For the drabble game: 19 - and (because I'm greedy) 14 as a bonus if you feel like it
For 19 - So Help Me Todd (at - and I am always very proud when I manage it - exactly 100!)
“Tell me where you are, I’ll come get you.”
Todd looked around, his teeth chattering and his hands shaking, his breath visible in the dim light of the moon.
It was rocky coastline as far as he could see in either direction, thick pines and open ocean.
“A b-beach.”
“You’re at the beach?” Margaret protested, but someone shushed her before Allison asked, “Do you know which beach?”
A cold and dark and lonely one. “N-no. No lighthouse. No lights.”
“How much battery do you have?”
The phone beeped in his ear. “Not enough.”
“We’ll find you. Okay? We’ll find you.”
And for 14 - Hudson & Rex (because it's been a while)
"I won't hurt you."
Charlie might’ve believed that if the man wasn’t wielding a syringe, and he hadn’t been strapped to the bed in five point restraints.
“I just can’t have you interfering. You understand? This way is better for everyone. No one gets hurt.”
“Little late for that, don’t you think?” Charlie yanked on the wrist restraints for emphasis.
“You won’t remember this, detective. And you won’t remember me. It’ll be like a dream.”
Charlie still flinched away as the needle sunk into his upper arm, the burn unpleasantly familiar.
“Just like a dream, detective. Just go to sleep.”

A Preliminary Look on Powers
Zhongli is capable of affecting much of the earth, rock, and metals that exist on any manner of solid ground. It is a reason he is so out of his element in water, since his very nature is tied to the composition of the earth, for everything in the earth is laced with geo energy. Being an entity of geo, his power isn’t exclusive to pillars and shields summoned and brought forth from the earth. He did not require a gnosis to shape the land of Teyvat and cast Osial to the deep, and he does not need it now, even if his ‘mortal’ form may somewhat limit the extent to which he may pour out power without either needing to shift forms or suffer fatigue.
When he says he may tear the world down on the heads of any that threaten when he cares for, it is not an idle threat. Walls, ceilings, structures yield to his power; caves become tombs; mountains became spears. The Heavenly Principles may have done their best to erode him through the centuries, but he is, at his truest manifestation, a dragon of geo and he cannot be tamed.
1. Known Powers: Rain of Stone, Dominus Lapidis, Planet Befall.
Ran of Stone - Summoned stone spears he can cast out from himself.
Dominus Lapidis - An ability well-remembered in tales; a jade shield crafted of geo essence, metals, and rock. He is capable of shielding far more than just himself, though maintaining a large shield, including compensating for impact against it, can be a drain on his power.
Planet Befall - A summoned meteor from the heavens. He brings it forth likes a throwing stone. When not in a mortal form, he is capable of bringing forth multiple meteors of far greater size.
2. Lesser Known Powers: Shapeshifting, Levitation, Healing and/or Bone Manipulation, Geo Constructs, Forging
Shapeshifting - Rex Incognito is more than a fairytale, and he is capable of shifting into many forms. He retains his eyes and his markings in all forms. His true form is that of a large dragon. His hybrid form is the most natural to him while human in structure - in a hybrid form, he has horns, a tail, long-nails and fangs, and flecks of scales on his skin.
Levitation - Using the natural resonance from the geo power in the earth, he can levitate over the earth as seen in his story quest when he forged Azhdaha. He is not capable of levitation over large bodies of water.
Healing/Bone Manipulation - Using the geo energies present in the bones of all living beings, he can fuse bones back together. In the same vein, he is capable of manipulation the skeletal structure of his enemies and crush them, from the inside out.
Geo Constructs - A Stele is his most commonly summoned structure, but from the earth he can fuse and craft many structures, ranging from pillars, to hands large enough to hold himself and others. It was with those power that he leveled and lifted mountains and pushed back the oceans.
Forging - He is adept at forging weapons from geo energy and stone. Spears/polearms are his weapon of choice, but he is capable of wielding swords and broadswords, and has forged all of them.

whispers of old #3
Gingerly, he holds out a finger, running it down the current item of interest: a replica of Morax’s Statue of the Seven. Venti whistles, impressed at the level of detail put into it, which explains the asking price. He touches his own torso: this form doesn’t really allow for such defined muscles. Something to consider for another time.
Has Morax ever thought it strange to see his people sell memorabilia of himself? This hadn’t caught on in Mondstadt. Besides the one in the church courtyard and his own statues, he hasn’t appeared to have left a solid impression on any enterprising craftsman for an exceptionally popular interpretation of himself to be marketed. Or maybe his people just don’t feel the need for it: he’s always in the wind, after all.
He snickers at the thought of Morax’s eyes always boring into you, ensuring you kept to your contracts. That’s a fair deterrent. On one hand, you had these delicately sculpted figures, on the other… he squeezes a wonderfully soft stuffed Exuvia with all his might. Not as warm as the real thing, but just as pliable. It’s even got the little horns and long whiskers and stubby little claws. The little beady eyes almost make Venti tear up at how spot on the Dense look is recreated here. The temptation is real.
A visitor from Mondstadt leaves the shop many mora lighter.
He casually slings the stuffed Exuvia’s tail around his shoulder, giddily holding onto the toy. At his current height, the tail can touch his knee, truly a wonderful item. Zhongli’s doing his consultant work with the funeral parlour, so Venti goes to hang out at Wanmin. It’s a little dangerous considering Xiangling’s… experiments , but (almost?) free food is free food. Just don’t think too hard about what ingredients she puts in and enjoy the taste. She’s a good kid, and gives the Exuvia a pat, all the while chattering about the ideas she gets from adventuring with them.
Ever energetic, she swoops around the place serving dishes and stopping for breath at his seat when she can. Even if he has… disagreements , shall we say, with the Pyro Archon, the people who wield the Visions aren’t all that bad.
Venti would hang around more out of curiosity, but with Xiangling around, Wanmin gets even more crowded than usual. He vacates his seat in time, and wanders around with Morax (?) cuddled in his arms. He buries his face in the sewn-on scales of the toy, giggles breaking out of him. Morax of old would probably never deign to let him carry him around like this, looking all docile and harmless. The real one had always been a certain level of intimidating especially to a little wind sprite like himself, until he got to a few drinking sessions with the fellow Archon. Oh, maybe he should sew a little friend to go with it? He’s never too old to learn new things, though handicrafts is likely going to take much longer. He thinks about his attempts to bake a cake: something to revisit?
He notices the kite shop, smiling kindly at the old lady who offers him one. “Why don’t you bring home one as a souvenir?”
“It’s okay, grandma, I have this!” Venti holds out the Exuvia toy with pride. While yes you can assume he’s terribly broke often, he does still earn mora from performances. He can pay for himself, sometimes. The elderly lady laughs in response, shaking her head.
“May Rex Lapis smile on you, even though he’s gone. Truly I have lived a long life,” she looks out to the ocean wistfully. He wonders if his blessings work here, as he waves goodbye. He’s not that far from the parlour, though he’s not sure when Zhongli is supposed to be back. Being left to his own devices is boring, and he’s gotten used to the company.
So he waits at the bridge, watching the ships sail in and out, and the dock workers putting in the backbreaking work. A new generation will not see Rex Lapis for themselves, but nonetheless they will be supported by all his hopes and wishes. Looking at the port now, it’s hard to believe it wasn’t that long ago an ancient god rose from the depths, once again threatening to lay waste to everything before it. He wonders if Ningguang has already begun the foundations to rebuild her beloved palace? He’s heard so much about her; she might as well be the de-facto Geo Archon in Morax’s place.
