Slime HRT Bonus: At the Clinic

The woman with a blue tint stepped out of the doctor's office, she didn't seem very happy. She was about to leave the waiting room and go about her day, but then she stopped and noticed another. one who already looked so much like the kind of slime she wanted to become. The woman with the blue tint approached the slime. “Um, excuse me, could I ask you a question?”

The amber colored slime looks up from her phone and tilts her head - which had the facial musculature visible through a thin layer of slime - before replying “Um, sure, I guess?” She asks, adjusting her position to better talk with the other woman.

The woman with the blue tint reflexively braced herself. “I don't want to sound rude, we're taking the same stuff, I think, but, well um, do you feel better? With your new self? Sorry, that's probably rude to ask.

The other slime chuckles “Ah, that explains the coloring, I was wondering,” She replies “And yes, I definitely feel better - marked improvement over all that flesh and bone,” She held up her arm, the limb rippling like a wave to accentuate her point “If you exclude the ones stubbornly hanging on,” She added, gesturing to her torso, where her rib cage and spine are visible through her translucent slime. “And I don’t think that’s a rude question, it’s genuine for one, and you’re gonna be dealing with all this eventually, so of course you’re curious about it,” She explains “You’ve just started, yes? A few months in? If that isn’t rude of me to ask?”

“Yeah, I think it's been three so far. I just get really nervous about this sort of thing, it's not exactly a reversible change, but it's not one I thought would be so difficult, you know? Also I have to know if you can wiggle the bones in you. I'm just really curious.”

She chuckles and nods, looking around for a second before discretely reaching inside herself and wiggling her ribs a little, wincing ever so slightly “These don’t move nearly as much as the arms and legs did, and it does twinge a little since you kinda also jiggle your spine,” She explains, removing her hand from inside herself “But yeah, you can definitely wiggle all your bones once you get there,” She says with a grin “And yeah, I don’t blame you, I’d be lying if I hadn’t had concerns at the start too, but I promise it’s worth it, even if certain points are less than fun,” The woman’s eye twitches a little as she finished speaking.

“Would you mind telling me a bit more about it? Your experience I mean. If that's alright. I just have a lot of questions.” The woman nervously sits down next to you. “After your appointment I mean, or before, company can be nice when you're waiting.”

The woman looks over at the doctor’s door before looking back to the other girl “I’m happy too, I don’t know how long we’ll have before being called but I can tell you what I can now,” She replies “Good way to kill time,” She adds with a smile “What do you want to know?”

“I won't ask you why a slime, I think we both know it's not easy to put into words and it's just there for jerks to shame us… Do you also get a bad vibe from that quack doctor? Like it's not just me right, he's really rude all the time, like he doesn't even want to be there.” She dodges the question in her own mind but the one she sends you is charming enough.

“Yeah, he strikes me as an ‘ex-evil scientist’” The woman replies “And he does seem a little… reluctant to be doing this - but I’m not gonna worry about his reticence, the results speak for themselves,” She waves a gooey arm again “Also I don’t necessarily think ‘why a slime’ is such a bad question, so long as it isn’t jerks trying to shame us,” She offered “I mean, I think it’s kind of a fair question - why throw away your humanity? and why throw it away to become a gelatinous blob?” She says “I mean, ‘cause it’s freaking awesome and bones suck, but,” She mutters playfully with a slight smirk 

“But?” The woman hangs on your words, clearly interested in everything. She puzzles over the explanation of becoming a slime, but everyone has their own reasons, and there's always another time to ask hers.

“Well, I mean, but I guess humans don’t really see it that way,” The slime replies with a rippling shrug “Kinda helps me feel more like I chose right though - a human would never choose this, so clearly I’m not human,” She says with a grin “By the way, I can see you’re a different color than me, what kinda slime are you?” She added

“Oh? Oh! Right. Um… I am a soap slime, I think. I mean I know I am. It's like something close to soap, it makes me very slippery. To be honest I also came here to make sure I didn't get a concussion when I slipped into some cookware, heh heh.” She laughs like her injury was a lackluster joke at some two-bit pub. “I guess I never really felt human either, at least sometimes I don't. I guess I'm just really indecisive, being a slime lets you be anything you want to be, with some annoying limits, I actually somehow convinced that doctor to make adjustments for me to better shapeshift my color and texture. It's the one thing I let myself be adamant about.”

“Ooooh, a soap slime, that's neat!” The woman replies “But yeah, that slippyness sounds dangerous especially while you've still got all the fragile bones ‘nd stuff,” She adds, gesturing to the comparatively human slime before her “Also ditto on the indecision - while I'm absolutely loving the slime, I actually started this as a base for shapeshifter HRT - I wanna be able to be anything, and any mixture of things and while this-” her hand shifts into a hammer shape- “is very cool, it's not quite as good as I'd like,'' She confesses, shifting her hand back to digits.

“Shapeshifter huh? Maybe I should ask about it. Sounds like it could be nice, but what about it could be better? I mean it seems like you can morph yourself however you want. Sorry if that’s rude to ask, but I can’t help but get interested in this stuff. I think a dream job of mine would be to help counsel people like us, be the kind of person that could find the perfect prescription for those who aren’t sure. It’s a bit of a silly reason, but if I want to pursue something like that, I’d like to hear all the downs that come with the ups of being a shapeshifting slime.

“Huh, I’d never even thought about that, but yeah, I guess some people might need more guidance or help dealing with some of the changes - there’s been a couple where having a little help would have been much appreciated,” The slime confesses “And yeah, I wanna become a shapeshifter ‘cause while slime shifting/morphing is good, it’s a little limited compared to what I want,” She tells the blue tinted woman “As a slime I can alter the shape of my body, but not really the color or composition.” She explains “So I can make my hand into a knife-” Her hand changes shape once again, this time looking like a blade- “But I can’t make it metal, for example,” She says, shifting the limb back to normal “Nor can I alter the color - which reminds me I’ve been meaning to dye my hair,” She adds, brushing her hair - which was also slime - aside a little “Turns out it only takes food coloring for that,” They says with a smile “But yeah, as much as I absolutely love being a slime, I wanna go full slime shapeshifter - a slimeshifter if you will,” She finishes with a chuckle.

The not yet a slime woman laughs with you. “I get that, I’m actually kicking myself since I only learned about the food coloring trick a couple weeks ago. I’ve actually only recently tried looking up a bunch of tips for slimes, it’s a little hard with how few slimes there actually are, and even fewer who post about it on the internet. I’ve heard that some sleep in a bucket cause they can’t hold their shape when they sleep.” She smiles, seemingly feeling a lot happier just chatting with a stranger after a bad appointment. She receives a notification on her phone, but her attention is drawn to the time. “Oh beans, I didn’t realize the time.”

The woman chuckles “I fortunately haven’t had to deal with bucket sleeping, but I did have some leg based complications once those got goopier, and I meant to do the food coloring as soon as my hair changed, but I just kept forgetting,” She confesses “And yeah, no kidding, there’s so little out there for slimes, It is nice to talk to a fellow slime,” She adds, before the notification bleeps on the other slime’s phone, “Oh? You have to go?” The woman asks.

“Yeah sorry, I have a bit of a busy schedule to keep. Tell you what, we can exchange phone numbers!” the woman holds out her phone showing you the contact information for a person named Mayday. “Thanks for the conversation, call me and I'll buy you a drink sometime, you seem like you'd be a cool friend to have.”

