alright, taking bets on who is holding the flashlight at the end of Ep8
I've got my money on two candidates:
either the one person who was in the Biddle house that we haven't heard from, and who was sold as a villain from the start.
or the one person who willingly walked into the Biddle house but whose plans got massively derailed by Harold's sudden appearance.
it's either Allison, the ex-girlfriend, or Nathan Bratt himself.
If I'm wrong, then Disney needs new writers.
#Goosebumps 2023#Goosebumps#Episode 8 jumped off the cliff with Slappy in my opinion#I didn't find the apology scene touching or heartfelt#I don't believe Harold would give up a 30-year grudge like that#I think if he had the parents there he would absolutely rage#I think Harold deserved a more satisfying conclusion than that#Y'all he was straight up killed#We went from petty larceny to manslaughter to borderline 3rd degree homicide#If anyone ever murders me I ain't giving up that easy#But also Slappy didn't even really try to keep Harold in the game#There was no victimizing no blaming no shaming no ingratiating#Slappy just kind of let himself get punted#Which implies he's got bigger plans and Harold is not in them#Allison would be a great person to bring back around#But having Nathan Bratt actually be our real villain all along#Now THAT would be a really great plot twist#And it would also make sense why Bratt (not Harold) is featured so prominently on the poster#Because Bratt is wearing the glasses in the poster#Looking forward to having Disney prove me wrong

So what I loved about the conflict between the dads in s1 and how it sets up the stakes is that they believe the same thing but have opposing beliefs/attitudes about it, and that neither of them are wrong. Actually the narrative validates both of their views.
With Silco it’s more obvious, they need to resist, Piltover won’t just change its mind, nothing will get better by itself etc etc. however the narrative also proves Vander right. His stance was that the price for ‘progress’ is too high, that the base violence necessary for change is too much, and he’s right.
“Who are you willing to lose? Powder?” cut to Silco running up to Jinx on the bridge. And then follow it up with the independence deal. And then Silco’s is at Vander’s statue moping about how he understands him now.
However Vander’s attitude of borderline complete pacifism fails to protect the Lanes and his kids from enforcers and inside threats like Silco. And Silco’s quest for independence would have cost him a price that is too high for him to pay. Vander thought he could keep the peace by just ignoring Piltover and he was wrong and Silco thought that he could pull this off cos he’d do anything for independence and he was also wrong, even he had a limit, one he just didn’t realize before. Neither of them had the answer and it lead to their demise.
I was really looking forward to how they’d follow this up 😅😅😅
That’s why the idea of stuff being easily solved in the au rings so hollow to me. Silco giving up is just ooc but s1 also rejects the idea that things would have just worked out. In s1 there were steep prices for characters to pay for making the wrong choices and sometimes there were only wrong choices to choose from. In that way s2 feels like smth made for Disney channel. Same with the idea that Vander got radicalized. While more plausible if Vi died and maybe the other kids were in danger why do this time around things just magically work out? Where’s the ‘give me Jinx and I’ll give you your independent nation of Zaun’ moment? It’s so cheap to go back on what they established in s1 about how this world/narrative worked, that Vander was right, the price IS way too high to pay.
I’m honestly not even sure what happened with PnZ in the au or in the main timeline but whatever it was it feels like a cop-out. I’d think that in the au Vander chose to join Silco but in the main timeline they talk about ‘letting go and walking away from the cycle of violence’ so essentially just like Vander in s1a1, right? Even tho s1 proved Vander wrong??
That’s why I liked s1 and would say it was good cos it was complicated in such ways, there were no easy answers. what they’re doing feels so reductive compared to what was established about this narrative in s1 and I’m not sure if even the writers know what message they’re trying to convey.

I'm about a third of the way through Disney's Wish right now (watching on a different site as part of my patriotic duty) after constant bombardment of how terrible it is from the ground up.
And it's... lovely so far?
Setting aside any expectations regarding Disney or the musical format of the Disney Renaissance. The sheer diversity in character designs so far is a breath of fresh air. (Is one of the side characters a little person? Not as comic relief?!) They spoke Hebrew and (I believe) Arabic in the first few minutes! The art direction is incredible, using this mix of now-common 3D design with gorgeous painted backdrops. And god, the fashion. The textiles all look so cool.
Having the much-maligned "twist villain reveal" happen at the beginning of the story, as the main character's motivation going forward, is also a great driver of the story so far.
I know a lot of criticism has been leveled at the music for being too pop-like, so I'm not expecting a classic villain song or anything. I had the impression that the music was unlistenable or didn't correlate to the story at all. But it seems like the genre of music may be intentional for story beats? The first song about the wishes was a love song, a duet with both speakers talking to the object of their love. But it also showed a contrast between the ruler (who loves the wishes as objects) and the main character (who loves the wishes due to the people they represent), building the upcoming conflict really well.
I'm not saying I'll love it forever or it's an instant classic, but sometimes a movie can just be good. I'm hoping that's how it is going forward, but even if the very next scene is fingers-on-chalkboard for a full hour, then this first half hour has been really beautiful.
I'm putting this in the tag in the hopes of someone else telling me I'm not crazy for thinking this?
No concrit to prove me wrong please. I don't want to engage with that rn.

Yumetober Day 22: Risk
Feat. Rollo Flamme x Hayley Adams (Disney: Twisted Wonderland)
Rollo observed Hayley on the school grounds of Noble Bell College with a scowl on his face. Two of his school's students were with her. One of them happened to be his very own vice president!
Allowing his girlfriend to mingle with the other students wasn't a problem in and of itself. But if magic—loathsome magic—was to be involved, that would be a different case.
"P-President!"
Hayley glanced towards the direction the startled student was looking. She found Rollo, his eyes fixed in a glare. Whether it was for her or the two students behind her, she could only guess.
"I believe we've talked about your involvement with mages, Hayley," Rollo said, his voice low and borderline threatening. "You are allowed to be in close proximity with them on the sole condition they are not actively wielding magic."
"It's only a harmless spell. I wasn't injured in any way," Hayley insisted.
"You may not be today, but soon you will be." Rollo took steps forward. "Come. You must return inside at once."
Just as his hand was about to grab hold of her wrist, Hayley took a step back. The girl has a natural defiant side, but it never failed to catch Rollo off guard every time it shows.
He would've admired the fire in her eyes, but there were times it served to strike a nerve. Anger flashed in his eyes for a split second before his face smoothed over to his usual stoic expression.
"Hayley, I merely wish to keep you safe and protected." He sighed in defeat. "Please. I can't risk losing you, too."
Hayley walked the hallways of the campus, Rollo alongside her. The trip was painfully and awkwardly quiet.
"I'm sorry."
Rollo glanced down—Hayley is only the level of his shoulders. "For what reason?" he asked.
"For asking them to perform magic spells for me." Her tone seemed unapologetic, but Rollo dismissed it all the same.
"You don't have anything to apologize for. It's a risk I'm trying to will myself to take," he said, but Hayley only said, "I don't understand."
Rollo remained silent for quite some time. It frightened him, but he knows he had to at least try. For Hayley. And for him to come into terms with his cruel past.
"I want to believe that you can prove me wrong," he said. "That magic can indeed be safe."

My Top 10 Anticipated Superhero Projects for 2025
After a year with very few projects from both Marvel & DC Comics, 2025 is set to be an action packed year full of some of the weirdest and most fun Superhero projects we've seen in awhile.
Don't get me wrong, I loved The Penguin & Agatha All Along, but both felt like nice surprises as opposed to projects I was looking forward to.
With DC in a rebuilding phase, and Marvel in a retooling phase, I'm eager to see who will come out on top at the end of the year. While Marvel has way more projects, DC has a few that can easily be among the best, if not THEE best of 2025.
Here are my Top 10 projects to look forward to in 2025.
10. Wonder Man
Yayha Abdul Mateen II returns for his third major comic book role in the upcoming Disney+ series, Wonder Man.
Simon Williams is entering the MCU in a big way, that seems to be leaning into the more acting part of his character. Very little is known about this project besides Ben Kingsley will be returning as Trevor Slattery and "Wonder Man" is a role within the universe.
Wonder Man is a superman like character, who is typically an Avenger and more often than not is a B-list actor in universe. This gives Marvel a lot of room for some Hollywood fun and to take some liberties with the character.
I'm a big fan of Wonder Man, Yayha, and it seems like a big swing for Marvel. If it's anything like WandaVision or Agatha All Along, I will be watching.
9. Marvel Zombies
A spin-off of Marvel's What If, Marvel Zombies is set to bring back some of my favorite MCU characters, including Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, and even our first look at Blade.
First look images even include a look at Zombie Ikaris, Abomination, and Dora Milage.
What If episodes have been a little hit or miss for me, but even so I'm still excited for this miniseries.
I'm not sure what to expect from this show yet, but if it is anything like the comics from Robert Kirkman, I am pumped and ready.
8. Gen V - Season 2
While it is yet to compare to it's original, The Boys spin-off Gen-V has set up quite a few storylines and proved it's a show worth watching and standing on it's own.
Set in a college for Supes, several students have to uncover a mystery at the heart of Godolkin University and discover what it means to be a hero.
With interesting characters, powers and just enough connections to The Boys, it's a show worth watching that many more people need to checkout. With that cliff hanger, the ending of Season 4 of The Boys, and unfortunate passing of Chance Perdomo, I'm interested in seeing how they move the story forward.
7. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
It's about time we got another Spider-Man animated show huh?
In a universe where Peter is mentored by Norman Osborn, Peter Parker must become Spider-Man in this homage to 60s comics, and take on a myriad of his classic villains, with heroes like Nico Minoru, Daredevil & Doctor Strange.
I'm a huge fan of Spider-Man and all the animated Marvel projects on Disney+ so far. While I am patiently waiting for a trailer, I am very optimistic for this.
In a less stacked year this would be higher on the list, but until we get a look it can't break the top 5.
6. Thunderbolts*
The first major film on my list, Thunderbolts feels like Captain America: Winter Soldier meets The Avengers, both films I love.
After several of the antiheroes of the MCU get framed by an unknown entity, they must team up to find what they are missing and become the Thunderbolts.
This is one of the few MCU teams up that have been built up over different projects, so I'm hoping this is a satisfying conclusion and good set up for Avengers: Doomsday.
While I wish the team was different, the cast looks great and the direction looks very fun. And with The Void as most likely the main bad guy, we are likely gonna get a very emotional ending.
Here's hoping it is a winner.
5. Peacemaker Season 2
Even though the DCU starts this year with Creature Commandos, the live action starts with a certain film and Peacemaker.
Peacemaker season 1 revolves around a team of agents looking to stop a mysterious alien invasion and save the world.
With the show now taking place in a connected universe, and Rick Flag Sr out for revenge, we're up for some excellent television.
The first season was some of the best of James Gunn's genius, and with the budget and the stakes rising, I'm excited to see the performance John Cena brings to this one.
4. Fantastic Four: First Steps
I didn't put it fourth on purpose, I swear.
After decades of waiting, we are finally getting a proper Fantastic Four film.
Little is known about this film, but with Galactus as the main villain, and retro futuristic 60s vibe, this film feels like a huge distinct swing, and nothing get's me more excited than that.
The cast looks phenomenal, the costumes look perfect, and I am just giddy thinking of them joining the Avengers in the next Avengers film.
3. Superman
My most anticipated film of next year, James Gunn will be taking on the Man of Steel himself Superman in 2026.
With an incredible cast, director, and several ties to the Justice League, Authority, and hopefully more, this film is crucial in setting the tone for the DCU moving forward, and maybe superhero films in general.
Whether this is a success or failure, this will be a turning point.
2. Daredevil Born Again
My boy has returned.
A sequel to Daredevil, Daredevil Born Again finds Matt Murdock back in NY city, with new enemies and old looking to take over Hell's Kitchen.
Daredevil is one of my favorite television series, and with so many characters returning from the original, including Kingpin, Punisher, Bullseye, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, this season is going to be explosive.
I'm hoping it has direct connections to Echo, Moon Knight, and other street level heroes, perhaps leading up to another crack at Defenders. Whatever the case, this could be the best show of the year. And it would be my number 1, if it wasn't for...
1. Invincible Season 3
He's in for the fight of his life.
With the stakes higher than ever, an incredible voice cast, animation to beat and a performance unlike any other from Steven Yeun, Invincible has continued to surprise and top itself.
After Mark Grayson gains his Viltrumite powers, he must become Invincible, and find out the ups and the massive downs of being the worlds most powerful hero.
With _______ coming for a huge one on one, a massive war on the rise, and massive repercussions from the finale, this season is all I can think of for next year.
And thank god there will be no massive breaks in-between the season.
Thank you for reading! If you like this, be sure to follow me on all my socials here! And let me know what you think: What is your most anticipated superhero project of 2025?