“Bar- Venti?”
Zhongli looks surprised to see him. “Where’s Aether?”
“You thoughtlessly told Childe he should pick the fights with him, remember?” he sighs.
His eyebrows furrow. “I’m not sure if I put it like that…”
“That was basically it, block-head. How was work?”
Venti’s ears burn from the extensive list of items he’d sought out for the perfect ceremony. You know what, he’s never going to ask again or he’ll ascend from the staggering bills. He buries his head in the stuffed Exuvia again, this time out of despair. Is he really going to be the one to be responsible here? Celestia help him.
“What’s that?”
“Oh, this? It’s you, but cuter,” he holds out the toy for inspection.
“Huh,” is all he says. Imagine seeing your apparent bloodthirsty, brutal, regal self reduced to this. Venti himself loves it, of course.
“I want to sew something extra to keep him company,” he holds his hand up as Zhongli opens his mouth. “You’re going to suggest something way beyond our budget so keep quiet.”
He deflates some, but takes the hit like a champ. Even if he doesn’t think about it in the moment, he’s at least a little aware about his ridiculous spending habits. “Hold him for me, I kept him warm.”
Fondness threatens to overcome Venti as the toy and Zhongli share equally dumbfounded looks. Offering that first drink might be the best decision he’s ever made in his long life. Now that they’ve ended up adventuring on the same party, they might as well make up for all that lost time, right?
Ah, even after all this time and all the songs he’d sung about love, he’s barely touched the surface when it comes to his own feelings. Stupid Morax, dumb Barbatos, truly a match made in Celestia.
“Come on, let’s go order stuff for Aether. He’s gonna come back hungry. We’ll make the Fatui boy pay too!” he grins, holding onto Zhongli’s hand. “Plus, Xiangling’s here!”
Dinner is a loud, noisy affair, as their other Liyue friends join in the ruckus. It doesn’t escape Venti’s notice that Zhongli keeps the stuffed Exuvia close to his chest. Well, they’ll keep the little guy company while he tries to make a friend for it.
A little wind sprite will do, won’t it?

What are the favorite Dream Eaters of the Keyblade Wielders?
Hmmm, I don't know about favorites...but I have paired the Keyblade Wielders with Dream Eaters that I think they would like and fit the playstyles I've imagined/pieced together for them.
Riku and Sora, of course, start with Komory Bat and Meow Wow. I'm not touching that perfection.
Here are the others, with some explanation (I have excluded the Foretellers on purpose, I don't know enough about them in canon to guess):
Kairi- Tama Sheep. They’re also a beginning Spirit, like Komory Bat and Meow Wow to match that theme. Also, use Light and Physical like Kairi. Strong Sleep powers that seriously steal your time away (like a year of one girl’s life, maybe?)
Ventus- Pegaslick. Light focused Spirits. Also has wings that remind me of Ventus’ Wingblades. Airborne buddies!
Aqua- Iceguin Ace. These babies freeze me up like no other, perfect assholes. Fits well with Aqua’s Blizzard magic and dance-like fighting style. Plus, Happy Feet. Penguins dance.
Terra- Drill Sye. Hate these bastards, they hit hard and dig holes to get away from you. Terra also hits hard and uses Earth magic. Both Strong and Beef.
Eraqus- Cera Terror. Reminds me of Terra, much like Cera Terror reminds me of Drill Sye. Strong Light and Physical focus, like Eraqus’ fight.
Lauriam- Woeflower. Flowers like Marluxia. Also, works by debuffing and poisoning to match up with Marluxia’s style of using Doom magic debuffs in canon.
Strelitzia- Wheeflower. Flowers again. Buffs and heals, a perfect match to help with Lauriam’s Woeflower. Meant for a future team-up that never got to happen.
Elrena- Electricorn. I keep getting run over by these things like how Larxene kept running me over in Chain of Memories. Electric and spikey, like Larxene’s knives.
Skuld- Staggerceps. See, I don’t actually have a lot of thoughts on how Skuld would fight (outside of my Starpoints AU which is inherently VERY different from canon anyway, on purpose). So I thought I would give her a bug, a sturdy bug that can back her up as all her friends leave her. I considered giving her a Ghostablocky, to symbolize how she’s seemingly vanished from the narrative but that might be too mean.
Ephemer- Cyber Yog. Is a goat, like how Ephemer is The Goat. Comes from a Noble Fantasy much like how Ephemer is a NOBLE in of himself for founding Scala. Shoots lasers from its horns. Much like how Ephemer shot a laser through Player’s heart.
Brain- Halbird. Brain just has strong BIRD vibes to me, okay? Light focused like the Keyblade Brain wields, big enough to ride to see what the world looks like from above (to see what lies ahead, like in a certain book).
Roxas- Ryu Dragon. Roxas has always has strong dragon connections in my mind, due to fighting Xion’s monster form which looks like a knight. Also, uses Fire magic, my boy Roxas loves fire magic (like his friend Axel).
Axel/Lea- Tatsu Blaze. Color like Lea’s hair and uses FIRE. Yes, perfect.
Xion- Fishbone. This Dream Eater constantly falls apart...like a certain person. Strong Water powers like XIon’s connection w/ sea shells and the ocean. Balances out her buddies’ Fire focused Spirits (also easily vanished away due to that. Who would believe that a Water Powerhouse would be friends with two Fire Powerhouses? :( )
Extras:
Xehanort- Skelterwild. Focuses on Blizzard magic much like we’ve see Xehanort himself do in his cutscenes. Also, has the form of a T-Rex which could prey on a a certain triceratops shaped Spirit...like Eraqus’ Cera Terror.
Vanitas- as himself, but if I haaad to....Toximander. Let him poison everyone, have a Spirit so completely different from Ventus’.

Also here's a dump of other sketches with my thoughts process. Long post, so everything’s under the cut.
The Mythra:
I really liked my first idea so I stuck with it. My thought process was I wanted to emphasize that she's mecha anime and therefore out of place (she already has a mech). Pants are a reference to Alvis's illegal shoes. She’s wearing a crop top because Mythra reads as the type of person who would enjoy wearing a crop top to me. She has giant gauntlet things on her arms because they look cool. I gave her two giant braids because anime (and I’ve noticed a trend of tsundere characters often having two strands of hair going outwards for some reason? And I figured “might as well copy+pasta lol). Her left eye is partially covered by hair, which is supposed to represent her feeling distant or partially isolated from the rest of the world. It’s also a character design trend sometimes used in villain characters, which I thought would fit Mythra since she’s worried about her power being used for evil in 2 and is being constantly compared to Malos in Torna. I kept the choker from the base design because it looks cool and also relates to how she’s constantly constraining herself.
I also wanted to make her buff because she’s a warrior who wields a giant fucking sword, she should be buff (like, the fight scenes involving her in Torna DLC looked a bit awkward because Mythra was swinging a giant sword around one-handed like it was nothing while also having very shrimpy arms).
Overall, I wanted Mythra to feel very alien and distant to the rest of the world. If I were to continue iterating on this, I’d probably look at some of Elma’s armor (mim and alien) for reference because doing that would allow for Mythra to look disconnected from the Xenoblade 2 cast but still feel like a Xenoblade character.
Side note: I assumed that the Aegis shape Core Crystal was a requirement. If I had the option to remove it, I probably would. It doesn’t look bad, but if the goal was to connect the Aegises with the Monado, I don’t like that Alvis’s key had to be retconned for that to function.
