astro notes: taurus season focus
Taurus season begins with the sun entering Taurus as Jupiter and Uranus align, promising an auspicious start. After a period of eclipses and Mercury retrograde, there's a chance to cultivate peace and presence. Venus in Aries before April 30 adds urgency to desires, but when it moves into Taurus, a sweeter, more attuned phase begins. The sun's crossing of Jupiter and Uranus' alignment on May 11/12 suggests reactivation of opportunities from the conjunction, potentially leading to confidence-building breakthroughs.

Energy Update: April 2025
Tumblr media
April is a "4" Universal Month [4 (April) + 9 (2025) = 13 = 1+3=4] in a "9" Universal Year. 4 Months are concerned with shoring things up and creating structure, which is very needed after a complicated eclipse season and two personal planet retrogrades in March.
The Set Up
We begin April with the Sun and Neptune in Aries; Retrograde Mercury, Retrograde Venus, and Saturn in Pisces; Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Gemini, Uranus in Taurus; and Pluto in Capricorn. There will be major planetary movements this month: the Sun enters Taurus (as usual), Mercury stations direct and then enters Aries, Venus stations direct and then enters Aries, and Mars enters Leo.
The Nitty Gritty
We know that everything is changing when every single one of our personal planets switches signs in a single month. We've been in a personal planet retrograde cycle since November when Mars entered his pre-retrograde shadow in late Cancer with only one week without a retrograde since. In April, Mercury and Venus station direct, and Mars finally exits Cancer for the last time in this cycle. This should provide some relief as, overall, the constant interpersonal shitstorm we've been experiencing since the end of last year finally begins to subside.
Neither of our three personal planets is out of their respective post-retrograde shadows yet, though, so we still have some ground to re-trace and re-imagine before we're entirely out of this storm.
Still, progress is being made.
Our Lights: the Sun and the Moon
As we pull away from eclipse season, the general energy will get much lighter and brighter. We may finally feel like we've entered the easy season of spring. Our Sun only makes two significant aspects all month long: a conjunction with Chiron in Aries, a reminder of the past, and a square with Mars that checks in on our future.
We're in the in-between all month long, and it shows.
The Sun in Aries sextiles Jupiter in Gemini on 4/6, which hints to us that good times are to come - Jupiter is in its exile in Gemini, and we've all been pretty down on our luck for a while now. Now, finally, Jupiter is making moves to exit Gemini, which will drastically improve the odds of anything good happening on this earth - stay tuned for this summer for this positive transition. For now, this sextile is a glimmer - a hint that something good is on the horizon.
Then, we get our first lunar event post-eclipse season, a full moon at 23° Libra on 4/12 that is tightly opposed to Chiron in Aries. This is highly significant if you remember a year ago when our total solar eclipse in April included a stellium of the Sun, the Moon, retrograde Mercury, and Chiron in Aries. This full moon will be a call back to that day, but from a different angle (full moon instead of new). What have we learned with a year to reflect on what was coming up in April 2024?
This last set of eclipses included an Aries solar eclipse, the last eclipse on the Aries-Libra axis that we will experience for the next thirteen years. We are rounding things out, and the endings may pour in hard and fast. This could be a triggering day for some - especially those with personal planets in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), and most specifically those found in the last decan that was affected by the solar eclipse a year ago and now this full moon as well.
With Chiron, our Wounded Healer, in play, this will hurt. This is by design. We live in a society that views pain as anathema, but often (in a body that is functioning properly anyway), pain is a signal that we should be paying attention. What is painful needs addressing during this full moon, and it might hit very hard at the core of your ego and who you think you are. This is also the day Venus stations direct at 24° Pisces in a close stellium with Saturn and the North Node, which will bring back some of the eclipse energy even though it's not actively an eclipsed moon.
Things might feel slightly out of control or fated during this time. It looks like the kind of day where the big flex is to hold onto your butt and try to enjoy the ride.
Our Libra full moon is an 8/3 full moon.
7 (Libra moon) + 1 (Aries Sun) = 8. 8 (Libra Full Moon) + 4 (April 2025) = 12 = 1+2 =3. The number 8 is an ouroboros, or infinity sign turned upwards. It often represents a rollercoaster of energy and emotions—ultimate highs and lowest lows, one right after the other. This energy signature is similar to erratic eclipse energy, which Venus's stellium is bringing into play. 3 is our base manifestation number. If you can ride these waves, great (magical) results await you on the far shore.
The Sun enters Taurus on 4/19, which will cause life to slow down a bit as we enter the season of our fixed earth sign. This is a time to sit back and enjoy what spring offers. We are seeing our first spring harvests of fresh fruits and vegetables, and spring flowers are fully blooming. Taurus season is a time meant for enjoyment as the sign of the bull can be, at times, downright hedonistic. As Mercury and Venus are finally in forward motion again, this is when we can rest a bit more and perhaps try to recuperate and recover.
With the Sun now in fixed Taurus, it begins to interplay with Mars in fixed Leo and Pluto in fixed Aquarius to create a t-square in our skies. This is where the shoring up of our "4" month energy comes into play. Although these three fixed signs are all in stressful positions with one another (the Sun squares both Mars and Pluto, who are in opposition), fixed signs have one thing in common: they all require a heavy dose of security to operate at their best.
If you are feeling out of sorts or shaken up by the aftermath of the eclipses and retrogrades, now is the time to take stock of what happened and figure out how to ground yourself into the now. Because it is Taurus season (fixed earth), dirt will be a significant ally during this time.
The Sun squares Mars in Leo on 4/20, a day to question where we are going and what steps we can take to make our dreams a reality. Think big, but map out tangible, achievable steps. The Sun squares Pluto on 4/23, which has the opposite effect: here is a day to think big and focus on what we can eliminate to lighten the load on our journey forward. (Mars directly opposes Pluto on 4/26, which is yet another day to focus on this t-square)
And finally, on 4/27, we have our first new moon after the eclipse season. This is, arguably, the best day of the month as the retrogrades have ended, eclipse season is complete, and we are finally at a new beginning in the oh-so-fertile (dirt fertile, you gutter-minded fools) Taurus. This is a perfect day to pivot in any way you need to and set goals for Spring and the year ahead.
Our Taurus new moon is a 4/8 new moon.
2 (Taurus moon) + 2 (Taurus Sun) = 4. 4 (Taurus new moon) + 4 (April 2025) = 8.
We can see that there is likely still some stressor here, brought in through the repeated "8" energy from the Libra full moon earlier, but we are getting somewhere. And, this day carries "4" energy that echoes the "4" energy of the month. Settle in and take real, tangible steps toward the life you want. And maybe eat some pie. Taurus loves pie.
Mercury
We are most of the way through our first Mercury retrograde of the year, which ends on 4/7 at 26° Pisces. After stationing direct, Mercury enters Aries on 4/16, the third big hit to 00° Aries, our major power point of 2025, and arguably the biggest hit of this point, Mercury-wise. Either of these dates is a powerful day for road opening, pathfinding, or any other type of Mercury magic you might wish to cast.
As Mercury enters Aries, they will conjunct Neptune and sextile Pluto. I wouldn't expect either of these events to be noticed or particularly eventful in and of themselves.
