[A world in which they need each other] Prologue

A/N: This is the prologue to my new Alpharad x pChal Pokémon Gen 9 isekai fic. It's my first fic in eight years, and my first RPF in ten, so please go a bit easy, but I always enjoy constructive criticism.

Prologue: A rare find

Jan was looking along the rainy Tokyo street. Despite night had fallen over an hour ago, it felt unnaturally bright. Neon lights and the shop signs illuminated the people walking by and left reflections on the wet sidewalks and awnings. While Jaiden had abandoned them after leaving the Shibuya Pokémon Lab to escape the rain, Jacob had heard of some “secret”, “only-insiders-know-about-this” spot for vintage and rare Pokémon artifacts. If Jan was honest, he just wanted to head back to the hotel and get some rest. It had been a long day and exciting day on his feet, and the exhaustion was catching up to him. 

Then there was also last night. Jacob, him and the gang had been out drinking very late, leaving him with little sleep and a hangover that had gotten better from spending time outside, but was still not helping his mood. There was also the small issue of what happened last night when they were drinking. After maybe not too many, but still plenty of drinks, Jacob and he had quite unabashedly made out in front of their friends and the other patrons of the bar they were at. It wasn’t that Jan cared that they kissed – he had kissed guys before, and being drunk and kissing a friend wasn’t usually something he worried about. When he woke up this morning though, the moment was still stuck in his head and made him feel confused, like there was a knot in his stomach. It was probably just a case of having to come to terms with whatever he was feeling, and he had successfully suppressed it most of the day, but being alone with Jacob now didn’t help with that.

“Jan, it’s over here!” Jacob called out as they approached, carrying a transparent plastic umbrella with the Gen 1 starters on it, their hair gleaming in the light of the neon signs that shone through it. “Coming.” Jan started to trudge along behind Jacob, when they stopped for a moment and moved the umbrella towards him, as to offer him to join him under it. A small smile flashed across Jan's lips, and he moved closer to Jacob, stepping into the small patch of dryness, now huddled against their coat. “Thanks.” The two of them continued towards the small store, nestled around the corner of a small alleyway, lit mostly by the shining lights of the main street and some dim, wall-mounted streetlights.

The small storefront looked like nothing special. A slightly yellowing backlit Japanese sign was mounted above large glass windows, adorned from the inside with slightly scuffed and out-of-date Pokémon posters and an otherwise seemingly arbitrary array collection of dusty figures, plushies, sealed trading cards, game boxes and countless mismatching licensed trinkets. Stepping into the small store, Jan and Jacob could see the theme of overstuffed clutter and dim lighting continuing on the inside. It was made up of two narrow aisles squeezed between a center row of shelves and the packed walls, connecting at the back. Some of the many objects haphazardly balanced on shelves, attached to the walls, or, in the case of some big statues in the back of the store, standing on the ground. Some items seemed like they could be valuable to a collector or a fan of some specific niche of the fandom. Nothing seeming as special or rare as the store’s reputation would have made them hope for jumped out at them. Jan felt a bit underwhelmed, and judging by the look on Jacob’s face, the feeling was mutual.

“See anything?” Jan asked, more out of politeness, though his tone betrayed his disappointment at the now seemingly needless detour. “Nope.” Jacob responded despondently. They wriggled through the tight space from one aisle to the other, at least wanting to give the shop every chance to salvage what so far looked like a disappointment. A few of the shelves hidden in the back corner came into view, but looked like mostly dilapidated consoles, handhelds and old games. Jan walked past, and, seeing that the remaining selves didn’t look much more promising, slowly began making his way towards the door. 

“Wait a moment.” Jan heard Jacob say. When he turned around, he saw them wrangling forth what looked like a box for a Switch game from behind some knick-knacks. Jan walked back, careful not to knock anything from the shelves, and looked at the box Jacob had in their hands. The box art resembled the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet box art, but featured both Miraidon and Koraidon – and two trainers, looking like your default boy and girl video game character. The title read Pokémon Scarlet, Violet – and YOU! Jan and Jacob both furrowed their eyebrows in confusion – this was not a Gen 9 game either of them had seen before, or, for that matter, a game they had seen before at all. Jacob flipped the box around, but the text was completely in Japanese, and too much for both of their limited tourist knowledge of the language. Turning it back around, it seemed like the title began to glimmer all of a sudden, for a second, it seemed like they could look into a world behind the legendary Pokémon and their trainers.

