Y’all ever think about if Sora falls to darkness that inside his heart will look like the Destiny Islands falling again

#i do a lot #kingdom hearts #one of the biggest reasons i think we’ll see something like this in canon. briefly at least #not only would parallel ddd w ven’s heart/armor no longer there to protect sora #and roxas and xion gone from sora’s heart too. so sora would be alone #and actually there as opposed to in the RoL/awake when riku dives in #but also there is no way nomura’s gonna pass up the chance to bring us full circle like this. he loves making his characters revisit/relive #worlds and memories like this to make a point. and sora’s heart was sunset in ddd… following kh1 the dark and stormy night comes next #The thought of sora and riku reaffirming their love and friendship here when it broke the first time the islands fell #both of them having to in a way relive this horrible night for the final time #but riku doing the total opposite of last time. trying to save sora trying to stop the darkness from consuming everything #being totally honest with sora. reaching his hand out for sora but this time he’s not being consumed by darkness.#he’s become the light in the darkness. and they finally reach each other they finally grasp hands. I’m chewing on glass #i don’t think sora would ‘fall’ to darkness in the traditional sense #thematically i think it makes more sense for him to be faced w another martyr choice #though his own negative feelings would still be tangled up in there. and this would parallel kh3 #and if sora chooses to let darkness into his heart to save others it’d also parallel kh1 w riku choosing to open the door/let the darkness #into destiny islands at the risk of others #god it’d be just like kh1 but we’d be playing as riku and he’d be the one looking frantically for sora #a reversed dynamic. but now they understand each other’s pain and feelings so they can reach each other #figuratively and literally #i love parallels i love symbolism i love themes kick my ass !!!!

Last yap for now because I have to do so much shit today but I hope some day I can go back to my Ice Betty AU.

I've been thinking a lot about how she would have reacted to Marcy, I feel like Betty is at least initially the kind of person who fucking hates kids. Simon thought he was too, or at least that he was never equipped to be a parent, but he immediately turns into a dad once the situation calls for it.

Betty begins to feel weirdly threatened by Marcy's presence, as though this sick orphan toddler is going to usurp her position as Simon's favorite. Simon finally asks Betty what the fuck she's doing and as Betty begins to verbalize her insecurities, the realization that she's Becoming Her Mother hits her like a brick.

She spends the next week trying to be a fun mom for Marcy. Initially out of guilt and a need to overcompensate, but eventually just out of a fondness for this kid, who is really good at not being as annoying as she expected. They become total partners in crime, and Marcy learns a new bad word every day. It is beautiful.

THE REAL QUESTION. i could see a case for either. short hair is probably more convenient for hunting after all....

i think dean wears her hair long as a kid because it reminds john of mary. you could make the case that he'd cut her hair because it reminds him of mary too much, but i can't see it really, i think he'd want to preserve the innocence he sees in girlhood that he doesnt seem to in boyhood (a la that whole journal entry about wishing he had girls and how sons have to be soliders). continuing that, i cant actually really see her cutting her hair short at all because it ties her to her mother in her eyes. i think girl dean is like so obsessed with mary. can you imagine like. her whole life is about avenging mary and she's her daughter and the only girl in the family now. she has no adult female role models except her dead mother. she plays into being john (still loves cars and classic rock and wears flannel and leather jackets and is generally 'masculine') but she still sees herself as mary. john sees her as mary too even though he expects her to act exactly like him also. so i think she keeps her hair long. she probably has childhood memories of mary brushing it and wants to hold onto them. i think she likes it long, and i think john likes it long, and i think it reminds them both of mary, and i think they both like that.

sam? well sam is a lot less invested in playing the Role that's expected of him, so. girl sam is victim to levels of misogyny previously unthought of especially in the way where both john and dean see her as soooo weak and little and in need of protection. and they probably rely on the girl thing a lot to infantilise her. so i can totally see her cutting her hair off in a Fuck You to john at some point. tbh i reckon girl sam would have hair like canon sam's later season hair. though rly i can see anything with sam. also i feel like she'd have grown up with a shortish bob because it's easier maintenance (for dean john winchester is NOT bothered with looking after sams hair <3)

also both of those answers are in an au where one of them's raised a girl and the other isn't. but if we're talking total femchesters? john having two daughters? need to think on this more but im still leaning towards sam. i think girl dean commits to being a Girl the same way canon dean commits to being a Guy, even though both of them are shrouded in the same machismo. but sam fights any role hes given

