beside you, senku was mixing chemicals that weren't even provided by the class, he just brought his own. you noticed that his free strands of hair kept falling on his face and he almost dissolved them twice already.
"here." you took a bat hairpin from your hair and secured the strands so they didn't fly free. he thanked you and keeps his eyes fixed on the glass on his hands.
since he was assigned to be your lab partner, he keeps looking at your makeup and appearance in general in awe, but he hasn't said anything. at least he didn't have to be partners with taiju, but he is not sure how much of an upgrade that is, at least he could chitchat with his friend before.
"did you balance the equation already?" you ask and he shakes his head. you slide your notebook to his side and he sees a clean bunch of notes in your script that looks out of a victorian newspaper and at the end the correct answer. he looks baffled.
"are you secretly a nerd or something?" he asks and you shake your head, your v shaped bangs only moving slightly.
"no, i am openly one." you say leaning close to him just to spooke him. he laughs.
"then see yourself to this." he writes down something in your notebook and you look at it for a moment.
"this is a polar covalent bond." you tell him and he nods. he explains that it is the formula for the bunch of chemicals he is mixing. "so sulfur dioxide."
soon he is talking about chemistry and you agree to what you know and pay attention to what you don't. he asks you if you like chemistry and you nod, telling him that you might major in chemistry later on.
"are you trying to outdo the teacher somehow?" you whisper but he didn't answer, at least not verbally. the erlenmeyer flask on his hand erupting in some unknown substance that immediately expelled a smell, the smell of a match that was just struck. by that point in his career, the teacher has given up when senku outdo's him in his own class.
"you should join the science club." he mentions casually and you deny.
"i would, but i have other activities." you say taking the lab coat off once the class is over, organizing your hair and your necklace with a ruby that you always seem to wear, he keeps it on.
"what activities can be more exciting than science?"
"banging some drums." you say. senku notices that when you talk you move your hands a lot. he likes it. "i am in a band."
for some reason unknown to both of you, he keeps trying to bribe you into joining the science club, and finally suggests to attend one of your presentations in exchange for you checking out if you like the club. you laughed, being well aware of his eccentric personality even when you knew him from a short time.
"whatever, but hey, you won't like it." you shrug warning him in advance but he is determined.
during lunch, senku learns from taiju that you are friends with him and yuzuriha. taiju narrates how he and yuzuriha had seen you being "bullied" by some girls and they were going to step in to help you until they noticed you slipping a few mints from your bag on the soda you had just bought and bathing the girls with the explosion. taiju says that you remind him of senku somehow.
after school, you pass by the lab, keeping your promise.
“i actually hate our school uniform so much, the coat helps.” you mention when senku passes a lab coat to you.
“tie your hair, you don’t want it dissolving.” senku points to the bat hairpin that is still securing his strands and you smile at him. you tie your hair loosely. he is doing some unknown experiment like always and you pay attention to him with a lot of interest. “so what kind of music does your band play?”
“deathrock, occasionally hardcore.” you say giving him a beaker full of a mysterious liquid when he points at it. you didn't expect him to know what it is, and he doesn't. "what deadly experiment are you making now?"
"crystal candy." he takes out a little skewer from one of the glass dishes.
"woah, senku white." you clap and he shakes his head laughing.
"crystal candy, not crystal meth." he gives you one of the candies and you eat it. "ravens like shiny things, so i figured i might do this."
"raven is a compliment, you know?"
"10 billion percent i do."
you can't help but laugh. after hanging out a little more in the lab, you tell him you have to leave for practice and he says he might as well walk with you. during the walk, inevitably you ask him about his hair and he doesn't have any answers for you.
"i like putting my hair up." you say playing with your hair while walking outside of school. senku laughs and helps you putting it up but it doesn't stay up for long so you resort to organizing it back down. once you are at the door of the studio, you take out a sticky note, write on it and place it in his chest. "text me, don't be boring."
he does, and you reply once you are out of practice. you text each other all night, and the next day at school you spend lunch together. the conversation oscillates around chemistry, but he eventually asks about you.
"bela lugosi's dead by bauhaus is said to be the first gothic song ever." you mention after a quick rundown of goth history.
"who is bela lugosi?"
"no way... oh my god no wayyyyy." a clear reference to south park's michael that he doesn't get either. so after school you drag him with you. your house is odd looking, that is the first thing he notices, you tell him that is a brutalist construction of your mother's design as an architect and construction by your dad as an engineer. upon entering, you guide him to the basement where your room is. beside the clear decorations that account for a beyond-the-grave vibe, his eyes focus on the drum set on a corner. "we are watching 1931's dracula."
you turn off the lights and sit on the floor, playing the movie on the projector. senku sits beside you and watches the movie, paying attention to your annotations on the film. after watching the movie, you continue explaining the relevance of bela lugosi.
"so how did you become goth?" he asks and you can't help but laugh, you look through some papers on a drawer and take out a picture, a man and a woman pose with a familiar spooky face.
"my parents." you tap on the paper. "authentic trad goths."
"hereditary, i see." his remark makes you laugh. as he gives you the photograph back, he scans the books in the shelf, a lot of poe, shelly, lovecraft, those accompanied by books on chemistry and science fiction, and besides the books there are little jars with wet specimens and some bones. "what about those odd things there?"
"oh i made those." walking over to the shelf you pick a random one and hand it to him. "put the specimen on the jar, put some formaldehyde for about a week and then change it for isopropyl alcohol and it has been laying there since."
"is this like a casual hobby?" he asked taking a look at the jar.
"casual but safe." you pointed to the respirator mask on the floor. he nodded in approval.
he stayed around the rest of the day and you talked about anything and everything, going over what field of chemistry you prefer and his questions about the goth subculture. when it gets dark and the little window of the basement doesn't let in more light, you light up red candles and keep talking until someone barges in your room.
"i made some carrot cake, will you have some?" your father asks and you both turn around to look at him. senku immediately compared him in his mind to the picture you showed him earlier, but now the man looked like a regular adult. "well well, look what the bat brought."
"dad you are ruining my life!" you groan in annoyance and he leaves, only to come back with two slices of carrot cake.
"so what is your name? what are your intentions?" your dad sat in the floor besides the two of you and smiled through his questions. you hide your face in your arms but senku replies with his name, before he can say you are simply friends, your dad chimes in again. "ishigami like byakuya ishigami?"
"yes, that's my old man."
"what a surprise! mom and i went to school with him, you hear that my little egregore? we actually despised him because he was so cheerful but i secretly wanted to be his friend."
despite your embarrassment, you can't help but smile when you hear senku laughing, agreeing that it sounds like his dad. they talk some more agreeing that whenever byakuya is back from space, they can meet to catch up.
senku left your house once the clock hit 9, but once he is home you two keep texting. he doesn't want to admit it but he feels fascinated about you, not only out of fellowship for the shared love for chemistry but also out of his curiosity for your personality and appearance.
the next day goes like usual, you meet during chemistry class and like always senku outdoes the teacher. you pass by the lab during lunch and scare him after checking that he isn't holding some dangerous substance on a beaker.
"guess what?" you ask and he shrugs without any idea, so you pass him a paper with your approved application for the science club.
"this is excellent news, a competent addition to this madhouse." he smiles pleased and quickly you both get to tinkering with the equipment. "i am working on this gasoline I made out of plastic."
"did you desulfurize it?" you ask and he shakes his head, his heart skipping a beat at the chemical question. "for the sweetening we need wash the naphtha with amine, it needs to be low-boiling, then make it react with caustic. the first thing removes the hydrogen sulphide and the second helps with converting mercaptans to disulfide."
"exactly that." senku nods reaching for the beaker full of gasoline and the other one full of amine. "the hydrotreating part will be more challenging but we can take care of that later on."
you two get to work, he passed you a lab coat and after putting it on you tie your hair. he put the naphtha to boil at a low temperature and then had you wash it with the amine. the rest of the club members watch. it is a slow and delicate process, but you are done before the bell rings and you celebrate happily before returning to class.
after a few weeks of you going to the lab during lunch and after school, you leave when the classes are over. senku immediately notices, and despite the mockery of the fellow members of the club at his fussiness over your absence and his denial of even caring or even knowing who you are at that —exaggerated king—, he still sneaks out to the hallway and texts you.
raven: i am rehearsing silly, we have a show on saturday. 4:09pm
he sighed and walked back in the lab. he had forgotten about it even when you kept talking about the show your band was about to have. he made a reminder in his phone, and went back to work. during that week you didn't stay after school in the lab and he started to notice the lack of your presence, missing even the scares you would make sure to give him when walking in.
"are you nervous?" senku asked, saturday morning, sitting in the floor of your room while you did your makeup in the vanity.
"not that much, i am all the way in the back, privileges of being the drummer." you shrugged while drawing your eyeliner. out of all the outfits he had seen you wear, and your own goth rendition of the school uniform, that one was the ultimate, and made you look like a villain from a video game; he couldn't take his eyes away. senku kept evaluating your appearance, from your makeup that you were still doing, to your hair now puffed and teased, to your tall black boots.
"ruri and kirisame are here." your mom announced before letting the girls in. while one looked just as villainous as you, the other one was a blonde angel dressed all in white.
"these are my bandmates, ruri is the keyboardist and vocalist and kirisame is the guitarist. our bassist will be there on his own." you introduced them.
senku greeted both girls, while ruri waved happily, kirisame simply nodded and ignored the rest. once you are done with your makeup, your mom brings some food you all eat. you go over the songs and things about the band and senku simply listens, not knowing the terms you are using but inferring what they are about. and finally after some time, your parents call you to go to the car. senku noticed that both of your parents had switched to look more like the photo of them young so he asked to take a picture to show to his dad.
the venue was half empty when you arrived, only the other members of the bands and some people. you set the drum set, ruri tested the mic and kirisame adjusted her amp. senku watched how your parents took out a professional camera and snapped a few photos.
"so why are you here?" a voice distracted him, he turned around to see a guy his age sitting besides him. "you don't look like you belong here either."
"just a deal. you?" senku asked.
"my girlfriend is the vocalist. my name is chrome." proudly he said.
while everything was being set up, chrome told senku all the details. you knew ruri from music lessons and you two formed the band, she introduced the bassist, hyoga, who is her sister kohaku's boyfriend, and kirisame came from craigslist. eventually they ended up talking about minerals, but the show started. when chrome told senku to go to the front so they could see better, was when he realized how full the place was. the other band played first, so you stood besides senku, chrome and your bandmates, who aside from hyoga —who already got there—, were dancing to the music; you joined them in due time, swaying your arms in the air at the rhythm of the music.
"we are better than them." you whispered to senku between songs and he laughed immediately.
once their set was over, your band started. curiously, senku recognized the first song to be a cover of in darkness you will feel alright by horror vacui —despite his regular nonchalance, he noted down both genres you told him and checked some bands out, just so he wasn't completely clueless—, so recognizing the song made him feel good. the next songs were originals, and despite that the public enjoyed them just as much, dancing in the same odd way. senku's gaze, though, remained fixed on you, on the way you played the drums and how your head moved to the beat you were playing, the focused expression and the precise movements at hitting the drums.
"so?" you asked holding the rundown drumsticks in your hands once your set was over.
"that was really good, i am impressed." senku praised in an understatement. you smiled and he smiled back.
the next band played and at some point you grabbed senku's hands and made him dance, he frowned but didn't push you away, secretly enjoying it and realizing that ruri was doing the same with chrome who tried his best to dance but couldn't quite do it.
...
byakuya came back from space, and then came back from the u.s. senku refused to pick him up from the airport and you called him heartless. it was during the weekend so you were over at senku's house helping him in his latest project. he initially had also invited taiju and yuzuriha but since the confession by the tree they would have a date every sunday so they couldn't come.
"is anyone homeee!?" a voice broke in between the noises of senku's rant on his rocket, after a few seconds, the door opened and both of you looked up to see the man. you stood up to greet him, senku avoided his hug but he seemed really happy. "hello, and... you are?"
senku introduced you, not failing to pull up the photo he took of your parents and mentioning who they were.
"is like being back at school!" the man exclaimed. "what a time."
senku and byakuya caught up for a good while. after a some hours and eating lunch, at byakuya's odd enthusiasm and your confirmation that your parents were home, you all went to your house.
"if it is not the class clown!" your dad exclaimed once the door opened, byakuya seeming equally excited. they started talking immediately, your mom joining. senku and you stood listening to the stories of your parents and their school time for a little but got bored and left downstairs.
lately you had tried to teach senku how to play the drums but he was too bad at it so you both gave up, so instead you sat on the floor and started listening to music while talking about your childhoods, senku starting with his fascination for science and you with yours for the obscure and odd.
"i am skipping school on wednesday to go to a concert, let's go together." you suggested and senku agreed. on monday and tuesday you both worked in the lab, finishing hydrotreating the gasoline so it could be fuel to the rocket, and on wednesday, instead of going to school, senku walked to your house in the morning. he rang the bell but no one opened, so he rang again and after some time you opened the door, still in your pajamas, your hair messy but not in the usual way.
"i thought we were going to the concert."
"yes but later." you laughed and let him in. clearly you were still sleeping so you organized your room a little and cooked some breakfast, after eating you walked back to your room and he followed, sitting on the bed since the weather was getting colder as fall started, he sat besides you and you put a movie. at some point you were going to pause the movie to explain something to him, but when looking for the controller your hand brushed his. immediately your eyes met and then turned to look away. "well the chemistry is around..."
your joke broke the awkwardness and he laughed immediately. you explained your point and played the movie, not speaking about it, knowing there was no white foundation covering your blush.
the morning was slow, but eventually you started getting ready.
"can i put makeup on you?" suddenly you asked, halfway through your own makeup.
"no, i am perfect like this." his response made you laugh, but you asked again and he gave in, so you stood up from the vanity with a black eyeliner, walking over to your bed where he was sitting looking at his phone, you grabbed his face and tilted it upwards, ready to put some eyeliner under his eyes but you kept looking at his intense crimson gaze, and instead leaned in for a kiss, it was quick and you backed up fast.
"sorry..." you apologized turning around but he grabbed your wrist.
"i thought the lipstick was the last step." senku mentioned, having seen you do your makeup in an order that left the lips for the end. he turned you around. "what? my eyes reminded you of some shiny stone like this one?" he grabbed your necklace, but you stayed silent and wide-eyed, so he stood up and methodically pulled you in for another quick kiss.
"well i somehow expected it." you smile sheepishly still holding the eyeliner.
"ravens are very smart birds." senku shrugged and sat back as if nothing happened, and you sigh shaking your head happy and clean his black-stained lips with a wipe and apply some eyeliner under his eyes, like nothing happened too.