“Ah, a very special thing you have there.” Jan and Jacob jumped. The cashier, an elderly Japanese man, had quietly walked up to them from the cash register next to the door and was now looking over his shoulder at the box in Jacob's hand. “It’s a factory leak. Rumor is it's the only one.” Jan looked at Jacob skeptically, who looked back at him a bit confused from what they saw moments ago. After a second, Jacob shrugged. 

“Hey, if we play this on stream together, it'll be good content, no matter if it's a flop or the game to save Gen 9. Or just a creepy pasta.” They said, clearly wanting to make the best of a bad situation. 

“How would we play it together? One of us playing it while the other one is watching through Discord would hardly be fun, and I’m not sure that this is link compatible with the normal games.”

“I mean, we're both here. I could shoot Connor a message – he or someone he knows here is bound to have a streaming setup we could use for a few hours to try it out in person together.” Jacob said, now clearly sounding more excited.

Jan realized he wasn't getting out of this. “Okay, fine. But only if we nuzlocke it, Gen 9 is enough of a drudge as it is.”

“Of course, Mr. Nuzlocke King.”

They walked towards the cash register and stopped. Jacob searched the box for a price tag, not finding one. He looked up at the man behind the cash register, who, before they could ask anything, said, “Don't worry about payment – it found you for a reason, it is not my business to interfere.” Jacob did not know what exactly to make of this, so he nodded, confused, and thanked the man before quickly leaving the store. Jan followed him, still looking skeptical, but now at the shop owner. The guy looked like he, without a shadow of malice, sincerely believed in what he just said.

It had stopped raining, and the two started walking towards the nearest metro station. 

“That was… weird.” Jacob said, still sounding unsure of what had just transpired.

“Hmm.” 

“Are you still up for playing it?” Jacob asked in a tone somewhere between convincing, hopeful, and forlorn.

“You saw what I saw, right? How the box art changed all of a sudden?” Jan asked matter-of-factly.

“I'm sure that was just a trick of the light.”

“Sure.” Jan said, unconvinced. He could tell Jacob was excited to play this weird game. In the end, what really could go wrong. It was a Switch game. He didn’t believe in ghost stories, and the worst thing that could happen would probably be it being even more of a buggy mess than the normal Scarlet & Violet were on release. Doing something he was used to doing together with Jacob, like fooling around in some Pokémon game, might just get his mind off last night.

Jacob looked at him. He opened his mouth to say something, but didn’t know what to say. Jan was someone who’d speak his mind if he would rather not do something, but still, he seemed uneasy. Maybe it was just the disappointment of not finding something more interesting at the store. Perhaps he was just tired. It had been a long day on their feet after all.

They said their goodbyes at the metro stop, having to take trains in different directions. Before Jacob turned away to get his train, he flashed Jan a brief, apologetic smile. Jan just gave a slight nod before putting in his earbuds and entering the waiting train.

When Jan arrived at his hotel room, he tossed aside his jacket, took off his shoes, and quickly got ready for bed. He drew the curtains, and checked his phone one more time before turning off the lights. Jacob had messaged him.

Jacob: Connor is off filming a Trash Taste special tomorrow, he said we can use his stream setup if we get there in the morning before he leaves.

Jan: When do we have to be there?

Jacob: Around 9

Jan: Okay

Jacob: Here’s the address: [Connor’s Address]

See you then 🙂

Jan: You too, gn

Jacob: Good night

He put his phone on the nightstand, turned off the lights, tucked into his blanket, and laid his weary head to rest. For a few seconds, he watched the lights from outside cast thin, long bands onto the wall and headboard above him. For a second, he thought about getting back up and closing them. He decided against it.

When he closed his eyes, he saw the lights shift to a bright white void in front of his mind’s eye. He could make out the shimmering outlines of an imposing yet familiar seeming creature. He seemed to be floating in front of it.

Through his mind, a deep voice boomed, “Follow my call, Jan. Come to me.”

At that moment, he felt a hand grasp his arm. He jerked his head to see whose hand it was, and saw the shimmering of another familiar, this time human, figure. Before he could make out who it was, he felt his stomach drop out and himself free-falling into darkness.

