So I saw a post on Instagram, and it said:

‘Isn't it funny how James Potter decided to bully and harass a malnourished little boy from an abusive family just for existing, and years later, James' son became a malnourished little boy from an abusive family that bullies him just for existing’ 

And all the comments were agreeing and saying things like, ‘Karma’, ‘Glad I’m a James Potter hater’, ‘Don’t understand how he has even one fan’

And I was like… what??? Was so tempted to write a whole thing about it but decided the hate I’d get wasn’t worth it. What are your opinions about this?

That's my initial reaction.

Don't these people know that the sins of the father shall not be visited upon the son?

It's not karma for Harry to suffer for James' mistakes. It's bullshit and I hope that no one that believes that has ever done anything wrong in their lives or their kids shall suffer. AND THERE"S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS BS.

Now, let's point out how else they're wrong.

First of all, I had to re-read the Prince's Tale - and mind you, I did skim it so I could've missed things, but there is NO WHERE that says he was 'malnourished' as a boy. Not a single description said anything was physically wrong with Snape like malnourishment. It talks about his mismatched clothes, and his parents arguing. There's a line about James having an 'air of well-cared for - ness that Snape lacked' but there's NOTHING that he states he was malnourished or even abused.

So that's utter BS. I won't argue about the abuse, but there was no evidence that he was malnourished.

As for the about "just for existing" - I think a lot of people forget that SWM canonically happens *after* James saves Snape's life from Werewolf Remus. The reason that it's easy to figure that out is there is a scene with Snape/Lily arguing about the MM thing and she literally mentions James saving him the other night.

The next scene is SWM.

Now, before get into that importance - I want to point out that in the scene about MM & the saving of Snape, Lily asks, "Why are you so obsessed with them?" and if it was a relentlessly unfair bullying situation there's two obvious answers:

A) he's been bullying me for years

B) I have to obsess so I can get one over on them.

He doesn't say either of those things - you know what he *does* say - he says "Potter fancies you"... and more about 'how great he thinks he is'.... isn't that rather suspicious?

You know what's also suspicious? If Snape's being relentlessly bullied than WHY DOESN"T HIS BEST FRIEND KNOW THE OBVIOUS? Maybe because it wasn't a situation of bully/victim - maybe it was a rivalry like Dumbledore suggested in the first book.

Now, back to the timeline:

So James saves his life and yet says "it's the fact that he exists" - which sounds terrible, right?

Of course it does, but here's the thing - Snape had literally as recently possibly two weeks previously (we don't know *exactly* when but sometime between Nov of 5th year and OWLs) had attempted to (at best) OUT Remus (at worst) KILL Remus - who is ONE of James' BFFs. Now - on top of that - we know that Snape has been obsessed with a theory for ages about Remus. We see this in the MM & Saving conversation - Lily says "I know your theory" with the air of someone that has heard his theories before. Given that he only found out *for sure* within a few days of that conversation that suggests that he has been going after Remus for a while.

So, here we have Snape's attempt to get Remus out or killed and James has every reason to hate him - he's a loyal guy. He believes in his friendships so much it cost his life and literally learned something that could put him behind bars *just to help his friend*. Whatever happened, however it happened, that doesn't matter to James.

What *does* matter is that Snape tried to detrimentally hurt his friend. So he has a reason, but in SWM, he literally *can't* say that. He would be outing Remus and he's not going to do that.

Which means he NEVER did anything *just because he exists* - he had a reason, he just couldn't say it.

Now, why does James have fans?

Because he's a good man. This is the man that did stupid shit when he was a teen, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad, but nothing he did was ever on par with the things that Snape was doing - I've got a while post on that.

After he grows up, he joins the Order - to do good for people that he doesn't have to care about, yet does. He does so much good, he becomes a target. In that, he then goes on to give his life for wife and son. And they think this man doesn't deserve fans? What Bullshit is this??

ANYWAY, my longass point here is that: They're idiots, and I kind of wish that some people had more thought into the situation. James deserves better.

Pavitr Prabhakar -or Pavi, as you often call him- has been your bff since childhood.

Stuck at the hip, running around doing mischeif and pleading your parents to allow just 5 more minutes playtime.. Oh, those were the days! A chuckle slips your lips when you remember that even as a child, he was proud of his hair.

You remember vividly, back when you guys first met. Pavitr's hair was wild and curly and all over the place, bouncing with his every step. It was physically untamable for him. He was fussing with it and you, having watched him for quite a while, offered to help him keep it in place with a messy pigtail and putting all your hairclips on him. It didn't help much but little Pavitr had been very grateful, a big smile pulled across his face.

That was in kindergarten.

Growing up, you became the closest of friends -and the most chaotic. There was no one in school who hadn't heard of the infamous micheif-makers, the prankster pair. Prank wars 24/7 and very concerning to the school board.  It was even more hectic when they tried to put you guys in different sections to discipline you. You threw a tantrum, he spilled food everywhere as all the other kids joined in; it was sort of a mutiny you guys had started. The headmistress then decided it was best for everyone to not separate you two and let you guys be in the same class thereon on the condition that there will be no more horsing around.

Things finally went back to normal and all was going well.. until your parents got a transfer.

You remember that day, when your parents said you were going to move. Initially, you had been over the moon, not knowing that it meant leaving Pavitr for good. God, you were so naive. But when it finally  dawned on you that this is where your friendship will possibly end, you ran to his house and cried to him. Pavitr shared your sentiment; he loved as much as you loved him and separating you guys just was wrong.

Whenever there's something scary at night or if he hears weird sounds that frighten him, Pavitr used to hide under the bed until it goes away. He suggested you do the same. So there you both were, crouching  under his tiny bed and staying there sharing stories and whatever 11 year olds talk about.

Uncle Bhim did find you soon enough and called your worried parents. A lot of kicking and screaming and yelling 'I don't wanna goooooooo!' while your parents dragged your naughty butt to the new home, practically ripping your hand away from Pav's.

It had been a bit too dramatic, now that you think about it, though a little funny too.

Pav had been crying for a week after you left, just like you, and every night for a month, Uncle Bhim would let him call you and speak. Then school began, and you drifted apart.

You stepped out of the airport and raised a finger, calling for a taxi.

It's been 10 years now. A decade since you and Pavi last saw each other in person. Sure, you stay in touch via video calls and social media but nothing beats physical connection.

You've graduated and found a new internship at your dream company that requires you to stay in Mumbattan. What else do you need? To say you were happy would be an understatement.

Dropping your things at your own apartment, you take the cab straight to Maya auntie's as he's still staying here to take care of her. (Hope she still likes pranks!)

The elderly woman is the first to greet you, full of joy, her aged eyes shining with tears of sentiment. "Oh, mera beta!"

You let her wrap you in her embrace and hug you close. Maya auntie shares your tears, giving a moment of respectful silence to Uncle Bhim. It's hard to digest his death when you loved him like your own father.

After pleasantries are exchanged, you're about to ask about him when doubt creeps upon you. Sure, you've talked a lot but.. Does he still feel the same way about you, or is it the version of you in his head? Does he still value your friendship like before? Or were you just a passing cloud? A chapter in his book? Just a childhood memory and nothing more?

But most importantly, has he found someone else more worthy of his time?

Maya auntie, always as perceptive as ever, sees the hesitation in your eyes and encourages you to give him a surprise, assuring you that, of course, nothing is more important to him than your friendship.

With renewed confidence, you walk into Pavitr's room. He isn't there but you hear the water running. Assuming he's taking a bath, you take your time to look around the room.

The sky blue wall is a bit faded but it brings you happy memories. Same big old window from which you used to watch the city. Books, books and more books, some kind of gadget and a- is that spandex!? A Halloween costume, perhaps.