Mercury isn't at its best in Aries, but it is much better suited there than in Pisces, where it was both in its exile and detriment. We should all watch out for speaking out of turn or being too ego-driven in our opinions during this time. We're in post-retrograde territory from 4/7-4/26, so we might fall into that same old hole with miscommunications, whatever that means for you. I'd remind you to think before you speak, but neither Pisces nor Aries is known for doing that, so take that with a whole bucket full of salt.
Communication may finally settle more around 4/26 as Mercury exits its post-retrograde shadow. Notably, 09° Aries was the point of our solar eclipse in March, so things may feel a bit angsty and larger than life as we pass through this transition.
Venus
Like Mercury, Venus will round out the last legs of her 40-day retrograde journey as we enter the month of April. Until she stations direct on 4/12 under the light of the Libra full moon (ruled by Venus), we will be working to reform and rediscover how we interact with others. Venus always gets called the planet and romance, but that is overly simplistic - she rules over how we interact with others diplomatically and not-so-diplomatically. When Venus is well placed in the skies, interpersonal relationships tend to run more smoothly; when she is poorly placed, they are more likely to go awry.
Mars, our other relationship planet, was retrograde from December through the end of February, so we've been in this relationship hole for a while now. Times like this test the strength of our interpersonal relationships (big R and otherwise). Undoubtedly, there have been breakups and big reveals. It's been notable that both Venus and Mars have been poorly placed through each of their retrogrades (Venus retrogrades in Aries, the sign of her exile, and Mars retrogrades in Cancer, the sign of his fall). Everybody has been out of patience, out of time, and too emotionally strung out to be able to do more than the bare minimum for five months.
We deserve a break.
We will get one, but there's still more to iron out before we get there.
On 4/2, Venus conjuncts the North Node at 26° Pisces - this is one of THE fated moments in this retrograde cycle. Watch what comes up during this time or what disappears. This is your cosmic reminder that if a partner says they want to leave you, believe them. Move on with your fucking life. You deserve someone who WANTS to be with you.
Venus is exalted in Pisces, but she still has a shadow side, and that is emotional manipulation. This is a significant stellium between retrograde Venus, the North Node, retrograde Mercury, and Saturn. If Venus conjunct the North Node speaks of fated relationships (I use that term loosely here - no two people are meant to be together) - when you add in Saturn, this is the hammer of fate. Retrogrades are more indicative of endings than beginnings.
This is definitely break-up weather. I know every time I say that, I freak some people out. I want to clarify that breakup weather won't even slow down a couple who's well suited for each other and committed to working through their differences. It does show irreconcilable differences and sometimes forces someone's hand.
Venus retrograde is a reminder that sometimes, love isn't enough.
This is further indicated because Venus is about to make double trines to Mars, our other relationship planet. First, retrograde Venus will trine Mars in Cancer on 4/6, and then she will do so again while she is in Aries and he is in Leo next month. We can see the first as a test and the second as a reward for those who passed if you wish. Trines are overall positive, but a trine between Venus in retrograde and Mars in his fall is so-so, at best.
Then, just to be a stick-in-the-mud, retrograde Venus conjuncts Saturn at 25° Cancer on 4/7. I suspect this will be a hard day, especially for Venusian types (artists/femmes/all Taurus and Libra types). We are being asked to be mature about how interactions with other people - this will piss some people off, for sure. It's worth remembering that Venus in Pisces is the universal lover, she believes ALL people deserve more love, not just who you deem worthy. This can be a hard sell in a divided world.
Things will get notably lighter as Venus stations direct on 4/12, but we still have a lot of ground to cover on our post-retrograde shadows (Mercury, Venus, AND Mars), so we aren't out of the proverbial woods yet.
Venus will do the same thing all over again; she first conjuncts the North Node at 25° Pisces on 4/20 and then Saturn at 26° Pisces on 4/24. It's worth keeping in mind that for this entire time (from 4/1 to 4/24), Venus has only moved 2 degrees, and she has kept this tight stellium to the North Node and Saturn through April. This is where the real meat is, to be a bit gross about it - this is where the sausage is made. This has the opportunity to be a real revolution of the Venusian spirit, and all Venus types (Taurus or Libra Sun/Moon/Ascendant/Venus or Venus conjunct to these points) will feel it hard.
And heavy. Saturn is always very heavy and is amplified by the amorphous depths of water Pisces and the 12th house of the unconscious. If you have hard Venus work to do (and you feel comfortable working with her in retrograde), April is the time to do it.
Finally, on 4/30, Venus enters Aries once more. Again, this is a big hit on that 00° point I mentioned in the Mercury section. But also, Venus is in exile in cardinal Aries, the opposite sign to her home, Libra. Having her further from Saturn and the North Node will feel better, but only just.
Mars
We're a month out from Mar's retrograde cycles, and it's starting to show. Life might, finally, feel like it's starting to pick up speed. We have to deal with half a month more of Mars in the sign of its fall in mutable Cancer, but by 4/18, we are in the clear as Mars enters Leo.
It is over. It is over. It is over.
Mars in Leo is the epitome of the brave lion: perhaps a bit recklessly fearless, even. Do what you need to do - this is good energy, and we could use a fiery Mars placement after that watery mess - but be careful where you roar, if you know what I mean. Mars in Leo tends to make people extra territorial, and some don't have any chill. Take that as you will.
Mars will square off with the Sun and oppose Pluto, but those feel like death rattles, nothing more.
It's smooth sailing ahead - the day Mars enters Leo is the perfect day to do some Mars magic if you've been holding off on working with him while he was retrograde and in his fall.
Jupiter and Saturn
Jupiter and Saturn are making moves to exit their current signs (Gemini and Pisces) and will continue to square off with one another as they do so. This is part of an ongoing cycle that will continue until Jupiter finally pulls ahead of its slower-moving rival.
The only major transit (other than Venus conjunct Saturn, covered above in the Venus section) is that Saturn will conjunct the North Node at 26° Pisces on 4/14. This aspect happens every 18-20 years, so it's a big deal. This is fate meets consequence, plain and simple. These two have similar impacts; combined, they pack a life-altering punch. This is more likely to be felt on a societal level - I would expect to see some significant upheaval occur on a global or at least regional level around the middle of the month.
If you have a personal planet at 26° of the mutable or water signs or mutable lunar nodes, you might want to stay aware through this transit. There is a chance this could hit a bit closer to home. This could, for some, feel a bit like an extra-special eclipse season made just for you. That could go really well or really badly.
Looking Ahead
May is going to be downright pedestrian after the last two months, but there is one big change on the horizon: mid-month, Saturn will enter Aries, completing our first hit on 00° Aries that I have been on about all year long. That will change everything. We'll talk about this more in the May update.
