Why Are Their Designs So Complicated???

You thought Kaveh would be an easier character to draw. At a glance, his outfit is much simpler than a majority of the casts, so you thought he'd be a safe pick for fanart. How wrong you were.

Alhaitham watched from the sidelines, far away from where your camera was pointing, as you fawn over Kaveh. It had been a while since you came to Sumeru City for anything while you were playing, so his curiosity got the better of him. Though it was nice to hear you without needing to partake in all the labour inducing tasks you always force him to do, He could do without Kaveh looking so smug.

He suddenly hears you complain as you turn Kaveh to the right, making him finally take notice of his presence. He could see Kaveh wanted to say something, probably to gloat, but with you currently controlling him he couldn't risk anything. Kaveh still had this air of pride and arrogance surrounding him, and it was obvious he was trying to show him up. Alhaitham merely raises an eyebrow at him before quickly tuning into what you were saying.

"I should have thought this through more. Why didn't I inspect his outfit beforehand? This is painful."

Kaveh's face immediately fell before he quickly fixed his error and returned it neutral before you could notice. Though, Alhaitham could tell just looking at his eyes and the slight twitching of his fingers that Kaveh was anxious.

"Why's there a gold band on his thigh? There's no purpose for it, and I don't think that'd be comfortable to sit with. Why do so many characters just have bands on their thighs for no reason? To make drawing them take longer?"

Alhaitham continues to watch as you move Kaveh every which way, and he can see he's struggling to keep his composure.

"I-I don’t even want to draw his scarf, but he looks unfinished without it. How do I simplify this, so I don't want to die drawing more nonsensical detail."

"I just wanted to make fanart for Writing on the Wall, why do these characters have to be so complicated. His outfit looked so simple in comparison to everyone else, but now I just want to keel over."

Kaveh looked like he was about to pass out, and it's quite a shock that you haven't noticed how not normal he's currently acting. Your blindness is currently acting in their favour, though, so while you're distracted he'll try to signal to Kaveh to get a hold of himself-

"Thank God, I think I'm done sketching his outfit. Kaveh I love you so much, To the moon and back, but I'm never drawing you again. No one knows what he was in for, and he sure as fuck doesn't tell anyone about it, but he's big and he's mean so he quickly builds a reputation of do NOT fuck with this person

The club owner loves him because Sukuna can and will fuck someone up and everyone is scared of him, including the dancers

There's significantly less bullshit happening at the club and the owner doesn't have to worry about Sukuna hooking up with the "merchandise"

You're pretty, friendly, and a great dancer who makes it a point to say hi and offer snacks and drinks to the big, scary bouncer that no one else will go near

The rumors about him don't bother you cause you're working at a seedy, back-alley strip-club?? Of course the bouncer has probably done time??

Sukuna doesn't care about you all that much when you first meet

He tries to scare you away but you keep. coming. back. so he thinks fuck it, it's been a while so he might as well have some fun

He teases you, watches you dance, touches you sometimes

You blow him kisses on stage and wink at him when you're taking someone in the back for a private dance

At some point, one of your clients gets too handsy, you're trying to get away, but he won't let and you get hurt

You scream and here comes the bouncer from the top rope!!!

Sukuna is there in seconds, beating this man to a pulp while the other dancers are trying to pull you away to the dressing room

He doesn't stop until the man is nearly unrecognizable, looking back to find the other dancers cowering and he fully expects to see you doing the same

But you're not?

You're shocked and concerned obviously, but he wipes his mouth and smears blood across his lips and you're so incredibly turned on

To everyone's surprise, including your own, you're reaching out to run your thumb over his bloody lips

He's staring at you and you're staring at him and the club owner is yelling at you two to get the hell out while he takes care of this mess

Sukuna's got an arm around your waist almost dragging you outside with the promise of taking you back to his place while you’re licking a trail down the side of his neck

You barely make it to his surprisingly nice? car before he's tossing you in the backseat and having his way with you

You spend the next day lounging naked around his surprisingly nice? apartment

When you're both allowed back at the club without the owner getting pissed off at seeing Sukuna, he drives you and walks you in and the other dancers are asking about what happened? Are you two together? Is the dick good? Are the rumors about him true?

