I pulled you closer to my chest. And you asked me to stay over, I said, “I already told ya, I think that you should get some rest.”

“I’m so tired.” She grumbled. Her body squirmed under the blankets as she tried to seek a comfortable position.

“I know.” Harry chuckled in response, his fingers traveling along the skin of her arm as he kissed her temple.

She hummed, her eyes once closed but when he responded she fluttered them open, eyes sparkling at the sight of him.

“You’re so pretty, Harry.” She laughed out, hand coming up to stroke his cheek, then reaching up to adjust his glasses.

She pulled him forward with her arm around his neck, digging her face into it, and he thanked Merlin she couldn’t see his red face then. He pulled her closer to his chest, arm wrapped around her back as she was once now flushed against him.

“You should stay the night.” She whispered, snuggling herself deeper into him as she kissed the skin of his neck.

He squirmed at the feeling, the tickle sensation spreading from the area she was kissing to his toes. He sighed once she stopped, having to stop the giggles that were threatening to leave his mouth.

He leaned back, taking his arm out from behind her back so she wouldn’t crush it and stroked her hair out of her face as he looked at her.

“I already told you,” he sighed. “you should get some rest.”

She groaned at his reminder, hands reaching up to ruffle his already messed up hair. She was gonna be honest, there wasn’t a time she saw it neat. That that she was complaining, his feisty hair was one of her favorite things about him.

She then pouted when her eyes met his. He chuckled at her stubbornness, shaking his head at her.

“Don’t look at me like that, I have to go back to Ron.” He reminded with a teasing warning look.

“I was hoping you would stay when I gave you the puppy eyes.” She said, putting the show on again. He shook his head once again as an answer.

She pouted deeper, her eyes dropping before she gained composure again to hide the fact she was tired.

“Rude.” She muttered, dropping her hands from his hair.

He laughed on how cute she looked, kissing her pout away with a soft kiss to the lips.

When you looked over your shoulder

Harry could hear the shuffling from the seat next to him, his lover not seeming to be finding a satisfactory position to sit in while doing their work.

“I don’t know what to write!” She exclaimed, dropping her quill as she made movements in the air with her hands in exasperation.

Harry shrugged, peeking at the page number she was on in her textbook and turning to it in his own. The two were doing their Divination homework, Professor Trelawney wanting them to see how the next month for them will go.

“I’m about done with taking this seriously,” she started, shaking her head.

“You’ve been thinking I’ve been?” Harry added, but she continued, ignoring his comment.

“I’m making it up.” She decided, grabbing her quill and looking at her book, humming as she found a potential imaginary scenario that will most likely not happen anyways.

“I’ll….lose a bet….?” She suggested, still looking at her book.

Harry nods before realizing she’s not looking at him.

“Yeah, sounds good,” he replies. “Um…and I’ll…be unlucky for one week.”

She grinned at him. “Mine’s more believable.”

He scoffed. “My book doesn’t have any good ones!” He said as an excuse.

She laughed. “We have the same book!”

“Whatever-get me a different Divination book in the library, will ya?”

She rolled her eyes but got up nonetheless, searching the shelves for something better for the boy. Even though the book she was using was just fine.

She heard him close the book he was previously using and looked over her shoulder at him.

Harry just so happened to be already looking at her, and forgot everything he was thinking about moments prior. He forgot he was a year older since his birthday was in the summer, forgot that his mind should be focused on school work. His brain was occupied with thoughts on how beautiful she looked at the moment. Her eyes sparkled at the sight of him looking flustered just by looking at her, his bright green eyes something she easily got lost in.

He suddenly had the urge to get up and dance with her right in the middle of the library, despite his lack of dancing skills. He wanted to embrace her as a way to claim her his, despite the fact she already was.

Everyday she seemed to get more beautiful, more breathtaking, and more gorgeous.

Even after she chuckled at his act, turning away with thoughts all about him, a soft fuzzy feeling flooded Harry, making him feel all warm inside.

His fingertips became tingly, itching to touch her face her hair her everything. She just left him and he already longed for her to come back.

She did just that a couple minutes later, laying a book down for him as they exchanged smiles.

The sentence made her head come up from his chest, her fingers halting their movements on his hand.

She looked at him and laughed halfheartedly. “What?”

He was serious when she looked at him, and so her small smile dropped suddenly at his serious mood switch.

“Say you won’t let go.” Harry repeated.

“You know I won’t, Harry.” She whispered, reaching up to stroke his cheek, the smooth skin soft beneath her finger tips.

“Promise?” Harry asked hesitantly, doubt swarming in his stomach.

She sat up then, and for a split dying second he thought she was gonna leave, leaving him alone in the bed.

Instead she sat on his lap, his back leaning against the headboard. She sighed, legs on either side of his waist as her arms came up, sliding up his shoulders before her hands wrapped around his neck. “Harry,” she whispered, leaning closer.

“I want to stay with you until we’re grey and old. So old we don’t be able to get out of bed, so old neither of us can hear properly anymore. So old that we both have wrinkles covering our faces and even more when we smile. And I do that a lot around you.” She added, smiling as she said such things.

“Really?” Harry asked, voice barely audible. But she heard him well, nodding her head. “Yes,” she started, leaning closer and pecking his lips, sweet and soft, loving and kind. “And I definitely won’t be letting go any time soon.”

“I love you.” Harry whispered.

“And I love you.” She said back against his lips.

The soft melody of James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" filled the room as Seonghwa sat on the couch, lost in thought. His fingers traced the edge of his phone, a small smile gracing his lips as he watched you from across the room. It was a quiet evening, and he found solace in the peacefulness that enveloped his heart. But even in this tranquillity, his thoughts were filled with one person - you. You were sitting by the window, engrossed in a book, the gentle rays of the setting sun casting a warm glow on your face.

It was moments like these that made Seonghwa's heart swell with love for you. He had fallen for you from the moment he met you. You were his everything. Your smile, your laughter, the way your eyes sparkled when you talked about your dreams - they all made his heart skip a beat. Every day he spent with you, he fell deeper in love.

Seonghwa couldn't help but recall the first time he had seen you. It was at a crowded cafe, and you had accidentally spilled your coffee on him. He remembered your flushed cheeks and sincere apology, and in that moment, he was captivated by your beauty and warmth.