So here it is my Top 10 list of what I consider to be the best Songs released in the Year 2023
1. bad idea right?
This song just rocks. It’s got a real 90s alt feel catchy chorus and it’s just a great song overall.
Olivia Rodrigo once again proves she has staying power in the music industry with her latest album and this particular song.
2. Houdini and 3. Dance the Night away
Dua Lipa takes the next two spots I was absolutely obsessed with her last album and it’s disco type feel and on her next record she seems to be continuing that trend and building on it which I’m really looking forward too.
Dance the Night away should be nominated for an Oscar for best song after Disneys outputting was very weak this year and if your gonna nominate a song for Best Song you can’t go wrong by including two tracks from the Barbie Album which is coincidentally the next song on my list.
4. What Was I made for.
I’ve heard so many movie themes this year and this by far is the best one.
Billy Eilish once again I think has a shoe in for best song at the Oscar’s after already winning one already.
This song is just relaxing fits in with the movies theme perfectly and just has a good message overall about finding purpose in life when you have lost your purpose.
5.All By Myself and 6.Easy Lover
Ellie Goulding had a new album come out this year but you wouldn’t know it considering it didn’t chart none of the singles hit the top ten.
Sadly it was the year of bro country and her new album was overlooked but it’s just as good as her others and the Songs All by Myself which samples Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode in a great way and the Dance Track Easy Lover should have charted but they didn’t and that’s partly why I’m also putting them on my list they are not just my some of my favorites but deserve a wider listening audience as well.
7. This is Why
After almost 20 years Paramore is still making excellent music. There last album was fantastic and this builds on that Alt feel the last record had. It has a great bass line it’s just a good groove filled song.
8.High in Brighton
Fizz is an indie pop super group consisting of Dodie, Orla Gartland, Greta Issac, and Martin Luke Brown. Allmake great music on their own but together they weave infectiously delightful indie pop that is just amazing to listen too.
I first discovered them by coming across High in Brighton on YouTube and being a fan of of some of the members solo work decided to give it a listen and it was amazing gave me real Queen Night at the Opera Vibes with all the different musical styles and instruments
9. HOT TO GO!
Once again another song I discovered on YouTube and made me an instant fan of Chappel Roan she has some great songs from her newest album but HOT To Go! Is the most catchy and singable
10. Welcome to my Island
A song and Artist I discovered listening to New York City Public Radio. Caroline Polchek has excellent vocal range and Welcome to my Island is just one of three new songs of hers I absolutely adored this year from her new album. This one is the most catchy though even though I really enjoy her other song Sunset.
So that’s my list
Hope you enjoyed my first writing post and the songs I chose. There were so many good songs just this year alone but those are the ones I spent the most time listening to. SZA, Ice Spice, and other artists had amazing songs as well so check them out.

list #3: ❛ i can’t lose you , too. ❜
this gives me matt vibes but also maybe peter vibes
your choice lol
Matt because Matt is the king of pain
Also the way this is a whole ass fic? Idk bc I liked the prompt hehe.
————
“Where is she?” Matt asks as he runs into the hospital. Foggy and Karen stand up from the lobby, rushing over to Matt who is running to every patient room to try and find you.
“Matt,” Foggy says. “I-I can’t find her,” Matt stammers, feeling dizzy. “It’s okay, Matt. She’s upstairs resting,” Karen assures him. They take Matt to you. You’re sitting in the hospital bed with your leg in a cast. But you don’t look bothered at all. In fact, you’re watching one of your favorite Disney movies while eating an ice cream sundae. You smile as you see your friends and boyfriend walk in. “Hey! I was wondering when you guys would come back!”
Karen and Foggy wave to you, while Matt tries to figure out what’s wrong with your body. “Matty,” you say, sitting up in bed. “I have a broken leg and bruised ribs, but nothing the doctor’s said can’t fix,” you say with a happy smile. Then Matt starts crying. Foggy and Karen move to comfort him, but you give them a smile and a nod, telling them that you have this handled. They leave you two alone. You reach out for Matt’s hand, pulling him closer to your bed. He sits down next to your leg. “Baby, I’m okay,” you say. He shakes his head. “N-No, you’re not. You won’t be able to walk. Which means you won’t be able to run your restaurant. And-and I don’t even know what a bruised rib means for you.”
“Baby, it’s not as bad as you think. I just can’t lift heavy things, I have to make sure I don’t bump it. No strenuous activity. Which means no sex for a while, especially with my leg. But hey, hopefully I heal fast,” you say with a grin.
Matt shakes his head, not being able to laugh. He admires your optimism. He wishes he had that, but he can’t shake the fact that he almost lost you. You’re the most important person to him. You’re the one who keeps him grounded, the one who cares and loves him no matter if he’s having a hard day or a good day. You’ve stuck by him for many years, and the thought of losing you makes him sick. He can’t believe he got close to that today.
You slip your hand into his, bringing it up to your lips to kiss his knuckles. “Matt, stop thinking whatever you are thinking and listen to me. I know what happened was scary, but I am okay. I’m really lucky I didn’t get injured worse. I know this sucks, and trust me, I’m not happy about this either, but it’s just what it is. But the important thing is is that I’m alive. I’m breathing, and honestly, I don’t feel too bad. This bruised rib will heal quickly, and the leg will take some time, but I’ll get there.”
“I know, but I —”
“Nu-uh. Do not blame yourself,” you shake your head. “You’re not allowed to.”
Matt sighs and nods, taking his glasses off to wipe his eyes. “I know you’re okay. I-I know you’re going to be okay, but I almost lost you. This just proves that you’re in danger with being with me. I have a lot of enemies and one of them almost killed you today. I… I can’t lose you, Y/n. I’ve already lost so many, I can’t lose you, too.”
You lean over and kiss him sweetly. He leans forward so you can lean back in bed, reaching his hand up to cradle the back of your head. Your hand squeezes his as you pull away. You look into his eyes, cupping his cheek. “I’m sorry to say, Matt, but you are stuck with me. I don’t care you have enemies. I don’t care if they’re after me, too. What I do care about is helping you and sticking by your side. I know it can be scary. I’m scared, honestly, but it isn’t enough for me to break up with you. We are going to get through this together. And once I feel a little better, I can help you on your little missions again.”
Matt chuckles a little bit and you smile. He’s feeling a bit better. “You in that black suit is really tempting, but I don’t want you out with me again.” You groan, “c’mon! That’s so boring!” “I know it is for you, but… please? For me? I won’t be able to think straight if I’m worried about you,” he says. “You’re always worried about me, Matt,” you chuckle. He shrugs, “well, I think you’ll be safer at home than out with me.” “Alright,” you nod. “Then I’ll stay at home but you have to wear an earpiece so I can talk to you.”
He nods, “deal.” You smile and kiss him again, pulling away and resting your forehead onto his. “I love you, Matt. You’re the best.” He shakes his head. “No, you are. You really have no idea.”

UGH I am furious. This interview with Mike Waldron, head writer of the Loki show, confirms all of my worst fears based on the trailer. (x)
My pitch for the show was kind of a big, crazy, fun time adventure,” says head writer Michael Waldron. “The TVA is just an entirely new world [with] a new cast of characters, and that’s what felt most exciting about the show: building a new corner of the MCU.”
Look at this! Not a word about Loki or his character or being excited to delve into his nuance or depth or feeling honored to write for him. Nope. What Waldron focuses on is how excited he is to introduce the TVA to the MCU. Once again we have someone in charge of Loki’s character who’s more interested in other characters and feels the need to knock Loki down in order to build other characters up instead of letting them all stand on their own strengths.
I mean really? The exciting thing about the LOKI show is the TVA and the new characters? Not Loki? He doesn’t even get mentioned at all??! It’s exactly what I was afraid of based on the other promotional material. The trailers felt like they were focusing on Mobius and the TVA as the protagonists and villain coding Loki in his own series. The trailers also focus constantly on mocking and denigrating Loki and seem to take no interest in his character and have stripped him of his trademark wit and poise and turned him into the butt of every joke.
The trailer is framed from Mobius’s perspective rather than Loki's and ironically, given the cringe inducingly bad “talky talky” exchange, he gets more lines than Loki does. And it hardly feels like Loki is even in the trailers even when he's technically on screen because he is written and framed with such little care that he doesn’t even feel like the same character. Even the posters are brown for the TVA not green for Loki. It felt like they were using Loki as a side character to get people to watch the TVA show.
I hoped I was wrong. But the head writer himself has seemingly confirmed it. He isn’t excited about or interested in Loki’s character. He was excited about his own creations - an adaption of the TVA and the new characters that work there. That’s where his passion lies and where the focus of the show is. And based on the trailers, in order to make those characters seem cooler he’s seemingly trying to have them constantly get one over on Loki because he can’t write well enough to just actually make them good characters in their own right.
His pitch for the show was nothing Loki specific and he doesn’t care about Loki’s character. I should’ve known from the fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to get his hair length right even though it’s picking up right where Avengers left off and they literally could’ve just googled a screen shot to match it to.
Well. I certainly hope to be proven wrong but I’m really disappointed. This quote just confirms all my concerns based on the trailers and other promotional materials. I’m so tired of the MCU disappointing me. They promised a show about Avengers/TDW Loki. That’s all I wanted. Instead they’re giving us some generic unfunny garbage instead. At that point just make a TVA show and give Loki his own show.
I’m so sad. I really hope I get proven wrong but it’s looking increasingly unlikely and if it turns out like this - and there’s every indication it will at this point (please Disney, prove me wrong!) - I will never trust Disney or the MCU again. I will be done with them as a company forever. I will engage in the fandom and that is it. Thank god for the Venom trailer so at least I have something to look forward to.