A framed picture is sitting on his desk, of your childhood selves holding hands, your front teeth missing, standing before Pavitr's apartment. It was the first time you had come over. Aww!

The cot is certainly larger than last time and you hide a chuckle when you think if you both can fit under this one.

Actually.... didn't Maya aunty talk about surprise?

Giggling like the mischievous child still inside you, you crawl under the bed. What you expected is to not fit under it, what you didn't expect is a red and blue hand-painted shoe box filled with little trinkets.

The lid is open, so you're not actually intruding on his privacy.. (Right?)

The box is filled with shiny stuff and upon inspecting one, you realise these are the same gifts that you gave Pavitr a decade ago. He.. he still cherishes them? Your heart swells.

A glittery red paper heart catches your eye but you don't remember giving it to him. Sloppy cursive runs in gold glitter:

"I threw my plans all away So that I could hear you say You love me, yes, you want me The sight of you lit me up Could not believe my luck Now I know where I need to be Home is where you are

I miss you meri jaan 💔 "

It takes a moment before you realise it's from him. He'd written it to you before you moved but never actually came around to giving it.

Oh, oh God, Pavitr loves you!

Tears of joy gislten in your eyes. You did have a similar thought once,  but dismissed as soon as it came. You would never believe if someone told you Pav had had feelings for you. And seemingly, still does.

A greeting card falls out, a dried rose attached to it. It was written on last Valentines day:

"A little birdie told me you wished for a Knight in shining armour. Now that I'm here, what are your other two wishes, meri jaan? ;P"

Wet thuds sound and you look up -wincing from the bump to your head- to see Pavitr come out of the bathroom, towel-drying his curly hair and dripping water everywhere.

"Looking swag as always, Pav!", he says, making finger guns to his reflection, flaunting his amazing hair as he runs a hand through his damp curls. And, wow, it's grown longer!

The moment you try to scare him from under the bed, he stiffens and turns around cautiously. Grabbing a cricket bat, he curls his other hand into a mudra. (Is he going to spiritualize you to the death??)

"Who is it? Whoever you are, better come out or else-!"

"Or else, you'll crouch under the bed?"

He drops the cricket bat, frozen in pleasant shock.

You're struck speechless too, lost in his eyes. Wow, Pavitr has.. grown. He's so very handsome, much more than you remember. You gasp softly, mesmerized by his beauty.

"O-Oh my god, N/N?!"

He engulfs you in an embrace, hugging to tight to his chest. His wet cheek rests cool against your warm skin, so close you can smell his shampoo. "Ah, I can't believe it! Meri jaan, is it really you? H-how-?"

"A little birdie told me you wished for a Knight in shining armour. Now that I'm here, what are your other two wishes.. meri jaan?"

It takes him less than a second to realise you'd read his card. "Oh God, you read that!?" He blushes terribly, pressing his face into the crook of your neck as he stumbles over his words. It's cute to see him flustered.

The laughter dies but your smile stays.

"Y/n", his breath is hot in your ear, "may I.."

Your heart beat quickens, stuttering with every stretching moment. Every breath you take is growing heavy.

"Yes..?"

Your noses touch. He's close, so close..

Suddenly, he twirls you around and begins to sing:

"The sight of you lit me up Could not believe my luck Now I know where I need to be Home is where you are!"

Once you recover, you try to hit him in the chest for playing you like that, but he's quicker. You giggle, laughter erupting from your throat as he hugs you from behind, pecking your cheek like he used to do all those years ago as you sing along.

It may be unspoken, but it exists. He's never forgotten, nor have you.

"Now I know where I need to be Home is where you are!"

alright now we’ve got. headcanons but exclusively pre-neverseen era:

- he had freckles as a kid because i say so (and then they got really light as a young adult .like most people wouldn’t have noticed them if they weren’t paying attention. doesn’t rlly have any now tho.)

- gem on councillor circlet was red sunstone because… i don’t know man it just seems so obvious. red? obvious. SUNstone? obvious (sun=everblaze).

- he was besties with bronte and fallon vacker when he was a councillor because i think it would be funny. world’s worst bff squad.

- ^^ and can’t forget about him and bronte millennia-long situationship (it’s real guys trust me)

- the reason luzia vacker hates him so much is bc one of the pyrokinetics that died during the everblaze incident was her gf 😔🤚 (we never see orem’s dad so i’m just assuming she got divorced LMAO) (oh yeah & i’ve got actual designs for a couple of those pyrokinetics help)

- after the pyrokinesis ban he would sometimes go to cold/snowy places to re-center himself just because there was less heat and therefore would be harder to lose control…. but present-day he hates the cold obviously

- & he deffff considered k!lling himself after the accident bc like. how do you even deal with the guilt of that bro 😭 he was probably so disgusted with himself that he was the one who survived that

jazz and beau can be recurring antagonists with their own gang that being dark parallels to tc's gang. teehee.

trixie from the first movie can be a recurring character too but only if shes an irredeemable antagonist in jazz's gang. the rest of jazz's gang consists of pantera from top cat begins, rocky from the comics, and skratch gets to exist separate from spook.

i guess griswald could be recurring since he had two eps and in the comics there was a recurring antagonist who was a bulldog but i dont care enough about griswald to expand on that idea

It's funny you mention Irma because that reveal is in the chapter I have been procrastinating 😅.

I did go back and fourth on Casey knowing, and I'm going to say Casey does know as does Irma.

But April does not.

Irma, Casey and April are all friends. Casey and April both know about the turtles.

Irma does not but will.

Casey was casually hacking the Krangs database, because he was bored and found their files on Irma.

Irma's parents were scientists who made contact with the Krang. They had a deal, tech for info on earth.

Irma as a kid got into an accident, the Krang saved her and she became a cyborg. Her parents didn't well to this, were killed and the Krang raised her.

Irma eventually ran away and has been hiding in New York ever since. She found out about the turtles, Casey and April from the Rat King incident.

Casey and her were in a cage together after all and she saw the fight go down.

Casey cornered her afterwards, afraid for the safety of his friends. Both spilled their secrets and have swore to protect each other.

They are afraid to tell the truth incase they're shunned for it.

I do love the idea of Casey helping Irma "be more human." Luckily she's surronded by April and Casey who are bizzare by human standards so no one bats an eye.

Irma has kept her knowledge of the turtles a secret. She knows the Krang are involved but she's been afraid to get involved.

That is until the invasion happens.

It's not caused by her finding the lair though, it's April instead.

Oh her and Donnie will become friends, she will befriend the rest of the turtles.... But not for a while.

Leo is immediately distrusful of a stranger in the lair, especially when said stranger was involved with the Krang.

But April's trust and Irma joining in the fight does help that, if a little.

April's just like you're both idiots and I love you.

I do need science bros Donnie, Casey and Irma yesss. You've given me the motivation to finish this chapter, thank you 💜

Posted the final chapter of the big fic for the stb-bingo!

And for those of you who read it I have some notes on What Happens Next (too long for ao3):

- Howard dies out of alcoholism-related illnesses. He almost feels remorse at the end and tries to leave SI to Tony, but Tony says suck it, and Stane gets the company. (Maria and Tony reconcile! She likes James!) In 2008 Stane orchestrates the kidnapping to make Tony create better weapons (he doesn’t have anything really good after Howard’s death). Tony’s guilt ridden because he thinks making the choice to leave SI in Stane’s hands was the reason Bad Things happened. He creates Iron man. The kidnapping itself is less than 3 months, though. Tony introduces very alive Yinsen to his very angry husband. Fun times for everyone.

- Coulson is still on the job during im! Everyone at SHIELD thinks it’s a shitty job because they think nobody’s getting anything from Tony. There are not a lot of people who remember Agent Barnes’s time at SHIELD, tho. Coulson has a tea party with his two good friends (he is Phil from 5th chapter!! He and Tony are friends now!). Easiest job he’s ever done.

