Introducing Project Prisma: NIJI NO SEKAI!!

It's a fan made project inspired by Project SEKAI that takes place in the same universe. We strayed a little from the original pattern: not counting the Vocaloids, we have created 42 original characters to form five main groups and five side groups. Our goal is to create a fun project and a safe space for everyone.

A little intro for our main groups!

ἁρμονίαι έν τῇ νυκτί (Harmonies in the Night): "to embrace the darkness inside you"; an online group dedicated to showing everyone the depressing side of existence.

Clock Orchestra: "to find solace in the warmth of a friend"; a trio who just wants to have fun and share their music despite their differences.

NeoИxWrath: "to despise today's society"; a group of young actors who all hold something against society.

Up!coming SprinG: "to learn how to follow your dreams"; a slightly out of the ordinary idol group who wants everyone to follow their dreams, no matter how strange or impossible they may seem.

Re-tied Red Ribbon: "to accept yourself"; a group of childhood friends who desperately want to see the beautiful things in life and bring hope to everyone.

Obviously this doesn't say much about the actual depth of the story, as it's just the general themes.

But! For this project to continue, we need lots of people! We need:

I can’t sleep. 5. La Santa Piccola - very different from your usual gay movies, but the scenery is gorgerous and the story made me feel things 4. Badhaai Do - amazing queer representation in Indian Cinema, "gay guy and a lesbian woman enter into holy matrimony to appease their families”... just pure comedy and romance and the friendship is beautiful 3. Fire Island - a classic rom-com, must-see 2. In from the Side - rugby gays, affair, romance... all of that 1. Sublime - since it’s finally available on VoD, I had a chance to watch it this weekend and the soundtrack and story got me... Mi mejor amigo vibes but actually gay

5. Heartstopper - a classic, it was honestly hard to rate the shows because they’re all equally brilliant in my eyes 4. Heartbreak High - australian Sex Education, obsessed 3. The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself - magic, witches, gays... c’mon 2. Prisma - very important show 1. Patrick/Iván in Élite - they’re literally everything to me, if you get it you get it, if you don’t you don’t, if you know you know and if you don’t know I honestly feel bad for you like I literally cannot explain it, I don’t have the vocabulary to sit here and explain like either you get the vibe or you don’t

5. Catalina - a queer man and his two childhood best friends reunite for a weekend camping trip on Catalina Island... could there be sumn more? 4. Too Rough - Nick wakes up next to his boyfriend Charlie and must conceal him from his own homophobic and dysfunctional family... very sad 3. Jean est tombé amoureux - two football players of opposite teams falling in love... mm very good! 2. Swim - two swimmers develop a strong friendship during their weekly sessions, but their relationship is tested outside the pool, when true identities are revealed... this one fawked me up good 1. Hard - Mikey experiences awkwardness and struggles to navigate the uncertainties of his sexuality after his first time with a girl doesn't go as expected, forcing him to confront his feelings of desire for his best friend... this was so much fun to watch

Top 5 Upcoming Gay Movies in 2023

5. The History of Sound - Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor in a gay romance period drama? We’re looking forward to that actually! Anyways, they were supposed to film it this year, but they had busy schedules. Current plan is next year. Also Paul was hanging out with the director last month, so maybe something’s cooking. 4. Glitter & Doom - described as a summer romance musical feature told with the iconic tunes of folk duo Indigo Girls. Film follows a musician who wears charisma as camouflage and a carefree guy about to run away with the circus as they fall in love at first sight. Sounds fun. 3. Nuovo Olimpo - any Ferzan Özpetek fans? Any Manuel from Un professore fans? Well, looks like we won. Period drama set in Italy, following two men who have a chance encounter and then fall deeply in love, and then are torn apart. The film then follows them both over the next decades as they attempt to find each other again. 2. Strangers - yes, another one with Paul Mescal... yes, I’m crazy. And hi Andrew Scott. Directed by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, HBO’s Looking). Word on the street is that their characters will be romantically involved since Mescal's character corresponds to a woman who has a romance with the protagonist (Scott) in the original novel. We will be tuning in. 1. Bonus Track - film set in 2006, follows a small-town boy with dreams of being a gifted musician. When the son of an iconic musical duo enrols at his school, a powerful bond between the boys begins to grow. Based on an original story by Josh O'Connor (yes, him) and Michael Gilbert.

Anyways, that is it. There are a lot of movies that weren’t released THIS year yet, and I’m looking forward to them (Punch, Aristotle and Dante, Spoiler Alert,...). But I would be just repeating myself, so I’m not gonna talk about that.

Parties and balls with all the rulers invited were a rarity and usually were organised by House Blossom - Katherine and her scary 'fail to show up and I'll kill you smile' it is. So, against what he'd much rather do Jimmy put on his hardly comfortably fancy clothes. Seeing Joel made Jimmy feel a bit better about the too-tight legging and full-length, also not-too-loose tunic - with *gasp* sleeves. He hated sleeves the most of all surface-dweller inventions. Why would one limit their range of movement that way, willingly? He could only hope the damn things would not rip off. 

And Lizzie seemed pleased when he finally joined her and Joel by their carriage. She of course looked beautiful in pale pink and the best jewels of the Ocean Empire. Jimmy might have rolled his eyes many times as she and Joel were being gross and in love. It might have or not to do with how quickly he excused them and went his own way once they were in the ballroom.

