Trying to unlearn that enduring pain isn’t something noble as a disabled person is wild cus I have to regularly remind myself that using mobility aids isn’t an admittance of defeat or lazy

After little Samuel died, they should’ve had a doctor with Brittle Bone Disease swing through the hospital working a case. It’s tragic what happened to him, April and Jackson, and Arizona explained the disorder better than half the real-life ER techs I’ve met. But it would’ve been cool to let them (and viewers) see: It’s not always terminal. Some of us go on to lead full, fantastic lives.

2nd time asking, but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD INTERACT WITH ME IF YOU HAVE
○ Osteogensis Imperfecta
○ Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
I've not met another who has either of those. I'm approaching my 20s and I've not met another who has the same or at least one of my disabilities.
Please. I just want to know that there ARE other people out there like me. It's been my dream since I was a kid.

Here’s some positivity for systems with weak or fragile bones!
Whether your system has osteogenesis imperfecta/brittle bones disease, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, a calcium or vitamin D deficiency, or any other problems or disorders that cause weak, soft, brittle, or fragile bones, this one’s for you!!
We wish for you a future full of health, rest, and healing! We hope those who surround you will treat you with kindness, and that you are able to access the accommodations you need in order to live your best lives.
To those who have to practice extreme caution or avoid doing activities they love due to their weak bones, we want you to know that your heartache is valid and worth expressing! It’s not fair that some folks end up or are born with disabilities that prevent them from achieving their dreams or pursuing their passions. We want to support and uplift you however we can, and encourage you to try and live a full and happy life despite your limitations!
To those who have broken bones more than once in the past and live in fear of breaking another bone in the future, our heart and thoughts go out to you! Breaking or fracturing a bone can be a terrifying, incredibly painful experience. If you are currently healing from a broken bone, we wish you a swift, painless recovery! Please don’t push yourself, and try to take it easy!
To those who are unable to afford treatment for their weak bones, we genuinely feel for you! It is becoming more and more expensive to be disabled, and working with insurance and hospital billing departments is often a nightmare. We hope that your situation will change in the future, and that soon you will be able to access the care you need in order to take care of yourself properly!
To those whose system formed due to trauma from their weak bones, be it from breaks or fractures, facing harassment and bullying, or dealing with medical trauma/abuse, we want you to know that yes, your trauma is valid and it was enough. No one should have to go through what you’ve been through, and you deserve to recover with plenty of love, self-compassion, and self-acceptance along the way!
This disability pride month, remember that if you have weak or fragile bones, you are a welcome, integral, and cherished part of the disabled community! You are allowed to take up space here, and are encouraged to be vocal about your experiences and what you need in order to live your best lives! Thank you so much for reading, and have an absolutely stellar day!

If you made a poll asking if black dudes could be twinks, there'd be nothing but positive feedback(!)
I swear, there's a sliding scale where the further away someone looks like YOU, the more you're likely to dehumanise them.
People get rightfully angry about racism and sexism and homophobia and other bigotry, but bigotry against little people, dwarves, other short people is still seen as funny.
Most people agree that travelling freak shows were dehumanising and awful, but it's like the organised bit is the part they don't like.
Little people and dwarves existing in the world out on their own are no less targets for everyone's amusement than they were in circuses, but now people can still think they're not doing anything wrong because they didn't buy a ticket before humiliating someone.
John Mulaney makes a joke about little people using a slur, but it's funny because it's not as bad as racism and people don't give a fuck about little people because they're funny entertainment.
Michael J Anderson has osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bone disease. His short stature was caused by frequent broken bones that didn't heal properly.
He's a living person.
I'm sick of the dehumanisation of disabled people, of little people and dwarves and people of short stature especially, but the fact that no one cares about it?
You don't even think about it.

An angel already provided her with a wheelchair, but she is in dire need of a suitable living environment. Please read her story on the official nonprofit gofodunme page to learn more.

how to explain to my non-disabled friends who just ✨vibe✨ the experience of being so strung-out exhausted, you look away from your laptop for a sec & imagine your humerus cracking thru your skin so vividly you actually hear the twig sound. like, "huh. if I trip trying to refill my soda, that's what'll happen. goofy 😌" and then I go back to typing

Man, is it too much to ask for representation for osteogenesis imperfecta?
Representation where the person is NOT dead hours after birth or an evil psycho who kills people because they're looking for someone who's 'invincible'?
*Cough* Grey's Anatomy and that Samuel L. Jackson movie. *Cough*
Hell, I'd love to meet other people who have O.I! I've never met anyone else who does, and I'm almost 19. It feels very isolating.

2FT CRIPPLED LADY HOSPITAL ADMISSION EXPERIENCE
PROVERBS 16:16 HOW MUCH BETTER TO GET WISDOM THAN GOLD, TO GET INSIGHT RATHER THAN SILVER! Hi all. It has been a world wind of a few months, I’ll be honest it has not been easy. My health is declining more and more and honestly it’s getting a little overwhelming and even a little scary. As you know from my last Vlog/blog, my Doctors were suspecting I had developed something called abdominal…
