being into sherlock holmes is so stupid like. yeah here's my blorbo, you don't know him. you think you do, but unless you've systematically fallen in love with him through the personal writings of his retired army doctor best friend you really don't. yeah. he's one of the most popular and well known characters in the world. I have interacted with at least 60% of the current fans. hey do you think he associates the sounds of waterfalls with death? do you think he'll ever get over that? I won't. good talk

the Ninth Doctor is definitely aro and maybe ace! from the latest boxset Star Crossed! (from the first episode, Swipe Left) and River's reaction to it!
(recent reactions to this post made me reconsider and my desire to only put down the facts made me understand that they only officially say he is aro, and the aceness is mostly implied, but either way!!! aromantic doctor saves the day!!!)
for years i had this headcanon and its so cool that they are actually making it offical, also of course its John Dorney like come on hehe
here so its not word of mouth anymore! the ninth doctor is officaly aro and maybe ace! (though here his aroness saves the day hehe)

listen I might sound crazy but you know how Aventurine would spend all of his money on his family were they alive? like they grew up poor- worse than poor, and he is always gambling yes- but he is also insanely rich. you just know he'd shower them in money and buy everything for them and that credits today have little to no meaning to him because he has gotten them too late. it wasn't "fast enough" to save them, to ease their lives. and you just know he regrets it, but still hoards more credits, gambling, earning, wasting, etc.
now allow me to draw a parallel to a character in gi most of the fandom doesn't like. dori. LET ME SPEAK- dori's sister died (in her arms) from an illness because her family didn't have enough money to buy the herbs prescribed for her sister's treatment and that is why Dori ends up cherishing every mora/money, turns in a mora hungry capitalist powerhouse and makes everything about her; just money. because she couldn't help her sibling when it mattered. also the "limitless mora" for her comes from receiving a bunch of items from Alice (Klee's mom) - they made a business deal, etc, just a detail.
and it is interesting how most of the fandom dislikes dori so much (meta wise I get it, and also some other povs), when the parallel to aventurine is a straight line and he is loved and liked by so many (granted, I love riney). no amount of mora/credits can bring their family member(s) back or fix what happened, yet they stay in it, hoarding more, be it due to our boy's luck, or Dori's deal and persistence. I know many ppl draw his line to Kaveh, but from this pov it is screaming Dori.
and yh his story is more tragic- but we are talking money rn ppl- stay focused;
here is where their characters differ in the money area. with how little regard he has towards the money, Aventurine, our Kakavasha is so kind, so so kind. he gives out freely, he doesn't give two shits while sending money to the TB (it is worth mentioning that he thinks he also HAS to do it, and that gifts and things of high material value are most appreciated, ex. the gifts the TB receives after become the captain of the ship in penacony. he sadly has a view of it that everyone needs to be given something in return, truly struggling with forming real friendships/relationships except with the TB and Ratio- which I'd love to go more into on another analysis), he openly shares his money to whomever- and in his contrast, dori would probably rather jump off a cliff than give a single gold mora coin to... well, anyone.
both have been through such tragedy and turned rich later on through various means- when it technically no longer matters to them as much as it could've mattered before- and to see one be indifferent towards it/see it as a means to an end & what ppl respond well to vs. the other be stingy to the point she is hurting people while doing it and purposefully putting them in debt (I hate you for what you did to Kaveh TWICE, dori.), makes a really interesting parallel made by hoyo ngl. thoughts?

I think Vivienne as a Divine is interesting because she really isn't faithful. You ask her about her faith and the Chantry, and her response is always a pragmatic argument about how people should live or about the Chantry as a political body. She never professes any belief at all in the Chant as scripture.

I get excited for sex as a viewer. The carnality of it is cool. The way my eyes dilate and i get elated when I see a wild animal rip into a piece of flesh in an animal doc is the same towards my general feeling around sex. Go tear that up

Currently in Korea visiting my in-laws. They finally get to meet their grandson. :)
Gotta say, it just scratches a special kinda itch seeing Detective Conan air on TV, rather than watching it on my computer. The dub is... interesting.... in that it's super localized, all the characters' names are Korean, and Shinichi's name is Nam Doyle. DOYLE. You couldn't have picked literally any other name for the protagonist?! Jimmy was a better compromise!!!