TAG GAME LETS GO!!!! i think this is the first time i’m doing a tag game here so. here! @konnorhasapen tagged me to assign some songs to redacted ships and i think i have the right ones :] here ar my favs below the cut, in no specific order 👍🏽

Tank/Quinn Butch 4 Butch by Rio Romeo (x) yeah this ship makes me go insane as is because i love angst and pain and torturing myself, and this song just kind of gets it man. kind of puts a perspective on all the abuse and pain and makes the obvious delusion, hurt and doubt sound normalized and romanticized, and so it’s easier to get a peak into the mechanics and warped mindsets of abusive relationships through it. yeah. just listen to it. going loco everytime i put this song on 🤪

Tank/Sam Sunlight by Hozier (x) sam said his darlin’ feels like sunlight on an easy day, but i think this song is mostly from tank’s pov. the overwhelming feel of the song that fills up your chest would be how tank saw it too, a stark contrast from what they know, as opposed to sam who paired sunlight with ‘easy’. “who would trade that hum of night for sunlight, sunlight, sunlight?” to “a soul that’s born in cold and rain knows sunlight, sunlight, sunlight” and the fact that it is so new to them that it feels bigger and grander and holier than they’d ever known. AHHH DO U SEE WHAT I MEAN. YEAH.

David/Angel BREAKFAST by half · alive (x) it just feels like an easy song, but it’s obvious from the lyrics that it’s still really daunting. david’s character arc has always been about learning to accept and ask for help. his main problem was not being a dick about it in the process, which stems from him finding vulnerability daunting, and angel kind of provides that kind of support with the dickyness just, on default. the “strength in the open, the broken and exposed, should I flee to the mountains?” bit. it hasn’t been easy for him to get used to that but he pulled through!!! and. yeah. also, breakfast is just something david’s plenty good at, and food is sorta his way of showing he cares........................... i’m kidding his song is rude boy by rihanna.

Milo/SH Apple Pie by Lizzie McAlpine (x) the whole thing with milo and his mom and how they kept moving around, and then him and sweetheart moving into Their Own Place ... yeah.. the song itself is about the concept of home and your other person, and there’s a verse about cardboard boxes and moving and just. yeah :’) also, it’s established that milo is ALSO good with food. 

Asher/Babe Video Games by The Young Professionals (x) not the lana del rey (original) version because something about a male voice claiming to be in a sundress is just. very ash-core. i think the song itself is pretty self explanatory if you’ve seen his videos. video games are his number one comfort thing, and the first time he confessed his love was WHILE they were playing a halo game, and said playing was a big part of why he felt compelled to do it. like i said, self explanatory. 

Gavin/FL Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur (x) this ship was a tricky one to pin. ik, overused song, i KNOW. was initially gonna go for an arctic monkeys song but gav is so much deeper as a character than that kind of erotic tension. this decision is also influenced by imp!gavin. gavin even in the imperium universe is set on a future with the freelancer and it’s just AHHH it’s the “i’ll love you in every universe” thing + the purest love you can imagine, the kind that feels as easy as breathing despite both of their baggage, the kind that only grows with age. i have Thoughts about this ship man idk. can u tell gavin’s a fav :’)

Huxley/Damien Impossible by Nothing But Thieves (x)  i can just picture dames listening to this song on repeat for hours thinking of hux. idk if the album cover’s colours have tricked me into thinking the song is damien-coded, but it makes a lot of sense for these two, y’know? huxley handles hardships like it’s a breeze, even if it isn’t, and dames isn’t used to that level of optimism. he teaches damien to be vulnerable, and moreover that he can handle him being vulnerable, because that’s something i’m sure dames has an issue with. i just love them sm, especially hux. i would  really like a huxley hug 😔

Aaron/Smartass  Nerve by Destroy Boys (x) pretty obvious why. “you stride right in and you get on my nerves, but I won’t say I’m disturbed because I want you to” y’know? also the high-hats and cymbals with the guitar, that kinda high energy rock music just reminds me of their banter. put that over passive adoring lyrics and you’ve got these two idiots ^-^

one of your favorite parts about living in california was your closeness to the beach. you often found yourself there on both the good days, and the bad. you would go there to get away from the craziness of the city when you needed a quiet place to think.

growing up on the east coast, it was a little more difficult to visit your favorite place all the time considering you would quite literally freeze during the cold months. but in sunny california, you had access to your safe haven all year round, and you couldn't be happier.

when you first moved to los angeles, you didn't know where the best place to go was. there were so many beaches down the coast, you weren’t sure which were more geared for tourists, locals, or which would be crowded by loud college students getting in the way of your peaceful moment.

you decided to give them each a shot, taking visits to santa barbra all the way down laguna beach.

when you started dating vinnie, he even took you to his go-to spot in malibu, which was a cliff that overlooked the water which not too many people knew about.

vinnie didn't show it to just anyone, he liked to keep it his little secret for when he needed it most.

but when he met you, he instantly wanted to share it with you. he knew you were something special and he wanted to take you to his equally special spot.

it's been a year since he first took you there, and you’ve continued to go every chance you both could get.

you even found yourself visiting the hidden spot on your own sometimes when you were in desperate need of some peace and quiet from your hectic life.

it was no longer just vinnie's spot, but yours too.

tonight you found yourselves back there after a long business dinner with vinnie’s team. 

vinnie pulled up to the usual parking spot and you admired the amazing sunset in front of you.

you had gotten there perfectly at golden hour, the sky looking radiant with different tones of orange and pink bouncing off each other. it was truly a beautiful sight to behold.

you both stepped out of the car and moved to sit on the edge of the cliff with your hands intertwined and your head resting comfortably on vinnie’s shoulder. 

you stayed like that for quite some time until vinnie abruptly got up and walked back to the car. you heard him turn up the music that wasplaying through the speakers before rummaging through his trunk.

he returned with a hoodie now in his hands. “you seemed cold,” he stated, reaching out to give you the old sweatshirt.

you smiled, pulling it over the short dress you had on that did little to keep you warm. he was right, you were freezing. 

when you were finished putting on the sweatshirt, he motioned for you to stand with him. he interlaced your hands, helping you up before bringing you into his chest. 

you could hear “say you won’t let go”, one of your favorite songs, begin to play from inside the car as vinnie spun you around and started dancing. 

vinnie pressed his finger against your chin to tilt your head up to face him. “this song’s for you, baby.” his hands moved over your face as he continued to stroke your cheek while softly singing the lyrics to you. 

you hummed along with him, not feeling confident that your voice wouldn’t ruin the sweet moment. 

he sang the rest of the song to you while you were both completely lost in each other’s eyes.

when the song ended, he brought you closer, your soft lips touching as you deepened the kiss. you moved your hands to play with his curls, while his moved to hold you by the waist.

you moved in sync for a few minutes before he pulled away and whispered into your ear. “i love you, sweet girl.”