The Details
4/2 - Retrograde Venus conjunct the North Node 26° Pisces 4/4 - Mars in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus, Mars in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces, Saturn in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus 4/6 - Sun in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini, Retrograde Venus in Pisces trine Mars in Cancer 4/7 - Mercury stations direct 26° Pisces, Retrograde Venus conjunct Saturn 25° Pisces 4/8 - Retrograde Venus in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus, Mars in Cancer trine North Node in Pisces 4/12 - Full moon 23° Libra, Sun conjunct Chiron 22° Aries, Venus stations direct 24° Pisces 4/14 - Saturn conjunct North Node 26° Pisces 4/16 - Mercury enters Aries 4/17 - Mercury conjunct Neptune 00° Aries 4/18 - Mars enters Leo 4/19 - Sun enters Taurus, Mars in Leo trine Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Taurus sextile North Node in Pisces 4/20 - Sun in Taurus square Mars in Leo, Mercury in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius, Venus in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus, Venus conjunct North Node 25° Pisces 4/23 - Sun in Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius 4/24 - Venus conjunct Saturn 26° Pisces 4/26 - Mercury exits its post-retrograde shadow 09° Aries, Mars in Leo opposed Pluto in Aquarius 4/27 - New moon 07° Taurus 4/30 - Venus enters Aries

29/3/25 ~ A Solar Eclipse in Aries
Tumblr media
~ exalting the darkness, the unspoken, the unfinished into the light, Spirit in our line of vision
ARIES - You will continue in managing to actively show through the choices you have made that it is possible to do what others once insisted could not be done. People who achieve mastery have the ability to be outrageous
TAURUS - Let your golden age begin! When you feel that you have reached the end, when life seems drained of all purpose.. well, what a wonderful opportunity to start all over again, to turn over a new page..
GEMINI - Remembering why you started, reigniting the fire where the dream first began. Though your changes are becoming conspicuous to others, so for now, keep them safe while you nurture them. You must discern what is wise and to be influenced by
CANCER - This eclipse magic is an ancient heirloom for you. This represents blissful change - the kind that feels like pure luck, though don't forget how you manifested this, through your inner shifting and transforming who You are
LEO ~ You have hidden away from change long enough, afraid of hurt - but you have been hurt anyway.. now hope is returning, and along with her, welcome back your courage, and prepare for your brand new days
VIRGO - You are releasing the pain. Now you have acknowledged your pain, and cried your heartbreak out, all will be well, once you realise the source of your confusion is your unbalanced emotions. Help is here. And will be with you soon.
LIBRA - There is the crackle of something imminent stirring within. An opportunity for talent to be recognised. You are being told that it is the law that you do so, now, and that you complete the work- work hard, learn about yourself, and capture the Divine moment - for all of our sakes
SCORPIO - You must take your place as a being who can survive, and support themselves, as another moment of coming into your power. Once this is done, you will be protected, cared for, and find the perfect protector and provider who is inspired by your independence and strength
SAGITTARIUS - The past hurt you. But it is over now. It is by your own hand the harm you suffer from is done. You hold the very knife that is inflicting the thousand cuts. You can put it down. Allow yourself to come back to us from this land of unburied pain
CAPRICORN - You who will now come closer to alignment with true Self, in tender form, will grow strong, and become powerful - but never a danger to all that is. You are proof of the beauty of this world, and its worth, and honouring yourself is to honour all Divine life
AQUARIUS - You will be protected as you move through a great transition. You will live fully again, and any who seek to harm you cannot come near. Your subconscious mind has the answer to that problem. Assume that it has the solution, and is waiting to reveal it to you
PISCES - This is atonement and re-balance. There have been some very sticky, unhealthy energies you have experienced. Don't feel empty, remember your magic. Insisting on being tough and distancing out of self-protection will only bring more of this cycle

big things that are coming
here are the next few astrological events i would consider extra serious, in case you like to mark your calendars or be otherwise prepared.
lunar eclipse in pisces - eclipse season kicks off in mid-september with a full moon in pisces. this can be an emotionally fraught period and can also include insomnia or strange/vivid/lucid dreams or nightmares. settle things a bit by establishing healthy daily routines without sacrificing the magic inherent in daily life. stick to those rituals at least until eclipse season wraps up, but you might find you like them so much they become permanent. if you already have such routines, also consider overhauling them around this time.
solar eclipse in libra - the volatility of eclipse season continues into early october with this new moon. you can set intentions here like you can for any new moon but don't expect them to follow the plan you lay out for them. and whatever intentions you do or do not set, relationships (and your relationship with yourself) are at center stage. and they are not meant to be easy, simple, or flowing in this scenario. but that doesn't mean they won't work out for the best.
jupiter retrograde - this retrograde is not like the other retrogrades. this is a benevolent retrograde. in libra season just after the eclipse in libra, gemini jupiter in its station may flare up appetites for the luxurious and pleasureful. you don't have to overindulge; it's a choice. but it's wise to make sure you are enjoying things in this time!
pluto direct - these things really do happen in a chain or a cascade. this station is just a couple days after the retrograde of jupiter begins. tumult occurs mostly on a global or geopolitical scale, but you may also notice some destruction (for better or worse) in your personal life in the window of a few days around this. then pluto heads back for aquarius for the last time.
saturn direct - the next retrograde ending is not for another month after pluto heads for aquarius. but stuck projects, goals, desires, and dreams start to get a little bit unstuck, even if really only a little bit. plans, disciipline, and patience are auspicious; attempting forceful maneuvers will backfire.

The Four Zodiac Signs That Will Be REBORN in September 2024
Tumblr media
LIBRA (Moon, Rising, Chart Ruler)
During September, Venus conjuncts the South Node in Libra, bringing about:
• Opportunities to let go of outdated beliefs or attachments, particularly in the areas of relationships, self-worth, and personal values, leading to a sense of liberation.
• Reassessment of how you relate to others, potentially ending old relationship dynamics that are not beneficial. This can feel like a “rebirth” as new, healthier ways of connecting and creating balance are established in your life.
• A deeper exploration of your personal identity, beyond your relationships, redefining who you are independently of others.
• Find new equilibrium in your life, shedding what disrupts your inner peace and embracing what promotes balance.
• This conjunction might bring people or situations from the past back into your life for resolution. This could be an opportunity for closure, healing, and growth.
PISCES (Moon, Rising, Chart Ruler)
The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 17th and the transit of Saturn in Pisces might affect you in the following ways:
• Heightened emotional awareness, deep insights, and the potential for significant release or closure.
• Profound emotional release or awakening, letting go of past emotional wounds, illusions, or attachments.
• Closing of a significant chapter in your life, paving the way for new beginnings.
• Bringing form and structure to your dreams, spiritual practices, and emotional world.
• A strong emphasis on developing boundaries and self-discipline. You may be pushed to balance your compassionate, empathetic nature with the need to protect your energy and establish clearer boundaries.
• A reality check! You may have to confront your fears, illusions, or escapist tendencies. This confrontation can lead to a major personal transformation and a clearer, more realistic vision of your future.
VIRGO (Moon, Rising, Chart Ruler)
With the New Moon in Virgo on Sep 2nd, Virgo Season, Mercury entering Virgo, and the opposition between transiting Sun and Mercury in Virgo and Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, you may experience:
• A powerful opportunity to initiate new projects, habits, or routines that are aligned with your goals for personal growth and improvement.
• A focus on self-improvement, clarity, and redefining your purpose, making it a perfect time for a personal "rebirth."
• An emphasis on rethinking and reevaluating your thoughts, communication style, and decision-making processes, refining your perspectives and adopting new ways of thinking.
• Confronting where you need to balance your desire for perfection with accepting life's imperfections and integrating more compassion & flexibility into your routines.
• Potential confusion or uncertainty but also the chance to clarify illusions or unrealistic expectations, seeing beyond your usual practical mindset and incorporating a more spiritual or imaginative perspective.
• Integrating more emotional intelligence, compassion, or spiritual awareness into your life, gaining a more holistic sense of yourself.
• Setting new health goals, establishing healthier habits, redefining your daily routine for greater well-being.