“No, no, I get that,” The woman replies, taking out her own phone, tapping at the screen with a stylus to quickly add ‘Mayday’ into her phone “Yeah, I’ll definitely have to drop you a text, as I says, ‘ll be nice to keep in contact with another slime. Guess I’ll see you for a drink next time then?” She says with a smile, tucking her phone away.

“Yeah!... I hope you have a good appointment. Hopefully we can see each other soon. Sorry for taking up your time.” The woman named Mayday walks out the waiting room door, disappearing into the busy streets outside before the other slime can reply. Sometimes making friends can be as simple as the right place at the right time.

This is a redesign of a Minecraft show I used to watch a long time ago called the Steve Saga by FavreMySabre. This is for my fan rewrite. I love the original story all the same, I'm merely rewriting it with the purpose of filling in the plot holes and fixing some problems the OG story had as I think I can find ways to do so. It was fun watching him just wing it as his reactions were more immersed but now I hope that this story can be fleshed out and polished. I welcome fellow fans and possibly new ones to The Steve Saga Fans Rewrite! Or maybe SS FR for short? So far this is what I'm calling it, if someone has some ideas for a better one please feel free to name it, if not, this is the name. On the interesting stuff now that I'm done with explaining myself!

This is Sabre. The creator of the story and the main character. In honor of the chicken skin he had, I made him keep the resemblance. The blindfold is something that stays in Sabre's Minecraft skins as it is iconic to his channel. In the story there is an explanation, but I'm not revealing this here as it is a funny thing I want y'all to enjoy finding out yourselves. There will be many changes you notice along the way in how the story progresses, the world build and other stuff, but it is pretty similar to the OG, I just edited what I thought was necessary for things to make sense or add something to expand upon the plot and world.

In the story Sabre is not playing a game (Minecraft) he is instead isekai'ed in a new world. He is physically there. Some things work like a game, such as viewing inventory and storing whatever you want in it or being able to view info about items, in this world it is normal. Things that are not like the game is respawning, he can die just like everyone else. YOLO! Other stuff, like the mobs are a little different, the dimensions are still here as well as the added ones OG story had, and some other things are still being worked out. At this time the rewrite is still in early development. Not only is the story being reworked but the logic and world is too. Which is a lot to think about and figure out, but so far it's going well.

It's going to be a veeeeery long time before I finish rewriting the story and probably even longer for me to post it. I want to make this fully illustrated, like a comic of sorts, so that you can see everything that happens. Now I am pondering whether I should post the story when it's completely finished, which will take FOREVER, or post it when I'm absolutely sure it doesn't need any more edits and I'm satisfied with the chapter, which is probably ideal, but I might change my mind and want to make changes on the future. What a conundrum, but I'm sure the latter is more likely and preferred as I don't want to keep people waiting too long. I might be overthinking some things... I just want to do well and hope y'all enjoy it.

You'll find out more as you read the story about important things that are the same or not, but for now enjoy the designs I drew for the story!

I am OBSESSED with your colored in manga pages!!! They’re beautiful I can’t stop thinking about them, how do you do your TWST page edits??? I’m really wanting to color the chapters too! It looks so fun!

I downloaded the pages (of chp1) straight from where I read them, and edited over (im using krita! Maybe photoshop would be better??) but I can’t seem to make them look the way I want them to. The line quality is nowhere near yours, yours looks so professional! I hope I’m not stepping on your toes by asking but I feel like I’m missing something 😭 would you mind explaining where/how you download the pages with such high quality? Do you turn them transparent like coloring books or edit overtop of them? I hope this ask isn’t too much!!

The pages I've been using for color edits are from turtlesoupscans' uploads – they're a scanlation group focused on TWST, and currently have stuff up for the manga (both the main story + anthology comic) as well as translations for the official novel. To my understanding, their scans ARE okay to use for color edits, but not for re-translations or mass-reuploads.

I do all my edits in photoshop using a lot of multiply & lighten layers! The coloring book method u mentioned is so enticing yet so traitorous…in photoshop, the selection + erasing method tends to damage the lineart, and the inverted channel method for removing white backgrounds quickly will keep a 'film' if the background isn't pure #ffffff. (Maybe krita has a more effective solution? 👀)

(Also bc I brought up using photoshop I'm ethically obligated to mention that photopea, an online equivalent to photoshop, exists and is free to use)

I've never used krita before, but from what I'm seeing of its layout/capabilities, the process I use should translate over fairly well–

(Added a black bg to the "fill" portion to make it easier to see)

First come the "fill" layers, which are for covering up halftones & similar shading techniques. This step isn't super necessary (and sometimes involves a lot more editing to replicate halftone gradients/patterns), but I heavily recommend it for scenes that involve a lot of dark colors. Leaving halftones in can cause colors to look darker & grayer than they should, the latter of which you specifically want to avoid when making color edits of darker-skinned characters. (They can also be really good for conveying texture tho, which is why I left the statues' shading alone in this example.)

Next are the color layers, where the bulk of the editing happens. As I mentioned above, I use a ton of multiply layers for this so I can just draw over the image. Darken layers also work, but I've found they tend to affect line density & smoothness. The shading and highlighting here is done using masking layers for individual objects/structures – I think quick group + choosing inherit alpha for the mask layer is the krita equivalent? Layers for darkening the overall lighting (like for nighttime scenes) would also go in this section.

Finally, the lighten layers are solely for the lineart. This is to help "soften" the the lineart, so to speak, making the scene feel a little more 3D/fleshed-out. This step is especially important when dealing with hard shadows, like on the Dark Mirror's frame, Pomefiore's windows, and Ignihyde's central pillar-thing. What I do is put down a bunch of lighten layers, typically at 50% or 75% opacity, and color-pick the darkest part of whatever feature I'm editing the lineart for. Because I'm using a darker color, the surrounding multiply layers will usually go unaffected by the lighten layers – if not, I just gotta zoom in and be careful about it. These layers need to be on top of/closer to the 'front' than the color layers, or else the multiply effect of the color layers will apply to the lighten layers as well.

Thanks for bearing with my kinda long-winded explanation! I've been learning as I go, so there might be easier/better ways of doing things that I haven't stumbled across yet.

ES Journeys Main Cast: Lazuli the Glaceon

Hey y'all, I'm back again to continue talking about the next character of the main cast for ES Journeys which for this post it's about Lazuli.

Remember that the main thing you should know about my version of the cast is that they are supposed to be as closely accurate to how they were in the comic in terms of personality and backstory as possible while also changing things to improve them by adding, removing, or expanding things about them.

Now without further ado, here's Journeys Lazuli.

(Note: Not everything is fully fleshed out. These are just the main ideas I have and am currently trying to flesh out)

Lazuli Lazuli is a pretty well known character for many reasons that for better or worse, mostly worse. She's known for being a tsundere and violent, hitting Speed as gag (It's not funny), being Leaf's older sister and sharing the same backstory as her, and her very controversial ship with Speed with it being toxic and having bad writing.

To be honest, most of the things Lazuli is known for is pretty bad and I know she has her fans but there's a bunch of people who don't like how she was written and that includes me. Lazuli writing is bad or rushed from how she was a violent tsundere towards Speed to the stuff in the vacation arc and literally her character revolves around Speed entirely. I plan on giving Lazuli better writing for her character in ES Journeys.

