Searchable Pie Menu

After thinking about it for some time, I've decided to split Pie Menu Search into its own mod, as it's not just a tweak but an entirely new functionality. More info here

I've tried to make the search experience as intuitive as possible. For example, computer interaction "purchase additional home."

Searching for "purchase," "additional," or "home" will display this result. Similarly, searching for partial matches like "pur," "ad," or "h" will also show it.

If a search returns only one interaction, pressing Enter should select it - unless it's an option that expands into more interactions, in which case nothing will happen.

The search box should stay active at all times unless you click elsewhere, and it doesn’t close the pie menu. In that case, you can refocus the keyboard by closing the pie menu and clicking the object again, or by clicking the interaction with the ellipsis button.

This mod adds searching for pie menu interactions.

Usage guide This mod is similar to Smarter Pie Menu mod for The Sims 4 • To search, simply start typing while the pie menu is open.

1. Searching for Interactions

• You can search using full words, such as “purchase,” “additional,” or “home.” • Partial matches are also supported. For example, typing “pur,” “ad,” or “h” will still display relevant results. • Even searching with multiple initials like “p a h” will return the correct interaction.

2. Selecting a Search Result

• If your search returns only one interaction, pressing Enter will automatically select it. However, if the interaction expands into more options, pressing Enter will not select anything to avoid unintended actions.

3. Keeping the Search Box Active

• The search box remains active at all times unless you manually click elsewhere. If you lose focus from the search box, you can easily refocus by: • Closing the pie menu and clicking the object again. • Clicking on the interaction that includes the ellipsis button (...).

NaNoWriMo Journal Day VI

Soooo new day, new me…

At least, that's what I had to tell myself, when falling asleep last night. There was a mean thought spiral wanting to drag me down… but it kinda worked. I am feeling better again after waking up. So that's nice~

After the tub, I didn't write too much, which isn't really surprising. Hot baths tend to take my energy, yet they are important for me to relax and loosen my too tight muslcles.

Todays To-Do list, will be some house cleaning, to cut down on my efforts during editing. But luckily thanks to two insanely productive two days behind me, I don't have to hit a super high word goal any more~

But First… Daily Challenge. After writing a lot of dialogue yesterday, which is usually the part I feel almost as uncomfortable with as with action scenes, I decided, to go for some action again~ This time a chase ;)

Four hours later…

I am a bit drained, managed to write 1757 words today… but I wasn't expecting stellar numbers. My mind is a bit preoccupied and I stumbled a lot, when I had to research stuff, which tore me out of the flow… sighs

Soo… time for a break… good thing is, I still hit my daily goal, which has sunk to a bit below 1100 words a day… so I am confident, I will last through this challenge and definitely hit the 50.000 words within a month…

What I am more worried about, is that I won't be able to wrap the story up nice an neat in that amount of writing… so it's very likely I will surpass this number while working on the project…

The goal, in the end, is to write a book, that can stand on its own, to increase the chances of actually getting a book deal… but we'll see… For now, I wanna continue writing and fleshing out this story..

I forgot to post this yesterday….which is why I do this now… had a huge dip in motivation last night and drew a bit on a picture for a friend..

Sooo Song of the Day (yesterday) Taylor Swift - …Ready for it?

Why is it on the playlist? First and foremost… it has an ellipsis… And I personally love to use the … interchangeable with a comma too just place emphasis. Also the aesthetic of the music video is just EVERYTHING… I mean the cgi is a biiit cringe by now. Still when it came out it hit me with the weight of a freight train, because the way captured Taylor is swirled by all the lights at one point… I sweat that's an image I daydreamt of for at least a year or so before the video came out… and it is also a huge part of what inspired me to write sci fi in the first place… So yeah… Taylor Swift… she's awesome!