CAPRICORN (Moon, Rising, Chart Ruler)
As Pluto makes its final entry into Capricorn for our lifetimes, you may experience:
• A culmination of the transformative energies Pluto has been bringing into your life since 2008, marking the end of a profound cycle of personal and collective transformation.
• Shedding outdated identities, roles, or structures that are outdated. This shedding process allows for the emergence of a renewed, more authentic version of yourself.
• Letting go of rigid beliefs, societal expectations, patterns of control.
• Becoming aware of deep-seated fears or traumas that need healing. This is a final call to confront and transform these issues.
• Reconstructing your personal and professional foundations, building them on more authentic & stable ground.
• Pluto’s energy is about power dynamics, both internal and external. There is an opportunity for you to reclaim or master your personal power, learning to wield it responsibly and effectively in your life.

Pay attention because this is the beginning of our storyline to the Pisces/Virgo axis in our life! The Nodes will switch to these signs next after being in Aries/Libra for 1.5 year.
Lunar Eclipse is connected to past lives and connections to the spiritual realm in ancient studies.
This eclipse will conj Neptune Pisces! Remember Saturn is still in Pisces too! It’s opposing all of this Virgo energy and sextile Pluto and Uranus!
So what does this means?
-if you’re a creative, it’s the perfect time to tap into that creative space! Listen to some music that aligns with the energy you want to tap into! Let your imagination fly!
-pay attention to your dreams! The more you remember, the longer the message. Our dreams are like codes so this is good time to journal and decipher what they mean to you! Follow your intuition. With it being in Pisces, they’re going to be lucid and might not make a lick of sense so bare that in mind. Look up the meaning then connect them to your life
-if you’re into spirit baths, then take one tonight, release all the funk negative energies you felt throughout this whole summer! Connecting with water energy like bath, showers, drinking water, if you live near a body of water. Anything that will connect you to it!
-healing and more healing! You may have an epiphany during this eclipse. Maybe it’s something you didn’t realize about yourself
-some people may find out they’re pregnant or will conceive this eclipse
-hospital visits or picking up medications could be a thing. Scheduling a doctors appointment or confirming one
- mental health topics could a huge topic with this eclipse! What can we do as a collective to help those who are struggling right now?
-Pisces placements especially moons will feel it the heaviest especially the ones with 25°-29° degree placements. Mutable placements Sag, Virgo, Gemini with degrees 25°-29° will feel it too!!
-some people may start a new career or pursue one. Some might start to get recognition after hard work.
-some may change their diets or contemplate doing it
-you may reconnect with someone to clear the air and finally move forward in peace. Setting boundaries or removing yourself completely after saying your peace could be the main topic of conversation. Moving forward is the theme.
-there’s a strong sense of “I just want peace and quiet” energy.
-25° is an Aries degree! So the focus is really on ourselves and getting ourselves together! Standing up ourselves, starting over or something new, forgiving ourselves for our own past deeds by taking accountability.
Whatever house Pisces rules for you is how it will play out in your life. May this eclipse be the chapter to something good for you!

The Week Ahead: March 17-23, 2025
Executive summary: we’re in the shadow of the eclipse until April Fool’s Day, and Mercury & Venus are retrograde; the Aries equinox is on Thursday the 20th!
Lunar Phases
Tuesday, March 18, 08:01 UTC - Disseminating Moon, 13°03’ Scorpio
The key phrases for the Disseminating lunar phase are “teach, share, communicate;” and “ease up on efforts with our intentions.” Confessional vibes. Pay attention not only to boundaries, but to what is going on which side of the boundaries.
Saturday, March 22, 11:29 UTC - Last Quarter Moon, 2°05’ Capricorn
The key phrases for the Last Quarter lunar phase are “turn away,” and “tear down old structures that no longer serve us well.” We may be in a bit of a ruthless mood, and sometimes that’s just what we need to clear out the junk. We don’t want old business messing up our new business.
Void of Course Moon
Sunday, March 16, 09:53 UTC (Libra) - Monday, March 17, 07:30 UTC (Scorpio)
Wednesday, March 19, 19:28 UTC (Scorpio) - 20:17 UTC (Sagittarius)
Saturday, March 22, 06:53 UTC (Sagittarius) - 07:29 UTC (Capricorn)
Retrograde/Direct/Etc.
Pre-retrograde shadow: Pallas/Aquarius, Juno/Sagittarius (until Wednesday the 19th), Vesta/Scorpio (until Friday the 21st)
Retrograde: Mercury/Aries, Venus/Aries, Juno/Sagittarius (starting Wednesday the 19th), Vesta/Scorpio (starting Friday the 21st)
Post-retrograde shadow: Mars/Cancer, Jupiter/Gemini
Transiting Juno stations retrograde on Wednesday, March 19, 18:00 UTC, at 1°57’ Sagittarius. Partnerships and social justice issues go more internal, as we sort them out.
Transiting Vesta stations retrograde on Friday, March 21, 08:14 UTC, at 18°28’ Scorpio. We’re obsessed with something. What could it represent?
Transiting Venus has its inferior conjunction with the Sun on Sunday, March 23, 01:07 UTC, at 2°39’ Aries. This is like a New Moon for Venus, the beginning of a new Venus-Sun cycle. Take a few moments to process your values - as expressed via the arts, beauty, love, and money. What are you standing for?
Ingress
Thursday, March 20, 09:01 UTC - transiting Sun enters Aries
Happy Aries season! And happy spring/autumn, depending on which side of the equator you’re on. The impression I’m starting to get, is that we think we’re all ready to fight the 2025 battles - but we’re using tactics from 1525 (ie that don’t work any more). And we can’t quite figure that out.
Et Cetera
There is one Opportunity Period this week: Wednesday, March 19, from 08:38 UTC to 19:28 UTC. “Good for deep experiences and creativity, but we’re between two eclipses and Mercury is retrograde, so be practical and keep working on projects you have already started.”

Solar Eclipse in Libra 2024: Transforming Relationships
On September 28, 01:37 PM —
On October 2, 2024, at 2:46 PM EST, we experience the second Eclipse of this season: a New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse at 10º of Libra. This event brings renovation, transformation, and renewal into our lives and our relationships.
Solar Eclipse in Libra 2024: Transforming Relationships
Happening in the sign of relationships, harmony, and peace, the New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse calls for a radical transformation in the way we connect with others as well as in how we create and perceive balance, peace, and harmony.
In Libra, this Solar Eclipse represents an invitation for us to let go of old familiar habits and relationships that run their course, that have lost meaning, that prevent us from growing rather than supporting our growth. Only by doing so, will we be able to make space for new ones that are truly in alignment with who we are, who we are becoming, and who we aspire to become.
We already experienced a New Moon Solar Eclipse in the sign of the Scales about a year ago, on October 14, 2023. It is a powerful time to reflect on what was taking place in our life and our relationships back then, what intentions we set, what decisions we made, and how the past year unfolded, particularly in the area of relationships, both romantic and otherwise. We have an opportunity to acknowledge what changed over the past year, what didn’t change, and what we learned.
This New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra begins another six-month journey of transformation of our relationships and how we show up in them. This event is an opportunity to get clear about our needs and desires and about what needs to change in ourselves to manifest the relationships we aspire to have.
