I think I only used song lyrics for one title this year, and that was from a Fall Out Boy song ("Hurricane Heat in My Head" for my jealous!Luffy fic). I used poems more frequently for titles this year, and I used Emily Dickinson more than others.

Oh, this one is hard. I'm going to go with this line from "My Heart, Fragile in Your Hands":

hi, thanks for the questions!

-growing up in the lab was pretty tough, especially for one Leo. he was the oldest, so he not only had to take care of the others, but also was experimented on probably the most. when he wasn't being tested on, he was mostly making sure his brothers were healthy and fed.

he actually had to spend a lot of time helping donnie, because donnie got sick very easily and when he went blind, he needed a lot of help getting around.

he also tried to keep mikey as oblivious as possible since mikey wasn't being tested on at the time (leo had talked stockman & bishop into a deal- they could do extra texting on him if they left mikey alone. he would have made the deal with raph and donnie as well, but bishop refused to give up his data on them.)

once they were rescued by splinter though, things got better. leo helped splinter take care of the others and after a while, they finally settled in and felt safer, and they could finally live out the childhood that they missed out on.

-this is actually a pretty cute story. i don't remember if i mentioned it before or not but who cares if i tell it again, i like it.

SO. the boys actually didnt have names for a while when in the lab. they were referred to as test subjects One, Two, Three, and Four. when splinter found them, that's when he decided to give them real names. while splinter was teaching them to remember their names, he was also playing with mikey (who is three at the time), and he got a splinter in his finger. mikey asked what it was, he said 'just a splinter', and mikey thought that was a name. so he and the others started calling him splinter.

-well, i dont wanna give too much away, BUT.... bishop & stockman did survive the fire that burned their lab down. both thought that the other had died. bishop used this opportunity to leave his job working for shredder. stockman, on the other hand, went back to shredder.

Summer/Hot Weather Things for Middle Regressors and Dreamers

Make some lemonade and freeze it in molds to make lemonade popsicles. These are super tasty and refreshing after a long hot day!

Water gun or nerf blaster battles with friends. If you’re using nerf or another toy that shoots foam darts, remember to protect your eyes with goggles.

Temporary glitter tattoos! You can get them done at some boardwalks or you can buy a kit online.

Body glitter, now that it’s tank top weather! I bought some at claire’s and it smells like strawberries :D

Just chilling outside in the evenings now that the days are longer. Bring a plushie with you and enjoy the nice weather.

Once it gets dark, you can play games like flashlight tag!

Thrifting summer clothes can be fun and affordable!

Dressing up dolls in summer clothes and swimsuits, or pinning flower hair clips to your plushies’ ears.

Summer playlists! I have to admit I always tell myself I’m going to make one and then forget, but remembering will be worth it.

If you have someone to drive you, take a summer day trip to somewhere you don’t usually go. Now’s a good time for that summer playlist.

Friendship bracelets! You can make kandi, rainbow loom, or traditional woven bracelets and give them to the people close to you.

On that note, miniature friendship bracelets or collars for your plushies.

Make a summer bucket list of all the fun things you want to do this summer, and check them off as you complete them!

Last but not least, remember to wear your sunscreen!

I love Chiyo- and I kind of headcanon her as a Witch of the Woods (Sands???) archetype- a bitter old woman who has sacrificed too much, experienced and committed more atrocities than anyone can imagine, and who knows the truth about what lies in the hearts of men to live among the villages anymore.

In my AU she's got a pretty dark backstory. Back in time when Villages were just getting established, women weren't allowed to be shinobi in the same capacity as men. There was too much warring and death among the clans to risk women, so they were only ever allowed to serve as spies or medics. (Chiyo started off as a medic).

And like any military/fascist dictatorship, serving the state was more important than anything else- so women who were kunoichi were given missions to steal and return with powerful bloodlines. Even before villages, this was a common fear among clans (which is why so many of them have protective measures and inbreed/arrange matches very carefully).

Chiyo was one such woman, who took a X-rated mission in her youth because she was told it would 'serve her nation'. There was a powerful bloodline whose Kekkei Genkai could harden sand to something akin to Steel- something Suna very desperately wanted.

Chiyo succeeded in her mission, but despite the veneer of 'serving your nation', when she returned, she was considered, in her words, "Just another whore."

Then when her son didn't manifest the bloodline- it was worse, but Chiyo was happy because that meant her son was HERS. (This is when she met Enji, and he saved her son's life at great cost- so Chiyo owes him a blood/life debt.)

Then the war came, and they needed women to fight so now serving the nation meant something different, and Chiyo became a full fledged 'shinobi' and turned her healing towards poison and death- especially when she had to fight the Salamander.

Then she sealed Gaara and that was the atrocity straw that broke the camel's back and she dipped out Suna and retired to an oasis. She's still a healer, but adamantly refuses to serve shinobi.

1: i havent completely thought about it, but they'd all probably love bluey and see that as a comfort show. donnie probably really likes greys anatomy and really any sort of 911-medical show too.

going off that, the boys also have wildly different views on horror content. donnie absolutely loves it no matter how freaky, leo and raph cant stand it (though raph sometimes plays horror games), and mikey likes psychological horror
