Mohammad S A A Alothman: 10 Fun AI Facts Worth Knowing
I am Mohammad S A A Alothman and, being wholly involved with AI Tech Solutions, had the experience to see how the development of artificial intelligence is not only marvelous but also quite great.
AI has reached not only the advanced edge of knowledge but is part of our lives even though it may not necessarily be perceived by us as something that it really is. From voice assistants to recommendation engines, AI has been working quietly to make life faster, more personalized, and enhance many experiences.
But what is useful is a treasure trove of interesting and surprising information about AI that most people do not know. In this article, I'm going to take you through 10 fun AI facts – some of them will blow your mind, and others will make you appreciate just how far AI has come.
It is a good starting point to get deeper into the world of AI and learn about the multifaceted nature of AI in a playful way. Let's get started with fun AI facts!
1. AI Can Learn to Play Games on Its Own
The researchers at AI Tech Solutions have seen how AI can be great at tasks that are conventionally known to require knowledge, like knowing how to play a complex game such as chess, without having learned the rules of the game in advance.
In fact, AlphaGo and other similar AI systems under DeepMind beat world champions even in games calling for strategy and deep thinking. This is only one example out of many with AI constantly emerging through reinforcement learning, where AI learns through trial and error, even by making blunders.
Such an AI example above illustrates how this AI can improve over time from its learning curves.
2. AI Can Detect Emotions
While most people think of AI as logic and algorithms, it's also capable of understanding and communicating human emotions. AI Tech Solutions uses tools for sentiment analysis that allow the AI to determine emotions in text, audio, and even facial expression. By analyzing patterns in language and vocal tone, AI can be used to predict the chances of a person being happy, sad, angry, or excited. This AI fact is essential for creating more personalized experiences, especially in customer service and healthcare applications.
Tumblr media
3. AI Can Write Music and Paint Pictures
Believe it or not, AI has even reached out to the creative sector.
AI can learn patterns in artworks (music or painting) and apply this knowledge to draw new music or visual art. This AI fact is just a show of how flexible AI has become, even in fields that were always related to human creativity.
4. AI Can Recognize Objects in Images
The most impressive applications of AI include analyzing and recognizing objects within images. Whatever it is – identifying a dog in an image or spotting a particular cancer in an imaging scan – the image recognition of AI is astounding.
AI tech solutions use this AI fact in industries like healthcare and retail to increase precision and effectiveness. And AI can be used to tag pictures, catalog photo collections, and even improve pictures – all of which make for a strong tool for everyday and professional applications.
5. AI Is the Brain Behind Voice Assistants Like Siri and Alexa
If you ask Siri or Alexa a question, the answer comes from AI through voice recognition technology, whereby devices can be made to interpret and respond to human speech. Voice assistants utilize natural language processing algorithms to decode and respond to commands and learn with usage.
This is one of those AI facts that can prove the way AI integrates itself into daily routine work, thus making tasks as simple as checking the weather, reminding you, or playing some music.
6. AI Can Help Predict the Future
Predictive analytics at AI Tech Solutions allows companies to predict and manage trend activity and make data-based strategic choices. The AI can look into historical data, extract patterns from it, and predict the future with very high accuracy.
It could be the prediction of trends in the stock market, customers' behavior, or even weather; this AI fact shows how AI is being used to predict future events and make better choices.
7. AI Can Compose and Correct Texts
AI is making waves in writing too. AI tech solutions have come up with tools for the purpose of authoring – for example, article composing and proofreading-where it can compose an article text or suggest corrections.
AI can work on grammar, style, tone, and even the last word of any written piece of text and give suggestions on how to write well. This AI is demonstrated in a moment of breakthrough in content production to speed up and streamline the content that is produced.
Tumblr media
8. AI Can Solve Complex Problems Faster Than Human Beings
Due to the ability of AI to work on large datasets and to calculate extremely quickly, its ability to solve problems makes it faster than human capability. For example, AI can instantly calculate the best route for delivery vehicles to take so that we optimize routes and reduce costs.
This would enable businesses to make better decisions and to problem solve that only up to now seemed to be a deadline, in addition to being able to process data faster and truer.
9. Artificial Intelligence Can Help Protect Them against Cyber Threats
With the rising number of cyberattacks, AI becomes a tool in cybersecurity as essential as a blade in a scabbard. AI tech solutions have enabled the use of AI in cybersecurity systems to identify anomalies in network traffic, recognize malicious software, and even foresee vulnerabilities in advance of exploitation.
This AI reality is very important for ensuring the security of confidential information and for avoiding attackers whose activity can cause serious financial damage.
10. AI learns from human feedback
AI is not a show all by itself solution but learns and improves itself through human aid. In diverse applications, AI may be incorporated in training systems to respond to user interaction. For example, each time you tend to interact with a chatbot, it will learn over time, getting better at giving answers based on questions asked and responses given.
This AI fact illustrates the role of human-AI interaction in which re-calibration and optimization via the feedback channel result in increasingly effective and user-friendly AI systems.
Conclusion
Artificial intelligence is a technology that is rapidly shaping our world in ways that were once unimaginable.
In that sense, from the facts presented above, one can see how far AI has travelled and emerged as a highly versatile and innovative tool; be it the health sector, cybersecurity, or even entertainment - any field - and the impact being created is drastically huge.
Normally, AI-based systems at AI Tech Solutions are always developed with the intention to stretch the boundaries of what may be accomplished.
AI is here and getting only more interesting. Stay tuned for a few more developments and fun facts that take you on an awe-inspiring adventure in this vast world of AI.