📜 Newly Discovered Academy Archive: The Doctor's Treatise on Romantic Love
During a routine Matrix archive review, an early academic work attributed to the Doctor was discovered. This document, written during their Academy years, was submitted as part of an advanced philosophical analysis—and graded poorly for reasons that will soon become apparent.
What follows is an excerpt from the Doctor's now-infamous treatise on romantic love, along with annotated feedback from their Academy instructor.
"Romantic Love: A Biochemical Delusion"
By Theta Sigma (The Doctor) of Prydon
Romantic attachment, often described as a profound emotional experience, is, in reality, a chemical process entirely explainable by neurotransmitters, genetic programming, and evolutionary necessity. While lesser species insist on assigning poetic significance to these interactions, a closer examination reveals that romantic love is little more than a predictable hormonal response with a limited functional purpose.
The three primary phases of this so-called phenomenon are as follows:
1. Lust – The Initial Biological Drive
Driven primarily by testosterone and oestrogen (or species-equivalent hormonal triggers), this phase ensures reproductive viability and promotes genetic variation within a given population. While lesser species wax poetic about "attraction", this can be accurately modelled through genetic compatibility analysis and pheromone response curves.
📍 Instructor's Note: "This is a compelling argument for a mating algorithm, not a philosophy paper."
2. Attraction – The Temporary Neurological Malfunction
Attraction correlates with increased levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, producing an effect not dissimilar to a controlled psychosis. Subjects display hyperfixation, impaired reasoning, and an inability to assess risk accurately. This irrationality is likely an adaptive feature to promote pair bonding, though it is demonstrably counterproductive in higher-functioning species.
📍 Instructor's Note: "Calling love 'controlled psychosis' is, at best, provocative."
3. Attachment – The Long-Term Stability Mechanism
Successful bonding triggers sustained oxytocin and vasopressin release, fostering long-term partnerships to ensure offspring survival (in species that require such support) or mutual security benefits (in societies where resource-sharing is advantageous). This process is entirely functional, with no inherent need for emotional framing.
📍 Instructor's Note: "This section is both well-researched and entirely joyless."
Conclusion: A Highly Overrated Experience
Ultimately, romantic love is a series of chemically induced inefficiencies that can be fully predicted, controlled, or avoided with the appropriate neurochemical regulation. It is an active impediment to logical function.
📍 Instructor's Final Comment: "Theta Sigma, while your analysis is thorough, it fundamentally misunderstands the subject. Love is not a mere biological equation; it is an experience, an act of choice, a force that defies purely chemical explanation. To study it purely in terms of neurotransmitters is akin to defining a supernova by its temperature alone—factually accurate, but wholly inadequate. C-."

Science Video Assignment | Chemical Bonding Animation
May 2021
This is really funny
Covid assignment where we had to make a video teaching a chemistry/science concept for grade 10 science. Had a lot of time on my hands, so I did a lil cute animation.
Notes throughout the video say it all 💀💀🔥

As a fellow nature documentary kid, I would love to hear more about your take on Omegaverse. Anything world-buildy with it
I have put way too much thought into this because I am a chronic world-builder, so there is a lot. It ranges from the biology and evolutionary reasons behind it, to how and why social constructs came to be.
[Character examples will be in context of Stranger Things because that is my current fandom]
Now to go into it under the cut.
Note: Male and female will be used to refer to assigned sex. Trans people exist in my omegaverse with the distinction between male/female vs man/woman being culturally better understood due to the existence of subsexes.
Evolutionary Origin
Subsexes are the result of a vestigial monotreme system that developed parallel to the eutherian system that humans possess. It was socially advantageous, but biologically detrimental, which is why parts of it were kept. As a result, male omegas are unable to get pregnant despite having an estrus cycle and being capable of lactating.
Subsexes
Alphas (Hopper, Steve, Mike, Lucas, Billy, Argyle, Chrissy)
The heart of the pack, alphas are usually extroverts who keep order and generally ensure all pack members are safe and supported.
Mostly male since female alphas have been historically unable to survive childbirth due to their pseudo-penis, which also makes vaginal sex tricky.
Social constructs resulted in the ideology that alphas are the ruler of a pack and should want to be dominant in their relationships.
Alphas go through annual ruts, a period of two to three weeks marked by a heightened sex drive and a decreased ability to regulate emotion.
A roar, also known as an alpha voice, is a loud, guttural vocalization. Despite popular belief, it does not force an omega to submit or obey, but does have a tendency to activate a fear response.
Happy, friendly, or comforting vocalizations include chuffs and rumbles.
Betas (Robin, Dustin, El*, Kali*, Jason)
The lifeblood of the pack, betas tend to be supporters and problem solvers who keep everything running.
Betas will often form a partnership with an alpha or, rarely, an omega. The bond is usually platonic, though it can be romantic.
An alpha or omega child may mature into a beta. They retain the personality traits associated with their original secondary sex, but do not produce any of the hormones involved in mating cycles and bonds.
Betas have an underdeveloped vomeronasal organ, which makes them less aware of pheromones and other chemical communications.
*On rare occasion, a beta is the result of subsex sterilization. These betas are even less capable of picking up scent queues, to the point they are unable to reliably identify subsexes.
Omegas (Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, Will, Eddie, Max, Murray)
The will of the pack, omegas are independent risk-takers who drive innovation and exploration.
Omegas are typically the first to leave their familial pack, sometimes with 1-3 other omegas to form a coalition. These groups are often the start of a pack.
Mostly female due to male omegas rarely passing on their genetics due to having a lower sperm count than male alphas and betas.
To promote loyalty to a ruler over pack and prevent rebellions, many cultures have developed the false idea that omegas are meant to be subservient.
Starting between the age of fifteen and eighteen, omegas start experiencing heats every 6-15 months. During the two to seven days a heat lasts, the omega produces sex pheromones and experience a higher libido. While omegas in heat and preheat are more affectionate and outgoing toward other subsexes, they may act aggressive toward perceived competition.
Omegas are the only subsex capable of purring.
Mates/Pairbonds
A pairbond is created when an alpha knots an omega in heat, triggering the production of primer pheromones, then bites one of the omega's scent glands, typically on the neck or shoulder. The pheromones from both partners, transferred through sebum and saliva, alter the other's hormone production to create the pairbond.
Pairbonds are renewed each heat. Two to three heats are enough to break the bond, though the addictive qualities of a pairbond can make this difficult to achieve.
Mating marks are the darkened patch of skin, resembling a bite mark, that occurs after a pairbond is formed. They fade when a pairbond is broken, but never fully disappear.
Feel free to send me asks or prompts on this.

MINIFIC: Oct. 23: Day 12: Burn (MLB, Lukanette, DLM AU)
I swear these weren’t meant to connect like this.  I feel like that bit in Hamilton, after “It’s Quiet Uptown”, when Jefferson comes out going “Can we get back to politics now?”  And Maddison is sniffling beside him going “PLEASE?”
For @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers October Minific Challenge 2023, though this one really isn't Lukanette at all. More...worldbuilding? We'll get back to the dorks shortly. 🖤
Read on Ao3
To Feel Alive Again: Ch12: Burn
Philece’s head tipped back against the soft cushions of her favorite wingback chair.  It was a luxury she had found in a secondhand shop back in the seventies, and while it had seen better days it was still the most comfortable chair she’d ever had.
She needed a little comfort that night.
She raised her cigarette to her lips, taking a long drag before slowing blowing it out.  She watched the smoke rise as she tapped the burning end against the lip of the ashtray on the table beside her, pretending she could see patterns in the wisps.  For someone like Marinette, she would probably be inspired to design flowing skirts and billowing tops, some artistic shit in hues of gray and blue and white.  The woman Philece used to be would see fractals, chemical bonds spinning to life in a vast universe she could never hope to fully comprehend.
The woman Philece was now just saw smoke.
A knock on her door drew her attention, and she sighed as she left her cigarette burning in the tray and went to answer the door.  She frowned when she opened it to find no one.  The sound of a heavy door closing down the hall alerted her to someone leaving the hall, and her eyes flicked towards the stairwell that would lead to the lower floors a second too late.  She hung her head, sighing, and paused when she saw a manila envelope on the carpet outside her door.
The daily assignments, delivered by a person from Upper Management she had never actually seen.  It was the same every day around this time.  She just hadn’t realized it had gotten so late.  A sticky note was on top of the envelope, and Philece frowned as she bent to retrieve it.
You don’t have to let them hate you.
Her lips pursed as she read the note, thinking of Fred and Marinette and how angry they had been at the morgue.  How hurt.  You could have changed the appointment, Marinette had said.  Accused.  Like Philece had done all of this just to fuck with her and not because she was just doing her job.
You could have changed it.
Except she couldn’t.
Because death didn’t work like that.
Philece didn’t assign the reaps.  She just passed along the information and made sure the job got done.  Whoever decided which reaper got which souls, that was above her paygrade.  She had never questioned it before, and she wasn’t about to start now.
The days of Philece Mendeleiev questioning the universe were long past, anyway.
She closed the door behind her and turned back into the flat.  By the time she returned to her cigarette, it had burnt out.  She dropped the envelope in the chair with a sigh.
She’d look at it in the morning.  After the past few days, the only thing Philece wanted was a nap.

3D Portfolio
1) Day one, video notes
Kurt Schwitters popularized collage, he used this technique as an extension of painting. His works are a German approach to the cubist and expressionist movement. However, Schwitters’ never became a direct follower of any movement. His ideals remain on his own experimental use and free to constantly change and be a radical figure in the art world.
Joseph’s Cornell’s work created scenes, narratives, mysteries stories, characters as well as having touches of music and movement. His works would create curiosity among the meaning of art in correlation to life directions. What are these objects speaking to you? What’s the symbolism to a greater, unspoken statements.
Louise Nevelson collected scraps of wood in the streets of NY, which she created large scale sculptures assembling these pieces together. Her sculptures are called assemblages. “A life that surpasses the life which they were originally created.”
A relief refers to a type of sculpture where a figure elevates/ elevates from a flat background/ surface . Low relief, stick out less from the surface and high relief sand out so well it looks torn out of the background.
Clay comes from eroded and weathered granite for millions of years, they are broken down into fine particles that slide into one another, wherefore, forming cay. If clay is compressed for years, it becomes a new stone named “shale” which can be grinned and  formed clay again. Clay is composed of layers of alumina, silica and chemically bonded water. Despite all possession these layers, different clays can vary in dosage, which affects the plastic.   Other rocks with similar compositions can also be eroded into clay: Gabbro and Basalt. They are all igneous or volcanic rocks, when magma from a volcano cools. In the wild, granite can be composed of quartz and mica, a shiny, flaky rock, which is historically used to create cookware because it can handle rough temperatures.

This was my first time working with clay, there was a lot of technicalities I had to learn such as "scoring" and more of the process adding elements to a flat piece of clay. The concept of Symmetrical and Asymmetrical components was not new to me, I have studied them in 2D, being mindful of negative space and repetition. In the Asymmetrical tile (right) was the first tile I did, there are elements added on top of each other, looking at it, I could've made the shapes less wonky and respected more negative space. The Symmetrical tile (left) was the second one I did and most proud of. I liked how I played with add ons and slight indentations in some of the shapes that created more depth to the object. The last step to finalize this project was glazing. Once again, it was my first time glazing and what I would change is the colors, I did 2 layers of one color and a final layer of another. I would also refine the way I applied it to prevent unwanted texture. Im overall satisfied with this first project and truly prepared me for upcoming assignments.

Learning how to carve was a skill I gained and took the liking to in this assignment. The objective for this piece was to lose the rectangular shape of the triangle into a more organic shape with three openings. As I started this assignment, I was doing really good but carved more than I had liked trying to make the soap lose its original shape. I was lost in the last step which was to "polish" with easy going strokes of the knife to get rid of the texture from the initial bigger and careless strokes. Despite my mistake, I loved making these soap carvings because it was a very satisfying and calming process, and wakes up the mind for creativity.

Title: T-Roar
"T-roar" was inspired in a duck shaped ink holder found in the Lowe Museum from Thailand's 14th and 16th century, using pinching technique to create a circular base shape and coiling to create the high top rim. I created the tiger head using the same skill as the peer caricature: grabbing a chunk of clay and molding it, creating space for eyes and adding small balls for the irises, once my shape was done, I proceeded to cut the head in half and hallow its inside to then spring it back together and adding into the pot and then I coiled a piece of clay and add the tail and spall teeth. Once my piece was leather hard, I used the same technique as my second cup and craved out the tiger stripes. I really enjoyed this museum inspired piece, and I believe I was able to put into test all my skills gained throughout this course.

FINAL ARTIST STATEMENT
a) Throughout this course, I explored various artistic processes such as additive, subtractive, constructive, and critical thinking. Each method gave me an opportunity to get better at working with clay. Additive allowed me to build form piece by piece (as seen on one my cups, peer caricature, tiger and the tiles), subtractive helped refine shapes by removing excess (as seen on one my cups, soap and tiger), constructive focused on assembling parts into a whole (as seen on tiles), and critical thinking pushed me to apply everything I have learned for a final assignment)
b) My favorite process was the additive method because I enjoyed the freedom of  building my sculpture and seeing it take shape. It gave me the most control and flexibility, especially when experimenting with texture and form. However, I did find myself struggling to keep the clay from getting too dry.
c) I would highly recommend this 3D course to others because it helped me grow more confident as an artist. I didn’t think I had the skills to build a 3D shape into a real life ceramics piece, but I was proven wrong. I really enjoyed getting my hands on the clay and shaping the distinct features on each pieces.

Are You Falling Behind in NEET Preparation? Here’s How to Catch Up!
Tumblr media
Preparing for the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) can seem like a tough and demanding journey. With vast syllabi, intense competition, and high expectations, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. If you’re worried about falling behind in your preparation, don’t panic. The key is to assess where you are, identify gaps, and take focused steps to regain control. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you catch up and move closer to your NEET goals.
NEET Training in Coimbatore
1. Assess Your Current Situation
The first step to catching up is understanding where you stand in your preparation. Ask yourself these questions:
Which topics have I completed?
Which subjects am I lagging in?
How effectively am I using my study time?
Take a moment to reflect and identify the reasons behind falling behind. It could be procrastination, lack of proper planning, or difficulty understanding certain concepts. A clear diagnosis will help you create a targeted action plan.
2. Set Realistic Goals
Once you’ve identified your weak areas, set achievable and measurable goals. Break the syllabus into smaller chunks and assign specific deadlines to each. For instance:
Complete three chapters of Biology in the next two weeks.
Solve 50 Physics numericals daily for a month.
Setting micro-goals ensures that you stay motivated and track your progress consistently.
3. Prioritize High-Impact Topics
NEET preparation is as much about smart work as it is about hard work. Different topics hold varying levels of importance in the exam. Focus on high-yield topics that are frequently asked, such as:
Biology: Human Physiology, Genetics, and Ecology.
Physics: Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Thermodynamics.
Chemistry: Organic Chemistry (Reaction Mechanisms), Coordination Compounds, and Chemical Bonding.
By mastering these areas first, you can secure a strong foundation and gain confidence.

