hey, i have a question, how would you write Cassie and Jinny's relationship?

would jinny be on young justice, will it be long distance, what would their dynamic be?

My gut instinct was to say that I’d probably want to focus on them in those first/awkward stages of dating? Half the fun of reading for me sometimes is just enjoying the journey of two idiots figuring things out. Sometimes ya just want some sickly sweet fluff!

But the more that I think abt Cassie having a fraught history dating Kon/Tim, the metas abt comphet & okay also CassieRose visits my mind a LOT, not rent-free just as a surprise guest atm… also Jinny still on the heels of finding her last gf cheating & when we last saw her doin the road-trip thing with her friend (now kinda-sister???)

I’m like 👀 there’s some messy potential here AND I LOVE IT

But to circle back & try to answer in mostly the same order:

If DC were to give me the reins to write a run today, I’d def want to know what Outsiders is gonna do with Jinny first & make sure I’m not stepping on too many toes obvsly. I rlly hope that they’re picking up on the road trip from the end of her Special, but the premise isn’t leaving me super hopeful that there’s any editors left at DC to pay attention to that kind of thing 🙃 also there’s speculation rn abt a new YJ book with a diff cast so I don’t think either of them are gonna be part of YJ here pretty soon 😅

For fic writing tho, the beauty is that we can Licherally do whatever we want, so I can be as canon-compliant or noncompliant as possible so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ in that respect it’s a matter of when I would want that potential fic to take place (or ig what setting 👀 YJ college au request in my inbox I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOUUUU)

Long distance I think doesn’t really factor when one of the pair is able to fly so uh 😅 change in setting would have to be more of a factor to consider that? (Again, college AU I might consider it for its conflict potential 🤔) (also what qualifies as long distance bc I’ve got a friend who’s dating a guy that’s like 3hrs away, but that’s Texas distance so it’s nbd for them to see each other on weekends but I know some ppl would consider Not Living in the Same City as long distance so aksjsks) idk, distance just isn’t a big deal to me in Gen tho too. Like, You Find A Way to make it work or you don’t and that’s where delicious Conflict™️ can take root lol

And ahh dynamic… that age-old question… who’s Red/Blue, the Grump/Sunshine, who falls first vs who falls harder, god there’s so many things to consider. We all have bad days.

And in all his genius, William certainly isn’t a stranger to them.

In fact, most of his days used to be plagued with storm clouds, with no sunshine or light until you stumbled into his life.

You were a gift, your very presence lifted him from the darkest depths, you were undeserved.

Back then, he had realised how angelic you were - Liam just knew that you were too good for him so he tried to scare you off by showing you his intentions, his thoughts, he trusted you with the worst of his plans.

Yet, you didn’t bat an eye. Only acknowledging each and every part of him, you saw him for who he was and began mending his heart because you love him.

William can still feel your warmth encasing him in a hug - that December night, the first time you ever saw him cry. You held him close, stroking his hair and kissed his head like a mother would. You filled that empty void in his chest.

That’s why he wants to do the same for you, Will believes he is forever in your debt.

And when you cry, are upset, have a bad day, he’ll hold you tight; just as you did him.

Also because you are literally the last person in the world that should go through any type of pain.

The corners of your lips downturned as you sat in the living room, cross legged with a cup of cold tea, your hands trembled, biting frost bite seeped into your bones and reached the depths of your soul. You felt heavy in sadness. No thoughts except crystal teardrops cascading down your frowning face.

There was no particular reason for the gloomy mood.

Today just so happened to be an off day, one where no matter what you did to escape it, you couldn’t. Your tea was near frozen over as cold, December nights bled into the estate. You were alone, shivering and crying with no one to confide in.

They’d all gone out to celebrate the closing in Christmas, maybe you should’ve joined them but it was far too late now.

What would they say if they saw you like this?

In your moment of pondering, you didn’t notice a familiar criminal mastermind standing behind you, his arms crossed and a thinking expression plastered on his face. William was confused as to why you hadn’t gone out with the rest of the organization. “(y/n)? I thought you were celebrating with the others.”

You froze in the spot, why was he here? In order to not reveal your distraught state to him, you stayed still without turning around to face him, “So did I.” Nonchalantly reaching for the cup of tea, you shivered upon the sudden coldness against your hand.

