Yesterday my friends and I went to a Free Palestine protest. These things are known for getting pretty intense, especially with police presence, so I spent all morning praying to Ra and Horus, to provide us all with strength and protection.

As we marched down the streets, I felt so many eyes on me. Some were cheering in solidarity, others looked annoyed. Every time the clouds parted and the sunlight shown down on us, I felt Ra’s pride. I could feel him empowering every chant and stomp and pound of the drums. In that moment I truly felt like one of his soldiers, upholding his love for all of his children. With Horus by my right side I felt invincible, I was able to stare down the cops knowing that they could not harm us. And they didn’t, not a single pig got in our way. They read our signs and looked away in shame, I saw that shame, and even if it didn’t compel them to make serious life changes, I know that it affected them.

With Lord Ra looking down on me, I truly feel like I can do anything. I know that I can confidently fight for what is right. I know that when I am under his light, no evil can touch me. I can be his warrior, I can be the change I need to see.

Free Palestine, Free Sudan, Free the Congo, Give the land back. From the river to the Sea.

Ra, my Lord, thank you endlessly.
