Superboy meets Danny

Ok. Let me explain my points here. First of all, Things these boys got in common:

Was cloned by a crazy billionaire (Match & Dani)

Has a father who doesn’t understand or is actively trying to stop/kill them

Trying their best to not be related to said crazy billionaire who cloned them

The crazy billionaire is also a villain

Rebellious teen

Has a trio friend group that (is partially) comprised of a tech geek and rich friend.

That’s all I can think of just at the moment! There’s so much more. These bitches would be a force to be reckoned with if they ever met.

Danny goes to Metropolis on a school trip. You know how some American schools will have a weekend trip to DC? Every year the Juniors in the school have the opportunity to go to Metropolis.

Danny’s parents happily give Danny the money and permission to go.

With the only drawback that you have to write a paper on the history of how superheroes changed america, Danny was ecstatic to go.

Danny, Dash, Sam, and Tucker are all put in a team to explore Metropolis and collect information for their paper. Their first stop: An impressive viewing deck on the top of a 30 story building that has a good view on the city's skyline that was streamlined so Superman could have easy access to rooftops and all building entrances.

The four are on the viewing deck and taking photos of the view and informational plaques when Intergang attacks the building they’re in with Apoklyptian tech.

One of their gizmos is like a flamethrower on steroids that’s able to shoot a stream of fire dozens of stories high. Within minutes the first 10 stories are completely engulfed in flame. Danny, not wanting to expose his secret identity to Dash, tells everyone to shout for Superman because he supposedly helped people in distress who shouted his name.

Superboy shows up a minute later. Not who they expected but they weren’t picky with who was saving them with over half the building engulfed in flame and no escape in sight.

Danny is super casually talking to Superboy and flirting back and forth as they’re flown down to the street. Dash is confused because Danny Fenton, the kid who he beats the shit out of on the daily and has no bitches, is chatting up Superboy like they’ve known each other for years, and Dash knows damn well that they’ve never met before. Danny can’t make friends with a superhero before him so Dash tries to do his cool guy act on Superboy.

Dash probably shouldn’t have tried to insult someone who was a superpowered teen and flying him hundreds of feet above solid ground because Superboy did NOT like that. He shot down Dash with insults so scathing that Dash is pretty sure the rest of his entire bloodline won’t be able to recover.

After that Dash knew to simply shut up as Superboy brought the rest of the crew to the ground. Just before he was about to leave, Superboy slipped Danny a piece of paper, winked, and mimed “call me” before flying off.

…Did Danny just score a date with THE Superboy?!

Well, not a date per se, but Danny DID get Superboy’s number. They met up as much as they could over the weekend that Danny was in Metropolis and quickly became fast friends.

These two are an incredibly tight duo who are some of the most mischievous motherfuckers ever when left to their own devices.

One of those times is when they convinced Tucker to hack into the Batcomputer. Superboy told him what he knew and Tucker went to work.

Twenty or so minutes later, Barbara and Tim are freaking the fuck out because they were both on monitor duty and someone hacked into the batcomputer. After panicking and tracing back the hack, they take over the hackers computer camera and see Superboy and another black haired teen triumphantly cheering while the boy who apparently infiltrated the batcaves computers, was holding his head in his hands mockingly at the two superpowered kids' actions.

Tim and Babs realize that this wasn’t a malicious attack and instead just a couple of insanely competent idiots having fun. If these guys can have fun why can’t they?

Babs infiltrates the computer that has shockingly insanely well crafted cyber security. She changes the lockscreen and every tab open to an image of Red Robin getting fucking beaned in the skull with a jug of juice. Tucker responds 15 minutes later on the batcomputer with a low angle photo of himself and Superboy flipping off the camera. At the far top of the image is Danny crawling upside down on the ceiling, feet and fingers embedded into the bumpy surface. His eyes glowing a bright green and looking like an eldritch abomination.

This starts one of the strangest friendships that Tucker has ever had. Actively hacking into eachothers computers to send back and forth increasingly elaborate shitposts and enhancing their firewalls with each breach of security. Danny actively repairs ghost nations, ghost politics, ghost relations, and completes a BUNCH of ghost king related activities he normally would have hated for the sole purpose of getting specific ghosts together to create the new shitpost of the week that they would send to Oracle and Red Robin.