Sun and Moon conjunct Black Moon Lilith
The Sun and the Moon in Libra are tightly conjunct with Black Moon Lilith, the point of the Moon’s orbit further away from the Earth, also known as the lunar apogee. Black Moon Lilith is associated with the Dark Feminine and with facets of the Feminine that have been demonized, ostracized, and condemned for millennia. She has to do with the true, liberated expression of feminine sexuality and with our connection to our animal nature, instinct, and physicality, something we have been taught to hide, suppress, mistrust, and be ashamed of. Black Moon Lilith correlates to themes of personal empowerment and sovereignty, rebellion against external suppression, and the journey of recovering our trust in the body.
The connection between the Eclipse and Black Moon Lilith suggests that, during the upcoming weeks and months, there will be strong emphasis on transforming our relationship with our instinctual, wild, irrational, and untamed parts. This configuration calls for a renewal of our relationship with the Dark Feminine, with chaos, with our sexuality, and highlights the importance of choosing to live in alignment with our truth. The proximity between Black Moon Lilith and the Eclipse underlines the need to integrate Lilith energy into consciousness and bring her out of the shadows.
Sun and Moon conjunct Mercury and square Mars
The Sun, the Moon, and Black Moon Lilith are also conjunct with Mercury in Libra and square Mars in Cancer. The conjunction with Mercury emphasizes the need to embrace a new way of thinking about relationships and communicating in relationships. This aspect is an opportunity to recognize what needs to change in our thinking patterns, expectations, and communication to break free of dysfunctional cycles and create the connections we aspire to experience.
The square to Mars in Cancer highlights the tension between the pull of the past, familiar ways of forming attachments and relationships, and the desire to create new patterns and habits. This configuration underlines the effort it takes to heal childhood wounds in such a way that allows us to have different kinds of relationships, ultimately bringing awareness to the inner work necessary to move toward emotional maturity.
Solar Eclipse in Libra 2024: Relational and Emotional Maturation
Venus is the ruler of the Sun and Moon in Libra: studying her condition gives us more insight into the meaning of this event. Venus is now in Scorpio, forming a Grand Water trine with Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer, which is a very supportive configuration for our relational, spiritual, and emotional maturation journey.
Despite Venus being in the sign of her traditional detriment, which enhances the complexity and the intensity of the relational matters we are dealing with at this time, the Grand Water trine supports our ability to integrate what we are gaining awareness of and begin to establish new patterns.
Ultimately, the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra is an opportunity to drastically and radically shift ingrained relating habits while keeping in mind that only by embodying a new level of self-awareness will we be able to attract and be attracted to different kinds of people.

April 2025 Important Dates
Tumblr media
AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's April forecast. This month's forecast notes are a little late, due in no small part to the eclipse at the end of March--Chris and Austin wanted to record as far away from the eclipse as they could for electional & mundane reasons, and I in turn was too busy to sit down and take notes on the 31st itself or the following week! As such I'll be skipping the March recap for this month (interested parties can watch the video linked above).
Tumblr media
We entered the month fresh off the Aries eclipse, with its effects lasting into around the 5th of the month. The energy of major endings and beginnings in our lives is strongly in effect. Neptune has also just entered Aries after about 14 years in Pisces. Here's a visualization of "eclipse season" below:
Tumblr media
April 4th - Saturn sextile Uranus Experimental Uranus and careful Saturn rarely work together well, but a sextile might be the perfect aspect to help us balance new endeavors with what's tried and true. Mercury and Venus's stations next week in late Pisces will reactivate this sextile as well.
April 7th - Retrograde Venus opposes Saturn, Mercury stations direct Mercury and Venus have started stationing direct and have just barely begun to be visible after sunrise (after they were being obscured by the eclipse!). Venus will emerge from the underworld to a place of power in her sign of exaltation, while Mercury isn't in as good shape--Pisces is their fall and exile, so if communications clear it's still a lot of work. Austin says Mercury "returns from the underworld confused and hungover to a bunch of weird emails."
April 12th - Full Moon in Libra, Venus stations direct The first lunation after eclipses will really start to bring things back to normal, especially with Venus going direct into a place of power in her exaltation. With Venus ruling the Moon, things should be set up for going forward and healing, but Mars in Cancer is still throwing a tantrum in the background, firing some warning shots before he enters Leo. Here's the chart:
Tumblr media
April 16th - Mercury enters Aries
April 17th - Mercury conjunct Neptune
April 18th - Mars enters Leo Mars was last here back in the fall before retrograding into Cancer and bringing a cranky, childish, conservative mess to us the last few months. Mars in Leo brings us show masculinity and bravado, as well as bravery and showmanship. It can be admirable or obnoxious, depending on what you've got to show...Mars just gives you the energy! Mars stationed at 06 Leo before beginning this retrograde, so we'll be revisiting events as he retraces his steps through his post-retrograde shadow (which ends on May 1st). Cancer placements will be happy to know we're finally getting to the end of this Mars retrograde cycle:
Tumblr media
April 19th - Sun enters Taurus This launches us into an upcoming T-square with the Sun (♉), Mars (♌), and Pluto (♒), further lighting up and complicating the Mars-Pluto energy elaborated below (April 26th).
April 20th - Sun square Mars
April 23rd - Sun square Pluto
April 24th - Venus conjunct Saturn
April 26th - Mars opposite Pluto Mars opposed Pluto right before the US election, the second pass around the new US Congress sworn in and the terrorist attacks in Las Vegas & New Orleans (as well as the possible source of the LA fires) on New Year's Eve/Day, and this upcoming transit is the third of the series. Mars's violence is amplified out of proportion by Pluto, giving us senseless violence and annihilation. We'll already start feeling this when Mars enters Pluto on the 18th...
Mars-Pluto makes us very aware of and irritated by power dynamics, both overt and subtle, real and imagined.
April 27th - New Moon in Taurus
Tumblr media
The Moon getting involved further intensifies the Mars-Sun-Pluto T-square discussed above, though within a few days this starts to separate and the intensity fades.
April 30th - Venus enters Aries Venus is finally passing the last of her post-retrograde shadows, with Mercury completely clear and Mars well on his way out. April is the time to wrap up all of this unfinished business. Venus and Mars retrogrades give us big resets for the next year and change ahead.

bouncing off of this hc a little bit.
the ophiuchus isn't a 'thirteenth gate', it is a black key. one of twelve, all of whom are older than the current iterations of the golden zodiacs. because they were the golden zodiacs.
to start near the beginning: zeref and anna didn't create the eclipse gate. they found uncompleted schematics for it and finished it. its first creation was thousands of years earlier. it was the turning point in time, causing a distinction of 'before' and 'after'. 'before' being 000x, with 'after' being x000.
the twelve golden zodiacs and their masters were the ones spearheading the creation of the gate, but there were plenty of silver keys that had helped in secret. they wanted to go back in time and stop a particularly devastating war from wiping out too many humans.
all was fine, with the celestial spirit king either none the wiser or purposefully turning a blind eye--no one could tell. until they needed to activate the gate. that was the main part of the schematics that were missing, and anna heartfilia learned that all twelve of the golden gate keys could sustain it without any sacrifice.
that was not known in 000x.
ophiuchus was known at the time as 'pisces'. a daughter and her father, for every iteration of pisces has to be a duo of some sort.
the daughter sacrificed her unwilling father to open the gate. two became one.
the only reason she is called anything other than 'the disgraced pisces' is because yukino agria has the current pisces key. and it is... not quite forbidden for the current zodiacs to interact with the black keys, but it's certainly not looked upon highly.