4. Create a Structured Timetable
A well-structured timetable can help you manage your time efficiently. Dedicate specific slots to each subject and topic. For example:
Mornings for studying new topics.
Afternoons for solving practice questions.
Evenings for revision and mock tests.
Remember to include short breaks to refresh your mind and prevent burnout. Stick to your timetable religiously, and adjust it as needed to accommodate unforeseen challenges.
5. Leverage Quality Study Resources
Falling behind often stems from ineffective study materials or resources. Ensure you have access to:
NCERT Textbooks: These are the backbone of NEET preparation.
Reference Books: Use supplementary books like HC Verma for Physics and MTG Fingertips for practice.
Online Resources: Platforms like YouTube, BYJU’S, or Unacademy offer valuable video lectures and doubt-clearing sessions.
Focus on clarity rather than quantity. Avoid overwhelming yourself with too many resources; instead, stick to what works best for you.
6. Practice, Practice, Practice
Regular practice is non-negotiable for NEET success. Here’s how to integrate practice into your routine:
Daily Problem Solving: Allocate time to solve numerical problems, especially in Physics and Chemistry.
Previous Year Papers: Analyze past NEET papers to understand question patterns and frequently asked topics.
Mock Tests: Take weekly mock tests to simulate the exam environment and improve your time management skills.
After each test, review your mistakes and work on weak areas to avoid repeating them.
7. Revise Consistently
Revising is essential for retaining knowledge and solidifying concepts. Dedicate at least 2–3 hours daily to revising previously studied topics. Use the following strategies:
Create concise notes for quick reviews.
Use flashcards for memorizing formulas and key points.
Summarize topics in your own words to test your understanding.
The more you revise, the more confident you’ll feel during the actual exam.

8. Seek Help When Needed
Don’t hesitate to seek help if you’re struggling with certain topics. You can:
Join a coaching class or online program for expert guidance.
Collaborate with peers for group study sessions.
Reach out to teachers or mentors for clarifications.
Clearing doubts promptly ensures that you don’t carry gaps in understanding as you progress.
9. Stay Positive and Avoid Stress
Catching up on NEET preparation can feel stressful, but maintaining a positive mindset is crucial. Here’s how to manage stress:
Practice mindfulness or meditation to improve focus and reduce anxiety.
Stay physically active with light exercise or yoga.
Celebrate small milestones to keep yourself motivated.
Remember, progress matters more than perfection. Trust the process, and don’t let setbacks discourage you.
10. Focus on Health and Well-being
While chasing academic goals, don’t neglect your physical and mental health. A healthy body supports a sharp mind. Ensure you:
Get 7–8 hours of sleep each night.
Maintain a balanced diet with brain-boosting foods like nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
Stay hydrated throughout the day.
Good health will keep you energized and improve your overall productivity.

Top Strategies for Tackling Tough Chemistry Assignments
Sometimes, chemistry is a complicated discipline for many students. It requires practical skills and the ability to understand various theoretical aspects. If learners have to prepare a complicated chemistry assignment and they don’t know where to start or how to do it, they feel worried. However, with a proper approach, even the most challenging chemistry assignment can be easily resolved.
Top Strategies to Make Your Chemistry Homework Less Frustrating and Easier:
Understand the Basics
I think that the first step when you are about to do a chemistry assignment is to make sure that you have got your basics down. If you don’t know basic stuff – like the kinds of atomic orbitals, the types of chemical bonds, and what the basic organisation of the periodic table means – you really will struggle with more advanced topics. If that is the case, take some time to review your class notes and textbooks. Or give them a good read online. It will make doing chemistry assignments much easier.
Stay Organised
Structure: Have a system in place for your homework: keep your class notes, textbooks and any online resources concerning your chemistry in an organiser (for example, a folder or binder). Have a study schedule to allocate specific times for working on your chemistry assignments. Divide a project into multiple parts: it will become difficult to persist in your work if you stress over the size of the task.
Utilise Online Resources
Writing this first paragraph in 2017, I can point you to dozens of online resources you can use to figure out a homework problem in chemistry – sites such as Khan Academy, Coursera or even YouTube, which has over a million chemistry tutorials available in the free video-sharing service alone. There are also forums and public online spaces where you can post a question and hope to get an answer from others, either other students or actual experts. Asking a question of others can help you find a new way to think about the problem.
Practice, Practice, Practice
Chemistry is a subject best learned through practice. Try working through numerous practice problems and past exam papers. Check your answers from the back of the book, try to find the mistakes in your solutions, repeat the question until you are completely accord truly understand the components of the problem, truly understand the method.

Seek Help When Needed
Do not shy away from asking for help in case you do feel bogged down by your chemistry homework. There are usually tutoring services available in schools and universities. You can take help from expert tutors. In addition, there are several online platforms where you can get chemistry homework help. There is an endless stream of professionals who can help you with your chemistry assignments. All you have to do is to look online for chemistry homework help. For instance, typing 'Chemistry Homework Help online' will redirect you to professionals for help. Sometimes all one needs is a little personalised guidance to understand a troublesome problem.
Form Study Groups
Studying with classmates is one of the most effective ways to complete your chemistry homework. It allows students to exchange ideas, explain the questions, solve questions together, and learn from the strengths of the other person. For instance, in a study group, each of us can give a summary of the things we have learned. This helps the peoples achieve the goal of assisting each other to understand and effectively master the materials. Furthermore, peer studying can make studying more fun and address the issue of not working alone. Lastly, when we study together, we must pay close attention and minimize our movements to prevent ourselves from getting distracted.
Break Down Complex Problems
If you ever have a challenging chemistry problem that you have trouble solving, try breaking it up into the smallest pieces of the problem that seem feasible. Then tackle each component independently to solve it, step by step.
Use Visual Aids
View-Master 3D sliders aside, science, particularly chemistry, often presents concepts too abstract to visualise, a task where diagrams, charts, and models will be your friend. The need for them comes down to this: sometimes, you just don’t know right away where the information you’re looking for is, but carefully drawing out, say, a molecular structure or a periodic table, can paint a crystal clear picture of the problem at hand. Additionally, visual aids can act as crutches in some cases – trust that old piece of paper right next to the laptop.
Stay Positive and Persistent
Finally, keep a sunny disposition and stick with it when it gets difficult. Chemistry is hard, but with hard work and the right approach, you’ll be able to find ways to make the subject work for you. It’s important to celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and keep your chin up as you keep plugging away. Each assignment that you do is another chink in the armour of a difficult subject.
Conclusion
Chemistry assignments can sometimes be quite overwhelming and intimidating at first, but this is not as difficult as it sounds. There are lots of ways out there to help you overcome your chemistry assignments with a little consistency and dedication. Whether you had chemistry help homework or someone to do your chemistry homework, it is still quite achievable. This blog will be discussing all there is to learning chemistry through the different steps one can take to master chemistry compound as well as powerful ways that can enable one to keep it to themselves without much hassle.

