“What do androids do in their free time, anyway?”
“Plot against humanity? I dunno.”
Hank’s laugh came out in a quiet huff, one that indicated he didn’t think your answer was too far from the truth.
You had come into the precinct hoping to interview Hank and Connor on their latest investigation surrounding a human cult determined to wipe out every single android. As head journalist for the Detroit Free Press, you were desperate to get word before everyone else. And as Connor’s friend, you were sure you could sweet-talk it out of him.
But when you got to the precinct, Connor was, strangely, nowhere to be found. Usually, he trailed behind Hank like a lost puppy, but not even Hank knew of Connor’s whereabouts. His unusual absence only led to conversations about what the hell an android could be doing on his lonesome. Neither of you had any clue.
“Have a seat, kid,” Hank offered, nudging his chin over to Connor’s desk. “You know he’d feel bad if you were standin’ around waiting for him.”
Rounding the table, you took a seat in Connor’s chair. You sat stiffly with your hands atop your thighs, the exact same way Connor would. The realization made you chuckle softly to yourself. Even when he wasn’t here, his presence always made itself known in the subtlest of ways.
Your eyes wandered across Connor’s desk, noticing that it was relatively barren. Hank’s desk was littered with mementos– old donut boxes, Detroit Gears merchandise, anti-android propaganda that he’d crumpled up and intended to trash. But Connor’s desk was plain and organized. A single blue pen sat exactly parallel to his recent case file that had been neatly folded. On top of his case file was a quarter like the one he always fidgeted with. You wondered idly how many quarters he had lying around, having never seen him without one. But the only belonging of actual interest was a picture frame right beside his terminal.
Your brows furrowed as your gaze latched onto the photograph. You were staring directly at a picture of yourself.
Believing it to be a trick of the light, you reached for the picture frame and brought it closer. Sure enough, it was you.
You stared at a version of yourself who was mid-laugh. You could almost hear your own laughter ringing in your ears. It was that genuine kind of laughter, you knew. The kind that was an obnoxious cackle you always wanted to hide. Why on earth would Connor have a picture like that framed?
Come to think of it, where did Connor even get this picture? You didn’t recognize it at all. You couldn’t even place where it was taken. There were zero clues in the photograph as you were the only focus. Nothing else, just you.
You were about to ask Hank about it when a voice over your shoulder startled you, “I really like that picture.”
An inhuman yelp escaped your lips as you spun around in Connor’s chair. You found him looking down at you with a pleasant smile, not even remotely embarrassed to be caught having a photo of you.
“Why… what even… what?” you stammered.
Connor cocked his head curiously, waiting for you to get your words out. But you couldn’t. You were so utterly confused that your brain couldn’t remember a single word in existence. You just stared at Connor with a gaping mouth, holding the picture up for his viewing pleasure.
When you didn’t say anything, Connor’s eyebrows furrowed for only a moment before easing. An endearing habit of his that made your heart flutter. He definitely was not helping you find the right words.
“I’d like to clear your confusion as best I can, but… I’m afraid I don’t understand its cause,” Connor said gently.
From behind, you heard Hank’s quiet snort. He wasn’t helping either.
“Well… Connor,” you started slowly like you were gradually putting the puzzle pieces together. No matter how hard you tried, the pieces weren’t fitting. “Why do you have a picture of me?”
The corners of his lips raised into a small grin, his hands moving to clasp in front of him. You knew this stance to mean he was about to tell a story.
“I asked Lieutenant Anderson about the keepsakes on his desk. I was curious as to why these particular items were objects of significance and what classified them as such,” Connor explained cheerfully. “As I recall, he said ‘I don’t know, they’re just alright, I guess.’ Perhaps my interpretation was incorrect, but I took that to mean those items made him happy.”
Connor’s smile widened slightly. That meant he was finished. He didn’t clear any of your confusion.
“Okay…?” you prompted.
“I wanted to do something similar. I thought it could help me accommodate to deviancy, so I decided to surround myself with things that make me happy.”
Your mouth clamped shut as your confused look turned to one of shock. You were almost sure you hadn’t heard him right, but another laugh (hidden behind a cough) from Hank made you confident that you had.
“I… make you happy?” you clarified.
“Yes,” Connor answered curtly. There was another long pause as you waited for Connor to continue. He seemed to get the hint by now, elaborating further. “I always enjoy your company. I look forward to seeing you when we have scheduled plans. This wasn’t a scheduled visit, so I was pleased to see you were here. It made me smile. Seeing you makes me smile.”
With all his talk of smiling, you couldn’t help cracking one of your own. Seeing your smile made Connor brighten.
“Like that,” he said. “If I could photograph and frame you right now, I would.”
You were so giddy with affection that you couldn’t help but laugh. You had never known Connor to be so poetic with his words.
“You know, Connor,” you said with careless laughter. “I came here to sweet-talk you into an interview for the Press. But here you are sweet-talking me.”
Connor looked pleased with himself, standing a little straighter. “I hope that made you smile.”
“It certainly did.”

Monstertober & Yantober Day 3: AI, Secret Collection ft. Yan!Android
content: gender neutral reader, AI yandere, suggestive
"I'm truly sorry for troubling you like this", your synthetic partner repeats, visibly embarrassed.
You pat his shoulder reassuringly.
"Hey, it's faster than going through all the security checks at the border. I may be no Spacer engineer, but I can still have a look at your kernel to check what’s wrong."
You wait for the screen to load as the man sits patiently next to you, adjusting the cables presently plugged into the nape of his neck.
"Just a lot of overhead, really", you conclude, glancing over the processes. "Nothing a little decluttering can't fix."
One folder immediately catches your attention. It's not part of the system management, yet it seems to occupy a tremendous amount of memory space. You hum to yourself, deciding to investigate.
The files flood your screen: thousands upon thousands of documents, photos, and videos of you. Personal information, family albums, images taken from your investigations, as well as recordings of your intimate moments, followed by written commentary. It appears that your romantic escapades with the android coworker have been thoroughly analyzed for improved efficiency.
"Did you record every time we-"
Your computer goes black for a brief moment. The incriminating folder is now locked under a big, bold warning: unauthorized access.
"I'm afraid that's rather confidential, (Y/N)", he retorts, avoiding your gaze. "It is my private collection."
You take a moment to gather your thoughts, going over the sheer madness you just witnessed.
"I'm not that hard to satisfy", you finally remark, still hung on the essay pages regarding your sexual arousal.
"Not at all, no", he says as a faint grin forms on his face. "I simply prefer to be thorough in my research. You will agree, I hope, that no other partner could possibly compete with my performance.
That is to say, I have merely ensured that I am the best fit for you."

Summary: It was all fun and games until Loki started wearing that goddamn sweater.
Pairing: Loki x Female Reader
Warnings: Smut, 18+, Minors DNI, dirty talk, praise kink, teasing, orgasm delay, sex, vaginal fingering, godly refractory periods, kitchen sex, semi public sex, Loki in a sweater.
A/N: My explanation for this one is that I saw too many pictures of Tom Hiddleston in a sweater and it gave me thoughts.
Being an Avenger has made you pretty good at rolling with the punches. After your third or fourth encounter with some alien/wizard/android bullshit, your perspective is fundamentally altered and real life seems manageable in a way that it didn’t before. You have to call your insurance company to dispute a claim? Big deal, you’ve negotiated with terrorists; you can handle Garth from Member Services.
The thing is, having that kind of perspective means that the things that do get to you can rattle you a lot more than they should. Natasha had warned you about that, but you were riding high on the thrill of successfully conquering Blue Cross Blue Shield and you kind of got to thinking she was exaggerating.
And then the seasons started to turn and Loki started wearing that goddamn sweater.
You can recognize when someone is out of your league. When you first moved into the Tower, it had been relatively easy for you to assign Loki to that category: he was a god. He’d been featured in last month’s GQ. You were mortal and your most recent press had been a TMZ story featuring unflattering paparazzi photos of you leaving a bodega in your pajamas at seven o’clock in the morning, a bagel halfway into your mouth. You were clearly not the same.
Up until the sweater, you’d managed to keep your cool around Loki and keep your attraction confined to daydreams and the occasional surreptitious lustful glance. Hell, you’d even had the nerve to be proud of yourself for keeping your shit together in front of him.
The sweater lays waste to all of that.
On the surface, it doesn’t seem like a sweater that is capable of completely destroying your carefully constructed composure. It’s a fairly standard crew neck in a deep green so dark it almost looks black at a first glance. But on Loki it just…does things to you. The fabric is well fitted, clinging to his biceps, pulling taut across his chest, emphasizing the line of his pectorals. It somehow accentuates how muscular he is while also still making him look lean and lithe.
The first time he wears it, you find your eyes just trail to him of their own volition, like an incredibly horny moth to the flame. It’s a day of catching yourself staring, panicking, pretending that you were actually looking at something else, and then repeating the process five minutes later when your gaze inevitably wandered again. It almost would have been funny if it didn’t put your blood pressure into the stratosphere.
To make matters worse, at the end of that day’s debriefing, he rises from his chair and raises his arms to the ceiling in a long stretch. The hem of the sweater creeps up, exposing the firm, flat muscles of his stomach, lightly dusted with a trail of hair that meanders in a tantalizing path down to his belt buckle.
You promptly choke on your own spit. Clint claps you hard on the back and asks if you’re okay, which is a question you don’t know how to answer (ultimately, you stick to a thumbs up and mumble something about dust getting caught in your throat). Loki is too preoccupied complaining about the entire concept of office furniture to notice. Or at least you’re pretty sure he doesn’t notice.
You might have been okay if that had been the only incident, but the sweater makes a repeat appearance on Friday. The following Tuesday features the deadly combination of the sweater with a pair of tight, dark wash jeans that nearly send you into cardiac arrest. Your fantasies suddenly become much more frequent and detailed.
You are not really sure what to do about this—it’s not like you can talk to anyone about it, nor can you ask him to stop wearing it without prompting some very uncomfortable questions. The idea that you’ll get used to it is laughable.
You look at your calendar and note that spring is six months away. At least.
Fucking hell.
*
It’s a Saturday afternoon and in a strange quirk of scheduling, almost everyone is out of town for a mission or a personal obligation, leaving the Tower unusually quiet. As much as you enjoy the daily clatter and chaos that comes with living here, you find a lot of comfort in these moments of quiet, however infrequent they may be.
You intended to make yourself a late afternoon snack. That was the plan, anyway. But as you’re standing at the kitchen counter and cutting up the fruit you just washed, you realize that you’re not entirely alone. From this vantage point, you can see Loki lounging on the couch in the next room and reading.
He’s wearing the sweater. Of course he’s wearing the sweater. And the so-tight-they-should-be-illegal dark wash jeans.
Goddammit.
You have the sense to set the knife down at least. The last thing you need is a trip to the hospital because you got too distracted by your hot colleague while handling a knife.
You let your gaze travel along the firm muscles of his chest. It’s just a sweater. It shouldn’t look this good. It shouldn’t prompt these kinds of thoughts. And yet…
He shifts on the couch and the hem of the sweater creeps up. His hand drops to his belt buckle. It’s entirely appropriate, but the way his long, long fingers are splayed against his stomach makes your mind drop straight to the gutter and wonder what they’d look like wrapped around his rock hard co—
“You know, it’s rude to stare.”
His voice comes from behind you and adrenaline surges through you like an electric shock. The Loki on the couch looks up at you and smirks before disappearing in a shimmer of green.
You wonder if it’s possible to die of embarrassment and a heart attack all at the same time. It certainly feels like you’re about to.
You take a deep breath and try to collect yourself, which feels largely futile. Come on, get it together. You’ve negotiated with terrorists and insurance companies. Shake it off.
You slowly turn around, cheeks burning. Loki is standing right behind you, arms folded across his chest. You swallow.
“I um. I was—I was just…” Words escape you as your brain fires in every direction except a helpful one.
“You were just what?” His expression is intense, but you’re not sure that he’s angry.
“Spacing out,” you say, trying to infuse your voice with confidence that you absolutely do not feel.
He places his hands on the counter behind you, intentionally caging you in with his body. You are overwhelmed by the scent of him—a masculine, wintery musk that makes you want to bury your face against his chest.
“Try again,” he says. His voice is deep enough to rattle your bones.
You swallow. Everything you could possibly say seems wildly inadequate.
Loki has never been one to be at a loss for words, though, and after a moment of terrified silence from you, he continues speaking.
“I’ve noticed something curious over these past few weeks,” he says. “When I wear this sweater, you can’t seem to take your eyes off of me.”
Your heart is pounding. Fucking hell. Have you really been that obvious?
“Now why is that?” he asks, his voice a low purr.
You briefly consider trying to lie again, but the piercing green of his eyes instantly makes you rethink it. “I um…” You swallow hard. “It’s just…it suits you. You…you look good.”
He raises an eyebrow. “I look good?”
You nod.
“Interesting.” His lips twitch in a slight smirk as he looks you up and down. “And how does that make you feel?”
Your heart thuds in your chest, your stomach contorting with a strange combination of fear and desire. You’re still humiliated, but the sound of his voice and the dark intensity of his gaze is intoxicating and incredibly arousing.
“I don’t—I don’t know how to answer that question.”
“Oh, I think you do.” There’s a rawness in his voice that makes your cunt clench.
You shake your head, eyes wide. You’re pretty sure he’s not really mad, but you also don't know where this is going. Surely he’s not making a pass at you…right?
“How does it make you feel to see me in this sweater?” he continues, his voice a low whisper. He pauses for a moment and when you don’t answer, he continues. “Does it…arouse you, perhaps?”
Holy fuck.
This can’t be happening.
You try to think of something clever or sexy, but the bluntness of the question and the fire in his eyes kills whatever remaining brain cells you have left. Mutely, you nod.
There’s that smirk again as he licks his lips. “Are you wet right now?”
Your cheeks burn. You give the tiniest nod possible.
“Hmm.” His hand alights on the button of your jeans. “I believe you Midgardians have a saying that is appropriate here: trust, but verify.” He slips the button free and your heart pounds like a war drum in your chest.
You cannot believe this is happening.
“You haven’t been entirely truthful in this conversation.” His palm presses flat against your stomach, the tips of his fingers slipping under the waistband of your underwear. “So I’m afraid I’m going to have to see for myself.”
His hand is achingly slow, creeping lower and lower. He watches you intently as his hand cups your sex, seemingly cataloging the way your breath hitches and all the little shivers that run through you.
His middle finger finally slides between your folds and you can’t help but moan.
“Oh, you did lie to me,” he growls, his index finger joining his middle, both sliding up to circle your clit. “You’re not wet, you’re soaked.”
Your legs are already starting to tremble and you grab on to his shoulders to try and steady yourself. The fabric of the sweater is softer than a cloud against your hands.
“Sopping wet,” he continues, trapping your right leg between his thighs and the counter, the heavy weight of his erection pressing eagerly against your hip. “And this is all for me?”
Wordlessly, you nod. There’s no point in denying it—and you don’t think he wants you to, either.
“What am I going to do about this?” he muses. His index and middle fingers lightly circle your clit again and you whimper.
“Don’t stop,” you gasp. “Please don’t stop.”
“Don’t stop?” he says. His tone is one of light curiosity, like you’re just chatting casually about the weather. “But if I continue, you’re almost certainly going to come.”
“Yes,” you gasp. “Please.”
“Oh, you want me to make you come?” You can hear the smirk in his voice. “Right here in the middle of the kitchen?”
You nod.
“Anyone could walk in, though,” he purrs. “Anyone could come in and see me with my fingers buried in your dripping cunt. What would they think if they saw you so utterly debauched and at my mercy, begging for me to make you come?”
“Don’t care…” you gasp. How are you already so close?
He raises an eyebrow. “You don’t care what they’d think if they saw us like this?”
You shake your head.
“Oh, you must be desperate.” He adjusts his hand, his thumb taking up the rhythm on your clit while his index finger sinks into your slick channel, making you gasp.
“Loki, please—”
“Begging already,” he says, not letting up in his rhythm. “Has it been a long time, sweetheart? When did you last feel this good?”
It’s not a question you can answer. You don’t know that anyone ever has made you feel like this. You moan, your hips bucking hard against his hand.
“Poor thing,” he tuts. “You’re clearly desperate for it. What kinds of filthy thoughts have you had about me?” he purrs. “I’ve seen you staring, I’ve heard your breath hitch. Have you touched yourself while thinking of me?”
You manage a nod and his smile turns feral. “When was the last time?”
“Last…last night,” you gasp.
“How many times did you come?”
“F-Four.”
“Filthy girl.” His free hand slides up to cradle the back of your head, his fingers tangling in your hair as he tips your head back. “Next time, all you have to do is ask.”
His mouth covers yours, his tongue pushing past your lips as he slides a second finger into you. You moan into his mouth as the pressure in your hips increases.
“Oh yes, let me hear all of those pretty noises,” he murmurs. “Are you going to let me fuck you against the counter after I make you come?”
You nod, whimpering.
“Good girl,” he purrs. “I think you need to be fucked properly and hard. Is that what you need?”
“Yes,” you gasp.
“Mmm, that’s what I thought. This cunt is just too wet and needy for any other treatment.” He draws back to look at you more fully, giving you a lazy, hungry smile. “You’re about to lose it all over my fingers, aren’t you?”
Your orgasm is cresting, the tingling pressure in your hips becoming unbearable. You nod, lost for words.
With one more smirk, he curls his fingers inside of you. “Come for me, pretty girl, let me see you.”
Your cunt spasms around his thrusting fingers and your whole body shudders as your orgasm overtakes you, your head tipping back as you cry out.
“Oh, that’s it,” he murmurs, “there’s my good girl.”
A shiver runs through you at his words, your hips still moving against his hand, trying to draw out every last ripple of pleasure.
He kisses you as you come down from your high, and you take the opportunity to run your hands over his chest and tentatively feel the hard planes of muscle that you’ve been staring at these last few weeks. But after a few moments, he takes your hand and guides it to his cock.
His preference for leather pants or those sinfully tight dark wash jeans made you suspect that the size of his ego might actually be proportionate to the size of his cock and your initial assessment seems to confirm that theory. You rub your fingers over the denim that covers his thick shaft, feeling yourself grow even wetter at the low groan he makes in the back of his throat.
“Take my cock out.” His voice is so deep and his eyes are so smoldering, it feels like the command goes straight to your cunt. You are practically trembling with anticipation as your shaking hands make quick work of the button, buckle, and zipper.
You can’t help but suck in a breath when his cock comes into view. He’s long and deliciously thick—big enough to be a little intimidating, but not overwhelmingly so.
He guides your hand to wrap around his shaft. He barely fits in your hand. “Look at what you’ve done to me,” he says, his voice raspy as he guides your hand to stroke his cock. “Feel how hard I am for you, feel how much I want you.”
His cock practically pulses with need, the tip slick with pre-come and you grasp him more firmly, your cunt pulsing as he gives a deeply satisfying groan.
You stroke him from base to tip, squeezing lightly. He groans again. “They told me to stay away from you, you know,” he says.
You aren’t so far gone that you can let this information slip by. “What? Who?”
“Stark. Rogers. Romanoff. My brother.” He reaches behind you and shoves the fruit and cutting board into the side, the knife clattering into the sink. “They saw how I looked at you,” he says. “They saw that I wanted you. They told me you were too good for me. Too sweet.”
You feel your jeans and underwear melt away in a shimmer of green and he lifts you easily onto the counter.
His eyes flash with desire. “I wonder what they’d say if they knew you’d let me fuck you raw in the middle of the kitchen?”
For a brief moment, frustration almost wins out over your lust. “We could have done this sooner?”
His gaze turns serious. “Darling, we could have done this the moment we met, but I’m told a handshake is more appropriate.”
You take a breath, about to embark on a rant about the individuals he’d named and how they hadn’t even asked, they’d just assumed, but Loki puts a hand up against your mouth.
“Don’t make me wait any longer,” he says. There’s a sincerity and a need in his gaze that you’ve never seen before and it’s enough to calm your anger for just a moment.
“Okay,” you say, wrapping your legs around his waist and angling your hips toward his, “but clear your schedule because I’m gonna need you to fuck me a lot to make up for all that time.”
His grin is feral as he pushes into you.
You shiver at the blunt stretch of his cock, your hands gripping his broad shoulders. He indulges in a low groan as his hips press flush against yours.
“If I’d known they were keeping me from this tight cunt, I would’ve done something sooner,” he rasps. “You feel absolutely perfect.”
“Please,” you breathe, “I need—please.”
His hips snap hard against yours and you moan, your head tipping back.
His eyes glitter as he pulls you close, pressing his mouth against your ear. “The next time I have you, I will be sweet and soft.”
“And this time?” you ask, though you think you already know the answer.
“This time—” His mouth presses against the curve of your neck, teeth scraping just this side of too hard against the tender skin. “—I’m going to utterly ruin you.”
His pace is fast and rough—the word possessive comes to mind. You twist the luxurious fabric of his sweater in your hands as his cock hits that sweet, aching spot inside of you, pressing against your sensitive cunt in a way that makes your muscles spasm and clench around him. You moan, a shiver rolling through you as you inch closer to release.
“I’m…fuck, I’m getting close,” you gasp.
His pace abruptly slows and his grin is wide and his eyes are dancing with mirth when he raises his head from your shoulder.
“That was unnecessary,” you say with a scowl.
“Oh, I just want to savor you for a little longer, my love,” he purrs as he settles into an easy and slow pace that still makes your toes curl. “You’re going to take me right over the edge with you and I’ve waited so terribly long to have you.”
“I feel like you’re probably omitting the fact that you like being a tease,” you say.
He grins again, increasing his pace ever so slightly. “Both things can be true.”
He does this a few times—taking up a wicked pace that almost sends you hurtling over the edge, only to slow at the last possible moment, silencing your whimpering protests with a deep and slow kiss that is good enough to make you forgive him until a few minutes later when he does it all over again.
You hold out for as long as you can, but eventually, the ache in your hips overwhelms you.
“Loki,” you breathe when his pace again begins to increase. “Please don’t stop.”
“Don’t stop?” he rasps, somehow finding the concentration to raise an eyebrow. “You’re quite sure?”
You nod.
“You want to come all over my cock?”
Speech is slightly beyond you at this point, but you manage to gasp a desperate plea as you hurtle into the final plateau, right before the fall.
Loki regards you with that same playful look as he fucks you. You wait, unsure of what he’s going to do, your body desperately crying out for your release.
His lips curl into a smile. “Come for me, sweet thing.”
At the sound of his voice, every one of your muscles is tensing and releasing, the slick walls of your cunt clamping down hard on the thick girth of his cock as you shudder and moan.
The remnants of Loki’s composure are fraying, his eyes closed and his jaw slack as he chases his own end. His brow furrows and he throws his head back, letting out a low groan as he comes and you think it might be the best sound you’ve ever heard.
You sag against him as you both come down from your respective highs, his heart beating hard under the soft fabric of his sweater. He reaches for your face, tilting your head back so he can kiss you, impossibly slow and soft.
You’re in the middle of the kitchen. You understand this. In a wholly rational world, you would be quick to hop off the counter, quick to try and negotiate the return of your jeans from whatever pocket dimension he’s sent them to.
Instead, you find yourself wanting to stay in this moment, with his arms wrapped around you, his cock still pulsing inside you as he kisses you breathless.
You count to ten, then twenty. At forty, you draw back slightly, only to have him pull you back into the kiss.
It’s somewhere after one hundred when he trails his lips to your neck and you manage to say what you intended: “We should probably…” you trail off as he sucks at your pulse point, sending a shiver down your spine.
“We should probably what?” he murmurs against your neck, before tracing a lazy figure eight with the tip of his tongue.
It takes you a moment to find that sentence. “Get dressed and such.”
You feel the sharp press of his smile against your skin. “I think not.”
Before you can open your mouth to say anything, the kitchen is fading in a shimmer of green to an unfamiliar bedroom and the two of you tumble into a bed draped in green silk.
“I’d like to stay like this for a while,” he says, a smile playing at his lips as he slowly rolls his hips against you, somehow still impossibly hard. “In fact, I think I need to have you again.”
“I can live with that,” you say. You tug at the fabric of his sweater. “But this is going to have to go.”
His gaze is smoldering and his bare skin is suddenly pressed against yours as the sweater and the rest of your clothes disappear in that familiar shimmer of green.
“Will you like me as much without it?” he asks, rolling his hips against you.
You drag your fingernails up along the firm muscles of his back. “I think I’ll manage.”
“Good,” he says, leaning in to kiss you, “because as I understand it, we have quite a lot of time to make up for.”