The Pyras:
A consistent theme here between the designs was the pants. I wanted Alvis's illegal pants to be a running theme among the Aegises because they are stupid and illegal and I like them. They also look like the most vaguely scifi part of his actual outfit, so I figured giving them a shared article of clothing would be a nice way to visually connect the five character designs (Pyra, Mythra, Pneuma, Alvis, and Malos), and I wanted to keep the vaguely mecha theme going. You can see in Pyra 6 that I was tired and just drew Pyra in Alvis's attire.
I wanted Pyra to look like a mecha design covered up by something that more closely fits the aesthetic used in Xenoblade 1. So not quite mecha, not quite 1. The idea was that Pyra was trying to look more like a common person in order to appear less threatening. If she despises and fears her power, I don’t think she’d want to wear an outfit that embraces it. Putting her in more casual clothing would also contrast with Mythra and better communicate that Mythra is significantly stronger than Pyra. But all that said, putting her in full casual clothing might undercut the emotion Rex and Pyra’s first meeting was meant to invoke (of being like “oh wow, a legendary ancient weapon). And designing her to still look mecha would still be saying that “even though Pyra doesn’t want to be the Aegis, she is still the Aegis and cannot escape her power.” Which is why quite a few designs lean into the mecha aesthetic. The exact balance between mecha and casual clothing was the main thing I struggled with on this design. The final design is the one that more or less struck the balance I was hoping for.
A few of the designs are vaguely sexualized. Specifically Pyras 1, 4, and 7 all have tiny boob windows. If I were to finalize 7, I’d remove the boob window because it looks a bit awkward and I think a belt (similar to Elma’s underboob belt) would look better, but my thought process there was “do I want Pyra to be comfortable?” I don’t want to go over the top with the revealing clothing, but making Pyra wear slightly revealing clothing that she probably wouldn’t want to be wearing could help drive the point that she’s a combination of all the traits Mythra was criticized for lacking. It’s not pleasant or comfortable letting others dictate your entire existence through repeated harassment and Pyra already very heavily acts like the sexist ideas of what a woman should be, so giving her a tiny boob window could help emphasize that point. The main reason I’m saying I’d change it if I iterated on 7 is because I don’t think it compliments the design particularly well.
Another thing that stuck between each version of Pyra’s design was that her left eye is completely covered by hair. I did this for a few reasons: it would follow up on the symbolism of Mythra’s design partially covering her left eye, it would give Pyra a slight air of mystery, and it would faintly reference Alvis’s design (I want the designs to hint at each other but I don’t want it to be super obvious). The earrings were also kept between designs because they were in Mythra’s design and I wanted that to get carried over because it’s a little bit extra cohesion between the two designs.
I wanted was to use Pyra's hair to help represented Mythra binding herself. Mythra has two braids that are loosely flowing, so she's already semi bound. If I were to start drawing Pneuma, I think I'd want her hair to not be tied at all (maybe a similar style to KOS-MOS and Elly as a reference, maybe not?) or I'd just put her in really long dreadlocks or something because hair go brr. One idea I had was to just have one big braided ponytail, but another idea was to try and tie the hair up (which is what I was going for in Pyra 2). I couldn't find a way to do that in a way I particularly liked, so single big ponytail is the way I went.
You can probably see that there were a lot of ideas thrown at a wall here, so I’ll go over some noteworthy facets of each designs.
Pyra 1 had a key on her chest, it was meant to be reference to Alvis. It didn’t stay in other designs because the reference felt too obvious. The first two designs also had a giant X on her chest, it was meant to look like the outfit was binding her, but I don’t particularly care for it. Pyra 2′s pants had weird patterns on them because I was trying to visually make them look a bit distinguished from Mythra’s while still keeping the same idea, but I don’t really care for them. I also don’t like how Pyra 2 is just wearing a T Shirt. I’m not really sure what I was going for with Pyra 3. She kind of looks like Glimmer in the She-Ra reboot, which wasn’t intentional. Pyra 4 leans more into the mecha than any other Pyra. She kind of looks like a ballerina but not really. I was focusing mostly on making her look a lot like Mythra, but I feel that this design has a lot of similar issues to what I have with Pyra’s actual design where it’s sexy and looks cool, but doesn’t really fit the character. Pyra 5 looks like a heroforge character (or maybe like something that fit Mass Effect’s aesthetic if I’m being generous?). I feel that this one also doesn’t fit her character particularly well. Pyra 6 was a bit of an overcorrection and I ended up just drawing Pyra in Alvis’s outfit. And Pyra 7 is the one I actually went with.
Rexes:
Rex 1 was more of a warm-up than anything. I put him in a vest and some pants. The hookshot and x marking were things I completely forgot about until last minute, which is why they look tacked on. He has a belt with some items in it. I wanted to give him scraffly hair and freckles to better emphasize that he’s just some kid. I don’t really like this design. I feel like if I polished it up, it would still have a lot of the benefits to base Rex while not getting as many people complaining about his pants, but the design is overall a huge “meh.”
With Rex 2, I decided to actually look up what scuba gear looks like. This design ended up emphasizing primarily that Rex has a lot of expertise in salvaging and that he’s a kid with humble origins. His strap on was based on a scuba outfit, same with the shoes. He’s also wearing pull-ups with giant pockets. I felt those imply humble origins because pull-ups get associated with rural settings. The giant pockets imply that he works with machinery. That’s also why his hair’s tied back. If you long hair and you work with machinery, that’s supposed to be tied back so that it doesn’t get caught in anything. I also gave him glasses because we need more characters with glasses.
The character’s meant to be 15 and I feel that this looks closer to 15 than 12. If I were to make future iterations of this design, I’d try to lean more into making him look 15 because he doesn’t look 15 enough to me. I’d do this by giving him acne.
He has gloves because he’ll be using a sword and it’s generally not good to scrape up your palm while using one of those. His hook-shot also now takes up his entire arm because that’s heavy equipment. I haven’t figured out how the wire is supposed to be stored without having it fuck up his arm. But the hook itself is now in a little hook cubby. I think I’d want to make the bottom of the shoes look heavier than they are since they don’t currently look great for walking around the bottom of the ocean.
Still, I’m very happy with this Rex. I mostly draw anime girls, so I’m happy with the number of things I feel I’ve gotten right with Rex 2.
Nims and a Dahlia:
I’m a bit unsure of what I want from the Blade designs. I decided to design around their element, their rough personalities, them needing a core crystal, and their element. I also want them to look like they could also exist in the same universe and maybe not look very human? That was, at least, my thought process when drawing Nim, though that thought process was not consistently held, like, at all. A lot of my Blade redesigns don’t look very good because I didn’t have a very good idea towards what I should even be aiming for. The Blades have very generic personalities and overall feel so disconnected from the world that I’d probably just scrap every existing Blade in their entirety and replace them different characters who are better established. Like, maybe because this Blade was born from the Gormott Titan, they look like Gormotti or part giraff as a result and are more likely to have the earth element? And how many hands they’ve been through and the personalities of their previous drivers stack up to subtly influence their appearance? Like, a Blade from Gormott that ended up in Uraya for 10 lifetimes might be an earth-type cat-person with fins or something? Or maybe the more developed a Blade is, the less it resembles a human? But doing that would require writing a lot more lore per individual Blade than is actually provided. But just having something to better frame the Blades as something other than “random (mostly) anime girls that you pick up along the way” would be necessary to give them good designs.
Anyways, with Nim, I figured giving her a Saytr like appearance would be good. She has a strong association with animals and nature, which, for me, translates to “naked.” Alongside that, I looked up Nymphs and they’re also usually depicted as naked women. I also completely disregarded to the two foxes on her shoulders. They were put into Nim 1 as an afterthought.
