17th November 2022-Winchester and home: Post 2 of 2-The wildlife
Key species seen today:
Peregrine Falcon: I brought my bridge camera in my work bag in the hope of making it eleven out of twelve months I managed a picture of a Winchester Peregrine in this year and I managed it seeing Winnie in the golden glow of sunlight on a lower reach of St. Thomas Church’s impressive tower. It was the first time in a little while I’d seen a Peregrine right in direct sunlight and she looked so beautiful, being in the sun was reminiscent of November and December 2019 when I first discovered their regular haunt St. Thomas Church for myself. It was sensational to see this epic and iconic bird species today which I never tire of it always feels so surreal seeing such an impressive bird in an urban environment, and it was interesting to see blood on her feathers presumably from prey. It was nice to see her moving about and flapping an eyelid over too. I took the first four pictures in this photoset of this bird today.
Woodpigeon: After Feral Pigeon in Abbey Gardens two weeks ago when I last had my bridge camera on an office working day it was this pigeon species’ turn to be photographed and admired by me among pretty autumn leaves, this time in one of the divine yellow trees by the grounds of Winchester Cathedral.
Blackbird: Possibly heard singing well at the cathedral in a tree it may have also been Robin and seen really well in the sun by the River Itchen where I ate lunch it was a key bird to see today, I took the eighth picture in this photoset of the one by the river.
Rabbit: A nice sight in the University of Southampton sports fields by Lakeside this morning.
Periwinkle: A flower I do admire that I saw well in Colebrook Street again beside a brightly autumnal coloured piece of hedge.
Today I also saw; Goldfinches in the bare tree out the front beautifully again, Feral Pigeon, a tit species flying into a bush I believe, yarrow, big bindweed folded away almost in bushes along the road beside Lakeside, orange poppy, groundsel, red deadnettle at Winchester Cathedral as the sixth picture in this photoset shows, yellow fumitory or yellow corydalis I believe by St. Thomas Church I’ve really enjoyed seeing this pretty yellow plant in Winchester the past few months, rosemary, other flowers/plants in Winchester including those in the fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth pictures in this photoset, rose hips, other berries and a nice grey mushroom by Lakeside. I also possibly heard Wren by the river.

AND THAT'S A WRAP ON WWDITS FILMING...[wails loudly]
I hope these actors know how much they have done for me, specifically. And how many times I have drawn their dumb faces dkjfhk.

(ID in alt and under cut)
ID: 1. Waist up of Guillermo and Harvey Guillén on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Harvey!' Harvey's skin is slightly tanner than Guillermo's, his hair is sun-bleached and curling freely over his forehead, and he is wearing a blue knit crop top and denim overalls. He is hugging Guillermo from behind with his chin on his shoulder, grinning up at the viewer. Guillermo, wearing a white shirt and brown patterned cardigan, is cupping Harvey's hands with his own over his chest and looking at him with a fond smile, cheeks pressed together.
2. Waist up of Nandor and Kayvan Novak on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Kayvan!' Kayvan's skin is a rich brown against Nandor's vampire pallor and his half-up hair and slightly longer beard are graying; he is wearing a dangly gold earring in his left ear and is wearing a lime green button up tee with a red watermelon pattern. He has picked Nandor up in a hug with his arms wrapped around his waist. Nandor, wearing a long brown kaftan under a orange diamond-patterned coat with short furred sleeves, has his right hand braced on Kayvan's shoulder and the other wrapped around his back. They are both grinning widely and looking at the viewer.
3. Waist up of Nadja, Nadja doll, and Natasia Demetriou on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Natasia!' Natasia is lightly tanned and has chest wavy length hair with bangs, dark brown at the roots with honey brown and blonde highlights throughout. She is wearing a periwinkle skirt and bandeau top with an outer layer of translucent chiffon in the same color, along with poofy off-shoulder chiffon sleeves, several rings, and a thin chain necklace with her name on it. Nadja and Dolly are matching in dark blue v neck gowns with a gold pattern and front buttons, their hair half up in twin horns. Nadja is grinning at the viewer, fangs out, and leaning heavily into Natasia's side, pressing their shoulders together. Dolly sits on their shared shoulder space, perched directly between their heads with her arms around them, smiling up at the viewer. Nadja's right arm is up under Dolly to support her legs. Natasia's right arm is bent upward like one might do to support a perching bird and her left is palming Dolly's knees to keep her in place. She is smiling over at the Nadjas, half bent over from their weight leaning on her.
4. Waist up of Laszlo and Matt Berry on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Matt!' Matt is pale (but clearly more alive than Laszlo), with wavy shoulder length hair streaked with gray and a graying beard that has been allowed to grow a bit further past his chin. He is wearing a plain white tee shirt, denim jacket, and silver chain necklace. Laszlo is wearing a red button up dashingly open at the collar under a dark blue waistcoat and lighter blue jacket with a darker damask pattern. They are standing mirrored, back-to-back with their arms crossed and shoulders pressed together, looking back over their shoulders at each other. Matt smiles at his character lazily while Laszlo offers him a mildly salacious smirk.
5. Waist up of Colin Robinson and Mark Proksch on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Mark!' Mark is standing facing the viewer with squared shoulders, wearing a blue and white plaid shirt with a chest pocket, only the top button undone. Were it not for the color and a slight shape change to his glasses, you wouldn't be able to tell him from his character. Colin is standing directly behind and to the right of him, wearing a brown v neck sweater over a beige collar and dull red tie. His head is tipped back and his mouth is open in a wide grin, eyes glowing bright blue behind his glasses. Mark glances at him from the corner of his eye with a slightly amused smirk.
6. Waist up of the Guide and Kristen Schaal on a white background with small yellow polka dots. Cursive red and gold script in the top left corner says 'Thank you, Kristen!' Kristen is pale in a human way with chin length curly brown hair and is wearing a loose empire waist black tank top under a translucent yellow chiffon top with a frilled neckline and elbow length balloon sleeves. The Guide is smiling open-mouthed at Kristen and wearing her usual black square cap, jacket, skirt, and gloves. They are back to back, elbows linked together to keep each other close, with Kristen leaning backward into the Guide so she stoops forward slightly. Kristen's far hand flashes a peace sign as she grins over at the Guide, tongue between her teeth. /end ID
This blush has been out for a while, but I never made an actual post for it so... here it is! It's just called blush, because to me it is THE BLUSH. I use it for every and any sim I make, ALWAYS.
It comes in 7 swatches: red, coral, pink, periwinkle, purple and a more intense version of the red and coral colors (they don't seem that different on regular sims, but you can see the difference on berry sims). The blush changed a bit from my previous releases, I improved the highlights, and the coral and periwinkle swatches are brand new.
The last 3 swatches were made with berry sims in mind! If you want a more natural color, you can change the hue with the slider in cas. In fact, this sim is using the purple swatch (you can see the changes I made to the sliders below).
With this blush, I always use this Skintone Set by @annamsblue, which I am using on the preview above. Here's how the blush looks without it (I also removed the misc details highlight):