Chris freaked out for a moment, instantly realising that he's alone with Emily. He has never been alone with his little girl. At least not without you being somewhere in the house too. But now? You're nowhere near and Chris has no way of contacting you if anything happens. He's scared shitless.

Just on cue, the little girl starts blinking her eyes open and a soft cry leaves her lips. He takes a deep breath, calming himself down before he picks Emily up and cradles her in his arms.

"Good mornin', pretty girl." Chris says softly, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss on her head with a smile on his lips. "Daddy's here, baby. I got ya, okay?"

His heart warms when a tiny smile peeks out on Emily's lips, her eyes glinting and her small hand is wrapped around Chris' index finger. He leans down, and kisses her hand, watching as his little girl grins wider at the action.

"Lets go heat up your food and wait for mommy to come back with your brother, alright?"

He knows she doesn't understand what he's saying but you've always said that Em loves his voice and loves hearing him talk. And if that will stop Em from crying, Chris is willing to do anything.

He's holding his girl up, palm rubbing her back so he can get her to burp. Chris doesn't really know why but you've always done it so he figures that it should be important.

"C'mon, baby. I dunno why I'm supposed to make you burp but mommy has always done it, hasn't she?" He laughs breathily when Emily giggles softly at his words. "You're the cutest, sweetheart. Just like your mommy, huh?"

"You think mommy's tryin' to test me? She's taking a long time walking Dodger, isn't she?" He chuckles softly when Emily finally lets out a quiet burp. He holds her against his torso and Emily's cheek is pressed against his chest. "I'll be honest, Em. Daddy's pretty scared you're gonna cry, so promise me you won't, okay?" He gently caresses her back, hoping to calm her down.

He regrets his words immediately when Em's face cramps up, scrunching into a frown before a loud cry leaves her lips. Chris' eyes widens, instantly pulling Em up and closer to him.

"Oh no, baby. It's okay, sweetheart. I'm sorry, daddy shouldn't have said that, huh?" He holds her, pressing soft kisses on her forehead. "Should I try and sing for you, baby? Is that gonna make you feel better?" His voice was soft when he turns Emily around and cradles her in his arms. Chris laughs lightly when his little girl calms down, staring up at him and sort of waiting for him to sing. He clears his throat with a smile.

He has no idea what he's doing but Emily stopped crying so Chris figures that he's definitely doing something right.

Chris didn't even register the front door opening. He's too enthralled with how peaceful his daughter looks with her eyes fluttering close. But he keeps on singing the lyrics of your favourite song that you're always playing on repeat. He doesn't know who sang it but he has always felt that he could relate to the lyrics.

He's used to being in the public's eye. And he had a pretty wild life before you and Emily came into his life. The first time he saw a picture of the ultrasound and it truly dawned on him that he's having a daughter with the love of his life, Chris cried. It was easily one of the happiest days of his life.

He knows at that exact moment- there's nothing he wouldn't do for you, Emily and Dodger. His little family.

He sees some sort of movement from the corner of his eyes so Chris instantly turns, seeing you stand there and guiltily holding your phone up, seemingly recording his whole lullaby session. Dodger was obediently sitting by your side, so Chris has a feeling that you told Dodger to be quiet before you two came in.

"How long have you been standing there?" Chris asks quietly, a smile growing on his lips before he stands up from the sofa, careful not to move his hands too much so Emily stays asleep.

"You're the best dad, bubba."

He leans down when he's close enough, pressing a kiss against your lips and he rests his free arm around your shoulders. "You left your phone on purpose?"

You giggle softly at his question before you lean down and softly kiss Emily's cheek. "Thought you might need some daddy-daughter time. So I brought this guy out." Your hand reaches down and rubs Dodger's fur, laughing when he nuzzles into your leg.

"I'll go put this little one in her cot then we can have breakfast, okay?"

You hum as Chris leans down and presses his lips against your forehead before he turns around with Emily in his arms and going up to Em's nursery.

Chris sets Em down in her cot, arranging the pillows and the small bears so she's comfy. "Y'know, little one." Chris starts, hand reaching down and brushing Emily's hair off her face. "I've got a little ring hiding in the drawer." He whispers, leaning close to his daughter and kisses Emily's hair. "Once you wake up, daddy's gonna take the ring and ask momma to marry me, okay?"

G43. Don’t let go.

You were sitting next to Hawkins on your living room couch, snuggling further into his chest while you peacefully drank your glass of whine. Hawkins wrapped his arm around your shoulders, holding you as close as he could, as some music played quietly in the background.

Watching the flames dancing in the fireplace, you remained quiet, listening to the lyrics of the songs and enjoying this rare moment between you and your boyfriend.

A few months ago, Hawkins took his father’s place as a Paramedic Field Chief at CFD. His schedule changed, he was working twice as hard and bringing home a lot of paperwork. As time went by, you felt like you never got a moment for just the two of you, where you could just sit down and relax, enjoying each other’s company without talking about work.

Deep down, Hawkins was scared. He was starting to think that becoming a Chief was the wrong move. His heart squeezed in his chest every time he came home from work. You would run to the door and welcome him with a big smile on your face, but it would fade away once you saw the pile of paperwork he was carrying under his arm. He could be sitting right next to you, but his mind was always somewhere else, as if he wasn’t even there. Hawkins was scared of losing the only good thing he still had in his life.

The music changed, and as if it was one of those weird signs of the universe, he noticed the new song was ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’, by James Arthur. The lyrics were so relatable, he almost laughed.

“Don’t let go.” His voice was soft, almost like he was pleading.

“What?” You looked up, meeting his eyes.

“Promise me you won’t let go of this.” He gestured between you and him. “Promise me you won’t let go of us.”

“I promise.” You smiled, your hand reaching his face, caressing his cheek. “I love you, Evan. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“Till we’re gray and old?” He smirked, raising his brow.

“Till we’re gray and old.” You grinned, pecking his lips.

He wasn’t going to lose you, after all. But either way, he promised himself he would do something about his work. Maybe he could hire someone to help with the paperwork, maybe he could go back to his old position at CFD. He was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he would never lose you.