Batman finds out only because Superboy let it slip. “Got through to your stupid batcomputer three times this week! You’re slacking Gordon.”

In all honesty, Batman thinks it’s fucking halarious. His kids managed to find the nerdiest possible way to make friends and they’re making massive improvements on the Batcomputer and Watchtower’s security. If these kids ever DO become a threat… Batman knows exactly where they lived and has an armed satellite at the ready.

Now that Batman knows, Superboy gets Red Robin and Impulse together to meet the Phantom trio. I need you guys to picture this: It’s a cozy family owned diner. Warm oranges, reds, and tans cover the inside of the building. A very sweet looking mid 40s lady with her hair in a bun and an apron around her waist, walks over to a corner booth and asks the customers what they would want to eat.

At this table: Danny, Sam, and Tucker all are wearing their casual everyday clothes sit at one side of the table while talking animatedly to the trio on the other side of the table: Red Robin, Impulse, and Superboy, all in their full superhero uniforms, are talking just as excitedly right back at the Phantom Gang on what to order.

So Sam. Sam would be amazing with Tim. Imagine the amount of eco-friendly ideas she could propose to Tim to better the public's view of WayneTech. With Sam’s help, Tim launches a campaign to fix infrastructure and do a HUGE plant based rehabilitation plan to help reduce smog and add greenery to Gotham. Tim hires Poison Ivy to help with the enhanced growth of trees and gardens around Gotham and it goes extremely well. Poison Ivy commits bioterrorism for the betterment of the environment after all, they remove the terrorism bit and just keep the bio, she isn’t that bad. It’s amazing because that means there’s one less villain on their asses all the times tearing up Gotham.

Sam also absolutely gives everyone makeup lessons and fashion tips to embrace their own personal aesthetic better.

Tucker is super good friends with Tim and Impulse. He somehow can keep up with Impulses talking and the pair will spend hours excitedly infodumping each other. Tucker chatting with Tim about tech and some improvements that they could send to the engineering division of WayneTech. The amount of chaotic bullshittery Tucker will do with the two is unparalleled.

Danny is extremely good friends with Impulse and Superboy. Superboy and him bond over their experiences and powers. They go on bi weekly night flights to brainstorm pranks and insults to throw at their respective villains. Danny is able to also keep up with Impulse's excited speech and they give each other tips on how to control powers granted to them by all powerful other dimensions.

idk this ends my rambling but I just… Danny would be such good friends with Superboy. If you want to go romantic, they would be an incredible couple. The flirting and nonstop jabs could absolutely be simply bros being bros but I genuinely think these two could have a very solid romantic connection with each other if you want to go in that direction. Their backgrounds are so very similar, their personalities would mesh together extremely well, they’re vigilantes so no worries about endangering a weak civilian, and you cannot tell me that Danny wouldn’t steal Connor’s jackets even if he wasn’t in a relationship with him.

In the far future I truly believe they would stay friends. When Danny reveals to Impulse and Robin that he’s actually a ghost and the photos they were sending to the batcave were honest to god images of another dimension, it certainly causes momentary panic and chaos but it quickly settles into acceptance. How on earth Robin or Impulse would react to the Ghost Zone I am completely unsure. If someone else wants to add onto this with that concept you can surely go for it. All I do know is that their awe and wonder of this brilliantly strange and odd dimension that their friend (who’s apparently the ruler of?! What?!?!) lives in. They all use the GZ as a sort of hideaway when things get complicated and too much in the mortal plane. They all have little rooms in Danny’s lair that they are free to crash in at any time.

This offer may spread to everyone else too. Connor invites Danny and the rest of Young Just Us over to the Kent’s farm to enjoy some incredible homemade meals and to take their mind off things to focus on chores around the farm. Tim invites the group over to Wayne Manor for their assistance on difficult cases (if the research session turns into a Mario Kart tournament or movie marathon, that’s between them and Alfred)

I am very much so unsure how to end this so I’ll just say this: Danny’s life changed for the better and no matter what he does, he can never escape “are you an angel?” jokes.