And you don't answer because you don't really know

You and Sukuna never talk about what your relationship is, but you're at his place most of the time, and he’s always around you at the club being touchy and not letting anyone near you, and you’re getting fucked within an inch of your life almost every night so you’re not complaining

After a few months, you get reprimanded by the club owner because you stop getting asked for private dances since Sukuna scares the fuck out of anyone who goes near you

You complain to Sukuna about it, and he does not give a single fuck - no one else is touching you and you have to deal with it

You go to bed without letting him touch you just to piss him off and avoid him during your next shift

You don't see him much, but you're told someone's requested a private dance from you specifically, so you take it partially because you have to, but also to spite him

It's been a while so you're prepared to put👏🏼on👏🏼a👏🏼show👏🏼 until you go into the room and find your stubborn asshole of a maybe-boyfriend lounging back with his legs spread wide and that shit-eating smirk on his face

You almost leave, but decide it would be better to give him the performance of the century instead

He goes to put his hands on your hips and nope! you bat his hands away because he knows the rules - he's allowed to look but not touch

You don't get very far into the dance before he gets frustrated and pinning you and fucking you up against the door

It becomes a routine after that

Sukuna gets one (1) private dance from you every shift, you spend an extra hour-ish fucking in the room, and somehow the owner doesn't complain

You're flabbergasted. Absolutely befuddled. Because why is he paying??? We have lap dances at home???

He gets offended because are you implying he's so cheap he can’t even pay his girl to dance for him (even though that’s not your point)

That’s when you discover that your sleazy strip-club really is a front from some nefarious dealings, and Sukuna not only gets paid under the table, he gets paid well

You're stupefied, but also a little turned on because he called you his girl!!! That's the first time that's happened and oops! now you're on your knees and his hand is in your hair ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You meet his family by accident when you run into his brother and little nephew while grocery shopping

You're looking for ingredients to make hangover meals when a little pink-haired boy shrieks and latches on to Sukuna's legs rambling about look dad!! it's his cool uncle with all the marker on him!!!

Jin is a little sheepish, but invites you both over for dinner while Sukuna peels Yuji off of him

It takes a week and lots of sex to convince Sukuna to go and another week of the same to convince him not to just show up, say hi, and leave

Dinner is okay. You meet Jin's unsettling wife and his grumpy father. Yuji is absolutely obsessed with you and you are with him because he's a mini you, Sukuna!!! How cute!!!

Jin and Wasuke make a few snide remarks about Sukuna and Sukuna wastes no time firing back

It's tense and leads to a blow up argument where you're warned to stay away from Sukuna for your own safety as Sukuna's pulling you out of the house

There's a tense car ride and, after a lot of questioning about why you wouldn't be safe with him, an even more tense talk at home where you learn about why Sukuna went to prison

Drug possession, resisting arrest, assault of an officer barely scratches the surface

There's some breaking and entering, grand theft auto, and a dash of mass property damage in there and that's only because there wasn't enough evidence to prove he committed the various murder charges aimed at him

Apparently he has a great fucking lawyer because he only did a few years before being let out early on "good behavior"

He used to babysit Yuji (which he says wasn’t completely annoying) but now everyone acts like he’s gonna snap the kid’s neck or something

If there was any neck he was gonna snap, it would be Jin’s or the "old bastard’s"

You know you should be worried - you should definitely leave - but he tells you about the people he killed and they weren't innocent or good people so what do you really have to be worried about?

Yeah, he's kinda possessive, but he treats you well (in his own asshole-ish way) and the sex is mind-blowing

It's not rational or reasonable in any way with red flags slapping you in the face, but...you really like him...

So, you stay.

And you really hope you won't come to regret that decision.

Let's talk about Caelum.

I'm gonna preface this with saying that everyone is entitled to their opinions, and if once you're done reading this you decide you don't want to follow me or you want to block me, that's completely up to you. I'm not trying to change your opinion or attack anyone who has a different one than mine, I just wanted to put my two cents out there.

I also wanted to say that whatever your opinion on the matter is, it's yours and yours alone, and you should respect the opinions of other people even if they don't match up. I personally do not sexualize Caelum, but I do think he is an adult with childlike characteristics, and those two statements are not mutually exclusive. He can be an adult, but he also doesnt have to be put in adult situations.

It's okay to have strong feelings one way or the other about this topic, but it is not okay to harass people or go on a witch hunt for those with the opposite opinion to give them shit about what they think. If you disagree with someone and do not want to see their stuff on your timeline, just block them or scroll away. You alone are responsible for your own dash, you cannot make other people responsible for what you see on your timeline.

All that being said, I do not like how the fandom treats Caelum and Empathy Daemons in general.

My stance on the matter is that Empathy Daemons as a whole are adults, but because of how E'Laetum created them, they tend to have childlike characteristics. Those who say that Empathy Daemons are ALL children blatantly ignore the fact that Regulus is an Empathy Daemon as well, and that he has been shown to have adult tendancies (his BA, getting possessive over his charge, etc) while also maintaining his childlike characteristics (telling his charge a bedtime story to sleep, having a very one dimensional view of himself and his charge, etc). This is where I have a problem whenever I see people try to say that all Empathy Daemons are children. Regulus is clearly an adult. There is no "reading between the lines" about this.