House Blossom balls were always colourful, fancy and over the top and this one was no different. As expected of the fey, there were flowers floating in the air, ribbons swaying with no wind present in the room and trays of drinks and snacks floating amongst the guests who were not indulging in dancing to the music coming seemingly from nowhere. And of course, most rulers were already there.

King of Rivendell was avoiding the king of the Lost Empire and dragging his younger brother along, glaring at anyone who dared approach. Being a younger sibling Jimmy of a respectable ruler Jimmy kind of hoped one of those days he could maybe talk to him. He was quite pretty. 

Most of the Wither Rose Alliance were there. Jimmy barely avoided being seen by Sausage, Pearl and Gem. The later two were no problem since they would rather resolve the generational conflict between them and the Ocean Alliance, but Sausage was not quite as friendly. Count fWhip was nowhere to be seen. Not that Jimmy expected to see him, he rarely left Grimlands for important political meetings. A casual, all things considered, party like this, meant just to let Katherine show off, would likely not be important enough...

"Introducing the leader of Wither Rose Alliance, count fWhip of Grimlands," heralds call had everyone looking to the main entrance and Jimmy almost dropped the fizzy drink he was holding. 

Since when did fWhip... Jimmy didn't really have a word for it. Even if he saw fWhip only like three times - officially that is - he was still not expecting anything other than fWhip's usual heavy, stained with soot and red powder, singed in spots coat. Dark pants in similar state of cleanliness, heavy stomping boots. Or without his goggles or massive scarf. But here fWhip was in dress shoes and neatly pressed black pants, a dark red shirt and a black vest with frilly red ascot and a black crown of thorns and red gems in his hair. All the rulers were technically required to wear their crowns to these balls.

And as soon as his introduction was done and the crowd looked away fWhip vanished. He couldn't have left this quickly so Jimmy slowly started making his way around the darker and emptier corners of the ballroom, hoping he'd find the vampire. He just hoped neither Joel and Lizzie nor anyone allied or at least friendly to the Ocean Empire would see him with fWhip. He was supposed to hate him and not flirt with him every time no one could hear them. Which wasn't that often, Jimmy didn't have much reason to leave Prisma Palace unless he was accompanying Lizzie on a political trip.

Eventually, he found fWhip, leaning against a wall as far from the dancefloor as he could be, hiding behind a pillar and glaring at anyone who looked his way. "What do you want?" fWhip asked, Jimmy knew the hint of animosity was in case anyone could overhear them. "You look amazing..." Jimmy mumbled, maybe forgetting for a second he was supposed to dislike fWhip.

"Not near the crowd," fWhip scolded him and glanced at the open door to the gardens. They were open to the guests, huge and, most importantly, full of places to hide. "Go to the gardens, find a quiet place, I'll find you in a few," he sighed and slinked away the opposite way.

With little room to argue Jimmy made his way to the gardens, excusing himself from Joel and Pix with needing some fresh air when they tried to drag him into whatever they were talking about. They didn't push so Jimmy was soon outside and trying to not look like he was in any hurry as he looked for a quiet spot. 

He barely settled on a place when, "You're looking quite pretty today too," out of nearby shadows emerged fWhip. A smirk pulled at his lips as Jimmy sputtered in surprise, fixing his vest slightly. 

"I forget you can do that," Jimmy pouted and sat on a bench by a small pond with tiny colourful fey-fish swimming in it. Unlike normal fish, they paid him no mind. "I thought you wouldn't show up," he said while pulling his copper headpiece off.

"Gem would not let me live if I skipped another party," he sighed, joining Jimmy. "I was quite shocked Xornoth brought his brother with him."

Jimmy hummed, for a second lost in light reflecting off the dark metal in fWhip's gorgeous hair. "Lizzie says there's a chance his council is pushing him to marry Scott for an alliance..." he might have skipped the part where she was excited that maybe he'd be willing to marry Scott to Jimmy... But not well enough.

"Come on Jim, we both know she'd rather have a war than ever let me marry you," fWhip sighed, catching the slightest sign of Jimmy's sadness. A cold, dead hand gently cupped Jimmy's cheek just for a second before a braking branch had them jumping away from each other. "Who's there?" fWhip called out as Jimmy tried to not panic too badly. Lizzie would lock him in the tallest of her towers and never let him out. And start a war with fWhip.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to interrupt anything..."

But the bushes, looking absolutely terrified was Scott S. Major. The prince of Rivendell. Staring at the ground and looking like he was about to cry. 

"Just don't tell anyone you saw the two of us together and it's fine," fWhip shrugged but made no move to return to the bench.

"And why are you even in the gardens? I thought your brother was just dragging you everywhere with him," Jimmy asked after Scott nodded. The elven prince was still shaking a lot and looking five seconds from crumbling down and crying. Neither Jimmy nor fWhip was good at dealing with that.

"Maybe kind of hiding from him... and your sister..." Scott admitted and sniffled slightly. "I won't tell them I saw you two together..." he mumbled and fell silent, biting his lips. "I don't think Xor's too excited to let me leave home... I should just go," he sighed and left before either of them could stop him.

"We should go back..." Jimmy mumbled sadly his moment with fWhip was cut short. 

"Just... if you need you can always come to Grimlands, okay? Whatever it is, I can handle anything as long as I know you'll be okay," fWhip sighed, hands cradling Jimmy's face. "I promise, I'll be there if you ever need me, darling."

Jimmy sighed and leaned into fWhip's hands. How can he promise him something like that? Could he just leave Lizzie over something as dumb as a political marriage? "I can't promise I'll just run away but... I'll keep it in mind if I can't ever bear it?"