“I suppose we’re both in the same boat,” He smiled passively, realizing you were both alone together, “but I’d rather you tell me why you’re upset first.” Liam tapped two fingers on his other arm in anticipation.

A weak laugh echoed across the room, you being the source of it; even though he called your unsaid bluffs, you hadn’t flinched once, you didn’t take William an oblivious man, he was smart and easily figured you out, “I don’t know.”

After your empty chucking fit, you whispered a hoarse reply, nothing but honesty in your disappointed tone. He simply observed your manic attitude, not moving an inch, “I see.”

Staring down at your upturned hands, you felt dissatisfied, unhappy for showing yourself in this depressing light, the one part Will hadn’t seen yet. He was never supposed to see you like this, you were an utter mess today and what’s worse is that he saw it.

You felt the feeling before the sting of your hand as you slapped yourself lightly, “(y/n)-“ William jumped to action immediately, he rushed in front of you in case you dealt anymore harm to yourself. “I’m sorry you have to see me like this, I shouldn’t be crying over…something so simple.”

“Cry all you need to, although I despise seeing you distressed - it’s quite normal and let me tell you a secret-..” He lent to your face, cupping his hand near your ear to whisper something, “..-Sometimes, even I cry.” You giggled slightly at his jest, not noticing that this was his way of cheering you up.

William let a sly grin slide on his lips, “Now that’s the smile I love.” He linked your hands together, landing an intimate peck on your lips, his eyes softened at your delighted face; you were as beautiful as ever, especially when you were happy. He felt some sort of proudness at achieving this.

Hi! I was wondering about your Lost Guardian au from ages ago, do you think you’ll ever plan on updating it and if not, could someone else take up the fic?

So heres the thing. If someone wants to write a fic *inspired* by The Lost Guardian, i’m not gonna stop them, and i’d probably feel super honored so long as the inspiration was correctly credited!

As for ‘taking up the fic,’ the short answer is no.

I have active drafts and the rest of the story already planned out to its finish, notes, even a branch-off fic set post-story that will likely go up on my nsfw blog if i ever get around to editing it. The Lost Guardian hasn’t been abandoned, it’s simply on hiatus. (And yes, i recognize 3 almost 4 years so far is a really fucking long hiatus. The Chapter 9 draft doc was made in december of 2020, and last edited in July 2022)

I started writing that fic whilst still in highschool, a time where I was 17 and didnt have to worry yet about getting my license or maintaining a part time job, i had an over abundance of freetime even partially to my detriment, the fandom was booming and I had plenty of feedback, and this fic was (and still *is*) a story im proud of.

But i’m 22 now, working a full time job to pay rent and account for a number of minor ‘disabilities’(best word i have for them atm) that I cant ignore or push to the side nor treat poorly, from the lasting effects on my body of stunted growth to celiac/glutent intolerance to adhere to that directly determines how easily my body functions for the week, to dealing with glasses i cannot afford to break and taking care of teeth i cannot afford to fix, taking care of my mental health and using the free time i have to do what brings me the most joy at that time.

The sanders sides fandom has heavily quieted down with the season finale hiatus and I’d like to think I did pretty well for going six long years dedicated solely to that without cracking under the silence, because *I knew* when I caved to something else it’d be a long while before I had the drive to come back with any sort of resolution to my active works. Thats just how my hyper fixations work. I cannot focus on multiple at once, it’s too much to process simultaneously and takes away my enjoyment bc I tend to watch/consume things repeatedly to catch every little detail i missed. And it doesn’t help when one loses steam because their content barely breaks 100 notes(80% of which are likes, 15% are reblogs with the occasional comment, and 5% are self-reblogs) when back in the height of it all, a few thousand notes was pretty average interaction. This blog still has about 11.5k followers, almost all of which came from the height of the fandom period. So for now i’ve moved onto the FNAF DCA fandom, bc it is fresh and new to me.

I know you didn’t mean to poke the bear here, I get it, but like.. C’mon. Any other fic of mine likely wouldn’t have gotten the same reaction in full but, still. I’ve had to answer this question a handful of times over the years at the point, which might be why this response feels so charged, and i’m sorry.

I don’t mean to come off as snippy or rude, but it *is* kind of invasive to offer to finish one’s creative work when it’s taking too long and theres very little payback for it. I’ve got adhd, delayed satisfaction isn’t a thing I experience. Just guilt that it wasn’t finished in a way for me to post it in time before I broke and lost all motivation to share it.