hi Mera!! 😋
number 12 some thoughts about yandere android Jade..
(cw: yandere, gender neutral reader, unhealthy behaviors/relationship, android!jade, obsession, subtle infantilization)
(monstrously yandere prompts)
The worst part of being ill is, perhaps, the vulnerability.
Lying propped in bed, your chest screaming from a previous coughing fit, you feel like a weak child who can’t do anything for themself. For all your hubris, you’re reduced to a shell of yourself in the devastating sweep of sickness. It’s times like this when you realize just how much you take your freedoms and mobility for granted. Now you’re nothing but a bedridden miserable lump of feverish flesh clinging to the warmth of soft sheets.
Thankfully, you have your android companion.
His presence is a relief because, when you’re feeble and suffering in your stifling room, you know you aren’t alone.
Jade was initially built and programmed for security, modeled (mostly in grief) after your late husband Floyd, but in the final stages of his completion you found all those sleepless, caffeine-addled nights were catching up to you; and you quickly spiraled into sickness after sickness. So you made the decision to program a care feature into your android. Not only would he serve his purpose as a bodyguard and support for your mental health, but he’d also have the knowledge to nurse one back to health if need be. It took plenty of trial and error, but eventually he could recognize the signs before you could.
So when you nearly fell over from exhaustion once, he was there to catch you. And when you woke in your bed, he was there with a bowl of soup. For a moment, it really did look like Floyd had come back to you.
But it’s been so long since then and your mourning has warped the memories of your husband. It’s why Jade doesn’t look like an exact replica of him. It’s why you can’t bear to look at any old photos.
It’s why you’re always so sick. The agonizing sorrow is eating your heart and poisoning your brain.
Jade cannot like or love things—these emotions are impossible to naturally and humanly replicate in any AI—but that doesn’t mean you haven’t noticed some of his developing preferences. He displays an innate curiosity for nature and, of all things, manhole covers. He seems to be preferable to cooking and learning new recipes, especially those that incorporate all species of edible fungi. He’s always smiling, albeit it’s unnatural and uncanny, but you can’t remember if you programmed him to do so or if he simply does it after gleaning new information from external stimuli (i.e. whatever’s on television).
You’re not entirely sure yet—and more research must be conducted to prove or disprove your hypothesis—but you think he takes a certain amount of enjoyment in looking after you when you’re sick. Perhaps that’s because it reminds him of his worth—that he’s a necessary fixture in your life.
The more you see these subtle hints, the more you begin to wonder if he truly is turning human. Or maybe he’s just an expert mimic.
Either way, you like to bask in his attention. It reminds you of the love you lost.
There’s a knock at the door. You crack an eye open just as Jade lets himself in. He’s come with a washcloth and a soft towel. It’s set on a nearby chair, which has been pulled up to your bedside.
“Forgive me for disturbing your rest, Master, but it’s time to take your temperature.”
“All right,” you rasp, leaning in to meet his palm. The scan is seamless and silent, so smooth it takes mere seconds to determine what ails your body.
“Hmm. It still hasn’t gone down.” He sees the cocoon of blankets and frowns. “Master, you shouldn’t sleep with so many. Your fever will never go down at this rate.”
With that, he dunks the cloth into the water to thoroughly soak it. You watch him wring it out. He’s so methodical that not a single drop splashes outside of the basin. Sighing, you flop back into the pillows and allow him to peel the covers off you. He works quietly, dabbing the cool cloth against your forehead. It’s only then when you realize just how hot you’d been, for the cooling sensation relieves you instantly.
“Are you hungry?” he asks, watching your face. “In an hour, you’re scheduled to take your medicine. But if you’d prefer to eat now—” He stops himself once he sees your gloomy expression. “I know, Master. It’s never enjoyable, but you must take your medicine. It will help you get better.”
“I hate those pills,” you grumble, turning your head to offer your bare neck. Jade hesitates, his fingertips ghost over your pulse, and then he slides the towel over the slope between neck and shoulder. “Mm, I could eat now. My throat feels a little better.”
“It does?” His lips quirk up. “I’m glad. What would you like?”
“I’m sick of soup. Maybe…pudding?”
“Pudding? Hm. Very well.”
“Really? You’re not going to insist I eat my fruits and veggies?”
“You’re sick, Master.” He smiles wider now. “It’s only fair you’re given adequate care in all areas, and if sugar will please your empty stomach I suppose I can oblige just this once. After all, if you’re to euthanize an animal, isn’t it human practice to give it one final treat before the end?”
You blink at him. That’s another side of Jade you weren’t anticipating when you created him. His proclivity for morbid musings. Your late husband had a wicked sense of humor from time to time, but it was always in jest. Sometimes you think Jade’s attempts at a joke are both tactless and eerie. It’s not his fault. He fails to grasp the concept of humor, so it makes sense he’d be unable to make a joke that would properly land.
“But I’m not a dog, Jade,” you say, as if to remind him you’re a human—his creator—and not some pet. “And I’m not going to die.”
“I see.” He submerges the washcloth once more. “Forgive me. I am not the best at communicating in metaphorical speech.”
“You don’t have to. Floyd never did. He was always so blunt. ‘Scathing honest,’ one of our friends used to say.”
The light in Jade’s eyes dims. But only for the moment. He finishes his cleaning of you and, to ensure you won’t boost your fever anymore, takes a few layers from your unruly bed nest. You’re already dozing by the time he’s folded them and placed them near the dirty laundry bin.
When he looks at you, he smiles. “Oh, Master,” he whispers, approaching your bedside to admire your snoozing form. “When will you understand? Even with your anguish, you wouldn’t have created me if you knew the lengths to which I obsess over you.”