“Don’t let them stay up too late,” Ginny reminds him as she opens the front door.

“And send us a Patronus if anything goes wrong. We’ll be here in an instant,” Hermione adds fretfully.

“Oi, ‘Mione, really? They’re not babies anymore!”

“Let’s go, or we’re going to miss our Portkey.”

Teddy laughs at the interaction. Of all the adults, it’s Harry who’s pressing them about tardiness. The foursome are headed on a weekend getaway, staying at the Delacours’ beachside cottage for three nights. James was shipped off to George and Angelina’s, while Rose opted to go to Percy and Audrey’s, so Teddy’s charges only include Albus, Hugo, and Lily.

“Everything’s going to be fine. I’ve got this! And if I don’t, I can think of at least five other Weasleys to call. Maybe even a Malfoy if I’m desperate.”

“That’s not funny, Lupin,” Ron warns as Ginny swats him upside the head.

“But if Scorpius does ask for Albus to go over for an afternoon, it’s fine!”

“Noted. Go enjoy your weekend!” 

Teddy half shoves them out the door this time as he shuts and locks it behind them. The kids are out back playing in the garden, so Teddy goes out to join them. He’s chuffed that Harry and Ginny trust him enough to watch Al and Lily for the weekend. Plus, Ron and Hermione added Hugo to the mix. Normally, they’d be shipped off to the Burrow to stay with Molly and Arthur, but since it’s only a long weekend, and the kids are ten and twelve now, Teddy Lupin, a recent Hogwarts graduate, has been bestowed the responsibility. 

He’s always been the mature older ‘sibling’—well, he counts himself as a sibling or cousin to all the Weasleys, but he’s not blood-related. Harry and Ginny half raised him, though, so he’s just as much a part of the family as any of the kids. Heck, maybe someday he’d officially be part of the family. 

No, it’s too early to be having those thoughts.

But there’s one person who makes him happier than anything to know he’s not related to the Weasleys by blood. Victoire, his best friend and girlfriend. As Teddy sits back and gets comfortable on a patio chair, he lets his mind wander to spring afternoons spent by the lake as he observes the kids playing on the muggle swingset Harry insisted on putting together years ago.

“Who knew a giant Muggle toy would get so much use?”

Teddy jumps at the sound of a voice he’s not expecting.

“Vic! What are you doing here? I mean, not that I’m complaining, but…”

She laughs as Teddy backtracks. The sound is music to his ears, soft and lyrical, and something he’ll never tire of. Making her laugh is something he’s striven to do ever since they were young. When she fell off her toy broom, he made his hair change colors at a rapid pace in an attempt to make her giggle, and then there was the time she broke up with her first boyfriend during her fourth year, when he’d used the Jelly Legs Jinx on the bloke’s legs while he walked over a patch of ice. Victoire’s laugh has always been the fuel that set his heart on fire.

“Well, you said you had to babysit this weekend, and I thought I might come over and help entertain my cousins,” she explains as she pulls up a chair next to him.

“Yeah, but the adults have only just left! You don’t think I can keep the kids alive on my own for more than an hour?”

“Of course, I do!” She slides her hand in his while waiting for a beat, “especially since James isn’t here.”

“Oh, I see how it is! James isn’t that bad.”

“No, he’s not. He just likes mischief. It’s a common Weasley trait.”

“And a Potter one, too, if I’m not mistaken. Harry and Ginny never stood a chance, especially after naming him after Harry’s dad and godfather.”

“True. When I have kids, they won’t be named after anyone. They deserve to have their own unique names.”

Teddy offers a sad smile at Victoire’s words. He’s named after his dad and granddad and doesn’t mind all that much, but he sees where Victoire is coming from, what with being named after a bloody war for Merlin’s sake.

“Maybe you shouldn’t have insisted on entering this world on the second of May, then. I mean, come on, Vic, of all the days!”

“Oh, sod off, Lupin,” she feigns seriousness while her eyes shine with mirth.

“I do agree with you, though. There’s enough people in this family who’re named after somebody else. I don’t mind it, but I do like the concept of original names. Though, I do think we’re a ways off from baby name talk, don’t you?”

He can’t help but lighten the mood. Teddy’s sure she means nothing by the comment and is just thinking out loud, but something still possesses him to weave it into their future. Perhaps it’s to gauge her thoughts in a casual manner?

“Probably, but it’s fun to talk about, isn’t it? I mean, it’s not like we’re actually picking names or anything.”

“Or determining how many kids we’re going to have…”

“Which would absolutely be—”

“Two!” they both say at the same time.

It’s really more of an inside joke, with Teddy witnessing firsthand the chaos that is the Potter household with three kids, and Victoire being the oldest of three. And yet, there’s some truth laced into their lighthearted conversation.

“See?” Victoire says as she leans in close, “This is why we’re good together.”

She plants a kiss on his cheek at the exact wrong moment because that’s when Hugo shouts,

“Victoire! Look, guys! Vic’s here!”

“Oops,” she whispers bashfully in his ears.

So far, they’ve managed to keep their relationship a secret from the family, but it looks like that’s about to end sooner rather than later. Of course, Harry and Ginny know, and Vic told Bill and Fleur when she came home at the end of term, but the cousins were still blissfully unaware… until now.

The three kids run over to Vic and Teddy, and Lily eyes them with curiosity. “Teddy, why did Vic just kiss you on the cheek?”

There are a multitude of different answers Teddy could choose from. ‘No reason’, ‘don’t worry about it’, ‘it’s nothing’, but instead he opts for, “Why do you think, Lils?”

Her eyes grow wider than her small face allows, and a wide O forms on her lips. “Are you two… together?” she whispers.

Teddy and Vic share a look. They both know the secret’s out now.

“Yeah, Lils, we are,” Teddy admits as he holds up the hand that’s still intertwined with Vic’s.

If there weren’t wards in place, Teddy’s sure that Lily’s shriek of delight could have been heard for miles. Albus and Hugo, on the other hand, seemed disinterested in the whole ordeal.

“Can we play hide and seek or something?” Albus asked once Lily was done reacting to the news.

Point in case.

“Wait, who else knows?” Hugo interrupts Albus’s question and bringing the focus back on Teddy and Vic.

“Of all the cousins? Only you three,” Vic answers.

“Only us?” Lily gasps.

“Not even James?” Albus eyes Teddy curiously.

“Not even James,” Teddy confirms. “Tell you what, we can go play hide and seek now, but what about an even better game?”