In other news, I was equal parts delighted and devastated to learn movie 2 was being re-shown in theaters here, but only in Seoul. I'm in Ulsan. ㅠㅡㅠ
I'll also still be here when the new movie releases (supposedly it releases a week afterwards here?) Guess I'll find out if that's only in Seoul, too, when the time comes.

Do the Noelle and Player conversations happen in a nondescript location, or a non-location?
When I first saw them (not on tumblr so I didn't see tags) I thought that they were in the weird non-space that Dess could(?) be inhabiting, and that thus the deer was Dess instead of Noelle.
also thought that the player was... Chara?? like it was a riff on the "Chara possessing Kris" theories from chapter 1??
yeah thats more or less the idea, they’re in some void-like Location (not necessarily gaster’d away like dess or something though) because everything that’s happening is mainly meant to be symbolic
i guess this is supported by noelle talking to a version of kris where they’re not there at ALL, just the soul is there. as if theyre completely unfiltered in a way
i also use this to justify noelle’s general Confidence in these situations (instead of freezing up) because its all ‘not real’? in a sense. Idk if that makes much sense though. maybe think of it as more like a dream. but its still real. with me here?

the only pride duo thoughts i ever have are about planet’s narrative on his video of spoke being this lonely thing retired from power-seeking while planet has to learn from that. vs spoke later on in the season crying out how planet was supposed to be Something More on s5 (which wasnt possible due to his later inactivity) almost like a ?? failed pet project lol

It's kinda funny that after the lawsuit while Buck keeps being surprised by the fact that Eddie isn't asking for him to prove himself worthy, Eddie keeps being surprised by the way Buck keeps apologizing. It really says a lot about the amount of effort they were trained to expect in relationships in very different ways.

Hi, so I was thinking about and as much I think shig and Izu are underveloped as fuck...I was thinking...what if the saving arc thing was in reverse?
Shig sees how the heroes mistreat Izu, who in his eyes must be the most innocent person in all this mess, and decides to save him?
Sure sure it would need some tweaks as Shig needs to stop being all destruction and be afo's bootlicker.
But imagine the idea
Shiga, a villain, is set to save a hero.
Imagine of the possibilities. And if we want a war...why not Izu and Shig against the hero society and the status quo?
Hi @mikeellee 👋
This is an interesting route to take shigaraki and izukus characters and dynamics in.
While I do perfer the idea that both izuku and shigaraki want to save each other believing that the other needs to be saved and that their method is the best.
This is an equally interesting scenario that would add more development and interest to just izuku wanting to save shigaraki because he saw a crying kid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For this scenario to occur there will be some adjustments required such as shigaraki coming to the conclusion that he wants to actually save something or someone instead of destroying everything. This can be easily achieved by having izuku and shigaraki interact more with shigaraki coming to know and understand izuku better as a person and vice versa. Shigaraki needs to understand izuku to a deep core level to even understand just how mistreated izuku was in the past and is kind of now.
You can start with shigaraki in the mall going to izuku for advice and have the interactions build up from there. Izuku won't tell anyone due to a variety of factors like not fully trusting adults and believing that its better if he were the one to talk to shigaraki since he isn't being harmed by him.
Ultimately, the closer they grow the more they share to each other and the more they see each others lives in different lenses which has shigaraki helping izuku see that the way he is being treated by bakugo is wrong and that all for one is just manipulating shigaraki.
Obviously, it would take a lot of development to even come to this point and it would be interesting to add obstacles within their paths whether that be the downfall of all for one and all might, the overhaul arc and the rise of the MVA , etc.
Finally, moving back to the first point the series would have an interesting irony in where a villain wants to and is willing to save a hero. Where a villain manipulated for the means of evil breaks that structure because he wants to save a hero, where a villain becomes more humane and heroic than the others, where a villain understands and develops helping change society for the greater good with the resources he has due to the MVA.
The same can apply to izuku but in the opposite way.

Batman: Under The Red Hood
I think this is a moment that reminds you that Alfred Pennyworth raised Bruce. Thomas Wayne was Bruce's father for so few years, he was young when they died, he probably doesn't remember much about him. The person that raised him the most was Alfred. So for better of worse Alfred is part of the creation of Batman.