Simply the Best (Viktor x Reader)
Summary: Viktor is assigned a doctor. She's stubborn but the two form a bond.
Warnings: Medical stuff, trauma, ptsd, smut
Note: On a Viktor binge, literally I have plans for other characters like Ekko and Jinx but it's like more keep coming for Viktor.
Tumblr media
You were a doctor. You were known to help people from Zaun with ailments best to your abilities. Which is why when a professor from Piltover wished to speak to you, you were surprised but indulged the man.
Heimerdinger told you of a young man who was from Zaun who was actively dying. Heimerdinger was a good friend to you so the second he wanted your assistance, you came. "So who is he?" You asked. "He used to be my assistant, he managed to create something though that's promoted him from that simple status." Heimerdinger stated. You nodded. "Does he know I'm here?" "Yes, he's not exactly happy with me." Heimerdinger sighed. "Mm. Stubborn?" You asked. "Very." "Gee, I wonder where he got that from." You said sarcastically making Heimerdinger smile. "He doesn't want anyone to know... that he's..." Heimerdinger seemed like he couldn't bring himself to say it outloud and you put a hand on the professor's shoulder. "I understand." You nodded. "I've said you're his assistant." He said. "Tch. That'll make sense when they ask for my assistance and I can't tell them jack shit on mechanical engineering." You said. "Well, I also said your specialty is Chemical Engineering" he said. "... The one time my bachelor's degree is useful." You said earning a chuckle.
You walked into the laboratory, seeing the trinkets all over the room. Papers were scattered everywhere, especially on the counters that lined the wall. There was a black board with equations scattered across it, a window near it that had a half pulled down blind. You caught the attention of a brunette man. "Oh, Viktor, your assistant is here." He said. Viktor clenched his jaw, clearly dreading your presence already.
What he didn't expect was to be met with a beautiful sight of a woman. You certainly didn't expect the man's eyes to be golden but they were. You two stared at each other in silence before you cleared your throat. "My name is Doctor Y/n L/n, I'm the chemist." You said. Jayce nodded. "Had no idea you were a doctor, that's impressive." Jayce said. "Thank you" you nodded. You had a box in your arms "is there a place I can put this?" You asked. "Oh yeah, there's a desk over there by the bathroom." He said. You nodded, walking over to the desk. Truth be told your medical equipment was in the box.
You knew Viktor wanted to keep this private and you wanted to respect those wishes. Viktor turned back to his work and you stared, already making mental notes on his terrible posture. Your eyes wandered over to the crutch he used, noting the lack of a grip. You wondered if he had been desensitized to the pain of his underarm being pressured down onto the crutch. You walked over, looking closely at it.
"Can I help you?" Viktor asked. You noticed a tape measure next to him and you picked it up, measuring the length of the handle before walking back over to your desk. Jayce and Viktor exchanged a look as you dug through your box before pulling out a grip. You walked over, attaching it. "There. Should make it more comfortable." You said before sitting at your desk. Viktor rose a brow. "You carry around cane grips?" Jayce asked. "Yeah, you'd be surprised how many chemists use them. You fuck around with enough chemicals, it kind of destroys your body." You said, writing observations down.
You already noticed that word useage of Jayce. Cane, he called it a cane. When you saw the crutch, you noticed the lower handle which did make you think maybe he used a cane beforehand. If that was the case, it meant Viktor was in fact getting worse. The other thing you noted was the picture on Jayce's desk. His arm was around Viktor who looked reluctant but gave a half assed smile for a photo. You took note though, of the fact Viktor looked healthier in the photo than what you were seeing now. You wrote down rough estimates of his weight, you noted things on his person you could see like the handkerchief.
When Jayce left as dusk settled in, you finally spoke directly to Viktor. "So... How long has your health been declining?" You asked. Viktor was tinkering with something, light metallic tapping keeping the room from being totally quiet. "Okay, can I at least get a height? Weight? Anything?" Viktor clenched his jaw again. You took notice and sighed. "I'm not here to fuck up your life or your system Viktor, I am here to help you." You said. Viktor stopped, turning to you. "I didn't ask for your help, it was forced on me." "By someone who's concerned." You said. "It doesn't matter. I didn't consent to this. So why don't you take your boxes and leave?" He asked. "I can't." You sighed. "Why not?" He asked. "Heimerdinger wanted me to help you. I owe him one. I'm not going to stop trying to help you Viktor." You said.
Viktor shook his head. "There is no point. I am nearly thirty, I am too far gone." He said. "Well, that gives me an approximate age." You muttered. Viktor rose a brow, noticing you writing it down. "....How many estimates do you have?" He asked. You looked up. "I'm guessing you're 27. Am I correct?" You asked. "....Yes." "okay. Now we're getting somewhere. Judging from your cane size, I'm thinking you're about 5'10 when your posture isn't shit, I'm also assuming your crutch wasn't always a crutch seeing as the bottom half resembles a cane a little too closely. From the looks of it, you started getting worse about five or six years ago, you look like you're about 125 pounds, give or take, I'm assuming from the cane upgrade to begin with, you've been sick for most likely your entire life. Someone from Piltover wouldn't have upgraded their equipment, they would've purchased it new, so I'm thinking Zaun. Are any of my observations about you off?" You asked.
Viktor was slightly taken aback. "How... did you-" "I could estimate your height from your crutch, the pound thing is just me taking a shot in the dark, the age thing comes from the picture on your partner's desk and I'm primarily stationed in Zaun, I can recognize muscle deterioration when I see it." You explained, pointing at him with your pen. As much as Viktor didn't like a doctor pressured on him, he couldn't help but be impressed by your deduction skills. "I am not your enemy Viktor. But I also don't need to be your friend. Whether you like it or not, me and you are stuck with each other. I'd start getting used to it." You sighed.
Viktor leaned back on the counter. "How many times did you rehearse that speech on the way here? Five? Six?" "Mhm. First thing we're discussing is a backbrace." You said, pulling a stool over. You sat in front of him. "This is not necessary-" "I am your doctor, I will decide what is. Trust me, for your sake long term, you will want that back brace." You halted. He sighed. "Any previous conditions I should know about?" You asked. "This is ridiculous-" "Stop making side comments and answer." You sighed. He glared. "I have problems with my lungs." He said after a bit. "Got it." You nodded. "Do you take vitamins?" "A few." He nodded. "Ever consider taking fish oil tablets?" You asked. He shook his head. "I have some if you'd like to try it." You offered. "I'm fine." He huffed. "I'm still sending them home with you, I have an overflow." You sighed.
When Viktor finally left, he felt like he left an interrogation. He was sent home with those damn fish oil pills. They sounded absolutely disgusting. Viktor walked into his apartment, going to throw them away but stopped. Maybe he'd try it. Just once. So he kept them, putting them on the kitchen counter.
The next morning when Viktor woke up and made coffee he looked at them, sighing. He felt like he just gave into whatever mind games you were using as he took one of the pills. He grimaced at the texture gagging after he washed it down with coffee. When he came in early, he discovered you were already there, sitting at your desk. You looked over. "Good morning." You greeted. He noticed something propped against the wall. "Tell me that's not what I think it is." He sighed. "Well if you guessed backbrace, then congratulations! You get a cookie." You said with fake enthusiasm. He stared at you. "...I mean, I do keep a legitimate pack of cookies if you want one-" "I'm fine."
He grumbled the entire time as you showed him how to use the backbrace. Yet he listened to you. You rose a brow, looking at something. "What? Wha- what are you-" you got closer, moving hair out of the way. "Did you hit your head this morning?"you asked. "I sneezed and hit my forehead on the medicine cabinet" he admitted. "A mistake I've made a lot more than I'd like to admit. Give me a moment." You said. You came over with disinfectant and a small bandaid.
You started unpackaging the cotton balls from the small plastic bag they were in. "So how did you end up at the academy if you're from Zaun?" You asked. Viktor sighed. "I... stole a uniform and pretended to be a student for a while until Heimerdinger took me in." He said. You cracked a smile before tapping the wound. He winced and you apologized. "Sorry. Sorry..." you muttered. "Where are you from?" Viktor asked. "Believe it or not... also Zaun." You said. Viktor blinked, taken aback. "You're from Zaun?" He asked. "Yep." You nodded. "How did you make it here?" He asked. "I got arrested." You said.
Viktor stared at you, waiting for context. "I was a teenager... some revolution sparked in the Undercity and my goal was to just help as a medic. I was patching up this woman and an enforcer grabbed me by the hair and pulled me away." You muttered. Viktor was now ignoring the pain of the disinfectant. "The woman died.... and the enforcer kept saying I was an accomplice in the death around me and I'd pay for my crimes. When a 14 year old was brought before the council, they were not amused. So... I made my plea. I begged for them to just help my people... Heimerdinger saw something in me I guess and had the charges dropped." You explained. You put the bandage over the small cut. "He helped me all the way through medical school. Which is why I'm so strict on helping you." You said.
Viktor swallowed. "...You're very bossy, you know that right?" He asked. "Eh. I'm your doctor. I get to be. Now... I was serious about the cookie comment earlier, do you want one?" You asked. Viktor cracked a smile as you held up a cookie. "Come on, join the dark side. We have cookies." You said. "How is it my doctor is encouraging sweets?" He asked. "Chocolate is good for you actually. As is coffee." You explained. He took the cookie and you smiled.
You and Viktor had your moments where you two nearly strangled each other but once the dust settled the two of you seemed to have a pleasant rhythm. Viktor and Jayce started working later hours though and you were becoming concerned for Viktor's health.
He was improving, which made you relieved but you also knew that if he made a wrong step he could undo that progress. You started walking him home, which he rolled his eyes at but seemed to be grateful for nonetheless. Jayce however, was becoming suspicious on your reasoning for being there. He was seriously doubting your degree with chemistry. Unbeknownst to you or Viktor he started looking into things.
Jayce walked in, looking at you. "So you're not a chemist." He said. You looked up. "Scuse me?" You asked. "You're not a chemist. You're a doctor, but not in chemistry."Jayce said. You furrowed your brow. "Why do you-" "Records are shockingly easy to come by here." Jayce said. "Why are you here? Does Heimerdinger know? Does anyone know?" Jayce asked. Viktor sighed. "She's here for me Jayce." Viktor said. Jayce looked over. "What?" "My health is declining, it has been since I was five. Heimerdinger thought it'd be a good idea to get a doctor to stay by me." He said. You mouthed a "thank you" to Viktor and he nodded.
"So... you've been lying to me." Jayce said. "Jayce, he's a private person, it took me a week for his insurance information and I'm his doctor." You defended. "I'm his best friend! And he didn't think to tell me that he's dying!" Jayce said. "Jayce-" "Save it! I'm taking the day off." He halted before leaving. Viktor sighed. "I'll talk to him." You said getting up.
Jayce sat in the lunch hall, staring at his plate of unidentifiable slop. "Mm. Love mysterious gray stuff." You said sitting in front of him. Jayce looked at you and then back to the food. "What do you want?" He muttered. "To make sure you're okay." You said. "That's not in your job description apparently." Jayce said. "Actually it is." You corrected. He looked up. "I have lost count of the amount of times I have had to have this conversation with people. Breaking terrible news and explaining to families that this is a normal reaction comes with the territory." You said. Jayce looked at you and sighed. "You're... really hard to hate when you make yourself relatable." He muttered. "That's the point." You said. Jayce sighed. "Is he going to be okay?" Jayce asked. You looked at Jayce. "I don't know." You admitted.
"People from Zaun, their bodies react differently to the pollution. My body had a miniscule reaction minus the asthma. Viktor however has other issues." You explained. Jayce nodded. "I am doing everything I can. But he needs you to be that annoying little voice in his ear that tells him to take a break every now and again. Okay?" Jayce nodded and sighed. "Okay."
Now that it was known to Jayce of the situation, he was witnessing the extent of Viktor's stubbornness. "This is literally just nasal spray- STOP BEING A BABY!" you yelled. "Get away from me- I am fine!" "Your allergies will flare up- JUST TAKE THE FUCKING MEDICINE!" "NO!" Jayce watched the two of you bicker, you eventually weasling yourself into his personal space and forcing it up his nose. "Gah- what the hell Y/n!?" "Well you wouldn't take it without force! I literally have had five year olds take this with no problem but nooooooo Viktor had to throw a bitch fit." You huffed. "It was not a 'bitch fit'" Viktor huffed. "It was totally a bitch fit." Jayce agreed. "HA! Jayce agrees." You said. "I'm not sure I enjoy this dynamic of yours." Viktor said. "You're just mad because we call you out when you act like a two year old." You said. Viktor rolled his eyes but smiled slightly.
Over the months, Viktor seemed to be fine. You were still adamant about him taking medication. Viktor still would but he was becoming too careless with the way he worked. He didn't know how bad it was getting until one morning he coughed up blood. He stared at the blood in his sink, him realizing that it was a sign that he wasn't okay.
He walked into the lab and you looked up. "Morning Vik, how's it going?" You asked. He debated on being honest. He debated on telling you. But he nodded and said he was okay and you were none the wiser. "Oh, I need more fish oil tablets." He said. You cracked a smile. "You've been taking them."you realized. "Maybe." "So, you know how you feel when you have a scientific breakthrough?" You asked. "...Yes?" "This is me right now. See this? This is happy. You caused this. Isn't it nice?" You asked. Viktor rolled his eyes but found himself smiling. "Oh- YOU CAN SMILE!? HOLY SHIT!" he found himself shaking his head but still smiling. You had this gut feeling though that something was wrong. You were shoving it down because Viktor seemed fine but you felt it in your heart, something was wrong.
Jayce walked in. "Hey Viktor, walkthrough is happening." He reminded. Viktor nodded grabbing his crutch and walking out. You chuckled, shaking your head. Viktor walked out with Jayce. He followed Jayce as he walked through the school with new students. Viktor at first, was fine. Then his throat started to hurt and while Jayce was preoccupied, Viktor coughed up more blood. This time it was more. He muttered a "fuck" under his breath, Jayce thankfully not noticing his coughing fit. Viktor walked over to him, telling him calmly that he wasn't feeling great. Viktor skipped out on going to you and just went home.
Jayce after a bit went back to lab and noticed Viktor's absence. "Did you send Viktor home?" Jayce asked. "No? Why?" You asked. "He said he wasn't feeling well and now he's not here..." Jayce said. You frowned. "Where does he live?"
Viktor sat on his couch coughing. He sighed, frustrated. He heard rapid knocking and got up, opening the door to a very much pissed off you. "What is wrong?" You asked. "I-" he was cut off by another coughing fit and you looked at him as he coughed into his handkerchief, you noticing the forming spot of blood on it. "Oh shit- why didn't you say anything Viktor!?" You asked, walking in. You pulled him with you, forcing him to sit down. You looked around, noticing the kitchen and grabbed a glass and filled it with water before rifling through your back and pulled out a pill.
You handed him both and Viktor sighed. He shook his head but took it. "I swear I have never had a patient be this stubborn since.." you pinched the bridge of your nose. "Then just give up." Viktor said. "That's not how this arrangement works. I don't give up. I never do." You said. "Why don't you? I have already accepted death, I know I'm going to die!" "I promised Heimerdinger I'd help you. I'm doing my fucking best Viktor." You snapped. He shook his head and set down the glass of water.
"I don't need your help. I don't want your help. I said it before, I meant it." Viktor snapped. "I am not going to just leave you Viktor, you cannot make me-" "why are you just this stubborn!? Why!? What in the hell makes you this fucking stubborn to just let me die!?" He asked. Flashes of the woman on the bridge flooded your memory but you powered through it. "I am not your experiment, I am not a miracle patient that will mystically be okay with your help-" "you don't think I don't know that? I know Viktor, I have known this but I'm still fighting for you!" "WHY!?" "BECAUSE SOMEONE FUCKING HAS TO!"
You could hear a loud pitch. It was becoming too loud to hear whatever Viktor was saying. You moved back as Viktor got closer. He noticed that look in your eyes, one of panic. All you could see was the woman on the bridge.
Door
"Y/n? What's going on with you?"
You moved back quickly as the image of the woman flashed in your mind again.
Where is the door?
Your eyes darted from area to area as your heart was pounding in your ears. "Y/n?"
Where the fuck is the door?
Viktor moved closer but you moved back, tripping over the leg of one of the chairs. You hit the ground, moving back into a corner. Viktor noticed sweat beading on your brow, the noises of hyperventilating filling the room. He slowly grabbed the glass of water from the coffee table and walked over to you. Using his crutch he kneeled to you.
You put your hands over your ears, closing your eyes praying she'd go away. You felt hands grasp your wrists, gently pulling them away. "Y/n, open your eyes." Viktor said. His voice had changed from one of anger to something gentle and soothing. "How many fingers am I holding up?" He asked. You eyes drifted to his hands. "T-two" he nodded. "What color is my shirt?" "R-red." You answered. "What's this?" "A... glass of-of water." He handed it to you, him picking up your hand and guiding it to the glass. You slowly sipped on the water, silence filling the room now.
You looked at Viktor with a sigh. "This isn't appropriate for my patient to do this." You muttered after a bit. "Neither is attacking me with nasal spray, but here we are." Viktor said. You let out a small laugh and then sighed. "I'll make a deal with you." You said. Viktor rose a brow. "I'll tone down the medical attacking if you're honest and upfront with me." You said. Viktor looked at you before nodding. "Deal" he said.
You stared at the floor in silence for a while, Viktor sitting in front of you. "Who were you talking about earlier?" Viktor asked. "What?" "You mentioned the woman. What woman?" He asked. "...The one on the bridge.... the... first person I failed" you muttered. Viktor could tell there was another reason her death stuck with you, though he didn't want to push his luck in finding out who she was. However you seemed to answer that question on your own. "She was my mother."
Suddenly that story had a new gravity to it. It was your mother.... Viktor looked at you. "I feel like I reached maximum potential." He finally said. You looked up. "What?" "I don't like it when people have faith in me because I know I'm going to let them down." He explained. Your gaze softened as he coughed into his handkerchief. You leaned off the wall, putting a hand on his shoulder. "When I look at you Viktor, I see a man who's just getting started." You said. He looked up at you. "I am not giving up on you. Not while there's still hope." You assured. Viktor cracked a small smile. "I'll make a deal with you." Viktor said. You rose a brow. "I'll let you help me if you'll let me help you." He said. You smiled. "Deal."
The next morning Viktor came in later, Jayce being surprised. "...I cannot believe I beat you here." He said. "Doctor's orders." Viktor said, earning a smile from you as you looked at your clipboard. You looked up. "You okay?" He mouthed. You nodded and he turned to his work before the door opened. "Ah! Good you're all here!" Heimerdinger said. "Can we help you professor?" You asked. "Yes actually, we're going on a fieldtrip!" He said. You all looked up. "I'm sorry, what?" You asked. "Fieldtrip! To see temples in Ionia! The ones that of course aren't in a active warzone." He said. You all stared at him. He sighed after a bit of confused silence. "We need chaperones to ensure the students don't do anything stupid." He said. You all exchanged glances. "You will be paid-" "Fieldtrip everybody!"
So there you were on a boat. "This is the weirdest vacation of my life." You said. "Eh, you'll be good at this, you have no problem yelling at me."Viktor said making you stare at him. "You see this?" You asked, holding up a rolled up newspaper. "I will use it." You threatened. "You're proving my point further." He said. You chuckled before seeing two students near each other, too close for comfort. "AYE! THREE FEET AWAY. NOW!" You yelled earning a laugh from Viktor.
Jayce ran over. "This was a terrible idea!" He breathed. "Sea sick? I have patches." You offered. "No! Worse!" He said. You were confused but noticed a group of college girls staring at him. You smirked as did Viktor. "Formed a fanclub?" "YES- WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS!?" He asked. "Hide in your cabin. They can't enter there." Viktor suggested. Jayce snapped his fingers. "That'll work." He said before sprinting off.
Viktor noticed a group of college men looking at you and chuckled. "What?" You asked. "It seems you have a fan club as well." He pointed out. "Oh god no." You grimaced. "Luckily for you, it is your job to follow me around like a lost puppy." He teased. "I do not follow you around like a lost puppy, if anything you're the rescue puppy I'm trying to leash." You said. "I should leave you to the wolves." He said. "But you won't, because you know I'll hunt you down" you said. He chuckled looking over at you. "Oh, did you take your medication yet?" "Yes I did." Viktor's said, rolling his eyes.
Faculty all sat in the dining area watching the students. "I can't believe he dragged you here." You snorted looking at Mel. She gave you a look that could kill and you chuckled. Viktor smiled into his glass and Jayce sat down, out of breath. "What happened to you?" You asked. "So. Many. Girls." He panted. "What?" Heimerdinger asked. "He's obtained a fanclub." You said. "Ah. Is that also the group of young men over there that's been staring at you?" Heimerdinger asked. "That's her fanclub." Viktor said. Heimerdinger let out an "ah" before you sighed. "We need something like a teacher's retreat. Like none of that." "Not a fan of your fanclub?" Viktor teased. You rolled your eyes before noticing a group of students staring at Viktor.
"Oh my god this is the greatest moment of my life." You laughed. "What?" Jayce asked. "Viktor has a group too." You laughed. "What- oh my god." Jayce realized. Viktor rose a brow. "There's men and women in the group, oh my god this is hilarious." You said. "I'm sure they're just people I taught in the past." "Mm. Mhm. Kay." You got up, walking over to their table. Viktor rose a brow as you laughed and nodded at something the students were telling you. You came back over with a smirk. "They were students of yours." "See I told you-" "and they all find you super hot." You said. Viktor's face flushed red and you laughed.
"I have an idea that might help." Heimerdinger said. "Mm?" "Maybe entering a relationship will disperse them." "So what? Get real friendly with one of them?" You asked, Jayce snorting. "No, fake being with each other." Heimerdinger said. "Ah. I mean, I suppose it'll work." Viktor shrugged. "So how do we split? Me and mel, Viktor and Jayce?" You suggested. "I am not paired with you." Mel said. "Oh really? And you were being so lovely I nearly proposed." You said sarcastically. "Plus, why that pairing?" "Because I legitimately thought you were Viktor's boyfriend when I first met you." You shrugged. "Huh. That's actually a first." Jayce said. "I guess that leaves Mel and Jayce and you with me." Viktor said. "You mean we now have to act like a couple on top of me tracking your every move? Someone end me." "May I volunteer for that position-" "you shut it." You halted Viktor. "...oh yes. You can so tell they love each other." Jayce said making Heimerdinger snort.
After dinner, students dispersed into their own activities, your guy's "fanclubs" slowly drifting to their locations near you. Viktor read on a bench with you next to him. Across from the two of you were Mel and Jayce talking on the other side of the ship. "Any more coughing up blood?" "A little. Not as bad." Viktor answered, turning the page. "Mm." You nodded, watching Jayce and Mel. Mel's hand landed on Jayce's thigh as she spoke, him noticing but not moving it. "Any more anxiety issues?" Viktor asked not looking up. "Yeah but that's expected." You shrugged. You noticed the groups beginning to whisper and you sighed. "Viktor, I need the strangest favor" you said. "Mm?" "Put your arm around me." You said. He looked up, confused. "What?" "Could you just please do it so the frat LEAVES?" You asked.
He sighed, moving closer to you and pulled you to him, keeping his arm around you. He noticed the confused look of students watching you both, the college boys all looking at the two of you confused. "They really have nothing better to do." Viktor sighed before going back to his book. You rested your head on his shoulder and sighed again. "You're trying to sell this aren't you?" "I could be dry fucking like Jayce and Mel." You said. Viktor looked up to see his partner making out with Mel. He grimaced. "Ugh" he gagged. You laughed. "Affection is not your strong suit." You said.
"Actually, I am very affectionate, that is just disgusting." Viktor said. You rose a brow, looking at Viktor. "You're affectionate? Mister 'married to his job' is affectionate?" You asked. "Yes. You do realize I've had relationships before, right?" He asked. You dramatically gasped. "No way." You said, him rolling his eyes. "Besides he's just... glued to her, that's not even a good play to go with." Viktor added. You looked at him. "Oh, what now?" He asked. "You're out here giving pointers, I almost want to see what this is like." You laughed. He rolled his eyes.
Viktor closed his book. "You want to know what that is like?" He asked. "I'm curious. Woo me, my good sir." You joked. He rolled his eyes. "Mm. Alright, face me." He said. You faced him, looking at him. "If you're truly trying to, as you put it, 'woo' someone, the goal is to make them feel like their the center of your attention." He said. You snorted. "I cannot believe you are giving me lessons right now." You snorted. "Hush. Now, the good way to do that is eye contact when you're close. Let your eyes wander their face." He said. You were trying not to laugh, smiling. "If they have hair in their face, move it." He said, brushing strands out of your eyes. "Let your eyes wander to their lips." He muttered. You two were close enough you could feel his breath. Had he always smelt like chamomile? Did he even drink chamomile?
You were less giggly now as Viktor's thumb rested on your cheek, cradling your face. You swallowed hard. "What happens after that?" You asked, voice quiet. He looked in your eyes, debating on whether or not he should just leave it there. But there was this odd desire. This need to kiss you. He cleared his throat trying to focus. "You start with a light peck." He mumbled, before pecking your lips. But there was this tension from that build up that made him immediately pull you back after that, him kissing you.
Passionate didn't even begin to describe what the kiss was. Viktor literally left you breathless, staring at you as you pulled away. "And that is how you make out with someone properly." He said before going back to his book. You stared at the deck, your face red. The groups had dispersed for the most part, with you feeling slightly relieved. Mel and Jayce were absent from their spot. You rose a brow before getting up. "I'm going to the cabin." You sighed. "I'll walk with you." Viktor said.
He walked you to your room, not saying a word. When you closed the door you immediately heard knocking. You opened the door to a annoyed looking Viktor. "Take a wild guess where Mel and Jayce are." He said. "Oh god no." You gagged. "Yeeaah, can I stay in here until... that sorts itself out?" Viktor asked. "Absolutely, god you poor thing." You said making him chuckle. You sat on your bed reading, Viktor eventually falling asleep in his chair.
He woke up to the sound of your book falling to the floor, him jumping slightly. Mel was still not there, this proving a point that she was most likely sleeping in there, that or Jayce had an inhuman amount of stamina. You were sleeping and from the looks of it, fell asleep while reading. He got up, avoiding the use of the crutch because of the noise. He knelt down, picking it off the floor and noticing it's title. You were reading about your destination to Ionia, him noticing the little annotations you made. He smiled to himself, marking the page for you. He nearly walked away when he heard a quiet "I'm sorry".
He turned around looking at you. He noticed tears on your face, you seeming like you were upset. He reached out, not really thinking and brushed a tear from your cheek. When your eyes opened he pulled back, clearing his throat. "Viktor?" You muttered. "You looked upset, I just reacted, I'm sorry." He said going to walk away. You grabbed his hand though, looking at him. "Stay"
Mel snuck back into the room the following morning to find you asleep in Viktor's arms. She rose a brow, not realizing she let go of the door, the loud clicking waking you and Viktor both up. Your eyes connected to his golden ones and in a moment of shock you fell onto the floor, landing on top of him. "I AM SO SORRY!" You breathed. He winced, feeling horrible. "Are you okay!? Concussed? Mel, bring me my small flashlight-" "I'm okay Y/n, you're kind of top of me."he pointed out. "Oh my god."
Breakfast came, all of you sitting at the faculty table in silence. "How was everyone's evenings?" Heimerdinger asked. "Good!" "Super!" "Pleasant" "okay" you all replied. Heimerdinger sighed. "Who had intercourse?" He asked. You and Viktor pointed to Jayce and Mel, Jayce raising his hand but Mel forcing it back down. "Were you at least safe?" "Uhhh-" "We are not discussing this. At least I didn't wake up in my doctor's bed." Mel scoffed. "You were fucking in their room dude." You sighed. "There was a whole bed available to him, why did he sleep with you?" Mel asked. "Uh, I have this thing called night terrors." You scoffed. "Sure you do. Hey Jayce, I have night terrors, care to sleep with me?" She asked sarcastically. "She does Mel." Viktor sighed. "Besides it's not like you walked in on us fucking." He added. You and Heimerdinger grimaced. "You-" "yep." Viktor muttered into his coffee cup. "Oh god." Heimerdinger said, alarmed. "It was awful, just skin everywhere" "Who the fuck says that? It's like you never had intercourse before." Jayce said, alarmed. "He most likely hasn't." "I have, Mel. Not that you need that information" Viktor scoffed. "Kay, that answers that question on your medical work." You said.
Viktor looked over. "What?" "Last time I asked you 'were you ever sexually active' you used some creative language to tell me to go screw myself." You mumbled, pulling out your notebook and jotting it down. "You just tote around his information?" Mel asked. "I do in case of emergencies, anything else you care to comment on, dick?" You asked, not looking up. She glared at you and Heimerdinger sighed. "Perhaps the couple's suggestion was a mistake, apparently only one of the couples can control themselves." Heimerdinger muttered. "But they-" "Coming from someone who's known Y/n since she was a child, she does in fact have night terrors, I have no doubt Viktor acted responsibly." Heimerdinger said. Mel clicked her tongue. "Wait, if you don't stay with the boys, where do you stay?" You asked. "My own cabin. Jayce snores." Heimerdinger replied. "I do not!" "You do." Viktor and Mel replied. Mel shot Viktor a look of disgust but said nothing.