"That's good enough, I'm just happy to give you an option," fWhip smiled, gave Jimmy a short kiss and vanished, giving Jimmy some space to sort his thoughts before rejoining the party.

And if he was honest, Jimmy was already considering leaving. fWhip at least listened when he spoke...

Immortality

Pairing | Prisma Daerel & Astarion Ancunín (platonic)

Content Warning | Drinking a lot of wine, this is set at the epilogue party, Prisma is emotional and Astarion comforts her for once. Or at least tries to. Talk of death and the cons of immortality.

Word Count | 1.5K

Summary | Prisma realized how she's going to outlive the love of her life. This fact tormenting her at night. Astarion was the only person who could understand and share some words of comfort. (Tried to make this as neutral for whatever love interest route Prisma goes on. So this could be her with Gale or Shadowheart!)

A letter from Withers was surprising for Prisma when it arrived. Mainly for the fact that Withers knew where she was, she’s not sure how he knew, but he has shown he has his own mysterious ways for her not to question. Reading the contents of the letter it seemed to be an invitation to get all together again to celebrate the 6 month anniversary of them defeating the Netherbrain. When she arrived at the location Withers had written down, she smiled when she realized it was their first camp. The exact spot where their journey would begin.

It was lit up with many torches and candles, plus the little fire that was set in the middle where they all usually slept around. Cute little banners hung around making it feel more festive. Music from a bard standing on top of a rock drifted across the whole camp area and settled a nice warmth in Prisma’s chest.

It was nice.

But despite how nice the party Withers had put together was, a cloud still seemed to follow Prisma around. The looming cloud did not leave her alone despite how much she smiled and felt happy to see everyone. She tried to ignore the cloud as best as she could. But slowly it would become too much, the wood-elf could only think of one solution.

Sitting at the long table that was covered in wine and food Withers had provided, Prisma grabbed one of the wine bottles to pour herself some in a goblet. Quietly Prisma nursed the wine by herself as she watched everyone enjoy the party for themselves. Taking this moment to be alone for a few minutes. Unfortunately, for how big their was. Prisma had forgotten how little privacy all of them had.

“I haven seen you look this upset since the Shadow-cursed Lands, darling.”

The wood-elf looked up from pouring herself some more crimson red to see a familiar pair of crimson eyes. White curly hair shining in the moonlight and pale skin reflecting back the many lights Withers had lit. Of course her vampire friend shows up as she opens a bottle of wine to drown her anxiety with.

“Hello, Astarion.” Prisma greets him as she sets down the bottle. “I’m fine.”

“You should know better by now. It’s better to not lie with me.” The high-elf slid into the seat next to her, taking the goblet she had just filled. “We both know you are a terrible liar.”

Prisma hums in agreement, not able to deny it from the history of her terrible lying abilities. Astarion had seen first-hand how bad it always goes for her. She watched the vampire take her wine and drink it, she then took it back when he set it down. She swirled the liquid in the cup. The movement was weirdly comforting at keeping her hands busy.

“C’mon, tell me what’s going on in your head.” Her friend urged her on.

Prisma was quiet for a moment as she contemplated if this subject was worth the time to talk about. If resorting to pushing it down and drowning it with wine to save from bringing everyone down was worth the risk. Everyone was so happy, she didn’t want to ruin it because some thoughts plague her at night. She took a glance at Astarion - who was patiently waiting for his friend to speak up - and realized he may be one of the few people here who would understand. Maybe it would be worth it?

“You can’t make fun of me, okay?”

Astarion feigned offense while exclaiming. “Darling, I would never!”

Prisma’s voice died again as she tried to collect her words together. She was thankful Astarion wasn’t pushing her to speak. Taking the time for her to collect herself to pour himself his own goblet of some wine sitting on the table. Grumbling to himself quietly about Withers not getting any blood for him.

Once he began to take a sip is when she finally spoke up. “There’s a vendor I’ve gotten to know. Her and her wife are an elf and human. The human died last week.”

When she didn’t continue, Astarion pushed with an “and?”

“It’s just… It’s made me realize I’m going to be in the same boat. I’m-” she paused as her throat closed. Drinking some of her wine to hopefully calm her nerves and open her throat. “I-I’m just realizing I’m going to watch everyone here die. And I’m going to end up a-alone.” Tears filled her eyes as she squeaked out the final bit, fighting with her throat to be able to push out the final words. “Watch the love of my life age and die before me.”

Astarion hums, sitting back as he took in her words. “You know there are ways to live longer, right?”

“Yes, I know. But I can’t ask my love to do that. It won’t fix anything, just prolong the inevitable instead. Besides, I’ve seen the corruption that can happen when you stretch out your life unnaturally. I would hate to be the cause of witness of that happen.” Prisma states, running her finger around the rim of her goblet. “Death is a part of keeping everything in balance. I can’t stop death for my own selfish reasons.”

“All druids worry about is the damn balance.” Astarion scoffed, waving off the idea. Prisma just rolled her eyes to her vampire friend, but a genuine smile etched across her face. “I do understand those thoughts. Realizing immortality isn’t that great once you know you’ll watch everyone around you fade away while you… stay the same.”

Prisma realized with a horror that not only was Astarin in the same boat as her, but he was in the worst case. While Prisma’s life was prolonged by her druid powers. His were prolonged from being a vampire. Prisma could die from old age, Astarion couldn’t. How shitty was it of her to talk about this here? To sit here whining about it and remind him of his own fate. What a friend she was.

