After the hurricane recovery is starting in the states and the damage is so bad in some places, they're either gone or don't have a single road left into town.

The power outage map for the states affected is honestly astounding. I actually know friends in southwestern Ohio that had a tornado/cyclonic thunderstorm from this system knock their power out.

Some places might not get power back for 2+ weeks.

The western half of North Carolina, where the Appalachian mountains are, is so badly damaged that some news stations are warning from any travel, and to consider every road closed until further notice.

Asherville is so damaged there seem to be almost no major roads left in or out of town.

The flooding from this storm is devastating and has destroyed entire towns and wiped some off the map. Damns and other infrastructure are failing all over the affected areas.

Until the flood waters recede sometime in the next few days, we won't have a full scope of just how badly people have been affected, nor will we have a final death toll.

Oh also, apparently the governor of Tennessee has not declared a state of emergency despite several places being catastrophically inundated. Instead he's done this, which is pissing a lot of people off.

Hey all! So, if you've been following me for any amount of time, you probably are already familiar with recent life events, and how badly American Airlines (fuck you) has screwed me over in making me have to leave my sweet little tabby cat, Bumper, home with my family in the states.

@territorial-utopia and I have been looking into pet travel services, because once I apply for a residency visa, I can't travel, and I can't really depend on my family to lend a hand in helping bring my cat here...

So! That's where all of you come in! I've got all sorts of commissions available, from my basic commission sheet, to specialty "borrower-ify" commissions, to even some stickers I've made, available on ko-fi! I know times be rough for alot of us right now, so I don't want to just ask for donations; hopefully you can help out (even if it's just sharing!) and get some nice art in return for your support!!

Sorry for not being more active on the reblog/interaction department these past few weeks. I gave in to the sus on twitter and then art block hit me like my dad's belt (on top of other irl shenanigans..)

I do really want to get started but it's impossible with current irl stuff getting in the way. Hopefully I can start doing requests in May, I hope. Shadowvanilla-related art request is welcomed though, I don't have enough mental strength for most things lately but doodling them revitalize me(?) I don't have time to give this thought the full discussion it deserves, but lord help me, I'm begging people to be able to grasp the concept of context when engaging with takes they find in the wilds of fandom spaces.

Just had to block someone I followed for a long time on twitter because I was forced to see "Yaoi can never be heteronormative because it's always two men" on my timeline, and honestly this is such a perfect encapsulation of fandom spaces' complete inability to handle nuance and keep issues inside their actual contexts that it just triggered my fight or flight response. 😂

"Masculinity [itself nothing more than a social construct] isn't inherently required for queer men or mlm relationships" and "Yaoi developed as a genre catering primarily to heterosexual women's fantasies, thus has a long history of projecting heteronormative expectations onto queer men's relationships" are both statements that can and should coexist, just like statements such as "Dismissing female characters as nothing more than fanservice undermines their narrative contributions" can and should coexist with "The designs of female characters rarely allow women the freedom to exist outside of sexual appeal to men."

If you can't consider an issue from within the full scope of its social context, you're not ready to participate in the discourse!

Storms! Friday 3/14 and Saturday 3/15

🇺🇸 there hasn't been a day 2 (tomorrow) high risk severe weather forecast since 13 years ago in 2012.

this has happened three times. ever.

tomorrow is looking to possibly be a significant tornado outbreak preceded by another tornado/wind storm outbreak today late into tonight.

The NWS does NOT use strong language unless they are certain something IS going to happen.

So for them to be this certain an outbreak is going to happen means /it is likely going to happen/

Today/Tonight

...SUMMARY... A regional outbreak of severe thunderstorms is likely this afternoon through tonight across parts of the Lower/Mid Mississippi Valley and portions of the Lower Ohio Valley and Mid-South. Numerous tornadoes, several of which could be strong to intense, widespread severe gusts ranging from 60 to 100 mph, and scattered large hail up to baseball size all appear likely.

Satruday/Tomorrow/Late Tonight

...SUMMARY... A tornado outbreak is likely on Saturday across the central Gulf Coast States and Deep South into the Tennessee Valley. Numerous significant tornadoes, some of which should be long-track and potentially violent, are expected on Saturday afternoon and evening. The most dangerous tornado threat should begin across eastern Louisiana and Mississippi during the late morning to afternoon, spread across Alabama late day into the evening, and reach western parts of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia Saturday night.

As of 4:20pm Friday, here is our tornado risk for Saturday. Hatched means SIGNIFICANT, EF2+ tornadoes.

30% hatched hasn't been used in a long ass time.

Tell your loved ones who live in these areas about the weather. Have a plan. Have a go bag.

Do you know where your pets' carriers are? Can you get them contained/leashed/moved during an emergency?

Do you know where your medications are if you need to shelter?

Ask yourself these questions before bad weather strikes.

My parents visited the Sedlec Ossuary last week and those guss have god-tier merch. Like, yeah, sure, they got funny T-shirts, but they also have fucking replica skulls.

Like, resin casts of real skulls from the ossuary, painted to match the stains on the real skull, and the proceeds from them go to maintaining the real skulls.

I kinda want to own a skull of a 17th century plague victim, ngl

So school’s always been overwhelming for me but today was just so stressful I had to doodle it!😥

The walk to school was extremely windy!

My brain just wouldn’t shut up during class

I froze up in my English presentation today. It was so embarrassing😢! I had practiced for this class but the introvert in me just decided to ruin everything!

Had a meltdown!

And then drew this because doodling helps me cope!

And I don’t freaking care about it because I’m already stressed out with other subjects anyways!

I just hope my fumbling doesn’t affect my grades! Pray for me!

School is a pain! Thought I’d share this here, maybe laugh at it later 🫠