Mel got up not long after, you looking over at Viktor. "Did you take your medicine?" You asked. He shook his head and you opened your bag, handing him a pill case. "You keep my medicine on hand?" "In case you forget." You nodded. Viktor chuckled, taking the medication with his coffee. "Oh yeah, not embarrass you but uh... the hell was up with the kiss yesterday?" Jayce asked earning coffee to shoot out of Viktor's nose and you to turn red. You looked over and Viktor coughed. "Oh sweet jesus" you muttered, grabbing a napkin. "It-it wasn't anything. Those-" he cleared his throat. "Those students wouldn't leave us alone." He said. "Right. It was nothing" you muttered. You dabbed his chest and he winced. "Shit, I think you burned yourself." You said. "It's fine- I'll be fine." He said "If we-" "Y/n, I'm okay." Viktor said, holding your hand before you could dab the coffee again. Heimerdinger and Jayce both noticed the new tension between the two.
When the ship docked, you walked out of your cabin with your hair in a pony tail and in a cami. Two things Viktor had never seen on you before. You had scars on you that clearly went down further that rose questions but Viktor didn't comment on it. "Ready to get your hike on?" You asked. "What?" Viktor asked. "...Dude Ionia is mainly mountains." You said. "....This is going to be great. Says the man with the crutch." He said. "I'm sure the paths aren't that narrow."
That ended up being an idiotic thing to say once everyone was strapped with literal hiking equipment. "How is this even going to work- One of my legs barely works?" Viktor asked the guide. "Jayce is paired up with you " Heimerdinger said. You nearly wheezed a the small man being in his harness. "Keep close though doc." Jayce said. "Will do." You nodded. "Has anyone done this before?" The guide asked. You raised your hands and she handed you two pickaxe like things. "Know how to use them?" "Yep" "Get on up there." She said.
Viktor was impressed to see how easily you scaled the side of the mountain, the rest of the students climbing up. Viktor felt uneasy though, being strapped to Jayce's back. As they neared the top, he heard a snap, you looking over before you reached out, gripping Viktor's arm. "I got you." You muttered before yanking him to the ground. You were out of breath, Viktor looking over. "The harness snapped, you would've... fallen." You said. "Oh. Thank you." Viktor nodded. Jayce sighed. "Unfortunately your cane is down there." You said. "I got a walking stick." A student offered. He took it, using it to pull himself up.
You all traveled through the mountains, Viktor looking at you in silence. "I can feel you staring, is there something you need?" You asked, looking at a map. "When have you been hiking like that before?" Viktor asked. "My dad used to take me." You shrugged. He looked over. "He used to be really outdoorsy. Dragged me everywhere with him." You said with a reminiscent smile on your face. Viktor noticed the past tense usage and nodded. "Being out here reminds you of these things." You said. "OW!" A student shrieked. You looked up to see a girl injured on the path.
You closed the map, rushing over. "What happened?" "She rolled her ankle." A student answered. "Alright, someone take my pack and stay with Viktor." You said, shoving your bag off your back. You gave the girl a piggback ride. "So that's your girlfriend?" A student asked, standing next to Viktor. "Uh... yeah." He lied. "Dude you're fuckin lucky." He said. "I know."
When you managed to get to the temple, healers were able to help the girl. You walked back over to Viktor who looked annoyed with the student who took your place as he explained football to him. "Then, the quarterback- "You're back." Viktor said relieved. You chuckled as Viktor motioned for the kid to leave, him leaving the pack on the bench. "That excited to see me?" You teased. "He wouldn't shut up. He kept going for six. Miles." Viktor said, gritting his teeth. You smiled slightly.
"You've been walking for a while. How have you been holding up?" You asked. "I'm alright. Impressing myself honestly." Viktor said. You nodded. "Let me know if anything changes." You said, getting up. Viktor instinctively grasped your hand. "Please stay here." He muttered. You nodded, sitting back down. "I don't want the football kid coming back" he said making you laugh.
When it was announced that you all didn't have to hike back down that day all of you were relieved. You slept in a sleepingbag on the temple floor next to Viktor. Your hand was extended out, Viktor noting it's smallness. He noticed you flinch, seeming upset before he slid his hand into yours. You opened your eyes slightly. "Thank you" you whispered before Viktor pulled you closer.
The next morning, Heimerdinger found you two sleeping and nearly squealed. "This is how I found them the other night." Mel sighed. "Yes but this isn't lust Mel, this is love." Heimerdinger said. You woke up to the sounds of chatter, wondering was as so warm. You realized your face was against cloth and that confused you until you realized the other noise in your ear was a heartbeat. Someone was holding you. And judging by the freckles on the arms it was Viktor.
You slowly eased out of his grasp, leaning up to see Jayce, Mel and a very happy Heimerdinger staring at you. "Viktor. We have company." You said. He grumbled. "Viktor. Wake. Up." You said through gritted teeth. "VIKTOR!" "What woman what do you wan- Hello." Viktor realized. "Cuddle close recently?" Jayce teased. "Shut up, naked man" you shot back making his face go red. Viktor sighed.
When you heard of the communal baths, you immediately were alarmed. You were made even more alarmed when there was an awkward separation of faculty and students. Mel had no trouble being naked but you seemed anxious now more than ever. Viktor was just greatful for the warmth, he didn't even consider the fact that you'd be naked. "Y/n, you're being ridiculous, just drop the towel." Mel sighed. "This is a lot more nerve-wracking to other people, Mel." You sighed. "Woman, I will shove you in." She said before you finally dropped the towel. Viktor noticed the scars full length now. It looked as if you had something dragged across your body like a knife. You immediately submerged yourself in the water, sitting on the edge. Mel of course, sat with Jayce. Viktor moved closer to you.
"Are you alright?" Viktor asked. You shook your head, him moving closer but you moved back. "Please do not look at me." You muttered. It didn't take Viktor long to realize why you were uncomfortable. "You don't like being exposed." He muttered. "Can you blame me?" You muttered. Jayce and Mel soon left and you shook your head. "Those two have no self control." You muttered. "Tell me about it. I have had to hear him talk about Mel this entire trip when I'm not with you." He said making you crack a smile.
You sank lower into the pool and Viktor looked at you. "Can I ask-" "If it's about the scar then yes, I will tell you about it." You muttered. "It was a chemical reaction, despite the fact it looks like something sharp did this to me, it was basically acid." You muttered. Viktor rose a brow. "I had a really stupid lab partner." You added making him smile. "We should really stop those two from-" "Yeah." You nodded.
You got out, Viktor covering his eyes and waited until he knew you were decent to emerge. You accidentally turned around too early seeing everything, you jumping and turning back around. "My bad. I'm just gonna-" you turned back around before heading to the locker rooms. Those thankfully, were separated. You got changed, walking out and Viktor stood waiting. "Shall we cockblock my bestfriend?" "Absolutely"
You know how we're not from this same universe so the same music doesn't apply? Well guess what still exists. Cotton Eyed Joe, which is exactly what played on your cellphone as Jayce and Mel were making out in a separate room. "What the-" "Don't make me get Heimerdinger" you said from behind the door. "Alright! Jesus!"
The two emerged and you had a smirk on your face, Viktor chuckling on a bench. He felt this odd pain though as you bickered with Mel and Jayce, him clutching his chest and coughing harder. That caught your attention. "Viktor? Are you okay?" You asked. He opened his mouth but blood drizzled out, your eyes widening. "Oh my god-" "Get Heimerdinger now, Mel go get my bag." "But-" "NOW!" you yelled both of them rushing off.
Viktor leaned forward, you looking at him. "Stay with me, come on Viktor " you begged, Mel handing you your bag. He coughed. "I-I" "Shhh, don't strain yourself." You mumbled. Heimerdinger ran over, medics following. "Are you a doctor?" "Yes. I'm his doctor." "Do you have his paperwork?" "In my bag." "Come with us." Was the last words Viktor heard.
He woke up in a bed, a white light hitting his eyes. He grunted slightly before seeing you asleep at the edge of the bed, holding his hand. He loved that feeling of his hand in yours. He clenched your hand and you woke up, sighing with relief. "You scared the fuck out of me" you breathed. "I'm sorry." He mumbled. He noticed your shirt with blood on it. "Your fanclub is worried by the way." You mumbled. He chuckled. You looked at him "what... uh... what happened?" "Too much stress on your body." You said. "Am I-" "You're going to be okay. I pestered the other doctors until I found out." You said earning a chuckle. "Where are we?" "The ship." You said. He nodded. "Can you do me a favor?" "Anything." "Lay with me." He said. You looked at him "what?" "Can you just lay with me? Please? I see the football kid staring at me from the window, I'm trying to get him to leave." Viktor said making you laugh.
You did, laying with him. He played with your hair as your head rested on his chest. Students from behind the glass seemed to find that adorable and the door opened. "There is a whole fucking swarm of college students- YOU'RE AWAKE!" Jayce gasped. "Yeah, I noticed." Viktor said. "What is... uh happening here?" Jayce asked. "He asked me to lay here." You said. "Ah. Well you'll be horrified to know the students have a new obsession." Jayce said. "What? Is it football?" You asked earning a laugh from Viktor. "No it's you two." Jayce said. "What?" Both of you asked in unison. "Apparently your couple facade was convincing enough for you to become an 'otp'." Jayce said.
You rolled your eyes. "Do they have anything better to do?" You asked. "Well I mean... you two are adorable together. I mean look at you." Jayce agreed. You sighed. "So... how was your first near death experience?" Jayce asked. To avoid horrifying the man, he bit down the urge of telling him that it wasn't his first near death experience. "Eh" Viktor shrugged making you laugh. "I heard that when you almost die, you see your life flash before your eyes. Is that true?" Jayce asked sitting in a chair. "No." Viktor said. "...Then what did you see?" Jayce asked.
The real answer was you. He saw you smiling, he saw his memories of you making jokes, he saw the ones of you and him. He loved you. This was apparent. "I saw equations." "You're a fucking nerd." You teased making him laugh. Jayce knew he was lying. He saw Viktor's eyes go to you, linger before answering.
When Viktor was finally released, you walked next to him reading off what he can do and what he can't. "As much as it pains me, they say no coffee." You said. "Jesus" "No straining yourself, which means no working ridiculously late and coming to work on three hours of sleep" you said. He sighed. "And no intercourse within the next two weeks. You hear that? You gotta stop with the prostitutes. I know it pains you, but honestly I doubt Vixen is her real name." You said making him laugh. Viktor smiled at you.
You smiled slightly, clearing your throat. "But uh... Basically your fine. Just stop deciding sleep is optional." You said. "Alright. Only if you sleep with me." He shrugged. "Ha. Funny. Now-" "I'm being serious, I've discovered I don't sleep unless you're there." He said. You stared at him. "That's so unprofessional-" "you've attacked me with nasal spray, kissed me, slept with me, have seen me naked. Trust me, I think you're fine." Viktor said. "... Okay fine."
You started staying at his apartment, sleeping over. It got to a point where you had a drawer. Was Viktor thankful you said yes? Yes. Was he trying to ease his way into admitting he loved you? Yes.
A month had passed since the Fieldtrip and Viktor was still having you sleep over. You were comfortable around him. You walked into the apartment. "Okay good news, you can stop taking two of the other medications. Bad news you're on one new one and it tastes horrible." You said. Viktor looked up from his paper. It was a Heimerdinger mandatory lazy day. He literally locked you all out of the lab, saying you all needed a break. "Aren't you supposed to not be working?" He asked. "I'm your live in doctor, I don't stop working." You said. "What?" You asked. "And you call me the workaholic." Viktor sighed.
You seemed to work all day that day and Viktor had known you long enough to know what you were doing. "Why are you trying to distract yourself?" Viktor asked. "What?" You asked. "Why are you trying to distract yourself?" Viktor asked. "I'm not-I don't know what you're talking about." You said. "What is going on with you?" Viktor asked. You tensed up when Viktor moved your hair with his fingers. You pulled back. "Y/n, we agreed we'd be honest with each other." Viktor said. "I..." you tensed up. You sighed. "I love you." You said. Viktor's eyes widened. "And we're in an apartment all day together and it's becoming more difficult to ignore." You mumbled. Viktor looked at you.
"Come here." He said. You looked over, walking near his chair when he pulled you into his lap. You looked at him. "I love you too. And that is something I don't want you to ignore." He said. You looked down. "This is so unprofessional." You mumbled. "So have been the many inappropriate thoughts that have been floating around my mind, but here we are." Viktor said. You looked him in the eyes. "Viktor... I..." your face was even more red. "I want you to kiss me." You muttered. He smiled, sliding his fingers beneath your chin and kissed you.
You found yourself laughing and Viktor pulled back. "I'm so sorry." You snorted. He rose a brow, smiling at your giggly state. "I'm sorry but I will never forget the fact that our first kiss technically was a teaching moment." You said making him laugh. "What other lessons do you have floating around up there in your head?" "Eh I have one on laundry" he said. "Laundry? How the hell do you give a couples lecture on laundry?" You asked. He chuckled. "There is one on baking. Oh there is one on sex, one on proper dinner etiquette-" "Back up, how to you jump from sex to dinner etiquette?" You halted. "There is one on hugging if you'll believe it" he said. "Seriously, you're not even mentioning the sex thing?" "I doubt you'd need lessons on sex Y/n, you're a doctor, you literally had to study the human body." He said.
Your face went a deep red. "Uh..." you gulped. He rose a brow. "No... there's no way you're still... You're still a virgin!?" He asked. You huffed. "I wasn't supposed to be! I had a serious boyfriend for the longest time and we were supposed to do it but I was always busy with my residency or the MCAT or my job would get in the way... after we broke up, I had that chemical accident and I don't like staring at myself in a mirror much less letting someone else see me." You muttered. Viktor looked at you. "Also, how in the world am I not killing your leg right now?" You asked. "Your weight is primarily on my good leg." He said.
You sighed. Viktor caressed the side of your cheek, looking in your eyes. "We don't have to do anything you do not want to do Y/n. Love is not defined by things done physically but by actions of the heart." He said. You smiled, resting your forehead on his. "I love you Viktor." You whispered. "I love you too Y/n." He said. You sighed. "I should not be sitting in your lap though, that has got to be killing you." You said getting up. He chuckled.
You and Viktor were now constantly smiling at one another. Viktor would crack a joke and you'd laugh, smiling at him with utter adoration. Your love for each other was something that practically radiated to anyone around you. You sat on your stool, Viktor sitting in front of you and talking. Mel and Jayce watched the two of you. "Those two are still like that?" Mel asked. "Eh... there's something different about those two. I can't tell what though." Jayce said. "Mm. Will you meet me tonight?" Mel asked. Jayce nodded. "Of course."
You and Viktor went home, Viktor watching you wash dishes. "I can feel you staring." You said. His hands slinked around your waist. "I love you." He said. You smiled, shutting off the water and turned around, kissing him. Viktor pulled you closer, looking in your eyes. He was telling you something, something that required no words once his forehead was on yours. No talking. No kissing. Just a comfortable silence between you two. To many, silence was excruciating. But to the two of you, it alone said a thousand words. Your hand wandered to his cheek, your eyes closing as his hand covered yours. "I love you" you whispered. Viktor kissed your hand. "I love you too." He said.
You looked at him, his golden eyes searching yours. "Viktor... I think.. I think I'm ready now." You said. Viktor rose a brow but nodded slowly before taking your hand. He looked at you. "Do you want me to-" "teach me... please." You whispered. He smiled softly, entering his room.
The room had a new air to it. Usually it was one of comfort that lulled you to sleep. Right now though its air had shifted to one of an electric feeling, one that had your heart racing. You two were focused on each other as he kissed you, this time more intense than the last, his crutch dropping as you neared the bed. "Did that just break-" "I'm an engineer, I'll fix it later." He said making you chuckle. You looked at him, waiting for him to speak again. He smiled, noticing the expectant look as he slid his fingers under your chin, running his thumb over your lips. "Lesson one... Know where your partner loves to be touched." He said softly. You looked in his eyes before he kissed you again, pulling your body close to his.
He kissed your neck, your head tilting back as if to guide him. "That's it darling" he mumbled against your skin. Your breath hitched as he scattered kisses across your collarbone. He reached for the hem of your shirt, you tensing up. He noticed looking at you. "Do you want to continue? We can stop here." He assured. "No-no it's..." you sighed. "I know you've technically seen me naked before but... I... I have so many imperfections and I'm worried that once you see them-" he put hand on your cheek. "Lesson two: You are talking to a man born with imperfections that hurt me to this day... you are not imperfect my darling. You are beautiful. Know that." He said softly. You guided his fingers back to the hem of your shirt and nodded.
He helped you remove your shirt, your scar scattered across your chest. Viktor didn't care. This proved to him you were strong willed and to him that made you even more amazing. He pressed small kisses across your skin as he unclasped your bra. You let out moans as he slid his hands into yours.
He slowly drifted on top of you, his one good knee keeping him hovering over you. You looked into his eyes. "Do you remember what I taught you when we kissed?" He asked. "Make them feel like their the center of your attention?" You asked. He smiled. "I knew you were an A+ student." He said. You smiled, him unbuckling his belt. You assisted him in removing his shirt and he pulled off his pants.
"I know again, we've seen each other naked before but uh... daaammmn" you said making Viktor chuckle. He slid his hand down between your legs, you giving a sharp inhale as he rubbed your clit. You let out moans as Viktor pressed kisses to your neck. "V-viktor" you moaned, him looking into your eyes. "Lesson three: say my name." He told you. Your body naturally reacted to his touch, your hips guiding his flingers over your clit. "V-Viktor I-" your heart pounded in your ears. "I need words darling." He said making you roll your eyes. "Da-damn it" you said making him chuckle. "I need-I ah!" "Mhmm?" "I need y-you." You breathed. Viktor slid down your pants, pulling down your panties with it.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead, you panting, slightly out of breath before you felt him in you. Your breath hitched as your hands drifted to his face, cradling it as he thrusted into you. He pressed a kiss to your palm your breaths filling the night. Viktor let out small grunts here and there, his focus primarily being you. You felt yourself tighten around him "V-Viktor- I'm going to-" he pulled you closer before you felt yourself cum.
You shook ever so slightly, Viktor laying next to you. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah-yeah... I uh... wow." You laughed. Viktor smiled, "glad to know I elicited that reaction." He said. You smiled looking at him. You seemed to debate asking a question. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing uhm.. You didn't strain yourself did you?" You asked. Viktor snorted. "I'm fine Y/n, if anything I'd worry about you." He said. "What? Why?" You asked. "You might not feel it now but you're going to be sore." He said. "Pfft. Sure." "Mhmm. Laugh it up, later you're going to be running into things." Viktor warned.
You should've taken more heed in that warning seeing as when you got up that morning, Viktor woke up to a thud. "Motherfucker!" You winced. Viktor leaned up. "How goes the walking?" He asked, seeing you on the floor. "Aha. Funny." You said sarcastically. "Do you need my cane?" He asked. "The one that potentially is broken? I'm good." You said. He shook his head and you pulled yourself up. "God, what did you do?" "Well, I believe we took part in something referred to as intercourse, absolutely wild." He said earning an eye roll from you. "I love how even when we're together we're still very much sarcastic assholes." You said making him smile.
When you finally got off the floor, you went into work, Viktor fixing his cane by replacing a few screws. You nearly sat down before you winced, muttering curses under your breath. "Y/n? Are you alright?" Jayce asked. "I'm good." You muttered. Viktor smiled to himself you sighing. "Alright, so we've got a consultation tomorrow morning with another doctor, just to make sure your insides aren't going to decide to do what it did on the field trip again- ow." You winced again as you fully sat down. "Mhmm." Viktor nodded. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yep, just uh... slept weird. So he might recommend some new medications, I don't know. I'm going to try to avoid having you take like fourty different pills in the morning." You said. Viktor nodded. "Jesus." You muttered as you turned back. Viktor walked over, leaning over your shoulder so he could speak in your ear. "Are you alright my love?" He asked. "I'm fine, just sore." You muttered. "Mm. Might've bruised your cervix." He said. You looked over. "And you know this because...?" "I know things. You don't just enjoy me for my looks, remember?" Viktor teased. You sighed and by force of habit, Viktor pressed a kiss to the side of your head, not realizing Jayce saw it.
He sat back at his desk, both of you keeping to yourselves. Jayce said nothing, watching the two of you. "Y/n, do you mind holding something for me" Viktor asked. You got up, shoving down an urge to punch something and walked over. He handed you something small as Viktor tinkered with a smaller object. You looked at the object you were holding noticing it was glass. Viktor looked over, motioning for you to pass it back. You handed it to him and he took it, handing you something else. However it seemed he misjudged the fagility of the vial, seeing as it broke, cutting your hand.
You winced and he immediately put down what he was working on, pulling out a first aid kit from the drawer. "Told you it was a good idea to keep one near you." You muttered, Viktor rolling his eyes. He picked out the glass from the cut, holding your hand and finally put disinfectant on it. You winced, Viktor looking up with a concerned look. "You're doing great sweetheart, just burns." You assured. Viktor nodded, finally applying a bandage to it. "You did good, I'm impressed." You said with a chuckle. Viktor smiled, brushing the hair from your face. "Promise you'll tell me if you're in pain?" "Only if you promise to tell me if something feels off." You said. He kissed your knuckles. "Deal."
Jayce was beginning to realize you guys weren't keeping it a secret from him, you just weren't saying it. Viktor held your hand with a smile and you put a hand on his cheek. "I love you." You said softly. "I love you too dear." Viktor said, Jayce being shocked by the steps that he seemed to have missed in your relationship.
Jayce sat across from Mel, deep in thought. "Is something wrong Jayce?" She asked. "No uh... what do you think of Y/n and Viktor?" He asked. She frowned. "I don't think you're going to like my answer." She said. Still, Jayce expected an answer. "Y/n seems pathetic with the way she hides behind trauma. It's like she uses it as an excuse to be near Viktor." "Viktor is her patient." "Which is also why their relationship is incredibly inappropriate. Why it's encouraged, baffles me." She said. Jayce frowned. "And your opinion on Viktor?" He asked. Mel sighed. "Your food is getting cold-" "Answer the question please." Jayce said. She looked at him. "He's weak. If you were to put him in a leadership position, he'd crack in seconds." She said. "This doesn't have to do with their background, does it?" Jayce asked. Mel was quiet.
Jayce sat back in his chair looking at Mel. "Every student we've had from Zaun has done something wrong or doesn't even complete their time at the academy" "Y/n is a doctor and Viktor is an engineer" Jayce said. "Y/n is having an extremely personal relationship with her patient and Viktor never leaves the lab." Mel said. "So you think the people of Piltover are superior?" Jayce asked. "To a degree." She said sipping on her drink.
"I caused an explosion that took out six blocks." Jayce said. "Yes but-" "Heimerdinger is hesitant with progress." "I'm aware-" "Caitlin has been babied to hell and back by her overbearing parents and has no idea what the rest of the world is like." "I know this Jayce" "The Kiramann's are overbearing parents." "I know" "and you have some sort of superiority complex that makes you think you know everything. Guess what Mel? You don't. Piltover isn't perfect, it's just livable." Jayce said. She looked at Jayce.
"Where is this even coming from?" Mel asked. "Y/n and Viktor are my friends Mel. They mean a lot to me. I know Viktor has been through so much so if he's able to find happiness, then damn it, I say the man needs to go for it." He said. "This is why I didn't want to discuss this-" "We need to Mel if we're in a relationship." Jayce said. Mel sighed. "Jayce, you asked for my opinion, I warned you that you would not like it." "These aren’t just my friends Mel. They are my family. It matters on if you like them." Mel looked at Jayce and sighed. "Can't we just pretend that this never happened?" "The hell is with you just avoiding conflict?" Jayce asked. "I'm not changing my mind." "And I'm not changing mine." Mel said. The two stared at each other.
Jayce came back from lunch and walked in on you and Viktor smiling and laughing. "So then- Dad proceeded to run all the way down the mountain as me and mom watch him run fron squirrels." You said making Viktor laugh. You smiled before noticing Jayce. "How was lunch?" You asked him. "Uh not good." He said. "Was today the day you decided to eat the mysterious gray blob? Dude that was a bad idea, I did that once, threw up for a week." You asked. "No uhm.. me and Mel broke up." He said. You looked at him with a frown. "Oh geez, I'm sorry Jayce" you said. "Don't be. She didn't like you guys, it was a deal breaker." Jayce said. "You just figured out she didn't like us?" Viktor asked. "Yeah? Why?" Jayce asked. "...No reason." Viktor said.
When you all went home, you immediately changed. "Are you okay?" Viktor asked. "I am so sore oh my god." You whined. Viktor let out a "aw" and kissed you. "You know, a bath can help." He said. You shook your head. "Not right now." He sat on the couch and you laid down, your head in his lap. "Are you ready for tomorrow?" You asked. "It's just a consultation, I think I'll be fine" he shrugged. You didn't want to tell him that if he came back better than last time, you'd have to resign as his doctor. You didn't want to upset him.
You looked in his eyes as he read, him looking down. "Is something wrong?" Viktor asked. "Nope. Just admiring." You said making him smile. He kissed your forehead and you smiled. Still, that subtle sadness seemed to pain you inside. You were good at hiding it, but how were you going to do this? You had to go back to Zaun, you had to do this.
You stood in the doctor's office with Viktor as the doctor took a look at his papers. "I can't believe I'm saying this but, Viktor, you're doing fantastic." He said. Viktor took a small breath of relief. "Y/n you did a fantastic job at taking care of him, honestly I'm impressed." He said. "Thank you Zimmer." You said. Viktor could tell you were strangely tense. "Do you two know each other?" Viktor asked. "She did a residency at my hospital." Zimmer said, not looking up from the clipboard. "Ah." Viktor nodded. "From the looks of it, you're doing great. I'm going to add two more medications, but we'll ease you off of the ones for your leg." He said. "Told you." You mumbled making Viktor smile. "Either way, you're good to go, looks like you'll be coming back to Zaun after all." Zimmer said to you. Viktor rose a brow turning to you. "What?" "He doesn't know?" Zimmer asked.
"No... He doesn't." You admitted. "Wait, what is he talking about?" Viktor asked. You swallowed hard. "Let's talk in the hall." You muttered. You both left, Viktor looking at you. "It had been a week and you hated me so I made a deal with Heimerdinger... The moment the doctor said you were better I would go back to helping people in Zaun... I didn't know we'd-" "So you were just going to leave without telling me!?" Viktor asked. "No, I never- Viktor I wanted to tell you but it never seemed like a good time- we were happy I didn't want to ruin that." You said. Viktor sighed, running a hand over his face.
"So this is it? I don't get to see you after this?" Viktor asked. "No- No. I'll visit on weekends, I'll take days off, you will still see me Viktor I swear." You said. Viktor looked at you and then sighed. "This wasn't why you were powering down on helping me in the beginning, was it?" Viktor asked. "No. Viktor... I genuinely want to you succeed. I made the deal because I figured you wanted me gone." You said. Viktor nodded. "We'll... we'll make this work."
That was easier said than done. Once you left, you found yourself drowning in work. The weekend deal became something that happened every now and again. Viktor felt like he was losing you. He wasn't seeing you as much, he was working longer hours, he wasn't with you. Jayce noticed a decline in Viktor's mental state and decided to handle this himself.
You were working in Zaun, helping someone with moving boxes when Jayce cleared his throat. You looked over. "Jayce? What are you doing here?" You asked. "Came to talk to you." Jayce said. "About?" "Viktor." "Is he okay?" You asked. "Well, physically yeah, he's okay. Mentally, not so much." He said. You frowned. "Y/n he needs you. He needs you there with him." He said. You sighed. "Jayce, I'm not needed there." You said. "...funny you should say that."
Viktor sat in his chair, staring at the mechanical parts. Jayce walked in and sat back at his desk. "You hear they got a new doctor in the infirmary?" Jayce asked. "Mm" Viktor muttered. "Maybe you should go meet them, just in case they don't have your information or something." Jayce suggested. "I'm sure they do Jayce." Viktor said, looking at his work. "I mean, I do still have that entire folder on you the size of a novel. I say I'm set." You said making him freeze. He turned around seeing you. "Heimerdinger offered me a position here. I took it." You said. Viktor stood up and looked in your eyes. "What about Zaun?" "I had someone else fill my position. I'll still go there sometimes to check on things but-" he hugged you, you smiling. "I love you Viktor." You said softly. He pulled away looking in your eyes. "I love you Y/n" he said smiling.
"I don't suppose there's a lesson on asking your boyfriend to let you move in with them, is there?" You asked. He chuckled. "Step one: Ask." "Can I just move in already?" You asked. "Step two: Yes." He nodded making you laugh before he kissed you. "On the brightside, the injuries here are less tragic. You know I got a kid in there with the nurse who fucked up his wrist doing a keg stand?" You asked. "How do you-" "Plain stupidity Jayce. Plain stupidity" you told him making Jayce snort. Viktor kissed your face and you smiled. "Doctor Y/n... we got a new one. His idiot friend who tried to jump a-" the nurse snickered. "A bench. And hit a lightpost somehow." She laughed. "....my god these kids are fucking stupid it's almost an art." You said before leaving.
Viktor smiled watching you leave. To him you were his rock. You were his world, the one light he had that kept him from going to a dark place. You were his everything. Viktor went home with you that night with the happiest smile across his face. This love, it was accidental yes. But he loved you. To him you were everything.
To him you were simply the best.