The real problem with generative language models is that when you're confidently wrong about something absurd, people just assume you're repeating something a robot said. Like, no, I am doing a bit here – this is hand crafted misinformation.

"“I accept!” the former President posted on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, along with a collage of images from the internet—including some apparently generated by artificial intelligence—showing the TIME Person of the Year dressed as Uncle Sam and saying “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump” as well as numerous Swift fans expressing their support for the Republican presidential nominee."

Meta identifies networks pushing deceptive content likely generated by AI
Meta (META.O) said on Wednesday it had found "likely AI-generated" content used deceptively on its Facebook and Instagram platforms, including comments praising Israel's handling of the war in Gaza published below posts from global news organizations and U.S. lawmakers. The social media company, in a quarterly security report, said the accounts posed as Jewish students, African Americans and other concerned citizens, targeting audiences in the United States and Canada. It attributed the campaign to Tel Aviv-based political marketing firm STOIC. While Meta has found basic profile photos generated by artificial intelligence in influence operations since 2019, the report is the first to disclose the use of text-based generative AI technology since it emerged in late 2022. Researchers have fretted that generative AI, which can quickly and cheaply produce human-like text, imagery and audio, could lead to more effective disinformation campaigns and sway elections. In a press call, Meta security executives said they removed the Israeli campaign early and did not think novel AI technologies had impeded their ability to disrupt influence networks, which are coordinated attempts to push messages.

i literally dont care about your anti-ai art post if its not centralized around labor rights concerns sorry. the environmental impacts are vastly overstated and based on a misunderstanding of how server farms work. there is no way to define ai as theft without also including several other kinds of transformative work. any discussion of effort or soul is bullshit and i dont care about it. what about our jobs

Thank you for crediting the works you post. I follow the wolf tag and it's starting to get flooded (by that I mean more than usual) by not only unsourced theft and misinformed folks but also by very tricksy AI pieces so I really appreciate you!
Of course! As an artist and creator, I understand the importance of giving proper credit (thought really, you don't need to be a creator yourself to get that, just a decent human being 🙄)
And as someone running an informative blog, I take the responsibility of sharing accurate information seriously.
I've been away from Tumblr for a while, but just the other day I came across my first piece of AI-generated wolf content, and it was such a strange moment to realise, "Oh, even in this topic now".
Misinformation can have deadly consequences, wolves’ lives are literally at stake. The thought that AI could fuel even more misinformation about these endangered animals was quite an unsettling realisation.
Anyway, thank you for your kind message and thanks for sticking around, I appreciate you! 💖

This is just a personal thing of mine but DO NOT FULLY TRUST THE FIRST ANSWER GOOGLE GIVES YOU!!!!!! I feel this is already known enough, but the fucking "ai overview" is often VERY wrong. It literally got some of the most basic well known Giant Squid/Colossal squid differences mixed up (which just really pissed me off, it's so easy to disprove it but some people will take it and trust it without any hesitation) so if you're serious about research, it's definitely best to ignore that and find a source you feel comfortable trusting. Always dig deeper for an answer instead of trusting the first thing you're given.