“I’m so sorry- I didn’t me to-”

“Don’t.” Astarion interrupted her with an exasperated expression, looking a little annoyed at her apologizing. “It’s been 200 years and I’ve long since accepted it. You know what I’ve dealt with for the past 200 years, I’ve come to not focus on those little woes since.”

Prisma swallowed her embarrassment, trying not to cry. She tried to hide her embarrassment by drinking the rest of her wine. The quiet that fell between them felt uncomfortable, maybe only on Prisma’s end as Astarion continued to drink his own wine like nothing big had happened. She really has to stop worrying about offending the vampire next to her so much.

“How do you do it?” She finally asks as she taps her finger against her cup. She turned her gaze to Astarion, tearing her eyes away from Karlach trying to convince Wyll to dance with her. “Handle that pain?”

“Honestly, darling? I’ve just finally gotten to live. The love I have may feel short and that hurts to know that, but the love I feel outweighs the ache. Instead of worrying about some heartache in my future, I focus on remembering this love I’ve finally gotten to feel.” He turned his red eyes to look into her purple ones, a serious tone in them that made Prisma’s stomach churn uneasily. “Is this love worth the heartache?”

“Yes.” It surprised the wood-elf how easily it was to find that answer.

“Then focus on that.”

Prisma nodded, swallowing thickly again at the emotion that tried to bubble up. She really didn’t want to cry right now, this was not the place to do that. Nor did she want any more attention on her either, trying to mask all her emotions by the protection of her goblet. “I didn’t know you had it in you to become a poet, fang boy.”

“I’m still full of surprises.” the vampire grins. “But don’t you dare tell a soul. I have an image to uphold!” He exclaimed, gesturing in a way like he was presenting his image that made Prisma let out a laugh before she could stop herself. Smiling to herself at the offended look on his face.

“I promise. But… Can you promise me something?”

“Depends.”

“...Will you be there? When I am alone?”

Astarion paused and went quiet when the question left her lips. Prisma was ready to take it back when the silence went too long, her heart hammering in her chest uncomfortably before Astarion finally spoke up. “Of course, darling.”

Prisma breathed a little more easily. The air surrounding the two elves settling into one more comfortable and light compared to the dark cloud looming over Prisma earlier. A warmth spreading across her chest was a welcomed change for the wood-elf. The two watched their friends in the silence that had fallen over them. It didn’t feel uncomfortable this time, just easy to sit with each other and not need to say anything else.

i once again am overwhelmed by stupid busywork. Get Me Out

listening: finished the counter/weight prequel eps! feels good to be listening to a friends at the table thing in-time with when they're released, lol. i fully laughed out loud at the heartfelt moment between aria and hymn being interrupted by austin's fucking ice machine. incredible. no notes. "people are gonna go insane about aria in this one" keith you are SO right.

music for the week was the spotify release radar! just gettin some new tunes. i'm thinking of making a playlist that's just the songs that i like from release radar and the at the end of the year i can have a New Of 2024 list, idk. i AM going to try and be more discerning about what things i post, though - it would be very easy to just drop a huge list of all the songs on there that i kinda liked with no commentary but i think it'll be more fun to do fewer songs and actually talk about them, y'know?

philadelphia (matt maltese): feels like a mug of tea. very soft. nostalgic for something i've never seen. travels (rob blivion): really does seem like it should be playing over some indie film montage of someone travelling through mists in the scottish highlands. harsh truths (lemoncello): another indie soundtrack song. i think there's a bass in the background? although in retrospect i think it's a cello. lemoncello. duh. anyways it's very good. burning down the house (paramore): this is SUCH a fun cover. what can't paramore do for real. oh no::he said what? (nothing but thieves): BOUNCY. toe tapper. i am driving down a neon highway at 10000mph. coming home song (sammy rae & the friends): back to wistful and nostalgic. feels a certain kind of way especially right now because i am in the process of finding a new apartment, entirely alone for the first time. jolene (maneskin & dolly parton): speaking of really fun covers, yes yes yes. everything i would have wanted from this.

honorable mention to love me not (emei). i do not like this song particularly. it is stuck in my head though.

watching: just like last week: with the boyf, the newest dungeon meshi, i loved the way they animated the mimic. then some kill la kill. we're up to episode 11 now, almost halfway! also went to a superbowl party sunday. basically what you'd expect. fun socializing though.

playing: only had the one dnd last weekend, the one i run! went well. definitely was kinda sleepy and not as focused as i'd like. sigh.

making: mostly fallow...i cut out some of the border pieces for my handsewing project in a nice matching solid blue during the superbowl but have not attached any of it yet. started idly crocheting a rectangular prism-shaped object to use as a mtg deck case.

drew a little birthday card for my grandma i guess? mostly watercolor pencil, some prisma marker for the background. can't be assed to rotate it the right way, sorry, lol

pottery-wise, i did not take pictures but i have some fun interesting stuff in the works! biiiiig pot for my mom (got a little busted. but i think it'll make it). mug. glazing a bowl using sgraffito to carve out some waves (my roommate accidentally dinged the rim and i'm incorporating that into the design). did not take any pictures last week but i'll get some tomorrow for the next tuesdaypost.

eating: my roommate made a truly enormous focaccia in a 9x13 glass baking dish to cut into super bowl party sandwiches. they were delicious and we are still eating them for lunch basically every day. she also made a marinated beef bulgogi-type object, served over rice with veg and a fried egg and some spaghetti squash...yumb.

misc: i can't even be like "i just have to make it through this week" because i know next week will look literally exactly like this one (homework due wednesdays for one class, fridays (plus ANOTHER assignment alternating wednesdays) for the other). really bad vibes. just gotta make it through this week this semester.