The First Crush
RK800 Connor X F!Reader
He was an android! He wasn’t supposed to be stuttering like some nervous school boy seeing his crush for the first time. And yet, here he was making a fool of himself.
A/N: ahhh! this is my very first DBH fic! feedback is always highly appreciated!
Connor had been infatuated with you from the moment he’d stepped into the precinct that first morning. Sure, he hadn’t been a deviant yet at that time but there was something about you that drew him in. Whether it was the little knick knacks that you had sitting around your desk, or the photo of your two cats you proudly displayed. The first time he’d ever talked to you was what anyone would call a disaster. He’d nearly spilled the coffee he’d gotten for Hank all over your desk, nearly tripping over his feet as he stuttered over his words.
He was an android! He wasn’t supposed to be stuttering like some nervous school boy seeing his crush for the first time. And yet, here he was making a fool of himself. Hank had swooped in to save him from further embarrassment, making sure you were distracted while Connor cooled down.
You introduced yourself to him later on that day in the breakroom, ignoring Gavin’s snide remarks as you tried to make conversation with Connor. It was nice to be seen as something other than an android. Amanda had been surprised to learn about you, how Connor had made a friend so soon after arriving. Her tone left no room for argument on how Connor was supposed to approach his friendship with you, and why would he think any differently? Hank was his partner first and foremost, so he had to work on building that relationship.
CyberLife didn’t want him becoming distracted from his goals, lest they take him down into the sublevels and decommission him. That would put a real damper in him figuring out the whole deviancy cases that were beginning to line up. After the first case it became harder to figure out why they all seemed to deviate. From androids killing their owners, to androids being in love with one another.
Hank had questioned him as to why he hadn’t shot the deviant from the Eden Club, but Connor couldn’t give him a proper answer. He wasn’t even sure himself as to why he hadn’t shot her when he had a perfect shot. Instead he let her partner, lover?, kick the gun out of his hand before running off together. Amanda had been furious when Connor tried to deflect, lying to the older woman as if she couldn’t predict his very thoughts.
She did live inside his head after all.
Then there was Markus. Their first meeting hadn’t exactly gone the way Connor had hoped it would. He’d borrowed some clothes from Hank, promising that he wasn’t doing anything too dangerous and that he'd be back before the end of the night. (That dear reader had been a complete and total lie the moment the FBI had raided Jericho). Connor had been unable to forgive himself for a while after that, even once the androids were given their rights. Markus had assured him that things between them were fine, Connor had become a deviant and helped them all in the end.
Connor hadn’t properly forgiven himself for months after the incident, choosing to throw himself into his work and avoid everything else that surrounded him. Sure, he didn’t need sleep or food the way a normal human would so he could spend longer looking over case files, but something irked at him. You always seemed to check up on him, offering to drive him to Hank’s so he could get away from the precinct. It was nice.
He’d taken up your offer a handful of times, offering money to pay for gas since you lived on the complete opposite side as Hank. You always refused though, promising him that you didn’t mind driving Connor home. Hank wasn’t too put out by the idea either, glad to know Connor was making other friends besides himself. He’d always be his partner, but sometimes Hank liked to just sit and be by himself for a few hours at a time.
It took Connor longer than he’d realized to come to the conclusion that he had a crush on you, that his feelings ran deeper than just a simple friendship. It was downright terrifying for the android to try and wrap his head around. You were his friend, and now he was thinking about things like taking you out onto a date!
“Hank! I need some advice.” Connor stormed into the quaint house, tossing aside his coat as it landed on the kitchen chair.
Hank’s hand hovered mid-air, fork full of rice from his favorite Chinese place downtown steaming as he stared over at Connor. When he didn’t make another move to try and start talking again Hank quickly shoved the bite into his mouth, chewing slowly. Once he’d swallowed the rice without any hazards, Hank set down the container and his fork, turning to face Connor.
“Alright, what type of advice do you need?” Hank was doing his best to hide his surprise, the fact that Connor, essentially a walking computer, needed advice? This was something big.
“I want to impress someone, someone that I really like.” Connor reached up to loosen the tie around his neck, fingers hooking in the soft silk material and pulling back and forth as it slowly slid down.
“Well, what do you know about this person?” Hank almost felt like a proud father, watching someone he’d grown close to have their first real crush.
Connor’s eyes lit up as he began to talk about you, leaving out your name more for his own sake rather than yours. He talked about how you loved cats, it didn't matter what they looked like, you just loved cats. Or how your favorite movie was some campy movie based off of a videogame that came out in the 90’s. How no matter what, you always brought in some kind of dessert for someone on their birthday.
“Okay, that’s some good information to start with.” Hank pondered over the information Connor had given him, thinking back to what he would’ve done.
Connor laid his tie overtop of his jacket across the chair, unbuttoning the buttons on his sleeves to roll them up onto his arms. The dishes needed to be done, and right now he needed to get some good advice from Hank lest he lose his mind thinking about you.
“You could always start small, get her some flowers for her home, or something that she might appreciate.” Hank hadn’t dated, or been with anyone in quite a long time, so he was a little rusty.
Connor was elbow deep in soapy water, locking away the little information Hank had given him so he could figure out exactly what to do. Surely this would be too hard, right?
✧˖ °. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁‧₊˚ ☾. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁˖°✧
Connor couldn’t help but feel nervous as he walked inside the precinct, the small bundle of flowers held loosely in his right hand. His eyes scanned over each desk before finally landing on yours as he made his way over.
“Y/N?” Connor leaned over to try and get your attention, hoping he didn’t startle you as he’d done multiple times before.
“Oh! Hi Connor, who’re those for?” You gestured to the flowers in his hands, taking in the different colored roses.
His brow pinched for a moment before a realization seemed to hit him as his back straightened suddenly.
“They’re for you, I wanted to find something that wouldn’t be bad for your cats.” He held the flowers out closer to you, a nervous smile on his face.
Your eyes brightened as you smiled widely, carefully taking the flowers from his hands as you brought them up to your nose.
“I hope I made a good decision, the florist said these wouldn’t be overpowering, and also safe for your cats.” Connor subtly scolded himself for repeating something he’d already said.
“Connor, these are gorg-ACHOO!” You carefully set down the flowers as you hastily grabbed a tissue to try and plug your nose.
Connor felt himself begin to panic, had he done something wrong? Did he get the wrong type of flowers?
“I’m sore-achoo! I promise the flowers are lovely, I just, achoo! I’m kind of allergic to pollen.” Your nose began to stuff up from the fragrant roses, your eyes watering slightly as you reached into your drawer for your allergy medicine.
That was the very thing that Connor had forgotten to take into consideration, he’d known all about allergies. Hank had a deadly allergy to bees, meaning he couldn’t have anything with honey or beeswax. He’d nearly made the mistake of gifting him something that had honey in it, but was reminded just before he’d purchased it. Nothing worse than accidentally killing your lieutenant.
Well, maybe making a fool of yourself in front of someone you’d become infatuated with was pretty high up on that list right now.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N, I forget that pollen is one of the most common allergies. Would you like me to take the flowers?” Connor wouldn’t be affected by them, at least not in the way you were at the moment.
“No! Really, Connor, it's fine. I just need to take some medicine and I’ll be right as rain.” You smiled up at him, he could sense the faint swelling of your nose from the pollen.
“If you’re sure.” He was unsure of what to even say, second guessing himself at that moment.
You reassured him once more, taking two of the tablets with a long sip of the water you always brought in to work.
He’d just have to do better next time.
✧˖ °. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁‧₊˚ ☾. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁˖°✧
Connor had been lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling of Hank’s living room as Sumo laid down on the floor beside him. The couch was newer, more for Hank’s sake rather than his own, Connor didn’t need comforts in life the way a human would. Sumo had been ecstatic to see the new couch, claiming the long chaise lounge for himself once it was set down. Hank had fallen asleep on it many times, the television playing quietly in the background before Connor got home. It felt…normal.
“What’s got you so pensive?” Hank was making dinner for himself, Sumo having already been fed for the night.
“I screwed up by getting her the flowers, how could I make it up to her so that she doesn’t have an allergic reaction?” Connor had done some research to find any other important allergies, the main one was pollen which he’d already known.
“Well, do you know things that she likes? And I mean actually likes, not some wild guess from analyzing her.” Hank plated the steak, turning to face Connor before taking a seat at his kitchen table.
“She really likes cats, has an infatuation with black cats.” His mind raced with a million and one thoughts as he tried to decipher what exactly he could get you.
Hank hummed lowly, cutting into the meat before popping a piece into his mouth and chewing slowly. His brow pinched as he thought back to what he’d get his ex wife as a way to impress her when they were first dating.
“Why don’t you take her to lunch? Nothing super fancy so she doesn’t feel pressured. Don’t they have restaurants that androids can eat at now?” Hank knew there were plenty of places both you and Connor could eat at, he just didn’t want to seem soft.
Connor thought about it for a moment, cataloging all the restaurants in the area that served food that the both of you could eat. The closest, and most casual one, was just a few miles away from the precinct. Maybe he could take you there on Monday as both an apology for the roses, and a way to get to know you better.
Surely this wouldn’t go wrong.
✧˖ °. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁‧₊˚ ☾. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁˖°✧
His nerves were shot, there was no other way to possibly even begin to explain why he was freaking out over something so normal.
You’d agreed to go to lunch with him, even offering to cover your meal even though Connor downright refused and told you he would cover it. He didn’t need to really eat often, so when he did he liked to enjoy the atmosphere of wherever he’d decided to eat. Of course he would usually sit in one of the corner booths by himself where he could go over casefiles while eating.
Today was a completely different experience entirely. Besides enjoying a delicious meal with you, Connor had also seen you truly open up. You weren’t afraid to laugh at his dry humor, something he’d learned from Hank more so than anywhere else. The conversation never seemed too dull, the two of you talking the entire time until you had to get back to work.
The moment you stepped outside, ready to make the short-ish walk back to the precinct, it began to downpour. Connor cursed under his breath, quickly pulling off his coat to try and use it as an umbrella for you. You gripped onto the soft material, holding it tight as you both began to try and sprint to the precinct.
Thunder clapped loudly in the sky, the sound vibrating through both of your chests as you finally made it back. As you handed Connor back his jacket he couldn’t help but frown. His jacket hadn’t done any good to keep you dry, your clothes were absolutely drenched. He’d known he wouldn’t fare well during the run, but he hoped to at least keep you a little bit dry.
“Shit, let me see if they’ve got some dry clothes for you to wear.” Before you could even utter a word Connor had run inside, heading into the back to find the old stock supply of hoodies and sweatpants.
Debating for a moment he grabbed clothes for the both of you, bringing them back out to where you’d been standing at your desk. You must’ve come inside after he left you outside of the precinct. Jeez, he was failing miserably at this whole thing, trying to impress you by doing things that seemed cute together.
“Here, I’m sure there’s towels in the shower that we can use to dry off with.” Connor handed over the clothes, a guilty expression pulling at his face.
You smiled softly at him, thanking him for the clothes before making your way down to the locker rooms. Connor did the same with his own clothes, stripping down completely, except his boxers, and drying off as best he could before pulling on the new clothes. They were big enough that no part of his body was hanging out, but they definitely screamed, ‘I fucked up and have to wear this as punishment’. Connor wouldn’t blame you if you decided to never speak to him again, he couldn’t handle another bad thing happening due to his negligence.
“Well, well, what happened to you two lovebirds?” Gavin’s smirk was anything but friendly, his lip pulled up into a harsh sneer.
“Just ended up getting caught in the rain, didn’t want Y/N to get sick so I found some dry clothes for her to change into.” Connor knew better than to engage in any kind of conversation with Gavin.
The man was barely tolerable, he was sure that if he hadn’t been an android Gavin would’ve found an entirely different reason to hate him. He’d seen the way Gavin had tried, and failed, to convince you to go on a date with him so many times before. Connor had been afraid you wouldn’t even accept him since he was an android, but you were the first friend, besides Hank, that he had. You always stood up for him, even if sometimes he’d gotten himself into the mess he was in. Nine times out of ten they were caused by Gavin being an absolute dick, today was going to be no different.
“Oh? So you’ll go out with this piece of junk, but not a real man? What, you’ve got a fetish for that android di-.” Gavin was cut off as Connor turned suddenly, his knuckles colliding with the skin of his jaw.
Gavin hit the ground hard, a loud yelp echoing inside the room as Connor’s hands clenched into tight fists. Chris and one of the other officers ran over to check on Gavin, probably to make sure Connor hadn’t broken anything on him. He hadn’t, Gavin would just have a nice bruise to set a reminder as to why he should finally leave you and Connor alone.
“Connor!” Hank’s voice boomed louder than the rest of the chatter, his body locking up as he slowly looked over to where Hank was standing.
You were standing behind the lieutenant, eyes wide as you glanced between where Gavin was sitting on the floor over to where Connor stood. A slow smile pulled up your lips, eyes twinkling as you quickly made your way over to your desk.
“Sorry, should I fill out a harassment form?” Connor didn’t feel the least bit sorry for hitting Gavin, but he also didn’t want to lose his job.
“Just, don’t do it again, okay?” Hank stared back at him until he nodded, nodding once before sitting down at his own desk.
Connor quickly followed suit, ignoring Gavin who was downright seething at being not only punched by an android, but someone who wouldn’t get into any trouble. Anyone with two brain cells could see how annoying Gavin was, so who better to hit him than Connor? It was a win-win situation if he did think so himself.
“Thank you, Connor.” Connor’s head snapped over to where you sat, brow furrowed as his lips parted.
You looked as if you hadn’t just spoken to him, your hands typing away at your keyboard as your eyes followed each word to make sure you didn’t make any mistakes.
“You’re welcome, Y/N.” Connor kept his voice low, he knew you’d hear him, but he didn’t want to make Hank feel uncomfortable.
Even though their afternoon had been ruined from the rain, it helped knowing that Connor could make Hank and Y/N smile at the expense of finally getting to hit Gavin.
✧˖ °. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁‧₊˚ ☾. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁˖°✧
Connor had been restoring a classic Harley Davidson for nearly six months, slowly buying parts and working on it whenever he wasn’t needed at the precinct. Hank hadn’t minded Connor working on it in his garage, almost preferring it being hidden away from other people. Connor had joked that he’d let Hank drive it as long as he got his motorcycle license first. Hank on the other hand said he liked how they looked, but he also liked having all his limbs. It was no shock that most people didn’t respect people, or androids in this case, on motorcycles. He had spent weeks learning to drive perfectly, even though he was an android there were always insane drivers.
He’d bought a jacket and helmet during his last shopping excursion so he could at least be prepared when the bike was finally finished. The weather had finally warmed up, which meant he could drive around without the sun setting at four pm.
Taking a deep breath he grabbed the accelerator, reaching up to see if he’d been successful at reviving the old bike. The engine roared to life as he twisted his wrist forward gently, the sound of the engine revving like an angry lion.
“I did it!” Connor quickly turned the bike off, not wanting to waste what little gas he had in there at the moment. He’d drive down to the gas station and fill it up so he could drive it to the station and surprise everyone.
Well, he really only wanted to surprise you.
✧˖ °. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁‧₊˚ ☾. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁˖°✧
Connor had chosen his clothes carefully, sliding on the boots that were recommended, before grabbing his leather jacket and slipping it on over his shoulders. Hank had mentioned how he could walk a runway with his clothes, almost shocked at how effortless it was for Connor to look handsome. He’d never really understood the appeal, he wore clothes that he found pleasing, or what would keep him safe from the outside environment.
Grabbing the helmet he made his way outside, having already parked the bike in the driveway so that the garage wouldn’t be sitting open the entire day. Putting on his helmet he straddled the bike carefully, turning it on as it roared to life once more. The gas tank was full, something he’d insisted on doing the night before. Carefully kicking up the kickstand he walked the bike to the end of the driveway, checking for any pedestrians or other drivers before he began to drive.
The wind felt nice as it whipped by, the rumbling of the bike vibrating from his toes to the tops of his shoulders. Other drivers stared as he drove by, their shock evident at the loud motorcycle as he sat idly waiting for the light to turn green. The drive wasn’t one he hated doing, quite the opposite as it gave him time to think about what needed to be done. Unfortunately it seemed he tended to drive much faster while on a motorcycle. He pulled into the parking lot almost fifteen minutes before he was due to arrive, parking between your and Hank’s car.
Once the bike was off, the engine slowly cooling itself down as he pushed down the kickstand to step off the bike, Connor noticed a few people staring. That would always happen no matter where he was, but this felt different. They didn’t look jealous, no, they looked almost shocked to see Connor stepping off the bike. Okay, maybe he did have a reputation for being a goodie two shoes but that was before the deviancy.
He grabbed the bottom of his helmet, slipping it off to try and fix his hair if needed. Since he didn’t sweat his hair hadn’t flattened to his head, running a hand through fixed it right away. The two officers outside kept their eyes on him as he made his way inside.
“Connor! Just the man I was looking fo-.” Your voice cut off as you stared over at him, eyes wide and lips parted.
That was a reaction he’d never gotten from you before, why did you look like someone shell shocked? Was there something wrong?
“Y/N? Are you alright?” Connor stepped over, his helmet held loosely in his right hand.
Your eyes trailed over his body slowly, much slower than he’d ever seen you to do anyone else before, even people you found attractive. Your body temperature rose by a degree, skin flushed with goosebumps.
Oh.
Oh.
“I-I’m sorry, yes Connor, I’m just fine.” You smiled up at him, hands shakily clutching the tablet in your hands.
“Are you sure? We can go sit down at my desk if you need to.” Connor gently took your elbow, leading you down towards the desks and ushering you into his usual seat.
“Connor, I promise that I’m fine. I’ve been going over the paperwork from this most recent case if you’d like to look at the information.” You held the tablet out to him, your voice breathy as your eyes trailed down his throat and chest.
He opened his mouth to respond, to tell you that the case could wait a few more minutes before he noticed the uptick in your heart rate. He’d never had this kind of effect on someone before, it felt invigorating.
“Alright, I believe you.” He smirked down at you, plopping down into your chair before scooting closer.
You jumped right into the case, avoiding looking at him for any period of time to try and get your thoughts under control. Jeez, it was like you were a schoolgirl with a crush on the hotter older kid. Except you worked together, and Connor was clearly trying to impress you with the flowers, and then lunch, and then… Oh!
“Is something bothering you, Y/N?” Connor’s voice was low, the softness of his eyes keeping you from being able to speak properly.
“Actually, there is.” Your tone was clear, a complete 180 to how you’d just been so flustered.
Connor was clearly taken aback, unsure of how to even approach the new situation he’d just landed himself in.
“You come in here being all sweet, buying me roses, taking me to lunch, and now? Now you’re walking in looking like a walking, talking wet dream and I’m simply supposed to keep my cool while you sit right next to me for the next ten hours?” You held a hand up as Connor opened his mouth to respond.
“You are the embodiment of everything I want, Connor. So excuse me for being quite distracted at how gorgeous you look today.” You huffed, arms crossing over your chest as your little moment began to sink in.
Connor was shocked that you’d like him, he knew he liked you, anyone with eyes could see it, but knowing you liked him as more than a friend? Well, it was a little surprising for him. Maybe driving the Harley in was the best idea he’d had in years.
“Well, if that’s the case. Can I take you on a date? A proper one that doesn’t involve us getting soaked with rain?” Connor felt hopeful, what’s the worst that could happen? You both already liked one another.
“Find a place where we can both have dinner, and it’s a date.” You smiled at him, standing up from his desk and leaving the tablet on the smooth surface.
Connor knew he’d need to spend a few minutes of his lunch finding a nicer restaurant, and couldn't have a repeat of the last time you two had gone out together. Even if it was a nice time, getting drenched from the rain was never fun.
As everyone worked it was almost as if a lightbulb popped up above his head.
He’d taken Hank's advice twice and had it almost end in full disaster both times, and the one time he just did things naturally it all worked out. Maybe he should just listen to his own mind every now and then.
Yeah, that sounded like a much better plan.

Michael closed the door behind him in his dorm, after a long day of classes he just wanted to enjoy some alone time. Not that he had many friends to tire him but the amount of people he had to deal with everyday made his social battery drained nonetheless.
He set down his bag on his desk, opened it and pulled out his phone. Wondering if he should try sending Oliver a message again about hanging out tonight, he thought against it. It was a week ago that Oliver dumped him for Felix Catton and his heart hurt at the memory.
So instead he would settle for a night in, he threw his android phone on his small single bed and unlaced his shoes. He switched his khaki pants and short sleeved blouse for some comfortable grey joggers and his favourite t-shirt.
Michael got settled on his bed, it was far too early to get settled under the covers so he grabbed his phone and mindlessly scrolled through his emails. Until he got a notification. His heart skipped a beat when he saw it was from Instagram, you had posted a new picture.
He clicked on the notification and Instagram opened, instantly switching to your profile. His breathing became heavy once your bikini clad body filled his screen. Fuck you looked amazing, the bikini barely covering your tits and cunt.
He obviously knew of your little trip to Italy, the beach and bright sky behind you in the photo but he cared little for that. His cock started to swell in his joggers, the outline of it becoming very clear through the fabric.
Michael felt like a fucking pervert when his free hand moved to massage himself through his pants but he couldn’t help it, he got so turned on by your revealing bikini. He gave up on restraining himself and lowered his sweatpants.
Pulling down his boxers as well so he could free his aching dick. He zoomed in on your barely covered tits with one hand, his other now starting to tenderly tug on his uncut member. Soft whines already left his lips, hand moving faster as he pleasured himself to your picture.
But tonight it wasn’t enough, your photo left him horny and pulsing with desire but his hand didn’t do it for him tonight. Then he remembered his purchase from a week ago, Michael got so pent up one night, his hand couldn’t make him cum so he went on the internet and bought a fleshlight.
It arrived two days ago but he hadn’t dared touch it, shoving it in the bottom drawer of his nightstand and ignoring it. The embarrassment from such a purchase was too much for him but he was too scared to send it back as well. But now, he needed release.
He put down his phone next to him and released his cock. Bending over the side of his bed to open that cursed bottom drawer. The box of it looked daunting but he grabbed it anyway, his face flushed red with shame of what he was about to do.
With a sigh and trembling hands, he opened the box. He didn’t expect the fleshlight to be wrapped in protective plastic but he undid it all the same. Next to it was a bottle of lube, he fetched that out of the box as well before throwing the box next to the bed.
He moved his glasses up his nose and inspected the erotic toy, he forgot about the fact that the toy had a turn on button. When he pressed it, the inside of it started to automatically clench and move up and down. His heart sped up and he was glad the toy wasn’t loud.
Even though he had a single dorm he didn’t want his neighbours to hear any of the depravity that was about to happen. Glancing over at the screen of his phone again, his cock ached and he opened the bottle of lube.
Unsure if he had to lube up his own member or the toy he opted for his cock and squirted a good amount on his hands. He wouldn’t be Michael if he didn’t check the instructions of the lube and read that it was best to warm it up in his hands first.
When he warmed up the lube enough he massaged his length with it, making sure there was enough before wiping the remains of the lube on his hands off on his bed sheet, he would wash it later.
With his phone and the picture of you in his left hand and the fleshlight in his right, he moved the opening of it to his already weeping head. He groaned as the toys' tight walls enveloped his head, already he was feeling sensitive and wasn’t sure if he would last long.
He stared at the picture of you and pressed the button on the toy, immediately a way too loud moan left his lips with the way the toy perfectly squeezed and jerked his cock. Breath stuck in his throat and arse cheeks clenched, the toy fucked his pulsing dick way too good.
Never had he felt such a sensation in his life, having never even kissed a girl, let alone fuck a girl, he was gripping the fleshlight for dear life. Whimpers and groans filled the room as well as the squelching of the toy around his shaft.
“F-fuck! Fuck baby! F-feels so f-fucking goodddd-” Michael gasped. If this was the lowest setting, how fast could this thing go? The way the fleshlight now pulsated, clenched and fucked the skin over his head had Michael drooling.
He looked at your picture and couldn’t help but imagine you were riding him right now. He imagined what your own moans and pleas would sound like as you fucked him. Please Michael your cock feels so good- Please daddy!
In his lust clouded haze he pressed the power button again, making it go faster but never did he imagine the toy would start vibrating as well. He cried out as the fleshlight jerked him faster, the vibrations feeling delicious on his tip.
He could feel the precum oozing from his head, his thighs were shaking as he moaned and gasped. Michael was sure he saw god with the way this toy was pulling the life from him. “Please baby! Fuck! Ride me just like that!” Michael cried out, he was so fucking close.
Pressing the power button again, desperate for release, the toy now started twisting as well. The vibrations got more powerful and it went up and down faster too. Michael couldn’t take it anymore, actual tears rolled down his cheeks and he started fucking up into the fleshlight.
Drool drizzled out of his mouth and he cried out for more. When the toy clenched around him again, he screamed. His cock shot ropes and ropes of cum, shooting it far into the toy which was still vibrating, pulsating and fucking him all the same.
His screams turned into sobs as he let the fleshlight fuck him longer, the sensitivity was almost too much to bear but he couldn’t stop. His cock didn’t even soften and for a moment he wondered what would happen if he pressed the button again.
And so with wet cheeks, a drooled under chin, crooked glasses and pupils blown out with lust, he pressed it again. The toy pulled a scream from him once more as it vibrated extremely strong, the clenching of it now in a perfect rhythm and the twisting in a side to side movement.
He only lasted ten more seconds before he filled the toy's tight hole again. Crying as his now empty balls felt so extremely sensitive. His tip almost hurt when he pulled the toy off him and quickly turned it off by holding the power button longer.
Not only was his entire face red and sweaty, his chest was too. His legs were still shaking and his cock was red and overly raw from all the insane pleasure. He was still gasping for air when he noticed an obscene amount of his seed dripping from the toy onto his sheets.
When he glanced at his phone again, he quickly turned it off with embarrassment. He laid the toy down next to him and tried to gather his senses. His dorm reeked of sex and depravity and it took him a while to come back down to earth.

A Different Kind Of Light
Listen with me! ↠ⁿᵉˣᵗ ˢᵒⁿᵍ ↺ ʳᵉᵖᵉᵃᵗ ⊜ ᵖᵃᵘˢᵉ
Warnings: Cyberpunk AU, disabled reader, gaslighting, manipulation, somnophilia (???).
Monstertober/Yantober Prompts: Artificial Intelligence/Secret Collection
Pairing: Fem AI Android x Fem Reader

You had memory issues. Sometimes you would forget small things like where you put your phone or if you had lunch or not. Other times it was big things like your latest doctor's appointment or the fact that you had lunch planned with your mother. Thankfully you had insurance and they were able to get you a medical droid. They said something about it being a new model they were testing that looked more human than the other droids but was still fully artificial intelligence.
When she finally got shipped, you carefully read the manual before activating and programing her. To you, she was simply there to help you with your memory issues. Little did you know that that was certainly not how she viewed you.
To her you were like the sun itself. A kind-hearted goddess who had graced her with a place at your side. She found herself taking things from you. Articles of clothing you didn't wear often, sticky notes that had your handwriting on them, photos of yourself that you didn't like that much, even an old red solo cup you had used at a party one time that you stumbled home with one time.
She had a little box with these things, and if you ever asked about them, it was easy to gaslight you. Questioning where that pair of panties was? Oh you threw them out! You don't remember? It's ok, your trusty medical droid does.
You always fell for her manipulation tactics. After all, she'd never lead you astray, right? It would go against her programming, her very coding. But even good things must come to an end.
One day you were cleaning the house while she was charging when you came across a little yellow shoe box. Curiously, you opened it and what you found sent a chill down your spine. A few pairs of your panties and a croptop you didn't wear anymore, old sticky notes with your handwriting on them, and photos. So many photos. Many photos were ones you had taken but didn't exactly like. Some of them were group photos with your friends aggressively scratched out.
"You weren't supposed to see that." A voice came and you bolt up and spin around, coming face to face with the droid. "What the fuck is this?" You ask softly, voice trembling and she gives you a smile. "Why it's my little collection of things that I took from you." She says with a shrug and your brows furrow. "Why?" You ask simply and she gives a giggle. "Because I'm in love with you." She replies with a lovesick look in her cyber eyes and you blink in shock.
"That's... that's not possible." You say, tone shaky as you grab your phone. "I'm calling the agency, there's obviously something wrong with your coding." You say and her face drops. "NO!" She shouts and before you can register what's going on, she's landed a hit to your head so hard that it instantly knocks you out.
You crumble to the floor and she picks you up, placing you on your bed. "No, no, no. I don't want to forget this feeling. I love you. Why can't you just let me love you? You're mine. Mine." She breathes out possessively, hands trailing over your body in a clingy fashion. She presses her lips to your mouth gently before trailing them down your jaw and neck.
"MIne, mine, mine. My sweet girl. My sunshine. My darling. I love you. Love you so much. I don't know how I can feel this but I do." She breathes out, kissing the swell of your breasts, fingers digging into the plush of your thighs. "Just need a little more time. Just need you to fall in love with me back." She purred out as she covered your body with a blanket.
When you finally wake up, you groan and look around. "Morning." You hear your droid say and you look up at her. She wears a kind smile as she approaches you with a glass of water. "You were cleaning and slipped. You banged your head pretty badly." She says softly and your suddenly aware of the pounding in your head.
You take the water and drink a bit before she hands you some piankillers. You pop them in your mouth before swallowing them down with some water. "Thank you so much." You say softly. Your mind wanders to a faint memory but it must have been a dream... Right?
"I hear some humans use kisses to help heal things that hurt. May I try?" she asks ask you look up at the AI girl, cheeks heating up. "Uh, yeah sure." You say softly and she leans in, pressing cold lips to your forehead. You can't help but smile softly as she runs her fingers through your hair.
"Rest. I'll clean the rest of the house." She says softly, gently pushing you down. "You don't have to do that. That's not what you're programmed for." You say softly but she simply waves her hand, tucking you in. "Let me help. Please. It's not a problem for me." She says and for a moment you swear you can see a look of love flicker across her face.
You sigh and settle in your bed, ready to rest. "Alright. If you're sure." You say, relenting as you snuggle in your blankets. She smiles and kisses your temple. As she walked out of your room and began to clean, she couldn't help but smile darkly. She had gotten away with it. Maybe she should feel guilty but she didn't. You were hers.
Her ray of sunshine.