DL Fantasy RPG Classes Headcanons
So I actually have many DL fantasy AUs, the vast majority of which are an excuse for me to self-ship with Shin but in the process of coming up with one of them I ended up sorting all of the boys into RPG classes and I thought I might as well share it.
Quick note, this is mainly based on Pathfinder classes because that’s the fantasy system I’m most familiar with and I tried to assign every character a different class just because I think that makes things more interesting.
Shu - Summoner
Okay so I really struggled when it came to picking out a class for Shu because we know he can be good in a fight when he actually puts the effort in but getting him to put that effort in is another matter. I couldn’t really picture him as being any of the core classes for one reason or another (either because I didn’t think they suited his skillset or his personality) and after a bit of digging through more obscure classes, I eventually settled on summoner. This is because summoner’s are capable of taking down enemies, but they do so by summoning a creature they have a close bond (known as an Eidolon) which then does most of the job for them which I personally think works a lot better for Shu rather than a class with a more direct fighting style.
As a side note, Eidolon’s take on the form of some sort of fantastical creature, I personally imagine Shu’s looking like a water horse or a kelpie in it’s horse-like form
Reiji - Alchemist
So unlike with Shu, this one was super easy for me. Reiji canonically like tinkering with chemicals, in a fantasy setting that automatically makes him an alchemist. If we want to get super specific, then as you’d expect he ends up focusing on poisons, but he’s skilled in other areas of alchemy too. As a general rule however, he dislikes using mutagens (potions that let an alchemist transform into a more beast like form, upgrading their physical stats at the expense of their mental ones), and has spent years trying to find a way to make them so he can get the physical bonus without suffering any of the negative effects.
Ayato - Fighter
I went with the fighter class for Ayato because I don’t see him as being some sort of complex spellcaster who keeps their distance from a fight or any sort of support class. In a fight, Ayato’s the sort to charge in and get stuff done, which is exactly what a good fighter does, he doesn’t need anything more complicated or finickity.
Kanato - Sorcerer
I definitely didn’t want to give Kanato a strength-based class, because I while I certainly wouldn’t pick a fight with him, he’s not really in the same league as someone like Subaru. I also don’t see him as a support class and I think making him a spellcaster works well with what we see of his abilities in canon. I definitely don’t think Kanato has the temperament I would associate with a wizard so I went with the sorcerer class. For anyone who isn’t aware of the difference, wizards are ordinary people who learn magic from books while sorcerers have an innate gift with magic thanks to magical ancestry. Admittedly I was a little tempted to make Kanato a necromantic wizard because of the doll room stuff, but actually I think making him a sorcerer with the undead bloodline works just as well if not better.
Laito - Rogue who makes everyone believe he’s a bard
So for a while I was really tempted to make Laito a dual-class because I feel like he fits with some of the RPG bard stereotypes and I do like the idea of him being able to cast magical illusions (like he does in HDB if memory serves) but his cunning and manipulative abilities also made me want to make him a rogue. At the end of the day however I can’t really picture Laito taking on the role of a bard in a combat situation (or rather I can’t picture him being helpful to the party in the way a bard is usually meant to be). I can however, very much picture him being a sneaky rogue who greatly surprises all of the people he’d fooled into thinking he was a run of the mill bard when he then stabs them in kidneys and pushes them off of the nearest high object.
Subaru - Barbarian
A strength-based class with rage abilities? Say no more. But yeah, this was another easy one for me and honestly there isn’t much more I can say to justify it because I mean *gestures at the start of this paragraph*
Ruki - Investigator
I was a bit torn with Ruki because part of me wanted to make him a warlock with Karl as his patron because I love that it would mirror some of his backstory in canon but at the end of the day, I just don’t think the warlock class really suits Ruki beyond the thematics. The investigator class, on the other hand, fits him much better. It’s an intelligence-based class with a focus on deduction and strategy and I don’t think anything else could fit Ruki better than that.
Kou - An actual bard
No, I didn’t go with bard for Kou just because of the idol thing (although admittedly it might have been a factor). I mainly went with the bard class because I wanted to give Kou a class that was charisma-based (as Kou is a high charisma character if ever I’ve seen one) and also not solely focused on fighting. While Kou might have gone head to head with Subaru in More Blood, as a general rule, I don’t see him as as much of a melee fighter as some of the other characters, and I actually think he’s one of the few who works well as a support class.
Yuma - Druid
I was kind of tempted to make Yuma a barbarian and in a way I still am because he’s definitely a physical combatant but without the style of an actual fighter. However I do really like the idea of making him a class that’s connected to nature so in the end I went with druid. While druids are spellcasters, I picture him as mainly using wild shape to transform into a bear and engage in melee combat and honestly I think that fits quite well. I’m also pretty sure there is some scene somewhere that involves him manipulating plants (although I would have to go searching for it) so... druid it is.
Azusa - Monk
Okay, hear me out for a minute with this one. I had a bit of a hard time picking out a class for Azusa, as I don’t really feel like a spellcaster class quite fits him but I had a hard time picturing him as one of the more physical combat-based classes because I feel like his main skill is his pain tolerance. I settled on the monk class, however, because it lets him act as a defender without being particularly skilled with a weapon and monks get really good saving throws right off the bat (these are things that let you negate or minimise effects/damage) which I think fits Azusa’s strong points best.
Carla - Wizard
With the amount Carla uses magic in the games, even if he is also skilled with a sword, he had to be some kind of spellcaster. I ended up going with wizard because I definitely think Carla fits with the whole studious stuck-up stereotype and it gives him access to some of the best spells. Additionally it’s an intelligence-based class and I actually think the relatively low-HP works pretty well as it fits with him having a poorer constitution thanks to Endzeit.
Shin - Ranger with a wolf companion
I was initially a bit stuck for Shin because I wanted to make him a class that was centred on physical combat, because we know in canon he usually likes to fight with a sword, but I also wanted to incorporate some magical abilities in there because he does periodically use them. I briefly thought about making him a druid because it would let him keep the ability to transform into a wolf but I don’t feel like he has a strong connection with nature so that didn’t sit right with me. Then I remembered that rangers are a thing and they can have animal companions and I was instantly sold on the idea.
Rangers are martial characters and can engage in melee combat but unlike fighters they do have some spellcasting ability without any of the moral implications that might come from being a paladin and honestly I think the class fits Shin perfectly.
Kino - Warlock (technically this is the Witch class in Pathfinder but I just think Warlock sounds cooler ;-;)
I was very tempted to make Kino a sorcerer but I want to stick to my one class per boy rule to keep things interesting and after thinking about it for a while, I do really like the idea of Kino as a warlock with some sort of crow-themed patron. For one it fits with his powers coming in late in canon (i.e. as a warlock, he’d only get magic after forming a pact with his patron) and it would let him have a crow familiar, which also ties in with canon. Ultimately I just like the idea of Kino as a tricky spellcaster and I think warlock works best with that image.
Bonus:
Yui - Cleric
A character that acts mainly as a healer/support thanks to powers from the divine? Can you think of anything more suited to her? Yui is another character where I knew exactly which class I’d match her with without having to think about it too much. For me cleric Yui just works (and if you’d rather think of her taking on a combatant role, then just picture her using channel smite to literally smite down her enemies with divine power).