8:57 AM. Jan arrived at Connor’s apartment building in a residential area of Tokyo. He hadn’t slept well, and was still a bit drowsy, despite the half-drunk konbini coffee. Checking the front door of the apartment complex, looking for a doorbell labeled Colquhoun, he quickly realized that he would have to enter an apartment number to use the intercom. He wrote Jacob a message, asking him if he had already arrived. He took a long swig, emptying the rest of the disposable cup and stuffed it in his jacket pocket – as with the rest of Tokyo, there was no trash can in sight.

Waiting, he checked his socials. Jacob had already hinted they might be streaming together on Twitter last night, but he had only announced it this morning, so, for most of his audience, it was going to be a surprise stream. Not to mention that for his European viewers, it was going to be a surprise stream in the middle of the night. Nonetheless, his post and made some good impressions. In the time collaborating with Jacob, he had definitely found out that they were good clickbait for any announcement or thumbnail.

“Hey Jan!” he heard an out-of-breath voice. When he raised his head, he saw Jacob quickly walking towards him. “I hope I haven’t kept you waiting for long.”

“Don’t worry, I just arrived” Jan replied.

Jacob beelined towards the intercom.

“Connor sent me his apartment number, give me a moment.” they said, pressing buttons on the keypad.

“Colquhoun?” a voice came through the tinny speaker.

“Hey Connor, it’s us, Jan and Jacob!” Jacob said, louder than was probably necessary for the intercom to pick up his voice.

“Great, I’m on the second storey.”

The door buzzed, and Jacob pushed it open, holding it open for Jan before they walked through it themself. They were greeted at the apartment door by a smiling Connor, who beckoned them to come in. 

“Just put your shoes here –” Connor pointed at a shoebox next to the door “– and you can hang your jackets here” he said, waving towards the hooks on the wall, before walking ahead into the apartment.

“Can I offer you two something to drink?” Connor asked.

“Just a water.” Jan replied.

“Me too, please.” Jacob responded in kind. “Have you two ever met before?” They asked.

“Not yet,” Connor replied, filling up two glasses, “but I’ve watched some of your videos, Jan, when I was practising and memorising strats for a Nuzlocke I did,” he finished, handing Jan and Jacob their glasses.

“Thanks.” Jan said, a bit surprised, but confident.

He showed them his streaming setup, helped plug in the Switch, and explained the inputs and OBS setup.

“That should be everything, if you need anything else, just message me. I might just take a while to answer between shoots. If you’re thirsty, help yourselves to some coffee or tea, there are also a few litres of pop around here.” Connor told them as he put on his jacket and picked up his backpack. “Have fun, guys!” he said as he walked out the door, before he could hear Jacob and Jan thank him.

They both spent some more time setting up the multistream to both their channels and getting the Switch ready. The Switch menu showed a game icon very similar to the box art, just that the trainers were replaced by two older people, a brunet and a bearded blond, still in the same pose, holding Pokéballs and all. Neither of them noticed, though, as they were busy getting ready.

“Ready?” Jacob asked, looking at Jan.

“Yup.”

“Then let’s go.” Jacob said, pressing the Start Streaming button.

After greeting chat and waiting for some viewers to come in, Jacob took the lead.

“So, as you all have probably seen by now, Jan and I are doing a stream together from Tokyo, special thanks to Connor for allowing us to use his setup.”

“Yup, and it’s definitely the most… JoJo streaming environment I’ve ever been in.” Jan added, deadpanning.

“So, anyway, we’re playing a – well, let’s say, a special game today –” Jacob announced, holding the box into the camera.

“– not to mention a game you picked up in a mysterious storefront in an alleyway.” Jan joked.

“I remember you being there too,” Jacob teased and continued, “so, from what we were told, this is some weird pre-release fusion of Scarlet & Violet.”

“Let’s hope pre-release isn’t code for ‘even more of a buggy mess than the actual game releases’” Jan quipped.

“And if they are, we have you here as our resident Pokémon know-it-all to get us through it.” Jacob said, lightheartedly, and switched scenes to the Switch screen capture, with chat and the face cam to the side and corner.

“Ready?” they asked.

A TTS message interrupted them. “pChalpha cheered x100: ‘Finally more Jan and Jacob collabs? Always up for some more of the favorite enemies to lovers arc! :pokemoPog:’”

“I guess so.” Jan replied, swallowing a bit and purposely ignoring the TTS.