Caelum is also an Empathy Daemon, but he is a very different character than Regulus. He is a lot more childlike compared to Regulus. He gets his words mixed up, he likes sweets, he likes hugs, etc. But in his most recent video (Your Bakadere Empathy Daemon Friend Visits You), even he says that he almost went down a path similar to Regulus' until Delphinus stepped in and assigned him to Freelancer, and that stopped him from falling (timestamps from 2:40 - 3:18, and 8:45 in that video). It may be uncomfortable for some people to think of Caelum as going down the same path that Regulus did, but this video clearly shows that he had the potential to. Caelum and Regulus are not as different as one may think.

Erik has also said himself that D(a)emons step out of the Elision Well as adults and they do not age. Of course they don't know everything so they still have to learn, but that's not the same as being a child. On top of the most recent Redacted 101 video, take this screenshot from Wonderworld (previously Redacted Records, when Erik was still in the server) from 2020, where Erik talks about how D(a)emons coalesce.

He even mentions how in earlier Caelum videos he didn't know what he wanted the d(a)emon life cycle to be yet, and that's why he had Caelum state that he was a "kid daemon" at one point.

Not to mention the fact that in the official timeline, it shows that Caelum coalesced in 1999, and is even older than Damien.

At the end of the day, Caelum is a fictional character. Whatever someone ends up deciding to make of him is their choice, this is a fandom after all. If it really bothers you to see what certain people make, block them and move on. DO NOT berate them for their headcanons or fanart or whatever else. People are allowed to have their own headcanons, make their own fics, and draw their own fanart. This is a fandom space, and people are allowed their creative liberties.

Anyways, that has been my two cents. Feel free to voice your opinions in the comments if u want to, but please please be respectful and don't attack anyone.

TLDR; I don't sexualize Caelum but I do think he and all Empathy Daemons are adults (ex: Regulus), everyone should respect everyone else's opinions and just block what they don't want to see on their timelines, and the fandom needs to chill out lol

Okay, so, I know a lot of people were discouraged after the LMK S5 trailer. The art is different, yes, but remember there are still people working behind the screen; passionate about this story they're trying to tell. I'm realizing while doing this that Wildbrain doesn't use as many smear frames as Flying Bark did. As funny as it is to pause and see something like this in season 1-4:

It makes the animation look a LOT smoother and more energetic. Flying Bark also seems to use more frame-by-frame while Wildbrain probably uses more tweening. I suppose it makes sense though because Wildbrain is more used to 3D animation and the 2D animation they have done in the past is more paper-doll-like and doesn't need as much bounce and action.

i'm thinking about pl and—like always—i get emotional after anything regarding this series. these stories. the ebb and flow of cherished laughs and pained expressions, the give and take of funny dialogues and heartbreaking reveals. when the end credits songs just wash over the entire experience with additional thoughts (usually angst-y in my case). when you've realized the story you just witnessed and the story that you felt apart of will stay with you for times that seem ephemerally immemorial...

these games don't show happiness and sadness. they don't show the positives and negatives of how a scene should flow. they don't just have dialogue and action and tone and intonations. 

they have perseverance amidst tragedy, the rose within the thorn, the sun within the bleak clouds. they show that everyone in this series is human. they somehow made me feel—and not in some type of pity way—for those npcs who were stuck on what i thought was the easiest puzzle in the world. there was no humiliation, no real sense of judgement. there was respect and patience and... and there was disappointment, only in one's self. there was no invalidity of emotions. yes, there were invalid actions, but i don't have a single memory of anyone saying another character was stupid for feeling a certain way. there was passive acceptance all around and across the series, there was no stuck-up sounding laughter; no one (to my memory) ever called another stupid for messing up.

and hershel layton is one of the most human characters i have ever seen. 

i saw a fanart that consisted of hershel in different stages of life. it made me emotional, because: 

in each stage of his life that was depicted there… it wasn't growing up. it wasn't milestones of age, it wasn't certain accomplishments in his character. it showed each time he has lost someone. and god does it break my heart to see and realize that he. is still. here. the amount of pain PL characters have gone through just breaks my heart.

and i am so glad and so honestly inspired to know that. and i feel so awful for thinking my problems are bad when i look at the greatest person to ever exist in media ever, who was shaped by traumas far beyond my own. and that is not an understatement: i genuinely believe professor hershel layton is my favorite character in any media. because he and his games tell you that there is more to life than pain. and it is a lesson that i am so glad that i can finally see someone else tell.

miracle mask and unwound future are two of my favorite games because they're the games that tell the audience that he is human. it reveals how he despises—he loathes, he hates—… not emotions. no, not sadness, not regret, not remorse, not disappointment, not pain. no, none of that. 