Nim 1 is the only Nim that isn’t plus-sized because I figured “why not have some different body types among the blades?” A lot of my redesigns for Pyra and Mythra try to keep their body type more or less in tact less because I think it’s the best body type for them and more to spite the idea that them having big boobs is the reason that they’re oversexualized. Like, they are comically big, but they’re only sexualized because of how much attention the camera and design draws to them. But, that’s a side tangent. I made Nim overweight because I like drawing overweight women. Nim 1 gets the vibes of “naked lady” while Nim 2 has the vibes of “big fluffy friend” while Nim 3 is somewhat of a compromise. If I were to make a final design for her out of these, I’d definitely try and fuse some aspects of Nims 2 and 3.
Nim 3 has vines on her arms because Nymphs get depicted with vines quite a bit. The main reason Nim 2 is wearing a sun dress is because I stepped back and thought “wait, maybe some people would have an issue with a naked anime lady running around.” Nim 2 also has a transition between furry legs and no fur legs.
I didn’t really have any ideas for Dahlia. I saw someone draw a version of Dahlia based off Elsa from Frozen and I thought that might be fun to draw. I don’t really have any further thoughts on this.
Praxises:
This is sort of where I was at the point where I realized that if I wanted to redesign the blades, I’d need to figure out some unifying theme for them all. I was thinking “maybe blades could try and visually represent different aspects of being human?” This idea was only really used on Praxis and wasn’t very strongly represented. I was kind of tired when I drew Praxis 1 and Praxis 2 was a bit of a warm-up sketch.
Neither of these designs are particularly good. I wanted Praxis to be wearing those 90s bubbly arm and leg warmers because she has a bubbly personality and is a water type. I don’t know why Praxis 2 is a cowgirl.
Zenobias:
Zenobia 1 is based a bit a wrestler because she has wrestler vibes. I see her as the type of person who would do Dark Souls no armor run on the dance pad. My other thought process was “let me google the word ‘zenobia’ and see what crops up” and I saw something about a Syrian empress but I decided to do zero research, so I have no idea if what I drew was offensive towards muslims. She has a scarf tho because wind.
Zenobia 2 is based on a picture of that empress lady. I don’t think it follows her character in-game particularly well though.
Two (Blade) Nias:
Neither Nia is particularly finished. The main requirements were that this Nia has to look like a Blade, a catgirl, and like something were she’d be able to hide the Blade parts, but not comfortably. I’m at a bit of a loss here. I think the formal wear used in her base-game design is not the way to go. The outfit just doesn’t feel like it matches her brash and snarky personality, like, at all. The first outfit was trying to throw random ideas but nothing was coming up and that’s what happened with the other. Though, Nia 2 gets bonus points for looking like a cats 2019 character. I was sketching out what parts of her body should be covered, but I don’t think I’d want to go with crop-top and skirt because Mythra already has a crop top. The tail is also debatable since I figured if I kept that, how Nia hides the tail could be a fun part of her driver outfit. I also didn’t really like how Driver Nia and Blade Nia have different hair and ear lengths. It bothered me more here than with the original Pyra/Mythra designs because Nia isn’t the Aegis, I don’t think she should be allowed to material and dematerialize her clothing, hair, and ears like that. I do kind of like the idea of giving her paws since those are things that can be easily hidden by shoes. Giving her spotted skin isn’t a bad idea but it’s not as high on the “keep” scale as the paws are (which aren’t super high in the first place).
Overall, it’s probably a bit anticlimactic to end on some lame designs, but that’s how it goes, I guess. If I were to redesign more of the Blades (or finish the Blade redesigns I started), I’d need to figure out what running themes I want from the Blade designs. I think maybe focusing on the human designs first and working from there could be a way to go. Unsure.

Traveler’s Journal/Character Entry: Childe #1
“Immediately following our first time in Liyue Harbor, it didn’t take long for trouble to find us.
After the sudden death of Rex Lapis, the Geo Archon, during the Rite of Descension, Paimon and I were chased by the Millelith guards, when falsely accused of being the assassins who had killed the land’s deity.
It was then we were rescued by the mysterious individual calling himself “Childe”, wielding a Hydro Vision. His fighting style was like something I’ve never seen.
“Come with me.”
Despite his affiliation with the Fatui, he seemed rather friendly and warm for one, much more than Signora… I still couldn’t forget what happened then in Mondstadt.
Childe noted he wasn’t a fan of her “methods”, and I didn’t sense any signs of deception from his tone.
His eyes were as crystal clear and deep as the ocean like you could almost drown in them. His hair was short and unkempt, yet very neat. The vivid orange color reminded me of the fall leaves of one of the worlds I visited with Lumine once. His clothes seemed so exotic yet out of place, so obviously he wasn’t from Liyue. His skin was snow-white like you could almost see through him. He was quite the handsome fellow though, I’ll say. Almost more than Kaeya.
I wasn’t sure of what a Harbinger of the Fatui was doing here, but for now I should at least try to trust him since he did save our hides, no matter the reason. Seems like the right choice for now.”

A Jedi for a Clone ; Captain Rex x Reader
PART 2 HERE
pairing: Rex x Reader
Summary: Imagine you're Pong Krells former padawan, now freshly knighted jedi, and you feel hatred towards the clones, especially the 501st, and you get put on a mission with Anakin. The clones are all a little scared to get close to you but also feel a little guilty (because they're angels) since you saw Krell when he was still a good jedi and they feel like they took your parental figure. But then the more time you spend with them you realize what your master actually did
a/n: this is pretty much my first time writing anything remotely star wars x reader so whoever comes across this bear with me. i’m a stupid little beginner lol.
“Is everyone ready?”
“Yes, General, we expect the shuttle to arrive within the next 10 to 20 minutes.”
Anakin nodded as he looked over the cliffs that the 501st had set their temporary camp up on.
Arami was a planet located on the outer rim, not far from where Anakin had grown up, meaning barely outside of Hutt Space.
It had not been long since separatist forces had invaded the sparsely populated planet and had begun to enslave its population – doing so right under the republics eyes.
To provocate them into a fight, Anakin had thought when the council had brought up the news of yet another separatist invasion.
To make it seem like the Republic was illegally occupying neutral worlds and forcing them onto their side.
Anakin had known it was a set up from the very beginning, but the council had insisted that he take care of the problem. To be more specific, the council had sent Obi-Wan to give Anakin the orders, knowing of the connection the former padawan and master had and how Anakin was less likely to refuse the mission if it came from his almost-father figure.
And of course Anakin did want to refuse. He despised being anywhere near Hutt-Space, more specifically, his old home world of Tatooine.
Too many bad memories were connected to that place. In the end he reluctantly accepted.
It would be a quick mission.
The seperatists had supposedly not sent many of their droid forces.
An easy task for the Jedi General.
And it may or may not have been his deeply rooted hatred for the slave business that convinced him to take on this mission.
As he looked over the cliffs near the coasts of an Arami ocean he had to admit the planet was barely anything like the sandy, vast, emptiness of Tatooine.
If he closed his eyes and listened to the clash of waves he could almost pretend to be on the beautiful idyllic plateaus of Naboo, nobody but a certain senator by his side.
The only thing ruining the beautiful scenery inside his head were the excited and anxious chatter of his men, his troopers, behind him.
The council had sent Anakin and the five-oh-first without any aerial star destroyer support.
Not even the senate, nor chancellor Palpatine had been notified of the decision. It was supposed to be a quiet secret between them and the Arami people they would rescue.
The only other person assigned to the mission was another Jedi General. A senior padawan that had been knighted only months ago and Anakin and his men were about to meet her.