aquarius sacrificed his and his master's weapon and the plans to make more. one that was a fusion of celestial steel and mortal iron. a harmony between the two realms, destroyed forever.
taurus spilt the blood of his master's lover despite multiple orders not to. there was no compulsion to follow the order. no magic binding his will to his master's. now there is.
sagittarius threw his horse into the spell. two became one, once again.
gemi and mini split themselves in half and sewed one half of their bodies together, using the other halfs as their sacrifice. they shared one head, fused two halves of a brain into one, and only had two arms and two legs. they kept one heart for themselves.
cancer and her master had built the gate in their estate, purposefully drawing the magic circles big enough to swallow the grounds whole. a family house, cut out of existence.
virgo dressed her masters up in the prettiest of celestial clothing. she fed them well and with ingredients gathered from the celestial realm. they drank from the milky-way and feasted upon the stars. and she tied them up like hogs and left them within the consumption circles.
aries took the prized statue he made for the spirit king and ripped it from their realm, letting it break and shatter across the marked circle.
scorpio made a deal with his new master, one that came about after the gate began construction. an elderly widower ill with heartbreak. if he helped with the creation of the gate, scorpio would ensure that he meets his husband in the afterlife. a promise he was unable to keep, for the gate took hold of everything given to it and did not let go.
capricorn gave up his own body. he transferred his consciousness to a goat and used his magic to mold it into a humanoid shape.
libra gave up everything that was hers. her home in the realms, her magic, her symbol. she became little more than dust until her master helped her succeed at gravity magic.
leo had no master. he had no home in the realms, no art that he mastered, nothing in particular that he could give up. except for the one that gave him this freedom. his human wife. and their daughter. and their granddaughter. he wasn't able to use the granddaughter in the sacrifice--his daughter had a vision mere days before the gate was finished and sent her daughter to an orphanage.
the gate didn't work. it took and it took and it took, but it did not rewind time. the celestial spirit king, who saw all that was fed to this faulty device, knew he had to do something.
he banished all twelve of the golden zodiacs from the celestial spirit realm. this was long before he knew how to bar them from the stars, however, so the most he could do was rip them from their constellations and keys and place them within a new part of the sky. place them within darkened keys that had another part to them--a magical and mechanical piece that had to be near the keys in order for a summoning to work.
for pisces, it was a flower that the father gave to the daughter before they were golden. the very one that rests within yukino agria's hair, that changes color and is never destroyed.
despite the many millennia that separates them, the current iterations of the golden zodiacs can still remember parts of their first lives. not the contexts, not the reasonings, not the minutiae of it all. just little snippets.
loke wasn't as surprised as he should've been when karen died. he's always had the resolve to kill his masters, after all. he's just thankful that he feels remorse for it this time. he's grown since that first life, with his heart and his little philea's blood on his hands, a distant and cold sense of triumph barely remembered.

astro notes- libra full moon & eclipse 🌕
Tumblr media
MARCH 25TH- The Libra full moon shines a light on our relationships, urging us to release doubt and uncertainty. As we transition from the Equinox into Aries season, a new cycle begins, marked by the fast-approaching total eclipse on the Aries new moon. This eclipse season acts as a powerful catalyst for change, offering us the opportunity to realign and detoxify our energy.
The Aries-Libra axis highlights the dynamic interplay between individuality and partnership, self-expression and cooperation. These opposing forces challenge us to find balance within ourselves and in our connections with others. It's a time for deep introspection and transformation, as we navigate the delicate dance between independence and interdependence.
Eclipses are not to be feared but embraced as gateways to resolution and new beginnings. They offer us a chance to shed past karma and step into our higher purpose. As Carl Jung teaches, life emerges from the spark of opposites, and the Lunar Eclipse in Libra reminds us to harmonize polarities to experience a more vibrant existence.
During this eclipse cycle, observe your experiences and reflections, noting any shifts or realizations that occur. Embrace change and complexity, turning problems into powers and paradoxes into pathways to growth. As we navigate these cosmic currents, may we find balance, harmony, and a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness.
Aries Rising (Libra 7th House - Aries 1st House): This eclipse highlights the need to find balance in your relationships (7th house) while asserting your individuality (1st house). You may experience shifts in your partnerships that encourage you to take a more assertive stance in expressing your needs and desires.

You may feel a strong urge to expand your knowledge or share your ideas with others, leading to new opportunities for growth.
Virgo Rising (Libra 2nd House - Aries 8th House): Finances, values, and self-worth (2nd house) come into focus, along with shared resources and deep transformations (8th house). You may need to reassess your financial situation and how you share resources with others, leading to a more profound understanding of your own worth.
Libra Rising (Libra 1st House - Aries 7th House): This eclipse highlights your identity and self-expression (1st house) as well as your partnerships and relationships (7th house). You may experience a shift in how you perceive yourself in relation to others, leading to a greater sense of balance and harmony in your relationships.
Scorpio Rising (Aries 6th House - Libra 12th House): Health, work, and service to others (6th house) are emphasized, along with spirituality and subconscious patterns (12th house). Energy Update: March 2025
Tumblr media
Note: All dates in this report are in EST (-5UTC) until 3/9, where they become EDT (-4UTC)
March is a "3" [3 (March) + 9 (2025) = 12 = 1+2=3] Universal Month in a "9" Universal Year. 3 is a manifestation number - in 3 months, we begin reaping the rewards of the months before it. The potential for this does show up astrologically, but it comes with some major caveats as we enter both retrograde season and eclipse season at the same time. Things are changing, and it's going to happen fast.
The Set Up
We begin March with the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in Pisces, Venus in Aries, Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Gemini, Uranus in Taurus, and Pluto in Aquarius. There is a LOT of planetary motion this month: the Sun, Mercury, and Neptune will both enter Aries, and Mercury and Venus will both retrograde and move backward into Pisces. Notably, these planets will be moving across the border between 29° Pisces and 00° Aries - either in forward or backward motion. Read this for more context about what is going on.
The Nitty Gritty
March is THE liminal month of 2025, including two personal planet retrogrades and our first eclipse season on the Pisces-Aries axis. Adjustments will have to be made, and it may appear like the future is unknowable until we've gotten through the thick of it. In times like these, we often need to go back to the basics and focus on the minutia in our lives, all of the things that help us get through the day-to-day.
The Lunar Nodes and Eclipse Season
The lunar nodes aren't bodies in the sky. Instead, they are mathematical points indicating where the Sun must be in the sky to fall into alignment with the Earth and our Moon to create our eclipses. Over time, this point moves through the horoscope wheel, showing us the area of life that will be highlighted during each eclipse cycle. For the last year and a half, the Nodes were in Aries and Libra, and we were forced to confront our biases around individuality and togetherness. In January, the Nodes moved onto the axis of Pisces and Virgo.
Pisces and Virgo are both signs of service. From a wide enough viewpoint, Virgo is the fixer in the horoscope - its job is to serve the physical side of humanity. On the other hand, Pisces is the enlightened dreamer who serves the spiritual side of humanity. The two nodes can be read like a compass, pointing toward the North Node and away from the South. In this way, we are getting a cosmic nudge towards spiritual service over the next year and a half.