- Vanko and Hammer trying to kill Tony: 🔫 James: 🔫 🔫 🔫 Tony: babe pls stop apprehending my enemies before I do anything it’s embarrassing James: you are SICK go TO BED

- oh yeah Pepper is there, her and Tony are bros! her and James are also bros! she also is the ceo of Stark Resilient from the almost beginning because Tony needed a business person for when it’s all too tiring.

- also Nat isn’t there cause Coulson wants another tea party with his friends. He lies to Fury about that (I think it’s very funny if Fury doesn’t know. Like nobody really knows, it’s been a while since James worked there and his identity was on a need to know basis. Coulson needed to know because he started as James’s secretary). He gets a heavy bonus after. Tony makes him play double agent and steal any stuff that Howard left there because there might be some info on a potential new element. 

- the avengers movie is basically the same, but with more old married couple bickering

- Tony: met your bff, he’s a dick and we almost killed each other. James: oh, it went well? Tony: … James: I know you both. The fact that everyone is alive is a blessing.

- Coulson: I suggest we make him the leader of the team. Fury: is that the fucking winter soldier? why the fuck would we do that? Coulson: he’s the only one who can make both Stark and Rogers behave. Tony: yeah that’s true. James: Phil :( I want to be a househusband :( why are you all like this :(

- James becomes the leader of the avengers. mostly it’s running around with a broom to hit everyone who’s being stupid and self-sacrificial and yell TONY NO! STEVE NO!

- for im3 I have two options: 1) it doesn’t happen at all because Tony’s not a dick in 1999 2) it happens but they kidnap James. It ends very very quickly.

- no cap2 because James and Peggy ended hydra way earlier! Steve and Sam just jog together for a long time. Sam eventually becomes a part of the team but it's a very awkward process because Steve doesn’t know how to make friends normally.

- no aou because I don’t like that movie. also JARVIS is alive.

- civil war is Tony and Steve yelling at each other about responsibility sitting in the kitchen while James cooks dinner for him. At the end he makes them both eat and go to bed then looks at the camera with a vibe of a kindergarten teacher. 

- they beat thanos in like a second. just your usual friday.

- at some point winteriron adopt a ton of kids and retire. only after that Tony makes like a tweet with the ‘oh yeah we’ve been married since the 90s’. it breaks the internet.

Loualph is the only thing I actually fully ship, I just feel like they complete each other really well. It's a chef's kiss, 💋 though that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing others and haven't thought about them.

I think Charlie x any of the other Kopaits can be cute (Charlie with D especially. I love seeing people's different interpretations of that scraped character.)

…But If I'm being honest with y'all there is a reason I haven't been able to ship Charlie. So- if Olimar wasn't already happily married I'd ship him with Charlie LOL. I just feel like it could be a very quality couple. Look, If they became close they could share each other's passion and become unstoppable! They will be rival bff lovers… One of my fav kinds of ships. They would constantly be building each other up whether if its intentionally with comforting each other or unintentionally from having their silly who is the better captain bickering.

Also since Olimar is apparently terrified of rubber duckies. I could imagine them having some deeply overly dramatic and emotional moment where Charlie is getting him to hold his rubber duckie for the first time. Meanwhile you just see Louie in the background questioning both of their sanity. (Chaotic gay ships just bring me so much joy I'm sorry my tastes are complete shit *sobs*…)

basically what I'm gathering from this is that I wanna ship Charlie with Olimar… but Olimar is a married man with a family so I don't- why am I like this frick. I love Olimar so much I just wish his wife actually had a personality and name, also had her own design not just Olimar's clone with makeup. Even more than his wife though I really wanna see more of his kids c'mon Pikmin!

Also I think it'd be funny and cute to find Shacho someone (I know he's married too but off of what I've seen the "happily" part is missing)

Little Mermaid Remake Thoughts

Hey there Mermaid fans,

So I saw the remake of the Little Mermaid opening weekend! As a black woman and a 90s kid I was ready to show up and support this film! I’m glad I did!!! Overall I think this movie keeps its head above water!! It’s certainly above C level (sea level) lol. But that being said some things just didn’t work for me.

This is a review/rant so SPOILERS AHEAD

Highs:

1: Halle!!! Halle did an awesome job as Ariel (we knew she would slay) her representation matters. I grew up with the little mermaid she was always one of my favorite Disney princesses and I totally related to her spirit of adventure and fun as a kid. Now a new generation of black girls may relate to how she looks. I can’t wait to see the sisters that will be rocking mermaid locs in the future🧜🏾‍♀️!

2. Melissa McCarthy: loved he as Ursula!!! She was so funny and good in this role!! Ursula has always been 1 of my favorite Disney villains!! She’s wickedly fun!! She’s a diva and I always wanted to play her. It was something new for Melissa but she handled it well.

3. Overall diversity: from the daughters of Triton to the islanders it was good to see a wide range of people from various backgrounds. This gave me more nostalgic 90s feels and reminded me of another 90s kid favorite of mine…Gullah Gullah island.

Ok so overall the movie was good, but the things that didn’t work for me really did work for me!

Lows:

1. Look of the animals: the animals were just too realistic looking. It’s a movie with talking animals (not realistic) so don’t force realism on their features, it’s so much more fun when the animated characters can emote in animated ways!!

2. New songs: I Love Lin Manuel Miranda!!! Love you, Lin, but those new songs just didn’t really add anything to the story. Scuttlebutt though a true showcase of Lin’s lyrical style was not timed right. I think it would have been a better introduction song to the character of Scuttle, but being placed right before the climax was awkward timing at best.

3. ERIC: this is my biggest gripe with the remake. They really messed with Eric’s character. My bff’s favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid as such her favorite Disney prince is Eric. Let’s face it Prince Eric was the original hot prince, now that being said. I always had some good-natured ribbing on my part toward her as I used to tease her as to how could Eric be her favorite Prince he is sleep most of the movie??? Lolol

I guess Disney felt this was a flaw in Eric’s character as well and they wanted to flesh out Eric’s character more, but fleshing out for them became changing/watering down the character. Eric’s character (when conscious) was young, fun, energetic, rugged, brave, strong and gentle. This new Eric is missing some of these defining traits instead he comes across as a controlled, lonely, mama’s boy who really doesn’t have any real strengths showcased.

This, I think is done for modern audiences it’s a very PC move for 2023. Don’t have a male character have many strengths less a female character look weak, but a strong woman is a strong woman no matter what a man is doing!!! In the original version of the movie Eric is an expert sailor, a young prince whose parents a presumably dead. He is still taken care of by his servants and perhaps can’t take the title King without being married. His manservant wants him to get married, but Eric wants to be married for Love. This could have been fleshed out in the remake. Why is Eric so interested in getting married for Love?? maybe Eric has fond memories of his parents romance or maybe the opposite. What was lacking in the last relationship that Eric didn’t feel it was a true love match?

Another key moment about Eric’s character is that he rescues those he cares about. He pulls his struggling manservant from the water when the ship is on fire and he goes back for his dog, Max. He’s so concerned about Max he’s willing to risk his own life. This is one of the qualities Ariel sees and finds attractive about Eric, but we’ll come back to that.

In the new version, Eric is given a mother. It’s unnecessary, why does Eric need a mother? His servants functioned as low key parental figures in the original and that was suffice. The truth is many people grow up without parents and or don’t have much contact with parents as adults. Why is that a problem for children to see? Eric is given a mother who possesses the same traits as Triton overprotective and somewhat overbearing. Eric is given a mother figure to slap his wrists and make him a more passive and less independent person. Showing that he and Ariel have more in common. Why is it necessary, that both Eric and Ariel have over protective parents?? But why do they need to have that in common?? Many people fall in love with people who grow up in different ways then they did. To me on screen a relationship is more dynamic when characters share differences, but overcome them and learn to take on different perspectives. Eric and Ariel essentially become the same character with no defining differences. This isn’t a more fleshed out Eric with his own backstory, motivations and character traits this is just an Eric who is just like Ariel.