3 pages of HLVRAI narrative doodles exploring a Benrey synesthesia headcanon:
Benrey watches Gordon having a breakdown and wailing incoherently, but his wails correlate with the pitch the colour orange has in Benrey's mind, which is also the colour he associates with laughter, and so he believes Gordon is laughing. That prompts him to go "yo, funny joke. what?", to which Tommy replies with a worried look, "I don't, this- I don't think Mr Freeman is laughing, Benrey-", which is overlapped by Dr Coomer similarly saying "I don't think he is laughing, Berry.". The orange sweet voice that Benrey had let slip while speaking pop in the moment of realisation.
Benrey telling Dr Coomer and Tommy, "bro, you gotta switch names. username update. colour's not right.". Above Dr Coomer and Tommy's heads are their name acronyms in the colours Benrey associates them with -- Dr Coomer's being yellow and orange, and Tommy's green, orange, yellow, and light blue. He then tells Gordon, "Feetman can keep his name though, 's green," which prompts Gordon to ask, "What's that supposed to mean?". Gordon's name is associated with the colours green and orange, like his HEV suit and glasses. Lastly, Benrey says to Bubby, "Bubby's cool too, i guess.". Bubby's name is associated with the colour periwinkle, which isn't too far from the blue he wears. Bubby responds with a satisfied, "Hell yes."
Gordon asks Tommy, "Wait, Tommy- Tommy," to which Tommy replies, "Yeah?", to which Gordon continues asking, "You can read sweet voice. So you can do that too? Hear colour and...names and...y'know what, I dunno. I'm not a psychiatrist or... whatever it is they-". Tommy cuts him off to confirm that yes, he can read sweet voice, but no he can't do the latter. He says, "No, I had to- to learn to read it from the- from scratch, Mr Freeman. But it wouldn't have been easier if I could. It would have been conf- it would have been worse." He continues to explain, "It's like- it's like if I- if we both imagined, uh, apples and mine were green but yours were red." Gordon tells him a regretful: "...you lost me, bud,", to which Dr Coomer responds, "Come now, Gordon! You must know what apples are. Everyone does!" and Bubby says, "Gordon, do you need to go back to kindergarten?"

A small series of "Flower Language" (and leaves) portraits for some gems. I definitely did research (though couldn't tell you the sources anymore) and picked stuff out for all the major characters but only finished these three. Actually I found the notes doc I made, helpfully with reference pictures, so I can tell you what each of these ones are and what they mean! Under the cut.
Coriander (background foliage, small ruffled leaves) - Hidden Worth
Peridot
Hollyhock (white, sort of trumpet shaped flowers) - Ambition
Euphorbia (small yellow flowers in clusters of three) - Persistence
Rose, yellow (...I think you know what a rose looks like.) - Jealousy
Clotbur (large three-pointed leaves) - Rudeness
Lapis Lazuli
Mourning Bride (large bunches of tiny white flowers) - "I have lost all"
Anemone (white star shaped flowers with deep blue middle) - Forsaken
Columbine, blue (Small white flower with long periwinkle outer petals) - Desertion
Jacob's Ladder (small purple flowers with long stamens) - "Come down"
Aloe vera (long thin spiked leaves) - Grief
Oak Leaves (wiggly? hopefully recognizable lol) - Bravery
I remember looking at a lot of different sources to get the kinds of meanings I was looking for. Not the usual stuff for bouquets that all mean varying levels of love and friendship and whatnot. So some of these could be kind of made up! You can never trust the internet. But I tried.
Saw this adorable art posted by @periwinkle-berries of Aziraphale and Crowley doing a puzzle, >>>Link Here<<<
And it got me thinking what their "puzzle dynamic" would be. I mean...
Who is the one collecting all the edge and corner pieces first?
And who is the one digging through the pile and somehow connecting middle pieces like little galapagos islands?
My headcanon?
Aziraphale likes puzzles end enjoys doing them by himself but when he wants Crolwey to join he purposely starts looking for the middle pieces first because he knows it will drive Crowley crazy and he'll simply "have" to step in to "do it properly".
So Crowley finds all the corners and edge pieces to put together first (with Aziraphales help). Then once the all edges are found they swap and Crowley just slides potential pieces over while Aziraphale puts them togther.
By the end, Aziraphale always offers Crowley to put in the final piece but Crowley always lets Aziraphale do it because he knows it's his favourite part (and knows that he only offers to be kind and really would rather do it himself).
I just, really wanted this so I did it. Xenoboy definition found here(link)