89/100 Days of Productivity
The past couple of days have been a wild ride to say the least! I finally started physical school after so long of sitting behind a screen and I couldn't be happier or more excited. It is honestly much easier to remain focused in a classroom than it is on my bed lol. And then, barely a week into physical school, I came down with a stomach infection. And I mean this very literally coz I fainted due to dehydration ://
But anyway, I took some time off to recover and am now feeling much better :)
These are just some pics I clicked while studying today. Since I haven't been able to do much the past few day, today, I hope to:
- Study Transport in Plants in Biology
- Write an essay in french
- Write an essay in english
- Study Chemical Bonding in Chemistry
- Watch the recordings of my physics lectures and make notes
- Complete physics assignments (2)
It is a fairly long list but I hope I manage to complete atleast a few tasks~

Note
now that we have everybodys coven sorted out, is it time for palismen assignment?👀
OH HELL YEAH.
However! Before we get started, some quick notes!! 1.) I'm basing the science team's palismen on their personalities, traits, and aesthetics. (Also, it's been a while since I saw HLVRAI fully, so I might be quite rusty!!)
2.) I'm not going to pick just one animal because that would be WAY TOO difficult; instead, I'll list a few with explanations!!
3.) This post might be a tad bit long, so I'm going to put a read more just in case!!
4.) AS ALWAYS, PLEASE SHARE YOUR GUYS' IDEAS! I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM
Now, with that out of the way! Let's get into it!!
Coomer: Mantis Shrimp II Griffin II Owl II Octopus (?)
With Coomer's love for wrestling and fighting, the mantis shrimp would be a perfect match as not only is it one of the strongest animials ever, but it actually has the strongest punch in the world; perfect for someone who started an underground boxing ring.
As for a griffin, not only does it fit Coomer's overall aesthetic/energy, they symbolize strength, courage, and bravery which, once again, fit Coomer perfectly! (Even if his courage leads them to rushing in and getting abducted by ropes for the umpteenth time /j)
An owl would also work due to Coomer's vast knowledge on a wide variety of topics, with most of them being stray Wikipedia articles and...other things...
As for an octopus, it was a little joke, a little hee-hoo, as I couldn't seem to help myself to compare Coomer's extendo-limbs to octopus tentacles. But now it's grown on me and I just had to include it!!
Bubby: Cat II Ram II amalgamation (mash-up of animals)
Bubby's personality and nature would fit perfectly with a cat's, as not only would they prefer to be somewhat independent, arrogant, and act somewhat impulsively. But it's not all bad! They're also rather playful; albeit playing dangerous pranks here and there, curious, and actually care about others' wellbeing deep down-once they meet the right people, of course.
Due to Bubby's brassy nature, stubborness, and hard-headedness, a ram would also fit them pretty well. They'd rather stick by, and even defend, their own opinion and would rather do things their own way, and there's no way of changing that.
As Bubby is rather an algamation themselves, being created due to a bunch of scientists slapping a bunch of chemicals together until they created something stable, it'll make sense for them to have a palisman to reflect that. Not only that, but they'd be up for the idea of making their Palisman as badass as possible, and if they have to combine animals, so be it. (They actually really like the idea, and they couldn't just decide on ONE creature alone!!)
Tommy: Dog (Golden Retriever) II Mongoose II Bee
Without a doubt, a golden retriever. Not only does it represent Sunkist in a way, but also dogs represent friendship, loyalty, and faithfulness. In a way, Tommy's the glue to the science team, making sure they stick together and no problems arise between them; without them, the team's relationship would probably fold in like a stack of cards. Not only that, but if I may throw in my own personal head canon: I believe that Tommy made Sunkist with their dad as sort of a bonding experience, so it'll be equally heart-felt if G-Man helps them carve their palisman.
As for Mongoose, they represent defense and protection, which fits Tommy as they try their best to keep the science team out of danger, and they continue to do an excellent job of doing so. They were also the only one there to guide Gordon throughout the facility after getting betrayed and getting their hand chopped clean off. Also, fun fact! Mongooses can kill highly venomous snakes, so they're a force not to be fucked with! (Just like Tommy)
This is going to be extremely short, but just as dogs, bees also represent loyalty and friendship, so there's another option!
Benrey: Raven II Fox II Sloth II Cat
No doubt that Benrey loves to do a little bit of trickery here and there, so them having a raven palisman fits. Ravens are well-known tricksters, and their actions and presence differ from person to person. Some might see them in a bad light, believing all they do is bring bad luck, while others might think the complete opposite. (This could reflect how Gordon and the others might see Benrey. While the others believe Benrey means no harm and is generally a good person, Gordon usually thinks of them as nothing but a nuisance, trying to make his life a living hell.)
Just like a bee for Tommy, a fox is also another animal for Benrey, as foxes are often known for being tricksters and being cunning.
Despite being in LITERAL danger and being in a facility that's currently being overtaken by both aliens and the military, Benrey remains calm and nonchalant for some reason. And along with that, a sloth can also be a perfect fit for them! (No matter what's going on, or how many times Gordon yells and screams at them for their incompetence, Benrey would always be relaxed and dismissive.)
A cat is another option, and I'M SORRY, BUT BENREY GENERALLY REMINDS ME OF BOB FROM ANIMAL CROSSING-
Gordon: Wolf II Turtle II Dog II Bird
A wolf is a good fit for Gordon, as they are known for their intellect, persaverience, and leadership. No doubt that Gordon's intelligent as they worked at Black Mesa and got a PhD in Theoretical Physics, but they could also come up with plans on the fly whenever something goes haywire. As for persaverience, no matter what life threw at him on his absolutely WORST DAY EVER, he still got through everything and made it out of Black Mesa alive and well (sort of). Leadership speaks for itself, as he was the defacto leader of the science team, guiding the group out of the hell-hole they used to call their job.
A turtle is quite similar, not to mention, generally, Gordon's quite reserved and easygoing whenever he's not in the face of danger, or getting ambushed and getting betrayed, or getting attacked by the military and aliens, or-
Just like Tommy, Gordon could have a dog palisman. Not only is he rather vigilant and loyal (despite when others are not), but he's easygoing and easy to strike up a conversation with. He couldn't help that during the whole resonance cascade, he was screaming his head off and appeared rather tense. He couldn't help himself, as that had to be one of the most stressful situations he had ever experienced; and he just wanted to make sure they all made it out alive. (Also this could also be a reference)
HAVING A BIRD PALISMAN IS DEFINITELY A REFERENCE.