Lastly, Ariel’s big moment to rescue Eric at the end really diminished Eric’s character. Eric’s character has no opportunity to shine as an expert sailor. One could argue that in this version he is not an expert sailor, but he also is not allowed to shine as a person who is heroic and brave which were essential elements to his original character. Again going back to the original, rescuing those he loves is how Eric shows love and care (remember him rescuing Max and the man servant) by having Ariel deal the death blow we lose that from Eric. Eric has already been rescued by Eric when he’s drowning, Eric is essentially rescued when Vanessa’s spell is broken. This final act is the moment when Eric shows his love for Ariel and we lose it. It is also the moment when Triton sees a human as capable of loving a mermaid and protecting the ocean. It helps to allow Triton to let go of his prejudices. Overall Eric needs a moment in the movie to show his character strengths and he doesn’t get that moment. Leaving me to wonder if Eric has any strengths. What is Eric really good at as a person in this movie?? Ariel can still be a boss and Eric can still have a moment of showcased strength.

If Ariel had to deal the death blow in the end perhaps it would have been because Eric taught her how to steer a ship, but the whole idea of Ariel knowing how to steer a ship is a little far fetched. Again in most relationships each partner will have their own areas of strength that one partner may need to rely on. one partner may be good at handling finances another may be good at planning events, one may love to cook one may love to do yard work. One partner may always be on time another partner may always be willing to lend a hand to those in need, but the point is everyone has something they bring to the table and should be allowed to shine in that area. Eric as an iconic Disney prince was not given the opportunity to showcase any areas of strength that were different from Ariel’s. That to me weakens the love story and character. At one point it just became pretty laughable to me that Ariel even helps Eric row the boat. He couldn’t even get that moment to himself. Lololol. Poor Eric in this movie he needs help to do everything.

But anyways the movie is good even if Eric has been essentially diminished down to a nonentity.

I always aim to enjoy the manhwa I find, be it through favourite tropes or recommendations from others. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out. And it felt kind of weird to group these together in the recommendations list so I decided to make a separate one for those that I ended up not quite liking, or even DNF-ed.

Of course, preferences are subjective so what didn’t work out for me might not be the same for someone else. Honestly, sometimes I’ve found books I enjoy through other people’s DNFs. Also, sometimes certain series start out slow and get better later on so this is also for me to keep track of some I might want to go back to in the future. Maybe.

So this is the list of meh to total DNF.

I totally DNF-ed these  Some might get a second attempt if I ever run out of other manhwa (lol) or if someone tells me a spoiler that compels me to pick up the title again. Many are totally not my thing, too boring or I read up on spoilers and I didn’t like where it was going/the ending. Not gonna even take the time to write a whole post for these so I’ll just hide them behind the cut.

A Match made in Mana Crimson Karma Ironically, would have preferred this if they focused more on the FL’s character development and less on the romance, which felt a bit too forced and fast-paced. Wish it had developed better because I don’t mind the dynamic of the main pairing. Dragon Raising Manual I actually quite like the main pairing but didn’t really enjoy where the plot was going.  Kill the Villainess I enjoy the isekaied-person-just-wants-to-unalive-to-escape premise but the actual plot was just really boring so I didn’t want to continue. Little Rabbit and the Big Bad Leopard Marriage and Sword Just got bored. My BFF is a Tyrant in Training It just...got really boring My Boyfriend is a God Read because it’s on Manta. ngl, kinda cringe instead of funny.  My Dear Maid! Another one from Manta. Got so bored and I have no interest in the main couple. From spoilers I’ve seen on Reddit, it got a really rushed ending after being cancelled so yikes. My Hubby is Too Cute! I don’t mind a cliche but it wasn’t interesting enough. Also the mature-brain-in-a-kid’s-body FL started drooling over the ML’s dad abs and like that’s a nope from me dawg.  No More Turning a Blind Eye Love a good revenge-on-the-cheating-husband plot but, again, boring, and kind of dumb The Evil Cinderella needs a Villain [ complete] From what I remember, this was just dumb. And not in an entertaining way. The Fake Lady and her Rabbit Duke The Tyrant Husband has Changed The Tyrant’s Secret Secretary The Villainess Needs her Tyrant Once again, love a good revenge plot. But the 2 leads were crazy, not in a very attractive way, and even with the official translations I didn’t understand wtf they were thinking. Also the faces were just forever =.= Love a good yandere but this was just boring.

3 OTPs:

I honestly don't really ship any of the characters in the Sonic series. Don't really know why, but I've never really felt like romance was needed, I just enjoy the friendship and found family between the characters.

I guess the characters I've come closest to shipping are probably Tangle and Whisper from the IDW comics 'cause those girls are pretty dang fruity and it's adorable.

Funniest Character:

I think, consistently, probably Eggman because even when the games had crappy writing, he still had some pretty good lines and Mike Pollock really made them work as best they could.

But also, I quite like Sticks from Sonic Boom, more specifically, the cartoon. But she's great because her character type is the type that could easily become very annoying if not handled correctly but they managed to make her really funny and I hope to see her in more stuff.

Prettiest Character:

I guess probably Blaze? I dunno, I like her colour scheme and her outfit and hairstyle have a regal feeling to them, which makes sense considering she's a princess. Also, maybe Rouge? Her outfit's great, especially the boots.

Most Badass Character:

Shadow, and that's excluding the whole using guns and riding motorcycles from his game. He was already badass, they didn't need to make him do all that stuff.

Character I'd Like As My BFF:

Honestly, it would probably have to be Sonic actually. And to clarify once again, well he's written well. So get the Meta Era Sonic out of here, not him. He's honestly one of the sweetest characters. It's really endearing how much he cares about his friends, but also, he cares too much and ends up putting himself in danger for them. But even without that, he always encourages them when they're down or anxious, he listens when they need someone to talk to, if they've got a sort of rivalry he will playfully tease them and egg them on because he knows they'll do the same right back.

It's honestly kinda funny how, when I was a kid Sonic was the coolest thing ever, but now that I'm an adult, he's the cutest. I just wanna give him a hug.

Character That's Ruined My Life:

It's probably a tie between Shadow and Silver.

Shadow, because his introduction into the series was easily one of the best and he was written so well (like do y'all remember that Shadow actually suffered from PTSD and you can see him experiencing those symptoms??? Sega doesn't.). And then he got an overly edgy game of his own and became a meme of Edgy The Hedgey and then Sega started to actually write him that way and it sucks. Like, honestly after seeing how the main cast were fixed in Frontiers, I am begging for them to fix Shadow next. He needs it. He needs it so bad. Write him well again, please. I am screaming and crying and biting, write him well.

And Silver, because he has so much potential. Like he had the misfortune of debuting in Sonic 06, a game well-known for being just a little bit of a trainwreck... But his personality and convictions and struggles were all really engaging and could very easily work for other stories. But then he appeared in the two Rivals games with some weird changes and it seems like the only storyline they had for him was "His future timeline is in danger so he comes back to Sonic's time to fix it" and the idea of him doing that over and over and over again... That just seems kinda cruel... Which sucks because I know Silver can be so much more.

Saw a post of how there’s this new trend of like pretty girls who were clearly obviously popular (and probably mean) in school are trying to say they are now the “weird girls” - basically like the new pick mes and it triggered me so bad.

Gave my flashbacks of my childhood and early days of middle school where I was picked on and bullied so bad. Almost forgot how bad it was cus I always looked back on it as part of my “lore” and “growth” lmao it was just a normal part of life right everyone got picked on a little right 😀

It made me into the little bad ass I am today right lol.