We will have digital merch with this zine! Merch types will be finalized when our contributors are picked.

We will be accepting 25-30 artists and 15-20 writers into the zine!

In addition to these, 67% of respondents indicated interest in guest contributors, so we will be picking 5-10 guests from the creators recommended. (Meaning the total number will range from 45-60!)

Though Rivals was originally intended to be a free zine, most respondents indicated they would be interested in a small charity donation to access the zine and an optional place to donate to contributors.

I can’t even look at the tags I wrote my own self without blacking out bc rhi’s scholarship captures SUCH a specific and visceral mood that yeets me violently back to high school and college, but it also captures the vibes around certain men so so well. If I was Gunnar Henderson having to be around chosen one Adley Rutschmann who is so kind and so big and so goofy and so disinterested in me romantically but loves me wonderfully like a brother, if I was Gunnar sitting on the couch watching The Dark Knight with Adley, both of us sprawled out and kinda paying attention but also not really because neither of us actually wanted to watch the Dark Knight, Adley wanted to watch Casablanca and Gunnar wanted to watch V for Vendetta and they just ended up on The Dark Knight rather than re-litigate an argument about how many times you can watch Casablanca without Humphrey Bogart becoming Your Thing, if I was Gunnar and I was kinda bored and I knew Adley was kinda bored and I could see him shifting restlessly on the couch like he wants to start that argument again anyway, then, yeah, I would be feeling some things. If I was Gunnar, I would kinda wish Adley would feel me up on the couch!!! A lot!!!!

love being insane about weather report and i need to spew my thoughts about him and pucci and their stories aligning greatly with those told about cain and abel. as well as emporio being awfully similar to seth- cain and abel's lesser known younger brother. a LOT of biblical talk which i know most people aren't fond of, so it's going under a read more.

the story of cain and abel is so widely known, but i don't think most people know everything - such as the upbringing, the buildup, and the inevitable downfall of the two. the story of cain and abel have been done over and over, each told a varying degree of success, so i think it's interesting to see araki's version of it. (if he even intended the similarities to be there, which could be possible. but i don't doubt it since he is quite well versed in christianity / the imagery.) honestly, when you think about it at first ... the similarities don't seem to be there besides the obvious "pucci killed his brother and betrayed him" since weather got in the way of him achieving heaven. but the longer you look, the more you can see the similarities. so please bear with me as we try to unscramble these thoughts together and best explain the betrayal story of cain and abel, and how seth comes in to save humanity. the most striking for me is the usage and importance of weather report's disk. when cain strikes abel, he is coated in the blood of his brother and because of this- the blood of abel that's staining his clothing, cain would never be able to reach heaven and inevitably leads to his downfall. the blood of abel preventing cain's entry in heaven reminds me a lot of the final showdown between pucci and emporio- the final stretch before gaining eternal greatness, where he is stopped by emoprio's utilization of weather report's disk, effectively preventing him from achieving heaven. while not quite the same, weather report's disk act's as the perfect replacement for abel's blood- a final haunting reminder of the killing of his brethren, now stopping pucci within his tracks and being used against him despite being so close to heaven even after his endless offerings. this is also where emporio's role of seth comes into play- and, in relation to cain and abel, seth services as a replacement for abel after his death- essentially becoming abel's new mouthpiece and ushers in our current humanity. which emporio does after weather's death, acting as his mouthpiece and successfully helping joylne create a new humanity- all while the disk comes back to haunt pucci and prevent him from achieving his goal. it's beautifully poetic, in a way. while obviously not shared by blood, the bond between emporio and weather cannot be underestimated. they had a great deal of trust in each other and it's clear weather even seemingly regarded emporio as a little brother to him, going to immense lengths to keep him safe. there's a lot more in relation to weather report and other biblical allegories- such as heavy weather being triggered subconsciously by weather's hatred for humanity, turning anyone affected by the rainbows into snails. the important bit is the snails, and how snails are thought of as "the symbol of the wicked passing away" within the bible- obviously signifying how weather truly feels about humanity and how vile and "slimey" it has become when regaining his memory. he can feel at ease knowing there will be no more wickedness plaguing humanity anymore. don't know how to properly conclude these thoughts. just hoping my rambles are coherent and don't seem too far stretched, especially since i do believe, in some way, this may be araki's personal retelling of cain and abel to some extent. the man is obviously into christianity and it's aesthetic's, it's not like jesus christ isn't an actual character in the damn series unironically 😭 but i hope theres some cohesion when explaining these thoughts because whew there’s a lot of them.