Rika realised she was fucked, apporximately two seconds later. One second after the womans eyes had locked on her, half a second after she had recognised the Japanese dragon tattooed to the left side of her face, winding down from her forehead over the cheek and scar. She didn't even look for the eyes mods, indicated by inset power lines powerlines across the cheekbones, she admired at the bar. Nope, she just turned and ran. Legs pumping beneath her, skirts pulled up so they wouldn't tangle up and trip her. Pushing aside hapless pedestrians and evading automatic rickshaws, the redhead wound her way back through the crowded Kyoto streets, hoping to escape the pursuing enforcer. She hadn't even seen the enhance body move or make any sign of pursuit. But the prickling in her neck, the second wave of irritated shouts behind her, was indication enough. At a crossing, Rika took a sharp turn left, already feeling the burn of exhaustion creep down her legs and up into her chest. Her throat and lungs burned like fire and she could feel a metallic taste on her tongue. The fear kept her going, running, escaping. No telling what would happen, if she caught up. Maybe she'd be just shot, or pushed down somewhere, making it seem like an accident. She had seen something not for her eyes. And even if she wasn't going to say anything, all kids growing up around these parts of Nihon knew, the Shogunate wasn't trifled with. The fear of disappearing, of vanishing into the jaws of the dragon, of the world turning on, like she had never even existed in the first place, it let her push trough the pain, let her run, even in an unpractical gown, not minding the delicate hairstyle and the insanely expensive adornments, of which half had already been lost to the chase. Only when she recognised the street she was on, the familiar sign of Kamara's tea parlour, she allowed herself to slow. Enough to not crash right into the counter, when she bounded inside and evade the older woman in the process of serving tea to a group of customers, but not enough to pause and explain. "Rika? What th-" But Rika couldn't explain, she didn't even hear the last of the sentence, instead rushed on, up the narrow stairs, through the bedroom and out the narrow balcony door. Only when reaching the roof, hidden on the slope towards the backyard, she allowed herself to stop, lying down, feeling like her lungs had been exised with a blunt spoon.

No, no, it's alright. Honestly, the ellipsis one is annoying when done wrong.

Allow me to be your English teacher for a moment here.

Mod hates it when say, for example, a character is upset, and all they put is ... without saying anything else. This bugs me so much because they're using an ellipsis so wrong. If you want to show that your character is not responding or is silent, then just say, "[blank] didn't say anything. They stood there silently."

An ellipsis is either meant for a pause effect, an unfinished thought, a run off/tailing off thought or dialogue, or broken dialog.

Ex: In the dense fog, off in the distant stood... The Grim Reaper!

Ex: "I know this is bad, but..."

Ex: "My toy... it broke." Cried the small girl.

Anyways mini incoherent rant over.

Needless to say, I’m quite excited at the prospects of a Smash Bros. game that includes every flippin’ fighter from previous games.  It does make me wonder how much content we’ll get in terms of the music, stages, and storyline (if there is one), but it’s still an intriguing thought.

It’s based on the podcast of the same name, and it’s about an old-timey detective and his... perky girl detective partner, and how they first met.

I haven’t been following Pokemon very much lately, so let me just take a quick look at it...

Hmm.  Gameplay-wise, it seems like it’s playing the nostalgia card for the sake of older Pokemon fans, but even so, I like how the music sounds, how the multiplayer system works, and how much more real they’re attempting to make raising Pokemon.  If I had one of those real-life Pokeballs, I’d probably be petting it all day.  As someone who isn’t a hardcore Pokefan, I’ll withhold judgment of it until I see more, but I’m guessing its popularity will mostly depend on which features the developers decide to focus on (hardware, gameplay, graphics, etc.).  Who knows?  It might end up being great.

I’m also waiting for the Switch’s price to go down a little before I buy one.  It looks pretty entertaining from what I’ve seen, but I’ll probably keep clinging to my Wii U until the Switch is within my grasp budget-wise.  I’ve also been a fan of the 3DS for a long time (true, I stopped using the 3D feature a while ago, but it’s still amazing), so I hope it retains its popularity for at least a little while longer.  The funny thing is, I was lucky enough to find a used one pretty cheap, but I still think it was worth way more than I paid for it.  Sorry for ripping you off there, Nintendo!

This blog was created by someone who called herself Ace Admin (a very clever name, in my opinion).  She later handed it off to a guy who called himself the Mod (short for “Moderator”), who ran it up until about a year ago.  At that point, he held an audition to pick a new moderator, and the winner was my good friend, who goes by The Modthorne, and she later allowed me to join her as the Co-Mod.  (We both picked those names for ourselves, by the way.)  The Mod said he was planning to stop by every now and then to answer a few letters, but we haven’t seen him in quite a while, so the blog is now run by the two of us.

However, as I mentioned before, it’s really the writers who provide “fuel” for the blog.  We’re just the pilots.  We hope you’re enjoying the ride so far!