he hates certain parts of himself. he hates how he dealt with grief. he hates it when he's shown with "proof" that he's gone and done the very thing he swore not to ever do. he doesn't even hate anyone else even though he has so much right to. he should've cussed out bronev off screen. he should've yelled at bill hawks. he shouldn't of saved clive but god what did he do. he saved clive. he saved randall. 

oh, how love is a weapon. this is it. this is one of the greatest examples of how love is a weapon in storytelling. it's not even platonic love between the characters, its the love the audience has for the characters. stories like these twist this and they do it well. but, anyway—

when i was younger, i thought hershel layton was foolish. i thought he was stupid. i used to think: "what is he doing? someone hurts him, why doesn't he want to hurt them back? what's wrong with him that he doesn't want revenge?"

i couldn't of been more... wrong about how he sees the world.

no, he's the one of the greatest persons i've ever seen in media. i've learned so much from him and the PL series as a whole. i've learned something from each and every character. [what i learned from bronev and bill hawks is just to not be them.] 

layton is the kindest person i've seen. there is no earned malice anywhere near him. he doesn't purposefully aggravate others. he isn't mean, he's not one you'd call angry. he's patient and understanding, and he was made from pain. 

if every person was at least a little bit like him, i think the world would be a better place. a place where no one has to be made from pain.

I am not exactly entirely good with character or relationship analysis (A reason why my dumb fox head is aroace because I am not good w/ navigating romantic relationships)

So this is just my best effort writing the dynamic Q! Philza and Q! Missa have.

I do like to headcanon, like others, that Philza is indeed aroace, but not in a way, that like he doesn't understand what platonic or romantic means. Sure, it's funny to tease Philza about it, but it's also true that close friends could very much do so. I think Philza is quite aware of what is romantic and platonic, he knows the boundaries of it. I mean Philza is literally married to the Goddess of Death (implied) Kristin. It's more or less that Philza doesn't simply care for such labels. (I very much hc that Philza could probably be genderfluid, like me- Peeposmile)

It's something Philza even mentioned in the live stream when talking about the deities in hardcore world. It's something they don't care about and just vibe with whatever they're vibing with. They don't care and I think Philza is the same in that mindset. He just doesn't care, and will be blunt about it, if he needs to actually talk about it.

Philza seems to deeply cherish those that are ... similar to himself from what I can tell. I don't fully watch Fit or other POV to get a clear understanding of Phil's relationship w/ others so I'm sorry if I don't include them, same with Technoblade. I've recently started watching mcyt again and I don't want to talk about something I don't have a full understanding of.

Anyways, Phil deeply connects with those that share similar traits to him in some regard. Techno whose the Blood God, who clearly has an understanding of death, war and loyalty and this clearly shows via Missa too. Missa, while not a fighter, does understand death and how important it is... He literally is a gentle grim reaper. Anyways, we know how much Phil values such loyalty that, I cannot remember what Tubbo said, but he immediately locked Tubbo out of his own home because of what he said about someone and while despite implied flings with others. Philza never spoke about others the way he speaks about Missa.

Their relationship definitely...crosses the line of platonic and romantic. I can see why it would be considered queer platonic relationship, but also at the same time, it's like there is some line being breached which makes everyone raise an eyebrow cause sir, what do you mean platonic-

Philza is clearly...possessive over Missa, because the way he got so defensive when Bagi mentions Antoine (right?) and Missa should date. Philza didn't have to get so defensive, because Missa already immediately denied. Philza could have kissed anyone else, like Fit, but chose Missa instead. He even demanded Tall Missa to the admins, got jealous over any shipping fanart and acts like he's fine and doesn't miss Missa at all. *Coughs in* "I'm going to f*cking off myself. Did Missa log on again?!" (Side eye Philza)

Like he's done lots of things that makes everyone just raise an eyebrow- Philza is fooling no one but himself (& Missa)

I also enjoy the lore Missa has going on with accepting that he is indeed a part of the family and isn't alone. Missa had just lost Spreen, and suddenly, he had no one but the Angel of Death as his assigned partner. Missa must have felt so unmatched compared to Philza because what could he even offer to the family? He had nothing but his music and kind words, which is everyone that Death Family wanted. Missa brought a different change to the family that makes them be vulnerable, to not be so serious all the time and to actually just relax and be like a family that's just on vacation.

I mean, and just talking about loyalty and kindness. Missa never gave up... He fought his way back, despite getting taken away by wolves and suddenly Badboyhalo being so cruel. He always made sure his family was safe and always brought something for them.

Didn't Missa say he got lost because he tried to find a gift for Philza?! Like...the commitment to find a perfect gift for Philza, and still returning (sure, without the gift). While it's hilarious, Missa doesn't run away because of his wet cat behavior. He runs away because he doesn't want to put his family in danger, he cannot fight as well as others can. He relies on others to fight for him and then he jumps in to help, but because the time zone doesn't allow such things. Missa is forced to run.