It was actually so fucked. I guess I always dealt with it by laughing it off but I actually was bullied so bad I had to switch schools. I didn’t *have* to but my mom became a teacher in my school district that same year while I was getting bullied and when she found out about how bad it was, she asked if I wanted to try a different middle school. My bff had to move schools and my other friends got sent to alternative school so I figured why suffer alone lol and thought a new start could be fun.

Circa 2007/2008 I went thru my early emo/scene in 7th grade (never really grew out of it tbh) and I lost all my friends from 6th grade basically since they thought I was so weird and different but I made new friends who were like me, my little weirdos ❣️

I had my little friend group, like 7 of us, we were the only emo/scene kids in our school so we were really close and would always walk together, eat lunch together etc. Some of us would get picked on worse than the others - me for example, so we always tried to travel in a pack so we wouldn’t get ganged up on.

I remember my math teacher being one of my worst bullies solely for the fact that she was my literal TEACHER and would clown me in front of the whole class and everyone would laugh at me and I would just sit there and take it because I had never experienced that before from my fellow students let alone my own teacher…

One time she asked me if me and my friend group where all dating each other and slept together 💀 we were literally 13 dude and she was asking me essentially about polyamory and orgies. Something I knew nothing about at the time. She would make fun of my friends to my face and think it was funny.

Everyone in her class shunned me and avoided me, no one wanted to sit at the desks next to me - we used to be grouped in 4 desks all facing each other and she would have to pick people to sit at the tables with me and would purposely pick the kids who hated me the most. The all thought I was the devil lmao or some satanist

I used to write in a journal and make silly little lists of random stuff like “people I love” or whatever. I was talking about my friends obviously and I wrote their names down on my “ppl i love” list and one of my close friends shared the same name as one of the girls at the table who would make fun of me. My friends name was Kristen, and the bully was named KIRSTEN. The math teacher called me up to the board to answer something (she always liked to pick on me knowing I was shy and was hated in the class) and when I got back to my desk my journal had been moved and the girl with the same name as my friend was like “omg y’all she LOVES me what do I do 😱 she’s in LOVE with me ewwww” and I just knew that they had read my journal. I felt so embarrassed and like my privacy had been invaded I wanted to cryyyy it was awful. Like bitch why would I love YOU when you obviously hate me, bully me, etc etc.

Obviously that was my fault for leaving my journal out in the open and thinking they would not read it. Tbh I think they went through my bag and found it themselves cus I knew better than to leave it out, but I’m sure they saw me writing in it all the time.

Then, when I got the big chop (cut my long, down to my back hair into a short choppy emo style cut) and went to school feeling so cute about myself, I walked into her class and sat at my assigned desk (in the front because she was cruel and hated me obv). She stood behind me during the lesson and touched my hair/back of my neck then said “oh wow they really hacked your hair huh” and kept inspecting my haircut. Everyone laughed while I silently cried at my desk. The trauma 💀

Another time she said it smelled like weed/smoke in her class and came up right behind me and sniffed me then was like, sorry you just look like the type to do that stuff. You and your…. friends. I was like no. I don’t do any of that (I was still innocent then lol)

It got to so bad to the point where my bff made me report it to our AP because she was his aide at the time and knew it was wrong of her. I used to cry and tell her all the horrible things that happened to me in her class that day. So finally after almost a whole year of her tormenting I listened to her advice and told our AP about what she would do.

She pulled me out of class the next day and tried to give me some half assed apology - said something like if anything she said to me hurt my feelings, that wasn’t her intention, she was just playing with me blah blah blah but I didn’t really care I just said its ok it’s fine cus I was always so shy and non confrontational at that point. I was honestly scared of what she was going to tell me. I had been hoping they would switch me out of her class but it never happened. They did find a sub for her class for awhile so that was a nice break from her even though I still had to deal with the bullies in her class (which she helped to create). I vaguely remember something like they sent her to some empathy training class or something but I could be wrong lol idk.

I can’t remember exactly what happened after but she was gone for awhile towards the end of the year or semester (can’t remember exactly) but she was in a car accident, her car was totaled lol (karma bitch) and she was gone for awhile. She came back with a leg cast, showed us pictures of her totaled car trying to get some sympathy lol and basically just played movies all day or let us do whatever. She told one of the students she liked that she really didn’t care what we did because she would be leaving at the end of the semester and wouldn’t be coming back to teach. Idk if it had anything to do with me reporting her but 🤷🏻‍♀️ karmaaaa

We had some students switch to our math class and this one stoner foo got seated next to me/was put in my group. This chubby Mexican guy (Chris). I called him a fat ass at lunch once cus he had skipped me in the lunch line so I was worried he was gonna be mean and would remember me but I knew he was pretty funny cus he was like “HEY I’m not fat I’m just fluffy” lol. I was also friends with his on/off gf at the time so I would talk to him about his girl problems and try to help him win her back lol. He was the onlyyyyy one who was nice to me and actually talked to me in that class when I literally felt like such a loner. He became like my bff in that class, I would share all my Japanese snacks with him and let him copy my answers lol. I will never forget him or his kindness, he also ended up being my 🍃 plug after I graduated HS up until I moved out of Texas 2 years ago lmao. Thanks Chris 🥲 he really saved me in that class because after that, the teacher never came after me or tried to clown me again. No one messed with me after that because he would always have my back if they tried to say something.

Other bullies in school would just corner me or friends or all of us whenever they got the chance and would just say mean things or ask stupid shit like “do you worship the devil” or “are you a witch” and are you all gay, etc etc. Or they would laugh at us in the hallways and make fun of our clothes. We all had to wear uniforms but ofc my friends and I went out of our way to show off our individuality and would wear skinny jeans and band tees or all black whenever we had the chance and ofc we altered our uniforms to fit our style lol. We were basically walking Hot Topic ads lmaooo. Those bullies were nothing compared to the math teacher.

Another time, on my birthday, my friends had gotten me some gifts and one friend (Justin) gifted me a Hello Kitty plush and also a Dear Daniel plushie bc he knew I loved HK 🥺 I was a little weirdo so I walked around the whole day with my plushies proudly and had a relatively nice day because of all the kind gifts. My friend (Kristen) and I were walking towards our bus at the end of the day and the buses were all lined up as usual, some kids already in their seats waiting to go. We passed by one kid in the window seat (it was open) who was taking a big sip of his bright neon orange Gatorade (I remember it so clearly) and he looked right at me and spit it out the window right at me and Kristen - it landed on me, my hair, my friend and worst of all - my brand new hello kitty and Dear Daniel plushie 😔 staining it orange and completely ruining my whole day. My friend smiled at them and kept us moving to our bus but as soon as we got to our seats on the bus I broke down crying the whole way home. Sad stuff man. The orange never washed off my plushies 💔

I wrote about it in my journal that night and I guess my mom was reading my journal during those days since she thought I was a devil child (lol jk she was just worried about me bc of how I was acting) and that’s how she found out about the bullying and decided to switch me out of that school for good after the school year ended.

Lots of other stuff I went through during that dark period of time but those are the events that I remember so vividly even 10 years later.