I don’t know if you take requests for nurseydex fics... but if you do the song “omg did she call him baby” by Beth McCarthy screams a heartbroken Nursey when Dex has a girlfriend
i like really can’t do genuine heartbreak but i CAN do angst that ends happy, so here’s my best shot :)
Nursey’s got a red Solo cup in one hand and a plastic champagne flute in the other and it’s sometime after three but before five and he is definitely not thinking about her or him or them together when he looks up between one sip and another to see the telltale blue hair reflecting the murky spotlights of the basement.
Nursey squints. He could be making things up--his brain is nice like that-- but he doesn’t think he’s imagining things. She’s got very distinctive hair, Dex’s--girlfriend. It’d been rather disappointing, actually, the blue hair. The whole thing had been easier to deal with when he’d been picturing some light-haired brunette going for an economics degree who smiled like a mom at soccer practice. Someone who Nursey could reasonably dislike on grounds of, like, predictability.
But no, Dex had to bring home a blue-haired physics major with a nose ring and good taste in music and the ability to out-argue Shitty while polishing off Bitty’s pie, i.e. perfect. Even Lardo couldn’t pretend like she wasn’t awesome for Nursey’s sake. Even Nursey can’t pretend like Amanda isn’t awesome for his own sake. She’s just so--so--
Nursey squints.
So-- making out with some random girl in a blouse at a frat party.
What the fuck.
Nursey is about two margaritas and three years too deep to be dealing with the emotional ramifications of catching the girlfriend of his best friend (who he’s also kind of sort of possibly maybe totally in love with) macking on some consultant for Goldman Sachs or some shit in the basement of arguably one of the worst frats at Samwell. This one doesn’t even have good music, Nursey’s only here to get drunk without the possibility of Dex calling Nursey Patrol and helping Nursey up the stairs and saying nothing about the poetry Nursey spills or the way his hands linger.
(Fuck does Nursey hate Nursey Patrol, fuck does he hate how much he loves it.)
Nursey downs the rest of the champagne flute--which was probably mostly orange juice at this point anyway-- and hands the red Solo cup to a freshman gearing himself up to talk to a cute boy a few feet away and then Nursey gets the fuck out of dodge. He manages to get a better look at the corporate recruiter Amanda is cheating on Dex with (and really, if you’re going to cheat on Dex, you’re really going to pick a chick in a blouse that probably has opinions on the stock market???) and if he hadn’t been sure before, the distinctive tattoo on Amanda’s shoulder proves that it’s really her.
(“Tattoos? Tattoos? I have tattoos.” “I know you do, Nurse.” “They’re really nice tattoos.” “I know they are, Nurse.”)
Emerging from the basement and then the frat house itself is instantly sobering. The chill from winter hasn’t quite left the air at night and Nursey wraps his arms around himself and doesn’t think about how Dex chirped him about not wearing a coat before he’d left. The frat isn’t far away from the Haus, thank god, but it is slightly farther when he turns left instead of right and then has to a backtrack a bit, but he still gets back in under ten minutes and he can still feel his hands, so overall, a win.
Attempting to get into the Haus quietly is a lost cause, given its one thousand year old floor and the fact that a ladybug could fart in the kitchen and wake up the guys in the attic. Still, Nursey gives it the good college try, which is why he’s creeping ridiculously through the living room when the light turns on suddenly and he screams, much to the amusement of Dex, standing in the kitchen doorway.
“Fuck, dude, what the fuck.”
Dex just smirks in that horribly attractive way of his. “How was the Psi-U basement?”
Nursey thinks of blue hair, washed out in the lights, Amanda’s hand on that girl’s cheek, the way Dex smiles when he’s around her. “Fine,” Nursey says, swaying.
The amusement falters and Nursey wishes he could figure out a way to keep the smile on Dex’s face the way Amanda does. Dex takes a step closer. “Are you alright?”
Nursey shakes his head violently and takes a step back, a step farther away. This is the part where he says yes, yes of course Dexy-darling, I’m right as rain, what about you? This is the part where Dex rolls his eyes and loops his arm around Nursey’s waist, his warm side pressed into Nursey’s. The part where they go upstairs, where Nursey writes his best poetry that he’s too embarrassed to write down when he’s sober, where Dex tells him to sleep well and lingers outside the doorway long enough for Nursey’s breathing to slow and then the floor creaks and Nursey knows he’s gone and wishes he’d held on just a little bit longer--
“Nursey, what’s wrong?”
Nursey shakes his head again. He means to say nothing, he means to say, I’m going to bed, he means to-- “Amanda, she--”
The concern turns to alarm. Why can’t Nursey ever make it better? “Is she alright? Did you see her? Is she okay?”
Nursey shakes his head again. He can’t seem to stop doing that. “She’s fine, she--she--” He swallows, and it’s sticky, cloying, citrusy and sweet on the back of his tongue. “She--there was this girl, she-- Amanda, she--”
Dex won’t stop frowning, concern knitting his eyebrows together with three short wrinkles, and Nursey has wanted to smooth them out with his fingertips every time he sees them since sophomore year, and he shouldn’t be doing this, shouldn’t be telling Dex this while he’s drunk, shouldn’t be telling Dex this at all, but he’s Nursey’s friend first and Nursey has to believe he’d tell Dex regardless of the love thing, he must--
“She was kissing some girl. In the Psi-U basement.”
The wrinkles smooth out. The amusement returns. Nursey--he can’t make sense of it over the ringing in his ears. Why is Dex smiling? Did--did Nursey do that?
“Did she look like a lawyer?” he asks, and at Nursey’s confusion clarifies, “The girl Amanda was kissing. Did she look like a lawyer?” Nursey nods dumbly. Dex’s smile only grows. Nursey is so, so confused and also more in love than he’s ever been. “Finally. I just won fifty bucks.”
What the fuck. “What the fuck.”
Dex laughs--laughs. “The girl’s name is Tammy. She graduated last year and moved to Boston. Amanda’s been in love with her forever, and I bet her that she’d get with Tammy before I--” Flush appears high on Dex’s cheeks, the soft pink one that means embarrassment and Nursey imagines would taste like cherry pie against his lips.
Nursey is--still quite a bit drunk. He needs--clarification. “You--you bet your girlfriend that she would get with her friend at a frat party?”
Dex’s nose scrunches up in Nursey’s favorite way--the same way it does when he’s trying to write humanities essays, the reason Nursey always says yes when Dex asks for help. “Girlfriend? Did you think Amanda was my girlfriend?”
Nursey remembers the start, hearing about Amanda every other day, then every day, then it was, sorry I can’t come, I’m meeting Amanda at-- and then one day at Annie’s, a girl with blue hair and a sharp grin yelled Babe! from across the room and planted a kiss on Dex’s cheek, her hand lingering on his shoulder, sipping from his coffee cup, getting him to smile like that--
“Well, yeah.” Nursey’s head is spinning and, for the first time tonight, not from the gin. “Is she--is she not?”
“Oh God, no, she’s so fucking gay, dude.” Laughter twinkles in Dex’s eyes. Nursey is drunker than he’s been since freshmen year of high school when Shitty snuck in some of his dad’s hard liquor and the janitors found them on the roof singing Disney songs at the moon. Dex’s girlfriend is gay. Dex’s girlfriend isn’t his girlfriend. Dex is--is smiling at him like he smiles at his girlfriend who isn’t his girlfriend.
“Oh,” Nursey says, dazed, “chill.”
“Oh wow,” Dex grins, leaning into the doorframe, “I can’t believe you thought--and you thought telling me my girlfriend was cheating on me at 3am while shit-drunk was a good idea?”
Nursey says, “Hey, honesty is important, and I’m not--” He stops. He remembers something. He squints. “Wait. If you bet 50 bucks on Amanda getting with Tammy, who did Amanda bet you would get with?”
The cherry pie blush is back. Nursey takes an absent-minded step forward. The room feels so much lighter now that Dex’s girlfriend isn’t cheating on him. The distance between them feels so much sillier now that Dex doesn’t have a girlfriend.
“Ah, well.” Dex rubs at the back of his neck, all country bumpkin sheepish to ask his sweetheart to the dance, and--and--
“I’m the sweetheart,” Nursey realizes with the kind of crystal clarity only afforded by the most copious amounts of alcohol.
Dex’s eyebrows furrow, those sweet little wrinkles appearing between them, and Nursey takes two long strides forward and presses his thumb into them. Dex goes cross-eyed trying to watch, but moves his eyes to meet Nursey’s after a moment.
Nursey grins, likely a bit sloppy from the gin, but he can’t find it in himself to care at the moment. “I’m the sweetheart,” he repeats, beaming.
Dex tries to repress the smile at his lips. “You’re not a sweetheart.”
“Yes I am,” Nursey sings, listing forwards. “You like me.”
“You’re an asshole.” Dex’s smile grows. Nursey watches its progress and sways.
“They’re not mutually exclusive,” he says, tracking the pink lips as they spread, revealing teeth and--and tongue and--
“I hate that you can still say mutually exclusive when you’re this drunk.”
“I’m not that drunk.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhmm. See, I’ll prove it.”
“How do you plan on--”
If Dex’s mouth weren’t so preoccupied, he might say that the taste on Nursey’s tongue is a good indication that he is in fact fairly tipsy, but as it is--well. He’s got other things to do.
(Amanda asserts that they tied since it happened on the same night and only pays $25. Tammy throws in five more and a condom and they call it even. Nursey kisses away Dex’s protest and pockets the condom, much to Amanda’s amusement. Turns out, she’s even cooler when she isn’t dating the love of Nursey’s life.)

