In my constant brain rotations of “why are people in the west so hard on mecha aside from the fandom can be a bit unfriendly” I think one thing I realized as much as I hate to say is how mecha is sometimes treated remind me of the constant hatred superhero stuff gets.

It’s such a weird comparison because with mecha I do not know what the root of it was-and I’d love to know why but I feel there’s either no clear answer or there is one and it’s stupid-where as for superheroes in the west while there’s still a dedicated community the mainstream audiences have become tired of them due to over-saturation, which I understand, but it’s caused such a massive dismal to the entire genre of it much like mecha.

People think superhero stories can’t have any substance because it’s all about fighting and not about the characters- yet forget the SIGNIFICANT impact they had to so much pop culture. How superhero stories were rooted within comic popularity, how superheroes inspired countless of stories, even so far as reaching japan since so much early anime was taken off of western media which birthed its own genre of superheroes. It’s no different to how mecha help started up the anime industry making it one of the most important genres to japans history, yet most people don’t know it and belittle it.

Yet in superhero story cases it’s even WORSE when people are against it yet then go to see one superhero movie because it’s animated and put it on a pedestal and don’t bother to try other superhero content even though they consumed is no different from the norm. It’s the exact same shit when people watch eva and then think all other mechas don’t compare to it, when the genre always had darker, mature and emotional elements, just only a select few decide to canter to a audience who doesn’t even accept what genre it’s from which makes it all the more frustrating to deal with.

I’m someone who’s hardly into superhero stuff even if some of it catches my eye but it sucks to see that the situation is pretty identical to how mecha is seen, that I can’t help to feel sympathetic whenever I see some comic book fans upset at the mainstream audience even if they too can be a little hostile.

Well the strongest would be Blue Beauty by far- but looking at the smaller cookies? I think Seafoam is probably the strongest. But that's mostly due to him being so big. He's the biggest cookie on the crew and most of his strength just comes from packing more weight to his punch.

Though another toughy on the ship would be Louis. He may not be very big. But boy that crab arm? He has a grip strong enough to break cookies in half. And enough upper body strength to take your pieces and chuck em overboard--- 💀💀💀I wouldn't mess with either of them tbh--

Its a very interesting prompt. Usually we think of Captain Barnacles as very level headed and calm. He seems like one to bounce back from any situation and keep leading the team no problem. But man. After something like that? That's gotta scare him to his core.

I can see Barnacles being more tense and not wanting any of the crew to stray too far from him or the Octopod. I can imagine that he would give Kwazii a lot of time to recover, a lot more than he actually needs. And maybe even going as far to forbid him from going on certain missions.

But after a little time and maybe a talk with Kwazii. I'm sure both Kwazii and the Captain would recover from the experience and continue on as normal.

I’m not sure if you talked about it, but what do you think about A Thief in Thunderclan? I actually liked it, though it definitely had a few ehhh moments

Eh, honestly? Im kinda disappointed that James Barry had to go out on such a low note. I did not like it, it felt like a waste of time.

It wasn't like... offensively bad but I have very little good to say about it. It was fine. If you want to see more ThunderClan you can check it out?

(A lot of Thief in ThunderClan critique below the cut, I didn't like it much)

First of all, the mystery was just bad. I'm sorry. An owl? Swooping in at night for dead animals and leaving perfect scores in the dirt? It felt like a real "running out of ideas" type plot.

Brightheart was NOT fun to follow. She was uncomfortable for most of the story and secondhand embarassment is an emotion I really don't enjoy. Even moments that were supposed to be thought-provoking (like the Brambleclaw name confrontation) just felt like cringe because they were written so poorly.

Like, seriously? "Firestar why did you name Bramble after his father who disfigured me?" "Oh its because i uhhhh wanted to remind ppl of it so they would stop being reminded of it eventually" WHAT? That was a brainless enough choice when it was FIRST made, you can't fucking tell me any cat with a brain cell would go "wao... really makes you think... hngsociety"

I disliked the fact they decided to give Brightheart serious suspicion towards people like Longtail and Brambleclaw, I strongly disagree she would be like that. She feels so much to me like someone who would feel awful for doubting people she logically knows are innocent, and express to Cloudtail that it makes her feel like a bad person, but she CANT help it. She is such a kind, loving, and self doubting sort of cat... or, was, I guess? Or maybe it was never there at all and I'm the fool.