(I don't know how burn scars work) -Daryan went to Themis to become a defense attorney (in a very "competitive with my bff in a fun way" way) but dropped out and just became a detective after finishing Normal School. He's not NOT smart he just didn't want to put in the effort for all of it and honestly. Same. -Luke can be "surprisingly" morbid sometimes. It's not that surprising to people who know him because like. He works with dead bodies all day but to some fans who forget that he's not just an uwu soft boy? seeing him say something like "Yeah if I was trying to kill me I'd slit my throat and then whack me over the head with my own drumsticks but that's just me." is jarring. -Brandon can sew but only a little bit. He knows enough to make. a tube. He needs his long flowy dramatic headbands but it CAN'T fray if it frays he will actually snap so he just makes really long tubes. He is a stronger man than I. -Ham didn't even go to Themis or anything and Klavier and Daryan didn't know him in Middle school because he was in 8th grade while they were in 6th, he was mainly introduced into the friend group via Brandon. (especially since Brandon actually got Into Law Enforcement before the Gavinners were really a thing) uhhhhh Global time: -Penny and Cody are basically siblings to each other now. I know they haven't met in canon but stfu Penny helped him sneak into the studio and they're besties -for a few of his embarrassing preteen years Cody had a minecraft stop motion youtube channel where he just played with his plastic figures. It never got THAT much attention, but if anyone had bothered to watch, they would've noticed the oddly high camera quality and the guy playing Minecraft Steve who kinda sounds like the steel samurai -Will isn't ugly he's just scary to kids looks wise because he has resting kinda mean face. He didn't reveal his face for a while BECAUSE of the kids but you absolutely KNOW that both members of the LGBT community and midwestern suburban moms go fucking wild for him -I think it would be funny if John was lactose intolerant. I was gonna say "probably not lmao" but Zheng Fa is a fictionalized representation of China so he's at least half Chinese and rates of lactose intolerance in Chinese kids his age are about 40% and up to 92% at Adulthood. Basically if John's stomach hasn't betrayed him now it'll DEFINITELY betray him later. -uhhhhh Jack Hammer really resented Will. Part of the reason why he intended to frame Will for Dee's murder is that if he had to be stuck on some crappy kids show he should at least be the star but this guy's first foray into Hollywood nets him a leading role? Unfair -Oldbag doesn't really have any family left so she keeps busy by taking too many jobs and telling people to call her Grandma (please call her Grandma she's so lonely) (yes this is my way of trying to reconcile whatever the fuck was up with her employment situation in AAI and the T&T credits) -Adrian really likes cats. Maybe she adopts Shoe or something IDK - Dee did care about like. Actual Movie Production Quality to SOME extent. She cared about it more pre-Manuel's death but she's still going to be overly critical of Sal's scripts -Sal has not read homestuck. he doesn't know what a Homestuck is. He gets multiple comments a day on his social media things from fans who want to know if he is meanwhile Penny is laughing nervously in the corner (only one person at Global has read Homestuck and I want you to guess who it was) -Matt also likes pet rats along with cats. Summary: Adrian fell in love three times in his life. Based on the Three Loves Theory.

Author's note: the story of this fanfic came into my head almost entirely while i was listening to A Groovy kind of Love, version by Phil Collins. i seriously don't think i wrote anything like this before and this is fanfic is already my sweet baby. This is focused on Adrian, you are just an addition to his story.

Adrian Chase fell in love the first time when he was ten years old. His very first crush was Billy Walker, a kid who always defended him and anyone he could against bullies. Billy was strong and brave. He never backed down from what was right. They became friends after some kids from Middle School tried to pick on Adrian and Billy saved him. Adrian was always a thin, frail kid but he decided he wanted to be like Billy. To be with Billy.

At first, Billy didn't care about Adrian's presence but after some time, he got used to having him around. Adrian was loyal and silly. He made some stupid jokes here and there and Billy always laughed, even if they weren't funny. They started visiting each other every week and Adrian's mom was thrilled about Adrian having a friend. Gut would tease them about being boyfriends which would always make Adrian blush. Billy never denied.

One day, when they arrived at school, someone had printed a picture of Adrian and Billy at the park. They got an angle that looked like they were kissing and there were dozens of them around the classroom. Adrian actually managed to put one of those pictures in his pocket without anyone seeing it.

Adrian was very afraid he would lose his friend after this, but Billy didn't seem to mind. They faced the laughs and all mockery together, Billy never leaving Adrian's side once. They used to run from all bullies together now and Billy had always a courageous smile on his face.

Adrian's day would always get better because of that smile. It was him and Billy against the world. Facing all difficulties was easy, especially with Billy holding his hand.

Adrian wasn't so worried when Billy missed one day of class. On the second he tried to call him to no answer. After not seeing his best friend for three days, he ran to his house after school. When he got there, the house was closed. He thought it was weird since his BFF lived there. How come they would close down a house people still lived? Did he and his family got kidnapped by aliens?

On that night, he heard his mom whisper on the phone that Billy left because his dad didn't like the gossip around town that his son and Adrian Chase had something. Mr. Walker got a transfer from the army and Mrs. Walker tried to make the boys meet to say their goodbyes, but Mr. Walker forbid her. Adrian's mom was upset and Adrian didn't understand what she was doing with those choked noises but he understood Billy left.

He was alone again. Adrian did not cry that night. He slept holding one of his pictures with Billy.

Julie Gilbert was one of the prettiest girls at high school, Adrian's own biased opinion. She was smart and a little brute, making sure no one ever would make fun of her. She was also the only girl who would hang up with him and his friends. All of them kinda had a crush on her.

But for Adrian, it was something else. He knew the true Julie. Deep down, she loved watching gory videos with him. The gorier the better. She caught him in the school's library one day, watching a compilation of forbidden gore anime videos. Adrian tried to cover the screen, thinking she was to find him disgusting like the rest of the girls or tell the librarian but she didn't. She actually sat by his side, hiding from the rest of the students, to watch with him. Julie was happy to hear Adrian had a collection of those at home.

She would appear at his home often after that. Gut was shocked to see a cute girl in his little brother's room. His mom's excitement was visible by how many brownies she made every time Julie visited or by how she allowed them to stay with his door closed.

When they first kissed it wasn't weird. They had their first kiss during a movie where the girl had her intestines pulled by a monster and she screamed in pain. It was the hottest experience in Adrian's life. Gut explained he would feel it with the right boy or girl. And he felt right with Julie? It wasn't magical like with Billy but it was much heated. It felt nice.

It was cool to have someone he could share his most disgusting thoughts with and laugh about it and not be judged. It was nice to be able to eat, have fun, be silly with someone as he was. His friends didn't understand how he scored Julie's heart to which she would always answer:

"Different. He is different."

When Valentines's day came around, his mom made him buy flowers and chocolate. She alleged they were boyfriend and girlfriend and he should give something to his girl. Adrian just couldn't see it. They never held hands in school or Julie hang out with him out of his house. He actually never had entered her house before. He thought the whole idea was stupid, but he had prepared a few days earlier a copy of her favorite movie, a super rare piece. Nothing to do about Valentines's day, just a weird coincidence, he told himself.

She was very unattentive that day, not really listening to anything Adrian said. She didn't go home with him like the other days and Adrian wondered if their little thing was still up later that night on her house.

When he knocked on Julie's house, bouquet, chocolate, and DVD in his hands, Mark Olson opened the door. A football athlete, famous for being handsome but not that intelligent. He looked at Adrian confused, announcing loud:

"Gut Chase's little brother is here, Julie. Do you have anything to give him or something? He seems lost as fuck."

Julie appeared behind Mark, her eyes surprised, embarrassed. She had probably forgotten he was coming. Or didn't care.

"Shit, Adrian. I am sorry. I forgot about our study today."

Study?

"Sure. It happens."

"What are the flowers for, bro? You have a girlfriend or something? Boyfriend maybe?" Mark inquired, finding funny Adrian's hair parted in the middle by gel. Jeez, Adrian was even using a green suit with a bowtie. He probably was trying to impress his girlfriend or some shit. Funny how all those nerds ever thought Julie would fall in love with them.

"Those are for Julie" Adrian announced, emotionless, presenting his gifts to her. Julie grabbed them, not able to look at his face, mumbling "Thank you".

"That is nice, Adrian. Nothing for me?" Mark laughed, trying to grab the chocolate bar from Julie's hands. She didn't let him and they stood there in uncomfortable silence.