Jacob selected the game icon, pressed A, and suddenly, everything went white. Both of them felt like they were ripped away through the back of their seats, away from earth, into an endless white void. Within seconds, both of them had passed out.

All the viewers saw was what looked like a flash bang going off in front of the face cam, two suddenly empty chairs, and the Switch not loading the game. Instead, the screen capture showed the console menu with an error box with Japanese text.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I want to share with the world my fan-design of Kyoka Suigetsu as well as my headcanons on her. Her whole character is a part of my AIchi fan-comic in progress. But can be seen without Aizen x Ichigo context, I think. Spoilers for whole Bleach manga ahead!! Also, I am sorry for possible mistakes in text since I did not sleep or eat for a while and may be a little dizzy. I hope LanguageTool will help with most of 'em. I tag this as fan char since Kyoka basically has no canon character outside of having a name

Her true appearance is basically fem!Aizen, since, uh, well, he doesn't really listen to her any way, if she didn't have the face of "the smartest man in the room" (Aizen's opinion) He probably wouldn't even bother to hear her at all... I know a lot of people like to imagine Kyoka as a nonbinary being who has no true form, but I intended to make a lot of parallels with Ichigo and Zangetsus, so she has both a true form and is a female spirit. "Familiar face, unfamiliar personality" thing.

Zangetsus mainly care only about Ichigo, for he lacks any self-care whatsoever. Aizen on the other side has enough of every self-centered feelings imaginable, so Kyoka is his humanity, imprisoned in his own illusions. Aizen claims he left clues for his real personality, but no one bothered to know him. Kyoka argues Aizen is the one who closed both himself and her in the prison of loneliness - "Those feelings that you choose to never express are as well may be considered not real for the world outside. Nonexistent"

Second layer of Aizen's inner world - the black part of the pond is a symbol of not his emotions, feelings, personality but of all those as a concept - every person is a pitch black mystery. Aizen pretends he perfectly understands what other people feel and how they will behave, and the fact he is usually has right predictions doesn't help, just as other people pretend they know just what is going on in his mind. Until Aizen admits that, the second layer of his inner world is just a floor to him. It's a solid surface he comfortably stands on, but he can not see what's underneath.

The reflection of the moon, tho it wasn't present for his whole life, actually should've always been there. The absence of the moon is basically an equivalent of Ichigo's inner world being permanently filled with water. Because of the moon appearing after the fight for Karakura town, Kyoka calls it "reflection of Zangetsu" (I guess it's not an uncommon knowledge that Aizen and Ichigo have same moon kanji in their zanpakuto names). Aizen had no clue about moon appearance for a few decades, if not centuries, since he literally never visits his inner world, and Kyoka usually ignores him back. Kyoka and Aizen are still having similar personality at it's core, but Kyoka is closer to someone between post TYBW Aizen and persona of Captain Aizen. She sympathizes with Ichigo but thinks that Aizen should leave the poor man be.

To sum it up, I give you messages from my and my co-autor's direct:

LanguageTool doesn't completely suck. It has AI features, but they're easy to ignore and disable, and afaik it doesn't feed your writing to a training database anywhere.

(I'm gonna go check on that second one)

Thanks to intrusive AI implementations turning most grammar products into a festering bucket of inaccurate shit being used to steal our work and feed the yawning maw of technological enshitification under corporate greed, I've pretty much disabled all of my editing software and am just raw-dogging the writing experience like it's 2012.

But sometimes, even the native Word editor makes a suggestion that's so fucking dumb I have to pause and pinch my nose and ask, "Baby doll, are you fucking high?" as I mark the suggestion as wrong.

What I had written: He tipped his head back, baring his throat to those sharp, gleaming teeth.

Word's suggestion: He bore his throat.

That's it. That's the suggestion for "clarity and conciseness." Just remove three-quarters of the sentence and use the completely wrong word for the implied action.

I miss Clippy.

Yesterday I finished moving to Firefox so here's some extensions. First, the serious ones:

AdBlocker Ultimate: Your run-of-the-mill adblock. I chose this one instead of uBlock since I'm fairly sure uBlock was giving me problems on Chrome and I don't wanna repeat the experience. You can use the "Block Element" feature to get rid of all the new annoying Tumblr features, it's easy.