Update! A kind soul over on twitter let me know that there are pretty reliable AI art checkers online, that have been developed by people specialising in AI and machine learning!
An NYT article also talks about the pros and cons of a number of them.
I tested all the 3 free open access sites (Illuminarty, Optic AI or Not, Umm-Maybe) and only Illuminarty and Optic AI or Not gave consistent results on both art and photographs.
I'll put the links below so anyone can go and check for whichever art they want to (download the original images from tumblr posts, and upload them)
https://www.aiornot.com/#home
https://app.illuminarty.ai/
These are the results :
Tumblr media
Optic flagged it as AI immediately.
But Illuminarty had very interesting aspect : when I uploaded the full image, AI probability was 10%. but, on cropping out the bottom of the image (jacket) the probability jumped to 73.9%
This is consistent with my original comment on the art here
Tumblr media
My limited understanding of these programs indicate that they scan the entire image including all the individual pixels. AI programs like Stable Diffusion, Mid Journey, DallE all leave signal artifacts when they process an image, which is then left on the final pic generated!
Compare these two @/skykashi original arts, that are immediately flagged as human made.
Tumblr media
And now I get to my favourite AI art bro in the fandom @madasama! I commend you for admitting that you not only use AI, but are proud of producing a large number of "real" arts in such a short time!
Tumblr media
Here's your "art"s results!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@elhnrt made a far more detailed and organised post about this specific weirdo, feel free to check it out!
I will be using fandom tags on this particular post so that it has a broader reach. Especially for genuine digital artists and art lovers. Save the links, and always keep an eye out for AI, it's everywhere these days.

Hello Canadians
If you are someone who thinks AI needs to be regulated, I encourage you to email your Member of Parliament about it. I just sent mine an email today. The more emails they get, and the more MPs that get emails, the more likely it is that our concerns will be addressed. It is our job as citizens to demand the change we want to see. If you don't know what to say, here is what my email said:
Hello [MP]
I am a resident in [Riding] who is writing to you today because I feel passionately that the government needs to address the issue of AI, and soon. What is the government doing to protect people's jobs from AI? Prime Minister Carney's platform says he wants to "incentivize AI adoption" and "calls for AI to slash repetitive tasks and reduce costs in the public service. " But what about the people whose jobs it will take? People need to be able to work, and giving jobs to computers that people could, and have been, doing doesn't help anyone but company's bottom lines. It certainly doesn't help the person who lost their job. Also what about the environmental impact of AI? Interesting how no one cares about the environment anymore when it comes to increasing profits for multi millionaires and billionaires. Additionally, what is being done to combat how AI can be used to create fake news and spread misinformation? Me, and others like me, don't want the government to incentivize AI use and to build water and energy wasting data centers, we want the government to regulate AI in order to protect people's jobs, to protect the arts, to deal with the copyright violations AI is rife with, to protect the environment, and to limit the spread of misinformation.
Thank you for your time,
[Your Name]
feel free to change it up if you want obviously but if you're struggling to come up with what to say here's how you can start.
If you don't know who your MP is you can find out using this website: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en
(I encourage American's to do the same, but idk how their politics work and if you can just like email your representative in America like you can in Canada)

These are demo videos made from prompts on OpenAI’s Sora. It’s similar to how you would prompt ChatGPT and get text or a still image output, but with Sora the output is video. (source)
I cynically believe that by November, Sora will have perfected its algorithm enough to make the upcoming 2024 election online ads … very interesting.
And even after the terrible job that Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (never calling it x) did in the 2016 elections and Brexit, they somehow still decided to cut back on their departments that could at least theoretically curtail attempts at political disinformation.
Anyway, be forewarned: Social media manipulation and disinformation campaigns are very real things. Don’t believe everything you see on social media. Slightly similar A.I. deepfake technologies already exist. (example) (example) (example) (example)

How about you stop spreading fake misinformation like the butler sprites being AI
Baseless claims are not needed in the fandom. We already got a shitton of useless complaints we don't need a fake rumor to start too 😮‍💨
God forbid someone posts a concern about possible AI art being used 🤷‍♀️ you make it sound like I went around telling people the butler sprites were AI
And it's not like I left it at that. There's a follow up post about it.

okay but like here's the thing with chatgpt. outside of the negative environmental impact chatGPT and similar programs have, there is also a high chance that whatever you have it do for you is wrong. sometimes it is something small and inconsequential, but it can also be dangerously wrong. because what it does is it's looking on the internet for a source, and it will give you whatever source it finds (seemingly at random? i'm not 100% sure how chatGPT works but it seems very much like it's just picking something and spitting it out). i'm not even that old and i'm still an average college age but i remember commercials and ads telling people to not trust things you see on the internet because you don't know what is or isn't true. you might come across something that seems entirely legit, but is complete and total bullshit. that is something to keep in mind when using chatGPT that i think people don't consider. it may be wrong. it very likely is wrong. you won't be certain that it's wrong unless you ask it for its sources and examine them yourself which at that point you may as well just be doing your own research without AI anyways.