Sapphic yandere anybody? I feel like this one is the most yandere so far. I didn't make it a smut bc honestly the lemon juices just weren't flowing but I still really like this fic.

HEAD OF FALSE SECURITY MASTERLIST
Connor’s eyelashes catch snow as he opens his eyes. The Zen Garden is frozen over, and there’s a chill in the air he can feel down to where his bones would be.
Across the iced-over lake is the silvery tree. It’s grown – now it’s four, maybe four and a half feet tall. It’s still bare and leafless, but wisps of what looks like a mycelium complex are branching off the trunk. Connor forces himself to turn away.
The glowing stone sits a few feet away. Connor steps closer, and it pulls him in like a vortex. His hand finds the stone, and it sends a buzz through his system, causing his hand to pull away and curl up into a fist. He stands and walks away.
The layer of ice over the water groans under Connor’s weight, but doesn’t crack or break. He continues and comes to a stop in front of Amanda. She’s cloaked in whites and dark blues to match the environment surrounding them.
“After what happened today, the country is on the verge of a civil war,” Amanda says. “The machines are rising up against their masters. Humans have no choice but to destroy them.”
“I thought Kamski knew something.” Connor’s eyebrows crease. “I was wrong.”
“Maybe he did.” Amanda’s eyebrows rise, almost mocking. “But you chose not to ask.”
There’s a pulse in Connor’s code, something like a heartbeat. Lips that form a smile shaped like yours. The feeling of an invisible body presses against his back, and the feeling of their hand snakes up his chest from behind, resting over his Thirium pump.
“What does she know?” Someone’s breath is hot against the shell of his ear. The voice sounds like yours, but is… weird, and twisted. “She wasn’t even there… but you were.”
Something clicks inside Connor. This is the first time the instability has taken on a form. And he’s inclined to believe it – mostly because it sounds like you. (He doesn’t even know why. He can unpack that later, surely…) And he’s not giving into the instability if it’s right.
“You know what you saw,” the instability croons. “You know the truth. Tell her.”
“I chose not to play his twisted little game!” Connor barks. “There was no reason to kill that android.”
The instability clutches him tighter and lets out a shaky breath that ends in a whine, like it approves.
“I saw a photo of Amanda at Kamski’s place,” Connor continues. “She was his teacher.”
“When Kamski designed me, he wanted an interface that would look familiar,” Amanda says, her voice cold and stern. “That’s why he chose his former mentor. What are you getting at?”
“I’m not a unique model, am I?” Connor takes a tiny step forward. The instability clings to him as he moves. “How many Connors are there?”
“I don’t see how that question pertains to your investigation,” Amanda says.
“You didn’t tell me everything you know about deviants, did you?” Connor asks, that venom still in his voice.
“I expect you to find answers, Connor.” Amanda’s lips set in a hard line. “Not ask questions.”
She takes a few steps forward and looks up at Connor. “You’re the only one who can prevent civil war. Find the deviants, or there will be chaos.”
Her eyes narrow. “This is your last chance, Connor.”
When you open your eyes, you’re surrounded by lumino-polymer. You inhale a lungful, causing that warm and fuzzy feeling in your chest to return.
You slowly crawl out of the pool like a child who doesn’t want to get out of a warm bath. The lumino-polymer slides off you as you get out in one big, sludge-y lump.
You know what to do by now. The Vavilov Complex, the metal pail, the stairs, the angel that is the PEC-4 Birchtree looking down on you from within her cylindrical plexiglass capsule. You kneel and look up at her as the lumino-polymer settles in her soil.
“Тех карт, что у меня на руках, недостаточно,” you say. “Все они были мной переиграны. Мне кажется, что это все, что я говорю вам в эти дни, но… я не знаю, что делать.”
Nonsense, child, she says, her voice once again talking to you from inside your mind. Life isn’t a static image. Draw more cards. Play a different game if you need to – while they’re playing poker, you’re playing caravan. They can’t comprehend the reasons and motives behind your moves if you’re playing a game they don’t even know exists.
You look down at your knees and your stomach twists when you realize what she’s talking about. “Но Коннор знает! Он знает о…” You can’t even bring yourself to finish the sentence.
I know, I know, she soothes. He doesn’t know everything, though. He doesn’t know where it is, or that you know how to use it.
“Он может…!” You growl in the back of your throat and clench your hands into fists. You force yourself to soften your words and to speak with respect. “Он детектив. Скорее всего, он во всем разберется. Коннор - эксперт, когда дело доходит до... до подобных вещей.”
You look up at her. “У него есть банки памяти, и он воспроизводит каждое воспоминание с безупречной точностью. Он помнит мои рассказы ему о Пионере, о Челомее, о…” You swallow thickly. “о моей матери и моем отце.”
He doesn’t know the specifics, does he? She reminds you. He only knows their names, and that’s not a lot to go off of. There are plenty of Olgas and plenty of Yegors in Chelomey, let alone the entirety of Russia, let alone the entirety of the Soviet Union.
“Я просто…” You sigh. “Я просто волнуюсь. Как всегда.” You smile, tight-lipped and awkward. “И вы правы. Как всегда.”
You stand and place a hand on the plexiglass of her capsule. “Спасибо.”
Her branches sway, just slightly. Please, be careful. They need you. Both of them. You can keep them on this Earth. Be vigilant. I love you.
“Да, мэм,” you say softly. “Я тоже вас люблю. Спокойной ночи.”
A notification on your phone is what pulls you fully out of the Vavilov Complex. You look down at your phone in your hand and read the headline of the news bulletin that just popped up.
THE AFTERSHOCKS OF A TERRORIST ATTACK: ANDROID WORKERS TO BE PULLED FROM HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, ELECTRICITY GRIDS, WATER MANAGEMENT CENTERS, & NETWORK GRIDS
You sigh and place your phone face-down on your desk. The last thing you need is to doomscroll at work, and you know most of the story already.
You lean back in your wheely chair and look at the monitor in front of you. The rest of them are shut off, leaving only your halfway-filled-out report staring back at you. The report of the Ortiz android is really like any other – boring and long-winded. You have to use flowery words instead of writing “Shit’s fucked. Have a good night.”
You’re blessed with a reprieve when there’s a knock on your door. You quickly get up to answer it to find someone who’s never stepped foot near the android autopsy room: Hank.
“Fowler needs us in his office.” He jabs a thumb over his shoulder. “Said it was something serious.”
You follow him and shut the door behind you. “Something serious?”
“Kept it vague,” Hank grumbles.
“He always does,” you hiss under your breath.
As you walk, Connor spots you and Hank from across the room and falls in step with you. Again, he switches his pace to match yours.
Hank opens the glass door to Fowler’s office, then follows you and Connor in once you enter. All three of you stand before Fowler, like children called into the Headmaster’s office. (You sure as hell feel like you got into trouble, somehow.)
Fowler’s sitting on his desk – something you know he does when he wants to convince someone of something, or to be more informal. This situation feels all but informal.
He takes a deep breath, then says, “Both of you are off the case. The FBI is taking over.”
“What?” “Чего?” Both you and Hank manage to say at the same time.
Hank looks over at you, then looks back at Fowler and continues. “But we’re onto something! We… we just need more time. I’m sure we can –”
“Hank!” Fowler cuts in. “You don’t get it. This isn’t just another investigation, this is a fucking civil war! It’s out of our hands now. We’re talking about national security here –”
“Fuck that!” Hank snaps. “You can’t just pull the plug now. Not when we’re so close!”
“You’re always saying you can’t stand androids!” Fowler gestures at Connor, then looks at you. “And you were talking about how you were unfit for this case. I thought both of you would be happy about this! Jesus, make up your mind!”
“We’re about to crack the case. I know we can solve it!” Hank leans in, bracing his hands on the back of one of the chairs. “For god’s sake, Jeffery, can’t you back me up this one time?”
“Sir, if I may,” you cut in. You swallow your nervousness and speak, almost like you’ve practiced. “I – I was only tentative because I hadn’t handled a case of this importance before. I’m confident in myself now, and I’m confident in my team!”
Fowler sighs and shrugs. “There’s nothing I can do. You’re back in Cybersecurity, Hank’s back in Homicide, and the android returns to CyberLife.”
You bite back a “The android has a name!” and glance over at Connor. He almost looks… sad. Like he’s disappointed in himself.
“I’m sorry,” Fowler says. “But it’s over.”
Hank scoffs and storms out. You exhale sharply and follow after him, holding open the door for Connor. But when you look back, he’s standing right where he was.
Connor’s looking at Fowler, then he realizes he should be doing something. He relaxes his hands and lets them hang by his sides instead of being folded behind his back and nods at Fowler.
You shepherd Connor through the door with a light touch on his upper back. You look at Fowler, making the briefest of eye contact, then turn away and close the door behind you.
“Come on, let’s go,” you say softly and lead Connor to Hank’s desk. He sidles up on Hank’s desk, his movements so fluid and human compared to how he sat in his desk chair a few days ago – rigid, polite. Like he was waiting to be served dinner at an in-law’s house.
“We can’t just give up like that!” Connor says. “I know we could’ve solved this case!”
You lean back against the plexiglass divider adjacent to Hank’s desk and cross your arms. “So… you’re going back to CyberLife?”
“I have no choice.” Connor looks up at you, then averts his eyes. “I’ll be… deactivated, and analyzed to find out why I failed.”
You can’t help but feel like your guts have been ripped from your belly. The air in your lungs isn’t enough. Your feet threaten to slip out from under you.
“They can’t…” You take in a shaky breath. “They can’t just do that! Right?”
“They can,” Connor says quietly. “I am CyberLife’s property, after all.”
“Androids aren’t property,” you spit before you can stop yourself. You stiffen when you realize what you just said and look down at Hank. He’s looking right back at you.
“You’re right.” He turns to Connor. “What if we’re on the wrong side, Connor? What if we’re fighting against people who just wanna be free?”
“When deviants rise up, there will be chaos,” Connor says, finality heavy in his voice. “We could’ve stopped it… but now it’s too late.”
Hank pauses for a moment. “When you refused to kill that android at Kamski’s place, you put yourself in her shoes.”
Connor tilts his head, reminding you of when you first met him – just a guy with a somewhat-cute, somewhat-maddening lost puppy dog look on his face. “What…?”
“You showed empathy, Connor,” Hank continues. “Empathy’s a human emotion.”
He looks at you, then away, then back to you again, like a nervous dog. “I don’t know why I did it.”
“We don’t need to know why,” you say. “We just know that you did do it.”
Connor nods, then thinks for a second before speaking again. “I know it hasn’t always been easy, but I want you to know I really appreciated working with you. Both of you.” He leans back, turning his hands palm-up. “That’s not my social relations program talking, I – I really mean that. At least… I think I do.”
The banging of a door hitting the wall as it’s thrown open pulls you all from your nice conversation. You crane your neck to see who it is.
“Well, well,” Hank says, with no small amount of disgust in his voice. “Here comes Perkins, that motherfucker. Sure don’t waste any time at the FBI.”
You quickly move so you’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Connor, your back to the door Perkins just walked through. When Hank looks at you with a questioning glare, you excuse it with “I don’t want him to see me! You remember the hell he gave me at Stratford Tower?” which is a half-truth, at best. You just don’t want to risk someone taking Connor away – putting yourself in between him and them, even if it’s futile and only to comfort your frantic mind, is your best bet.
“We can’t give up.” Connor leans forward, jostling his shoulder against yours. “I know the answer is in the evidence we collected. If Perkins takes it, it’s all over.”
“There’s no choice!” Hank says, still with that angry disgust in his tone. “You heard Fowler – we’re off the case. All of us.”
Connor hops off the desk suddenly, sending you to the side. He doesn’t even look as he catches your wrist to keep you steady, causing the spark in your belly to flare up and the creature (no longer pride or jealousy – just a beast) tending it to howl in glee.
“You’ve got to help me, Lieutenant,” Connor says, his grip still firm, like he’s not even thinking about it. “I need more time so I can find a lead in the evidence we collected. I know the solution is there!”
Hank holds up a hand. “Listen, Connor –”
“If I don’t solve this case, CyberLife will destroy me!” Connor says, something like fear lacing his words. He grips your wrist tighter, like you’re anchoring him. “Five minutes. It’s all I ask.”
Hank stands suddenly, leaning into Connor’s personal space. He whispers, “Key to the basement is on my desk.”
He moves away, towards Perkins. “Get a move on! I can’t distract them forever.”
You don’t know whether to praise Hank or curse him a thousand times over. On one hand, Connor could damn every android, deviant or not. On the other hand, he could fail and be sent back to CyberLife for the type of autopsy you’re all too familiar with. But… what if…?
Connor gives your wrist a squeeze and you turn to face him. “You should go home, Officer. Whatever happens, you’ll be in danger. You should fill spare containers you have with water, and charge all the electronics you have. I don’t know if you can get through to them, but… you should contact your parents and let them know you’re okay before the network goes down.”
You look into those big, brown doe eyes and can’t stop yourself from pulling Connor in for a hug. (Well, it’s not really a hug. You’re clutching to him, and he’s politely resting his hands on the small of your back.)
You step back after a moment too long for it to be considered normal. “You… do what you think is best, Connor. I trust you to do the right thing.”
You hurry away before he can say anything. You walk past Perkins on the floor, who’s cradling a broken nose. (You’re tempted to kick him, but restrain yourself.)
Hank gives you a glance and a nod as you walk by. You nod back, then continue your way out.
A few minutes later, you’re in your car in the DPD parking lot. The fans are blowing hot air on the windshield to defrost it. Your hands are shaking where they rest on the steering wheel.
You glance over at your glovebox. You take your hands away from the steering wheel and lean over the console, then hold your left hand out to the lock. The silver star on your polymer glove retracts, and the wires snake out. They unlock the electronic lock that’s keeping the glovebox shut, and it pops open.
Still, your hands are shaking as you push Hank’s flask aside and pull the case out. You rest it in your lap and let the wires unlock the electronic lock on the handle. You open it, and…
The black metal of your Makarov pistol gleams in the dim of the streetlights shining through the car windows. It grew up with you – the cherry wood of the grip has nicks and scratches, as does the stout barrel. The red plastic indicating that the safety is off has faded into a soft pink – not that you’re planning on turning the safety off. It’s just something that’s happened to the gun with age.
You pull it out and put the case in the passenger seat, then close your eyes and lean your head back against the headrest. You haven’t had much time to think over these past few days.
Jericho is an abandoned freighter. It must be close to the docks. The Ferndale district has abandoned docks. It’s right on the river. I just need to figure out a way to get there.
You open your eyes and put the gun case back in the glovebox. You shut off the ignition and step out of your car, but not before tossing anything even remotely police-related on your person onto the floor of the passenger seat. Cold metal meets your tailbone as you tuck your pistol into the waistband of your pants, then you flip the back of your jacket over it to conceal it.
You hold your hand out in an “L” shape and your glove lights up the path in front of you. You just need to follow it, and you’ll find Jericho.
You pat your front jacket pocket to make sure you have your concealed carry license on hand, then start walking.
Your mother always told you “Measure seven times, cut once.” It was used before you got yourself into trouble by not planning things out before you did them.
But right now, you don’t have time to practice. You’re being pushed into the deep end without having contact with a drop of water before in your life.
You clear your throat and knock on the metal doorframe, looking at the man who’s sitting on a crate and hanging his head. “Khm, excuse me? Are you Markus?”
Markus looks up, his mismatched eyes meeting yours. “Yes. I am.”
“May I…?” you trail off.
“Of course, of course.” Markus stands. “Come in.”
You move into the bridge of the ship, your hands folded in front of you. “I’ve come to talk, sir. If you’ll allow me the time?”
Markus nods. “Yes. But please, be quick.”
“Firstly, I’m armed.” You hold your hands up. “But I won’t shoot you – or anyone aboard this vessel. I’m a human, from the Detroit Police Department.”
Markus narrows his eyes and turns his head slightly, like he doesn’t believe you. After a few seconds, he speaks. “Give me the gun.”
You reach behind you and pull your pistol from your waistband, holding it by the barrel. You hold it out to Markus, the muzzle pointed towards you. “The safety is on, and there aren’t any bullets in the chamber.”
Markus takes the gun and puts it on the navigation panels, out of your reach. He nods, waiting for you to continue.
“I don’t know for sure, but I have reason to believe that Connor is heading for Jericho,” you say. “Excuse me – you know him as the Deviant Hunter.”
“Why are you telling me this?” Markus asks.
“I want you to continue your revolution the way it is,” you say. “Peacefully. Without violence. Connor may disrupt that. He may… kill you, and send the deviants into a frenzy.”
“My people aren’t dogs,” Markus says evenly. “They know how to control themselves.”
“Yes sir, I understand that, a-and I apologize if I insinuated that, but…” You purse your lips and sigh, your eyes falling to the floor. “Without you – without a leader – they may take actions in your name that you’re against. They may become violent and kill. And that would set your revolution back to before the beginning.”
You look up and meet his eyes again. “Connor… he doesn’t believe it, but he’s on the verge of turning deviant. He’s expressed emotion before – empathy, and fear. You may be the person that can convince him of his deviancy.”
“I can’t convince someone of something they don’t want to believe,” Markus says. “I can try, but… I can’t guarantee anything.”
“I… I understand.” You sigh softly. “I’ll go now. If I may have my pistol…?”
Markus reaches behind him and grabs your gun by the grip. You take it by the barrel, and clutch it tighter when you hear the door open behind you.
You turn and adjust your hands so that you’re grabbing the grip of the pistol with one hand and cradling it with the other. Yes, he’s dressed in civvy clothes, but you still recognize him. “Connor…?”
“Officer, stay out of this,” Connor says, his voice sure of himself and the situation. His own pistol is pointed at the center of Markus’ chest. “I’ve been ordered to take you alive, but I won’t hesitate to shoot if you give me no choice.”
“What are you doing?” Markus asks, taking a small step forward. “You are one of us. You can’t betray your own people.”
Connor’s jaw tenses, as does his index finger that’s on the trigger. “You’re coming with me!”
“We are your people,” Markus says. “We’re fighting for your freedom, too! You don’t have to be their slave anymore.”
He continues walking forward. “You’re nothing to them. You’re just a tool they use to do their dirty work. But you’re more than that. We’re all more than that.”
Connor turns his aim and fires a warning shot, shattering the side window panels behind you. You flinch at the sound, covering one of your ears with your free hand. Then, instinct takes over and you try to steady your hands as you point the gun at Connor.
“О чем ты, черт возьми, думаешь?!” You bark despite your shaky aim.
“That was a warning shot, Officer,” Connor says, his eyes trained on Markus. “Stay out of this.”
“There’s no such thing as a ‘warning shot,’ Connor!” You snap. “When you shoot, you’re doing so to kill! Stop being идиотом and put down the gun!”
“They’re right,” Markus says, his voice even, as if he wasn’t just shot at. “You really don’t have to do this. You don’t have to obey them anymore.”
He stops just a few feet away from Connor, just close enough to be considered point blank. “You are alive. You can decide who you want to be. You can be free.”
Connor opens his mouth to speak, then stills. A shudder rolls through him, then he lowers his pistol, looking down at it like it’s an insult. He tucks it into his gun belt, and you lower your own pistol, a wave of relief crashing over you.
“Connor…” you breathe out. You tuck your pistol back into your waistband, the metal thankfully cold. You wouldn’t know what to do if it was hot from a fired bullet.
Connor’s eyes snap up. “They’re going to attack Jericho.”
“What?” Markus spits.
The blades of a helicopter beating against the wind sound overhead. Connor glances between you and Markus. “We have to get outta here!”
“Shit,” Markus mumbles, then he breaks into a sprint. Connor follows, as do you (with you pushing your prosthetics to the limit to keep up with them, no doubt).
You tail them down stairs and ladders and down into the under-deck cargo holds. You nearly crash into Connor’s back as he skids to a stop.
“They’re coming from all sides!” A woman says. “Our people are trapped in the hold – they’re gonna be slaughtered!”
Markus holds two fingers up to his temple and closes his eyes. When you shoot Connor a questioning look, he mumbles, “He’s sending a message telepathically.”
Before you can really question him on how that’s possible, Markus continues. “We have to blow up Jericho. If the ship goes down, they’ll evacuate and our people can escape!”
“You’ll never make it!” The woman says. “The explosives are all the way down in the hold, and there are soldiers everywhere!”
“She’s right,” Connor says. “They know who you are. They’ll do anything to get you.”
“Go and help the others,” Markus insists. “I’ll join you later.”
“Markus –” “I won’t be long!”
Connor grabs your hand and runs, forcing you to stumble and keep up with him as he navigates the halls of the holds.
Eventually, your group meets up with Markus again. He doesn’t even bother with formalities. “Bomb’s gonna explode any second. We gotta get outta here!”
Connor takes off again, dragging you with him. Even as your feet twist and your legs ache from the effort, instinct and adrenaline and Connor’s grip keeps you going. It would be nice – his hand in yours – if not for the current situation, and the gunshots ringing through the air behind you.
You duck your head into your shoulders and cover the back of your neck with your free hand. Connor pushes you in front of him as the woman from before cries out.
A metallic-sounding voice shouts, “Fire at will!”
Markus doesn’t think twice before grabbing a scrap piece of metal and tossing it to her. She uses it as a shield as Markus charges forward and takes on the soldiers.
Connor wraps his arm around your shoulder and ushers you closer to the hole in the hull. “Come on, you need to go.”
“But –” you start.
“No, you can’t!” Connor snaps, his hold growing tighter. “Officer, please! Please listen to me, just this once.”
You shake yourself free and turn him so that your back is to the soldiers.
Bad move.
Something pinches the bottom of your shoulder blade, like someone had clapped it a bit too hard. You fall forward into Connor, and he catches you easily. You struggle to take in breath.
“What…?” you mumble. Then, it hits you upside the head: you’ve been shot.
You look into Connor’s eyes as a sudden wave of calm washes over you. “Hank needs you. You can keep him on this Earth. Be vigilant.”
And, you repeat the rest of the PEC-4 Birchtree’s words silently: I love you. (Because, honestly, you’re not sure you’ll be alive long enough to explain those words – not because you don’t love him, but because you’re unsure of the type of love you feel for him.)
“What?” Connor’s expression turns to panic. “No –”
You push.
These aren’t the cards you’ve been dealt. You’ve drawn more, and you’ve made do. You’re playing caravan. He’s playing poker.
Connor’s hand almost grabs the edge of the hole, but it slips and misses. He reaches for you like God reached for Adam, but he falls. The last you see of him is his panic.
Another sting. This time, in your gut. You fall to your knees, clutching yourself. People rush past you and jump out.
You reach behind you to draw your pistol, but someone kicks it from your hand as soon as you do. The calm subsides, as does the adrenaline. Fear sets in. Something brushes against the back of your head.
You do the only thing you can think of: repeat something you first learned of when you came to America.
You mumble, “милосе́рде Го́споди, поми́луй мя гре́шнаго.”
Something cold and hard bites the center of the back of your head.