On that note? Her character arc was a mess. As much as I hate Shadow in RiverClan, I can say that Feathertail's arc was a competent *story*. Brightheart is having nightmares, suspects Bramble and Long of treason, is trying to figure out this mystery, trying to help train Rainpaw, the fact she resents not being his mentor is mentioned and dropped, she is pregnant... so much shit is going on and it feels absolutely unfocused.

And even worse, because it's overlapping with the beginning of Firestar's Quest, we end up having to Show Off The Continuity instead of telling a cohesive story. Oop Willowpelt died and Rainpaw is kind of sad about it! But wait we have to say bye to Firestar, make sure to squeeze in the Brambleclaw name confrontation before he goes! GO BACK Longtail has been blinded!! ALSO THE OWL! HERES WHY THE OWL WASNT MENTIONED IN FQ!!

And DUDE if there's anything that's a SERIOUS problem, it's Brightheart's stupid ass cutesy "look who's being USEFUL in here!" When blinded Longtail is helping out in the medcat den

First of all fuck you for the wording of that line! Second of all, GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD that disabled people shouldn't have to find a way to be "useful" to belong to their society.

The fact we're getting a book from Bright's perspective as a disabled person and the whole thing is chock full of "useful" language as she struggles with PTSD makes the fact this is COMMON in WC sting so much more.

Anyway back to just, normal critique and not frustration with ableism in wc.

I feel like they really wasted Brightheart's family. I enjoyed finally getting Cinder and Bright hanging out as sisters, but we got a MENTION of Frostfur, and barely anything with her brothers. It's already a mess so why not go the whole way?

Ashfur also has his post-TBC personality retcon which absolutely kills me. Why do we need this shitty "foreshadowing"? Why do we need him to have been so obviously controlling and argumentative? Why are these writers fucking allergic to having a villain that people thought was nice and normal once?

NITPICK: if i have to see another cat gently picked up by a large bird of prey without at LEAST getting a cracked rib I will shapeshift into 10,000 crows and fly away forever

I have some good feelings towards it though, and I have to be clear, this is actually Ambivalent Bones. I'm only mad at the "Usefulness" rhetoric, the rest is just my normal amount of whinging lmao.

I do really like Cinderpelt and Brightheart finally getting some interactions. It's long overdo lmao

I like Cloudtail and Brightheart as a ship so it's nice to see them hang out.

Uhhh this is a bit of a backhanded compliment but I liked how she was upset at not getting one of Whitestorm's children to mentor? I don't like how it bodes for the wider narrative though, because we know this ends in her getting shafted FOR YEARS and unable to get an apprentice. But I liked the plot setup of her having resentment for Cloudtail because of this. I thought that would make a really good plot point for putting a wedge between them to work through. Like, stop being cowards, LEAN INTO Firestar making some very serious, insulting, short-sighted mistakes, and it interfering with Brightheart's ability to heal. Kill your darling.

There were some nice lines. I do remember Ashfur's lame "greedyclaw" insult, which was funny.

I enjoyed the cute moments between the cats in ThunderClan. Ferncloud chasing after her kids, Brightheart convincing people to help her investigate, the Willowkin being upset about their mom. It's a mess but there's some nice stuff in that mess, y'know?

Overall, my memory hasn't been kind to it. I think I was giving it a 6/10 when I first saw it, but it's dropped down to a low 5/10. Not (very) offensive but too messy and pointless to revisit.

1. Hello! This is probably a bit vague so I apologise for that, but I've had a fic scene stuck I my head for some time and can't find the fic where I read it. I remember that Crowley and Aziraphale were in the Bentley, Crowley was speeding as usual, and either the Bentley was playing or Crowley was singing lyrics from "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths. Specifically the part about the double-decker bus. I think part of the song were also spread across the fic to match the mood/scene, but I'm not 100% sure. At a risk of being controversial: I really dont enjoy the fanon trope of making Hylia a villain. I dont claim people who do that are evil or sexist, there's obivous writing potential there and people are allowed to explore it. I personally however find it uncomfortable, and I want to speak out in case someone else feels the same and would be relieved to not be alone.