Now, in March, we are entering eclipse season. Because this is the first eclipse on the new axis, we have mixed eclipses: our lunar moon is in Virgo (the new axis), but our solar eclipse is in Aries (the old axis). This is very in line with the energy of the month, a mixed bag of Pisces and Aries energy as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune move across the boundary between these two signs. We are both stuck in the old (Pisces) energy and heading into the new (Aries) energy by the season, but it works oppositely with the eclipses where the old (Aries) is making way for the new (Virgo).
Pisces can have a bit of a savior complex, but it comes with a timely cosmic reminder. Trying to save some but not all people likely damns everyone. To be a true savior, you have to be willing to save EVERYONE, even those that are unsavory or you deem undeserving. The North Node in Pisces is a profound reminder that all of us - every living being on this rock drifting through space - are in this together, whether we want to admit to it, or not. On a long enough timeline, what happens to one of us happens to all of us.
You may see climate change more in the fires raging through the American West, but it affects everyone.
You may see that the Trump administration's actions are affecting America, but they will affect the whole world.
Elaborate as necessary.
It's too early to guess how this iteration of the North Node in Pisces will show up for us, but it's coming in hot (eclipses always do). Standard eclipse season advice applies: expect the unexpected, and trust what is showing up in your life during the two weeks between our lunar eclipse on 3/14 and our solar eclipse on 3/29 - eclipses have a way of realigning us with where we need to be in life, the best option is to let it happen. I will write more specifically about the upcoming eclipse cycle soon: stay tuned!
Venus
Venus retrogrades on 3/1 at 10° Aries. This is our second biggest news of the month, after our eclipse season, and it's a pretty big deal, as personal planet retrogrades often are.
Venus rules love and relationships, as we all know, but she also rules pleasure and the getting along half of interpersonal relationships. She is in exile in the cardinal air sign of Aries, the sun sign opposite of one of her two domains, Libra. Where Libra is all about relationships and connections to the people in our lives, Aries is about independence and setting out on your own. You can see why this energy does not vibe well with Venus. This is an especially touchy subject as we have just exited a lunar node cycle on the Aries-Libra axis, and will be highlighted around our lunar eclipse on 3/29, which is our last eclipse in Aries for the next twelve years.
We rely on Venus to be our planetary negotiator, and with her retrograde in Aries, she is doubly out of order. This means it will be doubly hard to find peace or strike an accord—both on the global level and in our personal lives. We can expect everyone to want to be Number 1; nobody will give an inch. The best-case scenario is this stalls out essential conversations that can be resumed at a later date. The worst-case scenario involves escalation...
Unfortunately, we've had a poor alignment of personal planets since early December when Mars stationed retrograde in Leo and Cancer. Mercury will also retrograde at the same time as Venus. We've got a couple more months where it will be hard to get along with the people you actually like, let alone those you aren't as fond of. This is the astrological weather; we have to live in it.
This can be remediated, but it will take a lot of self-awareness and heart energy. The more you can stay in your own heart energy—even when your Others are not in theirs—the easier your relationships will be. You love this person, after all. This doesn't have to become a fight. People who have unresolved relational trauma are going to have a more challenging time with this. Standard Venus retrograde advice applies: do not start or end a relationship while Venus is retrograde. It's not likely to stick.
That said, retrogrades of Venus and Mars are definitely breakup weather. You shouldn't worry about that if you are in a committed, loving relationship. Situationships, though? All those shitty off-again-on-again things? That couple who lives to fight it out? Venus and Mars retrogrades test the stability of all of our relationships, but most people notice it the most in romantic ones. Expect some restructuring. Things you thought were long resolved may surface for further exploration.
As Venus moves backward, she conjuncts Mercury on 3/11 and then the Sun on 3/23 - this will intensify and focus this interpersonal energy. Mercury may force us to think things through, and the Sun tends to shine its light on what we've been ignoring. By 3/26, Venus is sitting at 00° Aries (see more about this here), and on 3/27, she has moved backward into 29° Pisces to conjunct Neptune. This carries all of the energy of our pasts returning to haunt us - exes of all varieties might come out of the woodwork during this time. I'd say, "Don't Do It" - you aren't there anymore for a reason - but I know everyone needs to learn that for themselves in their own way.
It won't last, but that's a lesson all on its own.
Neptune has a way of pulling the wool over our eyes; as the modern ruler of Pisces, it is why many Pisceans seem to move through life with rose-colored glasses. What glitters is most definitely not gold during this time. Buyer beware. I hope you signed a prenup. Apply that liberally wherever it works in your life.
If you're chasing waterfalls, you might be in a rude awakening as Neptune enters Aries on 3/30.
The big flex through all of this is to remain kind. I don't say "nice" here on purpose. You don't have to be nice, but it always pays to be kind. Many people are going to go through it during this retrograde, and if you are paying attention, there will be many chances to step around their shit instead of getting into it. Stay in your own lane and tend your own heart. Know enough to disengage when it's not about you.
Venus retrogrades for 40 days (that...always reminds me of Jesus, but I digress), so this is a long transit, and it's not going to feel good for anyone. That is by design. While Venus is in Aries, people will want to fight it out; while Venus is in Pisces, people are likelier to stick their heads in the sand. Eyes wide open make transits like this a lot easier. Retrogrades are designed to help you retrace the steps in your life and course correct, work with it rather than against it, and there are many rewards at the end of this cycle.

But wait, there's more!
On the day Venus retrogrades at 10° Aries (3/1), Mercury enters their pre-retrograde shadow at 26° Pisces. These two are near matches to each other: Venus will retrograde from 10° Aries to 24° Pisces, and Mercury will retrograde from 09° Aries to 26° Pisces. We're about to get a double dose personal planet retrograde passing over the end of the horoscopes (Pisces) and the beginning (Aries).
Something needs to end during this time. Eventually, this is going to lead to a new beginning. But there's some work to do yet before we get there.
Mercury retrograde is business as usual; it happens 3-4x times every year. The overlap between Mercury and Venus's retrogrades is not uncommon - it happened two (Venus) retrogrades ago, between 2021 and 2022. To have the entirety of Mercury's retrograde occur inside of Venus's in both time and degree is highly unusual and notable. We should all pay attention to 24° Pisces to 10° Aries. This astrological double whammy crosses over the most critical point in the horoscope wheel (the start of Aries). Notice how Mercury and Venus cross over 00° Aries thrice: once in forward motion, then back again in retrograde, and a third time in forward motion.
This is the secret to retrogrades, they comes in three parts: the pre-retrograde shadow, the retrograde, and the post-retrograde shadow. Any planets in our hot zone - in the skies or in your charts - are going to get tag teamed by Mercury and Venus. While they are both retrograde between 3/11 and 4/7 relationships are going to be rocky and nobody is going to want to talk about it. Maybe that will work to our advantage?
Time will tell. Or, it won't, because the memory will get lost in the liminality of Mercury's journey on the low road.
Again, I want to bring up the feeling of endings in the last degrees of Pisces that are impossible to ignore. This is the end of the astrological year (Sun in Aries, first day of Spring, 3/20), and these retrogrades, weirdly enough, coincide with Lent and are always a part of the late winter or early spring. If you are a Catholic, this is a time to pay attention.
It will be all mists all of the time. Metaphorically speaking. Expect technology and communications to be seriously on the fritz. Mercury likes coffee. Putting it out there because I find that my days during their retrograde always go better when I share my cup of coffee with them in the morning. My partner pointed out to me recently that this is a sacrifice, and I guess that it is.