And Missa is good at it. He will run as far as he can, if it means his family will be safe. He isn't running away from his family, but the danger because at the end of it all, he will return back to his family, no matter how long it takes.

And Missa casually admitted to Chayanne that he needs Philza more than he realized, the same way Philza realizes he needed Missa but didn't dare admit, whether it is out of fear or something else that he couldn't voice it. But Philza clearly showed it through his actions, that he brought/dragged Missa to Rose's Sanctuary before they went to sleep forever. He didn't have to do so, but he did... indicating their bond is much deeper because Rose's Sanctuary is literally a pocket dimension that no one cannot access.

Missa has access. Now he sleeps eternally with his family...

Also their whole dynamic just being Sun/Moon. Fated to never see each other at times, until an eclipse and yet...they still leave signs to let the other know that they're still remembered. This also brought to my attention how Missa is afraid of the sky, while Philza yearns for the sky/to fly.

You think The Sun (Philza) misses the Moon (Missa) so much, because of how far they are, instead of just not seeing each other. The Moon clings to Earth, because they're afraid to go beyond...to something unknown while the Sun cannot stay still, and yearns to burn and be free.

So I'm a lurker who [re]joined tumblr not to long ago after deleting my account years ago (not a twitter migrant, i've never even used twitter. just got severe harassment for being aspec during the height of exclusionist discourse and moved to lurking on reddit).

Now I have a very bad memory so I forgot about the bot problem entirely. At first so I followed like 300+ blogs with default profile pic and everything. The whole shebang. Now I'm doing a lot better with not lurking, though I still only reblog art. None of it has been remotely controversial to my knowledge. In fact at first it was only fanart of one specific character so I don't thing this is a controversial ship thing either

During the aforementioned initial period of only reblogging art of my blorbo (am I using that correctly?) I was checking out a blog I wanted to follow and I see blorbo fanart. It was very well done and I wanted to see what other art was made by OP but when I clicked on their blog tumblr said the blog didn't exist. Some googling later and I learned that meant I had been blocked.

At the time I discovered I was blocked, it should be noted I had 0% discourse, and had never talked to anyone on this site anyways. Just pictures of a character OP of the art had drawn. So as far as I know they don't have any reason to block me other than looking like a bot initially. Which I know is on me of course, but if this can be rectified I'd like to do so... although anyone can block for any reason of course.

But let's say hypothetically I reached out in spite of the block. I think I'd have to make another account or ask someone else to message the artist for me. So let's say I do the latter, AITA for trying to clear up this misunderstanding? The artist, in spite of it likely being misunderstanding, still went through the effort to block me

You know, I thought we were done with the ageism in fandom thinking that its purely for teenagers? Because it doesn't help anyone to have the attitude of this (now blocked) anon. People don't stop having passions and being fans of things just because they get older. Fandoms thrive BECAUSE older people put in the effort to MAKE them thrive. Do you really think that 100k word perfectly written epic fanfic that you adore so much was written by a 16 year old? Because I guarantee it was more likely to be written by a 35 year old mother of 2.

That amazing cosplay of your fave character you saw at a recent comic con that took phenomenal skill and probably a good deal of expense to look perfect wasn't put together by a 17 year old high schooler, it was perfected through years of passion into a hobby that more than likely required a full time job and a savings account to afford.

That amazing fanartist who has the BEST art of your OTP that captures their likeness in a really gorgeous style? They weren't born with that talent. It takes years to develop a personal art style, and capturing a persons likeness in art is a skill that has to be nurtured. The best artists are the ones who've had years to develop their skills. They aren't school kids. I have had mutuals on this site for a decade now and I have seen how much their art has improved and become absolutely beloved. These are people who at their youngest are in their late 20s now. Most of my mutuals are in their 30s, some of the best fanfiction writers I know are in their 40s and 50s. The meta writers I know are also in my age group. Hell, do you think teenagers run AO3? You'll be surprised just how many "old people" make the best fanworks. If you removed them from fandom spaces, I guarantee you would remove most of the talent, because no offence to you kids, but that talent is something that is nurtured over time, and time and aging go hand in hand i'm afraid.

The people who make fandoms what it is, the ones running events, pouring themselves into analytical posts, providing the best fanart, coming up with the amusing memes and textposts that go viral? Do you REALLY think they are all school kids? Fandoms are made up of PEOPLE, and newsflash assholes, people AGE.

This attitude always amazes me. There isn't an age limit in fandom. This isn't fucking Logan's Run (bet you the kids won't understand that reference) and honestly if these kids genuinely think they need to give it up and quit at a certain point in their future I just pity them.