Hylia as a character is a ...fairly new addition to franchise. We first learn of her in skyward sword, a game that's story aims to explain the reincarnation cycle's excistence.

I think due to that, and how in botw we see the first canon story that potrays the cycle as bad, its easy for new and old fans to point at hylia and go: I dont trust this. (It doesnt help Hylia is connected to vague christian imaginary and people have their own issues with religion.)

Again I dont blame people for this, some fans are new, some are coping with religious trauma, and some just wanna explore the cool concept that is reincarnating heroes.

However, my discomfort comes from a few facts in this matter that I want to put out there for people to consider.

My first issue is that Hylia is not the person who started the issue. We know the evil force that is Demise existed before the cycle, and for some reason or another Hylia nor the other goddesses could not stop him. Hylia made her plan in order to seal demise away for good, and it didnt work. It just didn't work.

It doesnt matter if demise cursed the reincarnation thing or if Hylia decided it'd repeat forever. The fact is that theres a malicious unquestionably evil force that a goddess tried to stop and failed.

You can dislike her plan all you want, but hindsight is 20/20 and all that—

Okay, breather, I am passionate about this but I know my opinion isnt the objective fact. Maybe Hylia could stop this cycle and try something else, maybe she is inhuman in mind and spirit and doesnt comprehend the horrors she has caused. We don't know and you can fill these blanks as you see fit.

But uhm, this does bring me to my second opinion, which might be harder to take seriously it you're disagreeing with this post already.

I think there's sexism around how fans treat Zelda and Hylia, not helped at all by Nintendo's own actions.

I see people be put off by skyward sword Zelda, perhaps writing her unemphatic and clueless of Link's battles to find her. So much so that we ignore the fact she too was ripped from home, told she has to be someone else, and forced to drag her best friend along so the world wouldnt end. She is a victim too, but why do we forget this?

In my opinion it's partly due to the bad writing of women Nintendo keeps doing. Zelda is written so... perfect. Nintendo refuses to aknowledge her flaws as a person and instead is like look how pretty she is, she apologises and Link forgives her, so you should too! ...When, if you dont do so, it feels like you're being manipulated or dismissed whenever she is on screen.

An issue that repeats with Hylia as well. With many Zeldas in many games.

To react to that tonal dissonance with writing Zelda/Hylia as evil is... normal, I think. I don't blame people for feeling that way.

But,, That seems unfair to me. A female character with potential to be complex and good was failed by the writers, and now we as fans continue from that point with making her even worse.

I dont dislike fans who do this, you're just participating in fandom the way you see fit, but I cant enjoy it, it makes me upset. These women are not evil, Link isn't the only character being hurt deeply, and if you could please consider female characters beyond how they hurt ya boy, I'd be so relieved.

I'll repeat what I said at the start, I dont claim people who do this are evil or sexist. People are having fun in fandom, and ngl demise sucks as a villain and Hylia is way more interesting to explore.

I just... I think its worth asking yourself why her. Why you don't or do like Zelda. Engaging in things you love with an analytic eye is genuinely good for you and the media you're enjoying.

This in no means is meant to come off as an attack, Im just requesting we look at another angle of things, maybe just to say we did.

honestly as much as i love this clown, hes a clown at the end of the day. he doesnt take many things seriously, and when he does hes still giggling and treating it lightly. so arguably, between these three he might be the worst.. unless having this goofy fuck trying relentlessly to get a smile on your face is helpful to you, at least in the short-term.. he DOES notice that youre tense and upset, but hes more likely to try to cheer you up or get you to laugh or smile instead of actually asking whats wrong with you. though, if youre crying.. i think thats where hed drop everything and ask if theres something going on. its that little caretaker bit in him thats still lingering from before he got all twisted, you know?

does not have much to say or any solutions, but he does offer to hold you while you cry or yell, hell he would even let you hit him around if it makes you feel better; though hes a little touched that the offer gives you pause.. clown physics be damned, you dont want to do that. crying/yelling into his chest it is then.. hes pretty soft and warm, i think.. might even start purring to try to soothe you during the tail end of your whole thing.. i know i just said that he doesnt have much to say but i think theres like. a tiny chance he would drop the most profound and effective reassurance.. so you know what maybe hes not the WORST, its just getting him to stop being silly can be a little tough...

