Kim *sees a troubled man who started dating her because she looks like his late wife*: This is the role of a lifetime.

I'm calling it now... Kim doesn't exist. She's only in Eddie's head.

Hold on, hear me out.

Their interactions have this strange, eerie mood. Like they know each other but Eddie points out that he doesn't know her. And she talks about trust, but it doesn't sound flirty.

There is something dangerous about their interactions, some looming threat.

In the end scene we see Eddie alone for a moment and for me it gave me this Sixth Sense vibe. Also she is presented as this femme fatale when she approaches the table. And they both wear black (actually Eddie also wears black when he talks to her earlier, but not when he only watch her) which may be an indication to unresolved grief (or not mourning properly).

And the last thing... ONLY Eddie has interactions with her... I mean yeah, it can be accidental, there was nobody around, but it does add to the strange, dangerous vibe...

So yeah... she's in his head... He lost his last anchor (Buck) and now he is losing his mind...

No but like writers and buddie stans respectfully don’t want it a cheating arc for the wedding episode vrs the writers giving Eddie a cheating arc also they are doing vertigo and Tim talks about it so what I got from that is Shannon/ Kim works as a way for Eddie to break up with Marisol which like the hey could of done it easily but they want to give more trauma to pour Eddie and I feel like they gonna pull out a bones and show that actually Kim doesn’t look like Shannon and is all in eddies head also apparently Buck meets her and is like you don’t look like Shannon so if that happens prove is only on eddies head also I don’t think Eddie could like fully if the Buck seeing Kim is true I don’t think Eddie fully would say I went out with her when you think I was out with my girlfriend he would be more like I don’t know why this girl I saw looked similar to Shannon and Buck like no she doesn’t I do think that maybe Kim Shannon vertigo vibes can make Eddie start questioning his sexuality you know I was actually happy that they cut the m and Eddie kiss from this episode cause I think we all cringed when we saw the stills and we were like we don’t need stills and I’m still mad they got for cheating but we all gotta know that Ryan Murphy has a thing for cheating I mean glee is the blue print of it all so and I mean even Buck cheated so but I did appreciate they didn’t made buddie kiss in the party I was scared for that and like Oliver is like he don’t want cliches with Buddie which makes me think they he doesn’t love Buck Tommy as much cause they are a cliche actually like the jealousy is such a cliche and he didn’t even understand his jealousy at all but is a cliche

Okay that was a lot anon. But I'm going to try to hit the major points.

I'm pretty sure that Kim/Shannon is not all in Eddie's head based on the interviews, but its still a really fun (yet sad) theory.

Vertigo (which I have never seen so I can't really say much on) seems to be a running theme with this cheating storyline. But god I hope it won't result in the death of Shannon again.

Tim does seem to love his cheating storylines. 4X's now in just 911 alone. Like damn.

And I agree that Buck did not understand his jealousy and imprinted his confused feelings onto Tommy. I can't say if Oliver likes the relationship or not, but he has yet to hype it up on insta... he's only done that with buddie. Hehehe.

Can I be annoying for a sec and say that Eddie went to great lengths to spend time with Kim without her or Marisol finding out who she reminded him off to the point he himself felt like he was losing it bc he couldn’t stop but the minute Buck walks into his kitchen and tells him he’s worried about him in that soft voice of his he comes clean to her

at first i was like why didn’t they make the sex flashback with shannon clearly a flashback like the others in the episode and then i realized that it wasn’t a flashback eddie’s just actively rewriting his relationship with shannon while eating lunch with his girlfriend and plotting to cheat on her with the random woman he met at a boutique that slightly resembles his dead wife who did in fact ask him for a divorce before she died but eddie’s not gonna remember that detail rn is he

All that we see or seem

Eddie is going on dates with Kim. They talk a lot. In a restaurant, in a park, long walks by the beach at night. She is not Shannon but he feels like he's with her. She doesn't finish his sentences, she just knows what he is going to say before he says it. She knows him. He can trust her. 

At some point Eddie invites Kim to his place. There are pictures of him and Shannon there, but he didn't hide them, didn't cover them. Kim doesn't pay attention to any of them, and Eddie doesn't notice this. Because it's somehow natural. He can trust her. She knows even though he never mentioned Shannon.

It's natural, it feels right, she's where she's supposed to be... by his side... alive...