ClearURLS: Removes tracking from URLs.

Decentraleyes: Protects from tracking & targeted ads.

DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials: More tracking, cookies, etc etc protection.

Privacy Badger: More tracking protection.

Shinigami Eyes: Marks transphobic blogs/accounts/profiles red.

Alright now some less serious, more fun ones:

Enhancer For Youtube: Gives you a highly customizable utility bar with features like simple screenshotting, pop-up players, volume enhancement, & other things. Also has the ability to alter your YouTube theme and toggle settings that'll stop pesky YouTube tabs from automatically starting.

Firefox Color: Custom themes for dummies! It doesn't customize everything but it gets pretty close. I think this would be a good tool for folks who need high contrast themes and can't find pre-made ones suited to their needs. Also comes with a few pre-made themes you can either use or use as bases.

LanguageTool: A spelling and grammar checking program that works in many languages and on all websites!

OneTab: Turns tabs into lists. Fantastic for when you're knee-deep in hyperfixation/special interest territory, or even for research.

Turbo Download Manager: Helps with frustrating downloads.

Video DownloadHelper: Gives you options to download any video from your tabs in multiple formats. Also has the option to download and convert to another format. [Update: This one requires a paid subscription AND externally downloaded program for these features. Nevermind.]

Also, Firefox has their own page of useful add-ons, like Facebook containers and note-taking extensions. There's also a ton of themes. I don't think any of these are advertised on the main add-ons page? So I might as well mention it.

FNAF Bible theory. In light of recent Dave theory. It's just from my surface knowledge of the bible (but I am from a christian home, I know a lot) and few wikipedia findings.

Scott is very well known for being a religious person. That's nothing new. And this theory will conclude with statement that ,,FNAF is just a retelling of the bible,, at least part of it. There will not be Jesus in this one. The closest one will be his cousin John.

Pls. Mind that english is not my first lauguage. Im good at using it, but I keep missing word. And i keep using languagetool. And few time I use term ,,standin for,, I'm not sure im using correct term. But hope you understand. So let's start with what we got now:

David - King of Israel, Battle with Goliath

Michael - Guardian of Israel, Battle with Satan

Elizabeth - Known for being a mother and having a baby (stick with me)

And few important names: Gabriel and Henry

When the name David came out lately, when Hyper Droid was talking about CC real name. It struck me. David in the bible is best known for battling the Goliath, and Slaying him, becoming King after that. And in the World of FNAF, CC also battled the Goliath, but this time Lost. Goliath being stand in for Fredbear, you know Giant Robot. We can argue that even if CC lost the rest still happened, Goliath was slain - Fredbear was never used again, and he kinda became the King - CC is probably the most important spirit in FNAF, and Golden Fredy is the Leader of Animatronics, Golden like a Kings Crown - And stay golden even after all the years, when Golden Bonnie faded, but that's later. Golden Freddy leads the Spirits even if it's not David (CC) it's Cassidy, but Cassidy is probably not a biblical name, but there might be something to it if we dig deeper.

Michael - The Archangel. The One that cast Satan out of Heaven. Yes Satan being stand in for William. ("...he does battle with Satan and casts him out of heaven so that he no longer has access to God as accuser" - Wikipedia quote). And mentioning. When David is the King of Israel. Micheal is the Guardian (prince) of Israel (If we take methafor for Israel in FNAF as the place where every spirit lingers, sooo Freadys. Yeah Freddy's is Israel, The Bible one, not the moder country, it's sounds weird now, but let's deal with it.) Then, idk whats better way to describe Mike. After his brother's death, he goes and protects what his brother has become part of, to redeem himself, to give his brother and every soul Afton killed an afterlife. But this Flipped retelling of Bible. As David failed to Defeat Goliath. Michael failed to Protect Souls. But after tries and punishment, he banishes the evil from immortality. Except there are no happy endings in FNAF.