author’s note: hi guys! this is based off of a conversation i had with @velvetfireworks about dozing off in class hehe ^^ it’s pretty cringey and cheesy but i thought it was cute :> enjoy!~
genre: fluff
warning: none, just school being sucky and some nerdy chemistry puns bc i love science
word count: 1.7k words

“Each carbon atom is sp3 hybridised and covalently bonded to four other carbon atoms to form a tetrahedral structure, making it insoluble in water and...”
I’m so tired.
The lecturer droned on and on in his awfully monotonous voice, his words going right over your head. You rubbed your face exasperatedly and sat up straight in your chair, trying your best to stay awake.
Maybe you should have gotten more rest last night. But how could you? Especially given all the assignments that were due this week. You groaned. Either way, you just wanted this class to be over.
Your eyes flicked to the clock mounted on the wall at the front of the hall, watching painfully as it ticked at an agonisingly slow pace.
Just… half an hour more…
You shook your head to will the sleepiness away, tightening the grip on your pen as you attempted to listen to the lecture once more. But the exhaustion from your allnighter last night was too much, and it fizzled out any determination you had to stay awake. Your body seemed to act against the pleas of your mind, and your eyelids slowly began to droop.
No! Need to... listen… to...
Your eyes eventually drifted shut and you felt instant relief wash over you. As much as you wanted to stay awake, you had no more energy to pry your eyelids apart.
Okay… Maybe just… five minutes…
You leaned back in your chair and gave in to your exhaustion, letting yourself be overtaken by sleep.
A few minutes passed and finally, you began to stir, your brain slowly starting back up again after your short nap.
Mmm, my pillow… So soft… Maybe I can sleep for a while longer— Wait.
Your eyes snapped open.
I don’t have a pillow.
You rubbed your face sleepily and assessed your situation, your eyes widening in horror as you realised you had ended up falling asleep on the shoulder of the person next to you.
“Oh my- I am so sorry!” you jerked away from them, the top of your head colliding with their chin.
“Ow-”
“SORRY SORRY SORRY, I’M SO SORRY!” you apologised profusely.
In your frenzy, you knocked your pencil case off your table, sending your stationery flying. You cursed under your breath and fumbled around, trying to get your things — and yourself — together. The stranger bent down and helped to pick up some of your pens, and although you were grateful, it deepened the guilt you felt in the pit of your stomach for causing them so much inconvenience.
“I’m so sorry,” you repeated again, turning to face him.
He chuckled. “For a smart girl, you sure have some limited vocabulary,” he said, approaching you and handing you back your pens. You scoffed at the backhanded compliment but kept your smile nonetheless.
“Thank you… uh…” you trailed off, not knowing how to address him.
“The name’s Kuroo Tetsuro.”
“Mine is L/N Y/N!” you smiled politely. “Thank you, Kuroo.”
You were now very much awake and able to take in his appearance, an opportunity you missed during the earlier commotion. He wasn’t dressed in anything too outlandish; it was rather simple honestly — a white tee, a black jacket, some black joggers with a red stripe going down the side, and matching red shoes to accentuate the pop of colour. His jet black hair was spiked up as well, but strangely, not all of it. For some reason, he allowed his bangs to fall across the right side of his face instead of spiking it up like the rest. It was unusual, but strangely... rather charming.
It’s not very polite to stare, you know.”
You blushed at his comment and whipped your head to look at anything else but him.
“I- I wasn’t staring!” you denied, hoping your face wasn’t as red as it felt.
“Sure you weren’t,” he smirked.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t stop smiling. Who was this guy? You’d barely even met him, yet you felt so comfortable around him. It was like you were naturally drawn to him. Attracted, even. You shook your head and cleared your throat, pushing those thoughts to the back of your mind.
“So uh, how much did I miss?” you asked.
“We just finished up the rest of this chapter on chemical bonding,” he replied. You groaned, dreading how much you’d have to study tonight in order to catch up on what you missed during the lecture. There was no way this could get worse.
And of course, just as you thought that, a dark splotch on Kuroo’s jacket caught your eye and you mentally slapped yourself as your eyes widened in embarrassment.
“Please tell me that isn’t what I think it is…” you said as you buried your face in your hands.
Confused, Kuroo followed your line of sight until it landed on a wet spot on his jacket, just below the curve of his shoulder — the very one you were sleeping on. He made a face and you had never felt more embarrassed in your entire life.
“Oh my gosh, please let me make it up to you! I’ll buy you lunch!” you sputtered out. You had to repay him somehow, not just because you’d used him as a pillow during Chemistry class but because there was now a huge spot of your drool on his clothes to show for it.
He chuckled at your flusteredness. “Lunch sounds great.”
He suggested going to his favourite food place, claiming it had the best grilled salted mackerel pike in the world. You agreed and followed him — it was only fair he chose where to eat after everything you’d put him through. As you neared the stall, you caught a whiff of the delicious grilled fish, causing your mouth to water and you licked your lips excitedly. The waitress greeted you at the entrance and motioned you to follow her inside as she led you to your seats.
“A table for two for the lovely couple,” she gestured towards the table. “Enjoy your date!” she smiled.
Your cheeks started to heat up and you shook your head vigorously at the misunderstanding. “N-no! This isn’t-” you tried to correct her but your protests fell on deaf ears as she was already walking away.
“Wow, do you not want to go on a date? You wound me,” he placed his hand over his heart in mock hurt.
“NO NO NO IT’S JUST-”
“Oh, so you do want to go on a date with me?”
“WHA- NO- I MEAN-”
“I’m teasing, kid,” he laughed and ruffled your hair. “Sit down.”
You let out a sigh as you both took your seats. You were a complete mess today. He didn’t seem to mind though. In fact, he seemed to find it pretty amusing.
You peered over your menu to look at the boy sitting across you. It was hard to believe you’d only met a while ago considering you were now having lunch at his favourite food place, talking like you were old friends. And you couldn’t help but feel something warm starting to bubble within your chest.
“Staring again?” he asked without even needing to look at you. You quickly snapped out of your thoughts.
“NO!” you retorted and lifted the menu up to cover your red face.
The two of you placed your orders and the rest of lunch went without a hitch. You were surprised with how easily conversation came with Kuroo and how naturally you guys got along together.
“So, grilled salted mackerel pike huh?” you asked.
“Yeah, this place is famous for it. It’s my favourite food,” he replied in between mouthfuls. “Docosahexaenoic acid is good for the brain, you know.”
“Wow, didn’t know you were such a nerd.”
“Better than someone who sleeps in class and drools on people.”
“HEY!”
Everything was just so easy with him, and your mind kept drifting back to the waitress’s words. Was this really a date? And more importantly, did you want it to be a date? You’d only just gotten to know him a few hours ago but the chemistry between you was undeniable. The warm feeling in your chest returned and honestly, you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want to hold on to it a little longer. But lunch was coming to an end and you knew you’d have to let go.
“That was a great meal,” Kuroo said, satisfaction written all over his face. Thanks for the ‘date’ kid,” Kuroo chuckled at the term the waitress used. Your heart skipped a beat and you willed yourself not to blush again or give anything away.
“You’re welcome, old man,” you smiled innocently at the term you used. He’d kept calling you ‘kid’ so it was only fair that you returned the favour. You’d never admit it but you secretly liked it that he gave you a nickname. He smiled at you and shook his head at your silly antics.
Both of you stood outside the shop, not really knowing what else to say. You knew it was time to part ways since you’d already given him what you owed, but neither of you wanted to say goodbye.
“Well, I guess I’d better get back home… I’ve got to catch up on what I missed out during the lecture anyway,” you laughed nervously, trying to break the silence.
“Yeah, I guess this was a good bonding session, huh,” he grinned lopsidedly, but you could tell it didn’t quite reach his eyes. Even so, you laughed at his dorkiness. You were going to miss it.
“Well, I’ll get going then,” you said, turning to leave. “Oh and uh, sorry about your jacket,” you smiled sheepishly.
Kuroo perked up in sudden realisation. “Oh wait! Speaking of…” he closed the distance between you, rummaging through his bag and fishing out the black jacket he’d previously taken off. “Here,” he said, shoving it into your arms.
You looked at him and raised an eyebrow. “What’s this? A keepsake?” you snickered.
“Pfft, you wish,” he smirked. “It has your saliva on it. You wash it,” he said.
You cringed at the truth in his words and folded it over your arms. “Alright, I’ll wash it and give it back to you tomorrow.”
He grinned devilishly with a mischievous glint in his eye, and suddenly you understood his true intentions. You couldn’t help but smile like an idiot.
“Good. Now I’ve got an excuse to see you again tomorrow.”
Damn this clever nerd.
He’s good.
