I bet in the 3zun + NHS AU, everyone thinks that Lan Xichen is like a young Yue Qingyuan (except of Shen Jiu, of course)

At least Lan Xichen is "sweet" on a not rude person!

To be more accurate, Lan Xichen is obviously going to appear to be much closer to Nie Huaisang than anyone else in Cang Qiong. He's now in that awkward almost-but-not-really-strangers-but-kinda-are state with Nie Mingjue who died in Lan Xichen's early adult life. Compared to the many many decades he lived after Nie Mingjue's death, Lan Xichen is a very different person.

Nie Huaisang comes off as lazy and unmotivated, but his reputation most certainly does not paint him as someone malicious or evil (like Shen Qingqiu). He's just... pampered and slothful.

If anything rumors might paint Lan Xichen and Meng Yao as having a bad breakup because of how awkward the two are with each other.

One day NHS has to go to Qing Jing for something and runs into MY, but it's basically the first time they've seen eachother in person since they got reincarnated. They end up stuck in this horribly awkward polite conversation, which from the outside looks like they're being incredibly terse and icy with eachother.

They're having this intense stare off of "do you remember the whole me killing your brother/you killing my brother and then you killing me/me killing you thing, and most importantly how much are you still mad about it" but from the outside it just looks like two disciples who shouldn't know eachother giving eachother death glares.

SJ is watching this with a single brow arched like, I suppose the disciples are making mortal enemies younger and younger these days

And LBH is like, What do you MEAN my crush RIVAL for shizuns's affection attention already has an archnemesis

To be fair, things are going to be weird AF already because Nie Huaisang is an old laidback man in a young body who likes to make random jokes like "oh I don't think my joints can take that, to be young and carefree again" and "young people these days are in too much of a rush" while Meng Yao died at his prime so he's still ambitious AF, impatient, and anything but laid back...

Add in the fact that Nie Huaisang is used to being respected and obeyed after all his decades of being sect leader vs. Meng Yao who never feels like any of his work results in any true respect...

Things get tense on Meng Yao's side quickly. Nie Huaisang though? He's having fun poking and prodding at this little hissy kitty.

@nacrelysis made a fantastic post on Jiuge and Chu Wanning being brothers and here's my take on it. So, other than declaring Tantai-Jin as RanWan's love child, I have also imagined him as Wanning's twin from time to time. Sooo now Tantai-Jin as Jiuge!

He's a pure guy who wants to do some good in the world much like his little brother. His divinity is more.. palpable? Almost scary at times though mostly kind. Like an unpredictable angel.

However, he tries to murder Taxian-Jun constantly. The level of hate Wanning's beloved Jiuge carries towards his hubby is unprecedented. He has a hint of darkness that tends to come out when his loved ones are threatened and nothing makes his mind blare 'threat' like certain disciples of his little brother.

Xue Meng is fine. Jiuge has happily adopted that one into the Chu family.

Jiuge is also slightly mischevious and constantly tries to make Chu Wanning lighten up, almost always succeeding since it's very easy for him to draw laughs from his little brother (to the sheer delight and also slight jealousy of a certain Venerable one.. but taxian-jun gets over it because nothing is more important than Wanning laughing). Due to their messed up childhood because of Haizui, Jiuge became hyper independent and uncaring of any opinion other than his brother's. Chu Wanning, on the other hand, internalized a lot of hate for himself and Jiuge is the only one who knows about that self-loathing and the only one who can helo take it down a notch (MoRan will take some time to learn, but he'll catch up as Jiuge learns to tolerate him and starts to teach him the 'trade secrets' lol). And I do think that Jiuge and Wanning would have some form of supernatural connection. Maybe they can feel each other's pain (think Black-White from Not Me) or twin telepathy or something. But also, they develop their own forms of communication known only to each other. What else are two divine engineer brothers to do? 🤣

Also, Jiuge is a complete simp when it comes to his wife (obviously Bailu).. she absolutely adores Chu Wanning who calls her Jiejie 🤧 (I've been imagining Bailu as Wanning's Jie since Love is Sweet).

Now can someone give me a codependant Jiuge-Wanning fic pleeaasseeee