Personality I feel I need to explain the thinking behind making her personality. So we all know Lazuli was an aggressive person in the comic and people have a problem with that, rightfully so with how she hits Speed. The most obvious change would just be making her nice but I have an issue with this kind of change because making her nice makes her very uninteresting. Lazuli in Tomorrow Light is nice and to me, she felt uninteresting and boring. She doesn't have much unique dynamics with others and I don't like that. So making Lazuli aggressive is bad and making Lazuli nice is also bad (to me though) so what do I do? Read below to see.

So Lazuli's personality is similar to her comic self at the beginning of the story where she doesn't trust anyone and is aggressive but this time it's towards everyone. She's hotheaded and aggressive so she'll get angry quickly and snap at anyone who talks to her. When she joined the Eeveelution Squad she was still aggressive around them and would often snap at them as well, especially towards Speed which then leads to them constantly fighting verbally and physically (It's not a one sided abuse from Lazuli, think of their fighting as the fights Natsu and Gray do in Fairy Tail) so Pearl would often be the one who stops them. Lazuli does becomes more trusting of others and less hotheaded and aggressive over the course of the Sinnoh journey and beyond but will occasionally have those two bits of herself pop up every once in a while.

Lazuli was also rebellious towards the team when she joined as she doesn't listen to them and often does her own thing in battle even though Speed and the others had a plan. Doing her own thing often lead to her losing battles a lot so she had to learn that she has to listen to her team.

Despite her rude behavior, Lazuli is actually a quiet and socially awkward Pokemon. Since she was pushed everyone away because of her aggressive behavior she didn't really have any friends so she didn't know how to act in a social setting or around other Pokemon who are nice to her. This changes though when she befriended Crystal. She learned how to be social and how to have fun thanks to her.

Lazuli in the beginning of Sinnoh was very closed-hearted and distrustful of others. She doesn't open up to anyone and has trouble trusting others since her own father abandoned her so she didn't trust anyone except Leaf. Even when she met and joined the Eeveelution Squad she didn't trust any of them and only joined them because she wanted to look after Leaf. This changes though as after she breaks down and reveals her past to Speed (Basically SC8 but NO ROMANCE) she learns to become more open and trustful of others which is only boosted thanks to Crystal.

When it comes to battling, Lazuli loves it while Contest she's okay with but would much rather prefer doing the former.

Lazuli has a strong drive to protect those she cares about, especially her friends and family which is a trait she shares with Speed and Black. She gained this trait after she and Leaf got kicked out by Alfred as she promised to protect her sister no matter what. When she joins the Eeveelution Squad and bonded with the members of it she began to care for them and would also try to protect them as well.

Lazuli is one of the smarter members of the team. While Speed is smart when it comes science, Lazuli is smart when it comes to history. From reading a bunch of books, she knows a lot about regions from their myths and legends to the history and culture of them.

Lazuli loves to read books, especially history books.

Moves, Ability, and Battle Style Lazuli in this AU is stronger than her comic counterpart as she actually battles and isn't just a "comedic abuser".

Lazuli's battle style involves her fighting physically with punches which is based on how Lazuli punches Speed which isn't funny btw. Lazuli is physically the strongest member of the Eeveelution Squad. Despite mostly fighting up close she does uses ranged moves to keep her distance when she needs to.

Lazuli has a wide array of Ice-Type moves as well as other Type moves. Her movelist and when they're learned: -Tackle (DP) -Double Kick (DP) -Ice Beam (DP) -Ice Shard (DP) -Ice Punch (DP) -Water Pulse (DP) -Take Down (BW) -Blizzard (BW) -Triple Axel (SWSH) -Double-Edge (MJ) -Giga Impact (MJ) -Subzero Slammer (SM; Z-Move) -All-Out-Pummeling (SM; Z-Move) -Max Strike (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Hailstorm (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Knuckle (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Geyser (SWSH; Dynamax)

Lazuli's ability is Ice Body. If a Pokemon makes physical contact with Lazuli then she can activate her ability to freeze the part of the body that touched her in ice.

Lazuli's Backstory Lazuli hatched on March 3, 2001. She hatched seven days before Leaf did. She and her sister were raised by Lapis and Alfred in the Sinnoh region and lived close to Sandgem Town.

Lazuli had a good childhood where she mostly spent it being with her sister and mom. Lazuli spent a lot of her time reading. Due to Alfred going on Rescuer missions often which takes a couple of days, Lazuli was upset that he couldn't be with her. On April of 2004, Lazuli attended school in Sandgem Town along with her sister for the first time.

In 2006 during summer break, Lapis planned a family event where they'd all go to Lake Verity to have a picnic which got her and Leaf excited. Unfortunately Alfred called Lapis to let her know that he couldn't make it due to his Rescuer mission lasting longer than expected so when she broke the news to the girls they were upset with Lazuli being more upset about it than Leaf. On the day of the event as the family went to Lake Verity, Lazuli was upset the entire way there and even when they got there she still was upset. When Lapis asked what was wrong, Lazuli yelled about Alfred not being with them before running off. Eventually she stopped running and soon was found by Leaf who she then talked with. Lazuli told her sister that she thinks Alfred doesn't love them and was visibly upset by this thought but Leaf manages to cheer her up. After thanking her sister she went back to where Lapis is to apologize for yelling at her. When Leaf came back to them and said she saw something at the lake, Lazuli thought she was seeing things.

One day when Alfred was home but was about to leave to go on another Rescuer mission, Lazuli went over to him and asked him why he keeps leaving. Alfred tries to have her go back to whatever she was doing before but she persisted. Alfred decided to answer her, saying he has a dangerous job where he takes down bad Pokemon. Lazuli asked him why he was doing this to which he tells her he's doing this to protect them and tells her the importance of protecting the ones they care about. Lazuli didn't understand to which Alfred said she'll understand when she gets older before leaving.

Two months later, Lazuli and Leaf were playing outside the house while Alfred was inside sleeping. The two heard the sound of a window breaking so they stopped playing and checked inside to which they find Lapis dead on the floor. The two started crying and shortly after, Alfred rushed into the room to see them crying and Lapis dead on the floor. He tells the girls to leave the house and hits Lazuli to a wall as he then threatens to burn them if he saw them again so the two sisters ran out of the house and started running away.

The sisters ran as fast and far as they can go and soon stopped in the forest by an rundown cabin that's outside of Oreburgh City. Lazuli helps comfort her sister, promising that she'll protect her and the two began gathering some things they'll need. Soon they come across the rundown cabin and decided to stay in there.

A year has passed since she and Leaf ran away from home. During that time they managed to clean up and fix up the cabin. Lazuli after some time has passed grew angry at the fact Alfred abandoned them and had a deep hatred for him now. The two visited Oreburgh City for the first time during that time as well and they saw there was a school there so they decided to enroll in it. On April of 2007 the two attended Oreburgh School.

While Leaf managed to make plenty of friends and had fun in school, Lazuli was a loner while there as she often scared anyone who approached her so nobody tried talking to her. Despite not having anyone to talk to other than her sister, Lazuli does overhear conversations about stuff like competitive battling and someone named Cynthia. Lazuli would get in trouble in school from time to time due to her now aggressive behavior as she would often threaten other students with violence or go too far in battle class. While most students didn't try talking to her, one student did which was Spike who Leaf had befriended. When Leaf introduced him to her, Lazuli was rude towards him however Spike didn't mind and fell in love with her because of her nasty attitude. Following this first meeting, Spike would often be around her or follow her while he in his own way acted overprotective over Lazuli which weirded her out.