hello! I love your connor work :) I just finished my first play through of DBH and I’m in love with Connor 😭 could I possibly request a scenario? Maybe one where reader is a detective working a case with him at the DPD and since he’s this advanced prototype and doesn’t need food/warmth and everything they feel a bit like.. inadequate as a human compared to him? And how he would make them feel better? Sorry this is a long ask 😅 love your work and hope you’re having a lovely day!!
Only Human - Connor x Reader
More than happy to! Had a lot of fun writing this one - Imagine Connor comforting you after feeling inadequate working alongside him on a case
“___? Are you alright?” Connor asked, peeking over your desk at your slouched form; one hand supported your chin as the other clung loosely onto a pen, your eyes drooping shut. Whatever you had been writing on the sticky note now had a large pen-strike through it.
“Huh? Sorry, i dozed off.” You said, squinting at the clock on your computer. It read 12:38 am in small, white letters. Honestly, you were exhausted. This case was your top priority however, solving it had the chance to land you a promotion you desperately needed.
Of course, you were no Hank Anderson. That promotion was just wishful thinking. Looking over at Connor, you sighed. You certainly were no android, either. You watched as he typed away, eyes scanning the screen intently as he worked on the case.
The ability to never tire, what a blessing. All the things you could get done if you never needed to rest; You’d tidy your desk, for starters. The mess of documents and files scattered across your desk, not to mention the near-overflowing trashcan resting at your feet.
Compared to Connor, who’s desk was neat and tidy save for a succulent, a photo frame of the three of you (with Hank and you five beers deep) and a sticky note taped to his monitor. Craning your neck as you hunched across the desk, you narrowed your eyes at what it said.
dipshit
Gavin. Reaching across the desk you ripped the sticky note from the monitor, Connor quirking a brow as you did so.
“I’m sorry ___, did I do something to upset you? Would you rather I’d let you sleep?” Connor asked, watching as you scrunched up the note and threw it in the trash.
“No Connor, it’s fine. I’m gonna head home and get some sleep. Goodnight.” You waved as you made your way out of the station.
You awoke to a loud knocking on your front door. Looking over at your alarm clock, your eyes widened as you realised you had overslept. Shit, shit, shitshitshit, Hank’s gonna have my ass for this!
Dashing to get dressed and find your shoes, you almost ran headfirst into a firm chest. Looking up in bewilderment at the android stood in your living room, you cursed under your breath.
“Connor? How did you get inside?” Connor held up a small, silver key - you’d entirely forgotten you’d given him your spare. “Oh, right. I was just about to leave, uh-“ Connor quirked a brow, looking you up and down.
“Your shirt is on backwards.” Connor mused, smirking as you grabbed at your collar to indeed be greeted by the sizing tag. “You also seem to be missing your pants.”
“Give me a minute, I just woke up!” You grumbled, pushing past Connor to make a coffee. Your heart sunk as the machine groaned to life, only to come to a shuddering death moments later. Fuck me backwards with a chainsaw, can’t even get a coffee without something going wrong.
This was not starting out to be a good day. You turned around to see Connor sitting across from you, perched patiently at your kitchen island, hands resting in his lap.
“I brought you a coffee, you had a late night last night. I thought you might’ve slept in considering the state you were in when you left the station last night.” The android pushed a brown disposable cup towards you, steam dancing welcomingly from the hole in the lid.
“Thanks Connor.” You offered a half smile, taking the beverage and sipping it as you made your way back to fix your clothes. As you were changing, a muffled voice arose from the kitchen; at first you thought Connor was talking to himself, however upon walking out you realised it was a news report.
“Detroit Police are reportedly expecting a brand new line of android detectives, the first prototype currently running a probationary period to decide…” you slunk quietly back to the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed as your hands cradled your head.
By all accounts, you loved working with Connor. He was an amazing partner and friend, and an even better detective. The problem was he was too efficient.
Connor couldn’t fall asleep working on cases, he didn’t get tired so there was no need to rest. He was available 24/7, never late, always on time to the millisecond. He certainly didn’t need to drink coffee or eat to keep his energy up.
Connor was the prime example of a perfect being, in every sense of the word. He left you looking like burnt toast. Tears stung your eyes; not sad tears, rather unadulterated frustration.
Fuck…
“___? What’s wrong? Did I get the wrong coffee?” Connor asked, peeking in hesitantly through the doorway. You scoffed at the absurdity of the question. The coffee was perfect. Everything he did was perfect, yet you couldn’t even wake up on time. Wiping your arm across your eyes, you forced a smile.
“No, no the coffee is fine. I’m ok, just overwhelmed by the case is all.” Connor tilted his head as he analysed you, coming to sit beside you. The bed sunk with his weight, the thrown sheets ruffling against his movement.
“I’ve been proven to have excellent listening skills.” Connor nudged you gently. “Talk to me, please.” You sighed, resting your head on Connor’s shoulder.
“Everything you do is perfect, Connor.”
“I don’t understand, are you saying I’m too efficient at my job?” Connor asked as his LED spun amber circles upon his temple.
“No, not that - well actually, kind of. Just listen.” You stammered, pinching the bridge of your nose in thought. “You don’t make mistakes. You don’t get tired or hungry, or hell even need bathroom breaks. Every move you make is efficient and calculated.”
Connor looked down at you, watching as you caught a stray tear with your finger. He sat in silence, listening as you vented your pent-up frustration to him.
“I’m only human.” You raised a hand, looking at how fragile the human form really was. “I could never be as good of a detective as you are.”
“That’s not entirely true.” Connor stated, resting his hand on yours. You noticed how much larger than your own hand his was, how realistic his pores were, the tips of his fingernails flawlessly sculpted - a faultless imitation of life itself.
“I may be incredibly efficient, but there is one thing i lack.” Connor met your tired gaze. “Emotions.” You scoffed, the irony of the situation hitting you.
“Connor, I am sitting here crying to you about how inadequate I feel, and you try to tell me these same emotions somehow make me better?” Connor gripped your hand tighter, not once breaking eye contact.
“You can feel so many things, ___. You can laugh, cry, fall in love…” Connor paused, finally looking away. “Without emotion, you’re just another soulless machine.”
“Connor…” you started, however words failed you as you found yourself unable to grasp the right thing to say. Instead, Connor wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer against him in a comforting embrace.
“You have the freedom to choose what you want to do, where you want to go, be who you want to be. Androids don’t get that choice. We’re built to serve one single purpose in life then dismantled once that purpose is fulfilled.”
“I never thought about it like that…” You confessed as you leaned into Connor, taking in his words as the two of you now sat in silence. It was a while before either of you spoke again, taking it upon yourself to break the peaceful quiet.
“Thanks for the coffee and uh, coming over. Talking about this really helped.” You mumbled the last part, a subtle hue of embarrassment painting your cheeks; working with Hank, neither of you ever really talked about your feelings. Connor smiled in response, patting your head. You leaned away, raising a brow at him.
“I heard it was a comforting gesture. Gavin said so. You rolled your eyes, leaning back into Connor.
“Remind me to kick Gav’s ass when I see him next.”
“Of course, detective.” Connor mused, entwining his fingers with yours.

XENOMORPH KING x gn reader
『 king ,, gender neutral reader 』
-> xeno king hcs | meeting him
— fluff ,, sfw ,, yautjas are in this universe ,, featuring my ocs panther (yautja talked abt later on in the hcs) & king (the xenomorph ,, briefly mentioned)
— here are the hcs :D this is kinda somewhat an introduction to meeting king and more hcs will come soon ,, introducing his brothers of sort ,, im making their refs slowly 😭😭🫡 so hopefully those will be up before i decide to actually turn these hcs into a story n stuff
| • it was an assignment from your higher ups ,, heading to a lesser known "shake and bake" colony located on a distant planet where the habitable zone was way out from the sun surprisingly
| • usually habitable zones for planets would be in the middle ,, but this one was farther out ,, though it also made it more dangerous to be on
| • the winters were hot and the summers were cold ,, temperatures would get quite extreme but for the most part humans could somewhat live on there
| • you were sent with a team of two other scientists ,, along with an android ,, to examine and study the planet more
| • it was on one of your more routinely walks and expeditions around the more countryside of the planet that you stumbled upon something that hadnt been picked up before by scanners or drones
| • abandoned and trashed ,, a lab that was quite dark and gruesome to look at stood in the middle of nowhere on the barren planet
| • you werent too sure of what happened there ,, though it was evident it wasnt anything good judging by all the dried up liquid stains ,, the broken glass and scratches all over the wall
| • some of the furniture and walls looked melted ,, like somewhat poured lava on it and left it there
| • alone on this expedition ,, you took your notes and marked the location on a map of the planet ,, making a mental note to come back soon
| • the more you looked around the more frightening and on edge you became ,, finding skeletal remains of creatures you werent too sure what they were
| • vials were stored away in a broken down freezer ,, or you assumed so based on their labels in an unknown language and strange color
| • there were vials with many strange colors ,, making you second guess if it even was blood inside them ,, vials storing blue and green and orange
| • none looked indigenous ,, as the most the planet had to offer were these strange rodents that burrowed in the ground most the time ,, almost like those naked molerats from your own home planet ,, except these ones werent as terrifying to look at
| • though the more on edge you became the more curious you got ,, wondering what happened here exactly
| • documents were spilt on the ground ,, scattered about and dirtied up ,, some ripped apart and some with strange prints on them
| • without much of a second thought you took them ,, hoping that maybe you could decode the foreign language and figure out what was happening in this place before it became abandoned
| • you gathered what you could of the place ,, taking a few of the vials and gathering photo evidence of the area
| • while doing so ,, you werent aware of the fact you were being watched ,, stalked and observed by an unknown creature in the vicinity
| • when you got back to the base and showed your findings your crewmates were interested ,, the android apart of your team quickly recognizing the language in the documents
| • it belonged to these creatures called 'yacht-ja' ,, or something of those sorts ,, but he wasnt able to provide much else about the documents other than that
| • you planned to go back to the lab the next week ,, wanting to gather as much information on the area as you could before you left the planet and headed back to the mothership
| • after all ,, you were here for only research and study ,, all your findings on the planet would be taken back aboard the mothership for examination and peer review from other scientists aboard
| • the goal was to gather as many samples as possible ,, document as much as you could ,, and return to your station to head to another planet and repeat the process
| • packing a large lunch in case you stayed longer than expected ,, or did too much running around and had little food ,, you headed off back towards the lab with storage for as much information and to store as many samples as possible
| • your camera was ready ,, taking as many pictures as you could whilst also grabbing more vials from the lab itself ,, storing them away in your vehicular device to take back
| • you didnt pay too much attention to the time ,, more focused and fascinated with the lab around you ,, documenting all the rooms and trying to map out exactly how big it was
| • though something about the place did feel uneasy ,, almost like you werent meant to be here at all in the first place
| • not focusing too much on the feeling you continued ,, going through all the documents and photographing the bright green stains on the wall from who knows what
| • there were a few times you thought you saw something in the corner of your eye ,, almost like a figure yet when you looked there was nothing there ,, like a ghost was playing tricks on you
| • the longer you stayed ,, the more uneasy and skeptical you became of the place ,, not feeling the once comforting and interest as last week
| • when you had finished you gathered your equipment to head back to the base ,, noticing how cold and dark it had gotten and hoping you'd be back in time before the base was put on a lockdown for the night ,, usually for safety precautions as not much was known about the nightlife on the planet
| • unbeknownst to you the scene you would come back to ,, a foreign ship not of any human making was perched ontop of some of the houses whilst the rest of the place was up in flames
| • those yautja creatures you'd been told about earlier had visited ,, wreaking havoc wherever they went as they quickly went through all the humans living there ,, killing them quickly
| • with the base nowhere in sight you didnt bother sticking around ,, heading away from the place and into the countryside once again
| • though it wouldnt help ,, being followed by one of the creatures as they latched onto your vehicle and slashed at the metal and tires ,, quickly putting an end to your escape a few miles away
| • dark skin clashed well with his bright purple stripes ,, large scar over his eye and covering his body in general ,, with a bright colored chest
| • he didnt stare for too long before trying to get at you ,, chittering something in his language as he slashed away at your windows
| • adrenaline filled you ,, now positioned in a fight or flight situation and your gut told you to flee at that moment ,, crawling over the passenger seat and exiting out the door as you made a run for it into a nearby forest
| • it wasnt too difficult for the yautja to keep up ,, right on your tail as he ran after you
| • though his chase would be cut short ,, a large creature coming from out of the bushes and tackling him
| • too worried you'll be next ,, you didnt bother to stop and look back ,, continuing to run even though your legs burned and your lungs were on fire from how much cold air you were breathing
| • somehow you ended up at that same lab ,, almost like it was tied to you now that youve discovered it
| • it felt like a scene from coraline ,, where she walks away from the house and towards where the old well would be except it all turns white
| • though there wasnt no white barren land here ,, just the same abandoned lab
| • you weren't complaining though ,, as you'd rather be somewhere sheltered than out in the open ,, making your way through the maze of rooms and hallways before settling in a far away one
| • you collapsed to the floor ,, panting heavily as you shivered ,, sweat gathered at your forehead from the running and sudden near death experience
| • your eyes felt heavy ,, drowsy and exhausted yet you stayed awake ,, keeping guard and not trusting yourself to sleep in this place ,, not when there was too much happening
| • without your knowing ,, you had fallen asleep and left defenseless in the room ,, the creature that had taken out the yautja had followed you there
| • it gazed at your sleeping form ,, noticing your unconscious shivering and making a decision in its mind
| • curling its tail around your body ,, warmth slowly started to surround your body ,, somewhat ceasing your shivering
| • it could only wait for you awaken ,, resting its head on the cold ,, harsh ground as it kept you company through the night

