So. I don't mean to offend anybody but Rachel Zegler is courageous and brave in a way that I'm not sure I would be at 23 years old with my career on the line. She tweeted 'Free Palestine' on her personal account and now she is being blamed/made the scapegoat for why the Snow White movie is not doing as well as Disney predicted.

For context: Gal Gadot (of "let's sing 'Imagine' to healthworkers-fame and 'I'm proud to have served in the 1DF' fame) plays the evil Queen.

Also for context: the producer, Marc Platt, flew across the country to reprimand a 23 year old for making said tweet. He asked her to delete it. She did not. Now Marc's son has taken to social media to "expose" Rachel's selfishness. They strongly believe her tweet is hurting the box office and jobs. The movie is done. There are no more jobs or employment. Producers get a cut from box office earnings. So all they really had to say was, "Rachel's tweet is costing my father and my family money! Take it down!"

Anyways. She didn't. And hasn't.

i hate how sometimes people make out rachel to be this tragic heartbroken mess. WELL FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT

and the scene after that she said "I don't have to tell you what you have to do now, right?" with the next scene being percy confessing to annabeth

she genuinely CHOSE to be the oracle, if she was really serious about percy she would have not have gone along with the whole thing without being a tiny bit sad about not dating percy

she flat out admitted percy was just a vehicle for her to be involved with the greek world

she is not august by taylor swift. she is not driver's license by olivia rodrigo. she did not care less about percy once he didn't reciprocate pls 😭

i was playing hoa with a couple of my siblings last week and boy was i IN THE TRENCHES.

here's the thing: you will never catch me calling eric a good person. virtually everything about him is unlikeable, especially in the beginning of the game. main traits are overbearing & insecure, he can't take responsibility for his actions, and he's easily irritated and emotional. and that's just to name a few things. the only things i genuinely appreciate about him are his loyalty and his knowledge. obviously he can become much better depending on how you play him, but overall he is not great. what was actually bothering me was them acting like eric bringing up his and rachel's marriage & falling out was something unheard of.

i know how it feels to be a part of something that you thought was unique and precious, only to find out it was fragile enough that one event--an event that happened to both parties by association but affected you disproportionately--could shatter the entire thing. i know how it feels to have someone tell you since that event you aren't igniting the exact same feelings in them anymore, then be fed hollow excuses that don't even disguise the fact that they blame it on you because every time you attempt to get closure you're told you're guilt-tripping (rachel's line, "don't. i still feel guilty" slapped me in the face the first time i played hoa, and it still gets me whenever i hear it. it's so simple and ambiguous, but it really ate away at me).

duh, staying alive/escaping is the main objective but you cannot tell me that, in those quiet moments, you wouldn't at least be thinking of the same things eric was. if i was placed right before my partner whom i hadn't seen in a year, if we departed each other in the midst of doubt and uncertainty, i would 100% be seeking answers. so yeah. i got a little bit defensive of eric, heh heh.

I've been rereading the Holland legacy from the start and noticed that you only started to incorporate story posts when Charlie was a teenager. I was curious what inspired you to start? I'm having so much fun reading it all again! You do such a good job making dialogue feel natural and giving your characters distinct voices. Could you talk about your process in writing and creating those scenes and how you balance them with gameplay?

hey, thank u sm glad ur loving it!! the reason i started to incorporate storytelling into my gameplay again is bc i actually became unemployed when i started playing teen charlie so i all of a sudden had a bunch of time on my hands and needed something to keep myself busy and i've always enjoyed creative writing so this seemed like the perfect outlet for me at the time and it just kinda spiraled from there as i became more attached to my sims as i wrote them!

as for my process i'll do my best i always find it hard to explain things so i apologise if this seems all over the place!

i actually got a lot of inspo from previous storytelling i've included in my older legacies (if anyone's been here a while philip x jett & bradie x blue from my goth legacy heavily inspired the storyline and direction i took with charlie x eli and i'm a sucker for a best friends to lovers story). as for balancing with gameplay i always try to keep it more on the gameplay side or else i find myself getting stressed out because i'm putting pressure on myself to tell a story instead of actually playing my game.

Rightfully so btw, because he's a terrible character both morally, as a version of Apollo and even as a villain, his writing sucks.

Okay so full disclosure, I never finished LO because I do actually love myself and suffering through shitty greek myth adaptations is only fun for me if I can tell that the author has a point they're trying (and failing) to bring across. Lore Olympus was already failing on so many levels that by the time the Apollo assaulting Persephone thing came up and I realised it was going to be a recurring thing, I was so mentally checked out that I couldn't even be scandalised LOL

Nothing about him even remotely resembles the figure Smythe claimed him to be an interpretation of which honestly is a shame considering that I absolutely adore a villainous Apollo and he makes for an utterly terrifying antagonist when done correctly.

Like, in a vacuum, I don't even mind an 'Apollo who wishes to usurp Zeus as king' story! There's a legitimate case to be made for Apollo being born before Ares and therefore being Zeus' firstborn son. There is a legitimate conflict to be dug into about Zeus' two most favoured counsels being children from relationships outside of the one with his wife. And Apollo was honestly a massive asshole when he was a young god! He was rash and impulsive, he ran about treating the world like it already belonged to him and didn't particularly care about the people he displaced or inconvenienced in his rush to establish himself. He was insulting his fellow gods, had a ton of pride and was enough of a terror that I genuinely think the islands and coves had the right idea refusing Leto sanctuary because they were afraid Apollo would trash the place the moment he was born LMAO

If Lore Olympus meant to channel this rowdy Apollo into their mess of a character, then they also did a terrible job of that because, vitally, LO's Apollo isn't intimidating. He's written to be pathetic, self agrandising, cowardly and foolish - the kind of person that's meant to look bad in order for the protagonists to look good. Apollo as a villain should be so destructive so as to inspire fear - the kind of ruthless, focused destroyer that makes you remember that he's named not for light but for the very destruction that he's now bringing.

So like, yeah, I don't like LO! Apollo 😂 Frankly, I think of him more as like someone's pet who was named after the god rather than something that's meant to actually share any qualities with him. The actual worst thing about that little freak is that it introduced a ton of people to the concept of Apollo and now there's people who cannot divorce the image of Apollo from a vile, pathetic, idiotic rapist who cannot even gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss his way into a decent succession plot.

Also he's not pretty, not handsome, and has short hair. Waste of my damn time is what he is 🤨

I thought Anna was extremely interesting, but with the limited time we get in each season I still think Brad x david could’ve been actually built upon in a way that made sense. A friends with benefits not actually unrequited loved that’s never really resolved?

Jalim - Salim exclaims he is cold. Jason starts taking off his jacket. Before Salim can say "thank you", Jason throws the jacket on the ground and sets it on fire. Trying to be romantic, Jason pulls out the "I'd set myself on fire if it meant keeping you warm" line. Salim is not pleased.