All three look on expectantly, waiting for Teddy’s proposition.

“What if we play, ‘let’s see how long it takes James to figure out Vic and I are dating’? We can all place bets, and I’ll take whoever guesses the closest date out for ice cream.”

Vic flashes him a knowing smile as the kids contemplate his offer.

“I’m in,” Lily says without thinking it through.

“Me too,” Hugo agrees.

“But that means we’ll have to keep it a secret,” Albus realizes.

He’s much more intuitive at eleven than Teddy ever dreamed of being.

“Yeah. Everyone else has to find out on their own, which means you can’t tell anyone.”

Lily and Hugo both nod in agreement, and after a bit more pondering, Albus agrees.

“Okay, but can we pick dates later? I want to play!”

Ted and Vic both laugh as Teddy offers to count to twenty. He closes his eyes and makes a big show of counting while Vic remains at his side.

“Nice one.”

“Thanks,” he responds in between shouting numbers. “I figure James is thick enough that we’ll get at least a couple more weeks out of him. He is Harry’s son, after all...”

Not only did they get a couple of weeks out of the deal, but the rest of the summer. It wasn’t until September first when James caught them snogging behind a pillar on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and ran to announce it to the world that the couple knew the jig was up. 

“Looks like I owe Al a trip to Fortescue’s next time I see him.”

Summary: The couples compete in the sand castle  competition.  Taylor and Maxwell’s problems are revealed to the family.  Ren and Jason decide to take care of all the kids for the evening so the couples can have a kids free night.

A/N:  I just recently finished the series The Squid Game on netflix, and you will see a hilarious parody of it here, as Jason and Ren will be playing Red Light, Green Light with the children.   I hope you guys enjoy this.

Jili and Liam  both refused to answer to their names for the duration of the competition; they were instead known as being singular parts to comprise the collective known as ‘The Architects’  and they worked together like a well oiled machine.  If team sand castle making was an Olympic sport, these two would be bringing the gold home for ‘Merica.  

“I need more water!”  

“I got you!”

Liam grabbed her bucket running to the ocean bringing Jilian back more water to help her complete her portion of the sand castle mountain they were skillfully creating.  The two were almost anticipating what the other needed bringing more tools to aid and assist each other.  They quickly made a sand structure that rivaled all the other teams that day on the beach.  

Even after all those years Liam and Jilian really did work well as a team.

When they were satisfied with their sand castle mountain, Liam and Jili once again did their secret hand shake and ended with them back to back sliding their sunglasses on at the same time.

“The Architects are Done!”  

“I really wish we would have thought of this Ren,  you really can’t make this up! Team names, and secret handshakes?”  Jason cajoled, nudging Ren.

“They’re having fun, they just don’t know how crazy they look.”  

Team Rico composed of Riley and Nico had the heart of  champion sand castle builder extraordinaires but unfortunately lacked the skill and precision to properly build a sand castle.

“Come on Riley! Channel your inner kid.  Lilo could have this done in no time. What did we do at the beach every year?”   Jaiden screamed.

“Um body surfed, jumped waves, flirted with the cute pogues, none of that is helping me out right now.”  

Nico laughed, shaking his head at Riley.

“We’ll get something put together, might not win us anything, but we’ll finish this strong…”

Nico commented as the side wall of their castle collapsed.

“Okay let me rephrase that, it will be a strong-ish finish. Meaning not last.”

“I’m okay with not last.”    

“Let’s do this then.  Team Not Last.”

Taylor and Maxwell couldn’t even get a basic concept even started for their sand castle.  They refused to work together, more like Taylor refused, and it looked like they were building two separate structures.  

“Taylor, you're taking my sand.”

“You’re taking my soul but do you see me bitching? Nope.”  

“Can we not do this right now?  The kids are watching us Taylor.”  

Taylor took a deep cleansing breath.

“Fine. Maxwell, have you glanced around us?  We’re surrounded by sand. You’ll. Be. Just. Fine.”  Taylor hissed.  

They both continued working in painful silence.  Everyone could now tell, there was something seriously wrong with the pair that used to be the most in love and adorable couple.

When it came time to be judged, the winner was The Architects that reclaimed their victory.  

Liam and Jili stood on the podium, holding up their medals.

“Is someone going to play the national anthem?”

“This isn’t the Olympics Liam!”  Riley screamed from the sand.

“Are you sure, because we got the Gold Baby!!!!” Jili screamed high fiving Liam.

“We can’t take them anywhere can we Nico?”  

“Nope, doesn’t look like it, but hey we love them right?  It’s part of their charm.”

“It really is Nico.”  

Jason and Ren seeing the display between Taylor and Maxwell decided that tonight would be the night they would offer the adults only night to the parents.  

The couples met for a few minutes before they started getting dressed.  

“So I looked  at what this place has going on in the realm of nightlife. There's a little place called the Sand Bar. They have booze and karaoke, it’s about the best we’re going to do out here.  It’s just a short walk into town.”

“Um, I’m not walking to the bar in my hooker shoes, looking like a lady of the evening.”

“What Riley said.”  Bebe and Jili nodded in agreement.

“I’m wearing flip flops tonight. Who still has hooker shoes?”

All the other women raised their hands.

Taylor scoffed. "I don't believe you."

“And that’s why you and your man are having problems right now.  You need to whore it up for him every once in a while.  I’m sorry did I say that out loud?”  Riley asked.  

Jaiden winced.  “Brutally honest sis.”

“But…..technically not untrue.”  Nico commented.  “And before you ladies come at me with your guns blazing, that's a two way street.  I know what my lady likes on me, or doesn’t like on me.”  

Nico winked at Jili and she giggled.

The look on Taylor’s face was priceless.  

Leo cleared his throat  changing the subject.

“Anyway, It’s like an island block from here.”  

“Makes sense to me.”

Bebe rolled her eyes.  Tera’s opinion didn’t matter. Liam picked up where Bebe’s eyeroll left off.  

“What the hell does that even mean? I’ve heard of city blocks, but island blocks?”  Liam asked.  “We’re going to order a RideShare XL or a party bus or some shit. Our luscious ladies aren’t walking anywhere but into the bar, and to the tables.”  

“Okay we’ll be ready to leave at 7 we’ll do dinner first at the Oceanic across the way then The Sand Bar for booze and entertainment.”

Maxwell and Taylor

Taylor rummaged through her suitcase, after not finding what she knew she didn’t pack in the first place, she sat on the bed in a huff.