#i totally hear what everyone is saying about the importance of queer guy/straight guy friendship rep #and the way society emotionally isolates men and discourages them from/punishes them for having emotionally intimate friendships with other #with other men. but also. this is not the buck and eddie show. and we have SEEN that on 911. we’ve seen close intimate male friendships #provide unconditional support through crises. we’ve seen chimney do it more times than i can count #(notably through bobby’s suicidality and buck learning about daniel)#we’ve seen buck and chimney through madney’s ppd (whether or not that support was perfect!!!)#we’ve seen michael and bobby through michael’s diagnosis and them finding a balance in raising the kids #we’ve seen eddie and bobby support each other as each other’s mirrors #idk i know this is the shipping website but sometimes i see people talk about this being why they don’t want canon buddie anymore and #it’s not that i am a buddie-or-bust guy (bc im a pessimist) but. it feels sometimes like we’re undervaluing the other male characters #and THEIR friendships and the ways THEY have supported each other #and the ways THEY have combatted toxic masculinity and patriarchy #anyway.

My thing is that I just do not trust a single person who was involved in the show. It just seems like a lot of PR to fix their image and foster sympathy/goodwill/interest.

#i haven't seen compelling evidence that anybody actually tried to fight for canon (and reciprocated) destiel #just admissions that they played into the subtext #(which we already knew - that's why spn's been considered a prime example of queerbaiting since like 2011)#and non-committal statements about the pairing being compelling #edlund seemed to specifically say he wasn't censored/forced to rework due to the gay #yeah misha said the cw's homophobic and suggested the network was the barrier #but at least half of what comes out of misha's mouth is bullshit #like he also said they tried to pay him to stay bisexual #and as a result there's now a bunch of support being tossed out to the writers and some fans are talking about them like they're heroes #who valliantly fought against a homophobic network and were totally going to make dean and cas a couple #but were foiled by said network which is why the show ended with the gays being buried yet again #you see in the secret unreleased version...#and if we just let jensen make another season he won't let us down because of xyz vague statements #nevermind that he made a new show where cas was also never mentioned - cw censorship #nevermind the straightwashed version of soldier boy he's playing - that's kripke's fault #nevermind the statements he's made in the past about destiel and dean's sexuality - he's changed his mind #you can tell because he's said it's okay for fans to have their own interpretations about the series #idk maybe i'm too cynical and i'm being unfair #there's just too much vagueness from pretty much everybody for me to put faith in their intentions #especially if they are seriously considering attempting to revive the series - this sort of thing is great for drumming up interest #the writers being censored by homophobic execs is a familiar narrative ofc - but i don't see anything solid to suggest this is what happened #and it's not like there weren't queer relationships on tv when spn was airing - the show ended in 2020 #it isn't even like there weren't queer relationships shown on the cw during spn's run - there were more than a few #i just have so many questions #spn #destiel

I’m sorry you all don’t like the alternate endings all of a sudden? Is having a debate about which ending we prefer bad? Is letting fans of both characters have a win bad? I’ve genuinely always thought it was a really neat thing.

every time i so much as think about that scene where light looks at porn magazines while scowling i go into hysterics its genuinely the funniest thing i've ever seen

#the funniest thing is is that i truly believe he thought he was being 100% convincing. that that's normal behavior for a completely straight #completely allosexual man #light is fucking awful and i hate him but also there's nuance to him. and sometimes i can get a little like. oh thinking about his life #before the series. specifically factoring in my headcanons about him being gay aroace and autistic and stuff. ppl have written some rlly #good fics surrounding those topics.... but yeah thats not even canon stuff but i dont care #anyways its not in a way of making excuses for how he is i just think it adds more to his character #hes total garbage but i think theres really interesting stuff with him when it comes to how he's.... VERY disconnected from others #just in general. he's like aware of how to act ''normal'' on like the most textbook surface level without being like. Aware enough to #be able to make it more convincing. and as ridiculous as it is i do see some of myself in him in that sense #also that person who said light and L is just autistic guy who's been masking his entire life vs autistic guy who's never masked in his #entire life.