Fandom thrives because of the older people that have nurtured it for years and carved out a space where younger people can enter in comfort and safety. Which are only possible BECAUSE older people built online fandoms and continued to put in the work to keep them going. If we all had to stop caring and leave fandom at some specific cut off date, the fandom landscape would be a vastly different space - and probably a lot worse for being predominantly run by hormonal teenagers - heh, I guess it would be a lot more like TikTok and we all know how dreadful TikTok has been for fandom so far. If nothing else that alone proves my point.

At the end of the day, no one can stop the passing of time. Even the horrible children who send adults nasty anons. Eventually, they will be the "fandom elders" and receiving their own anon hate from a future generation of brats, I personally can't wait to be the very old lady laughing at them when that day inevitably comes.

Hi, it's me again. No shit. So. It's been like a month since the whole drama unfolded and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I know things have quieted down lately, and like many others, I wish we could all move on and forget this ever happened. However, I can't simply recover from it, mainly because I feel the posts about me continue to spread on this platform, radiating the negativity and false info about me to this day. This drama has been devouring me for a long time now, and I've decided to make another post. I gotta admit I haven't been 100% honest in my previous post, it was more of my attempt to back off, cry over it and avoid this drama. But I'm not doing that again. I'm done pretending and I'm tired of being nice and tolerating others when they're completely misguided. I'm fucking angry. That's why I decided to make one more post about this and I have so many things to say. This is not another apology post, think of it as a vent post and recap explanation of everything where I'll be brutally honest.

Also, if anyone of you is a Nazi supporter, get the fuck out. I do not welcome you here.

First of all, I do not understand why my efforts have been ignored. I did everything that was asked of me. I acknowledged my so-called ''mistakes'', I owned up to them, deleted the posts, apologized, explained my intentions, and you decide to just fucking ignore it?? What do you want from me then, huh? I'm not the ignorant here, you are fucking ignorants. Made me realize I actually haven't done anything wrong. Made me wonder if I should've even deleted those posts, I put a lot of effort into them, and some people actually liked them. It's not my fault some of you are sensitive and brainwashed by censorship culture and you can't accept or understand a canon-accurate depiction of characters. You think I've been sweeping something under the rug? No. In fact, it's the opposite. You've been sweeping this whole shit under the rug by dismissing me as a Nazi supporter, just because I drew something that was considered canon for so many years. I've done nothing wrong, I've been honest about my art the entire time. I draw what I enjoy and what is accurate to the lore. I love history and the Slenderverse, and I draw canon-accurate content, yet you get mad over it. It's so ridiculous. If this post can't open your fucking eyes, I don't know what else will, and frankly I don't care anymore. I'm done with this shit. I've acted like the adult I am, and took responsibility. However I'm not going to to point any fingers or dismiss anyone specifically, because I am not like this.

And to everyone: If you don't like something, just ignore it. But if it really seems problematic and malicious, why not contact the person directly and talk it out, or find ways to know their true intentions instead of making hundreds of hate-posts about them like some pissy children. This is such a toxic behavior.

About the whole Nazi stuff:

Don't get me wrong. Nazism is a sensitive topic, I understand that. But I think being offended by it right now, in the 21st century, is just so ridiculous to me. I understand it can get very annoying tho. They talk about WW2 and the Austrian painter on TV non-stop. But being offended by some art? Like, are you serious. Do you realize Nazi shit has been in so many fanfiction, stories and literature for so many years, and you have no reason to get offended by it? The Nazi concept has been used in so many media, whether just for a joke or a serious plot point. South Park, Family Guy, Indiana Jones, Marvel Universe, X-Men, The Boys, and God knows what else.. Would you get offended by a fanart of cute little fat boy Eric Cartman? Of course not. But I can easily say: ''He's a Nazi! You drew a cute fanart of him! You're a Nazi supporter!'' That's you. That's how you sound. Do you see how ridiculous that is? There are thousands of people shipping him with Kyle Broflovski, oh but he's a Jew, and they hate each other in the show. Yet there are artists who make ship art of them. Does anyone complain? At the end of the day, they're just fictional characters, and I rather ignore it even if it kinda annoys me. Btw, South Park is just an example of this issue, I'm not targeting anyone or anything specifically here.

That quote seemed really harsh, I know. Was it bad humor? Yeah.. But do I regret drawing this? At this point, I must say no. I did not stutter. As I said, I will be brutally honest from now on. Do you think HABIT wouldn't say that? Do you think he wouldn't say something sexual to a Jewish person, or frankly to anyone really? Yes, he would!! It's in his nature, he's fucked up. Are we trynna ignore the fucking scene of HABIT pulling the jerk off gesture at Noah?? Did we all not see the same thing?? He is like this. He makes fun of him while adding Christmas decorated borders on a letter for him. He's aware Noah is Jewish, yet he pulls a sexual gesture at him. Don't try to deny this one.