"Goodnight then?" Mark asked, looking between his girlfriend and Adrian. He seemed confused by the atmosphere and Julie's pity stare at Adrian.

"Yeah. Goodnight to you two. Happy Valentines's day."

Adrian left before they could close the door. Julie didn't try to speak to him anymore. It was like he never existed. His friends wondered how they broke up but Adrian knew they were never a thing. For some reason, every time he tried to watch Julie's favorite movie together he couldn't finish. It wasn't fun anymore.

The first time Adrian met you, he was excited. Chris Smith knew you from past missions and had hyped your abilities as a professional killer. Military strategist, master in hand-to-hand combat, knew at least 5 different languages. A specialist of poisons and weapons in general. Adrian Chase was thrilled, to say the least. Peacemaker number 2? It was what he always asked from heaven.

When your eyes first met at each other, Adrian felt a shiver. He thought a ghost passed through his body, so when you shook hands and the shiver got worse, Adrian thought it was something up with you. Maybe it was the fact you didn't look that dangerous as Peacemaker said and he was excited to see what it was all about. Yeah, it could be that.

In your first mission together, Adrian got paired up with you. The rest of the team wished you "Good Luck!" Peacemaker seemed jealous Adrian could work with you. Adrian noticed you were focused and powerful. It was supernatural to watch you work. Almost like a beast.

As time passed, Adrian got closer to you naturally. He didn't have that kind of connection with anyone before, not even Peacemaker. You were different on all levels. He tried to tell himself it was about to get your secrets, comprehend how your mind worked so he could be like you. He asked you a lot of questions like "What was your favorite gun?" or "What was your stance in my killing methods and how can I get better?" and you always answered patience.

You were fascinating. Each kill of yours was flawless. Each plan you made was perfect. The fact you realized someone was about to hit Peacemaker before any of them and took the guy down. The fury he saw in your eyes. Adrian Chase was charmed. You always balanced your killer personality and casual so well. He got teased a lot by John that said Adrian looked like a puppy following its master, to which Adrian agreed. Peacemaker almost didn't exist anymore. It was all about you now.

"If you keep looking at them like that, you will creep them out" Leota suggested, waking up Adrian. He was watching as you and Murn spoke. You looked so concentrated, your sleeves rolled up as you kept your arms crossed. He had never seen sexier arms before. Not even Peacemaker's.

"I am not looking at them, I am looking at a fly on Murn's window office. Don't those annoy you, Ads?"

"You aren't fooling anyone. Everyone knows. You should just go and talk with them about your feelings."

"About what?" Adrian inquired, confused. What exactly did he have to talk with you?

"You know what!"

"No, I don't!"

"You do, Vigilante!"

"Leota and Vigilante, focus now!" Murn hissed, coming back from his office, you following close. You sit in an empty chair next to Adrian, smiling in his direction before turning back to Murn.

Wait.

What was Leota talking about again? Feelings? Because what he felt for Billy Walker or what he felt for Julie Gilbert was much less intense than this. This was huge. You were special. More special than anyone ever was.

Adrian's brain worked as he watched you write down notes of what Murn was saying. You pointed one thing or another, your sharp eyes going from Emilia to Murn. He saw you hid your laugh of what something Peacemaker joked.

"...Vigilante will agree with me, right Vij? Vij?"

Adrian's attention was still on you when the realization finally kicked him, washing over his body and he couldn't feel weirder about it. Or happy. He couldn't choose.

"Vij? You okay?" You asked, waking him up from his trance. Adrian looked around seeing the whole team's eyes on him, Leota hiding a smile with her hands. He hoped you didn't notice he kept staring at you this whole time. You probably did, your attention being sharper than his was.

"Yeah? Yeah! Just thinking about Shark Week. It is supposed to start this week. Do you want to watch Shark Week with me?"

Silence. You bit your bottom lip to stop a smile, deciding to tease him a bit.

"Are you asking the whole team or just me?"

Adrian's eyes opened hugely. Shit, he forgot about the 11th Streets Kids. Shit shit.

"You good over there, Adrian?" John inquired, teasing.

"Mhm, no! I mean, yes! I mean, yeah the whole team could go if they wanted to."

Murn gave you a significant look to which you shook your head. You didn't want to embarrass Adrian in front of everyone. Chris opened his mouth to answer, being kicked immediately by Emilia. Murn continued the meeting when no one answered, Adrian's heart beating fast. He knew exactly what he felt for you and he probably just had ruined it, shaming you in front of everyone.

"You good, Adrian?"

Adrian woke up from his thoughts startled, looking around. No one from the team was in the room anymore, except you and him. Your face was worried, close to his. So close he could kiss you.

"Yeah, yeah. Where is everyone?"

"On the van. They left us in here to prepare the last details. Are you really sure you are good, Adrian? I could talk with Murn about it. I am sure he wouldn't mind a night off for Vigilante."

"Yes, I am okay. I wouldn't miss a chance to work with you."

Realizing what he said too late, Adrian felt his face burn. He always was so ridiculous near who he liked. It was the same with Billy and Julie. Now with you.

"Oh, that's nice to hear!"

You grabbed all the weapons and instruments the team needed with Adrian's help. You watched as he took his glasses off and put his mask on.

"Don't you really see anything without those?"

"Nope. My vision is pretty bad."

Adrian finished putting on his mask, looking at you when he was done. You seemed to be grabbing something behind you, before making your way towards him.

"What are you doing?"

You didn't answer, continuing your walk. Adrian gulped as you got closer to him. He hoped you didn't have a super hearing as well or his heart would shame him. He thanked putting his mask on or you would see his face pure red.

"What are you doing?" Adrian wondered more urgently, his voice shaking a little. He never had gotten so close to you before, in such an intimate way.

"You have some dirt in your vizor. Don't you see it?" Your response came in a calm tone.

Adrian didn't notice any dirt. He cleaned his outfit religiously every day, especially his orange visor. If you can't see, you get killed. It was one of your instructions. "Use all your senses or only one if you have it, Adrian." You finished cleaning his visor, your face still close to his. You two stared at each, only your breaths being heard. Yours calm. Adrian's agitated. Adrian knew if he wasn't wearing a mask, he could be kissing you.

"You know...shark week this week? Me and you?" You started, unsure. It looked like you were nervous. For him.

"But I thought the team?"

"Naah. It will be more fun if it is just me and you. They understand."

"Sure. Just me and you. It is a plan, then."

"It is a date."

"Yeah, a date then."

You smirked, victorious, giving him his backpack. He grabbed it, happiness and excitement washing over his body as he followed you towards the van. Today, he could kill anyone and anything. Just having you by his side made him stronger.

would be so used to you being super talkative and fun that whenever you were both in public he was surprised by how scary you could look when not smiling. like he’d look over and see you zoning out bc you felt really uncomfortable around strangers and he’d be like “shoot i need to go talk to her before someone thinks she’s plotting murder” so he’d rush over and be like “whatta thinking about that makes you look so grim?” and you’d be like “oh i was just wondering if I should wash my clothes when I get home or wait until tomorrow” and he’d like blink--- and then shake his head wondering how you can be so different around strangers than you were when you were around ppl you were comfortable with. he likes to stay near you most as much as possible in public bc he knows it makes you more comfortable.