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of November 11th, 2022

Not as busy this week (thankfully) but the amount of REALLY good albums was every bit as many, if not more. I could have easily added Xentrix, Faustus, Crime, Black Hole and Drudkh to that list but I felt the albums that are there in the (roughly) same genre were just marginally better. So let’s talk about a few of those highlights.

Doomocracy-Unorthodox (Doom/Heavy)**

Doom Metal that spends more time in the mid-tempo range than most, and I believe to its benefit. Exceptional vocals and driving riffs makes this the type of Doom Metal I REALLY enjoy.

Vananidr-Beneath The Mold (Melodic Black)**

Black Metal that worms its way into your subconscious and gets you coming back again and again. This one will be a grower rather than a shower for most but when it clicks it will really open up.

Powerwolf-Missa Contorem II (Power)**

Powerwolf does exactly what you expect them to do and one album isn’t vastly better than another. That being said, this one seems to be more solid all the way through. The “catchiness” factor on this album is off the charts.

Firephoenix-Firephoenix (Heavy)**

Completely new band to me that surprised the hell out of me. It has the speed to be considered Power Metal but it has this old school vibe that reminds me more of Traditional Metal. Whatever the case, this album is just a blast from beginning to end.

Fateful Finality-Emperor of the Weak (Thrash)**

Fast and Melodic Thrash Metal that feels like it mixes all the best parts of the German and Bay Area Thrash scenes. This is yet another album that gets better and better the more you listen to it. Your neck will get a workout with this one.

Okay, listen- I enjoy Twice’s music as one does they are bops. But I’m going into this rather blindly, I would say either Sana’s going through one of those too much happening/too much inside my head type of phases rn or not decluttering her mind is just a personality trait and she’s quirky like that which mood. Cause my deck exploded five times while trying to get this reading. Cards everywhere.

Here’s the thing, your girl Sana has divided into two main archetypes when it comes to her personality, and I have to say it is quite a feat to have someone so outlined in their cards, she’s basically composed of swords and cups. This means the two most important things within herself for herself is her mind and her heart. Whether it is by expressing her opinions, taking part in decision-making processes or just good old nurturing her mind while at the same time letting herself feel, building up amazing relationships with the people around her. That’s what makes her Sana.

Now, a bit more into detail, she’s not a fan of confrontations, more likely to just want to start fresh or pretend the thing never happened in the first place (6oS rx) she’s witty, has a clear mindset on things and is most likely to be the type to surprise other people with what she is able to come up with on a daily basis (AoS). Huevember 2019

My first huevember wasn’t fully finished thanks to that dickhole of a boss who told me the reason for my contract end and he was about to retire. I am still pissed when I think back about it. He would hire austic folk yet he didn’t even wanted to learn about it.

So. storytime. On pinterest I saw a cute drawing of cute cats in cups and decided to draw them. I also made mini paintings and paintings of cute cats in mugs. I coloured the cats in with alchohol markers and the back round with paint

In december I made drawings of my advent calander candys, this year I stopped, I wanted to work on my music projects and last week I had my journey stories. I will continue my journey on spotify and here till new years eve

I was cleaning my closet from my desk and I found this old drawing of mine. I was 10 years old when I made this. do you remember the post where I talked how much I loved pokemon. Well you could see that in this drawing.

On that day I went to Goes with my ex and former friend and colleage, we celebrated my birthday there, it was my first birthday party with former friends. We went to the bookshop where I would open my presents, we walked trough the centre and lastly we ate at macdonalds

But I will tell you this. When I was between 8 and 13 my drawings had alot of words and letters and numbers in them. cursive letters, bold letters and numbers. My art style was either, flowers and a sun, furby or pokemon, or a collection of letters and numbers