In my head, TLG has been long finished and held the ending for years, theres just been no energy to put in the effort of finish writing it for others to read. I’m still trying to get my life together to change that, don’t get me wrong, but the American economy is literally in shambles so who knows how or even if i’ll manage that. Call me selfish for being content with only mentally having my creative story’s ending and a collection of rambles and notes to show for it, but at the end of the day, it’s still my story, and i dont feel comfortable with people trying to ‘take up the mantle’ to finish it, when they don’t know how it ends.

I’m glad you like it enough to want to, though, I really *really* am. I’m just sorry I haven’t been able to finish it for you all. And i just don’t know when that will be, I just know that I *want* to do so, however long it takes.

its anyones guess at the moment bc i keep bouncing around haha right now though i’m working on this fic that takes place over the course of one evening and it’s about a group of old school friends (marauders and co) that all stop their busy lives for an evening and come together to have a dinner party.

and over the course of the evening literally everyone’s secrets come out. lies, scandals, secrets, betrayals,, everyone sucks and they’re all backstabbing one another and it’s very dramatic and scandalous and everyone’s world is rocked and why? idk bc i think it would be a fun character study for me to write. smth smth abt people being the worst versions of themselves and being loved anyway. brothers being wretched to each other but loosing it when other people are wretched to their brother yk

i’m doing a horrible job at explaining this but if you’ve seen the french film nothing to hide it’s very much like that sans the phones and the bad ending!!!

HEHEHEHEHH OF COURSE!!! and the reason for that is probably bc i haven’t posted very many details about them!! most of my rambles have been contained to dms with two of my friends and a currently 2.4k word doc of word and idea vomit 👍

anything posted before the most recent ask hasn’t been tagged correctly either, iirc i had a brief summary of the group a while ago though, tagged with “nightcord wxs” i think?? cause i didn’t have a name for them yet at the time. not changing it cause i’ve figured out more stuff since then so it’s sort of outdated. there’s probably a few posts lost in the marlo’s stuff tag, though that i didn’t tag properly but it’s okay those rambles are probably somewhere in my google doc.

anyway, since you didn’t rlly specify something in particular i’m probably just gonna ramble about whatever comes to mind. once again under the cut cause i can tell this is probably gonna get a bit long:

hollow ☆ wonderland is an online music group, and their videos are like kikuo style ones. but not necessarily ones like you are a useless child and aishite, more ones like and then you became the moon, welcome to the star inn, don’t look at me in that way, etc. pretty cutesy and happy sounding with a cute art style and then the lyrics tell a pretty dark story. that’s their general vibe. there’s a few songs i associate with them like judas by abuse (like i mentioned before) but i can’t confidently say it’s the kind of music they’d make. maybe that’ll change though we’ll see.

the group is composed of hoshi (tsukasa) the main lyricist, koki (emu), the artist, tako (rui) the animator and eventual co-lyricist, and kurage (nene), the composer.

they’re all silly online friends who like making music videos together and while none of them really talk about their issues pre-main story given that they’re not super close/don’t know each other super well yet, they still enjoy doing this together and care at least a little bit about each other.

i’m still figuring out how exactly the main story goes, but i’ve definitely made more progress now so HOPEFULLY i figure out a coherent story soon. i rlly do want to write a fic for them but don’t get your hopes up too much.

a few basic ideas i do have currently are some stuff like tsukasa, despite also being on his last hopes like the rest of them, is going to be the one to really encourage them all to start theater again. their sekai is a rundown theme park with lots of fireflies around, all the plushies are still there but they’re also worn down and have lots of patches and stuff on them. wonder stage has been closed down already, but it hasn’t been like torn down or replaced with a new attraction or anything. will it make a comeback? will hw be using it? we will see :)

i think the world hasn’t even started yet is still gonna be their untitled too. i’m thinking for their unit fits it’s gonna be something similar to the circus jester set cards? or at least the face paint thing. i’m absolutely giving them the face paint thing. and then there’s some other plot ideas i have but i’m not totally sure about them yet and i dunno how much sense they make on their own so i’m not gonna add them here.

uh. tsukasas name is hoshi since it means star iirc? so obviously he gets that name. koki meant something like to glitter, to shine, and i think emu would have liked that enough to choose it. and i already mentioned why rui and nenes names are what they are 👍