doing ej first, but i think between the three hes the worst with you. not because he cant relate to you or that he doesnt care about you; but out of... him not being able to understand. which is a little funny since a lot of my hcs for him and his whole deal has to deal with suppressing himself but i think emotions and eating flesh are two different things. shrugs... every blunt with just telling you to talk to him, which can sometimes come off as cold and uninterested but rest assured thats not really his intention. he DOES care about you, but hes not exactly the softest person in this situation... rare that hes around when youre out and about doing things, given hes a hermit and is very careful about not getting seen... but when you do come to visit and he notices something is up with you he does ask if you need to talk. will snap back if youre being short with him, though, so both of you guys are going to need to take a few minutes before continuing the conversation to try to find a solution... if one can be found; he studied to be a doctor, not a therapist

though... i think overtime he would pick up on cues and things that make you untense just a tiny bit, and i just know he would utilize it. massages? hes already working the tension in your shoulders down. favorite food? sure hes not the best cook and he might have to go raid your pantry if hes visiting, but hes going to try his best to make you some food! just want to sit in the quiet? jacks already a pretty quiet guy, not too chatty, so youre set there already... wanna talk? he will listen, but a lot of his advice and solutions are more logical and straight forward rather than emotionally driven..

It was Thanksgiving at Hawthorne house, and I was still thinking about the party from last night. Me, Hannah, and Kylie all decided to sneak out to go to a college party that my boyfriend’s brother was hosting, because we thought it’d be fun. Unfortunately, Michael caught us in the act. He promised he wouldn’t tell, but it’s Michael. Nothing lasts a secret in his mouth for long. And, if my dad were to find out I snuck out, let alone had a boyfriend, I would be dead. I was busy contemplating my life when a voice calls me back to the present.

“Calla? Hello?” My mom asks, a frown on her face. I snap my head up, my nerves shaking my body.

“What? Sorry, what is it?” I ask, praying that she didn’t find out about the party. Instead, her expression clears and she gestures to the bowl of mashed potatoes beside me.

“Do you mind passing those?” She asks me. I quickly grabs the bowl and hand it to her, my hands shaking the littlest bit. My mom seemed to sense my jitters, because she studied my face for a moment before taking the mashed potatoes from me. I released a breath of air before glancing at Michael for the millionth time that dinner, just to make sure he wasn’t going to say anything. He smirks at my nervousness, and looks away, a twinkle in his eyes.

“Hey, Gray,” He calls. My dad perks up and immediately my heart starts racing. Is he gonna snitch? Instead, Michael points to the stuffing by my dad’s plate. “Could you pass the stuffing?” He asks. Immediately, I let out a relieved sigh as I send Michael a glare, but he just grins back and adds more stuffing to his plate.

“There was such a big college party last night. This guy in my class hosted it, and almost everybody went.” Mara said, casually. She didn’t know about the fact that me, her sister, and Hannah went to that party, and immediately my heart started speeding up again. Then, her phone gets a notification and she goes on it.

“No phones at the dinner table.” Nash tells her.

“I know, I’m just checking some photos someone posted from that party last night, it was so-“ She cuts off suddenly. “Hey, that’s so weird, there’s a girl here that looks a lot like Hannah!” She says. My heart drops and Hannah, from across from where I was sitting, chokes on her water. I send Mara a look, but she’s already showing the photo to Avery, not thinking it actually was Hannah. Avery grabs the phone and looks closer, before gasping.

“That is Hannah! What were you doing alone at a college party?” She accuses. Before she can respond, my dad takes the phone from her and keeps swiping to look for more photos, before freezing.

“Well, she wasn’t alone. Calla, is this you kissing a guy in the photo, or are my eyes just tricking me?” He says, his voice calm yet absolutely dangerous. Everybody goes silent. I scramble for a response, when Kylie speaks.

“I was there too.” She says with a sigh. Good on her for not letting us get all the blame. Immediately, Nash and Libby start chastising her, but me, Hannah, and Kylie all glance at each other. We had a last resort if this were to happen, and that last resort was to throw Michael under the bus. We both nod at each other, before turning to the parents.