For the first half of the month, we will be in Mercury's retrograde shadow, which means it'll be looming large ahead of us. We might not notice then when the fighting begins. Since Venus's retrograde coincides exactly with Mercury's pre-retrograde shadow AND we're headed into eclipse season, this might be a very underrated Mercury retrograde cycle. If you're a crafty magician, you might be able to find some interest in roads when our words themselves go unseen.
We will notice when Mercury enters Aries, I think - this is one of the big magic days I mentioned in my post about this rare opportunity we're having.
Things will slow down a lot as Mercury retrogrades on 3/15 (the ides, too, yet another death reference here, folks). When I say the Low Road here, I do mean the path humans cannot walk on and return. In Greek mythology, Hermes was the God who was able to enter Hades and bring Persephone back to her mother. See that death reference continues, and think about the earth coming back to life as we move into springtime. Beware, lest you too become a pillar of salt, I guess? Does that mean you aren't supposed to look back? That doesn't seem quite right...
If that is the path you need to travel right now, Mercury is your guide.
The Sun conjuncts retrograde Mercury at 04° Aries on 3/24 in a close stellium with retrograde Venus. If you are comfortable working with both Mercury and Venus in retrograde, this is a powerful day to take full stock of your life. Work the Sun and let Mercury and Venus guide you.
Finally, on the day of our last solar eclipse in Aries, Mercury drifts back into Pisces, the sign of their fall. This is yet another hit on that 29-00° point. Seemingly seconds later, Neptune enters Pisces.
By the end of the month, we might be feeling right and fully pickled by this double retrograde stew.
Our Lights: The Sun and the Moon
The Sun and the Moon got fourth billing this month - that's how you know that things have gotten really juicy up in here. We're rounding out Pisces season in the dark depths of a Venus retrograde and entering Aries season, which will light up our lives and that potent 00° Aries spot in all of our charts. Both our lunar events are eclipses. So yeah, its gonna be a lot.
The end of Pisces is power-packed right now with Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in a heavy stellium. The Sun will have to conjunct all three of these and our retrograde Mercury and Venus before it has gotten itself through this mess. And we are the Sun, metaphorically, in this equation. The Sun is the seat of light in our natal birth charts AND in our lives. The sun's movement in our skies changes our seasons, and we are entering springtime.
Before we get there, the Sun will square Jupiter (unlucky, generally) on 3/2 and trine Mars (energetic but also not great) on 3/8 but with so much going on otherwise, these might be unremarkable.
Our Sun conjuncts Saturn at 22° Pisces on 3/12 which reminds us - irrevocably - that hard times are hard. This is a call to action to step up, Saturn is a lot of pressure, but pressure is what makes diamonds.
The next day (3/12) we experience a total lunar eclipse at 23° Virgo, tightly opposed to the stellium of the Sun, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in Pisces. This is the real deal of eclipses and not one to fuck around with lightly. It's also worth noting that Jupiter is in a wide t-square to the Moon and South Node in Virgo and the stellium in Pisces. We should thank our lucky stars that Mercury and retrograde Venus are quite far away in Aries during this lunation.
That is enough. We don't need any more planets involved.
Our eclipsed Virgo Full Moon is a 9/3 Full Moon.
6 (Virgo Moon) + 12 (Pisces Sun) = 18 = 1+8 = 9. 9 (Virgo Full Moon) + 3 (March 2025) = 12 = 1+2 = 3.
It should surprise no one that this is a 9/3 full moon. Virgo full moons are always endings; they occur in the sign of Pisces. And this one holds the power of pure manifestation through the number 3. It's worth noting that three multiplied by itself is 9. This energy can be used forward or backward; you could work it to banish or end something significant in your life, create something new, or multiply your blessings. Remember that you want to set honest and reasonable goals because Saturn is no fool. Eclipse magic is wild and untenable, DNI if you're a control freak.
The Sun conjuncts the North Node at 27° Pisces on 3/17 which is going to be a huge check on our new normal. The Head of the Dragon is in Pisces now: are you being true to your own heart? Are you thinking about how that will affect all of us? How can you care for your physical self and be the wild and free creature your soul yearns to be? Pisces has a tendency towards martyrdom that is very likely to come to the surface as the North Node transits through our 12th sign. In its most mature form, Pisces is extremely altruistic and deeply caring for humanity as a whole. We need this right now. I believe that what happens to one of us happens to all of us, the more of us who can align with this Piscean energy, the more chance it will spread.
Our North Node in Pisces REALLY CARES. OUT LOUD. Probably in tears about it, but we can't blame anyone for that, now, can we?
I don't doubt that the whole fucking world needs to have a good old cry about what is happening in America right now. Because that's the Piscean Dragon lesson: we are not alone in this. What happens to one of us affects all of us. This earth really isn't that big. Not now, with near-instant communication, global travel, and nuclear weapons.
There are some deep holes we've gotten ourselves into. The world and, for many of us, in our lives. And we are going to tromp on them over and over again through these eclipses coinciding with these retrograde cycles. There's no way around it. Know it's coming, and shore yourself up the best that you can.
That's will mean something very different for everyone, and that's okay.
The Sun conjuncts Neptune exactly on 3/19 and enters Aries the next day. Happy Spring Equinox! We've made it through another astrological year. This is Sun in 00° Aries, the most potent of all of our 00° Aries days.
In Aries, the Sun makes an instant stellium with retrograde Mercury and Venus, and sextiles Pluto in Aquarius. This will likely create some turbulence and trigger much of what is coming up because of our double retrogrades.
And then, on 3/29, we experience our last eclipsed new moon in Aries in this lunar cycle. At 09° Aries, the solar-lunar conjunction is fairly far from the hard stellium in Pisces, but eclipses pack a punch whether they play with the other planets, or not. If you like to make big magical gestures and just let them go to let the universe do with it what it will, this is the day for you.
Our eclipsed Aries New Moon is a 2/5 New Moon. 1 (Aries Moon) + 1 (Aries Sun) = 2. 2 (Aries new moon) + 3 (March 2025) = 5.
Two is a connection number and fives can be used to break things apart, for good or for ill. I would forgo working with these numbers and go back to the basics of Aries/1 energy. This has strong fuck around and find out energy to it if that's your vibe.
Since this is the last eclipsed Aries moon for a while, you could apply it to what you've learned in the last year and a half while the North node was in Aries.
Mars
Mars is finally in forward motion, but still in its retrograde shadow in the sign of its fall, Cancer. He isn't hindering us much this month, but he's certainly not helping anything either. As the ruler of Aries (and in the sign square to Aries), he may prove a minor aggravation all month long. Thankfully, he doesn't square off with either of our two retrograde planets.
Neptune
By its nature, Neptune obscures so its often hard to pin down the effects of our nubulous outer planet. It is changing signs this month, though, which is worth noting. What will Neptune in Aries bring us this time around?
I think it's impossible to know except in hindsight. Neptune was last in Aries in 1875, too much of our lives has changed to even try to make predictions of its impact.
Looking Ahead
The second half of Aries season will be smoother than the first because we will finally be done with solar eclipses in Aries, and that is a huge relief. We need to move through the rest of Mercury and Venus' retrogrades, though, so we are not completely out of the water, it has just stopped churning quite so viciously. The eclipse hangovers may be long lived this time, but with the mists of Mercury gathering, its hard to tell as of yet.