Unfortunately probably the Miku exaid fic ;-; the concept is fun and cute but with some stuff I get an outline or somethin cookin and then it never sees the light of day again

I think I’m pretty good at detailed descriptions and visuals. I’m much more an artist than a writer, so I’ve spoken before about how I view my stories like written descriptions of story boards, and I absolutely love to try and paint a picture with my words.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

In my actual writing I’m unsure and would love to hear any feedback, but for me it’s actually just GETTINg myself to write. It takes a lot of mental energy to start the task and I can never really make myself do it, it’s only when I’m in a rare and intense mood for writing somethin that I’ve got a REALLY solid idea on. That’s mostly why I’ve got so few fics. I have more ideas, but it’s difficult to get myself to a point with any of them where I’ll actually write any of it out lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Personally I think it’s neat when other people do it, but unless it’s French I probably never will. Even then I’d be so nervous about getting it wrong I’d probably find some kinda work around

On AO3 it’s King Ohger, but in reality…. Oh boy. Warriors fanfic abt my sonas when I was like 10? Outside of OCs my first canon-aligned fanfic was probably one of the my little pony ones on wattpad. I did mostly original character stuff when I wrote frequently as a tween so I guess I didn’t start with fanfic until like a year or two ago.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I only have a few so I’m proud of them all for different reasons, but I think Sento’s Wandering Mind is one that I’m particularly fond of even tho it didn’t do as well as the others. It’s conceptually something I’ve been trying to put into words for a long time, and it was my first foray into writing anything REMOTELY sexual, which was a huge jump for me that I’m very proud of as a person who previously struggled a lot more with “catholic shame” if I had to put a word to it. It’s kinda a heavy read and isn’t perfect, but the fact that it’s out in the world is important to me and I’m happy with it. Hope you all enjoy!!

He grabbed one of my hands and swayed it back and forth with his. “Hey-“ my face turned an obvious red as I looked at him with death eyes and immediately pulled my hand away. “Dont so that loser-“ he just laughed at me so I started to walk ahead. “Wait up!”

Me and sapnap are watching a movie. He’s on the other side of the couch when he stands up. “I’m going to use the bathroom” he says as he goes to my bathroom and I just keep watching the movie like normal. Once he comes back he randomly sits close to me Instead of the End of the couch. I move over a bit but he follows and at this point I’m corned in the corner of the couch. I can hear him silently laughing me as I look away to hide my face as I feel his eyes on me the whole time.

This might be closer to despair….or not.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

i have actually scrapped every jason wip i’ve had lol. i can’t get his tone right. maybe one day after i’ve read through more of his source material.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?

smth that i enjoy:

when writers remember that jason isn’t all brute strength. he’s a solid fighter, of course, but jason’s always been a thinker. he plans obsessively. his backups have backups. i enjoy fics that take the time to explore how smart he is beyond « ooo he’s a lit nerd » because there’s far more to it than that.

smth that i loathe:

it really upsets me when people write latino jason without actually talking to a latine person or doing any research. please don’t just throw google translate spanish in your fic and call it a day. that’s not ‘latino jason’ it’s lazy and offensive. also i’ve noticed that often writers won’t even bother checking to make sure they’re sticking to the culture they’re trying to portray. there was this one latino jason fic i started to read where they were supposedly writing him as a mexican, but most of the traditions they were actually drawing insp from were from venezuelan culture. so in short ig my issue is that ppl don’t do their research.

when ppl do this, as a latina, it just comes across like they’re making him part of x culture bc it’s like. exotic to them or something. write what you want, but don’t be a dick when you’re portraying someone’s culture.

24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

this is a hard one to answer. i feel like jason is so unique and raw in his characteristics that it can be difficult to compare him to any one character. he’s got depth, that’s for sure.

hesitantly suggesting dr stone’s kohaku for robin!jason. she’s hard working and willing to do what it takes to protect the people she loves/has taken under her care, often times risking her own life to do so.

buttt she can also be exceedingly cautious and is seen threatening the lives of the people she doesn’t trust.

kohaku is a heavy hitter but it takes a lot of pressure to truly make her blind with rage; majority of the time, she thinks about what she says and does, even in battle.

not 100% on this character comparison, for the reasons i stated initially, but it’s the closest similarity i can think of atm.