listen in my mind Ruby had a proximity crush on weiss but never pushed it then met Penny and fell hard and then the fall happened and weiss realized she was in love with Ruby and then Penny came back and Winter was there so they drifted apart and then vol 8 happened and now we're here

i agree to an extent ! personally i have never seen v1-3 as having any form of romantic portrayals between weiss and ruby (therefore i think the only one at the time actually crushing would’ve actually been weiss), and only potentially a “it would be nice” kinda deal for ruby regarding penny considering they didn’t really hang out much due to The HorrorsTM.

and then the fall of beacon happens, and there’s an absence for all three of them. ruby has lost her entire team essentially, witnessed the death of two of her friends because she was just a little bit too late, leading to her hyper focusing on getting to mistral and keeping the rest of jnpr alive, because that is the only thing she knows to do.

weiss, stuck in atlas, forced to reminisce on her teammates, her family, that she doesn’t think she’ll ever see again; under the hand of her abusive father :(. and, unbeknownst to us, penny is right there in atlas as well. unable to communicate to anyone that she’s alive due to the loss of internet or w/e (or maybe pietros still working on rebooting her, shrug. whatever the case, she was right there, which oof lol).

then rwby reunites and yes, yippee!! but still not a lot of time to notice feelings such as romance, due to the new horrors of salems truth and being stranded in the snow. honestly; i do not think there was anything but subconscious feelings, if any at all! build up, yes, but understanding and coming to terms with them? this is ruby “essentially blocked off less important emotions so i don’t break” rose and weiss “every romance i’ve seen in my life has ended in failure” schnee! no way in hell.

then vol 7. oh boy. they finally have some time to think. and now penny is back as well! feelings start blossoming, although i still do not think it’s reached it’s apex. rwby as a show is a slowburn for romance unless someone dies (>_> fairgame n arkos come to mind), so like. i think the sad part of it all is that it still never fully blossomed for any of them until penny dies again. the knowledge that she can’t come back. gone forever(?). rubys reactions in v9 come to mind. that absence sure is making the heart grow fonder lol (and my girl is haunting that subtext so much its not even funny). and weiss is probably so fucking sad that it happened again, right as she was getting to know penny proper, and now she doesn’t even know how to help her bff, her partner. :(

I’m in the middle of writing a long ass Danny Phantom fanfic and it’s kinda crazy bc for one I haven’t written a fanfic in almost 7 years, and for two I entered this fandom when I was literally TWELVE how am I still into it…my brain doesn’t get rid of fixations so easily I guess

I should post more here, but i just havent been playing ttrpgs at all lately and havent been having Ideas or anything. I could try to make fandom posts more often, but the dimension 20 fandom has gotten So Big since I was last a poster in it. I missed a single season like season five or something, and my horrible ADHD means i’ve been playing a very slow game of catchup. I try to watch a season if I catch it while it’s coming out but it still takes me a while, but i’ve skipped so many seasons in the process and I wanna go back and watch them but i never find the time anymore.

Especially because the dropout app on my phone is lowkey broken, if i play it Picture in Picture or while my screen is off for Just Audio, the app stops and i have to reopen it to resume, so i just keep the video open but i cant do anything else when i’m watching dropout cuz it closes, and i can’t just go desktop cuz my main podcast hours are when i’m walking to work. Is there a Spotify rss link? 

Anyway, i had a riz gukgak type url a few years ago, and then i totally deleted my entire main blog so. Actually, no, i just Moved??? I think i either forgot my password or- Oh no right, my DMs were broken and i got tired of it :(

Anyway, enough rambling, I was just reminiscing, I’m a littol stoned, but i’m really enjoying Burrow’s End. I’m on the finale rn but i opened tumblr and it closed and i havent reopened it yet cuz i Wanna Blog, and so i’m gonna get back to it in two minutes, but maybe I will try to post more :)