Maybe something to do with another coops live stream they’re hilarious😂
These livestreams are basically my favorite fics to write and I’m so glad you all enjoy them! Sweater Weather credit goes to @lumosinlove!
“Hey, Instagram, we’re back!” Sirius smiled so wide his dimples appeared as Remus sat down and wrapped an arm around his waist. “It’s been a while since we did a livestream and we’ve been looking forward to it for a while, so let’s get started.”
“First question,” Remus said, leaning forward a bit. “Who kills the spiders? I do.”
Sirius wrinkled his nose. “We tried to do a catch and release policy, but they always end up coming back. Who is the better dancer? I don’t know, honey, who is the better dancer?”
Remus rolled his eyes and gave him a playful nudge. “Rub it in, why don’t you.”
“It’s me,” Sirius said with a smug grin. “Lionsfan65 wants to know if being married to your best friend is like having a 24/ 7 sleepover.”
“Oh, that’s a good one.” Remus bit his lip. “Yeah, I think so. I mean, some nights we stay up late to watch movies and other nights we stay up late doing taxes, but it’s awesome.”
“That’s so accurate,” Sirius laughed. “We should build a taxes pillow fort sometime.”
“We totally should. That would make it so much more bearable.”
“We could have popcorn!”
“Hell yeah!” They high-fived, and Remus turned back to the phone. “Do waiters ever ask if we’re splitting the check?”
Sirius groaned. “All the time. We were on our honeymoon and literally holding hands over the table, and the waitress asked if we were on a ‘guys’ trip’.”
“She also said that our wives must be glad to have the weekend to themselves,” Remus added with a grimace. “It was one of those awkward ‘thanks, but that’s my husband’ moments.”
Sirius scrolled through the incoming questions, then burst out laughing. “Oh, fuck, I knew I missed doing these for a reason.”
“What? Which one is it?”
He took another moment to catch his breath before tapping the screen. “To Sirius: no offense, but your husband is really hot. Why would I take offense to that, fernbaby? It’s true!”
“Who sent that in? Thank you, fernbaby, that’s so nice!” Remus blushed a bit, but his smile turned to confusion as he read the next one. “Who wears the pants?”
“Right now, both of us. On a really good day, neither of us,” Sirius said easily. “Honey, someone thinks I’m an ‘alpha’.”
Remus tilted his head. “A what?”
“An ‘alpha’, whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean.”
“Seeing as we’re not werewolves, neither of us are an ‘alpha’.” Remus did air quotes around the word and raised an eyebrow. “Plus, the guy that originally coined those terms for wolf packs later came forward and said his experiment was unreliable and that he had proved wolves work in hierarchies based on age.”
“That’s science, bitches,” Sirius said with a grin. “Aw, this one is sweet! What are our nicknames for each other?”
“I call you ‘baby’ all the time, but ‘honey’ is a close second.”
“Yeah, there aren’t a lot of nicknames for my name. Um, I call you ‘sweetheart’, ‘mon loup’, ‘mon amour’, ‘Re’…now that I think about it, I can’t remember the last time I called you by your full name.”
“I hope not,” Remus laughed. “You only do that when I’m in trouble.”
“True. Oh, this one is for you.”
Remus scooted closer to him. “To Remus: what’s the hardest part about moving from PT to player? Ugh, everything. If I had to choose one thing, it would be having to step back from helping the guys when they get hurt in a game. Hestia still has to remind me to let her do her job sometimes, even though she’s the most amazing PT in the world and I have total trust in her. It’s pretty tough seeing your friends in pain and not being allowed to help them anymore.”
There was a beat of quiet. “Well, that got morbid fast,” Sirius said drily, making Remus snort. “This is promising: pick a Disney princess you each identify with.”
“Should we switch, and each say each other’s?”
Sirius gave him a look. “Do you even know mine?”
“Of course I know yours!” Remus said indignantly. “It’s Rapunzel!”
“What?”
“It totally is! You have a crush on Flynn Rider and her chameleon is named Pascal!”
Sirius hesitated, then nodded slowly. “Okay, fair. I was going to say Elsa. Yours is easy, though.”
“Are you sure?”
“If it’s not Belle, you’re lying to yourself.”
“It is, don’t worry,” Remus laughed. “Everyone in the comment section guessed that. Great job, guys! This is an easy one: what was our last fight about?”
“Which Disney princess I relate to more. Do we have the same taste in men?” Sirius stifled a laugh. “I think this one answers itself.”
Remus gestured vaguely. “Seeing as we look completely different, no. I’m into tall, athletic, heart of gold types.”
Sirius put his best poker face on. “Librarians are really my thing.”
“Okay, you know what—”
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” he laughed, tugging Remus closer to kiss his cheek despite the mock-scowl on his face. The phone screen lit up with multicolored hearts and they turned back to it after a chaste kiss on the lips. “Your turn.”
“Librarian,” Remus scoffed around a smile. “Why did we keep our wedding a secret? Well, we didn’t. Everyone knew it was happening.”
“We didn’t tell the media the details for a few reasons. Number one, we wanted a small ceremony with just friends and family. Number two, both of us are tired of people’s noses in our business. Number three, it was really, really funny watching them speculate.” He counted down on his fingers, looking rather self-satisfied. “And it worked. It was perfect.”
“Plus, we planned it in, like, six weeks. There weren’t a lot of concrete details to actually give people. Someone asked one for you, baby.”
“To me…do I get along with Re’s parents? Oh, I adore them. They’re amazing people and I love seeing them when they visit.”
A slow grin spread over Remus’ face. “Oh, I love this next question. Loops, we all know you’re weak for the French accent—you’re not wrong—but Cap, do you like his accent, too?”
Sirius lit up. “I do! It’s so cute! It comes out when he’s tired or excited and I just—” He smiled and drummed his hands on his knees, going a bit pink. “I dunno. It’s cute. Alright, let’s move on before I embarrass myself even more. Who’s the better cook or baker?”
“You are adorable,” Remus said, his cheeks vibrant red. “To answer the question, I’m the better cook, but I can’t bake for shit. Sirius makes brownies like you’ve never tasted before, though.”
“I’m practicing.”
“What’s the best prank I’ve ever pulled on Sirius?” Remus laughed under his breath. “Sirius and Pots teamed up to fuck with my gear one practice, so I spent the next day and a half playing the circus theme song whenever they walked into a room together.”
“Ah, fuck, I forgot about that,” Sirius muttered. “And then you got Finn to sing it, too.”
“I didn’t do anything, he started that himself.”
“He’s so annoying,” Sirius said fondly. “Alright, last question. Remus, was it hard to adjust to having more disposable income?”
Remus hummed in thought for a moment, resting his chin on his hand. “Definitely. I am so, so grateful to have this opportunity, but it’s always the little things that remind me. Like, plane tickets to go see my family in Wisconsin don’t have to be a big expense anymore. It’s been a really interesting adjustment for sure. Is that all we have time for?”
“I think so.” They waved to the camera one last time. “Thanks for joining us, and thanks for the great questions! Go Lions!”

So, two new episodes of Amphibia came out today and I loved them both...but I have issues with one more than the other.
I'll start by saying that I loved "Mr. X." It's a solid episode that introduces a new character as well as a new thread for the season. Both of which I can't wait to see more of.
And it also proves, once again, that Anne's parents are the best cartoon parents in a while. They're a perfect mix of chaotic and realistic, and I can't get enough of it.
Also, Anne being so nice and respectful towards her grandma is incredibly sweet, and I demand more s**t like that.
Now we get to "Sprig's Birthday," which is a cute and hilarious episode and I enjoyed every minute of it...but nothing happens. No narratives get introduced or continued and it's just characters screwing around for eleven minutes. Like I said, I enjoyed it, but...Ok, look:
The Owl House is what I consider Disney's best show. And it got SEVERLY screwed over, forcing the writers to make every episode count so they can at least keep some semblance of the story they wanted to tell. So when I see Amphibia dedicating time for a filler episode, even if it's one that I loved, it frustrates me. Especially when they introduced a new narrative thread that I'm not sure they'll even have time to properly develop amongst the other narrative threads they have. I would love to be proven wrong, and I'm hopeful that I am, but that doesn't change how I feel in the here and now.
Both these episodes are great, but I'm going to prefer an episode like "Mr. X" because something moves forward rather than bringing things to a standstill.

