She’ll think Gabriel’s neglect basically ruined Adrien, so she would try to unenroll him from school and go back to homeschooling. She’ll also want nothing to do with the miraculous anymore, so she’ll forbid him from being involved with anything miraculous. Which is why she doesn’t care that she doesn’t have the peacock miraculous anymore and won’t look for it.

She also gives the butterfly miraculous to Cerise in exchange for her keeping an eye on Adrien and being his fiancé (since he broke things off with Kagami) EVEN THOUGH he’s dating/in love with Marinette (who she also doesn’t like). So basically she lets a strange girl who knew her husband have the miraculous and be evil with it so she can still have control over Adrien when he becomes an adult, through Cerise.

Emelie also is starting to like Natalie less and less, since while she was in the coma she was Adrien’s mother figure. She’s giving her more and more work so she doesn’t have the time to be with him. And she’s this close to firing her if Natalie speaks up against her will again, so she’s forced to keep quiet and watch Adrien be miserable.

She isn’t exactly evil, but she’s definitely an anatagonist and makes lots of decisions that are bad for Ladybug and other people in the name of Adrien’s well being.

So. Prior to the Squad, it’s highly likely that Jason hadn’t interacted with other people much/consistently since Arkham, and Arkham wasn’t exactly a good time to learn how to interact with people who weren’t intending to horrifically torture you for lols. Therefore, Jason would have likely needed to relearn (to a degree)how to deal with people.

So, I guess what I’m asking, is how much was Jason socialized, for lack of a word, by the Squad prior to Militia Time. Because Antoine is guessing he’s quiet because of Awkwardness, but he eventually relaxes a bit around them. And I bet a small group of people he sees consistently and frequently and can learn to trust as individuals is a good training run for dealing with large groups of people, where it’s not feasible to know all of them personally/deeply.

i do think it's interesting that even when knowing his future on mortis (hello vader foreshadowing to the point of just saying this is going to happen outright), anakin STILL turns to the dark side immediately. the Brother promises peace, and anakin's just like ok bet KNOWING who he is. I know it's to prevent the future he sees, which despite the Father's assurances, the audience knows WILL happen, but it's still telling.

also, love the parallels to RotS of anakin bringing balance to the planet by everyone dying. the Father, the Daughter, and the Son. Granted, he was only responsible for the Son's death, which is ironic in and of itself.

i find anakin to be the most compelling when he is struggling to find his way like in this arc. there is something unmatched about vader foreshadowing, it hits every time for me.

i actually think television in its truest form is episodic network television which is a dying art form but so so critical to the ecosystem. prestige tv and miniseries those ARENT tv. those are long films. those are complete stories that need longer than 2 hours to finish which is GOOD i love prestige tv i love miniseries. but we as a society need to band together around real tv like firefighters and sexy doctor and cruise ship threesome. because these are keystone species. you dont think about their loss or how it would affect us because you dont think about them. but their loss would be catastrophic

(also, if you can give him friends in comics canon, what sort will they be? thats always been a sore spot for me, that Bruce and the writers kept him so isolated that he doesnt have a lot of canon friends. no team. no consistent Crime Alley friends 😭)

Yes! There’s a whole crew of OCs that RH!Jason will interact with in Asymmetrical Warfare. In fact *checks notes*, at least two have already been mentioned by name. 😏

Developing Jason’s interactions in Crime Alley was part of my original plan for AW. I sort of got sidetracked by ninja!Jason and Carlos and the Grey Ghosts with Harm Reduction and TCItS, but we will make our way back to the Alley, I promise.

For comics canon Jason … that’s complicated. I actually love Jason and the Outlaws, especially the OG Outlaws, but the way they live in my head, not the crap Lobdell made canon. I’ve read a handful of fics portraying Jason as buddy buddy with some of the classic Gotham Rogues, like joining Wednesday Poker Night, etc., which I think is hysterical and pretty spot on. I also think Jason would have contacts and people he doesn’t call friends (but if you asked them, they would name him as one) from his LoA training days and his time as a merc. But we never really see that utilized in canon (that I’m aware of). And he would for sure be a fixture in the Alley community. As a character, I think Jay is primed to straddle multiple worlds, which I wish DC would take advantage rather than repeatedly trying to cram him back in with the batclan.