“Michael got a giant tattoo on his arm when he was drunk!” I shouted, pointing at him. Michael gasps and immediately gives me the coldest glare I had ever seen.

“Seriously, Calla? I’m not even the one who snitched!” He shouts, throwing his hands up in the air. Jameson and Avery both start yelling at Hannah and Michael, meanwhile me and my dad look at each other. My dad and mom weren’t the type to yell at me in public, but I fear for my life on the drive home. The stare he gave me, was in a word, murderous, and I doubted I was going to see my phone in the next week or two. I gulp, when Nia starts speaking.

“Wow, you guys have some crazy dirt on each other. I’m just glad this isn’t about the fire.” She said with a shrug, before glancing down at her food. I give her a confused look, when suddenly Mara gasps.

“Wait, were you the one who set my oven on fire? You told me it was broken!” She yelled accusingly. Nia immediately notices her mistake and makes a face.

“It was broken. After I touched it.”

“Seriously, Nia? You too? Are there no normal kids left in this household?” Max complains. Avery sighs and rubs her temples.

“Well, Xavier, Mara, and Lucas, you guys seem to be the only non trouble kids left.” She says with a sigh. They all nod, but give each other looks. Lucas sighs as well before speaking.

“Mom, don’t freak out, but I’m pretty sure almost everybody here has a girlfriend or boyfriend.” He says. The entire table groans and yells at Lucas, and I’m pretty sure the adults have had enough.

“Seriously, Lucas? Well, since you want to act like you’re the ‘innocent’ one, why don’t you tell mom what you did in Las Vegas last weekend?” Michael yells, pointing at him. Lucas gives him a warning glare, before speaking.

“I didn’t do anything in Las Vegas last weekend.” He said, his voice low and threatening. Michael, obviously, either does not take the hint or just doesnt care.

“Sure you don’t. Mom, Lucas gambled 10000 dollars just at one casino!” He shouts. Avery exploded.

“10000 dollars? Lucas, do you realize how much money that is? You are all in so much trouble, you don’t even know it!” She shouts back.

“Oh I know it.” Hannah mumbles, still scared for her life.

“What was that?” Avery snaps.

“Nothing mom.” I finally look at my own mom, who really just looked disappointed, and gave me a look that said, “Really, Calla?”. I look down at my lap and randomly, start laughing. It immediately goes silent as I slap my hand over my mouth, trying to contain my giggles. It wasn’t like I was happy about this situation, but it was either laughing or freaking out.

“Oh, we are all dead.” I say, laughing harder. Hannah giggles and soon she’s laughing too. Xavier, who had stayed silent this entire time, frowned.

“I’m not dead.” He says. I gave him a look that said, ‘shut it and enjoy the fact that nobody ratted you out’, and he took the advice by looking down and not speaking again. Jameson suddenly slaps his hands together and rubs them quickly.

“Well, that was an eventful dinner. Except we should all be getting home, because we have children to ground, phones to take away, and rules to be made ironclad.” He says. Groans circle through the table, and immediately my mom speaks.

“Don’t act like we’re the ones who told you to do stupid things. You’re all grounded, Xavier and Mara being the only exception. Calla, give me your phone, get your stuff, and get in the car.” She says, her voice somehow even. I sigh, before getting up, giving her my phone, and grabbing my purse and jacket. Hannah stands up with me.

“I’d love to walk to you all to the car.” She says. My parents try to refuse, but she immediately takes my arm and walks me outside. As soon as we’re outside, she starts speaking.

“Good luck soldier. I’m lucky I have other siblings for my parents to yell at; you’re the only one in your family.” She says, reassuringly rubbing my back. I sigh, just thinking about how long I’m gonna be grounded for.

“I bet 5 dollars that I’m getting grounded for two weeks.” I say. She snorts.

“Sure. At this point, I’ll just give it to you because I feel bad.” She says. I hear the front door open and my parents walk out, my dad’s face completely unreadable. They walk past me and into the car, and I follow them. Hannah does too, probably holding off the lecture for as long as she can. She waves to us as my dad pulls out of the garage, and he drives off. There’s silence for exactly 4 seconds before he looks in his rear view mirror at me, the look on his face dangerous and threatening. When he finally speaks, his voice is the exact same, except low.