Hi Kay!
I just wanted to take a moment and say how deeply moving (and overall comforting) I find your writing to be! I've gone through almost the entirety of your masterlist twice in the past month alone and have found myself returning more often to the pieces of literature/poems your reference sometimes. (Especially that one poem by Benedict Smith! I've read a few more by him because of you and they're just wonderfully lovely 💛 so I'm eternally thankful to you for including it.)
I may be wrong in assuming, but I believe you may have studied/are currently studying a degree involving literature. I hope this isn't too foreward of me but I was wandering if you have any other works of literature that you'd recommend? (I'd love to read anything you recommend from poems to plays 💛) I'm slightly embaressed to say but the works I've read are quite limited to a highschool level and since I'm currently studying Pharmacy, there are very few people who can recommend me such moving works. :)
I also feel like I should apologise for writing such a large ask, so please accept this apology as well hehe 💕🥺
Sincerely,
Bek 🌻
Hey there Bek 💚💕✨
First of all... I'm incredibly sorry for how long it took me to reply to this ask, I know you sent it weeks ago and I'm honestly just ashamed of myself for only replying now! I've been taking a bit of a Tumblr break again, or rather a break from literally everything, and I guess not having written anything in a while made me feel guilty whenever I opened Tumblr, so... All I can say for myself really is that I'm sorry you had to wait so long! Again, I never ever ignore anyone, I promise! It just sometimes takes a while for me to reply 😅🙈
Now, I'm so happy to hear that you've been enjoying my writing! 🥺🥰 Hearing that it's comforting and inspiring to you is honestly such a relief and indeed does make me happy more than I can say 💚 It's so cool that you're checking up on all the references I make aaahhh 🥺🥺🥺 I love it 😁 You're always more than welcome, love! I don't think I could stop including references to literature, culture, history and the science around it even if I tried 😅☺️
And yeah, I did study classics and newer literature as a minor for my undergrad degree 😄 But tbh I still work with literally a lot even now (I'm in grad school for media and cultural studies) even though it's technically not something I've been properly taught ☺️ I'm just a nerd who likes to learn on her own, and with media and culture you can pretty much delve into almost anything you want 😂😅🤷🏻♀️
Now, it's not forward at all to ask me for literature recommendations! 😁😃 I truly love recommending stuff!!! I have a few up my sleeve, even though you've probably heard of a few already, for obvious reasons: A lot of what I truly enjoyed reading was something Tom Hiddleston has worked on in one way or another! It's truly a magnificent guideline for picking new literature... Just look up the literary origins of his films/shows/plays and you will be in for quality literature most of the time! I don't think I've ever mentioned it on here, but me reading High-Rise (JG Ballard) because I heard Tom would be partaking in the film adaptation was actually what sparked my love and passion for literature!!! Yep, it's that good. Now on to the recommendations though 😁(This... got rather long):
Plays
Anything by Harold Pinter really, but for obvious reasons you'll find a lot of additionally fun stuff for Betrayal, which is lovely and truly funny if you're in on the kind of humour btw
Medea by Euripides (a classic, but I love it nonetheless... You can find translations in almost every language) ((and pls stay away from Seneca's Medea, because ugh... Euripides is far better AND the og story, as much as anyone can say that for Greek mythology)
La Bohème by Puccini (I know, this is technically an opera, but if you read the libretto it's honestly just like a play... And if you're up for it, the og story is in prose and written by Henri Murger... It's better than the opera, but oftentimes more difficult to find) ((this one is hilarious and basically explains an entire cultural subgroup in the 19th century)
Faust by Goethe (many people hate it, but I LOVE this one!!! It's also been translated into any and every language, and it's so interesting philosophically!!! It's also referenced SO freaking often literally everywhere, and the operas and ballets based on it are always my fave) ((there's technically Faust I and Faust II, but you're good to go just reading the first one)
Anything by Shakespeare, obviously... Though I do love me my Hamlet like every other literature enthusiast (Yes, I can do that one famous soliloquy in act 3 scene 1 by heart as well...)
Poetry
Again, anything Shakespeare for the win, but I LOVE the sonnets and keep a copy of them with me most of the time (Yes, I own multiple copies of the sonnets...) ((My faves are 116 and 91, but there's always so much truth to be found in there!!!))
A lot of the stuff William Blake wrote is amazing, though you have to pick carefully with him if certain religious motives aren't your thing... I love The Tyger, which is an individual poem, and the collection of works called Tyger, Tyger which does have many good ones and a few ones that are a little more on the mediocre side
Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas (I know this one by heart as well... It's beautiful, and there's a version of Hiddleston reading it on YouTube, which gives you even more goosebumps than the poem does anyway)
Invictus by William Ernest Henley (same for this one, also read by the one and only) ((I love to read this when I'm feeling down or powerless))
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot (This is another wow piece with many quotable lines and truths... I love it a lot and keep coming back to it! It's also a great example of how literary modernism tried to condense the complexity and passing of time and history into a single frame that had to be intrinsically poetical in nature... As in, this poem could've been a short story in any other period, but modernists loved to make everything a poem so here you go)
Der Zauberlehrling by Goethe (This one sucks in all English translations I’ve found, poetically speaking, but in German it’s such a fun piece! If you’ve ever seen the Disney ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ with Mickey Mouse or listened to the orchestral piece by Paul Dukas, then this poem proves very useful in truly understanding either! But again, the English translation should only be taken for informational value... The German one is also worded hilariously)
Prose
Short edited by Alan Ziegler (This is a collection of short prose forms that honestly is a must for me... I love this book to pieces and have had it for years now! It’s an international anthology, so you’ll find more and less famous authors from all around the world represented with short stories, prose poems, short essays and just curious and interesting snippets of writing! I draw a lot of inspiration from this book)
High-Rise by JG Ballard (As mentioned above, I owe this book part of my personality... I don’t think I would be the same person without having read it. It’s not necessarily full of wisdom, but if you’re interested in a different kind of portrayal of the human condition, then this is the read you need to take a look at)
The City of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers (This is another piece that changed my perception of literature, even though this is a more ordinary and ‘fun’-value read... It’s one of my favourite books and it’s endlessly entertaining! So if the classics are a bit heavy for you, this one is perfect for casual readers as well! Its value really does lie more in the realisation of how fun literature can be, and the freedom you have as an author... So really, I could recommend everything by Moers, his style is amazing both in the German original and in the English translation. Yes, I’ve read both.)
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (This is comedic gold, stylistic gold and generally a bloody perfect book. Also a ‘fun’-value read, but it also does a magnificent job at showing you what you can do with literature, and how well-developed characters are supposed to be written)
The Penguin Book of the Undead (Penguin Classics) edited by Scott G. Bruce (This book is basically an education on fifteen hundred years of supernatural encounters and how culture wrote, used and perceived them. You get introductory texts for different periods and social groups, explaining how and why ghost stories were written and used, followed by passages of the prime source texts (eg. ancient necromancy shown on The Odyssey). Really, this book is just for cultural history nerds)
The Earthquake in Chile by Kleist (This isn’t necessarily one of my faves, but it has helped me understand what studying literature and culture can do for you. In case anyone remembers my insistence in Wicked Game that you gotta know what a pomegranate symbolises... this novella is such an instance where this knowledge would prove useful. Generally, it gives many opportunities to think about privilege and circumstance)
The Symposium by Plato (You’ll probably not want to read the entire collection of speeches tbh... But the concepts introduced mainly here and in some of Plato’s other work are well worth looking into! For example, the ‘double being’ introduces a concept that in modern fiction is called soulmates... Just sayin’)