I think more Sailor Moon fans need to check out other Magical Girl Warrior Anime

Back during the era of Nolan's Batman movies it was in certain places online like IMDB message boards very popular to express the opinion that Robin's existence is inherently bad for Batman.  That Batman should be a loner and throwing in this kid sidekick only dumbs the stories down. I was always agaisnt that mentality, and today most major voices in the internet Western Comic Book Nerd community reject that as really narrow minded and know that your really not much of a Batman fan at all if you completely reject such a large portion of what the Batman mythos are. As someone who remembers all of that while currently being a Millennial Otaku in an era where our current Nostalgia cycle has brought a number of old 90s Anime back into public conciseness.  I feel like the Anime equivalent of that is the prevalence of Sailor Moon fans who wish Tuxedo Mask didn't exist, that position is nearly unanimous among the guests on the Sailor Business podcast. I actually have more sympathy for this position even though it's less supportable (Tuxedo Mask was there from issue one unlike Robin) because my own preferences for female lead Anime and Superhero stories are often similar, I'm a Yuri Fanatic who likes watching Anime where it's possible to pretend men don't even exist in that fictional world.  But when it comes to Sailor Moon my position is Mamoru/Darrien is just as essential as  Lois Lane is to Superman, or Mary Jane to Spiderman, or Iris West to Barry Allen, or Sif to Thor. Now talking about Tuxedo Mask is complicated by how the 90s Anime handled him very differently.  This may shock some people to learn, but there are Sailor Moon Manga purists who hate everything about the 90s Anime.  He's not in High School not Collage in the Manga (and in the Japan the age difference between middle school and high school is smaller then it is here, they are in fact only 2-3 years apart) Mamoru isn't constantly a jerk to her early on, Usagi isn't nearly as childish and Tuxedo Mask actually contributes more. That element also fits the Robin comparison, the rejection of Robin was partly from how for a long time the mainstream public perception of Robin was Burt Ward and Chris O'Donnell.  And indeed I think the best western Comic Book analogy for those Manga purists who hate the Anime are people who still hate the Adam West and Shumacker takes on Batman.  Those of us who have read Robin(s) as written by for example Chuck Dixon or Marv Wolfman know the concept can be taken seriously. However some people don't like Mamoru even in the Manga, or heck some even find him worse in the Manga.  These people simply hate the idea of tuning in to a show about a Superheroine (or "Female Superhero" as the CW's Supergirl pilot kept insisting on saying) where she is also constantly being rescued.  Now most of those "rescues" range from cheer-leading her to adding a little minor assist like female love interests of male superhero get to contribute all the time, and the final climax of the original story-line is her saving him.  But these fans want male love interests to contribute 0% to their Superheroine stories. Thing is that apparent contradiction is not a bug but a feature, it is kind of the entire premise of Sailor Moon.  Film Flux did a video on the Sailor Moon Manga that helped me to clarify this.  Superhero stories are at their core wish fulfillment fantasies, and like it or not many young girls fantasize both about being a Superhero and being a Damsel rescued by a handsome prince (and some young boys have the same fantasies).  While most Mangaka might have written two completely separate stories to express those fantasies Naoko Takeuchi said Frak It and did both simultaneously, she wrote a story where an average Japanese school girl gets to be both Snow White and Wonder Woman at the same time.  The premise of Sailor Moon is foundationally about having your cake and eating it too. Now you don't have to also be into that, my point is that this Prince Charming isn't something that's part of the story because of executive meddling.  (If anything it's having other Girls helping her that was, Takeuchi's original vision was a solo Super-heroine, it was Toei that wanted a team so they could sell more toys.) And so if you fundamentally don't like that, you kind of don't like the premise of Sailor Moon. The reason why in America Sailor Moon is popular with many people who actually share only half of Takeuchi's fantasy is because on mid 90s television she was the only Superheroine we had to choose from at all. Thing is it's now possible for Americans to watch almost any Anime they want to, and the sub-genre Sailor Moon spawned has evolved to provide plenty of shows that can better provide what these Sailor Moon fans actually want.  I think there are plenty of people who might actually like the rest of the genre more but have still only seen Sailor Moon because they've never searched for Anime beyond what airs on Toonami, or because they're assuming them to be Sailor Moon knock offs with no actual creativity.  But the truth is even the ones most similar to Sailor Moon are still just as distinct as Green Arrow is from Batman. All or at least most Pretty Cure shows have no Tuxedo Mask analogue, a few have Het love interests who are civilians, like Peter Parker crushing on Liz Allan or Mary Jane in the Raimi films, but most don't even have that.  Madoka Magica and Yuki Yuna Is A Hero and Symphogear provide no Het romance for the main character at all.  Pretty Sammy and Nanoha also work, and Prisma Illya is....... not a good one to start with. Corrector Yui doesn't seem to have a Tuxedo Mask figure from what I've seen so far, on Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne there is one kinda but he's a rival thief.  On Saint Tail the love interest is the guy trying to catch her, so it's like Batman and Catwoman but if Catwoman was stealing things because God wanted her to do it???? I'm still not sure what show's premise actually is.  In Galaxy Fraulein Yuna there is a Tuxedo Mask but she's a woman, so those of you who enjoy having your sexuality confused by Takerazuka style Mamoru in the new Musicals might enjoy that. Even Wedding Peach is distinct on this issue since the person who could be called the Tuxedo Mask of the show is not the title character's love interest. So I'm hoping once these Sailor Moon fans can get their no Tuxedo Mask Magical Girl fix elsewhere they can be open to appreciating Mamoru once they seem him portrayed correctly on Crystal( just make sure you're watching the BluRay rips) or even the Live Action show PGSM.  I also still recommend that Sailor Moon Fan Film from 2016.

It’s the second annual La Huerta River Race event and Quinn, the first place winner last year is speaking at the stage, alongside Meg, last year’s second place winner. Jake and Taylor spot their daughter, Kaitlyn, and the other kids.

Taylor: Hey, look who it is!

Jake: Li’l marshmallow!

The family run into each other, exchanging loving embraces. The others walk towards them with smiles.

Blight: Lookin’ slick, Flyboy.

Jake looks up and grins at Blight’s compliment.

Jake: Could say the same for you, Goggles.

The two men approach each other and high five. Jake whispers to Blight’s ear.

Jake: So, how is he?

Blight: He’s doing great. Just a few more getting used to his prosthetic limbs and--

Taylor: What are you guys whispering about?

Jake and Blight suddenly jump and look at Taylor with a nervous grin.

Jake: Nothing!

Blight: Yeah! We were just... talking about... umm...

Jake: Psyducks!

Blight: That’s right, Psyducks!

The two men quickly laugh to cut the tension and suspicion. 

Everyone looks at them with unamused looks. Taylor lightly smacks Jake’s head.

Taylor: Geez, even without Tyler here, you always have someone to joke around with.

Jake: Ow!

Meanwhile, Vishakha and Elesis mock Blight.

Elesis: I rarely see you like this, Blight.