About the symbols... From what I've just said, I drew the little symbols there next to them (Star of David and Hakenkreuz) because I wanted people to see and realize the fact that these two guys are a Jew and a (former) Nazi, which people have been sweeping under the rug, not me. Also, if anyone remembers the post I made, I believe I wrote ''I should have put Christmas borders there as well/jk.'' under it or something like that. I removed it later on because people didn't seem to get it. It was obviously a reference to Severance. Everything I draw is a fucking reference. That being said, this post was made for awareness, not romanticization, and I do not ship them, neither romantically nor platonically, I just really like drawing them together, because if their iconic trope, canon interactions, mutual respect and shared spite for Slenderman, and the fact that HABIT helped Noah many times. That's it. Also, I wouldn't ship HABIT with anyone romantically. That is just wrong in so many levels.

Canyouseethewords blog and Sebastian's Journal:

If you didn't grasp the point of the Josef Mengele post either, go read Canyouseethewords blog here on Tumblr. It's part of the EMH lore. Basically, this blog belonged to Evan's girlfriend Stephanie, but HABIT takes over the blog later on and makes various posts about infamous real serial killers, such as Ed Gein, Jack the Ripper, and even the Nazi doctor, Josef Mengele. Whether HABIT wanted to imply that he's possessed those various people, that part of lore remains silent. At some point, I believed he's possessed those various people, so I wanted to to draw one of them, and I chose to draw Josef simply because I liked the idea of the connection with him and The Event from T12. That's it. And if that weren't the case that he's possessed any of those people, which would be rather a big relief, he's still possessed a different Nazi character in T12, which has been retconned. A character that no one really seems to know of, which is understandable. I get that some people don't want to analyze and support T12 anymore after what Adam did. In all honesty, I think sometimes it's best to separate the creator from the creation. I hate Adam, but I love T12. Anyway, in the story of Sebastian's Journal is a guy named Sergeant Heine who is (or was supposed to be) possessed by HABIT at some point. It implies to Severance where HABIT said he's been working with a group of Nazis on a particular project, including Sebastian. However, that connection has been retconned.

The HABIT/Nazi lore shit, people keep complaining and pissing about for no reason:

Listen, it was part of the lore for so many years that it's difficult to simply ignore it now. As someone who's been part of the Slenderverse fandom for years, going back, I just cannot think of it as a non-canon at this point. And I've already said the point of HABIT's character, and you all should know this by now. However I'll clarify it again anyways. The point is that he's an abomination of all the horrific actions humanity has committed, including atrocities of Nazism. He's done so many bad shit, as if eating a baby on screen wasn't enough, yet, of all the things he's done, people get mad over him being a former Nazi?? Like are you kidding me.. It's so ridiculous and hypocritical.

However... When I think about it, maybe HABIT was never even a Nazi, I mean- Working with them is one thing. He probably doesn't even give a single fuck about some ideology bullshit. He likely participated in the Nazi party purely for the sake of killing people. He wouldn't care less if his victims were Jews, Romani, or anyone else, he simply enjoys killing people for the sake of torture. Heck, he doesn't even remember the name of the party he was in. In Severance, he stuttered when trying to say ''Nazis'', which, in my opinion, was funny as hell. But that one is just an idea of his character.

Anyway. Even if HABIT wasn't a former Nazi at all, would it change anything? Absolutely not. He would still be the same horrible piece of shit he is. And sorry not sorry, but he was never meant to be a likable character. As a well-written antagonist, yes. But as a person? Hell no, so far from it. There is literally no reason for people to get mad over him being a former Nazi, and if you are, it's hypocritical of you, considering everything else he's done.

I must say one more thing, and it's the only thing I'm truly sorry for is that I didn't put content warnings and explanations on those posts. I made people angry unnecessarily for my impulsive actions.

A Lackadaisy Victory!! (A LackaVictory!) :)

In less than an hour, Lackadaisy exceeded it's 125K goal on Backerkit on the first day. In that same first day, we've already funded 500K, half of that last Million Dollar goal. In five days, we reached 900K. Last night while I was sleeping, we managed to fund the full ONE MILLION!!! And, along with all of these Backerkit goals being reached, the Lackadaisy Pilot on YouTube reached 10 MILLION views!

Think about that! Over one Million Dollars, in just 8 days! Half of a million on the first day. That's extraordinary! Thank you to everyone who has been working on Lackadaisy. Tracy, Newt, Fable. All of the voice actors. Every single sound designer. Every clean up artist. Every storyboard artist. The violinist who played Rocky's violin parts! Every musician. Everybody else who had a contribution to the series in some way, thank you!

Thank you to the fans who were able to back the project. Thank you to those who may not be able to back the project, your support still matters!