“So, where were we?”

Do you think Satan annotates his books? On one hand I can kind of see it… yet I’ve heard multiple people talk about giving him bookmarks or him also having way too many of them which suggests that he doesn’t dog-ear the pages... which can lead to (in general) less ‘vandalism’ of books. There is also the fact that his books are probably cursed, ancient relics, one really really really rare copy for a certain reason which are going to be kept in as pristine condition as possible.

Ok—well, the real question here is whether Satan thinks that books are shrine that has to be preserved and or a shrine that is to be lived in. I honestly can’t make up my mind on this answer and I feel like it can go both ways.

Yet I feel like it can be really funny to mess around with both these head cannons. I would love to just mess around with a Satan that makes sure that not a bit of ink gets spilled on his pages, and then just opening one of my own books and then highlighting or underlining a passage while looking him straight in the eye and giggling maniacally just to annoy him.

Or if he is for annotation, I can just imagine MC and him both starting a book at the same time. They are both too busy/impatient to wait until the end/ have different reading paces so they don’t want to spoil. So instead they annotate their notes and ideas in the margins, highlight passages and leave little notes for each other. Then in the middle of the day or whenever they pass by each other they just swap books and look at the other’s annotations and add comments to those annotations while still continuing to read from the page where they left off. So that means that in each book there’s one conversation going on…

Soon enough there’s not enough space in the margins so post-it notes start appearing in the books, and by the end of it all both books would have gotten thicker from the amount of post-it notes, the sides of the pages would’ve also started to turn neon from the amount of highlights.

And can you imagine how this would look to other students at RAD or the brothers? Like it’s a really busy week for some reason yet they can’t help but watch whenever MC passes Satan. They don’t even need to stop to swap books, they just do it like a fly-by and no words are exchanged because they’re already in the book.

OH! IMAGINE IF EITHER INE OF THEM GOES A CERTAIN STREET OR HALLWAY JUST TO CROSS THE OTHER AGAIN BECAUSE THEY REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE OTHER THINKS OF A CERTAIN PART THEY JUST READ.

Turns out I myself am a book person. I collect books to such a degree that I had to build a library in my house just to hold them all. And before I had the library, I kept them in stacks around the house, frighteningly similar to the stacks we see in the art for Satan's bedroom. Some of his stacks are taller and I certainly have never had any magical floating books, but man if it isn't reminiscent of my own book habits.

So I can tell you that I have opinions on annotation in general.

The thing about books is that most of them are worthless. Even really old books that you find at a used book store usually aren't worth anything, which is why they sell them for like five bucks. This means that their value exists solely in the writing they hold. It's the content that makes books special.

Now this isn't to say that expensive first editions or signed first copies or whatever don't exist. And certainly ancient books become more valuable due to their age and rarity. But that's like museum quality stuff. And since Satan likely does have magical books, that might change the value part as well. Since I would think magical books, especially rare ones, might be worth more.

However, considering how many books Satan has, I'm thinking the majority of them aren't super valuable. He probably has a different way of handling the books that are rare. He seems like the kind of demon who would preserve those types of books and I don't think he would annotate them. He might keep a separate notebook of notes, especially if they're like... scholarly tomes or something.

But novels? Or books that are pretty common that he could buy another copy of at any time?

I do think Satan could go either way with the annotation of those kinds of books. I think he would consider the content to be just as important as the monetary value, so he might see a book as a shrine to preserve, as you put it. (I love that, by the way.) However, I also think that Satan often has lots of thoughts about what he reads. He's also said in canon that he doesn't use bookmarks - not because he dog ears pages, but because he just remembers where he left off.

Solomon, on the other hand, strikes me entirely as the kind of guy who writes all over his books. And we know that Satan and Solomon have had discussions about books in the past.

So I kinda have a headcanon that Satan didn't annotate books before, but he does now because Solomon introduced him to it. Or somehow talked him into it. Convinced him of the benefits of doing it. Reminding him that these cheaper books don't need to be preserved, they're made to be lived in.

Now I love the idea of MC and Satan sharing books and writing back and forth to each other. I think a lot about the concept of people falling in love with each other through some form of writing and reading. Whether that's a letter exchange or a writer and their reader or through book annotations...