Vishakha: You’re so lame, Jester.

Blight: Hey!

After a few laughs and reconnecting, everyone walks to the crowd. Suddenly, a woman calls out to Mika.

Woman: Mika, my dear!

Mika turns to see her mother, holding a Pokémon egg.

Mika: Mom!

Mika rushes to hug her mother while Kaitlyn follows behind her. 

Kaitlyn: Hello, Mrs. Dinh.

Mika’s Mother: Hello, Kaitlyn.

After they pull apart, Mika’s mother hands her daughter the Pokémon egg.

Mika’s Mother: Here you go, dear. Make sure you take care of it like it’s your own child.

Mika: Thanks, Mom.

The two share an embrace again and Mika’s mother plants a kiss on the girl’s forehead. They exchange “I love you’s” and “goodbyes” before parting ways. Kaitlyn's family approach Mika.

Kaitlyn: Soo, whatchu got there, Mika?

Mika: Oh, it’s a Pokémon egg.

Jake: I think Mikadzuki’s got a Togepi egg there.

(Note: Jake calls Mika, “Mikadzuki” because it is the Japanese word for “Crescent Moon”. Mika wears a crescent moon choker and she has a strand of hair that’s shaped like a crescent moon.)

Taylor: Oh, so you’re planning on using a Togepi evolution line for the Grand Festival.

Mika: Mhm!

Kaitlyn: That’s awesome!

After the four share smiles, they reunite with the others and listen to the rules of the River Race event.

Quinn: Now, the rules of the race are simple; reach the finish line first before your opponents do. The finish line is located at the riverside of Mansingh Town.

Taari: Oh! That’s where our next gym battle is!

Reginald: Then I guess we should participate in this race. Not only is it fun, but it’s also a way for us to reach my mother’s town fast.

Kaitlyn: Yep!

Meg continues the explanation of the rules.

Meg: However, you must NOT knock your opponent out of their surfboards. Only the obstacles are allowed to do that. Speaking of which, the race’s obstacles include, rock formations, small and harmless whirpools, and Carvanhas that only get hostile if you get too close.

Taari: Welp... shi--

Reginald: Language.

Quinn: The first three to reach the finish line will each receive a Pokémon egg.

Kaitlyn: Sweet!

Quinn: First place winner gets a Dratini Egg. Second place winner gets a Chikorita Egg. And Third place winner gets a Tynamo Egg.

Meg: Alright, racers. Please decide on which Pokémon to use and sign up on that booth over there.

Those who are interested in joining the race make their way to the sign up booth. Taari, Reginald, Kaitlyn and Mika do the same. Vishakha, Elesis and Meg are at the stage, exchanging hugs.

Meg: Miss ya, Sistas!

Elesis: Miss ya too!

Vishakha: Yeet!

Meanwhile, Taylor and the other adults gather around to discuss something important.

Taylor: So, Blight... Jake says that you’ve been helping him find my brother, Tyler?

Blight: That’s right. According to my scans so far, he’s been last seen up in the mountains, near Prisma City.

Jake: That’s where Michelle lives.

Quinn: What do you think has he been doing these past months?

Blight: I don’t know but based on his the places he’s been going to... I think he’s...

Taylor: He’s what?

Blight: ...Looking for Vaanu’s other fragments, Palkia and Dialga.

There is a sudden silence between the group. Quinn clutches her chest after hearing what her husband has been doing ever since she lost him.

Quinn: ....Tyler....

Jake: So, Boy Scout’s been looking for answers to the questions we’ve been asking since he and Princess got back her five years ago?

Blight: I guess so...

Taylor scoffs.

Taylor: Well, that still doesn’t excuse him from leaving us! He should’ve told us about his plan. We could’ve covered more ground together! Instead, he did it alone because he’s so hung up on the loss of--

Taylor notices Quinn starting to break into tears.

Taylor: Oh no, Quinn. I’m sorry. I... didn’t mean to...

Taylor gives Quinn a gentle hug while Blight looks at Jake.

Blight: Loss?

Jake: Yup...

Jake clears his throat.

Jake: You see, Goggles... seven and a half months ago... Tyler and Quinn lost their son, Brandon Kelly.

A weight is pulled in Blight’s heart as he hears the sad news. He is also struck by the idea that he might lose his niece, his daughter-figure, Vishakha. He quickly turns to Quinn.

Blight: Quinn, I... I’m sorry...

Quinn shakes her head and wipes her tears.

Quinn: It’s... okay, guys... Just...

She looks at Blight.

Quinn: Promise me that you’ll find him...

Blight gives a reluctant look before nodding.

Blight: I will. I promise.

Jake shared the same expression Blight has.

Soon after, the tension is cut by the kids and the Aryndelle sisters approaching the adults.

Meg: Yo! Everything’s all set and everyone is signed up.

Jake gets between the adults and the kids to hide Quinn’s sadness.

Jake: Nice! Now, let’s get this show on the road, Megatron!

Meg: “Megatron”?

Jake: What?! It’s the best I can come up with your name!

Meg and the kids chuckle while Jake groans and leads them to the Grand La Huerta River. Blight and Taylor lead a slowly recovering Quinn to the stage as they watch the racers get ready. Taari, Reginald, Kaitlyn, Mika and the other racers change into their swimwear and call out their ride partners.

Kaitlyn: I’m counting on you, Empoleon!

Reginald: Come out, Croconaw!

Taari: Let’s go, Wartortle!

Mika: I choose you, Blastoise!

