing the 91Club Color Prediction Game
Though the game primarily revolves around luck, some players employ strategies to enhance their chances of success. While no strategy can guarantee a win, these methods can help players make more informed decisions:
1. Bankroll Management One of the most important aspects of any betting game is managing your bankroll. Decide beforehand how much you are willing to risk and stick to that amount. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and don’t chase losses.
2. The Martingale Strategy This is a common betting strategy where players double their bet after each loss, with the hope that a win will recover all previous losses plus a small profit. While this can work in the short term, it carries significant risk if you hit a long losing streak.
3. Understanding the Odds Each color in the 91Club Color Prediction Game may come with different odds. The key to maximizing your potential payout is understanding how these odds work. Betting on a color with lower odds may increase your chances of winning but will result in smaller payouts, while betting on a color with higher odds carries more risk but offers a bigger reward.
4. Setting Limits It’s important to know when to stop. Set daily or weekly limits on how much you’re willing to wager, and take breaks if you find yourself getting too caught up in the game. This helps ensure that you maintain control over your betting and avoid the risk of excessive losses.
Is the 91Club Color Prediction Game Worth Playing?
The 91Club Color Prediction Game is a fun and thrilling way to engage in online betting. Its simple gameplay, fast results, and potential for rewards make it attractive to both casual and serious players. However, like any form of betting, it is essential to approach the game with caution and responsibility.
Pros of Playing the 91Club Color Prediction Game:
Easy to Play: Even if you are a beginner, the game is intuitive and easy to understand.
Quick Payouts: With each round lasting just a few moments, you can quickly win or lose and immediately play again.

Batch 2024 participates in 2-week off-campus internship
University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Batch 2024 completed their 2-week off-campus internship at various sites from February 12 to 23.
Part of the Grade 12 work program is the two-week off-campus internship which aims to apply the knowledge and skills they have obtained from Kindergarten to Grade 11, to experience a real-world work environment, to understand and explore the careers they may pursue in the future, and to develop proper attitudes regarding leadership structure, employee interactions, and professionalism.
Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Track
Grade 12 - Kalayaan, the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) track, had their work immersions at Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation, Interactive Children’s Literacy Program (ICLiP), M&P Creatives, and Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas. UP Diliman Information Office (DIO) and DZUP 1602, despite being within the UP campus, were also included as internship sites for the off-campus work immersion.
The sites offered internship tasks such as writing articles, creating scripts, designing social media posts and publicity materials, covering events, newscasting, hosting, observing and teaching classes, assisting video shoots, joining rehearsals, and participating in activities conducted by the sites.
Zaeda Wadi, a former UPDIO intern, shared some of the most important lessons she learned through her internship. “At the UP DIO, I learned that being attentive is such a helpful asset to have! Be it in article-writing, observing during programs, interacting with others, or following instructions, having a present mind makes things clearer—and easier. I also realized that there are various activities in UP Diliman that I can participate in! It opened more doors for me to venture that can set me on new experiences as a student and community member,” she stated.
Additionally, she talked about some of the discoveries she made through UP DIO. “UP DIO staff taught me that in the hustle of life, sharing conversations and laughs makes the office life bearable and memorable! I learned from their close bond how it is always nice, even essential, to check in daily wholesome chats with people we meet at the workplace,“ she shared.

Business and Entrepreneurship (BE) Track
Grade 12 - Kapayapaan, the Business and Entrepreneurship (BE) track, experienced working at Underdog Fitness PH, Revised Salon, Friuli Trattoria, Puff & Dough BakeLab, SGD Coffee, Street Kohi, Noki Japanese Fried Chicken, and Urban Chick for their off-campus internship.
Some of their work included taking orders from customers, cleaning and setting up the area, making orders and food products for the business, assisting in supply inventory, creating and designing social media posts, preparing financial reports, assisting in administrative-related tasks, and conducting market research.
Princess Tan, a former intern at Noki Japanese Fried Chicken, shared her thoughts on how different the off-campus internship is from completing regular coursework for classes. “The real world is less structured than the system in school. The tasks we had to do weren’t listed for us and weren’t taught to us from the very start to end. You are expected to learn the operations as you go through the work program. Additionally, mistakes would cost you more unlike in school where you’ll just get a deduction on your score,“ she said.

Applied Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Track
Grade 12 - Karangalan and Karunungan, the Applied Sciences and Engineering (ASE) track, held their internship programs at Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) - Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS), ADMU - Department of Electronics, Computer, and Communications Engineering (ECCE), ADMU - Department of Mathematics, Buri Technologies, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), DENR - Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), DOST - Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), LCI Envi Corporation, New Era General Hospital, Smile Studio Dental, and Wilson Hobby Studio.
Some specific tasks given by the sites consisted of conducting playtests, exploring and programming with Artificial Intelligence (AI), attending workshops and seminars, testing websites, creating courses on websites, performing Test Case Documentation, listing products and packaging of companies, managing and operating with information and cybersecurity, weather research and reporting, assisting in dental-related work, input and documentation of dental procedures and prices, assisting in tech support with 2D software, 3D printing, and attending discussions and seminars held by the sites.
Enjoce Lampa, a former intern at ADMU - Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS), shared the skills he was able to develop or enhance through his experience. “The skill I used the most during the internship was definitely my knowledge in programming. I think I already had pretty good programming [or] coding knowledge from my experiences but this internship further enhanced my skills because I was able to use it on a real project. I learned the Godot game engine and its native language, GDScript, to create our game and I think I will be using this knowledge more in the future,“ he stated.