Formerly Commander now General (Y/N) (L/N) had made a name for herself within the last two years of the war, not only by rising up in ranks and in the favor of many High Jedi of the Jedi Council but also in her skill of many force techniques and abilities as well as the success rate of her missions.
Many civilians knew of her as a saviour, many jedi knew her as one of the top notch generals of the outer rim.
The clones however would only know her under one name.
Master Pong Krells Padawan.
The shuttle had barely exited hyperspace and reached the Arami system when whispered rumors circulated around Anakins men.“Krells Padawan. She’s really coming.”
“Do you think she’s bringing a clone battalion with her?”
“Nah I heard she doesn’t work with clones. Not ever since...Umbara, y’know.”
“I heard she used to command several troops until she heard the news of the Generals death. I’ve heard she...slaughtered her own men in a fit of rage.”
“Banthashit! Don’t listen to all the rumors you hear in 79’s, Echo.”
“I swear it’s true!”
“Did you guys know she wields two lightsabers?”
Anakin could not block their voices out, as much as he tried. The force surrounding his men was practically shaking with their insecurity.
He hated that they felt that way.
And he hated himself for not being on Umbara when it happened to help his men.
He regretted leaving his men in the care of that psychopath in the first place.
But how should he have known?
The regret clawed its way into his mind anyway.
As for General (L/N)...She was not an unfamiliar face to him. In fact, because she was not far from his age, the two of them had often been in meditation and intergalactic geography classes together, as younglings. She had been nice to him.
Helped him once with one of the questions when Master Mundi had asked him about the surface of Mon Cala and he had been too occupied with his daydream to realize he had been called upon. After whispering a quick “thanks” she had giggled in response, before focusing her attention back onto the Jedi Master.
That was before Obi-Wan took him on his first mission, followed up by many more. As a result Anakin spent much less time with the other younglings. Maybe he had seen her once or twice in the halls of the Jedi Temple, Anakin could not recall it. Had Master Krell been by her side? He didn’t know either.
When Anakin had consoled his men after the nightmares of Umbara he had been more than surprised that many of the clones, Rex included, felt horrible for what they had done to the Jedi Master. Anakin at the time had thought it was due to their extensive training on Kamino, where they learned to obey their Generals under any circumstances.
Only later had he found out someone had gone to his men and told them all about Pong Krell, his devotion to the Jedi Order and his kindness towards his fellow Jedi.
And of course, about his very young Padawan.
Anakin had wanted to console her as well, had wanted to check up on her to make sure she was alright after the horrible news reached him.
He knew very well the feeling of guilt about not being able to do something about the death of someone beloved and how the darkness would very easily latch onto that feeling and devour it.
The council forbade him to act.
Instead they sent him on another mission – far from Umbara – a small planet in the mid rim.
Simple humanitarian acts.
The council had probably thought they showed mercy and compassion.
Bantha shit.
The young General turned around as he received a message on his comlink. A trooper signaled him that the shuttle would land shortly.
Anakin thanked him and started walking towards the landing area they had cleared up. As he walked past his men he noticed how they tensed up and muted.
As if their earlier “whispers” hadn’t been loud enough for the entire system to hear.
He sighed and regarded them with an empathetic gaze before he made his way to the front. He hoped they knew what he meant by that. He understood their fears.
The shuttle had settled on the ground and Anakin and several of his troopers watched as the ships ramp rolled out.
Seconds later a figure emerged from the bright lights of the ships.
There she stood, General (L/N), clad in dark jedi robes.
She took less than a second to inspect her surroundings, looking the clones right into their eyes before her gaze fell upon the fellow Jedi General.
With a strong, confident walk and a serious, stern expression she stepped down the ramp and made her way to Anakin, ignoring the soldiers saluting her arrival.
---
You felt the clones’ nervousness in the force the moment the ship had touched Arami grounds. Good.
They should fear you.
They should shake underneath their bright white armor.
Blue.
They had chosen blue to paint their generic armor. A pathetic attempt at individuality.
Red would have been more fitting in your opinion.
Had Master Krells red blood spilled on their neatly painted armor when they murdered him in cold blood?
You had asked yourself the question numerous times. It still haunted you.
Dozens of eyes fell on you and you resisted the urge to shoot them a glare, deadlier than the two blue lightsabers attached to your hips.
The council had sent you of all people on this idiotic mission.
And you knew you had more important missions to attend to – in the calmness and familiarity of your own presence. Not surrounded by mindless clones. The killers of the kindest man you had known in your life, nonetheless.
“General (L/N)”, Skywalkers voice sounded.
“It’s a pleasure to have someone as talented as you here with me.”
You knew of Anakin Skywalker. The golden boy of the galactic war.
In fact, you had idolized him before Umbara had happened.
Of course you knew he had nothing to do with what had happened, as he had been deployed elsewhere at the time, just like you yourself had been. B
ut the fact that he continued to work with jedi-killers had shocked you.
How was he able to live with these men that had killed one of you?
“As it is for me, General Skywalker.”, you finally answered, taking the hand he had reached out to you and shaking it firmly. “My deepest and sincerest apologies for what happened to Master Krell.” Oh no.
“I want you to know that I-” You didn’t give him the chance to continue what he had intended to say. No – you did not need his empty words of pity.
“General I think we should discuss our strategy now.”, you instead cut him off with. “Yes...Of course.” Skywalker rubbed his forehead and sighed, stretching his arm out towards the location of their main tent. “But I just want to-”
You didn’t even give him the chance to speak, before abruptly turning towards the direction he had pointed at, determined to get this mission over as quickly as possible.
It was then that you ran face first into a tall, broad man that had seemingly come out of nowhere. And your heightened Jedi senses had been too clouded with Skywalkers presence to recognize the other person.
Normally this simple occurrence would not have fazed you in the slightest. But this was Arami and aside from yourself and Skywalker there were only a certain group of people on the planet. Clones.
Instinctively your hands went to your lightsabers and your mouth curled into an angry scowl, eyes burning with fury.
What imbecile of a labor-bred traitor had dared to step in your way?
You locked eyes with a blonde clone in full armor, clutching onto his helmet and already taking a few steps back.
“General forgive me. I didn’t mean to-”
The grip around your right lightsaber tightened. Had it not been for a decade of training in the arts of meditation, you would have probably jumped onto him like a feral beast and rammed your lightsaber right through that stupidly dyed head of his.
Instead you decided to exhale deeply through your nostrils and stared right at him.
“It’s General (L/N) to you, soldier. Unlike you I have a name and I would prefer it be used to address me properly.”
He could barely look into your eyes.
“Oh you’ve met, Rex.”, you recognized Skywalker's voice from behind you. “Captain Rex to be exact. One of my most trusted men.”
Yes you knew of the silly little nicknames the clones gave each other and you were also aware of what Anakin was trying to accomplish, but you decided to not fall into his trap and walked towards the command tent.
“You okay, Rex?”, Anakin asked shortly after you left, laying his hand on Rex’ shoulder in a soft attempt to comfort.
“Yeah...Yeah General. I don’t know what came over me. I wanted to apologize. I told myself now or never. But when I saw her I – I froze.”
Anakin frowned, his eyebrows knitting in disbelief.
“Rex you know you have nothing to apologize for. You acted in the name of justice.”
The clone trooper stared at the ground, before putting his helmet back on.
“If you say so.”

a/n: Originally I wanted to write out the entire idea of her sitting down with rex and talking it out and realizing how she had been in the wrong and even make it a little romantic but then i got a little carried away in the process and it turned out WAY too long anyway so- enjoy this. whatever it is. I’d call it experiment and me dipping into unknown territory to see if i want to continue lol
Maybe I will do a second part where they actually work it out tho

In hopes to attract some more attention to my works, I’m posting a preview of the prologue/first chapter of the 40k x RWBY crossover story I’m writing. A link to the thread on Space Battles Forum will be posted at the bottom of the thread.