The three kids look at Mika’s Blastoise.

Mika: ....What?

Taari: Cool! Your Wartortle evolved! I can’t wait for mine to evolve too!

Reginald: I guess the girls have the evolutionary advantage here.

Kaitlyn: Yeet!

Jake stands on the stage and announces the beginning of the race.

Jake: Alright, racers. Get ready!!

The racers properly leash their Pokémon and mount their surfboards.

Jake: On your mark!... Get set!...

The kids squint their eyes while their Pokémon prepare themselves.

Jake: SURF’S UP!!

All the racers’s Pokémon dash past the starting line as they surf on the river. At the start of the race, Mika and Kaitlyn are competing in first place, while Taari and Reginald are right behind them.

Kaitlyn: Heh! Just like contest, eh?

Mika: You know it!

Taari: We need to catch up, Reggie!

Reginald: Agreed!

Taari and Reginald grin as they give their commands to their partners.

Taari: Use Aqua Jet!

Reginald: Use Aqua Jet!

Wartortle hides inside his shell and fires jets of water behind him from out of his shell holes to give Taari a boost. Croconaw surround himself with water as he does the same for Reginald. The two then pass Kaitlyn and Mika, accidentally splashing them with water.

Kailtyn: Hey!

Mika: Rude!

The boys snicker and high five. 

Kaitlyn: Empoleon, use Bubble Beam!

Mika: Use Water Gun, Blastoise!

Empoleon fires a barrage bullet-like bubbles towards Taari while Blastoise fires a stream of water towards Reginald. The boys end up getting splashed with water but they remain on their boards.

Taari: Hey! No hitting the racers!

Reginald: Yeah! That’s against the rules!

Kaitlyn: It said that there’s no KNOCKING OUT!

Mika: Yeah! You started it!

The kids’ aggressive playstyle backfires as surrounding Carvanhas are agitated by their actions. The Savage Pokémon jump up from the river and ambush their agitators.

Taari: AAAHH!!

Kaitlyn: AAAHH!!

Reginald: AAAHH!!

Mika: AAAHH!!

The other slow-and-steady racers pass the kids.

Kaitlyn: Damn it! We gotta take back our lead.

Taari: Yeah!

Reginald: Truce for now?!

Mika: Yep!

The four compose themselves and work together to catch up to the other racers. Meanwhile, on the stage, Blight, Vishakha and Elesis say their goodbyes to the others.

Elesis: Right, we should probably head to Prisma City to prepare the Masquerade Ball.

Vishakha: Yep. Take care, Sis!

Meg: You too, Sista!

Blight looks at Jake, Taylor and Quinn.

Blight: You take care too, you guys.

Jake: No prob, Goggles.

They all exchange hugs before parting ways. Jake, Taylor, Quinn and Meg focus on the river race while Blight, Vishakha and Elesis make their way to Prisma City.

A few minutes pass and Blight looks up and sees a familiar object.

Blight: Hey, isn’t that..?

His two nieces follow his gaze.

Vishakha: The orange and blue comet!

Elesis: What is that supposed to be anyway?

Blight: I dunno, but... I think this is the first time it’s passing by Earth since it’s never been seen before until now.

The three shrug off the comet and continue on their way. Meanwhile back at the river race, a loud boom is suddenly heard.

Jake: What was that?!

Two large figures pass by the stage. Jake and the others recognize them.

Taylor: Is that...?!

Jake: No way!

Quinn: It’s.... Tyler!

Meg: And Palkia?!

The three spot Tyler flying over the river, on his Charizard, while chasing Palkia.

Tyler and Palkia eventually fly over the racers. The kids notice them.

Taari: Woah! Is that...?!

Kaitlyn: Uncle Tyler?!

Reginald: And the legendary Palkia?!

Mika: What’s going on?!

Due to Palkia’s presence and it being cornered by Tyler, spacial disturbances start to appear around the area.

Dangerous waves start to form on the river and the whirlpools start to get bigger.

Racer 1: Oh no!

Racer 2: Everyone get clear!

But it’s not yet over. Dark purple eyes start to gleam from beneath the river.

Reginald: The Carvanhas! Don’t tell me...

Taari: They’re being corrupted!

Kaitlyn: Hell no! I don’t want this to end up like It Lives Beneath!

Mika: Too late for that!

Taylor, Jake, Quinn and Meg take notice of the situation.

Quinn: The racers! 

Meg: They’re in danger!

Jake: We gotta go help them.

Taylor: Come on!

The four rush towards the endangered racers. Meanwhile, Tyler is still chasing Palkia.

Tyler: Charizard, use Fire Blast!

Charizard attempts to breathe a  大-shaped flame towards Palkia. But before he could do it, another Fire Blast is fired towards them. Tyler and Charizard notices this and avoid it just in time.

Tyler: What the?!

Suddenly, two silhouettes leap from the forest. It’s revealed to be the Flame Vigilante and his Mega Blaziken.

Flame Vigilante: I found you, Tyler! YOU BASTARD!!

Tyler: Tch! You again!

Palkia turns to the two trainers with its eyes gleaming. It’s prepared to fight this time. Tyler and the Flame Vigilante prepare for a three-way battle.

The River Race was going great but suddenly the once-missing Tyler appears, along with Palkia. Then he clashes against it and the Flame Vigilante. But the racers are also in danger! What will be the outcome of the battle and the race? FIND OUT IN THE NEXT CHAPTER OF POKÉMON AUTUMN VERSION: RISE FROM FALL!
