it's been pointed out on here before that a lot of terf arguments are actually rooted in sexist idealology that feminists fought and died to unnormalise decades ago and that's its own kettle of fish but one thing i also find very frustrating about this so called 'radical' feminism is that it's so... defeatist? like the moment you categorically label an entire section of society as Bad and Inherently Evil then there's also the implication that nothing can be done about it, and it completely takes all accountability away. saying all men are evil is just another way of saying boys will be boys. he raped her because he's a man. he hit her because he's a man. he didn't listen because he's a man - it's almost offensively oversimplified. there's no point trying to fix this issue in society because men are just Like That, okay! so now what? it's not like they're going anywhere, so you just accept that 50% of the population are evil and will forever treat you terribly and there's nothing to be done about it bc they're biologically predisposed to it? like is that fr the argument here? you're soooo radical for that

it has been so long since I've had to learn how to live with a new person (because I've lived with only Joe for ten years and now his partner lives with us) that my brain thinks I am 12 years old and tiptoeing around my parents so they don't yell at or hit me and that is an Extremely stressful way to live in your own house especially when you don't go out that often

The union definitely has An Interest In Branding #But again. Orphanage burning was A Thing That Happened #And ofc there's the meta view of like... What are the bad guys ideals? Are they only evil bc they're extreme? And I try 2 keep that in mind #But like the Shadow Decree is kinda... Just full of selfish people. Ofc some ppl are more sympathetic but all of them Are Selfish #Honestly Bonnie is like the only one who stands out to me as like... Yeah the union failed her community and she's rightfully mad #Most of the others lost like. I just watched the season 3 premiere and it only reinforced my probably controversial take:

amity barely qualifies as a character anymore. that girl is made of cardboard and prayers, and the fact that she keeps getting shoved to the front of the narrative because she is The Girlfriend only further accentuates the fact that there's straight up Nothing going on with her outside of her romance subplot. by contrast, willow and gus continue to be the most charismatic supporting characters, who have to share whatever table scraps of screentime are left over after the plot relevant characters are done talking, since neither of them have had a consistent reason to be on screen since season 1

imho in a better world, amity, willow and gus would have been boiled down to two supporting characters - luz's shy, standoffish upperclass love interest with a complicated family life who eventually stands up for herself and becomes bold and spunky, and luz' one roguish weirdo outcast friend who stood by her since the beginning. the two characters could easily have played out amity and willow's troubled history with one another while they were at it. with only two characters for the writers to keep track of instead of three, the writers might even have been able to give the platonic relationship proper attention and development, and the love interest character could have actually been fun to watch when she was on her own, instead of giving luz one really boring girlfriend who has no personality outside of the relationship and two really likeable but really underdeveloped "best friends" that she never gets any screentime with.

owl house is really cute and I really respect what it's trying to do but I would have killed to see a show with this much budget and talent on board written by people who can write

been thinking a lot about ben's wasted potential as a character lately

#i love him so much but nobody ever seems to know what to do with him #they literally wrote him off bc he just wasn't working. but he could have!#he was the first unabashedly working class main character! he had an interesting skillset and backstory that could have gone places!#and they just didn't do anything with him #and that's extended to most of what i've seen of the eu #like he's never totally dead weight i'm always glad he's there. but he very rarely gets to be at the centre of the plot #off the top of my head the only ones i can think of are like. the macra terror and the forsaken #both of those stories do really interesting things with him and i wish more would follow suit!#in particular i'm mad that elliot chapman was SO good at playing him in audio and they did NOTHING with him before he left the role #i don't even think he ever got a dedicated companion chronicles story #they had a chance to finally do him justice and thry fumbled it #i respect his decision to not play him for longer than michael craze did #(even tho i've heard speculation that his departure had more to do with the james dreyfus situation)#but i wish bf had done more with him while they had him #and it's always been odd to me that he and polly are tied so closely together but he gets a fraction of the attention she does #even in mediums where there would be no need to recast him!#don't get me wrong i love polly i just wish he got a slice of that pie #i've slowly evolved from ''eh he's alright'' to the number one ben jackson defender SOMEBODY needs to show my boy some love #dw #my posts

Personally as someone who also has a hard time deciphering people's "emotional morse code", I really liked that after that Tyler just said his feelings or whatever was on his mind no matter if it was valid or immature or not because he knew Wednesday would prefer to have the confrontation then the passive aggressive bullshit. Ive always appreciated emotional honesty over trying to not cus a strife, and I love that after that talk he never makes Wednesday decipher his thoughts he just says them, a brave and compassionate act people constantly look over but can't even commit themselves half the time out of fear of vulnerability and rejection.

dude ive been like hella depressed over how my teachers and adults treated me like shit or were hard on me as a kid or had no sympathy for me not because there was something wrong with me but because they were racist