She is sitting by the table, Eddie walks to the kitchen to make her coffee and there is Shannon, reminding him how to make her favourite coffee. They laugh because of course he remembers. He gets back to the living room and Shannon is there too. She has blonde hair but it still feels natural. And there somewhere in the background Eddie sees a christmas tree and Shannon is there, a bit younger with bright blonde hair... That's strange, but he's too happy to care... The one sitting next to him talks about Chris... Did he mention Chris to her? But she's Shannon, her hair now dark, matching the color of the coffee... She starts the sentence, the other Shannon finishes it. Their outfits are now the same, their hair color changes every time he changes the one he's focusing on. But it's ok, they just need to catch up... it will all make sense in a moment...

...because they know him, they know everything about him, he doesn't have to say anything, they talk to him... She's finally talking to him... her voice is clear and loud, not like in his dreams... it's real... wherever he looks Shannon is right in front of him... real, alive, almost in his reach...

Time is passing, they talk, they laugh, they argue... he said the wrong thing again, she's disappointed, she's mad, she's sad, she's hurt... every single of her emotions is talking to him at once... and all of them are saying it's his fault... 

He needs to move but his legs won't listen, he loses his ground, falling, drowning... he's on the floor, scrambling away as Shannon after Shannon merges above him in one image that is glitching and blurring... and every time he says he's sorry her shape becomes sharp... and every time he admits to a failure her voice became clear... and he just wants to see her and hear her... because she's here... by his side... he can trust her...

Few hours later Buck finds Eddie sitting in the corner of the room, tugging his own hair, staring at the empty space in front of him. His mouth is moving but Buck needs to come closer to hear faint raspy "sorry","fault" and "Shannon". He kneels in front of Eddie, he wants to break this damn matra but he's afraid to touch him. 

He speaks with a gentle voice "Eddie? Eddie it's me... can you look at me? Eddie please, just look at me..."

The shape is glitching again, the voice is disturbed by distant yet familiar sound. He trusts her, but he can't trust himself anymore. Eddie begs her to not leave him, he cries for her. His voice doesn't sound like his anymore. He's saying she's dead, she's not real. Why would he say that when he can feel the warmth of her skin around his wrist... when he can feel...

Buck's heart sinks when he hears Eddie's howling pleas.

"Eddie... Shannon is dead, she's not here... it's not real... Eddie please..."

Buck grabs him by the wrist and pulls Eddie's hand to his chest. "This is real. This..." He unbuttons his shirt so Eddie can feel his heartbeat "Can you feel this? This is real. Eddie!" Buck places a hand on the side of Eddie's face "Eddie please... snap out of it... just... just look at me... come back..."

He can feel the warmth under his palm. For a moment, a minutes or seconds, there is nothing more... but then he feels it... a heartbeat... He knows this heart, he trusts it...

The shape of Shannon melts into dark blonde hair. The blue eyes are looking at him. He trusts those eyes.

"Buck?"

I felt inspired by s7x07

I have this theory that Kim is not real, she’s only in Eddie’s head (I shared this already).

I mean the first time he sees her she is real (probably - credits to Jimmy for this one), but the interactions where he talks to her (he’s wearing black) are happening in his head. Their meetings are strange, eerie… There is something dangerous about her… and the main thing - only Eddie actually interacts with her.

I’m probably wrong but I have fun with this theory so… this above is just a short story of how I see Eddie losing his mind and Buck bringing him back to reality.

it’s amazing how our brains choose to remember the good things about the people we love when they die. everything gets viewed through rose colored glasses until it becomes distorted. for eddie, falling in love with shannon was magic and while things became difficult the love was always true. their problems were on him not shannon. he wasn’t enough, he screwed up, he should’ve, he could’ve. he’s rewriting history to place her on a pedestal because she’s yet another person he’s outlived. someone who deserves to be here when maybe he doesn’t. (there’s also the fact that he wants to remember her this way for christopher’s sake. to erase her flaws and her humanity in favor of making her the hero of the story.) and now he’s choosing to live in the delusion of a second chance. but he will end up disappointed because kim can’t live up to the ideal. shannon can’t live up to the ideal. that’s the part of grief eddie needs to reckon with....

“Oh, Eddie.” I’m so sorry, Eddie. You shouldn’t have to be going through this. Neither of you. I know you never meant for this to happen. Tell me how I can help, tell me how I can be here for you. I’m sorry, Eddie, I know you miss her. I wish I could make it better for you. I wish I could ease your heart. Oh, Eddie, I wish I could take yours and Chris’ pain away.