Even if you're dealing with a platonic relationship between Satan and MC, I think it's a fun idea. Like if they're reading a mystery together and MC writes something in the margins about who they think did it and Satan writes back with something like you're insane it's clearly this other character and the margins just devolve into argument.

Of course, the spicy book option is also a fantastic idea. Would they discuss it when they're finally alone? Or would they just pretend nothing was going on? Either way, the tension!

I kinda think if MC indicated that they wanted to discuss spicy stuff, Satan would be ready with a thorough analysis of it. Like if it was badly written, you can expect a scathing review lol. (I'm just imagining Satan's opinion of lines like "She breasted boobily down the stairs.") But if it was good well... that could very easily lead to a suggestion of attempting to recreate the scene, don't you think?

ok i know i answered those hypothetical phivorce asks hours ago but i cant stop thinking about it. congrats anons ive decided i AM gonna jump down this rabbit hole, im gonna 100% seriously take this entire idea to its logical conclusion. this isnt even out of anger anymore i am just insane.

so, i'm gonna say dan would be the one to announce a relationship with another person. i think if phil were in a new relationship, he would not share that, whereas i think dan wouldnt be able to keep it to himself as per the nature of the yapper. are they also continuing to make content in this scenario? like on the gaming channel and as a duo? ok right off the bat, this is already an existing fanfic that was written in 2017. it's called Disturb The Universe so if you'd like to see another person's interpretation of a similar scenario, go read that LMAO. but here is essentially my own fanfic of how i personally interpret this scenario.

they continue to make content and it is the same caliber of gay that it has been since the return, but now with added knowledge that dan (and maybe phil) has a boyfriend who, presumably, doesn't want to be involved in dan's career life. OR is this a scenario in which the new bf DOES want to be involved? is he a fellow Content Creator? or maybe just a guy who wants to support his weird famous boyfriend and his weirdly close ex?

ok let's put ourselves in the mind of the new boyfriend for a second. how would you feel if you started dating this guy, whos really nice and nerdy and cute, but he just cant shut up about all his escapades with Some Other Guy? you go look up his name and find all of the work he's done and continues to do with this dude, and ok lets ignore all the written porn cuz thats just fan nonsense right, but just the sheer amount of content on this guy you went on a second date with, maybe even shagged, and the entirety of his adult life is not only publicly available but also INTENSELY tied up with another person, with whom he is still living and in fact Shares A Mortgage and even FULLY DESIGNED THE FLOORPLANS AND DECOR TOGETHER TO MATCH THEIR COMBINED TASTES AND AESTHETICS. like assuming you're not just gonna dump this guy for leading you on, what are you gonna do, just accept that you're always gonna be second place? and even if this were a scenario which you, dan's unrealistic hypothetical new boyfriend, are totally fine with not being dan's number one man, well that kind of non-monogamous relationship HAS to be something that is brought up before ANY flirting even happens. like dan's bio would need to say "polyam + partnered" or ANYTHING because otherwise dan would be a piece of shit.

so like, what would even be the point of this announcement? in terms of dan's public life, nothing would actually change, other than all of us constantly thinking of this new boyfriend in the back of our heads as we watch dnp consistently flirt with each other. i can understand where that anon is coming from, this WOULD feel like a weird betrayal. it could be a betrayal of us as fans that have enjoyed being in this little "we know you know" bubble suddenly having this sprung upon us with seemingly no benefit to us OR to dnp, a betrayal of phil who seems to be perfectly content with all of this happening but you just know can't be handling a sudden change like this all that well, especially when pertaining to his closest person in the entire world, or a betrayal of this new bae who just has to deal with the fact that dan is just constantly showing off his life-long best friend and self-admitted SOULMATE that he finds so fucking special when, even if new bf does prefer privacy, all he got in terms of public affection is an instagram reel. but again, this is all under the assumption that dan is the kind of person to do something like this, which is the point where all of this scenario is fully destroyed and this just becomes fic.

so basically, everything here falls apart because when it comes down to it, some aspect of this has to involve dan and/or phil being pieces of shit, and personally, i do not like that scenario outside of the realm of pure fiction. but i'll say it was a fun little writing exercise, unironically feel free to steal these ideas for your phivorce / phreak-up fics.