Elizabeth is more difficult than two brothers, but. I might have something. As the fact that FNAF is Flipped retelling of bible more struck me, where nothing goes as it should, but parallels are visible. It got me there. Naming FNAF characters after biblical figures must have some reason. At least minimal. Let's start with this, and it might sound more weird than the rest, so at least trigger warning here. The Big Elizabeth in story in bible start with her husband going to a Temple and being visited by Angel Gabriel. And is promised Elizabeth will bear a son - John the Baptist. Kinda like Mike going to Circus Baby Pizza. Yes I compared Circus Baby Pizza to the Temple of God. But as we know, everything must go wrong. It might be parallels that Elizabeth, instead of bearing the child, got crushed in the belly of a child (baby) looking robot. (And you know, I think Elizabeth in bible is only known for being a mother of more important figure, and naming fnaf character after bible character might be difficult, and SL is kinda a spin-off, I don't know what Stott was thinking, I just see parallels) But as we now know, even if figures failed to fulfill their job, everything else still needs to happen. Destiny needs to fulfill itself. And have you ever noticed that Scooper rips out your guts, from the belly. And as spoken before, something needs to be born. And as Elizabeth would bere the child, now she crawls into someone's belly, as Baby put her self together. In flipped reflection of destiny. Michael goes to a temple, and is promised a Baby, it happened but in crocked refection, Elizabeth is born from her own Brother. But it's not Elizabeth that is the most important that day, because at the same moment, Michael is born again as the Baptist. To cleanse evil in the Baptism of Fire. And as weird as it gets, Mike being also the stand in for John the Baptist resonates well with me.

And that not the end, but I wanted to leave that on the end, because now we will talk about remnant, and remnants are still controversial in FNAF fandom. And I didn't want to taint my Elizabeth part with it. But You can add this to Elizabeth part, and it will only add more to the theory. Trust me. In the Bible when Elizabeth's husband visited the temple, angel said, and I quote "...and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born." Mention of being Filled with the Holy Spirit is something that just struck me the most. And I feared that it made sense. As we go further in FNAF games, (technically first ever mention of Remnant is in FNAF 6, but it's calling back to the Scooper) First ever usage of Remnant comes from FNAF SL. When Mike is being Filled with Remnant by the Scooper. As Biblical Child of Elizabeth was Filled with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit in bible is reserved for very special things. And if we going with naming FNAF characters after biblical names. Usage of Holy Spirit in the most important story connected to name Elizabeth and the Child she bore. As Scooper standin for filling someone with Remnant - Michael goes to a Temple of The False God that created the Baby and is Filled with The Remnants of Spirits. God!

Did I mention that It's not the end yet. It's not that big, but I want to point out what I see as interesting findings. And maybe we can do something more with this. I never readed bible, I just had religion in school, and I was kinda interested in that when I was younger. But I have really good memory, and this all just started coming to me.

When researching Michael, the name Gabriel keep coming out, It was interesting (like ohhh Scott, you know what you were doing) later when the name Gabriel came up in The Story of Elizabeth. There must be something more. First it was, did Scott name missing children after Archangels - No. But using just one name is enough. And as we all agree, Gabriel, being a child possessing Freddy. Scott used the name Gabriel on the first gravestone. Freddy the face of basic animatronics. Scott could name every kid after (as I found) - 7 archangels, but that would be too obvious, but he named only one, the first, the one we all agree is Freddy. Scott could give him a normal name, but he needed to name at least one after biblical name. And it's Gabriel. I have a weird feeling that, as Scott is a religious person, he just jumped on Wikipedia just like me, and found that Michael and Gabriel are very connected with each other. The fact that the name Gabriel comes out in 2 most important names in FNAF that also are standin for biblical characters. To this moment we got 2/3 names, but Mike and Elizabeth are kinda normal names, so we didn't care, but Now there are 3, we got David. All of William's children are named after biblical characters. With show how egotistical he is. But we got more; as we got Gabriel, it's now 4/3.

My smalled finding is that old version the name Henry is Harold. And it get me to Herod, the Guy that Order to Kill Children when Jesus was about to Born. But It sound more like William, You Know the Guy that KILL CHILDREN.

And Afton. The Guy Himself. Standin for Satan, Devil, Mephisto. The one cast out and banished from heaven. As Golden Freddy faded but stayed golden. Golden Bonny rotten, darken, faded to pitch green. Should be punished in hell, as destiny called for that. But not everything happened as it should. William is still punished, but what Cassidy the Vengeful Spirit done. Will it let go. Old Man Consequences is God Himself. The End (The last is just my own little head canon)

I went. Kinda insane at the end of this. But pls dont toss it out as a wird therory. Ther is a lot to this that make sense. And fell free to add more to this, if you can find more, or know more. My knowlege isnt that full. Retelings of the bible are very common. And no one ever get that angry when you use bibilical stories as the inspiraton. A lot of stories if you dig not even that deep, can be traced down to bibilacal stories. As its collection of very basic moral stories - Of good fighting evil. Describe your writing process from idea to posting/publishing?