Stuck In a Blizzard
(Bucky x Reader)
Word Count: 2.6k
Summary: Bucky and reader get stuck in a blizzard on the way back from the mission. Reader tries to save face by not letting on how cold they are which ends in comforting fluff and a doting Bucky.
A/N: This is pure self-indulgent fluff. I have a midterm tomorrow, and of course I procrastinated by polishing this one-shot. Also it has already started snowing where I live. As always, the reader is kept as non-descript as possible. Literally corn-ball central, it’s just to make you feel all warm and cozy inside.
It was so cold.
Not cold in the cute ‘curl up with a book and drink cocoa’ way.
It was below freezing, fight for survival, limbs numb, exhausted cold. Even worse than that, we hadn’t been prepared for it. The mission had gone fine, but the weather had taken a nasty turn so that there was no way of flying back. We had barely made it to the safe house and when we got out of the jet, it was blizzarding so much that we couldn’t see.
As we rushed in and slammed the door shut, the flakes didn’t even melt on the doormat.
I stomped my feet, trying to get some feeling back into them. It didn’t do anything. I shivered in my less-than-ideal jacket, and dropped my bag. “Is there a heater?”
Bucky was across the room fiddling with a fuse box. He flipped one of them and some lights came on. It had a cozy-looking interior despite the frigid air. He flipped another one, but the heater gave a couple weak thrums and then stopped. He chuckled, “I guess not.”
I walked over to the fireplace. There was a sizeable stack of firewood and some matches. “I guess we’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way. I knelt down and stacked the firewood like a log cabin. The wood must have been exceptionally dry, because it lit up quickly and the fire became steady.
I shrugged off my now damp jacket and hung it on a chair. I wished it was dry so that I could still wear it. Despite the fire the air was still freezing. I searched my bag in the hope of finding another layer, but it was mostly mission gear and pajamas.
Bucky was making an inventory of the cupboards and everything else. “Well, there is plenty of food, dry stuff, and bars. We won’t starve.” He was wearing his cargo pants and t-shirt, and not shivering at all.
“Aren’t you cold?”
He smiled, “Nope, perks of the super serum I guess.”
The clothes I was wearing were damp as well and I was trying not to show how much I was shivering. I was usually great in the cold. My parents had always called me ‘polar-bear’ because of how much I liked the snow, but this was another level. “I’m going to change,” I said automatically.
He nodded at me and started looking through his bag as well.
Luckily my pjs were sweatpants and a long-sleeved shirt, but it still wasn’t adequate. I put all the socks I had brought with me on. We had been able to wash up at a location the day before, so nothing smelled too bad.
I was alone, with Bucky, in a cabin in the middle of a storm. I blushed at the prospect of having to share a room with him, but was very worried at the prospect of him seeing me as weak. I had always been tough on missions. I could fight through pain, I could hike when I was exhausted, and I could outsmart almost any enemy battle plan, but I couldn’t control the chattering of my teeth or the numbness spreading through my fingers and toes. With anyone else I may have let down my guard, but with Bucky, I didn’t want to. He was my superior officer, he was my friend too, but non-work excursions didn’t generally require feats of strength and showing your mettle. I didn’t have to worry about looking tough at the movies or having food. This was my first time as a second on a mission—just him and me—we had done group missions before, but I wanted a chance to prove myself. Even then, I liked him; liked him, liked him, and I didn’t want him to think any less of me. I was determined. It was just one night.
When I got out of the bathroom, Bucky had changed as well. He was sitting on the couch with a blanket that I saw he had gotten from an open chest at the foot of the bed. He was messing with the communicators. “No signal right now, we will have to wait for the storm to die down. Hopefully Tony won’t worry too much about you.”
I smiled, confused, “What do you mean?”
“Well, he’s not going to worry about me. He doesn’t like me.” He chuckled.
I chuckled with him, but argued back. “If he’s worried about me more than you it would be that I’m not a super-soldier, just a regular human.”
He frowned slightly, though I wasn’t sure why.
There were three other blankets in the chest. I spread two of them out on the bed and wrapped one around myself. I sat on the couch in front of the fire and started gnawing on a very cold protein bar.
Bucky did the same thing, staring into the flames. “You ok?” he asked suddenly.
I turned towards him and there was a concerned look wrinkling his brow. I smiled, trying to suppress my shivering again, “Yeah, I’m good.” The fire wasn’t doing anything to quell the chill. “I’m just tired I guess.”
He nodded, “You can have the bed, I can take the couch.” He said, he still looked concerned.
I didn’t sleep at all that night. I was afraid that if I did, I would freeze and not be able to wake up. I’m sure I was exaggerating, but my body simply would not let me sleep.
I was exhausted.
///
In the morning, the blizzard was still raging. The only reason I could tell it was morning was because Bucky got up, looked out the window and swore.
“What time is it?” I asked, still huddled under the blankets in bed.
“It’s 8AM, not that anyone could tell that from the amount of snow out there.”
I groaned, and got out of bed, joining him at the window to look outside. I pulled the blanket closer around me. The shivering was starting to make me crazy. I was tired and I wanted to cry, but I pulled myself away and made another fire. I sat myself down on the rug right in front of it.
Bucky came and sat next to me. “You sleep alright?” he asked.
“Yeah, good,” I lied halfheartedly. I probably looked a mess, but I hoped he would somehow not notice. He looked refreshed. He was still wearing that t-shirt and looked as though he was as comfortable as he would be on a balmy spring day.
“Ever been in a blizzard before?” he asked.
I shook my head, “I love the snow, usually.” I laughed shortly, “I love playing in the snow and everything, but I’ve never been in a blizzard, or at least nothing this bad.”
“Did you get snow growing up?”
I nodded, “Yeah, we would get a good amount of snow where I lived. Everyone always was bothered by it, but I actually always looked forward to it.”
“So you’re a little polar-bear,” he nudged me with his elbow playfully.
“Yeah,” I tried to smile with his teasing.
We found a set of cards and played for a while in front of the fire, chatting. The stove still worked, and Bucky managed to boil some water so we could have cup noodles and hot chocolate. We even found some old Disney tapes and a VCR and watched Mulan and The Lion King. I know Bucky had seen some Disney movies before, cause I made him watch some, but we hadn’t gotten around to these ones and it was adorable to see him laugh and be surprised at the stories, he almost seemed like a child again. I even saw him wipe away a tear during the Lion King.
I almost felt warm. Almost. I kept the blanket wrapped around me the whole day and tried to stay as close to the fire as possible. We didn’t have a temperature reading, but I was sure it was still far below zero as when I had seen it the day before in the jet.
I didn’t feel great. My body was so exhausted from the mission and not sleeping, and it was wavering under the stress of being cold, but I was trying to save face. I felt my eyes close a couple of times during the movie, and in our last game of cards I couldn’t seem to pay attention. I felt like crying, but I wouldn’t.
“Are you doing alright?”
My eyes snapped up to Bucky, what did he see? “Yeah, why?” I made an effort to smile.
“You just seem a little unfocused.”
I nodded, “Yeah, I’m all good.”
He didn’t look convinced, “You know you can tell me if something is wrong, right?”
“I know,” I tried not to make eye contact with him, his asking made tears start to prick at my eyes. I was just so exhausted.
“You did really well on the mission, if that’s what you’re worried about. I know I don’t say a lot of stuff like that, but you did do really well.”
“Thanks, I’m fine, really.”
He was silent for a moment, I looked at my hand of cards, not wanting to look at him.
“I,” he sighed, “I—Can you let me know what’s on your mind? I just have a feeling that you’re not telling me something.”
I couldn’t stop the tears from running down my face. I tried to wipe them away, and he noticed.
“Hey, hey—” he scooted toward me on the floor and set his hand on my knee, “It’s ok, just tell me what’s up.”
I sniffed, oh goodness, I could slap myself. I was sniffing. “I’m just—just so—cold,” I lamely half-stuttered, half-shivered.” I wiped more tears away, “I didn’t want you to judge me.”
“For being cold?”
I couldn’t look him in the face, I shook my head, “For being weak.”
“I don’t think you’re weak—but why—why would I think your being cold made you weak?”
I shrugged, “I dunno.” I sniffed again, wiped at my nose and eyes again, trying to stop my body shaking from sobs and shivering.
“Oh hon, no,” He pushed some hair back from my face, “I don’t think you’re weak. I chose you to be second on this mission because I think you’re the opposite of that. We work well together, and you always persevere, even when things get tough.”
I stifled another sob, “I know, but now—”
“You can’t control the weather doll.”
“I’ve been through so much worse though, and then this gets me,” I gestured to the cold, “And I just wanted to impress you and I didn’t want to complain,” I sniffed again, “And I’m just so tired and I can’t think. And now I’m crying.” I gave a dry laugh.
“How did you actually sleep last night?”
He was still close to me with his hand resting on my knee, I didn’t look at him. “Terribly.”
“You should have told me.” He said gently.
I looked up at him and gave a faltering smile, “Well it’s not like there was that much you could do about it either.”
He wiped some tears from my cheek, and I felt my face grow warm from the contact.
“You still could have told me, we’re partners we need to be honest with each other, and I think there is something I could have done.” The look on his face was so gentle and kind that I felt my chest blooming with a different type of warmth.
I wasn’t sure what he was going to do, but in one fluid movement he had pulled me into his lap and stood up. I gave a small noise of surprise, and was so startled that my arms automatically wrapped around him as was lifted into the air.
“Bucky—” I started.
He walked to the bed, “You need sleep, and you need heat.”
“Uh—”
“We’re going to cuddle,” he stated simply. He set me down and pulled back the covers, settling in next to me.
“Oh, um, you don’t need—”
“I’m lead on the mission, right? That means I need to take care of you.”
“Bucky—”
He pulled the covers over us and wrapped his arms around me, tucking my head into the crook of his neck. He gave a relaxed sigh, “Are you comfortable?”
I nodded into his chest.
“Good.”
“Bucky, thank you, but you really don’t need to do this.”
I felt his nose graze the top of my hair, “If I didn’t want to do this, I wouldn’t be doing this. If you’re uncomfortable, I’ll go. I just thought you might need some extra body heat.”
Honestly, it felt heavenly. He was so warm. I felt my shivering start to subside as soon as he had pulled the covers over us. I didn’t ever want him to leave.
“You’re so warm,” I mumbled, feeling myself start to drift off.
I felt his chest rumble as he chuckled, “I tend to run hot.”
I don’t know if it was my vulnerable sleepy mind, or a streak of bravery, but I heard myself say: “Yeah you do,” in an obviously playful voice.
My eyes shot open after I heard myself, and I found myself looking at a smirking Bucky.
“I—I don’t, I’m sorry—” I stuttered, then I groaned, and tried to turn away from him.
He laughed at me, “Oh no you don’t,” he kept me from turning over, pulling me tighter to his body, “Do you have something you want to say to me?”
I heard the smirk in his voice, and didn’t dare look at him, instead covering my face in my hands, “No?”
“I think you do,” He insisted.
“It’s ok, you can let me freeze now.”
He laughed again and pried my hands from my face, “Hey, you don’t get to get out of an explanation.”
I hid my face as much as possible in the pillow.
“We’re partners, right? We need to be honest.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, just stop making fun—I’m so tired.”
He laughed, but not an unkind laugh, “I’m not making fun, I’m just wondering. Is it possible you said that cause you like me? Doll?”
I let myself look into his face. Although I knew he was amused by the situation, his eyes and voice were sincere, he actually wanted to know. I nodded, twice, slowly. I looked away again and became even more aware of his arms around me, and his body pressed next to mine. “I’m sorry, I didn’t—didn’t know how to—it’s just that we’re friends and you’re my superior—and I’m just—just—"
I was cut off as he tilted my face towards his with one of his hands, and kissed me. I let out a breath of surprise, but his hands threaded through my hair, keeping his lips on mine, and I kissed him back. My brain seemed to have short-circuited and my whole body was suddenly filled with warmth. I wasn’t shivering from the cold anymore.
He pulled away, and I tried to follow with a noise of complaint, but I opened my eyes. I have never received a look like the look he gave me before. It was so full of love an adoration that I was taken aback. He loved me, just as I loved him, and he didn’t have to say anything for me to know, but he did anyway.
“I should have told you sooner,” he said, “I’m such a coward, you’re the brave one. I love you, I love you so, so much.”
I smiled, and brushed some hair behind his ear, “I love you too Bucky, so, so much.”
He gave me another kiss, just as passionate, but shorter. “You still need sleep,” he noted, and pulled me as close as possible, and allowing me to rest in his warmth.

FULL REVIEWS: “Understanding Willow”
Damn this episode was hyped up. Everyone was looking forward to this. Everyone wanted to know how this was going to go down. I did too and when we got it we were not disappointed.
However it did prove why I don’t participate in fan theories because we’re all usually wrong all the time. So I say just shut up and be patient. But enough of why I’m not invited to discussions. Lets get it on!
We start the cold open with a Skara sighting! I still think her design is cute. She inviting her friends to her fifteenth birthday party. Neat. We see a bit of Amity’s dynamic with the two. Boscha is actively mean to Willow and Luz while the other two seem more neutral.
“It’s fun because it’s stupid.” This was hilariously adorable.
This was adorably hilarious.
Again we get another quick shot of how Boscha and her group pick on Willow. Skara doesn’t actively join but she does laugh at Willow which does suck. And we know Amity used to put down Willow too. My lumity loving heart is guessing that she’s stopped because of Luz’s influence but it’s just a guess. Still not cool that she doesn’t stop Boscha but that’s for another episode.
That must be an odd sensation.
We cut to photo memory class(?) and it’s big brain time again. What track would this be in? What purpose would this serve? Who would need to pull out memories with tweezers? If this process could permanently damage a person why would you let teenagers do it to other teenagers? It’s a madhouse I tells ya. A madhouse.
Anyway.
So Willow was always a cutie.
Luz notices the Amity memory, but Willow asks her to drop it and leave it alone. Which she doesn’t do. It’s another character flaw of Luz that we’re going to see more of. She always has good intentions but she tends to overstep her bounds. It’s (to me) another form of being innocently insensitive, a common character flaw in characters like Luz.
Amity notices the memory too when she passes by the room. She wants to put their previous friendship behind them and does the reasonable thing of setting the memory on fire. Which sets all the memories on fire because of course it does. It’s fire! Dammit Amity, I thought you were the smart one.
“I’ve connected the dots.” “You haven’t connected shit.” “I’ve connected them.”
We start the B-plot with Gus. Apparently after being kicked out of the Human Appreciation Society, he’s been looking for another club to join and is trying the school paper. He has to interview someone to get in but can’t decide on who.
Is it hot in here or am I just dying?
Willow starts freaking out and getting all sweaty and everyone (you included) figures out why immediately.
And there it is.
So Willow is going to to bye-bye for good unless they do something. So Luz takes everyone to the smartest person she knows because it’s clearly not Amity right now.
It’s a good thing you went to Eda and not a teacher or Willow’s parents.
So Eda explains that they can recover Willow’s mind before all the memories are permanently destroyed by physically sending someone in there to recover and repair the memories.
“Be still my fantasy loving heart!”
I agree with Luz. I love the journey to the center of the mind trope. But Eda believes in the buddy system so someone has to go with her and since we need Gus for the B-plot, it’s Amity.
Luz and Amity enter Willow’s mind and it takes a quick second to organize itself to a form that they can perceive because it’s the mind. That’s kind what it does. It likes to organize things to recognize patterns and because magic.
Luz and Amity start fixing the memories. Apparently, Willow and Amity were really good friends when they were little and even Amity feels bad about almost getting rid of them. But there’s one memory that Amity doesn’t want Luz to see.
Meanwhile in the B-plot, Gus is still trying to find someone to interview. Eda suggests herself because she’s Eda, and King demands attention. They don’t care about Gus’s whatever; they just like attention.
Back in Willow’s mind, Luz and Amity are going a good job repairing the memories but something is undoing all their work. We get a cute moment between Luz and Amity that I want to talk about more when I do my lumity analysis after I finish the reviews.
BTW, I’m going to do a lumity analysis.
They discover that the monster undoing all their work wasn’t actually that one fire Digimon whose name escapes me, but was actually the Inner Willow. The Inner Willow reveals that Willow actually resents Amity for ending their friendship and letting her new friends pick on her for years.
Now she has the opportunity to let out all her anger and hate like The Emperor’s dialogue in a STAR WARS movie. I know I’ve made that joke before but it still applies.
Inner Willow plays back the memory of when Amity ended their friendship. We know they said that Amity did it because Willow was bad at magic but the acutal memory is a little off. Amity reveals why as well as the truth on why she really ended her friendship with Willow.
Amity’s parents never liked Willow because she wasn’t from an elite witch family. Of course Amity didn’t care. She was a little kid and kids don’t care about stuff like that. Amity’s parents say that she can have one of the friends that they picked out for her. (So Amity’s parents don’t even see Skara and Boscha as people either, huh?) Turns out they were brats even back then too. I guess Skara mellowed out over time. When Amity refuses, her parents promise that they’ll use their influence to make sure that Willow can’t get into Hexside.
This a threat but I always wondered why it was a threat. The best guesses are that Amity and Willow wouldn’t be able to see each other at all, Willow wanted to go to Hexside, Hexside is one of the better schools on The Boiling Isles, Hexside was the closest school to Willow’s house and going somewhere else would be too much of a pain in the ass. Whatever the case, the threat worked and Amity broke off their friendship in her birthday. Amity’s, not Willow’s. Pronouns.
Amity can’t undo the years of pain she’s put on Willow, but she can promise to make things better from now on. Amity apologizes and promises that she will try to stop Boscha and her gang from picking on her. Egg on her face, huh?
Hayden Christensen is going to show up next. I can feel it.
Luz and Amity repair the memories and leave Willow’s mind. In a very mature twist for a Disney show, Willow admits she can’t forgive Amity yet. There were literal years of pain between them. But it’s a start. And the episode ends with Gus interviewing Hooty and that goes exactly the way you think it would. Hoot.