The Lackadaisy community is by far one of the best communities and fandoms I've been a part of. Everyone is so kind, nice, and welcoming to everyone. Whether you've been here since the comics, or since the pilot came out (I'm this one!), or anywhere in between, we've all come together for the silly booze cats and a great time. Seeing all the Lackadaisy fanart, LackaOcs, fanfiction, all of it, makes me so happy! It's nice to see such a big and heartwarming community. There's a place for everyone, and everyone is so kind to each other. Seeing every theory and discussion makes me giddy with joy, because who knows what could happen next?

Every person who loves a certain character to a certain degree of insanity normality (Don't worry, I'm guilty of this too!), and finds comfort in them, it's so nice to see people finding comfort in something as great as Lackadaisy. Whether you love the poetic Rocky, the stoic Mordecai, the baby boy baby Freckle, the ecstatic flapper Ivy, the dynamic duo Savoys, or anyone else, I love being able to see how these characters make everyone feel good.

And that's just how great the community is. I haven't talked about Lackadaisy itself!

When I read the Lackadaisy comics, or (re)watch the pilot, it's clear that a lot of love has been put into making Lackadaisy what it is. Each character feels so real, their personalities are so in depth, you feel as if you can find someone with their same personality in the real world. I knew a guy who was almost exactly like Mordecai! And the character's backstories make you/me want to cry and give them a little hug. Everything is so in-depth, and well thought out about.

The time and research Tracy must have done to also make Lackadaisy historically accurate is amazing. I love reading the comic on the website (Lackadaisy.com) and seeing the little notes at the bottom of every part in the little box thing that may explain some 1920s slang, or something that people may not get right away. I've personally learned quite a bit about this time period thanks to Lackadaisy, and I have even done some extra research myself.

And the art. Oh, the art and graphics! Lackadaisy's art style, both in the comics and the pilot, have inspired me a lot in my own art. Studying the style and drawings of silly little booze cats have helped me improve quite a bit.

The story is so intuitive, and in the comics, I love how we can see a bit about each character, whether it be through flash backs or retellings (Like when the Savoys tell Mordecai about them). When you reach a comic chapter that doesn't include a certain character, you wonder "What's going on with them right now?". Lackadaisy's story is easily something that makes you want more.

Usually, when I get into a fandom, I tend to stay for maybe a month or less, then drift off. I don't know why, perhaps I just don't connect with it. But, Lackadaisy is one of the few that I really connect with. The community is one of the reasons I connect with this fandom. I've made so many friends and mutuals through Lackadaisy. It's also nice to see how Tracy and so many people who worked on Lackadaisy look through the Lackadaisy tag and like people's posts, it means a lot to fans like me!

I've had a fixation on the 1900s-1960's for quite some time, maybe since 4th/5th grade. I've seen a few fandoms that wrap around anywhere in that time period, but Lackadaisy is the first to go all in with this period. That's another reason I stay.

And overall, I love the booze cats! I love them all!! Especially Mordecai!! Mordy my beloved!

So, thank you to everyone ever! I can't wait to see something great! I'm really happy to see that Lackadaisy has a bright future!! :) <3

Fandom Engagement, Insecurity, and Connection

I've been wanting to pose this question for awhile now, and that is:

This is something that has plagued me for years. The moment I start creating writing fic for a fandom, that's the same moment I can't read anyone else's fic and have to limit the comic/fanarts I look at. I judge myself so harshly in comparison to others, beating myself up by thinking, "Why couldn't you come up with an idea like that? Everything good has already been done and done better, so why even bother? You'll never be as good as them. You'll never have your stuff liked as much as theirs."

And on and on.

I'm recognizing this is a trauma response, and my brain is trying to protect me from a threat rather than focus on enjoyment. I have yet to discover what the threat is. But what I think it's leading to is connection and the feeling of belonging.

My therapist shared something from a book on autism that autistic people (and ND in general, I believe) experience a particularly powerful energy transfer between themselves and someone they share a common interest with. It's deeper than other connections, and that's been so true for me. I don't really have many people I connect with who share the same interests as me (i.e. the same fandoms). And it feels so lonely.

The reason this is coming about so strongly again and why I'm shaming myself so hard is because my newest hyperfixation is Hazbin Hotel (You can never plan for them, can you? They just happen😅 ). I read two fics and LOVED them. Wanted to find fanart. And I was loving getting the chance to finally engage with content because I had no intention of joining the fandom to contribute.

And then I did. And everything shifted.

Even though the evidence is there that people enjoy what I've written so far for Hazbin, the insecurities are roaring to where I'm ready to throw in the towel, burn it all down, and tell myself "Why do you think you're special? Why do you think people would want to read your stuff? Look how many more likes and comments that author/artist has. You'll never be that good."

So I'd love to know if anyone has experienced this as a creator, and if you're fundamentally looking for connection too. And I'd love to know if it happens more in ND individuals.