Synopsis: Magnus the Red, revived and redeemed through means arcane and ill-understood, has migrated to the world of Remnant after aiding his father in breathing life into a dying empire. With his sons, he will prove himself to the galaxy and to himself, or he will perish alongside the world of Dust he has pledged his life to.

Beacon Academy’s library was not the most elegant structure—it did not need to be. It was pragmatic in its design, generous perhaps in its dimensions, however. Large, with open space allowing for room to grow its interior. Walls that were half-a-foot thick, comprised of materials that could resist the force of a Megaton Bomb, if it were to exist on this strange world.
Despite these shortcomings, it still managed to awe the students as they entered, immediately greeted by a gothic marvel, akin to that of an, albeit simple, large cathedral. The front doors were wide, comprised of dark, well-conditioned and well-made wood that could withstand the blast of a grenade without even a scratch, battened by flat steel reinforcements along its top and bottom sections, riveted with gold and brass. Above that door, arching up to converge at a single point from which a stone gargoyle would sit upon an arched outcropping, and above that stone guardian, was a window. Stained glass in the shape of a nigh-perfect circle, plagued by the imperfections of the tools at hand, but certainly not the craftsmanship. It was no particular depiction displayed in the colourful window, yet many students still claimed to see figures in its visage.
Upon exiting the foyer—entering deeper into the mighty library, dubbed the Magnus Librariae, the Greatest Library, this theme only continues. High ceilings are accented by light fixtures that mimic the silhouette of candles, even giving the faintest flicker every so often to perform its best imitations of a wicked stick of wax. Walls with grandiose architecture that was painted along the curved roof to depict many a battle from that Great War which ended some eighty years before. The murals and the stories told by them, however, ultimately serve little other than to add an air to the building, something it accomplished well. Students respected this place above all others—no fights broke out in its expansive interior. No rules laid out by the quaint, feeble old man that called himself the librarian, were ignored or disobeyed. Books were placed on shelves where they belonged, and they remained nearly as pristine as the day they were taken off the printing presses.
Among the many towering shelves of the Beacon Library, a single book, one with no fancy cover or elegant text upon its spine, a simplistic, yet exquisitely crafted, leather-backed tome, sat upon a shelf. This shelf contained many tomes like it, each one unique in its contents if not its cover, but this one, so simple among such elegantly, flamboyantly crafted tomes, had the luck of catching the eye of the first woman to read its contents in so very long.
Pyrrha Nikos, while not much of a scholarly type in her own right, could still appreciate a good book. A good pastime when one spent as many hours as her or her team did recovering from battle wounds or engaging in the oh so arduous and pressing task of simply finding peace. Pyrrha couldn’t quite place what had drawn her to decide to read upon the topic of history. Perhaps Oobleck’s lessons were starting to get through to her, learning of history, after all, is the best way to avoid repeating those past mistakes in the future. Perhaps it had been the simple cover of the tome, the black sheep among the flock of silver-coated, shimmering lambs. Perhaps it had simply been fate.
Pyrrha took the tome from the shelf, finding herself coughing as long-settled dust was released from its still place along the ill-searched shelf. A brush of her hand and the cover became clearer, the title in simple, bold font along the top sect of the book, not too small that one must bring it closer to properly read, yet not too large as to take up any amount of space wider than a young woman’s hand. On the dusty, sage cover of the historical text, read the title:
SORTIARIUS, THE LOST CITY OF THE SHARPENED DREAMERS.
Pyrrha hummed softly as she mulled over the title. A brief flip-through showed the book in fair condition, with very little wear on its pages from frequent readings like some of the more popular tomes, like that of the Faunus scholar Mitellus and his reflections on the prejudice of man and beast, or the influential military tomes of Taurus Rex that taught many of the young students the advanced combat techniques utilized by full-fledged Huntsmen and Huntresses, or even that of the popular comic series, Pumpkin Pete’s Bizarre Adventure. This one was different, different enough to warrant being tucked under Pyrrha’s arm, against the bronzed cuirass of her outfit alongside the dozen other thick books already waiting, yet still a black sheep among a sea of ebon wool in comparison to the rest.
The shelves of the library were not only tall—dwarfing Pyrrha like a grown adult man to a toddler and then some—but they were dense. Sound had issues fully traveling in some places, especially the historical literature sections and discerning one’s location had become such a crisis that electronic signs would be mounted along the narrow of the shelves in order to direct students to where they wished to go. Even such a knowledgeable woman like Pyrrha found herself using the screens to get back to the main foyer of the library, the notorious two-floored, incredibly simplistic in comparison, warmly-lit main area where students gathered at tables to study and where the more commonly-read tombs were positioned on significantly smaller shelves than their taller, broader cousins in the deep of the library.
Soon enough however, the crimson-haired girl found herself weaving out from the shelves of the library and toward the wooded balcony overlooking the humble librarian’s station, situated cozily against the wall, alongside the main tables, where she would find her friends of Ruby and her wonderful team, alongside her beloved comrades in Team JNPR. Pyrrha quickened her pace, quietly speed-walking down a stairwell off to the right before emerging from past a column which supported the stairs she’d mantled. Ruby was the first to spot her, waving frantically to Pyrrha before the rest of her friends did the same, happy to see their friend alive and in one piece after her oh-so-brave venture into the heart of the library of Beacon, plentifully notorious for having many a student get lost in its winding halls for days on end before being found.
“Pyrrha! We thought you got lost,” Jaune said to his teammate with a smile as he turned to greet her, his blonde mop of hair obscuring the upper parts of his eyes as he shifted. Nora quickly bounced up from her seat like a helium-infused rocket and hugged her dear red-headed friend.
“Haha! I’m glad to see you’re safe—and not just because Ruby and I had a bet over whether you would get lost in the library,” Nora rambled as she embraced her friend, the raven-haired tiny reaper seething quietly at her seat with a hint of amusement drawing at the corners of her lips. Pyrrha allowed herself to giggle a bit at the antics of her friends before sliding into one of the wooden chairs beside Jaune, books neatly taken from the crook of her arm and stacked atop one another. Her eyes drifted curiously down to the sage-backed book at the top, the tale of the Lost City, a story of which she was endlessly curious about now. Not once in any of her history lessons, from the youngest of ages to now, had she even been vaguely made aware of this city, this Sortiarius. It baffled her mind and tempted her as her fingers graced the ribbed spine before gently taking it into her right hand, pushing softly the heavy stack of tomes off to the side in order to make room for the one which now held her full attention. Flipping it open to the front page, she was met with the author’s name and the opening words. She read the words in her mind after taking a deep breath.