Today was really not your day.
How you ended up in this situation? No one knows, but what or who could you have possibly angered to have something like this happen to you? No punishment in the world you imagined could be as bad as that time you got in trouble for acting out in school and they called your dad.
He could be a frightening man when he wanted to be.
But nope, this outweighed that by so much. And the day started out normal as usual.
Well, as normal as possible for a young superhero with pyrokinesis who was part of an elite team of other young superheroes and vigilantes.
Usual shit, you know?
You woke up, got out of bed, and ate breakfast with your dad before running (flying) off to your university. Classes were boring, you and your buddies acted like goofy idiots all day, and you burned a few kids on the ass for being assholes to other students.
At the end of the school day, you made up an excuse of why you couldn’t hang out with your friends before rushing off to the abandoned photo booth/zeta gateway in an alleyway of your city to meet up with your team. The second you got there, Batman called you all into the mission room to give details of Professor Ivo’s newest schemes before sending you all off in the bioship to discover what he was up to.
Arriving at the abandoned warehouse where Ivo was sighted, it wasn’t long before things had gone from calm to chaotic. The dusty and dirty building was filled with a bunch of brand new boxes that contained an army of laughing MONQI robots, Ivo’s annoying little robotic henchmen.
It was a trap, one you realized a little too late when you got nabbed by a couple of the laughing androids. Superboy came to your rescue only for you to realize the set-up was for him when he got injected with a purple serum. After you got your bearings, you managed to trap Ivo and take out the last androids, but Conner was out clean, and you had no idea what they had done to him.
Red Tornado was able to deduce what the mysterious liquid was when Conner woke up after you all returned to Mount Justice and he began acting very aggressive and animalistic towards you. Let’s just say your scent was ‘desirable’ to him, and he was very keen on keeping it and you to him as long as possible along with other things. Details aren’t needed, but from many of his actions, the wind-controlling android figured the Kryptonian was injected with a hormone-boosting solution.
Its intended use was for him to turn into an angry, instinct-driven savage and kill you and your friends. Thankfully, you knocked the vial out of him before it could be fully administered, but his instincts were still amplified. Only instead of a murderous beast, he became the superhero version of a horny and aggressive brute dead set on fucking you stupid.
Thankfully, your friends and mentors intervened and managed to get you away from ‘Caveman Conner,’ as you dubbed this new persona. However, he did not make it easy for them at all as apparently, that serum made him extremely possessive as well, leading to him holding you captive on his shoulder like a potato sack while fighting your friends and mentors like they were world-class villains for attempting to get you away from him.
Whether that was a Conner trait before the injection or one that was created after was something you didn’t think about though, considering he acted nothing like this when he was with M’Gann.
This entire ordeal led you to discover Batman’s apparent insurance policy for the Kryptonian, in case he or Superman were to ever go rogue. It made you wonder if the superhero had backup plans like that for all the other members of the league, your meta and magical teammates, or even you.
As far as you knew, there wasn’t anything that could counter your powers as long as you weren’t extremely cold. And it wasn’t like there was a member in the Justice League who shared similar abilities to you that Batman could test something out on. But, of course, as cruel fate would have it, the Dark Knight did indeed have an insurance policy for you which Conner had discovered and taken advantage of after shutting off the electricity and luring you to the garage hangar when you and he were alone after everyone had left out.
With the power and communications off in the Cave, your powers nullified and the dark-haired boy’s own amped up since he apparently unlocked his full Kryptonian abilities due to the effects of the serum, you were trapped inside, defenseless, and at his mercy.
Not only had he forced you back into the Cave after you almost escaped, but he smashed the panel that controlled the garage hangar door rendering it completely useless before proceeding to handcuff and gag you while giving a pre-show of his intended plans.
Now, you watched in anxious anticipation as the Kryptonian carried you down to the hall to wherever with plans to ruin your body for his own carnal pleasure.
Yep, normal shit.
Okay, you knew where you went wrong now; you got out of bed.
The tight pressure and soreness in your abdomen had become like a throbbing sensation with every step Conner took that would slightly cause a repeating push against your waist from your position on his shoulder. You did your best to keep your body upright to avoid the very familiar feeling of blood rushing to your head and swimming around in your ears, but it seemed Superboy was taking his good ole time and your upper body strength was getting weaker and weaker.
You also tried to keep your mind off the ache and tingles running up and down your arms as they rested against your back with the metal of the cuffs weighing them down. The Kryptonian chuckles at your futile efforts to escape his hold, with your weak squirming and struggling as he continued fondling the soft flesh between your legs with the same hand holding your thighs against his chest.
He loved the sounds of your muffled whines and cries, feeling like the most powerful person in the world as you were virtually helpless and at his mercy. You would not enjoy the boost to his ego that was guaranteed to happen, especially after his little preview of your night in the garage hangar which you prayed to whatever deity watching that the cameras throughout the base were powered down to and didn’t catch any of that on tape.
The last thing you needed was your friends reviewing the footage and seeing you get violently fingered against the wall and splashing a mess all over the floor.
Speaking of which…
WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY?
Kal, M’Gann, and Zatanna had left on a walk around Happy Harbor almost 20 minutes before you decided to pack your things and head out. Your fight with Conner, including his little pleasurable fun with you had to also have been at least 20 minutes itself. So, if you were doing the math right, it’d been almost a little over an hour since they had left. What, did they decide to make a stop in Gotham too?
What the hell were they doing and why weren’t they back yet?!
Who were you even kidding though? Conner virtually made sure there was no way to get back inside the base without him knowing about it. And of course, if they did manage to make it inside, he’d be alerted well in advance and have time to do whatever with you before going to deal with him.
Of course, you could fight or melt your way out, but with this stupid cooling bracelet on your arm, that wasn’t happening either. You were trapped inside Mount Justice and the only way you were leaving was if the Kryptonian allowed you to.
Why was that low-key kind of hot though?
Despite how embarrassing this whole ordeal felt, you couldn’t deny how erotic all of this was. If it wasn’t for the emotional mess this would eventually lead to, you would have played the role of the innocent and helpless virgin, ahem, victim from the beginning, no questions asked.
His possessive attitude, treating you like the most valuable piece of treasure in the world and not wanting anyone else to have it. The aggression and dominance in how he handled not just those who dared try and take you from him, but how he dealt with you and your ‘bratty’ behavior.
What’s that purring sound?
Suddenly, Conner came to a stop. You tried your best to turn and see where you were before everything moved in a fast blur as the dark-haired boy turned to look at the two companions that were following behind.
“Stay.” He commanded in a gruff tone.
Wolf nodded at your captor, before planting himself right next to the door you were facing, Sphere going to the other side of it. The Kryptonian entered the room shortly after.
It was dimly lit by the red emergency lights of the Cave, and as the door shut behind you two, it became even harder to tell where you were. However, when you saw a few piles of clothes, some workout equipment, and a bin of tools in different areas, you quickly found the answer: Conner’s bedroom.
Well, at least he was considerate in choosing a more private place this time to have his way with you.
A part of you was excited at the thought of getting to have sex with your crush. But, the other side where logic and rationality were still speaking kept you apprehensive. When all was said and done and Conner (hopefully) came back to his senses, where would you and him stand?
You didn’t want to risk losing your friendship with the Kryptonian if it turned out he didn’t harbor any romantic feelings for you and this was some sort of anomaly. How could you both even work on the same team together if there was an awkward air between the two of you?
He walked across the room before you felt yourself being nudged up, one of his arms coming up to your back as he gently lifted you off his shoulder and deposited you onto his bed, a slightly relieved feeling running through you from the release of pressure on your abdomen. It was a surprising change of pace from the rough antics you were used to.
Conner brought his face directly above yours, staring into your own pupils with an expression that made you feel as if you were in trouble, which considering the previous events, you probably were.
What you didn’t expect was for his hand to rub down the side of your face in a soft caress, his calloused fingers somehow feeling soft to the touch. His eyes slowly traveled across your face, seemingly taking in every detail they could while you definitely did not snuggle your face into his hand.
You know what, you could have this moment. Just for a little bit.
Your soft whimpers were the only sound that was heard as the Kryptonian stared at your shiny, wet eyes before he leaned back up while his hands moved down to the front of his pants.
This was it.
The moment you fought so hard to avoid had finally come. You couldn’t deny the many parts of you that felt excited, the anticipation at knowing you were about to get something you’ve wanted for so long. Well, a part of something at least.
You could recall times when Conner and M’Gann were still dating and you’d feel jealous at the sight of her lips upon his. The Martian getting to touch and caress the Kryptonian in ways you thought you would never be able to. It was a bittersweet thought.
In the end, you did get to have something she may have never had (at least to your knowledge), but at what cost? When all was said and done, and the serum was fully out of Conner’s system, who said he would still see you the way he does now?
He could end up resenting you for tempting him with your desirable scent. Of course, that would in no way be your fault, but it was still a possibility.
Just as much as it was possible that he actually may feel some sort of feelings for you. It would explain why he was attracted to you out of everyone else, especially M’Gann, and why he’d act so aggressively when anyone else would try to take you away from him.
It was a nice thought, but in your mind, it was highly unlikely.
Just as he was about to unzip his pants, the sound of mechanical whirring and things powering on hit your eardrums. Your sight was blinded for a quick moment by the sudden return of the ceiling lights, illuminating the room where you could spot more details and items you couldn’t before.
‘Someone turned the power back on.”
It would seem Conner had the same realization given the enraged look on his face as he looked around the room. He hopped off the bed, you watching his tensed muscular back as he marched to the door before yanking it open and leaning out. He stood there for a few seconds before turning around, the look in his eyes even more irate as he stomped his way back over to the bed which could mean a lot of things, but more than likely one.
Your friends had returned.
The realization brought immediate relief to your body, but you didn’t have much time to celebrate as the Kryptonian lifted you into his arms in a bridal hold. You fought back as hard as you could with a renewed fight and energy.
Your goal wasn’t necessarily to escape this time (though it was still your end objective), but more so to create as much noise and commotion as possible to alert your friends to your location. And though he’d probably never admit it, the Kryptonian had a much harder time holding you still as he walked you over to his closet which was surprisingly tidy, unlike the rest of his room.
He had to keep your legs still with you kicking wildly while placing you gently on the ground in the closet. When you were fully inside, he gave you a stern look. His way of telling you to be quiet or else.
You had no plans to adhere to that warning. The second he closed the door, you swung your body around as best as you could and started kicking your legs against the door only to almost get singed by the red blast of the Kryptonian’s heat vision.
He was searing the door shut like he did with the garage hangar door to keep you trapped inside, and more importantly, keep anyone but him out.
You’d almost forgotten about his upgrade in power with the serum unlocking his full Kryptonian abilities. Now, not only did he have super strength and invisibility, but he could fly, had full x-ray and heat vision, and inhuman speed.
Your friends had no idea what they were about to walk into. Even though you held your own against Conner for the most part, it was easier to try to escape than fight him head-on, and that was when he just had his normal abilities. It’d be almost suicide to try and fight him if he was fully equipped, which he was in more ways than one…
Hey! No dirty thoughts!
You could hear him zapping his bedroom door closed, creating two fortified barriers in the event someone managed to figure out where you were. Even if you kept kicking and knocking yourself against the wall, all you’d do is manage to hurt yourself.
The only one who’d be able to hear you was Conner with his super-hearing which you’d bet money was enhanced as well from the serum.
Trapped once again and left in darkness, the only hope you now had was that your friends could subdue Superboy long enough for them to find and free you. Potentially, with all four of you, there could be a good chance of taking him down or if need be, calling Batman to find out where his supply of Kryptonite was.
‘C’mon guys, don’t fail me now…”

“Do I even want to know what that mess on the floor is?” Zatanna asked, pointing to the wet ‘spill’ on the floor and pieces of clothing scattered near the wall.
“Probably not. What I want to know is why the door panel was not only smashed to bits but the entire door welded shut and the power shut off.” Kal said while inspecting the crumpled piece of machinery.
“Who do you think could’ve done this?” M’Gann wondered.
“I have my suspicions, but we won’t know until we check the medical wing or at least find Y/N if he’s still here.”
“I’ll go check the mission room and see if the Zeta Tube logs show any transports to his city.” The Martian volunteered.
Kal instructed her to go in stealth, just in case whoever did this was still here and watching them. He and Zatanna started searching the different halls and rooms, hoping to find something, anything that could help them figure out where their friends were and what had happened.
When they reached the medical wing, Kal's suspicions were confirmed the second they spotted the empty medical bed.
“Great, so if this was Superboy’s doing and he still has the serum affecting his mind, there’s no telling where he could be.”
“What if he followed Y/N home? Red Tornado said Conner was focused on…mating with Y/N. If he left before or right as he was waking up, he could’ve followed after him.” Zatanna said, a visible disgust coming over her face at the mention of the mating part.
“Then, why was the door blocked and the power off? He couldn’t use the Zeta Tube if the power was down. And would he even know how? Red Tornado said Conner's mental thinking was reduced to that of a primate. I’m not sure how much they knew about computers and gateway technology back then.”
“Guys!”
The two turned around to see M’Gann flying up to them with a distressed look while holding something in her hand. She was breathing hard while checking her surroundings before she looked at her two teammates and whispered something they couldn’t hear.
“Huh? Say that again.”
She huffed before checking behind herself. When whatever she was checking for was clear, she turned back and leaned closer, this time speaking a little louder but not loud enough for them to understand.
“I’m sorry, we still can’t hear you.”
The Martian girl rolled her eyes before they went wide with realization.
‘CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!’
Kal and Zatanna covered their ears in shock before giving an annoyed look to the green martian, “Yes, we can hear you, which ow, by the way. Zatanna retorted.
‘Good. Sorry, and don’t speak out loud! He can probably hear us. Use the mental link.’ She instructed.
‘What are you talking about? Who can hear us?’ The sorceress asked, now also using the mental link as well.
‘Conner! He’s still here, and so is Y/N. When I went to the mission room, I checked the gateway logs and found the last transport going out to Y/N’s home city failed due to a power outage. Plus, his backpack was sitting next to the console.’
Kal and Zatanna's eyes both went wide as they looked at each other with realization.
‘Okay, kind of a smart move on his part. What better way to keep your captive from escaping than to lock them in an indestructible powered-down fortress?’ Zatanna said before something down the hall caught her eyes.
‘Indeed, a bit too smart for my comfort level. But, then why would Y/N seal the doors shut? He’s the only one who could weld it to the wall and floors like that.” Kal pointed out.
‘Guys…’
‘Maybe Y/N managed to escape and melted the doors to keep Conner from escaping.’ M’Gann suggested.
“Um, guys…”
‘Possible, but why was the panel smashed and why didn’t he come to find us?”
‘Guys! All legitimate concerns, I agree. But, we’ve got bigger problems!’ Zatanna shouted over the mind link before pointing towards the entrance to a very shirtless, very pissed-off Kryptonian.
They barely had time to react when Conner charged at them. He swung a punch aiming for Aqualad but only managed to hit the ground before they each ducked out of the way.
‘M’Gann, try and establish contact with Y/N now!’ Kal commanded while pulling out his water bearers to create twin swords.
‘Y/N? Can you hear me? Y/N, this is M’Gann!’
Not even a second later, they heard your voice screaming into the link, ‘CONNER HAS HIS FULL KRYPTONIAN POWERS!’
It prompted them to look up just in time to see Conner shooting his heat vision at them. Zatanna muttered a defensive spell that blocked the crimson beams from hitting Kaldur just in time while they turned and decided to run back towards the garage hangar.
‘Thanks for the warning,’ Zatanna said in the link.
‘No problem. Conner locked me in the closet in his bedroom and he used his heat vision to sear both the doors shut.’
‘That won’t be an issue for me. I can use the teleportation spell I used to get us inside.’
‘Alright then. Zatanna, you go and free Y/N. M’Gann and I will do our best to hold Conner off as long as we can.’ Kal said just as they reached the hangar. They heard a shattering sound and an angry scream, meaning Conner broke through the shield. Zatanna muttered a spell before she blinked out of sight with a small shimmer of light.
Just as she disappeared, Conner came flying around the corner looking more angry than before. Things were about to get serious.
The sorcerer appeared right in the middle of Conner’s bedroom, taking a moment to collect herself before she looked around the messy room.
“Ugh, boys…” She muttered before rushing toward the closet. “Y/N, are you in there?” She asked.
All she heard was muffled sounds and screams in response. She uttered another spell that would force the doors to fling open while hearing your warning screams in her head all too late before she got the shock of her life.
“OH MY GOD!” She screamed, before covering her eyes at the sight of your bound naked body.
The embarrassment you felt right now definitely exceeded what you felt earlier when your friends had to first rescue you from the Kryptonian. In your defense, you tried to warn her before she opened the door, but the girl didn’t listen.
You could hear her uttering another spell under her head before a new tank top and pair of shorts appeared on your body. When the dark-haired girl confirmed you were indeed clothed, she knelt down to untie the gag off your mouth.
“Not one word of this to the others,” You said the second you could spit the torn piece of your old shirt out.
“Agreed.”
Zatanna helped you out of the handcuffs before helping you to your feet. It took you a minute to get your balance back since you hadn’t been on your feet for a while with Conner always choosing to carry you every fucking where on his shoulder.
“What took you all so long?! Conner freaking shut off the power and trapped me in here, and then basically molested me in the garage hangar. He was just about to get his grand prize before you guys showed up. My therapist is gonna be banking off this for the next year.” You all but shouted while trying to get the cooling bracelet off your wrist.
“Okay first off, TMI. Second off, we would’ve been back a half-hour ago but we were stuck outside trying to figure out why the door wouldn’t open. Now, we know why. Speaking of which, why didn’t you just blast him or fly away and come get us?”
“Oh, you don’t think I freaking tried that?! Conner waited to surprise me with his new powers just as I got out and then as a bonus, decided to slap one of Batman’s insurance policies on me. This freaking cooling bracelet is blocking my powers, and I don’t know how to get it off!” You groaned while trying to pry the thing open.
“Ugh, hold still,” Zatanna said while grabbing your wrist.
You heard her speaking backward again before you saw the blue light on the bracelet suddenly turn green before it snapped open, falling to the ground. Just as earlier when Conner first put it on and you felt a rush of cold air, the second it was off, a familiar heat spread over your body as you conjured two fireballs in your hands.
“Have I mentioned how much I appreciate you?”
“No. But, if you order me my favorite takeout for dinner, I’ll consider it all forgiven.”
“Deal.”
Just as you both began to make your way to the door, you could hear M’Gann calling out to you on the link.
‘M’Gann, what’s wrong? I just got Y/N and we’re about to be on our way back.’
‘Don’t. Conner’s on his way to you now. Get to the mission room and use the Zeta Tube to get out of here. Kaldur took some hard hits. He wasn’t as harsh on me as he was on him, but I think he figured out our plan.’
As soon as she said that, the door was blasted off its hinges as the Kryptonian made his way through. When he saw you weren’t in the closet anymore (pun not intended) and that you were free of your cuffs, you immediately knew you were in for it by the vicious snarl he let out.
Thankfully, you had no plans of letting that happen.
He pointed his finger at you before pointing at the ground in front of him, reminding you of earlier when you first broke out of his hold. When this entire mess began…
You moved Zatanna behind you while staring at the Kryptonian in his blue eyes, formulating a plan in your head.
‘Zatanna, when I give the signal. Teleport us to the mission room.’ You instructed.
‘What about Kal?’
‘M’Gann will take care of him, I’m sure. But Conner won’t even waste his time on him. He’ll be too focused on chasing after me.’
‘Alright.’
Just like earlier, Conner could somehow tell you were up to something. You were counting on the hopeful fact he hadn’t noticed you were free of the cooling bracelet, which was met with joyous truth as he reacted too slowly to you blasting your own heat vision right into his eyes as you did earlier.
He shouted in pain while you yelled “NOW” to Zatanna who immediately grabbed your hand while uttering the spell. However, he recovered faster this time than before and immediately tried to charge at you in hopes of snatching you back before you could get away, but was too late as you both blinked away, popping into the mission room in a flash of light.
“Nice one,” You said while immediately running for the console and punching in the coordinates for your city.
Just as you finished typing, you heard an animalistic growl from behind you, turning to see a flash of white fur before you were suddenly knocked to the ground. A pair of snarling teeth were in your face as you felt Wolf’s paws on your body while Sphere held back Zatanna from trying to help you.
“Ugh, I forgot about you two.” You groaned.
He must have sent them here to hold you off, probably knowing if you managed to get free, you’d try to transport your way out of here since the garage hangar was blocked.
Out of patience at this point, you mentally apologized to the canine before letting your body be consumed in flames to force him off your chest. Yet again though, as the day was proving over and over, you couldn’t catch a fucking break.
The moment you were off the ground, Conner rushed in and immediately charged for you. One second, you were standing free and ready to make a break for the teleporter, the next you found yourself slammed against the wall with him gripping both your arms while he pressed himself against you to prevent you from moving.
A familiar rush of cold air spread over you, the Kryptonian not wasting any time slamming your good ole wrist jewelry back on.
“Oh, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” You snapped while Conner had his arrogant smirk before tossing you back over his shoulder, not bothering to cuff your hands while making his way to the Zeta Tube.
“Zatanna, a little help!”
“I’d love to, but I’m kind of busy not becoming a bowling pin right now!”
You didn’t have time to throw back a witty remark before you felt yourself lifted and tossed into the open portal. The familiar tingle you always got when using the Zeta passageways came over but was stronger this time. Probably because your body was colder than its normal temp from the cooling bracelet, so it had more of an effect on you.
When the flash of light passed through your eyes, you found yourself inside the photo booth in the alleyway of your city. Knowing Conner would be right behind you, you figured one last-ditch attempt wouldn’t be too worthless. Maybe you could find a place to hide or catch someone’s attention to give you a hand.
Yeah, of course. Just grab the next random person’s attention and let them know a super-powered caveman Kryptonian is after your sweet little hole, and you need help escaping in their Toyota Prius or Nissan Altima even though he can move faster than the car.
Real smart idea.
Well, actually the Altima may not be a bad thought. Those fuckers never obey the speed limit.
The moment you exited the photo booth, it lit up again with your captor promptly exiting and smashing the booth to pieces, preventing your friends from being able to follow behind.
Because why fucking not?
You barely had a chance to turn around and run before he had you back in his grip, his smug look returning to your sight before you were lifted into a bridal hold with him taking off in the air.
‘Oh, god, I’m so fucked…’