SO I’m slowly I think coming out of a wip drought bdjnfnggny I kinda went a while without having any inspiration driving me to do anything… but LATELY im getting IDEAS AGAIN and writing them down/rereading my ideas notes app I forgot I had l o l.

It’s pretty much all twst stuff but honorable mention of something that technically is a wip and not just an idea- for dndads there’s a kiss prompt I basically put on the back burner for now bc I Got Too Nervous and stuck on. I’m on mobile so I don’t have a link to the prompt post rn but I was given and and/or choice of these prompts for scam/jodie-

7- French kisses where they trace every tooth with their tongues as though trying to memorize them.

48- One person has to bend down in order to kiss their partner, who is standing on their tip-toes to reach their partner’s.

And like. I technically started it. I’ve thought a lot about it. I have an idea of the direction I wanna go. I’m just scared LOL scam and jodie are very complicated characters and I have trouble getting into their headspaces (despite scam being one of my fave dndads characters ever LOL).  @takiki16 I need your tags immortalized in a separate post because SAME HAT any future “pirate shenanigans” should have a distinctly Stede flavor to them imo. I’m working on a fic atm that includes a scene where Ed points out how insanely badass the events surrounding Stede appear... but only if you’re on the periphery of things/lack some crucial context/are hearing about it second-hand. The Gentleman Pirate has, apparently:

Ordered the killing and successful kidnapping of several British officers

Sent the bodies back to their ship in a blatant display of hostility

Personally murdered their captain, Nigel Badminton, by stabbing him through the eye

Was later seen entering the woods with his brother, Chauncey Badminton, in the dead of night. His body was found the next morning with a gunshot wound in the precise spot where Nigel was stabbed

Won a duel against the infamously talented Israel Hands. Twice!

Was rumored to have ordered Calico Jack off his ship, who has notably not been seen since

Ruthlessly set fire to a ship full of nobles with everyone still trapped on board

Broke Spanish Jackie’s prized nose jar and lived to tell the tale

Most importantly: has the legendary Blackbeard serving on his ship, with his crew, following his orders

Toss in the times when Stede is seen being legitimately badass — “Get off my ship. Now,” “Unhand me or bleed,” “Good. Because I rather enjoyed it,” “He does have the eyes of a madman” — and the general pirate populace’s idea of The Gentleman Pirate is potentially VERY DIFFERENT from the actual, Muppet-induced hilarity that has led to these outcomes. 

So The Revenge meets back up with Stede, under the impression that he’s done some insanely heinous, impressive shit... only to find that everything that’s happened has just been Stede-ified.

“Mate, what’s this about you blowing up the Royal Privateering Academy??”

“What? No! I just sent them a strongly worded letter about their terribly scratchy blankets and insistence on dictating how others present themselves. I quite like you clean-shaven, Ed, but you should have been able to decide for yourself whether you kept the beard or not.”

Hard cut to a “The Best Revenge is Dressing Well” situation where Stede’s letter just happened to be read by the right officer having a No Good Very Bad Day, who takes it out on some underling, which starts a massive brawl, which results in a fire, which hits their stock of gunpowder... but all any survivors saw was The Gentleman Pirate sailing away, whistling a merry tune, moments before the Academy goes boom.

The price on Stede’s head skyrockets and yeah, Jim is going all Team Kraken about it XD

And on Tumblr I don't really look much, I just interact with you guys ❤ on YouTube I ain't seen nothin, but then again I watch a lot of baking stuff on there so my suggested is just lots of that 😂 so I'm not seeing a lot of what's going on around social media rn and I'm honestly grateful for that 😭

Hmmm. That is honestly a very hard question. Here's the thing. I was asked this a while back, if we were to be told that one of them has a significant other, would I stop writing smut out of respect for them? Well, I've never written smut anyway LOL but of course I would stop for that idol.

Right now I'm just going to keep doing I'm doing, because my current fic does not involve Tae as a romantically involved character, he's a side character that has a platonic role. Obviously my past few things have been JK-centric, so it doesn't really affect my work atm.

I have actually had two different Tae fics in the works for a while now, ngl I'm not sure what to do with them!

Do you guys have any opinions regarding this? I'd love to know bc I honestly don't know! I feel like my gut reaction is to not post anything with Tae as a romantic partner. Do you guys think that's too much or would you agree? The last thing I'd ever want to do is offend someone.