FINAL SCORE: 5 - Loved it.
This episode was everything people wanted and more. The drama, the depth, the heart all came across strong here. Not a major turning point for the plot (because I know some people who dismiss every episode that isn’t about the main plot as filler. BTW fuck you guys), but this was a major turning point for the characters. Luz may be the main character of the show, but the main characters of the episode were Willow and Amity.
If I had to find any faults it’s that I didn’t think the B-plot was that great. I don’t think Gus is very funny yet. Especially when you put him next to two comedic powerhouses like King and Eda. Other than that, this was a mind blowing episode. And it’s not even the first one!

the chosen one
pairing: loki x reader
request: hi i was wondering if you could write a fluffy loki imagine where maybe he’s like an ass to everyone but just kinda claims the reader as like his favorite person or something and honestly you don’t even have to stick to that i’d just love a fluffy loki if you could thank you!
warnings: some swearing, very fluffy
(gotta love fluffy loki. the best loki. also, this is a bit long so i’m sorry about that hehe)
The main thing you loved about the Avengers, your lovely teammates, was the fact that each one had something that set them a part from the rest. Bruce’s buzzing brain, Tony’s ego, Nat’s confidence, and so on. You adored every single one of them.
And what they adored about you was that you were always the “empathetic” Avenger. The one who believed in second changes. In never judging a book by its cover. And the one who believed people could genuinely change for the better. Now, everyone else was also fully aware of the fact that you could easily kick anyone’s ass with your powers or wit. Or both at the same time. But your welcoming, trusting personality definitely shined. Most of your teammates loved you for it, even if they teased you endlessly for being the nice one.
But what really threw your team off was the way you allowed Loki onto the team so easily with no doubts. Years after the incident in New York with the God of Mischief, Thor began asking for Loki’s acceptance into the Avengers. He claimed that even under his sarcasm and rolling eyes, he had changed for the better. The whole team was very hesitant, but after tons of psychological evaluations and close screenings, Loki was slowly turned into an Avenger. He’d aided on plenty of missions, proving himself to be good a bit more every time. But the team still wanted to suffocate him to death every once in a while.
Loki didn’t exactly like any of the Avengers, and he felt like none of them liked him either. But a job was a job.
The only exception was you. You’d been the only one throughout his time as an Avenger that never provoked him, or looked at him in a dirty way. Well, it wasn’t like you two even had conversations. You two simply minded your own business around each other. You never trashed him, so he left you alone. Simple as that. You were never one for hating on someone who was trying to change.
It wasn’t until one night after dinner, when Tony provoked an argument with Loki, that you finally had had enough.
“Someone tell me why we let him be an Avenger again. Please?” Tony said after Loki had dramatically left the room.
Clint sighed, “I’ve been saying, he’s too risky after what he did in New York.”
The others chimed in, and even Thor expressed reluctance about his brother. You couldn’t believe your ears. So you suddenly slammed your hands on the table, causing your friends’ head to snap towards you.
“Are you guys fucking kidding me? I wasn’t aware that we were gonna start contemplating kicking people off the team every time we talk back or start a stupid argument.”
Tony crossed his arms, “That’s not what we’re doing. And it is so much more than just the arguments. Loki-“
“No!” You exclaimed, “It isn’t fair to him! It’s not fair at all. How many of us have shitty pasts we’ve moved on from? How many of us have made stupid mistakes that we will probably regret for the rest of our lives? Most likely all of us. But do we give each other horrible looks every time we see each other? No! We forgive each other and ourselves. That’s the thing about us, Tony: we stick together no matter what.”
No one said anything, so you continued, “And I’m fully aware that Loki’s mistakes are probably far worse than anything we’ve ever done, but the message still stands. I mean, how many missions has he helped us on? The amount of close security and psych evaluations he’s been through just to be part of the team? It’s been years, for fucks sake. Yes, he can be a dick to some of you sometimes, but that’s just him. It’s no reason to continue to hate his guts. Do you guys remember the mission France like 5 months ago that almost went wrong? Loki saved my life. I was this close to being killed. If he hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t be here today with you guys. So I think we owe him some thanks. Especially me.”
You were heated by that point. Everyone continued to stay completely silent, so you stood up.
“I-I’m gonna head to bed now. Just wanted to let y’all know you’re being a bit hypocritical,” And you walked away, catching just a ghost of a smile on Nat’s face.
“Jesus, I think she’s heard one too many of Steve’s speeches,” Rhodey muttered, earning a shove from Steve himself.
But what you didn’t know while you walked away, was that Loki had been standing in the other room, hearing every word you’d just said.
—
Over a week passed since your monologue at the dinner table. No one really mentioned anything about it afterwards, which you were really grateful. All you got was a random pat on the back from Steve and him saying, “We’re all proud of you, kiddo.”
You made your way into the kitchen, which was currently being used by most of your team. 9am in the tower’s kitchen on days off were always pretty hectic. Wearing your usual workout outfit, you made your way towards the mug cabinet.
You were the only one on the team that avoided coffee at all costs. Tea was your go-to. The only other person like you in that aspect was Loki. He was the kind of person you’d caught making tea at 2 in the morning when he couldn’t sleep.
As you reached for the mugs, you realized your favorite one - a minnie mouse one you’d bought at Disney World years ago - was nowhere to be seen. You were pretty sure you’d just put it away last night after helping Tony with the dishes.
“Here.”
You turned around to see Loki, still in his forest green silk robe, holding out your well-loved mug in his hand. You could smell your usual green tea steaming out of the mug.
You stood in shock more a moment before snapping out of your thoughts and taking the mug from him carefully.
“Oh, thank you,” You smiled genuinely. You could feel Nat’s gaze on you a few feet away at the waffle-maker. In fact, a few of the team members’ eyes flickered towards your interaction. Loki’s face remained neutral as he went back to making his own cup of tea.
Thor, noticing this, yawned, “Brother, could you please pour me a cup of-“
“No,” Loki walked out of the room with his tea in one hand, and book in the other. Thor’s mouth slightly fell, glancing back from the cup of tea in your hands to Loki. Steve snorted from the stool next to Thor.
What the fuck just happened? You made your way towards the gym a few floors down with confusion on your face. But mostly warmth in your heart.
The next day, Loki had your green tea waiting for you in your favorite mug once again. And you didn’t hesitate to give him your signature smile and a sweet “thank you”, even if you were a bit taken aback.
And he continued to do this for the next few days. Every morning, without fail. Green tea. Minnie Mouse mug.
At this point, Nat definitely became more aware. She pulled you aside after a while with slightly mischief in her eyes.
“Are you two friends?” She asked genuinely.
“Nat, it’s just tea.”
“Yeah, except Loki’s never even bothered to do something like that with the rest of us. Never.”
You shrugged, “He isn’t Satan. He’s capable of nice things.”
Nat chucked, “Not like this. And it’s just with you. He practically begged you have you as a partner during our last mission.”
It was true, although you wouldn’t exactly say ‘beg’. But he had been pretty adamant on having you as his partner for the mission. He’d asked you kindly first before letting Tony know. In the moment, you hadn’t thought much of it. But looking back at it, you now realized how genuine his actions had been. And you two made a hell of a team that day.
“Maybe he heard your speech that other night,” She smirked, walking away before winking at you. You stood there dumbfounded with a slight redness growing in your cheeks.
That afternoon, with your work done for the day, you made your way towards the main living room with your current book in your hands.
Upon entering the room, you should see Loki’s figure on the couch. He was slightly bent over which only meant he was probably reading as well. You hesitated, but made your way over anyways.
“Is it okay if I read here, too?” You asked quietly. Loki glanced up at you, nodding softly.
“Of course.” Was all he said. You gave him a ghost of a smile before plopping down the the other couch a few feet away. His eyes promptly followed you as you turned to the page marked by your bookmark. You began reading calming, posing no threat to him, so he continued his reading too. Loki felt quite at peace with the sun setting, your soft breathing, and his favorite book in his lap. And the best part: the rest of the Avengers were nowhere to be seen.
“What are you reading?” Your voice sounded softly. Loki placed a finger to mark where he last read before glancing up at you. You feared he’d be pissed off for the interruption, so you continued.
“I mean, I’ve seen you carry that book around for a while now. And it’s all worn out...which usually means it’s a good book,” You chuckled.
Loki watched you carefully before smirking, “Indeed. It’s called Pride and Prejudice. I’ve been told it’s a classic amongst mortals. Have you read it?”
Your face suddenly lit up. Your book was suddenly set aside as you leaned forward excitedly. Loki, although he would never admit it out loud, loved the sparkle forming in your glorious eyes.
“Yes!” You said, “Oh, it’s one of my all time favorites. The movie, too.”
Loki quirked an eyebrow, “There’s a movie? Well, I’ll have to watch that once I’m done with reading it.”
“So you like the book?”
“...Yes. I’m about three-quarters done with it. I have to say, it is rather enjoyable.”
You leaned back against the couch, gazing dreamily at the ceiling, “I’m a sucker for those kinds of romance stories. And I like to think I’m quite like Elizabeth Bennet.”
Loki squinted, “I think so, too.” You lifted your head slightly, making eye contact with the raven-haired God. The soft gaze on his face seemed to mean well, so you allowed for your cheeks to grow a light shade of red.
“Well,” You smiled, looking down at your book, “Let’s get back to reading, yeah?”
Loki nodded, but made sure to keep his eyes on your for a few seconds longer before opening to his page once more.
—
Another couple week passed, and Tony decided to call a ‘very urgent team meeting that has nothing to do with actual team stuff’.
You entered the kitchen where the rest of your teammates were sitting or standing around, chattering amongst themselves. Tony was waiting until everyone arrived before sharing what he needed to say. You slid on a stool next to Nat.
Bucky and Bruce showed up a minute or so later, which meant practically everyone was there. You looked around for the only missing person: Loki. But before you could say anything, the familiar God walked in with Tony followed a few feet behind.
“Alright,” Tony clapper his hands, “Glad we’re all here.” He walked into the kitchen where he served himself some liquor before turning to the rest of you. You felt Loki come up behind you, before situating himself right next to you.
You looked up at him, smiling softly, “Hi.”
“Hello,” He spoke extremely lowly, yet his eyes brightened just a bit more. You felt even more tiny compared to him now that you were sitting and him standing.
“So...what’s this meeting for?” Bruce asked.
“Great question,” Tony said, “I have decided that after tireless back-to-back missions these past few days...we all deserve a treat. That’s why I booked a reservation to the fanciest restaurant within a twenty minute drive. It’s at 8, so I want all of us ready to leave by 7:40.”
“God, Tony you know I hate when you plan stuff like this last minute,” Bruce stressed.
Tony shrugged, “It’s not like any of you losers had plans. Now, go get ready. You’ve all got less than two hours.”
You sighed, “The fanciest place in the city? I hope you’re paying.” A few chuckles sounded from your teammates.
“I wasn’t joking,” You looked at Tony.
The genius rolled his eyes, “Obviously I’m paying. Now, go! All of you. Shoo. Jesus, you try to do a nice thing and people still ask questions-“
Everyone groaned, getting up from their spots and leaving to their rooms to get prepared for the big night. You sent Loki a sympathic glance before going to your floor. You knew he hated going out.
So that’s how you ended up wearing your nicest white, tight-fitting dress that ended a few inches above your knee. It had a long, thick golden embellishment traveling from the bottom to your top left shoulder. It was very classy. And paired with golden heels, you truly felt otherworldly.
You, Nat, and Wanda were all up in each other’s bedrooms, trying to decide each other’s hair and makeup. Wanda was especially skilled with eyeshadow looks for some reason. And Nat more with hair. Your two blessings, you called them.
You three joined the rest of the guys in front of tower, all piling in the long, iconic Stark limo. You definitely hadn’t missed the look Loki gave you as you walked past him to get into the vehicle. He didn’t say anything, so neither did you. You just sent him your signature smile.
Champagne was passed around once in the limo with flashing lights. You were squished between Thor and Loki, which wasn’t exactly a complaint. Thor was cracking jokes to you and calling you “my lady” the entire ride. It was a blast, and you hadn’t even arrived yet. Loki on the other hand, stayed quiet as a mouse. He only said “thank you” when you passed him a glass, and that was it.
Upon arriving, your breath was almost taken away at how fancy the restaurant truly was. Tony never disappointed. Your team’s reserved table had each seat labeled with each of your names on paper.
Nobody noticed, but Loki created an illusion to switch you and Bucky’s seats so you’d be sitting next to him.
Loki allowed you to slide into your chair first before sitting down next to you. He immediately reached for the menu. Seeing that there weren’t enough left for you, you silently read over his shoulder. Without saying anything, he slightly lowered the menu to give you a better look.
Hours passed, and the entire table had fallen a bit tipsy. You were stuffed with more than enough raviolis and champagne. You even accidentally hiccuped while trying to tell a story to the rest, but everyone teased you so much for it, you couldn’t even finish what you were going to say. But how could you be mad? You were having the funniest, and most lovely night of your life with your second family. The rest of the restaurant probably hated all of your guts for your loudness and endless laughter, but none of you cared.
“I’ll be back,” Loki had whispered from beside you. You turned your head, watching him walk away towards the restaurant’s balcony doors. You looked back at your team, seeing they were all occupied with themselves, and followed Loki.
Feeling the fresh breeze outside somehow made you and your bloating feel a bit better. You spotted the familiar dark-haired man gazing out at the buzzing city at the edge of the balcony.
You sucked in a breath before speaking, “May I join you?”
He looked back, “Of course.”
It was always of course, you thought.
Your heels clattered lightly on the tile floor as you made your way next to him. You didn’t know if it was the champagne in your system, but you found yourself standing extremely close, touching shoulders with Loki. But he didn’t make any efforts to move away.
“You seemed awfully quiet during dinner. Is everything okay?” You asked.
Loki looked at his hands, “Just not the ‘going out’ type, remember?” You nodded, looking back at the skyline.
“You know, Loki,” you said, “I never properly thanked you for saving my life back in France months ago.”
You’d had a couple slip ups in missions before, but the entire team remembered that traumatic mission in France extremely well. You truly had been on the verge of dying. So close. But Loki had gotten in there and saved your ass. And Loki remembered, too. But it hurt him too much to think back on it. He’d been so close to never seeing your bright smile, or your infectious giggles again.
“Y/N, I-“
The alcohol in your system didn’t stop you from rambling, “I know I’m late, like, months late, but I just wanted you to know. I am so thankful. I literally owe you my life-“
“You don’t owe me anything, Y/N, heavens,” Loki watched you with a concerned gaze.
You blushed, “Well, I needed to get it off my chest. So, thank you Loki.”
“Well, I couldn’t afford losing the only person on this team I can somewhat stand.”
Your eyes flickered to his, seeing him wear an amused smirk on his face.
“I’m-I’m your favorite Avenger?” You teased. The God rolled his eyes.
Your smile was making your cheeks burn, “FYI...you’re my favorite, too. Well, maybe next to Nat.”
Loki let out a small, breathy laugh. You joined in, making him stare at you once more. His stare was so intense, you didn’t know what to do except awkwardly stare back.
Loki wanted more. He yearned to hear your voice again. So that’s why he said the next thing without thinking.
“You look beautiful tonight. Well, every day, of course. I forgot to tell you when you walked of your room a couple of hours ago, so I’m letting you know now.”
You were so thankful it was dark out, for you just knew that the look on your face was embarassing. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.
“I think you’re beautiful, too,” You blurted. Loki gave you the softest gaze you’ve ever seen, so you couldn’t help but carefully place your hand on of top his.
Loki tenderly lifted your hand before pressing his lips to the tip of your fingers. All you could do was watch, breathless. He set your hand down before grabbing both sides of your face, and pressing another soft kiss, but to your forehead this time.
“That’s why we’re each other’s favorites,” He smiles cheekily at you.
You giggled, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Indeed.”