Since Lazuli settled into the cabin, she has always been interested with Mt. Coronet as it was an important landmark and she wanted to see what was at the top. Leaf tells her not to go there as she's worried it's dangerous and that she might get hurt to which she listened to her sister. Even though Lazuli said she wouldn't go, her fascination with Mt. Coronet got the better of her so one day she left the cabin to head to there without telling Leaf. Lazuli headed to Mt. Coronet on foot and it wasn't an easy or safe trip. Walking to there took a couple of days so she would camp out. Eventually she got to the mountain started climbing it but as she was climbing it began to get colder and snow started to come down. Lazuli was freezing but didn't want to turn back after coming so close so she knew she needed to do something quick before she freezes to death. She looks around and finds an Ice Rock which she touches to evolve into a Glaceon. With her new form and resistance to the cold, Lazuli resumed climbing the mountain and after some time it stopped snowing and she finally reached the top.

As Lazuli was on the peak of the mountain she was greeted with the sight of ruins. She looked around the place for a bit but stopped when she heard someone coming up. She ran over to one of the pillars and hid behind it to hide from whoever was coming. After some time hiding, Lazuli peeked out from the pillar and saw that another Pokemon was here which was a female Garchomp who was examining the ruins of the place. Wanting to get a better look at this Pokemon, Lazuli tried sneaking closer but ended up making noise by accidentally kicking a small rock. The Garchomp heard the noise and Lazuli quickly hid back behind the pillar hoping the stranger didn't come over to where she was but unfortunately for her, she did and found her. Lazuli instantly becomes aggressive towards the Garchomp and threatens to hurt them but the stranger managed to calm her down as she assures her that she's not going to hurt her. The Garchomp introduces herself as Cynthia which Lazuli sort of recognized the name and she asks her what she was doing here all alone to which she says she just wanted to check the place out. Cynthia told Lazuli that she was at Spear Pillar and then began telling her about the history and legend of this place. As Cynthia was explained to her, Lazuli was really interested in with the history of this place which she says to her. After Cynthia finished telling her about Spear Pillar, Lazuli thought it was time for her to go and thanked Cynthia for telling her about the place but before she left, Cynthia decided to drive her back to Oreburgh City after learning she walked from there to Mt. Coronet. Couple of hours later the two made it to Oreburgh City and before Cynthia left she gave Lazuli a book on Sinnoh's history. After that, Cynthia drove away and Lazuli began heading home after being away for several days.

When Lazuli got back home, she reunites with Leaf but doesn't recognize her at first due to her being a Leafeon now. Leaf didn't recognize her own sister either but after some clearing up, the younger sister hugged Lazuli as she cries saying she was worried about her. Lazuli who was feeling bad for making her sister feel this way promised to not leave her alone again.

Ever since Lazuli got that history book from Cynthia and read it she became a fan of history as she would read a lot of history books.

On January 22, 2013, Lazuli and Leaf graduated from school. Lazuli knew she needed a job to make money so she decided to become a postmon. While she was doing her job, Lazuli wanted Leaf to stay at the cabin as she didn't want her to be in trouble in the city while she's busy doing work. Unfortunately for Lazuli, Spike also became a postmon a few weeks after she became one and would often try to work together with her but she would usually just run off. Sometimes during break or after work, Lazuli would stop by the Oreburgh Gym to watch the battle that was happening. Lazuli has considered becoming a competitive battler but didn't want to leave her sister behind and be far away from her.

On June of 2016, Lazuli was assigned a special task where she had to go to Sandgem Town to deliver a package for Professor Rowan. On her way there she stopped by the cabin to make sure Leaf was alright and when she asked her if she can come with her, she allowed her to. The two made it Sandgem Town and after delivering the package, Lazuli wanted to go home but Leaf convinced her to look around for a bit. As they looked around the town, they saw a competitive battle team who were just about to leave town but two members got into a fight and one of them ran off. Leaf wanted to help but Lazuli didn't as it wasn't their problem but Leaf went after the Pokemon who ran off anyway while Lazuli stayed behind and talked with the other Pokemon about why he was fighting with his teammate. Lazuli confronts the Pokemon as he was the reason why the other Pokemon got mad and told him to make things right before going after her sister. Lazuli finds Leaf and the Pokemon she went after and they returned back to town where the other Pokemon apologized to the other. After the two Pokemon thanked the sisters, they returned back to their cabin where on their beds when Leaf asked if they'll be able to go on more adventures like that in future Lazuli says only time will tell.

A few weeks later after Lazuli clocked out of work and began running back home in a hurry to make sure Leaf was alright and in her hurry she accidentally tackles Speed who was looking for Flare to which she quickly apologizes and runs off (CH1 reference). Eventually Lazuli returned to the cabin where Speed and the rest of the team were and she and Speed instantly got into a verbal argument. When the team told Lazuli and Leaf about their past adventures, she was slightly intrigued. When the Eeveelution Squad won against the Oreburgh Gym and Leaf told Lazuli that she wanted to travel with the team, Lazuli had no interest at first but then decided to tag along only to look after her sister and says she don't plan on becoming buddies with anyone on the team. Soon she became a member of the Eeveelution Squad along side Leaf.

Lazuli's Journey In Diamond and Pearl, Lazuli make her debut and joins the Eeveelution Squad. She meets the team at her cabin and then joins the team after they won again the Oreburgh Gym a few days later. At first when she joined the team Lazuli acted aggressive and rebellious, often snapping at them and not listening to them in battle. Lazuli does learn that she has to listen to the team sometimes after losing a bunch for doing her own thing. Over the course of the Sinnoh journey, Lazuli becomes less aggressive and opens up more after bonding with each member of the team, specifically with Speed and Crystal. Lazuli has a rival with an Ice Type Pokemon who is on Shade's team.

In Black & White, Lazuli begins to have feelings for Speed however she is in complete denial about it and acts like a tsundere (A verbal one, not a physically abusive one). Lazuli reunites with Alfred after many years and meets Ashia for the first time. Unlike Leaf who forgave him quickly after he explained why he kicked them out, Lazuli wasn't as forgiving. Throughout the Unova journey, Lazuli would run into Alfred and Ashia several times where she would grow a bond with Ashia and slowly forgives her dad.

In Battle Frontier, after Lazuli accepted her feeling for Speed at the end of the team's Unova journey her feelings for him causes her to become a bit of a mess on the team. Lazuli becomes distracted a lot during battles and Contest so she can't focus which often leads to her messing up. She learns to put her feelings aside for important stuff like battling.

In XY, when Silvia joins the team and is often with Speed, Lazuli would get jealous but doesn't do much. Her feelings for Speed aren't as bad as before since she's able to control it. Lazuli does attempt to make advances on Speed but due to not ever being in a romantic situation she's pretty bad at it. By the end of Kalos she realizes that Speed probably wouldn't feel the same way as her and decides to let go of her feelings for him and just stay friends.

In Sun & Moon, Lazuli learns to appreciate life as well as the Pokemon around her which is her team who she starts to see as family. During the Alola journey, Lazuli along with Leaf get to reunite with Lapis thanks to Tapu Fini and got closure with her.

