Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
-The pink represents physical mutations. Being a color and tint that immediately draws your eyes to it, it's one of the first features you'd notice and recognize. Likewise, physical mutations are the one first noticed and most recognizable symbols of mutation.
-The green represents non-physical mutations. It' much more muted then the pink and placed on the opposite side of the pyramid, being completely hidden if you were to look at it from a hidden angle. However, like non-physical mutations, the green is always there, and are there times where it's just as visible as the pink.
-The yellow represents mutants that have been/are currently x-men members. The yellow is the other most noticeable color on the flag, as the x-men are one of the most recognizable mutant groups to any being on the planet. Regardless of both the potential good and bad the group may bring, it's important to acknowledge the individuals who were/are in the x-men, and celebrate them as how all mutants should be celebrated.
-The black represents the mutants that have been lost. Whether they were sick, killed, or passed peacefully, whether their voices could be heard by the world or not, their lives leave an impact on those who came after them. Even if their presence isn't always seen, it can almost always be felt, and you can still find their shadows lingering as a reminder of tragedy, but also one of hope.
-And finally, the purple represents all mutants and mutations. It's a reminder that everywhere you go, present day or back in time, we're here. We've always been here, living day to day, around the world, in different eras, stretching out as far as the sky. There's been so many times and attempts to snuff us out, to rid us of our traits, to crush us into nothing, and we lived. We survived, and we keep surviving, even when the world wishes we wouldn't. We continue to share stories, to create art, to love, to cry, to embrace one another. We are the face of resilience, and we will continue to live as long as the earth breaths. And isn't that the most beautiful reminder of them all?
Bonus Fact: The flag shows a scene of a pyramid during the day, both as a nice visual, but also as a nod to the early mutant communities and individuals from Ancient Egyptian times, such as En Sabah Nur.
Anyways, sorry for the long post, got really into the typing mood back there :,] (good god my fingers hurt-).
I'll probably experiment with this flag again at some point, maybe change the colors around, but I'm pretty happy with where I got it 👍🏾
I went to (finally) buy Nyx #1, having only seen this cover.
BUT I'd never seen the variant and happened to have my mom with me. So when I grabbed the first version of Nyx #1 that I saw in store (the variant, I found the OG like a minute later), I was severely judged because the variant looks like this.
And I happen to be a sapphic human being.
With this, my mom goes "Oh so now I know why you were so excited about this. The hot girl on the cover." And I'm stumbling over my words in my attempts to explain what the comic is actually about, but I'm just as surprised as she is. This means that I'm blushing way too hard for any comprehensive summary.
Artists, you are hurting those of us who happen to be both awkward and attracted to girls at the same time.
I've taken some days off because I was slowly driving myself to another of my MANY burnouts. I've been rotting away, smoking weed, playing video games and having the usual existential crisis.
Oh and watching X-men 97 of course.
How AWESOME was season one???
🩵💙 SPOILERS 🩵💙
A lot of people say that it makes them hopeful for the MCU versions of Marvel Comics merry mutants, but it actually makes me anxious.
I had zero expectations, and Disney with the Kamala retcon (and the ensuing death of her comic counterpart, all in the name of the sacro saint "synergy") did nothing to help.
Expectations are dangerous.
I've been hurt before, and I can be a bitter b*tch.
What I'm saying is if the MCU x-men suck, expect never ending rants from me.
Surprise me DIsney. I won't be holding my breath though.
Oh and LEAVE MY COMICS ALONE YOU OVERGROWN GREEDY F*CKING MOUSE.
Also, Doctor F*cking Who and this legendary mise en scène/Character.

I have to go back to work next Tuesday, so I'm slowly trying to get back to a relatively normal sleep schedule.
Anyways, have a FANTASTIC weekend you absolute cuties 💙
[Leo is taking the fact that he was born biologically female simultaneously very well and also not so well but overall he’s mostly coping with the fact that it was Draxum that just essentially gave him the turtle equivalent of ‘The Talk’.]
Ps. Lee was 6 years old when Big Mama rediscovered him. Before she found him, the staffs all refered to him as ‘the turtle’, ‘it’, or the occasional ‘she’ because of their only reference of turtle yokai, Frida, is female. When Mama had him examined, the doctor said he was assigned female. He was in the closet for about a couple year or so, and came out when he’s around 8. He’s currently 15 years old.