“Don’t worry about what they said Taylor.”  Maxwell gently consoled her.  

“I didn’t pack anything like any of them are planning to wear out tonight. I didn't even think about it."  

“I know, it’s not a big deal.”  

“Yes it is!!!!  Do you think I let myself go, Maxwell?”  

“NO! You’re beautiful no matter what you’re wearing. When I met you, you were wearing denim shorts, a white  tank top, and those red  converse .  I still thought you were the most beautiful girl in the world.”

“Max….. you remember what I was wearing when we met?”  

Maxwell’s eyes filled with tears.  “Of course I do, because I love us.  We can fix us Tay.. Because I know, I  believe you still love us too. We're great together.”  

They took steps towards each other.  

“Taylor please….”  

"Max…. I….."

The loud obnoxious knocking on the door abruptly ruined the moment they were having.

“Open the door, it’s your hooker fairy godmother.”

Taylor opened the door to see Riley holding a sexy black dress and sparkly heels.

“You’re coming with me.  And… You’re welcome.”   Riley peeped her head in the door at Maxwell.

Before Taylor could protest, Riley grabbed Taylor’s arm pulling her out of the room.

“Where are we going?”

“To get ready in Sexy Mom Town, these boys aren't gonna know what hit them!”

Okay sexy mom town wasn’t exactly what Taylor was thinking about, and it was definitely not like her early 20’s getting ready for a night on the town. There was a lot of concealer,contouring and all kinds of Spanx.  But it made her feel a part of something, and she hadn’t felt like anyone but Marcus and Luna’s mom in so long.  

Everyone was wearing a short dress but Bebe.  

“Girl, what's with the long dress?”  

“I know what my man likes, and he will love this dress.  It’s tight in the booty and you see all these buttons?  You can vary the levels of slut-tocity  with this dress.”  Bebe undid a few of the buttons, causing her side slit to go higher up her leg.  

“Slut-tocity?  Is that a real thing?”  

“It’s a very real thing.”  

Jason, Ren and all the kids

“So I figure we’ll grill hamburgers and hot dogs for them, and do a movie. What do you think?”  

“That sounds great.”  

“Or better yet, Let’s play a game with them out in the yard first.  I have an idea.”  

Jason came back with a larger than life water gun.

“All you kids line up, we’re going to play a game.”

The kids lined up  across the lawn listening to their grandfather.

“We’re going to play Red Light, Green Light.  When Granna says green light you run, but when Granna says red light you stop.  I’ll be watching you.  If I shoot you with the water gun that means you didn’t freeze, and you’re out. And you have to die too!”

“Are we about to play the Squid Game with our grandchildren Jason? And you just told them they had to die if they got shot too?”

“Yep. Grandparents of the year we are. If only they had green track suits I think we'd go viral with a video of what we're about to do.”

“Alrighty.  Let’s do this. Does everyone understand the rules?”

“Yes!” the children screamed.

“Good." Jason pumped the water gun. "Let it begin!!!!"

"Green Light!" Ren paused for a few seconds before screaming  "RED LIGHT!"

Jason cocked his water gun aiming at Jaiden Jr and shot.

JJ was the first casualty of the Brooks Family Squid games.

After three rounds the yard was starting  to look  like a crime scene, with children laying in the yard  when Kai grabbed Elodie as she slipped, both freezing at Ren's scream of "RED LIGHT!"

"We have our ALI!" Jason screamed.

They continued to play and the final winners of the game were Kai and Elodie.

"That was fun!" Jason laughed, resting the water gun at his side.

"Kids get up! Let's go back in the house."

The kids that had lost the first round of the Brooks Family Squid Games sprang back to life.

“JJ do you want a hamburger or a hot dog?”

“Both!”

“Where does this kid put all that food?”

Ren smiled. "He's the most like Jaiden by far. Are you really surprised  Jason?"

"When the Mommies come downstairs, cheer really loud for them kids."

"You two be good for Granna and Pop Pop. I mean it." Liam commented with a hint of sterness to his voice.

"Yes Daddy." Both girls chimed in unison.

The husbands waited patiently for their wives, and finally they heard the clicking of heels.

"Trot out the ladies!" Leo screamed.  The kids cheered as they walked into the room, both the guys and the ladies had paid extra close attention to Taylor and Maxwell.

Maxwell's eyes went wide as his eyes traveled down Taylor's body.

"You look really beautiful."

A little flush of pink crossed Taylor’s cheeks.  

“Thank you.  You look good. You look like a cop but you look good."

"That would be my fault."

"Does the outfit come with handcuffs?"

Max raised an eyebrow.

"Yes." Nico replied.

"But for recreational use?"

"Also yes." Jilian winked at Taylor.

Is Taylor flirting with me? Maxwell thought.

“Our ride is here!”  

A stretch humvee was parked in the yard for them.  

“Hell yes, this is how I was supposed to live, like a Queen.”  Riley said, sipping champagne.

“You’re my Queen.”  Liam kissed Riley’s cheek.  

Karaoke Time

"So who's going first?"

"Not until I get a few rounds in."

"I don't need alcohol to do this, I'm going first."

After a few minutes Maxwell was called to the stage.

"This one is for my wife, who truly is my better half. I'd be lost without her."

Chins dropped as Maxwell sang to Taylor.  The group smiled as Taylor inched closer to the stage.

HAPPY ACOSF RELEASE DAY!

(ACOSF SPOILERS AHEAD) ARE YOU EXCITED?

I personally am. It’s time for Nesta’s story (and not just hers) to be told. So, this leads to another thing I think (and hope) you’ve been waiting for.

LET’S EXPLAIN THE PLAYLIST! (Read every song’s meaning while or after reading the book) And thank you for all your love and support.

“Alone” by Melancholia: It describes the Cauldron scene at the beginning of the book. In this song you can feel the rage and how hard she’s struggling. This song is not about weakness. It’s about her strength.

“Impossible” by James Arthur: Chapter 1. Even if it’s not so clear in this chapter, I think this song represents how Cassian feels when Nesta’s around. He feels worthless and not so different from the other men she beds (as he thought in ACOFAS). He lost his hope of an happy future with the woman he loves and he feels like he’s breaking that last promise she made her. Everything just seems so impossible.

“Sister” by The Black Keys: Chapter 2. This just makes me think of Feyre and Nesta’s fight. It’s from Feyre’s pov.