In Sword & Shield, Lazuli encounters Zacian and Zamazenta with Leaf during the beginning of the team's Galar journey with her encountering the latter Pokemon. Lazuli helps Sonia piece together the mystery behind an event known as the "Darkest Day".

In Master Journeys, like with everyone else, Lazuli was against Speed's plan for the team to split up to train but is eventually convinced that it's for the best as they need to get stronger to get through the Ultra Class of the World Championship Series.

Number #1: KEEP IT LOOSE AND SIMPLE drawing at its simplest form is just a bunch of shapes making out together and something something wow it’s a cool drawing. I think what people struggle with when learning anatomy is that they jump straight into details when sketching when that’s the easiest way to make mistakes. Too often do you get caught up in details way too early and that bites you in the ass later because you've already solidified your mistakes. You gotta give your drawings a skeleton (keeping it simple) before making it an actual person (adding details/fleshing it out), me thinks.

Number #2: USING/TRACING REFERENCES I fully endorse tracing (photos of real people - not others’ art lol) over photos AS LONG AS you're breaking down all the components into basic shapes, otherwise you're not learning anything. I find it really helpful in creating consistency/habit on how people are supposed to look and then applying it into your own drawings and style. 

This would be my main tip because it was what I was doing a lot of before trying to find a style that I like drawing in lol

Number #3: RANDOM STUFF!!!

Another random thing is I would also highly recommend watching Sinix Design 's video(s) on perspective and anatomy.

Can I be honest?

I really do not care about Missing Link.

I'll admit that the most recent trailer probably made me more interested in it than I ever have been before, but even then I'm just kind of like... ehh.

And this is for a few reasons, I think.

A large one being that it's a mobile game. And I shouldn't have to explain why that's a huge reason as to why that's helping to kill my interest in this game, even though it looks like this game should be a lot better than KHUX and Dark Road, thankfully (but I'm also somewhat reserving judgement on all of that until we get it).

The fact that it's a game like Pokémon Go was also sort of ruining things for me, since I really can't walk well anymore. But according to the trailer and Nomura, it seems like that you don't really have to travel in order to do things in the game. So we'll see how that pans out.

But I guess I'm just getting to the place where some casuals were before, were--in some ways--if it's not about our main cast, I almost feel like I can't be bothered (and I do feel bad about that, in some ways).

I'm somewhat tired, I suppose, of having to play a million different games, in order to understand the next mainline installment. And I know this is just one between III and IV (if you don't count the Re:Mind DLC and Melody of Memory), but it does sort of feel a bit like "same old, same old" to me.

I also just... I don't know. Really feel like we didn't need this part of the timeline filled in? And I would almost prefer if that wasn't happening, so it could be a mystery and we could imagine it for ourselves? I feel like the only reason it's being filled out now is because of the Scala ad Caelum stuff in KHIII. And probably because this next saga is partly going to be saving the people from the KHX saga. But if we didn't get Missing Link, that plot point could have been delivered in another game.

Now we're just going to get more characters introduced, and clutter up the roster even more, and gah!

I know this game is surely to partly tide us over until KHIV, which is definitely nice. But IDK. I, personally, would have rather had one of the plot lines they teased at the end of Re:Mind as a game (Kairi's training with Aqua, Mickey in Scala, the Wayfinder trio in the Realm of Darkness, or Naminé looking for clues about Sora's whereabouts in Roxas and Xion's memories). Or waited a bit more and just gotten KHIV and then the Verum Rex game (both as console games, of course), because you know they have to be making both of these games right now.

I really don't mean to complain. Because I know a lot of time and work has surely gone into this. And it's something. And I'd rather take something over nothing (for the most part. Don't start giving me KH NFTs, Square). But unless something changes, there's nothing about Missing Link so far that's really grabbed me, personally.

And maybe it will. I'm sure it will, eventually. It won't take much to do it. But the fact it's a mobile game will always hurt it. It's weird to say, but I kind of miss the days of the handheld KH games. At least they were better quality. Oy.

Edit: And back to my one point, I feel Missing Link is going to add even more to the KHIV stuff now, when there's already so much it needs to conquer that I have no idea how it's going to do it all. Like, I was thinking that maybe some of the point of Missing Link was to flesh out this new saga... but there's already so much going on here.

Edit 2: However, Missing Link, and all the stuff with the story of Scala ad Caelum, seems to be a story Nomura-san wants to tell. And that is most definitely his right.

Massive devlog update 2!

Alright, I finally got around to making this! This is a continuation of my last update, which you can find here . Without further ado, let's start where we last stopped.

Here are separate areas of the building. They're a little plain for now, but I plan on fleshing them out a little bit in the future.

You can save your game at the well! This is what's behind the main building. Once again, I think it looks nice *for now*, but I plan on changing it later.

A cute little secret area! That's it for this part of the game, though, so let's move forward.

Just realized I forgot to add a way back into the compound area /)_-

But that doesn't matter because now we have a battle tutorial!

The tutorial goes on, and it's probably way longer than necessary tbh (>w<) The basic battle mechanics are explained, it isn't too hard to grasp considering it's just the basic RPGM 2003 system. I'm not smart enough to come up with a unique battle style lol.

I did take a little bit of inspiration from OFF and added an ability that lets you get a better look at your opponents.

The tutorial goes on to explain what the sigil next to his name means. Basically, every enemy that appears in game will have a special sigil next to their name notifying what their "aspect" is. Aspects are just bootlegged pokemon types, lmao. The current aspects are Glass, Blood, Light, and Sight. That info doesn't make a lot of sense on its own, but it's aaaaall gonna be incorporated into the lore.

We are now out here in the desert! Fun fact about the desert, when I played through the game to get these screenshots, I got lost. I then realized 500x500 was maybe a bit big for a map. I've since made it a lot smaller, and it's way less easy to get lost now.

The desert is very big. And there are lots of different things you can find. Like these fun, perfectly uniform human skulls!

But that's enough messing around. To get out of the desert, you just need to find statues like these and then follow the path down.

Now they can have a cute little campfire.

Woo, we made it to the end of the desert! And to the end of the Tumblr picture limit. There's still a good amount of stuff after this point, but it might be a little while before I make another update. I'm gonna start my new job in a couple of days, so I'm gonna spend most of my time preparing for that and getting used to my new routine. I'll still be working on the game when I can, though.

i will probably be able to speak tomorrow.

not that i'm really incapable but it seems to be hurrying along the healing. i just cut my hair too much probably, just my bangs but at least they have the shape right i think. finally straight, straighter than normal at least... i'm sure tomorrow i am going to cry about it so much and talk about wanting to die but it will grow out, with time... hopefully.

i just had to pluck my eyebrows, because of the bangs... it's for the best. hopefully these do not look bad... i am worried they will but i just hafta wait until tomorrow to start really going crazy.

i also did a lot of music stuff today, which was good, fixed some sounds/made them a lot better i think, ummm, fleshed out one song a ton more, has a proper ending and it's also edited down a bit which feels good. it's a song with two weird halves and it's sub 2 minutes. maybe that makes it totally illegible? especially the back half... that'll be a bother for tracking vocals, i'll get lost, but maybe i just try something a little slower, i imagine i'll figure something out, i always make myself figure something out, even when it hurts.

just wrote lyrics for this song... feeling good about it. figured out a way to approach the freaky parts. worrying about my hair again. i'm just #stupid ignore me. everyone's gonna think i'm so ugly (it won't be think it will be 'know' they will know i'm ugly (i always think they always do know though (people say i'm pretty hopefully i am and the stupid hair doesn't actually reveal anything etc etc etc. (i do not enjoy that my mind will do this)))).