Jacob:

the first time you met he was like “oh she’s scary!!” and then his friend introduced you to each other and you became friends and then he completely forgot about ever thinking you were scary bc you were so talkative and silly around your friends. but then after you started dating you went out together and he left for a moment and you started to feel really uncomfortable around all the ppl there and so you stopped smiling and looking around with interested and just sat there with a serious face avoiding all eye contact and when he came back he had a flashback of first meeting you and was like “ummm hey” and you looked up and smiled and looked like your usual self that he was use to and he was like “you look mad scary when you’re not smiling” and you laugh and you’re like “I know. It keeps the weirdos away” you don’t spend that much time around ppl you don’t know after you started dating him though, so it’s all good

Younghoon:

I mean, he sort of has an rbf too so you’ll would connect over that, like the first time you met you were at the library studying and you both looked so scary everyone avoided y’all so you started sitting at the same table so others could sit together away from y’all and then one day something funny happened and you both laughed and you both looked so pretty smiling that everyone in the library was like *mouth drops open* anyways, you and younghoon kinda start liking each other bc you’re always together at the library so you start dating and you’re so happy together you forget how scary you both look until you go out into public alone and look like murder is on your mind. You have a picture of each other smiling as your lock screens so you remember to smile and not scare ppl in public. 

Hyunjae:

he’d tease you a lot lol. he knew you for a long time so he kinda got used to your rbf when you were around unfamiliar ppl so he teases you so you smile and look cute again. and he knows you could talk for hours once you're around ppl you like, and he loves that more than anything. he actually realized he was in love with you while watching you zone out across the room. like he always thought “where would this girl be without me” and then suddenly he was like “wait--- i need her more than she needs me” but he just loves seeing you looking all scary in public and ppl lowkey being afraid of you and so you approaches you all coolly and is like “YAH!!” right in front of your face and everyone is like “this dude is gonna get socked in the nose for that” and then you just smile and he’s like “yes. mission accomplished” and everyone’s like “hold on she looks really friendly when she’s smiling!” but they never get a chance to talk with you once hyunjae is around bc he keeps you all to himself knowing you feel more  comfortable and happy that way and he loves listening to you talk.

Juyeon:

legit thought you hated him at first and was like “shoot i made this girl hate me and idek what i did” and then one of your friends walks up and you start smiling and he’s like “oh. that girl is beautiful! and she looks really friendly once she smiles” so he tries to get to know you and you instantly like him so you begin talking freely with him and he’s like so whipped for you whenever you smile which is often when you’re talking. so he just listens and listens while you go on and on. and he just loves that he won your trust. he wonders how he could ever think you were scary until you’re left in the corner of the room by yourself and you feel afraid around a lot of strangers so you stop smiling and talking and avoid ppl and he’s like “sjkfjskdksjdkjksjdk I need to go talk be with her rn so she’s happy again” and basically that’s how you start dating. while you guys are dating it’s pretty much the same thing-- he loves listening to you talk and he loves more than anything that you’re comfortable around him.

Kevin:

you were at the library and you zoned out and you were staring all scarily in the same direction kevin was sitting in and he *that meme of the kid holding the cup and who keeps looking sideways at the camera* like he really thinks you’re gonna approach him about something he never did. so he goes over to you and he’s like “are you ok?” and you jerk out of your daydream to see this really cute guy looking at you worriedly and slightly scared and you’re like “ohhh ummm yeahhh why do you aks tho???” and you smile a little bc gosh he’s cute and he’s like “gosh she’s cute” and he’s like “oh nothin” and uses a cheesy pickup line to get your number and you start dating/ become bffs and he lowkey loves that you look so scary when you’re around other ppl but then open up like a flower in the sunshine with him and you and him laugh and talk like there’s no tomorrow whenever you’re together bc you’re both pretty talkative. y’all are inseparable! but like he picks up the habit of looking scary and avoiding eye contact with ppl bc of you and his friends are like “?????” but he doesn't even realize how much he’s been influenced by you. 

Chanhee:

he meets you through mutual friends and they warn him like “yeahhh she looks really scary around ppl she doesn’t know but be warned, she’s SUPER talkative once you get to know her” and chanhee’s like “scary around ppl you don’t know? a girl after my own heart” and so you immediately click like---yeahh bffs! you both look scary in public tbh, but when you’re alone you just talk and talk and he just listens with heart eyes bc he loves listening. and you always look so happy when you’re with him or your friends and he’s just like “ahhhhhhh she’s so cute!!!” even when you look like you want to murder someone out in public. you’ll both just glare at ppl together when out in public sometimes even though you’re happy together, just to annoy your friends lol. chanhee never judges you or forces you to talk with ppl when you’re feeling uncomfortable. he 100% understands and instead of saying things like “you should just tryyyy to talk to someone new!!!” he’d be like “what? you’re feeling uncomfortable? mmkay, let’s go...rn!” and y’all would leave-- doesn’t even matter where you were at.

Changmin:

would be like “??????” the first time you felt comfortable enough around him to open up. he thought your gloomy face and quiet personality was who you always were and he was starting to fall in love with that part of you when you burst open like the sunshine and just talked and laughed freely. and then you’re like “oh,,, i’m sorry. did i startle you?” and he’d be like *shocked pikachu face* “oh my goodness no! your laugh is ADORABLE!!!!” and then he’d constantly do things to make you smile and laugh and bring up topics he knew you could talk about for days bc he’s just so in love with you. every part of your personality is endearing to him. he’d tease you after you’d been dating for a while and he knew the limit to which he could tease you without going too far. he’d pretend not to know you and look all scared if he ”happened” to end up standing next to you and like jokingly make a “help me” face to his friends and then someone would notice and start to walk up to him to rescue him from the scary quiet girl and then he’d start laughing and hold your hand while you rolled your eyes.

Haknyeon:

confused. how could you be so different around strangers than when you were with him? even with your friends your social battery would run out soon. but when you were with him?? you had no limit to your energy and excitement and you showed your happiness so easily to him whereas with others you looked scared and skeptical even if you were happy. he worried about you a lot at the beginning of your relationship,,, like you’d be standing there zoning out, not talking to anyone, and he’d be like “gosh, is she ok???? did someone say something upsetting to her????? did she receive bad news????” and he’d rush over to you as soon as he could whenever he saw you starting to look abandoned and sad out in public. after dating for a while you learned to just constantly hang on to his arm bc he protected you from strangers trying to converse with you. when you two were alone you both talked a lot but you laughed even more, like you would have deep meaningful conversations and then just switch to telling the lamest jokes and rolling on the floor dying with laughter and then he’d just look at you while you were smiling and wiping away tears from laughing and he’d smile thinking he was the luckiest guy in the world to have you--- all to himself!

Sunwoo:

wouldn’t even be surprised the first time you hung out together and you really opened up. like he could tell there was a lot more to you than your quietness and rbf. when you first started dating some ppl that knew you both would be like “she looks scary af. what if she’s really boring and like,,, mean??” and he’d *cue the tongue in the cheek thing* “shut up”. once you two were dating for a while he would get so used to your talkative bright personality that when ppl are like “ohhh! you’re dating y/n! the really quiet girl?” he’d be like “who tf are you talking about! I’m dating y/n” and they’d be like *confusion*. he knows your quiet personality in public is a part of who you are and he respects that, but like he doesn’t really even remember that part of you, bc most of your time together is spent alone and he knows that’s when you’re most comfortable and your true self. absolutely HATES when ppl misunderstand you and then hold that against you. you don’t really care but he gets really protective over you.

would think it was SO cute! he would coo and tease you gently when you were in public together making you crack a smile. when you started dating and he saw that you matched his energy he would be ecstatic! like he could not wait until you were home and in your comfort zone so you could be crazy together and laugh and talk for hours. sometimes in public old ladies would be like “deary,, you must remember to smile sometimes for your pretty bf here” and Eric would be like “????” “she does, but only when we’re alone” and then he would like flirtatiously smile at you causing you to blush and causing the old lady to feel kinda uncomfortable (as she should) literally does not phase him at all that you’re so different around strangers. like he doesn’t understand it, but he doesn’t think it’s weird either. if you’re standing there like “ughhh i hate ppl” written all over your face you’ll just smile to himself bc yeahh he just thinks it’s cute that you’re that way (idek) and then when someone tries to talk with you and he’s around he’ll swoop over and be like “hi. I’m her bf and spokesperson, how can I help”