“New House” by Toro y Moi: “I want a brand new house Something I can not buy, something I can afford I just want a long shower I been feeling so crowded” Chapter 3. It’s about Nesta settling down in the House of Wind. It’s not the place she feels she can call “home”. First of all, it’s not really hers. The last two sentences of this verse are about her breathing and trying to calm herself at the end of the chapter. She’s just tired.

“My Mother & I” by Lucy Dacus: Chapter 4. The whole song is about Nesta and the relationship with her mother when she was a child. I think there’s nothing else to say. Also, in the 1st Chapter it says that she’s born in spring, so the song talks about a girl who was born in May. It all fits.

“Teacher’s Pet” by Melanie Martinez”: “Teacher’s pet If I’m so special, why am I secret? Yeah, why the fuck is that? Do you regret The things we shared that I’ll never forget? Well, do you? Tell me that I know I’m young, but my mind is well beyond my years I knew this wouldn’t last, but fuck you, don’t you leave me here” Chapter 5 and 6. Nesta and Cassian’s first day of training together. She basically doesn’t want to act like she’s his pet and she’s got to do whatever he want just to respect her sister’s will.

“Dangerous Man” by Valley Of Wolves: “They say I’m a wanted man Holding line and break the fire I’m setting all the captives free But I’m hanging by a wire” Chapter 7. It’s about Eris and his double-cross. That’s how probably Cassian pictures Eris in his mind tbh.

“Control” by Halsey: Chapter 8. Nesta facing the stairs. It can be linked to other chapters too because if you take this song as a whole and not just a few verses, it really contains A LOT of things. For example, the line “The House was awake”. Also Chapter 9, when people start calling their children. You can find this moment in the song when it says “All the kids cried out ‘please stop, you’re scaring me”.

“Bookstore Girl” by Charlie Burg: Chapter 9. The bookstore girl is Gwyn and Nesta tries to know more about her.

“Wrong Direction” by Hailee Steinfeld: “I don’t hate you” Chapter 12. This song is about the chapter’s ending.

“You’ve Got a Friend In Me” by Cavetown: Chapter 13. Nesta and Gwyn’s interaction. Also, Nesta helping her.

“like that” by Bea Miller: Chapter 16. Nesta and Cassian’s tension is hilarious, but this song makes me thing about this scene so much.

“Queen” by Shawn Mendes: Chapter 17. Elain fighting with Nesta. This lyrics is so powerful. The first part is Elain talking to Nesta. The second part is Nesta talking to Elain.

“You’ll Follow Me Down” by Skunk Anansie: Chapter 17. Same scene. This is totally Nesta. She’s so scared of herself and of the world that surrounds her. She’s afraid to lose her sister in this world she still knows nothing about if not violence. She wants Elain by her side, even if it means dragging her down with her.

“Teeth” by 5 Seconds of Summer: Chapters 18/19. I like to call it “THE chapter”. Do you need me to explain why I chose this song? Um, I don’t think so. You know it.

“Only You” by Ellie Goulding: “Baby I’m on my knees” Chapter 22. He’s... returning the favor.

“Revolution” by Diplo, Faustix, Imanos, Kai: Chapter 24. Our girl Nesta knows what she’s doing. What she’s starting.

“Best Friend for Hire” by Anthony Amorim: Chapter 25. The whole song is about Nesta and Emerie’s interaction. Everytime I listen to it I can’t help but cry.

“Moment’s Silence (Common Tongue)” by Hozier: Chapter 26.  Nesta’s worried about Cassian and gives him relief.

“Rise Up” by Andra Day: Chapters 27/28. These three girls are going to rise up, bitches.

“Nina Cried Power” by Hozier, Mavie Staples: Chapter 29. This song is really powerful, just like Nesta. She always is, but in this chapter we learn HOW MUCH.

“Fix Me Now” by Garbage: “Bring me back to life (fix me now) Kiss me blind” Chapter 31. THAT scene. HE HEATED UP THE WHOLE ROOM Y’ALL. Cassian literally kissed her back to life.

“Ready or Not” by Fugees: Chapters 34/35/36. I can’t choose only one quote from this song. But can you hear its vibes? Nesta’s leading a dead army. This is THE power. 

“PILLOWTALK” by ZAYN: Chapter 37. *wink* This song says everything.

“Go Fuck Yourself” by Two Feet: Always chapter 37. I couldn’t choose just one song, you know. Also, lowkey Chapter 38.

“Never Again” by Breaking Benjamin: “Never again, never again Time will ot take the life from me” Chapter 38′s ending. All I can say is: NEVER AGAIN.

“Boy In The Bubble” by Alec Benjamin: Not linked to just one chapter. It makes me thing of Azriel a lot.

“Past Lives” by BØRNS: “I've got the strangest feeling This isn't our first time around Past lives couldn't ever come between us Some time the dreamers finally wake up Don't wake me I'm not dreaming“ Chapter 39. Gwyn and Azriel. Well, these lines are about them, but I think the rest of the song represents Elain and Azriel, too. I don’t know if you feel the same.

“Watch Me While I Bloom” by Hayley Williams: Chapter 41. Nesta teaching Cassian how to treat a woman. She’s got big dick energy ayeee

“R U Mine?” by Arctic Monkeys: Still chapter 41. Cassian taking control of the situation. This song just screams “dominant” lmao.

“Walls Could Talk” by Halsey: So Halsey once said “The House was awake” (Control). What if those Walls Could Talk? Like, poor thing. It could have a mental breakdown. This song is dedicated to the House of Wind ‘cause it needs respect. It’s alive. Just imagine how’d you feel watching non-stop those two fucking and fighting. Also Azriel, you’re loved.

“Despicable” by grandson: “If I were you I wouldn’t love me neither” Chapter 43. Tamlin deserves a song, too.

“Part Of Me” by Katy Perry: Chapters 45/46. It’s all SO chaotic. This song means a lot of things. They all lied to her, but this song is particularly about Nesta and Amren’s fight. In my opinion, she did the right think telling Feyre the truth ‘cause she deserved to know, but it just wasn’t the right time and space.

“Don’t Give Up On Me” by Andy Grammer: Chapter 47. Cassian’s going to take care of Nesta. She made a mistake but she knows here better than anyone. He won’t give up on her.

“There You Are” by ZAYN: Chapter 50. Cassian comforts Nesta when she finally explodes. He’s there for her with open arms.

“You Found Me” by The Fray: Still Chapter 50. This chapter was so hard to read and this is another song that can describe it best.