i slept a lot today and i had like 3 dreams but i only wrote one down, it takes a lot out of me to write them to be honest. idk why. if i have memories of the third one i had after this i'll put them down but here is the first:

getting a job in the lego store, a coworker from my last job was there, we helped people pick out bricks at a kind of bar thing, in a mall. blue interior. mall felt far away from right there, a skybox or something almost. we had one annoying customer, this really picky girl, i was the nicest to her, she was asking for expensive pieces but was always shocked by them being too spendy, the ones she wanted most i think were these long curved white pieces meant to guard a ball from escaping a kind of rink; visions of an ad for the set the pieces were from, balls shot forth into an arena and bouncing with energy, two figures competing over the balls. she wanted them because they seemed pretty to her i think, the smooth surface fascinated her. i explained other stuff she might get but this was all she wanted. we slept in a kind of barracks, in the back of the store, i had to get up early, my coworker came and woke me and rushed me out into the store, i couldn't do my face or hair or shower at all and i was really bothered by this and felt so ugly. we both went to piss but the line was so long and the bathrooms were so overcrowded, we fought our way in, 3 men pissed in the urinals, and then they disappeared with the urinals, evaporating or... they sort of thinned, like a transformation in gimp, pngs getting thin and tall, into nothing, fading too, a mist sucked back into a hose. some piss splashed on my face, i used water and soap to clean myself off, we pissed, washed hands, the only place left to piss in there this grid of toilets without any privacy. there were stalls but they all were occupied forever and we couldn't wait because our shift would start too soon. in the store we were all talked with by a manager, there was a thief among the crew, we then had to do this thing with platforming, climbing onto and around the mall, there was a long trail in the sky, many things swollen with grey, cloudy day, a mass of things from the world, desks, buildings, fridges. everyone told me i was incredible at the climbing, they treated me like i was mythic but there were people ahead of us and didn't quite understand. it was a video game, when i moved around it was in 3rd person, there was a kind of grid that started glowing when i hovered over something that could be grabbed, kind of a super graphically signposted shadow of the colossus on the ps1. in the sky, in the swirling trail of debris, a big creature was on a floating island in the sky, grassy, we had to climb the creature too, many ahead of me by now, we got close but all fell off a moving platform, tumbling to earth. mysterious and holy thing, the creature felt really special to see even from afar, like seeing a mountain you've only seen photos of. looked like the walking mausoleums from elden ring. the sky really reminded me of the sky in sotc also, that kind of bright white from clouds, melancholic, as we fell, passing through limbs of clouds, there was this thing that was like leveling up while falling, stats went up and that made me learn things that seemed like spells? i wanted to try and climb again, but woke up. also in the dream, for some reason i was blonde.

the third dream is far vaguer now, but i was in japan w/ my gf and friends, she gave me 70 yen, enough for like some kind of canned drink. i had to find a job, so i went to this place to work with people who drove long haul trucks. we did that, i got a few shifts in, but never knew how or when i'd get paid. i was scared about that and became someone else, he was wandering in the hotel we were staying in, it was like killer7, getting lost in a level in killer7, but the hotel was also hosting an anime con, like a western one, with a lot of white people, a lot of people in gothic lolita outfits, a japanese guest of honor, some vkei guy was there, in a banquet hall, i kept moving through trying to find the hotel room we were in. the hallway to the hotel room, long and thin, that strange quality of going for too long that all hotel hallways have, a super nowhere zone, the walls were reddish or pinkish, something deep. there was something in the dream constantly getting lost. always lost.

Okay, so, cat out of the bag, let's talk about it.

Here's the first half of this spoiler:

Lucius kills Nathan at the end of Chapter Twelve.

I've received more messages about this than anything I've ever written (except maybe Alek's death in Blood Moon) so I want to take a moment to address some of those.

No.

If Nathan is in the room, Lucius will kill him.

I'm not sure about this. I need to do some thinking and play testing and decide if there is going to be a proper alternative path around this. I'm not 100% sure if I want there to be an alternative at this stage.

There is one way to bring him back.

Which brings me to the second half of this two part spoiler:

MC can turn Nathan into a vampire.

I decided over a year ago that I wanted the MC to have to make a choice between losing a human, or turning them. Of all the human characters, Nathan is the one that has the most to lose from this transformation... and so he's the one with the most narrative potential.

It's been in the code for a while, and I've been hinting to it a wee bit in Nathan's route.

However, I understand that some people don't like this/didn't have the best time at first/are a little on the fence about this. I totally get that.

I didn't do it to punish the player. I promise. I did it because I thought it would be the best story for that character and would fit with the themes of the bigger, broader narrative.

This I think I need to explain because I really think I fucked it up.

Yes, there was a version of the demo in which Nathan seemed to survive... at least until Chapter 13.

In my first draft of Chapter 12 he died right at the end just like he does now. Then, because the tone of Chapter 13 was a bit lighter, happier, I thought maybe it would be better if he death happened at the end of Chapter 13. So, I changed it, which resulted in a version of the demo where he survived Chapter 12 ,and when the player can send him (clearly bleeding) to hospital or ignore him.

In this version, Chapter 13 ended with Lucius mocking MC, telling them that their weak fledgling ears hadn't noticed that Nathan's heart was struggling. He was dying, either way.

But... I didn't like this. It felt like either he'd die off screen, which didn't feel right for the character, or he'd die in front of you if you didn't actually care about him, which meant players who witnessed his death would probably not be players who were romancing him, or very interested in resurrecting him.

So, I added a 'grief' variable, toggled out all the happier stuff in Chapter 13 for grieving characters, and reverted back to Plan A... and that unfortunately meant people saw a version of the game where it seemed like Nathan could be saved and then played again and he died which... wasn't great on my part. I'm sorry.

However, despite my awful execution, I have gotten a lot of positive messages too.

Which, honestly, I've needed these messages. I've been a little worried that I messed up big time, so it's really reassuring to know some people are vibing with this idea.

Here's some other FAQ:

I don't see why not. They can totally nibble on each other once Nathan's a little more comfortable... but that might take a bit of time. He's still processing, still angry.

The tattoos are a thing I ummed and ahhed about a wee bit. Because vampires heal perfectly... as long as they have all their bits. This meant, in order to destroy the magic in the tattoos Tracy and MC had to cut out bits of his skin (because vampires don't regenerate, aka, grow back new limbs or organs or skin tissue). So, Nathan will always have red lines running through his tattoos where slices of his skin were removed in order to break the spell. They won't 'heal' properly because there's missing flesh.

I hope that makes sense.

I don't know if there is a version of the game where a not-vampire Nathan is there for the final showdown with the king. I need to do some replays and figure out if it's possible. It may be, in which case... yes. He'll get the kiss.

This would be so funny, and yes, technically possible.

While I was initially very negative on Starfield, I find myself playing more and more of it recently. I'm still negative about it, but it did get me hooked (and I got better at aiming with a controller instead of keyboard and mouse). Some random notes.

First of, the Bethesda RPG has always been a game is broad but shallow. Lots of world, lots of different mechanics, lots of lore and story, but generally nothing of it is that in-depth. There's not much moral decision making; the only thing that goes into much depth is combat; you find a lot of places but you can quickly tell that they're made out of the same basic building blocks; stories are ultimately fairly straightforward and so on.