I have a notes app called EasyNotes where I jot down all my ideas as I get them; bits of dialogue I think would work in a fic, interactions between characters (which always come to me just as I'm about to drift off to sleep) and very, very rough outlines of chapters.

Then, I'll word vomit onto a doc and copy in any notes I had.

Because I'm better at dialogue than describing the scene, I'll write out all of that first and then work from there to flesh it out. Like starting with the skeleton.

Once I have the first draft done, I start my editing process. I go paragraph by paragraph correcting spelling and grammar (I have a Chrome extension called LanguageTool), and then I play the whole chapter through another Chrome extension called Read Aloud. Because of my ADHD, it can be difficult to catch all my errors by reading alone, so hearing it out loud helps A LOT! Would recommend it. (Although the voices used are hilarious. Hearing your smut scene's read out by a monotone robot is slightly traumatising 😂)

Once I'm happy with a paragraph, I will add HTML coding to it - the <p> tag. In my head, it's just the easiest way to mark that a paragraph is complete. If I'm still not sure about a sentence or paragraph, I will mark it in red to rework. I also add all my <i> tags as I'm writing, so I don't forget about them later!

I realise I'm doing too much! But, I quite enjoy the editing process.

Once I get a chapter or One Shot uploaded, I try my best not to read it again so I'm not continuously making little changes.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

I want to be a plotter SO BAD! I've got Excel sheets, multiple docs with outlines, plot points, and a solid plan. And then boom! The characters run off like a crazed toddler in the opposite direction, and all I can do is follow. So… I guess I'm a pantser!

What do you listen to when you are writing?

I have multiple Spotify playlists depending on the mood of the fic/chapter I'm writing. If I need to write emotional scenes, I'll put on some heartbreaking Emo songs from 2006! Or, if my energy drops while writing, I'll switch to 90s pop. Generally, though, I just listen to instrumental music. One of my fav playlists is this one.

What’s your drink of choice (while writing)?

Water. I am booooooring. It is sparkling, though!

Promote yourself! What’s your favourite thing you’ve written?

I think it's Hot Girl Summer. This was supposed to be a little funny, 5-10 chapter fic that wasn't serious. And it has spiralled into a multi POV, 40-chapter story with so much plot! I'm loving the process, though. And I think I will definitely have to get it bound when it's all done.

Share a fic of yours that you think is underrated/deserves more love.

I'm going to say Hot Girl Summer too. I think a lot of people aren't as interested in stories that follow both Gwynriel and Elucien (and sometimes E/riel or another pairing with their favourite characters) at the same time. I haven't seen many fics that do it, but they’re some of my favourites in the fandom, and I’m so happy to add to that list. If you're hesitant, I highly recommend giving them a try!

Do you have any advice for new writers?

First of all, just do it! It took me 33 years to build the confidence to try. For most of my life, I didn't think I was good enough to write, even though I had so many stories to tell. In my 20s, I probably wouldn’t have had the confidence to take the plunge. Writing opens you up to criticism (which I hate!), but I’m forever grateful that 99.9% of my readers have only ever been incredibly supportive and encouraging.

Don’t be afraid to use tools that help you. I know my limitations with ADHD, so I created a process that works for me. Everyone has a different method, and the right one is whatever works for you.

Finally, finding a community of like-minded people makes the whole process a lot more fun. I love helping others develop fic ideas or beta-reading for them, and appreciate all the support they give me. It really motivates me to keep writing.

What is a writing style/technique that others do really well that you'd like to get better at?

Flow and angst! I'm really working on improving these areas in my writing. I'm quite impatient and tend to rush through the plot rather than building up tension. I know I need to slow down and let the story breathe, but it's so hard! I just want my characters to kiss within the first 5 seconds 😂

Gods, I love torturing this man! I've redeemed him so much in my fic that I'll be heartbroken if he truly turns out to be just a dickhead in the canon ACOTAR world!