“Locked Out Of Heaven” by Bruno Mars: Chapter 51. Illyrian bat boys just love flat objects. I see.

“Thin White Lies” by 5 Seconds of Summer: Chapter 51. Yeah, still thinking about that desk.

“Chosen Family” by Rina Sawayama: Still Chapter 51. This song is wholly dedicated to Nesta’s new found family. Not only Gwyn and Emerie, but also Cassian.

“Library Magic” by The Head And The Heart: Chapter 52. Listen to this song and read the scene at the beginning of the chapter.

“Battle Cry” by Imagine Dragons: Chapter 54. I know it’s weird but I feel this song talks about Lanthys and Nesta’s fight.

“Hurt” by Christina Aguilera: Chapter 55. Nesta takes Cassian to the place she lived with her family in the mortal lands. It’s dirty and broken now but it’s still there. Nes talks about her father and realizes how much he’s done for her and her sisters.

“Story Of Another Us” by 5 Seconds of Summer: Chapter 56. I know this sounds like a sad song but to me it represents Gwyn’s present. The story of their past (of another “them”) and also their present.

“Drama Club” by Melanie Martinez: Chapter 57. Eris vibes, y’all. I know you can feel them. Everytime I listen to this song I can’t help but thinking of him. So the only thing I can tell you is: listen carefully.

“Genius” by Sia, Diplo, Labrinth: Chapter 57. Hear this song. It just makes me think of a ballroom where two people try to talk to other people and they’re avoiding to make eye contact. And they fail (yeah, those people are Cassian and Nesta btw)

“Therefore I Am” by Billie Eilish: Chapter 57. Still about Eris, but also Cassian. They can’t stand each other. So imagine the astronomical energy (inside of this bus lmfao) when Nesta comes in between.

“All About Us” by He Is We, Owl City: Chapter 57. Nessian dancing.

“Rock Bottom” by Hailee Steinfeld ft. DNCE: Chapter 58. This song is SO accurate. This is the moment I realized “That’s it. I think I can die happy now” and then I started crying. Nesta just thinking she’s not enough and she deserves to be with someone as ugly as she thinks she is. Cassian is like “shut the hell up, woman” and yeah. That’s the kind of energy and conversation I was waiting for.

“Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis: Chapter 58. Their life becomes brighter. They have to stop crying their heart out because of their fears and the emotions they keep trying to hide. They need to feel free and express all the love they can give to each other.

“Fade Into You” by Nashville Cast, Sam Palladio, Clare Bowen: Chapter 58. Finally the truth comes out and everything becomes real. Even if the song is pretty sad, the lyrics is just SO accurate and it describes the scene perfectly.

“I Miss You” by Adele: Chapter 59. Basically Nesta feeling needy ‘cause she doesn’t see Cassian for days, but it’s more than that. Pay attention to the depth of the song. It shakes you. And that’s what Nesta feels when she thinks of Nesta.

“Carried Away” by H.E.R.: Chapter 62. Nesta thinks they got too carried away and now they’re at a point of no return. She opened herself to him too much. It’s not like she regrets this but she understands that now everything’s too real and changing. She doesn’t feel ready.

"What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes: Ending of Chapter 63. Okay, I’ll make you laugh but this is me after reading it. I needed to put a song about how I felt when I read this freaking ending, after all the devastation Chapter 62 brought into my heart. And the fact that Nesta’s 25 and the first line begins with “25 years”... I DIED. Also I think of her just screaming to the word “WHAT’S GOING ON?!”.

“Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves” by Eurythmics ft. Aretha Franklin: Chapters 64/65/66. DO I NEED TO DESCRIBE IT? NAH, I DON’T THINK SO. THESE GIRLS ARE POWERFUL, STRONG AND SMART AS HELL.

“Run The World (Girls)” by Beyoncé Chapters 67/68/69/70. The girls want to win and they’re going to conquer everything with no mercy.

“Puppets” by Depeche Mode: Chapter 71. Eris impotence t is heartbreaking.

“Warriors” by Imagine Dragons: This song is for every character. It’s about Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn, but also Cassian, Azriel and Eris. They’re fighting different battles and they’re doing it with every ounce of power they have.

“Emperor’s New Clothes” by Panic! At The Disco: Chapter 74. Nesta kicking Briallyn’s ass.

“Survivor” by Destiny’s Child: This song is dedicated to Emerie and Gwyn. They spent all their lives learning how to survive. At the end, they finally won.

“Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele: THE Nessian Anthem. I put this here ‘cause FINALLY they’re endgame. But something bad’s about to happen...

“Cancer” by My Chemical Romance: Chapter 76. This chapter’s been the hardest one to face. I had to put the book down for a minute and breathe. I know this song made you panic and ow you know why I chose it. I can’t stop crying thinking about Feyre in those conditions and all the IC and her sisters surrounding her. I’m still so heartbroken.

“You Saved Me” by Skunk Anansie: Chapter 77. Nesta cares about Feyre. She’s her little sister and she just can’t let her die like that. She gave her a happy ending even if Nes had to lose almost every ounce of power she had and learned to accept. But they’re worthless in comparison with her sisters life. She just loves them both. She’d do anything for them and this scene proves it.

“Lean on Me” by Bill Withers: This song is about friendship and sisterhood. Nesta’s relationship with Gwyn and Emerie, but also with Feyre and Elain (and lowkey Rhys). Also, I dedicate it to little Nyx, too. They all love you, babyboy, and would do anything for you. Welcome to this chaotic world, kid!

“Sorry” by Halsey: Chapter 78. These are not explicit apologies. Nesta doesn’t need to say “sorry” vocally. She already demonstrated it. Her actions speak louder than words and her sister know it. This song is not about a “romantic lover” but a “person who loves” and they all love too much and strongly.

“Amazing” by Aerosmith: WE FINALLY SEE THE LIGHT. This is the happy ending they deserve (but the cliffhanger is killing me tbh). It’s about everyone in this book. I put it in the playlist ‘cause at first I thought it could refer to Azriel and Cassian. But the more i listened to it, the more I realized it just describes every single character.

“this is me trying” by Taylor Swift: Both the songs refer to Chapter 80. Nesta visiting her father’s grave is one of the first steps to finally go on. The songs represent what she really wants to tell her father. He’s the reason to start over. And she’s trying. Even if she made mistakes she’s ready to fight for the happiness and love she denied herself years and now she knows she deserves it.