Between the past three games, each of them have found different balances between breadth and depth. I'm going to count Skyrim as the default because I didn't get far into Morrowind and never played Oblivion or Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and Skyrim has a balance that I personally like a lot.

Fallout 4 goes for less breadth, more depth. Compared to Skyrim's four major and four minor cities, F4 essentially has just two cities on a level even vaguely approaching, say, Whiterun. There are far fewer companions, but they are better written, better fleshed out and just way more fun to hang out with. Back in Skyrim the closest we had to a good companion was Serena, and looking back, that's not that much. Where Fallout 4 added a lot of stuff was base building, and I spent way too many hours there.

Starfield is mechanically way closer to "Fallout 4" in space than to "Skyrim in space", from the weapons with the millions of different types of ammunitions through the levelling system and so on. But on the shallow/deep scale, it is incredibly broad and very shallow, and it shows.

Three cities sounds better than Fallout 4, but among all the many planets, it's hardly a lot. And while these cities are bigger than what you see elsewhere, they're also still not that big, featuring sci-fi city, sci-fi Wild West city, and the least impressive cyberpunk dystopian city ever.

But my main issue is with all the other places in the world. No matter where you are on a planet, you're typically between 500 and 1000 m from something, and that something is typically a human-built thing. And 99.9% of the time, that human-built thing is boring. Some abandoned facility overrun with gangsters. Some outpost full of people all named "Colonist" or "Scientist" with exactly one auto-generated quest. You can visit these places, but there is generally no reason to.

Sometimes you think, "oh, I found a place with the trademark Bethesda environmental storytelling", but then it doesn't actually tell a story. I found a mine where some disaster happened. All the miners were dead, but apparently from different reasons. There was no audio log or similar explaining what happened, no story here. I never found what the deal with that mine was…

…until a few hours later, when I found that very same mine again. Different planet, this time the rocks were orange instead of grey, but it was the same mine, the same layout, the same NASA lab coat under the bed, and the same dead miners in the same poses died by the same fallen barrels. In retrospect that makes sense, there are way too many locations on the planets, of course they're gonna repeat (I also saw the same Helium generating station twice). But it once more tells me, "oh, right, exploring here was actually pointless".

Exception exist, but even the bespoke unique places don't tell that much of a story. The scrap operation set up around a former battle site full of destroyed giant mechs? Yeah, the story there is you talk to a guy, and that guy will sell you a map, and that's it. Some great visuals, though. Another example: I've found two abandoned luxury destinations, a zero-G casino and an island resort. Both overrun with pirates. What's the story between them? What's their secret? Well, there doesn't seem to be any, it's just a nice-looking place. We can guess at some secrets to pass the time, but that's it.

For example, the island resort is clearly meant to be a sleazy thing with lots of stripper poles throughout and discarded clothes and money around them. But the only non-pirate person was the corpse of the owner, and there don't seem to be any sleep rooms for anyone who isn't a visitor. Clear implication: Clearly the owner was doing all the stripping. The bigger mystery there is that the place has an outdoor lounge and pool area, on a planet with zero oxygen in the atmosphere. How did that work? Or will I eventually find the same exact establishment, with a different name, on a different planet?

So why am I playing anyway? Well, because of base building and Factorio. The base building here is very limited, sometimes for plausible reasons (I guess it makes sense that you can't freely build houses, only stick predefined modules together; makes it easy for the game to track what is safe indoors and what is potentially lethal outdoors) and sometimes for no good reason (give me ladders and walkways! Why can I stack storage thingies six layers high if I can't access them afterwards!?). The Factorio elements, where I find resources, then build transport links, then build constructors that automatically assemble things, that's just fun, at least for me personally (note: I am weird). It is arguably pointless, at least as far as I can tell right now, because you don't actually need the built stuff for anything. I assume "automatic manufacturing of all that goddamn ammunition" will be in an expansion pretty soon.

- The most fleshed out plot I have rn is the main one with Nightmare’s reluctant scheming, but obviously, I cannot say much there. It’s more of an issue of actually writing it than it is of any planning. Cuz hoo boi have I got plans for him muhahahah. I have talked about it all to one friend on discord, so have the meme I tortured them with for now :D

As you can see, most I have is a lot of puzzle pieces and nothing to attach them to lmao! Even so, I do love where this series has gone, and I do wanna continue it. Nirvana - Something In The Way (Live at the BBC): when listening through last month's album ranking, this performance caught me. something in the way is one of the more underrated tracks from nevermind (or at least it was before the new batman movie lol). truthfully there's nothing too out of the ordinary with this performance but i like how kurt's voice sounds on the chorus especially <3

Umphrey's McGee - National Loser Anthem: i LOVE mashups that are actually recorded by someone else instead of sticking the tracks together (both kinds are good but this type is underappreciated). this is the opener to this album and it introduces the mastercraft on display so well...

Papa Roach - Scars: i don't even have anything nice to say about this song other than that it's super catchy. i actually got it in my head bc i had been listening to the laura les remix lol

Europe - The Final Countdown: okay everyone SHUT UP. i know this is a fucking sports stadium anthem but i dont give a shit about that!! when i was 11 years old and only just starting to listen to music, this was one of the only songs i knew. everyone only knows the chorus (which is really good) but if you actually listen to the lyrics it's this heartwrenching power pop track about leaving earth and dealing with the complicated emotions that would come with that...... you wouldn't get it................

They Might Be Giants - Hide Away Folk Family: tmbg was one of the first bands i ever listened to (explains a lot tbh) but i only knew a little bit of their stuff from like the 90s and 00s, so i wanted to go back and check out some old school material. i liked this album a lot, and the chorus to HAFF stuck in my head big time

Avatar: The Last Airbender Critique

There are already a million of posts like this one, and I might be saying things that’ve already been said a million times but I’ve recently become reheated about the ATLA ending and wanted to let it out -_- No one asked, this is true, and this may or may not be a way to stall from this final project I still have to complete, but here’s 10 things I didn't like and/or would change about the show that likely shouldn’t need changing because they should have been done in the first place.

1. Katara should have apologized to Sokka after TSR

It should have happened and it didn't. In my canon-avoiding mind, Katara and Sokka have a heartfelt conversation where she apologizes for the awful things she said, Sokka says he forgives her and he's sorry if he wasn't as there for her as much as he should have been, which he follows up with "but I'm happy you listened to Aang and took his advice," leading into my next point

2. Katara should have said that not killing Yon Rha was her choice

And thats why it was the right one. Not because Aang already said it was wrong. No no. It was the right choice because that's what she chose. I love my mom to death and can't imagine losing her in any way, let alone the way Katara did. And I can't say for sure that if I was in her shoes that I know what I would have done f that yes I do I would have killed that motherfucker. But I also know that if Katara decided not to kill him, then that was one of two correct choices because they were Katara's choices to make. Not Aang's or anyone else's and this should have been clarified. I know it's a kids show but I said what I said. Next point.

