and even when i read ouizzy or sprizzy or fang/ivan/izzy fics etc where izzy is happy while stede and ed are doing their own thing, i'm always a little sad in the back of my mind like 'ed and stede... they don't know?? they don't know the love of izzy?? no kissing first mate??? :((('

(don't get me started on how difficult straight up stede/ed fics are to dig through sometimes, i love the ship to death truly i do, she's the main girlie, but forget crying over where izzy is in their dynamic, i gotta go Entire Work and CTRL+F search izzy's name throughout the fic just to make sure his character isn't getting massacred disney villain style before i get invested in a 50k+ fic at 2am)

my ideal world is one where stede/ed/izzy have sorted their shit out, izzy and frenchie are music boyfriends, izzy shacks up with lucius and pete sometimes for some kissing bitching and gossiping sessions, and izzy and fang have cuddle sessions on the regular

all this ofc alongside archie/jim/olu/zheng's whole thing, whatever frenchie and wee john have going on, lucius' thing with fang, and jackie's continuing recruitment of new husbands to join the swede

Zevran: No, it does not bother me. I mean, I am not opposed to having sex, should you ever wish to try, but sex is best when done well and when all parties can enjoy that time together. Our arrangement is a change of pace from what I'm accustomed to, I must admit, but it is far from being an unwelcome change. I am surprised, I have to say. I find it nice to simply spend time together without expectations of what "should" happen.

Astarion: You must have... urges, though.

Zevran: What am I? Some sex-crazed fanatic, unable to control my baser hungers?

Astarion: Look. All I am saying is that, given everything, you seem very comfortable with sex, more than I am at least. I almost envy you for it.

Zevran: Don't. I am comfortable with it to an extent, yes, but I do not expect you to be. Whatever "urges" I have, I can handle them on my own.

Astarion: So you say, but you mentioned that you have been in an arrangement with multiple partners before. Are you sure you would not prefer...?

Zevran: I would not. I do not think that would benefit either of us in this situation.

I think I finally figured out what exactly is bothering me about all these "Halsin's inability to commit is a symptom of his past trauma with the drow" posts. The subtext to basically all of these analyses that I've seen is that he would want commitment in absence of that trauma, that amatonormative/mononormative commitment mimicking or at least adjacent to monogamous commitment is the default and preferable state for his character (read: for any character). That is, at best, a deeply incurious reading of the character that neglects 1) his own stated nuanced feelings about his confinement and 2) his clearly declared preferences about how he conducts intimate involvements.

It's just... as a polyamorous person who empathizes a lot with what Halsin has laid out as his very clear preferences, seeing all this is. Not fun! It's a little too reminiscent of everyone I've ever dated who was convinced they could Change Me Through The Power Of Love. Halsin's feelings for the player character are not less valid for having priorities that don't include cohabitation.

Startin it off with the bestest boi’s!! They’re real new so not much lore yet, but they a silly duo that balance each other out. They’re basically the opposite twins dynamic, so Poly has a very chaotic design while i tried to keep Mono simple.

Conjoined au name is in the workshop, but a few idea’s are things like Chrome au or Palette au

Dear monogamous people

Before you start dating a non-monogamous consider this: We're not your go-to when you're single. We're not into casual automatically. It's not always about the sex - doesn't even have to involve sex overall. It's about connecting. It's about love. It's about the freedom to love.

Being interested isn't enough. You need to understand your own responsibility when you're dating someone who isn't monogamous.

Dating with the purpose to convert someone from non-monogamy to monogamy is as bad as if we were forcing non-monogamy on you guys.

Be clear about your intentions, your boundaries, your view on the relationship. Communication is the key.

If you've had bad experience with non-monogamy reconsider how much it affects you in the present situation. Are you truly desiring to try out non-monogamy again (knowing the situation might be different) or are you just purely ignorant about it at the moment because you're on cloud nine? Falling in love with someone doesn't equal you're practically going to work as a couple. Just because they are poly it doesn't mean that they're okay with simply cuddling and sex.

Don't date or even be involved with non-monogamous if you can't handle their choice of relationship-lifestyle. We deserve commitment, respect and honesty as much as monogamous counterparts.

honestly, i don't see a lot of positivity for mono/poly relationships but like, i've never had friendships as deep and fulfilling as those i have with my partner's other partners! there's something truly special about bonding over loving the same person in a space where jealousy and competition isn't a thing.

their other partners and i aren't dating, but that doesn't mean i don't care about them or love them too.

I know exactly what you're talking about, anon. Bonding over loving someone is a truly beautiful experience, and making those friendships with a lack of jealousy is so fun!