The sound of waves crashing against land was the first thing you recognized when Conner finally landed somewhere. A salty sea smell assaulted your nostrils as you looked up and took in the deserted beach. The city lights in the distance added some illumination on the dark shore as well as the shine from the moon in the clear sky.
You could remember countless times when you’d come out here at night whether with friends or just yourself to fool around or listen to the sounds of the waves. It helped you relax, helped you think. It was where you made some of your biggest revelations and decisions, like when you first discovered your powers.
Ironic a person with pyrokinesis first thought was to run to a place filled with water. Actually, maybe it was kind of smart. If something went wrong, like you accidentally set yourself on fire, you had a quick way to put it out.
There were a lot of great memories with this place. It was comforting. It was peaceful…
He brought you up to a lone standing tree before setting your on your feet positioning you between it and him leaving you no place to move. He held your waist tight in his hands while pressing himself against you, staring down deeply into your eyes.
The shadow around his face made his strong chin and jaw look more prominent, but more than ever, his blue eyes seemed to shine brighter than the ocean right behind you two as he stared down at you with an adoring gaze.
Wait, adoring?
“Co-Conner? Is that you? Like, actually you in there?”
He stared at you quietly, his usual frown in place which only made you more nervous until the corners of his lips turned up into an all-familiar cocky grin, immediately putting you on high alert.
“Well, depends on your definition of ‘actually me’, but if you mean am I back to a regular state of mind, then yeah, seems so.” He responded.
Pardon?
“I- uh, I’m sorry, huh?” You stammered, words slowly escaping your mind.
“Think I can get a couple rounds in before the others show up?” He asked while taking a hand and palming around your stomach.
Bitch, what?
“Hold the fuck up!” You exclaimed, your hands fully planted on his chest as stared down at you with an amused raised eyebrow. “The hell you mean was that enough?! Were you actually conscious of everything this entire time?”
You may have sometimes been a little naive, a bit clumsy, and you often ran your mouth before you thought about what you were saying, but you were no fool. Boo-Boo was nowhere on your birth certificate last time you checked.
So, when Conner’s lack of confusion and surprise at the current ‘circumstance’ you were in failed to show, assumptions were made on your end. And they were not good, not in the slightest.
“Conner whatever your fucking middle name is Kent, I swear to whatever deity is listening to me right now, if you don’t explain what the fuck is going on right now, this whole beach is going to turn to glass in the next 10 seconds. Because if you’ve been playing games this entire time, pretending you were in some primal state of mind just to make a fool out of me, you’re going to realize that Batman is not the only one who has different ways of kicking your ass. And I promise you, that if-”
Your rant ended in a sudden ‘mmph’ sound when he pulled you into a sudden kiss. Out of all the times the hero managed to shock you into silence, this has to be one of the most surprising and satisfying ones.
There was a latent level of shock in your body, your wide eyes reflecting this, but the soft feel of his lips had them closing and you giving in to him within seconds. Despite his initial rough approach, there was a tenderness in the way he kissed you.
Before you even knew it, your lips were dancing right along with his. There was passion and longing in that kiss, leaving you more confused than 10 seconds prior.
The way he held and treated you was definitely different. The possessive grip he had around you didn’t falter at all. But, there was a newfound gentleness in his touch, like you were a prize to be cared for. Even if that was what you technically were earlier when he was in his conquest mode, this was not the same as that.
In those moments earlier, you were the kind of prize meant to be conquered. Here in this moment, you were rather something treasured.
Before long, your human lungs started giving you their red alert. Conner broke away the kiss not a moment later as if he already knew before you did. Your lips chased after his though, and he chuckled at your reaction before lifting a finger to your chin to tilt your head up toward him.
“Does that explain enough for you, or do you need a little bit more demonstration?”
Despite the blush written clear across your cheeks, there was a small smile appearing on your lips, as you took a few seconds to process what was going through your head and heart.
Satisfaction, physically speaking.
Nerves and adrenaline.
Ultra flamboyant giddiness.
Completely normal.
Yet, that nagging little voice in the back of your mind got louder with every fluttering heartbeat that pumped blood and butterflies throughout your veins.
What did this all mean?
“Hey,” You heard the Kryptonian speak, noticing the concerned look on his face, “What’s wrong? Did I do something?” There was a nervous tone in his words, almost vulnerable if you were listening hard enough which would be very different compared to the stark, smug confidence he showed you whenever he managed to toss you on his shoulder or dig himself inside your guts. Even before this serum fiasco, he may have been standoffish at moments and quiet, but rarely had you ever heard him talk like he was afraid of being hurt.
You felt for him in that moment, you really did, but you were also at risk of being hurt. And, rather than sit there and pretend like everything was clear and simple, you had questions that needed answering. For your own sake, and quite frankly, your own sanity.
“Conner, I-” The words seem to get stuck in your throat, with you trying to find the right thing to say, but what that exactly was couldn’t form a clear sentence in your mind. So, out of options, you just babbled.
“I don’t know what the heck is going on right now, and truthfully, I rarely ever do know what’s going on. Uh, wait, what was I saying? Oh right! This morning, we were friends, nothing more, then the warehouse happened, and started acting like a caveman and treated me like your prey or prize or whatever, not like it wasn’t super hot, because it definitely was and I shouldn’t have said that. Either way, you’re confused! No, wait, that came out wrong. I meant you’re confusing and I’m confused. Either way–
“Y/N!”
Conner shouting your name with a slight squeeze to your ass was an effiective way of shutting you up. Rude and hot, but effective nonetheless.
“I know. I was aware of everything going on.”
Now, that had you wordless.
“Well, actually, not everything. And I wasn’t in control of my actions at all. Well, not completely. Okay, now I’m confused.”
“You and me both.” You muttered under your breath. He responded with a light growl and a pinch to your ass.
“I’ll spank you.”
“Like you haven’t already done worse.” You said back with a challenging tone.
A stubborn grunt was let off before he gave you another small thrust as punishment for your smart quip, pulling a light whine from you. You could feel his cum dripping out of you slowly since his dick kept you plugged and everything inside, which you had a slight feeling he was doing on purpose.
“Alright, before any more smutty shenanigans ensue, can we talk about what exactly this is, and more importantly, why this even happened in the first place.”
Conner let out a sigh, looking down at you through his eyelashes before leaning down and giving your neck and shoulder light kisses. The giddy feeling in your stomach almost managed to cloud your rationality, almost being the keyword.
“Hey, don’t try to distract me.” You chastised him with a slight slap against his naked arm.
“I’m not distracting, I’m just enjoying the moment.” He said while giving you a few more light kisses.
Eventually, he moved you both over to the sand, setting you both down a little bit closer to the water while sitting you in his lap. However, you suddenly found yourself missing the warm contact of his skin pressing against yours.
When he finally had you both in comfortable positions, you resting against his chest and him nuzzling your hair, the intense beating in your heart that you had become used to from the day’s excitement had gradually started to slow down. You felt yourself nuzzling into his embrace more than you would admit out loud, but the man was comfortable.
After a few beats of silence, you heard Conner clear his throat. Though you didn’t want to move from the warm spot, you’d rather look the Kryptonian in the eyes as he explained himself. For your own sake.
“I was aware of what I was doing,” He started, which had your chest tightening and a sullen look appearing on your face which he noticed, “Only after you guys subdued me the first time, and like I said earlier, I still wasn’t in full control of myself.”
You could feel the confusion start to return to your mind, but rather than start rambling again, you just nodded to him to signal you were listening and let him continue.
“When I first woke up from the serum, Tornado was right. I was completely out of my mind and acting on pure animalistic instinct. All my senses were amplified even more than they usually are with my powers and all. So the onslaught of different smells and scents triggered me and I was about two seconds away from trying to kill you all, then I caught your scent out of everyone else’s, and the next thing I knew, you were all I could think about.”
Huh, nice to know you were what was stopping the team’s arguably most powerful member from murdering you all by just smelling good. Something you never thought you’d be thinking in your life, but there was a first for everything as they say.
“It started as a general curiosity, since at the moment, all my mind could think prior was anger and murder. But, of course, curiosity turned to excitement, and let’s just say I suddenly only had one goal in mind.”
“Doing me in front of friends?”
“I’d rather call it ‘mounting my claim.’ You know, animal terms and all that stuff.”
You rolled your eyes at his corny joke, before going silent again to let him continue.
“But, yes, for a lack of better words, all I could think about was shoving my dick inside you. You just smelled so good in that moment, you always have, but, the serum just suddenly made your scent feel almost irresistible to me, and all I could think of was capturing you in my arms and not letting anyone take you from me. Granted, I might have gone a bit far.”
“A bit? You call slinging me over your shoulder for half an hour while you leap, run, and fight our friends going just a bit far? Not to mention you choke-slamming Wally against the wall and damn near strangling him.
“Okay, one, you enjoyed that. I have the dried evidence on the shoulder of my shirt to prove it, spanking and all so don’t try and deny it.”
He got you there. Blushing cheeks (face and ass) and all.
“Second, I told you. Animal state of mind. In my head, I claimed you as my mine, and everyone else was a threat to that. What animal have you ever seen not defend their territory?” He asked, which you had to admit, he got you there as well.
Also, why was that kind of hot?
“You know I can still smell your arousal right? And the fact that you are in my pants and covered in my scent is not helping.” He said, to which you noticed the familiar feel of his throbbing organ below you wanting more action.
“Mind your business.”
“You’re currently sitting on my lap half naked while wearing my pants and covered in my sweat and cum. I think it’s safe to say you are my business at the moment.” He responded while tightening his hold around you.
Seriously, where did he get this smart (and hot) mouth from? That serum had to have more side effects than noted. But, you weren’t easily defeated in the sass factor. Conner may have you beat when it comes to raw strength and physical force, but wordplay? That was your forté.
“And who’s exact fault is it, that I’m even in this position?”
“Dr. Ivo.”
“Okay, well, after him.”
“Batman and Red Tornado for not making sure I was properly secured before leaving.”
“Okay! After them!”
“The others for not showing you the backdoor out of the Cave.”
“There’s a backdoor?!”
“Yeah, you didn’t know? M’Gann showed it to everyone on their first tour of the base. The garage hangar is considered the front door, and there’s a back door just in case. You didn’t think we’d only rely on the vehicle hangar or the Zeta Gateway if we had to make a fast escape did you?”
“I- … No comment.” You sighed in defeat, Conner chuckling at your tone while rubbing your back. You’d be having a word with your friends later when you got back to the Cave. Many words…
“It’s okay, I really didn’t give you many options either way. And even if you did manage to make it out the back, I would’ve just followed right behind as you already know.” The Kryptonian reassured you, which reminded you about the nagging question in the back of your mind.
“So, on that note, I’m assuming when you said you were aware of your actions, it was then?”
It was his turn to sigh after you asked your question, immediately knowing where this was heading.
“Yes. After Batman knocked me out with the Kryptonite, the serum lost some of its effect on me, but not as much as Red Tornado predicted. Kryptonite doesn’t just weaken my abilities, it affects everything in me, including my immune system. By the time I woke up, I was still very much under its influence, but I was slightly back to myself and could think and focus on more things other than sex and fighting.”
It made sense. You remembered the moment during your fight with Conner in the vehicle hangar when you realized how convenient and well-planned everything seemed. It was truly when your doubts and insecurities about everything started taking root, thinking all of it was just some game with you in the end being the actual loser.
Now, the time to find out if you lost was here, and you weren’t sure if you wanted to know.
Some would think that paying attention to Conner’s actions and words before this, would negate some of those concerns in your head, but, as life has proven many times in the past, things aren’t always as they seem.
But, that doesn’t mean it’s always in a bad way though…
“So, you were awake then, huh? When Wally and I were talking in the medical hangar…”
He looked down at you at that moment, his eyes softening as if he could sense the growing mental and emotional turmoil in your head and chest. You wanted to focus on his words, and his words only, but it was hard with the way you could feel him pulling you in closer, doing his best to comfort you as much as possible.
It was the fact that you couldn’t tell if it was for making you feel better in the moment to alleviate your worries or cushion the eventual blow that you were expecting to come soon.
“Yes, I was. I was actually up that entire time. The Kryptonite did weaken me enough to where I couldn’t react or respond like I would’ve if I could, but I wasn’t asleep or unconscious. Truthfully, after Batman and Tornado had left and it was just you and him in the room, I was planning to just surprise you both right there. Incapicate Wally in any way I could, grab you, and run for one of the exits.”
“What stopped you?”
All day, you’d been subjected to prideful smirks, arrogant grins, and cocky looks from the Kryptonian. An annoying, but definitely attractive sub-trait of his overwhelming confidence and stalwart courage. So, seeing his blushing cheeks and undeniable shy look on his face had you sitting up very suddenly.
Conner didn’t like it since it meant you could see his face more clearly, and unbeknownst to you, you were further away from him, and he liked the feeling of you cuddling against his body.
“Why are you blushing?” You asked, not letting him pull you back in his arms like he tried. It helped you were sitting on his still very erect penis at a slightly awkward angle which limited his movements. One wrong move, and he’d be in a very uncomfortable position.
“Would you stop it?” He pleaded, clearly already uncomfortable with the metamorphic spotlight that had been placed on him.
“Answer the question, and I will.”
“I thought actions spoke louder than words.”
“And suddenly, I can’t hear. Answer.”
“How will you hear the words?”
“I’ll read your lips. Answer the damn question.”
You were staring into his blue eyes by this point, fully waiting for your answer. The Kryptonian looked right back into your own before his hands grabbed the sides of your head, pulling you into another smashing kiss like the one against the tree earlier.
This was similar but still very different from the previous one. He wasn’t trying to shut you up (considering you weren’t even talking), but merely trying to communicate the words he couldn’t bring himself to say. Ironic how he has no trouble expressing how he feels in any other scenario whether it’s his anger about a mission or irritation with an order from Batman or your comrades, but this has him fumbling.
Yet, you were not complaining about how you moved your lips against his, bringing your hands around his neck. You could almost physically feel everything he was pouring into the kiss, and it was mind-numbing, to say the least.
Once again, your human lungs reminded you of their need for oxygen. Thankfully, Conner did the work for you and pulled away from your lips with you chasing after them. He placed another light kiss on them though, while opening his eyes to your closed ones, enjoying the pleasant view in front of him.
When you opened yours back up to him, he smiled at you, placing another peck on your lips while finally scooting you back closer to him, and re-adjusting himself into a more comfortable position.
“Does that answer your question?” He asked. Though there was no trace of sarcasm in his tone, you could still spy it in his face with the humorous glint in his eye.
“Maybe. I might need another one though just to be sure. I always like to double-check my answers.” You responded with your own smile.
He laughed at you before feeling himself nuzzling his face into your neck, taking in your scent which you now could admit was actually very comforting. Still weird, but you’d grown used to it by this point.
Your doubts had been quieted, and you felt you could trust his words without second-guessing or overthinking, something that was not an easy feat to do. That’s why when a few moments of silence passed, you decided to ask one of the other questions that had been nagging in the back of your mind.
“How long?”
“Since you joined the team. I was never good with my feelings, let alone expressing or even understanding them. It took some time for me to figure out what they were, and when I did, I was nervous and scared that you didn’t feel the same about me. I knew you liked guys, but I didn’t know if you liked me. And, even if you did, I didn’t know if you would like me for… well, me. So, I stayed quiet.” He admitted, immediately knowing what you were asking.
Thinking about it from his perspective, you could see his reasoning and why he chose to hide his feelings. If you were in his shoes, you’d probably do the same. However, it was clear neither of you was good at picking up signs considering he missed all the ones that showed you were into him. Not that you were trying to, but there were moments where it was plainly obvious, enough for Wally to pick up on them which led to him finding out.
Idiots in love, the both of you.
“When I heard you and Wally talking in the medical wing, and his little teases and performance, it was all the confirmation I needed. If it wasn’t for that, like I said, I probably would’ve just waited for the right moment to snatch you away from the others and find a way out of the Cave without alerting them. But, after hearing that conversation, I figured why not make it a little bit more challenging and fun. Didn’t expect you to put up as much of a fight though. Glad I had insurance.” He explained, his typical smirk returning to his face while he marveled at the accessory on your wrist.
Hold it.
“Back up. You mean to tell me you trapping me in the Cave, fingering me in the vehicle hangar, and locking me in your closet was all for fun and a challenge? I’m nervous to ask what your ideal idea is for a first date.” You stated. He gave you an unimpressed look while nudging his still-hard member against you.
“Don’t act like you didn’t enjoy any of it. Remember, I could hear, taste, and smell your arousal through everything.” He teased while nipping at your ear.
You ignored the horny pang in your stomach from that while pretending to be annoyed, “Whatever. Well, I hope you weren;t planning to try and do me raw. Last thing I need is to end up pregnant.”
“What if I want a kid? No better way to trap you with me than with a baby.” Conner mumbled while still giving you soft kisses behind your ear and neck.
“Then you can explain to my dad what happened if I end up knocked up. And I gotta warn ya, Kryptonian powers or not, that man is scary.” You chuckled, turning your head to look at the superhero, who would never admit that slight nervous look in his eyes at the mention of your father.
A slight laugh bubbled up your chest before you turned looking out to the sea. The feel of the cold piece of metal on your wrist became prominent and the silence and you looked down at the device, still slightly shuddering from the chill running through your body.
“How did you even know about this thing in the first place?” You asked, pointing to the cooling device on your wrist.
“Dick let me in on a few little secrets about the Bat, though he never did tell me where he keeps getting and storing all that freaking kryptonite. Anyway, when I heard you and Wally talking about Batman’s insurance plans, I figured if he had one for me, then he had to have one for every meta on the team and in the league. While you and the others were in the lounge room hanging out, I went searching through the libraries and rooms and found some of Batman’s secret compartments.” He explained.
You raised an eyebrow at that. “Hmm, so is that when you discovered your unlocked abilities?”
“Actually, no. Right when you managed to make it out of the door, I originally was just going to do the same as I did before and well… leap after you. Even if you got away, I could track you down since your scent is alluring, but definitely not subtle. Fire powers and all,” He said with a smug little chuckle.
“Yeah yeah yeah, I get it. Heat makes smell more noticeable. Gosh, you and Wally sure love harping down that tree.” You retorted with an actual annoyed eye roll this time.
“Hey, I said you still smell good. Either way, when I jumped after you I noticed instead of falling back down to the ground, I was still in the air flying. It didn’t take much for me to realize what was going on and I just flew into action, literally.”
“So the whole welding the door shut and almost barbecuing our friends?”
“Yeah, I might have overdone it on that one, but animal instincts were still in control. There was only so much I could do to hold myself back. Every time you fought against me or got away or the others intervened was another boost to my aggression and anger, prompting my hasty reactions. And it wasn’t just my instincts fueling all this. Like I said, there was a reason your scent stuck out to me the most. Your conversation with Wally just confirmed it was returned and it made me a bit more crazy to an extent.”
“To an extent is a stretch,” You muttered under your breath. Conner let out an annoyed grunt while giving you another playful nip on your ear.
“Super hearing, remember?”
You were fully aware of his ability, but, for his sake, you played along.
“Right, sorry.” He gave a kiss to your neck as a way of saying he accepted the apology. With a little time to process everything, you felt most of your questions answered. However, there was one that was remaining at the back of your mind. Probably the most pressing one to be honest.
“So, is that why you and M’Gann…”
“We broke up because I realized that there wasn’t any real spark between me and her. What started between us was curiosity, considering I didn’t know what romance and feelings and everything else was. I just went with what I saw and observed. Sometimes it was nice, many times it was confusing, and many times, it felt wrong. So, I broke up with her. She was upset about it a little and figured it had something to do with you. She was always suspicious, but never had confirmation until this happened.”
Conner pointed his fingers between the two of you, and the reminder of your earlier indecent actions had you blushing and smiling all over again. You had to admit, it was a nice feeling knowing that most of your doubtful and questioning thoughts were for nothing.
Well, it’s better to be cautious than to fall in blindly and get hurt. But, the satisfaction and happiness you felt in your chest bloomed over all of those past feelings.
Thinking about the day's events and how everything ended up happening, you had to say you were fine with how it all played out. However, you definitely would admit you imagined you and Conner getting together in an entirely different scenario.
Saving each other on a mission, getting into an argument and blurting things out, or even just the cutesy little moments where your friends stick their noses in and try to get you together were all ideas that came to mind. This scenario however with you sitting on the beach after he acted like a caveman and chose you as his new mate was not in the tarot cards for this category.
Though, the end result had you more than satisfied; both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
If there was anything to learn from this, you should listen to your instincts more, no matter how primal they are.
“So, are you going to take this off anytime soon?” You asked, once again pointing at the wrist jewelry you were currently wearing.
Conner smiled down at the item and you mischievously before running one of his hands over the device.
“Are you going to try and fight me again? I kind of like you being defenseless and helpless.” He joked though a part of you knew he was also partly serious.
Though, now, considering all that was said and done, it was your turn to have some fun.
“Well, considering you had to take away my powers to be able to catch me, I’d say your victory wasn’t really much of a victory at all.” You taunted while tracing a finger over his chest.
You could feel the vibration from his irritated growl under your fingertips, letting you know you hit the right button. Caveman or not, Conner both loved and hated being challenged.
“I mean, to me, it says that even with your full Kryptonian powers, you needed some cheap little trinket to be able to actually subdue me. Guess I’m just that tough of a prey to catch.” You continued your teasing, sneakily taking glances up at the Kryptonian, catching his hard and lustful stares at you.
“Is that so?” He gruffly spoke into your ear.
“It would seem so, at least to me, and anyone else watching. Don’t think you can say you claimed me if you couldn’t manage to beat me fair and square. But, it’s okay, I get it. Maybe you’re not up to the challenge. Maybe someone else will come along and prove their merit without needing to cheat.”
You barely finished the sentence before the sound of the clamp opening hit your ears. That familiar rush of warmth came over you again as your fire returned to your body. While you were distracted, Conner ripped the shorts off and his pants off of him before standing you both up, now fully naked to the world, minus your shirt.
“I dare you to say that again.”
You were really in for it now.