‘It is in this tome that I, Helio Kalliston, noble orator of the final dynasty of the Redguard Guild of Serfs and Peasants, enclose the fullest history of the noble city of Sortiarius, from its earliest days as a result of colonization turned to migration by the various nations of the time, to its final days, collapsing at the hand of the damned Grimm…’
Pyrrha was quickly sucked into the elegant words of Helio Kalliston. He described a city borne from the ashes of apocalypse at the hands of Grimm, forged by the ancient and venerable Crimson King, a towering giant of a man who wielded the very weather in his own hands as he led his people from all the way in Solitas as the tyrant-kings rose to power, all the way across the ocean and through many villages, saving those they could from the rampaging hordes of Grimm that followed the melancholic band of knights that followed the King, whose powers were legend among the descendants of the Sortiarians. One story described a knight in full plate that carried the very hand of the righteous God of the Sun along his right arm, melting Grimm with beams of glowering orange heat, whilst the snarling, hateful axe of the God of the Underworld was clasped in his left, using these weapons to strike down any, man, woman or Grimm that dared stand in the way of him and his King. The legends enraptured Pyrrha like few things had done before—the harrowing tales of a city being forged from the fires of a Grimm-infested forest filled her with excitement, whilst the tales of the many dynasties of the philosopher-kings thrilled her, before saddening her upon their deaths upon the eve of long-gone centuries past. Pyrrha had no concept of how much time had passed as she fingered through the pages of the historical literature, allowing the outside world to bleed away until it was only her and the fated words of Helio Kalliston, the final orator of Sortiarius and its dynasties before the city’s destruction, described in the final words of the tome, written in by a second writer who included what Helio could not in the final manuscript. To think that any of this could have possibly been true, even if exaggerated, amazed Pyrrha. She lamented thoroughly how dozens of other records were used to cross-reference and act as intellectual sources for the knowledge of the tome and, though it was long, it seemed almost hollow. Reading the ending sentiments at the back revealed to her the unfortunate truth—that the tome was meant as the summary to a longer line of historical records which would cover in detail the many aspects of life in Sortiarius, from the socio-political battlegrounds to the innerworkings of the nigh mystical Redguard, the angelic warriors who defended the city to the last man, woman and child, the incorruptible few among the fallible many. How she would love to sink into the past and simply see what it may have been… however her fantasies were cut short by a nudge from Jaune. Promptly looking up, Pyrrha found the eyes of their table entirely on her. Cheeks flushed and quietly turning to Jaune for an answer, she sputtered out an embarrassed excuse to her silence.
“I-I’m sorry, I was so enraptured in my reading I didn’t even hear you if you were speaking to me.” Jaune smiled and nodded in understanding.
“I know the feeling. Those Pumpkin Pete graphic novels always have me glued to my seat!” The wholesome smile on their naïve leader’s face was something to be appreciated when it showed, Pyrrha had learn to do as the naivety—or perhaps innocence—of Jaune was enough to bring joy to both their teams in ways that would become scarce in their later years. This moment was no exception, giggles spreading across the table before Pyrrha responded.
“Well… While I can say that I’ve read those, albeit for a children’s charity some time ago… this book is one I don’t think I’ve ever heard of,” Pyrrha spoke with curiosity mixed into her tone, bringing forth that same emotion from her fellows.
“That’s so weird! You’re like one of the biggest bookworms I know, how have you not read this one?” Nora asked loudly as she came in close to her Mistralian comrade, the girl rocking backward to compensate for the distance lost between them.
“Well… I don’t know. It was in the historical section in the deeper parts of the library. It talks about an ancient civilization that was around before any of the four kingdoms, called Sortiarius.” Pyrrha explained the book in simpler terms to her younger and more… immature friends.
“It was this city that existed, well, we don’t know how long ago, but the footnotes suggest thousands of years ago! They were a kingdom, well, closer to a city-state, but they were a big one. Their government was a complex bureaucracy guided by mentor-figures called ‘The Philosopher Kings’ who ruled over the city. According to this book, they had mastered the art of using the soul as a tool that they could perform minor acts of what they considered sorcery. Although, I’m not so sure if that last part is real… ultimately it wouldn’t matter all that much, their city fell to the Grimm and internal strife long before even Vale was around,” Pyrrha explained to the best of her ability. While it wasn’t difficult in by any definition of the word, it certainly wasn’t simple by any means either. She had barely gotten through the first three chapters and it had been at least an hour. She let out a minor huff of irritation as she stared down at the book—as interesting as it was, she didn’t have the free time in any week to reliably put in enough time to read and retain whatever information could be gleamed from the book. However, judging by how the weapons were described in those opening three chapters, she had a fair idea of who might find better use of the book.
Pyrrha Nikos flipped the book shut and stretched out her arms before turning her gaze to the young, raven-haired red reaper.
“Ruby, you love weapons… you should read this. The Redguard—the city’s defense force, huntsmen of the time, they used some of the most advanced-sounding weapons I’ve read about, guns that fired some sort of energy and something called a ‘chainsword,’ among other things.” She placed her hands over the book and thumbed the cover as she asked, admiring the simplicity in the design for a moment before her eyes caught Ruby’s own orbs turning to saucers.
“Chainsword? As in a chainsaw-sword? Guns?! What kind of guns?! Sniper rifles? Shotguns? Pistols? Automatic weapons?! I demand to know moooore!” Ruby all-but belly-flopped onto the table as she got close to Pyrrha and the precious book, hands reaching out to snatch it, though the fiery-haired champion tugged the ancient tome back before her young friend could snag it.
“This book is very old, Ruby, be careful with it.” She was prepared to lecture the girl slightly, though feeling that was more the white-haired ice queen’s—as the rowdier students had nicknamed her, rather rudely—job than hers. The pouty face given by Ruby had not helped much either.
“I will! I promise,” Ruby said softly upon Pyrrha bringing the book closer. The younger girl took the tome in her hands for a moment and did the same as her compatriot—just finding a moment to admire the simple design, where so many others were elegant, vain and loud, this one was… humble. Quiet, soft-spoken. It knew that what it contained was worthy of her eyes, it was confident to such a degree that it did not need such a vain and flashy cover. A simple, leather, sage-green cover with neat, lightly-coloured, tall and bold font to display its title and the purpose of the tome. Something about it relieved Ruby’s mind as she took the book and scooted back into her seat. She slipped it into her bag after a moment of contemplation longer and refocused herself on studying.
Some hours had gone by, studying, socializing, and doing the part of students as best as could be expected of them. Eventually the sun grew tired and dipped below the horizon, allowing for the fractured moon of Remnant to rise in its place. The students, having spent their day studying, were unified with the sun in their exhaustion. So, after a long day of studying, the two teams separated from one another, said their goodbyes, and retired to their dorms. Whilst most members of the teams were quick to lay their heads to sleep, there was one outlier among them.
Through the darkest hours of the night and to the early morning of the next day, Ruby sat at her desk and poured over the tome. Vast in density with its glorious renditions of battles between the mystical Redguard, towering giants that were rumoured to be ancient half-automata half-man, and the darkest and most formidable forms of Grimm that Ruby had ever seen depicted. Real or not, the images were nice to look at and that was where most of her time was spent, for despite the thickness of the tome, it still bore little content. Pyrrha’s assessment of the book had proved painfully correct, as it referred to so many dozens of other books that were likely long gone.
Her hunger for knowledge, always satiable, overwhelmed the young raven-haired reaper and she found herself redressed and quietly sneaking off to the library in those dark hours of the early morning. As she came to those huge oaken doors, Ruby paused.
Would the doors be locked? Would this all have been for naught? No, she would get her answers. Did that mean breaking in? Or did that mean waiting till morning? There were classes and countless trainings the next day, she wouldn’t get a chance like this again. But what if she was caught?
Her endless tirade of paranoid thoughts was stopped when the doors slowly creaked open, startling the girl as the humble librarian quietly pulled the door open and stared at her. He was hunchbacked ever slightly, wearing a brown robe that enclosed a thin body, while frail, had once been muscular and built like brick and steel. His face was wide, likely statuesque in his youth, but years fighting had scarred his face and old age wrinkled the once handsome features.
“You should be in bed, young one,” he greeted quietly after a brief staring contest that might have lasted a few seconds too long.