3. Katara should have said more after telling Aang she was unsure at the Ember Island Players

Katara hasn't had any trouble saying how she feels, especially when it comes to helping others and making them feel better, whether she was right or wrong. But she holds back or overly softens blows and seems to even shrivel up at times when it comes to Aang. And me no likey. I had a boyfriend who I adored and admired and just genuinely looked up to. I'm also a shy and anxious person who hates confrontation, but because I loved him, I never refrained from telling him when he was wrong. I might have been a little shaky about it but I did it tho because when you want to be with someone you walk through the grass and stomp through the mud. And I personally feel like either in that moment or later on in an added scene that Katara should have voiced to Aang how unheard and disrespected she felt about his words before TSR and his actions on the balcony. I hate being uncomfortable and my secondhand embarrassment is toxic but I would love to see a scene of this. I always imagined Katara saying stuff like "But I'm not you Aang, and I'm not an Air Nomad," or "Zuko could understand why I needed to go, and I'd hoped you would too," or...I'm out of ideas but you get the idea. And you know what, I know I'm a hard Zutara shipper, but them having this conversation would honestly make me respect their relationship a whole lot more should it be believably written to end on a good note (I don't see how it could be but hey I'm an open minded person and I did think they were cute together once upon a time). Basically, all I'm saying is that Katara is no small voice and she should have been written that way when with Aang. Boyfriends can make you shy but should never make you weak. Period. Next point.

4. No rock! ONLY GROWTH!!!!!!!!!!!

I still squint my eyes whenever I remember that rock that unblocked Aang's chakra. What even was that? The laziest writing possible in my opinion. That's what. And Aang deserved better. What should have happened should have been that Aang started to lose to Ozai. And then as Ozai's about to deliver the finishing blow, Aang has flashbacks of everyone he's trying to save and honor, ending with a very prominent flashback of Katara with the guru's disembodied voice reminding Aang to let go of his attachments to become all he needs to be...then BOOM! Baby boy is back on his feet, chakra unblocked, he kicks Ozai's ass, I'm crying hysterically on the floor, as are the rest of us, and he wins. Then at the end of the series, instead of a kiss, he gives Katara an apology. She accepts, everyone else comes to join them on the balcony, cinematic group hug, camera pan into the sun. I don't know lol. Basically what I'm saying is that Aang did not deserve some deus ex machina. He deserved to grow and become his best self like everyone else got to.

5. Aang should have heard differently in The Storm

Katara is a very fate-minded person and this is when I saw potential for her to become a toxic character in regards to Aang. When he admits that he ran away from home 100 years ago, Katara tells him that that was basically a good thing because he was meant to be here and now. Like...no? What Aang did, though understandable for someone so young, was still wrong. Yes he would have maybe been killed but I'm like 10000000% sure they had a plan to protect and evacuate the literal avatar. And what was technically "meant to be" was a new avatar. But hey, what's done is done and kicking Aang while he's down is a no-no in this household. But that doesn't change the fact that Aang needed and deserved honesty. Maybe the fisherman could have said this, I don't know, but I feel like Aang should have been told by someone that although running away was wrong, it's a blessing he and Appa were able to survive and be able to help save the world now with his amazing friends found-family. Maybe this is too harsh, and maybe even outright wrong, but I felt like Aang deserved a truer answer here to support and comfort him.

7. Spiritual sigh*

Don't make me go into detail -_- I will say though that although Aang and Katara are both amazing individuals capable of earth shattering things, they were not a healthy fit for one another. This is evident in the original series and especially in their children from LOK. They both deserved the best but better than one another.

8. ZUTARAAAAAAA

This is a Zutara blog you KNEW this was coming, as it should. There's just too much. There's too damn much. I would give a real paragraph to this too, but, I mean, there's already so much proving that this was the pair. Fics, metas, rants, this site. Scroll through my blog or any of the ATLA related blogs I follow and...dude. These two were meant to be together and I'll mourn the narrative brilliance WASTED for no good reason every day for the rest of my life. No reason these two shouldn't be married with three kids. sob. I will take this part to say thank you to the amazing fic writers that gave Katara, Zuko, Mai, and Aang what they deserved that the writers didn't have the guts to give them themselves. Next point tho.

9. AANG AND ONJI

Good God almighty. Why not this? WHY NOT THIS? I'm putting on my bullet proof vest and I'm going to say this; Aanji is cuter than Zutara. Now before you scorn me or whatever, let me explain. Zutara for me is like steak. No. Chicken parmesan. I like chicken parmesan better. The point though is that Zutara is savory. You know? I don't see them as cute, I see them as Obviously. Aanji on the other hand is like a bag of my favorite candy. They are like a brownie. A cookie. Girl Scout Samoas!...I don't know what words are anymore. This post got way out of hand. I guess what I'm saying is that for Zutara, I scream, but for Aanji, I squeal. I hope that makes sense. But here's the main point I want to make. Onji never knew who Aang really was. And Aang was always, at his core, himself. She very obviously had a crush on Aang for his personality and that was crazy cute and frankly preferable to Katara's "I...guess he is." (you know exactly what I'm talking about) Anyway, I kept wanting more of them together. I wish all the time that we'd gotten to see her again, with a more fleshed out character and all. And in the way that I imagine the show should have gone, she could have been the perfect love interest for Aang, during this episode or way later, even in the comics! Another WASTED opportunity for greatness and I will, again, never recover T-T

10. Iroh get your ass back here

Maybe this is a misguided critique but I hated that Iroh just left Zuko alone in the fire nation at the end of the series. Baby was in trouble in every sense of the word and Iroh was just like "See ya! You got this nephew." I'm expected to believe that? I'm expected to accept that? No no no. He should have at least stayed for a few years to help Zuko stay upright and, you know, alive. And by "upright" I don't mean "good." I just mean been there to support him because Lord knows he needed it, at least in the beginning of his reign. It was cute that Iroh was able to settle down with his own teashop after all those years of violence and mourning and running and this and that. I was more than happy for him for being able to have that peace finally. But I still think it could have waited a little while longer so he could support Zuko.

Ugh, host hopping is no fun, I want to go back to Eddie but we agreed to give each other space "why do you never learn to keep your mouth shut" I mentally scolded myself. Whoa, wait a second. What did I just feel? Like something just ran into me but nothing's there? Something's wrong.. Eddie! I need to find him NOW. "Oh, hello Venom" she said quietly, "what are you doing away from Eddie?" she added. "No time to explain but I think he's in trouble and I need you to get me to him" I explained. Anne nodded in approval and I over took her body, I'm not sure where I'm going but I'll figure that out once I'm back with Eddie

"Do you have any idea where Eddie is?" Anne asked, as I made her move. "No.. just a feeling, a feeling that something is wrong" I replied. Eddie cleared his throat "th.. thank you V" he muttered with a smile. "All in a days work" I replied. "Eddie" Anne started, "what the hell happened to you?". "Well, I..." he stuttered, "spit it out" I interrupted. "I got hit by a truck. I saw a little girl run out into the street and.. I shoved her out of the way and took the hit myself.. and let me tell ya, that kinda stuff hurts a lot more without this big guy around" Eddie explained, gesturing to me. Anne chuckled "oh Eddie, always trying to be the hero". "Maybe the next time you plan on cheating death you could.. oh i don't know.. bring me along" I explained. "Sure thing buddy" Eddie laughed. Ah, it's good to hear that laugh again "now, lay down and keep still so I can finish healing you" I exclaimed, wrapping tendrils around Eddie's arms, legs and torso. "Oh and one more thing" I added, "promise me, we won't do anything this stupid again". Eddie smiled "yeah, promise V". "Good" I said, healing the rest of his wounds. It's good to have you back Eddie.