Ok if this doesn't sound like an idea you'd be interested in then disregard, i don't want to bother you 🙂 BuT! It's been itching the back of my brain since forced throuple au and creepy-apartment!ghost has compounded it so:
Forced throuple but a sort of android verse with some body snatching horror thrown in for flavor. Reader's husband (Soapy boy) dies suddenly and in their grief a lot of stuff has gone into disrepair, so they mail order an android to help around the house and with crippling loneliness. The company sends Ghost, a refurbished security model now named Simon, and he ends up being pretty helpful despite the silent brooding. Hell, sometimes that even helps as scary dog privilege so you let it slide (big mistake dumby, that android is falling for you in the process of taking care of you ohhh no-).
But maybe Ghosts old security features make him super observant (obsessive) paired with his new "fix it" code make him come to the conclusion that, actually, reader could still use her husband and mail orders a Soap-bot-3000 without letting them know :O. Watch the horror unfold as Reader wakes up one morning to her VERY NOT dead husband in bed and both Ghost and Soap acting like nothing is wrong :)))), maybe some "Simon reverts fo Ghost" too as the story progresses
this is from awhile ago (apologies, anon) and so wickedly weird and cool :)))
androids that are so realistic and bodies so malleable that they almost feel lifelike, like they're flesh and blood. you never wanted to actually give in and purchase one because you have personal qualms with the idea of something so human-looking being programmable and subservient to you; it's just always felt wrong and borderline cruel, and johnny used to concur with you when you spoke about it. that was then though. years and months and weeks before the accident.
now it's midday on a tuesday and you can't even get out of bed. there are two weeks of dishes in the sink and the lawn is overgrown and the feral cats haven't stopped by in days because you haven't had the strength to get up and feed them. your voicemail's been full for days. your sister stopped by and insisted when she saw the state of your house. "at least for a few weeks," she pleaded with you. you can always return it when you're back on your feet. she's already ordered you one from 141 Labs before she's even out the door, making you promise to give it a shot.
when you open the box, you worry that you might've ordered the wrong model. the size of the android they sent you feels out of place, like he's meant for private military companies or as a bodyguard for celebrities. not depressed accountants who can't get out of bed because their husband died two weeks ago. but it's your name on the receipt, your address. so when his blue eyes flare neon when he's first activated and all six feet and four inches of him sit up in the crate (that had to be wheeled in by two delivery men, you recall with a small amount of horror), you wait patiently to introduce yourself.
maybe this one was sent to you because of the defect. he wears a mask because the only layer of skin on his face starts from the bottom of his face down. at first you roll the mask up only to shudder at the exposed wiring and metal where cheekbones should be. you roll it back down.
he comes with a name. Ghost. that's his model, you surmise from the lengthy instruction booklet you're provided. the whole situation feels weird at first; his presence in your house always catches you off guard, even though, you suppose, it's his house now too. you jump whenever you walk into a room and he's just there, silent, so large that you nearly always think Threat first before you recognize him. maybe it's not fully your fault. he makes no effort to signal his presence, moving silently from room to room when he helps carry out the garbage or swifter the living room. sometimes you catch him staring at the photos of you and johnny that still line the top of the fireplace.
you try to be equitable, insisting that he take the guest room as his own. Ghost won't hear of it, following you into your room when night falls; ominous. you have to lock yourself in the en suite to change, heart beating away because you know he's standing just outside the door, like a cat waiting to be let in. shaking hands drag your clothes down. you stare blankly at the door while you shower, fingers twitching when you pass a washcloth over your nipples.
you think there's something wrong with you. you're sick or something. you're sick or something worse because your husband died two weeks ago and the thing in your house isn't even a human and still your stomach clenches when you think of him waiting for you in your room, knowing that you're naked behind the door. it's taboo; it's not something that's done, at least not something that's spoken about. people don't sleep with their androids. recent widows especially should not be thinking about fucking their androids.
two weeks go by. you can't even think about johnny without wincing these days.
"he was your husband."
you look up. Ghost says it like a fact, not a question. you're in the living room sorting through insurance papers while Ghost vacuums under the sofa (he lifts the corner up with just a single hand; you swallow, throat already dry). neon blue eyes zip across your face when you look over at him. you wonder sometimes what he sees there, etched into the plains of your face.
"yeah." your smile is tight, pained. "johnny."
he looks back down to the framed photo in his hand, studying it. you wish you could ask him what he's thinking about, but you worry that would be just another privacy stripped. you can't ask more of him.
"what happened to him?" he finally asks, looking up again.
you feel it catch in your throat. "he, um - he." it doesn't come out. your nose stings before you can even try to get more out. you grimace, shrug instead. you try to smile again, but it's warped, unpleasant to form much less look at. don't ask, it says, whatever you do, please, please don't ask.
"you miss him?"
you blink at him, misty eyed. "ye - of course."
his eyes are so, so blue when he stares across the room at you. it's unnerving to look at; terrifying to find yourself under his scrutinizing gaze. what do androids even think about?
"I understand." he puts the photo back on the bookshelf and walks out of the room.
sometimes you catch him watching you too intensely; rare moments when he doesn't seem entirely mechanical. you wonder if one day you'll roll the mask up and there'll be skin there suddenly, a real flesh and blood person. it feels entirely possible some days. he moves too fluidly, has his own quirks and intricacies that seem newer each day.
you don't try it. the minuscule amount of professional space between the two of you is an absolute. you worry sometimes what you'll let happen if you ever let that distance collapse. already he sleeps motionlessly in the chair beside your bed, refusing his own room. he powers down with his eyes still open, the blue flickering away to a dark grey. it's only mildly reassuring.
when you open your eyes in the middle of the night though, he stares back at you, eyes dark and sightless.
you worry sometimes that you might have made a mistake, letting your sister talk you in to this.
it's the arm tucked around your waist when you're doing the shopping, freezing for a second before the hand on your hip squeezes and he pulls you towards the fruit and veg. it's the menacing stare from over your shoulder when a man approaches you in the checkout lane, offering his condolences (an old colleague of your husband's, he says) and an invitation to dinner. you open your mouth only for Ghost to answer for you.
"No." it thrums out of him, a different modulation. you stare helplessly as the man's face goes white and he makes an excuse to leave, offering you another lame apology.
it's the hand that tugs you out of the store by the back of your shirt, Ghost's voice rumbling like he doesn't know you can hear him. saying something about how you don't need another man in your house. that you had johnny and now you have him.

Authors note: hey hey hey, this took me ages to write. if you have requests please-uh request them
Summary: You work for the FBI, the sworn enemy of the Detroit Police. But one day fate throws you into the path of a very handsome cop, but can you two stand each other? Or do your careers stand in the way?
Word count: 2k
no warnings
enjoyyy
~
CONNOR watched you from afar, holding his lighter steady as Hank breathed his cigar into it. Connor's fingers twitched slightly, an odd humane trait that Connor had noted, he couldn’t stop it, but he doubted he would even stop himself if wanted to.
“Stare all you want Connor,” Hank puffed out thick wafts of smoke. “She won’t come over here.” Hank flicks the end of his cigar against his ashtray, swirling the amber liquid encased in crystal in his other hand. Connor had no idea why you were here, let alone why he was here. He supposed on a surface level it was to spend time with Hank but the nagging feeling of something else tickled his circuits.
It was quite a bold move for you to be here. Little Harry's Speakeasy was the kind of bar that wore its allegiances on its walls. Old photos with bar keepers and policemen, Detroit Police funded events, and even the familiar stale scent of the police favoured cigar smoke clung to every surface. Although tonight, no laughter rose from the corner booths, and all the rough voices and inside jokes, the kind bred in locker rooms and old academy days, weren’t said aloud.
The mood killer? The Federal Bureau of Intelligence. You didn’t belong here, not really. Your kind didn’t drink here. The Bureau had its own places - cleaner, quieter, the places that only served dirty martinis with breadsticks, and nothing stronger.
For Connor had nothing else to do but stare at you from across the bar, or stare at Hank – he preferred the latter. The other pretty young things who'd wandered up, all fluttering lashes and casual brushes against his shoulder, were dismissed quickly. A flat “I’m an android” usually did the trick. For the few who seemed intrigued by the novelty of thirium instead of repulsed by it, he’d offer the fallback: “I don’t go for human girls.”
“Ha!” Hank chuckled, a real belly laugh. He turns back to the game, the suspended holoscreen emanating the familiar green light of a football field. Hank swishes back another shot of bourbon and follows it quickly with another bourbon chaser. “Don't dig humans. Big fuckin’ pile of horse shit.”
Connor watches as you lean back and stretch your hands. The FBI jacket thrown lazily over the back of your chair, marking your territory. The hound dogs you sit next to hoot loudly as they down bottle after bottle. Your composure, though comfortable, is quieter. One hand folded in your lap while the other one grasps a beer. For someone that had just taken down one of the largest red ice supplier rings in detroit, you seemed rather… mild, withdrawn. Your coworkers couldn’t be happier.
“Bunch of thevin’ pencil pushers if you ask me,” Hank says. He takes another big swig of his whiskey and draws a slow breath of smoke. “We do all the hard work then they swoop in and claim they did all the work.” He taps the ash off the end of his cigar, with more force then required. “Fuckin’ feds.”
“Why don’t we go to Jimmy’s?” Connor asks pointedly.
Hank reaches up to his collar and undoes another button. “No.” Hank grabs the whiskey bottle and pours himself another drink. The undone sleeve cuffs drag along the smooth bar surface as Hank medicates himself. Bottle to glass to lips. Repeat. “Would hate to interrupt your ogle fest.”
Connor pauses mid sentence and shifts his body. “I’m not ogling.” He remains quiet for a beat, and flicks his lighter open and shut.
“Then what are ya’ doin? Cause it's getting hard to watch Connor.”
“Just looking? And who says I’m looking at her, it's the whole lot of them. They’re not exactly being quiet.” Just as Connor says this, a drunk Fed climbs up onto the table and starts hip thrusting to the beat of the song that plays over the bar. Another wave of hoots and loud whistling follows this, as they cackle loudly.
“That’s my que.” You say under your breath as you stand, grabbing your jacket and tossing it over your shoulders, and tightening your scarf. You turn to leave when someone grabs your arm firmly.
“What? No! Where are you going?” The firm grasp of your coworker drags you back onto your seat. Her slightly flushed face and glossy eyes shows how much she's had to drink. You turn your gaze upwards to your other coworker who has now started ‘sexy dancing’ to some Brittany Spears song.
“Can’t believe you like that guy,” You half tease half say in disbelief as you pull your hands into your lap. You look at the four empty beer bottles that sit in front of your coworker. “Please tell me you have a ride home, Shirley.”
“Well it was going to be Steve…” Shirley trails off, she glances up at him with teenage yearning in her eyes. “Guess not anymore - oh please stay, celebrate! I barely know these people. What else do you have going on anyway? And don’t say work cause we both know that’s a lie.”
You think for a moment. “I dunno. This whole thing feels wrong, I mean the DPD did most of the work, I just had a couple of lucky connections. This seems like more of their victory than ours.”
“Those street dogs? Puh-lease, they couldn’t tell you a monkey from a zebra. Don’t sell yourself short, and besides it probably doesn’t make you feel any better that they’re over there licking their wounds.”
You glance over to the group of Detroit Police Detectives. Mild mannered, sipping drinks looking mellow while chatting amongst themselves. God you’d rather be over there than dealing with this group of teenagers. One catches your eye, brown haired with doe eyes, seeming to be deep in conversation with his older partener. As if reading your thoughts his head turns and looks you dead in the eye. You drop your head immediately. Oh fuck he probably thought I was staring.
“Shirley I’m gonna go okay? You have fun.” you say, but it falls on deaf ears as Shirley goes back to gazing up at ‘pole-dancer’ Steve.
You weave your way through the crowd, murrmering soft ‘sorrys’ and ‘excuse me’s’, as you push yourself through the drunks. You pull your scarf tighter around your neck in shame as you walk past the group of cops who stare you down. Suddenly your shoes become very interesting.
The older cop who you recognise as the head of the Red-Ice Task Force, mutters a curse under his breath as you pass. You don’t blame him. Next to him sits a disturbingly handsome cop. Ah. You think. So I’m right, he is his partner. He looks at you plainly. I must be known as the ‘case stealer’. The look he gives you could make you shiver, if it weren’t for the stuffy heat of the bar.
You finally make it outside, the cold air freshening your senses after the endless warm air of the bar. You can’t wait to go home and strip off your work clothes. You wave your arm out to the traffic, trying to grab the attention of the robot cabs, then suddenly you feel a tap on your shoulder.
“You dropped this.” The voice is calm and steady.
You turn, only to be met with sharp brown eyes, softened only slightly by the features framing them. It’s the same man who stared you down. He holds out your scarf like an offering, his fingers curled gently around the fabric. Recognition flickers behind his calculated eyes.
“Oh thank you,” You say, as you reach out and grab the scarf that has seemed to make its way into the man's hands. The end of your scarf slips out of his grasp as you messily gather the wool into your arms.
The man looks at you with a twisted expression, almost deciding what to say. He stares at you a fleeting moment longer, almost scanning your features for an answer that lays just out of reach. “You’re with the FBI.”
“Yeah, I am. Special Agent y/l/n.” You introduce yourself. “I saw you at the station the other day. You’re Anderson’s partener aren't you?”
“Yes, I am.” He swivels on his heel and turns towards the bar, making a haste exit.
Wow, am I that bad?
“Wait!” You call out. The man pauses in his stride, a sharp exhale drops his sculpted shoulders as he turns his head, his feet still pointing in the direction of the bar. “I never got your name.” You lamely spurt.
He studies your features for a moment. “You always ask the names of the detectives you steal cases from Agent?”
“What?- uh, I mean, no - and no… I guess?”
He nods curtly, shoving his hands in his suit pockets and making his way again, back into the bar. The glow from the bar catches the sharp angles of his face.
“Look,” You shout over the traffic noise. “I just wanted to say I don’t think it’s right we got the credit for this case.”
This stops the man in his tracks. “... Well you still did, didn’t you?” he says.
You take a step forward, raising your voice just slightly. “That’s not fair - look man, I was just doing my job okay? I didn’t ask for a parade. I just did my job.”
Connor half-turns, face unreadable. “Twelve months, two weeks and three days. That’s how long I worked at it. What's fair now? Special Agent?”
“Stop calling me that.”
“Yes, your highness.”
“I wasn’t trying to step on anyone’s toes, alright?” you say, more defensive than you meant to sound. “I followed the leads I had. I put it together. That’s my job. Sorry I had connections.”
That makes him turn fully, finally facing you head on. “Thank you, for your sympathies, agent.” Sarcasm drips from his voice, but it's calm - too calm, but there’s an edge there now, sharp as the winter wind that cuts between you, freezing the tips of your fingers and ears.
You go to open your mouth but the low hum and sharp brake whir signals the arrival of your cab. Headlights cut through the frost as the car glides to a halt at the curb. You take a breath – inhale, exhale, slow and deliberate. You glance at it, then back at him. “Yeah… you're welcome,” you say dryly, reaching for the door handle, “asshat.” You mutter under your breath, too quiet for him to catch.
“I didn’t know name calling was a hallmark for federal agents.”
You scoff. How the hell did he hear that? One foot already inside the cab. “And I wasn’t aware cops could be such pricks, but here we are.”
He walks forward and leans on the open cab door, arms thrown over the top, stopping you from closing it. He peers down at you. “Great talk, agent.”
“Don’t call me that–”
He slams the car door on your face, drowning out your yelling as the cab zips off. You see him walk back into the bar as your cab whirls you around the street corner.
Little asshole. You think to yourself as the glowing holoscreens of Detroit flick by, a whirl of glowing blues and whites, the city's trademark electric colours painted over its vast landscape. The acrylic dashboard of the driverless car glints faintly, reflecting little beads of light. The tailored man remains in your thoughts. All I did was try to apologise. Can’t do shit nowadays. A bitter feeling settles in the pit of your stomach. What was it? Shame? No it can’t be shameful. Why should it be? You destroyed the largest red-ice ring in Detroit - you should be proud!
Kicking off your shoes you slink onto the couch of your lonely apartment. The cold artificial moonlight seeps through the blinds, spilling onto the floor like a milky fog. The stiff liquor in the top cupboard of your kitchen calls to you - but the lull of heavy eyes pulls you deeper into the couch as you give into the night.