Him As Your Boyfriend (Seokjin Headcanon)
pairing: boyfriend!seokjin x reader
genre: romance, fluff
note: help me spread the seokjin boyfriend agenda, this man is the only boyfriend ever
note 2: jimin is the only member left and i’d love to do one for him :( feel free to send in the request for him!
m.list | requested
EVERYDAY LIFE
you won’t disagree with me when i say
this man is the perfect boyfriend/husband material
he’s full of love
practically overflowing
incredibly gentle and caring
but will also do his best to win any argument and prove you wrong with humour
you know like the jokey arguments he usually has with jk?
yeah those
i can easily imagine him debating with you for what crisp flavour to get that week
or where to eat on vacation
sometimes he’d give in to you
but more times than not he’d stand his ground
buy you an RJ to make up for it :(((
as much as seokjin would tease you with silly arguments
he’d never fail to look after you
whenever you’d try and do something around the house
he would come up behind you
hug you
and just waddle behind you as you tried to free yourself from his grip
think of him as being a human bubblewrap :((
now
what kind of boyfriend headcanon would this be
if i didn’t mention all the meals he’d make for you
when you started to live together, the kitchen would absolutely be the main social room for you guys
having an island to sit around and cook at was very important to you both
and you’d do your best to help him
but just out of courtesy
seokjin would either give you the easy tasks and take on the harder ones himself
or return everything you’d do for him by offering to cook on his own
either way, you’d always look forward to coming home to the meals he’d make for you
i imagine that jin would be so focused on making sure you were happy
that sometimes he’d forget to take some time for himself
so whenever he’d have a free weekend
you’d book some places in a fishing boat and participate in his interests like he did yours
i can’t even begin to imagine how much fun he’d have teaching you how to fish
and how proud he’d be whenever you caught something
no matter how big or small
even better when you bring it home and find a way to incorporate it into a meal
his camera roll just being photos of you
holding all your catches with the biggest grin
and he just smiles at them when he misses you nooo :((
HIS GESTURES
okay okay
the best date with seokjin
and you cannot argue with me on this
theme park
he seems to really enjoy them
i remember when they went to america he spent his time at six flags
and said he prefers amusement parks over zoos
so
because of how extra this man can be
i can very much imagine his gift for an anniversary being one big ol disney date
taking the same instagram photos by the castle as everyone else
but mugshots of each other in each different land and area
and trying all of the different street foods
as well as the higher end restaurants
and just having fun yknow?
i highly doubt there’s ever a dull moment but you get my drift
if not a theme park then
this is gonna sound strange but stay with me
a european market
yeah i know that’s not very romantic from the outset
but taking time with jin
to just stroll around this city plaza
that’s packed full with colourful stalls
clouds of steam coming off all different cuisines
boxes of old, forgotten vinyls
tiers of the brightest, most fragrent of flowers
i’m not sure whether you’d both be looking intently at what was on display
or if he’d just stand back, holding paper bags full of goodies you’d bought
just admiring how delicate you looked
browsing over the handmade jewellery
or inspecting the bunches of colour coordinated flower bouquets
HIS ATTITUDES
seokjin is one of our introverted members
and is known for his manners and politeness
i think if a situation arose
where you found yourself in a confrontation
his approach might be more to talk you down
instead of directly diffusing the situation
“it’s not worth it” kinda
however
if it ever came to you being harassed
by the press/a stranger/creeps
that’s when he steps in
i don’t think he’d ever resort to intense confrontation
and if he did it would take a lot to get him there
jin is one of those quiet but angry people
his voice would just go ice cold
i’d hate to be on the other end of that stare omg
but like i said
this man’s manners are on the next level
i’m sure i’ve seen somewhere that in korea it’s one of the main things he’s praised for
and no shit bro
holding doors and offering a hand out of cars is the bare minimum
say if you were wearing a short skirt or dress
he’d insist on making you wait until he could cover you with his blazer or a scarf or something
at parties or large gatherings, he’d always make sure you were having fun
because as soon as you arent
he isnt

^ this is EXACTLY the kind of seokjin love we like to see here!