“I-I know, but I read this book and I just wanted to know more-!” Ruby began to explain in a lapse of mild panic, only for the librarian to raise a hand to silence her as he spotted the ancient tome in her hands.
“I am not one to judge the practices of those seeking knowledge… Gods know that would make me a hypocrite,” he opened the door fully and beckoned the young Ruby Rose in. The library was quietly lit by golden candlelight, the dim flickering shading the librarian’s face in soft yellows and oranges, highlighting the scars along his left cheek, burns, cuts, gauges in the wrinkled flesh. It intimidated the girl a moment, but the knowing smile invited her into the expansive library, and she took the offer gladly, clutching the sage-backed tome in her arms as she entered Beacon Library, the door closing behind her softly.
Soon, Ruby was sitting with a small stack of disappointingly thin tomes that could barely equate to the width of the historical, sage-backed volume, but it was enlightening, nonetheless. A cup of steaming tea sat at the opposite side to the books, on a ceramic saucer. Across from her, sat the librarian, pouring over a quiet-looking book. She shifted in her seat for a moment and waited to see the reaction from the old man across from her. When none came, she sat her head on her hands and sighed exaggeratedly. No response. The young reaper wriggled in her chair for a while before she couldn’t take the silence anymore without books to pour over.
“I still can’t believe that this place used to exist,” Ruby blurted. The librarian peeked up from the book he was reading, raising an eyebrow curiously.
“You’re unsure of the truth,” the librarian spoke softly as he closed his book, sliding it to his left. Ruby hesitantly nodded.
“The way they describe the weapons and these drawings, they just seem… unreal. Like something out of a fantasy book. They said the one captain, Hastar H’Kett, he had a weapon that was like… some kind of lance of orange light and all the pictures show him doing all this crazy stuff—it just… it feels more like a legend than ancient history, y’know?” Ruby ranted rapidly, red-faced and rosy as the old librarian stared at her with an amused expression gracing his features. He folded his hands together and sat them in front of him as he began.
“Well, I can assure you. This,” he pointed to the book, tapping its cover with his index finger, “it is our history. Remnant’s history. Some of those images were… exaggerated, but I can tell you that they very much had weapons like how those flowery words describe.” He grinned as Ruby became bemused at first, her forehead scrunching as her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes darted back and forth in thought.
“It… they’re not lances. They’re guns. But… how could that be possible!?! No Dust weapons could even accomplish stuff like this even now!” Ruby asked incredulously. In return, the humble librarian laughed softly, tapping a hand gently to the table, understating what would be a symbol of exaggerated laughter. Perhaps it was a sign of his age catching up with him, making him more soft-spoken. Perhaps it was simply an action to be amusing to the young student, a goal he readily achieved as Ruby tittered at his antics, something that brought a smile to his aged facial features.
“Well, I can at least tell you a story. Something passed down in my family… it all began in those olden days when most men fought with spears, swords and axes. Not the Sortiarites, they used majestic automata and weapons the like of which would never be known again…”

It was only a 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 before Yozora was confronted about his 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒. ( Be it the theft of possession or life. ) 𝐆𝐀𝐙𝐄 of crimson and ocean glared remorselessly towards the 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐊𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, his weapons nought in sight-- lest he be 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐃 even more of a threat than he 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐒. ❛ I don’t know who you’re talking about. ❜ Night sky 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐃, leather-gloved hands coiled over pallid forearms. ❛ Nor have I seen this ‘Vision’. ❜

KH3 ending interpretation
KH3 ENDING SPOILERS derp lol
Thought I'd put this here, since like many others, the ending made me extremely angry at first. Now I know better. Or, I think I do anyways. But the man who thinks he knows something, knows nothing... lmao.
Sora says he knows what to do to find Kairi. Mickey objects, and warns him that using the power of waking improperly again might cause him to be lost forever.
Everything Sora says here seems to imply he's chosen Kairi over Riku, even after experiencing Riku's act of self sacrifice (twice). Even Riku seems to think so, his expression seems quite sad.
But despite whatever Riku is feeling, he convinces Mickey to let Sora go. He is demonstrating another quality of true love here: trust.
Then Sora opens and enters a keyhole, and he does find Kairi's heart. Where exactly, I'm not sure. My going theory is that her heart took refuge within Riku as a result of Aqua's enchantment on her necklace, like it took refuge within Sora in KH1. Her powers as a princess of heart are largely unexplored so this is a tough one. Anyways...
The 2 Destiny Islands scenes are clearly seperate, as you can tell by the position of the sun.
However, it's not technically 2 different times but 2 different places, even though both scenes seem to take place on the island.
Wherever Sora found Kairi's heart, he brought it to the same datascape of Destiny Islands that Riku went to in DDD. The one that Ansem the Wise hid inside Sora's heart, where Riku saw Xion, Ventus, and Roxas. Kairi's heart is inside Sora's heart, and she's safe. When he said they would both be back, he was telling the truth. Her body seems to have been destroyed, but the gang has access to replicas now so... no big deal I guess.
I think Kairi would be perfectly content to just stay in Sora's heart though. All she ever wanted was to be close to him. He can protect her that way, and she can protect him. She is always close and she would never be alone again. Basically everything Sora was talking about before he left.
A tear rolls down Kairi's face, but she is smiling, showing that she's crying from happiness. Then Sora starts disappearing, and again, neither of them are particularly upset by this. They hold hands and calmly look into each others eyes as Sora vanishes. This is because Sora disappearing is merely him leaving to go home, exiting the dive into his heart.
I have a feeling that right before this they had a very heartfelt conversion about their dear friend Riku.
This also means Sora can still dual-wield.
Now this is something I wasn't sure about since Oathkeeper wasn't in KH3, but now they're adding it in the DLC so it ties in well.
Kairi seems to look at her hand for a split second before the credits start to roll, and she appears to be holding something.
I think it's her Wayfinder.
We last saw it in Blank Points, she gave it to Sora before he and Riku went to do their Mark of Mastery exam. And it looks like Sora gave it back to her here. Since it symbolizes Sora's promise to Kairi to always come back to her, this is significant.
No more promises. Those are for making other people happy.
So then when everyone on the beach stops what they're doing and look out over the ocean, they're seeing Sora coming home. This is why Donald runs toward the water excitedly, and why Naminé smiles. Riku and Sora said they would thank her together.
It's also why the last person shown, from that scene, is Riku. His expression is hard to read, as usual, but he seems mildly surprised perhaps? A small lift of the eyebrows.
He is seeing Sora coming home, alone (physically anyways), and realizes Sora is coming back to be by his side. Because that's his destiny.
Right after this is when something happens that brings Sora and Riku to the secret ending scenario.
This will go similarly to the Verum Rex commercial from Toy Box. Watch the commercial, replace Yozora with Riku, his two party members with Donald and Goofy, and the female character with Sora. Yozora even rides through a tunnel of ice, just like how you can ride Blizzard spells with Flowmotion. Instead of Gigas, they will most likely be attacked by Liches.
I might just be obsessed, but I find this unnamed female character looks more like Sora than Kairi. There is also a shot I find interesting, of her crossing her arms across her chest, as if her heart were in pain.
Sora looks at his hand in the secret ending to show us that, even though he's in Shibuya, there's no timer there. But that's not the only reason...

I’ve Completed KH3 And I Have Thoughts.
I have finished KH3 short of the side stuff like the ultima weapon, classic kingdom, gummi ship stuff, battle portals and the cooking. I have some thoughts. First off, I loved this game allot. I only have a couple of complaints gameplay wise and three story wise but all in all, I loved every minute of this game. For those who don’t want to read everything I’d give the game a solid 8.5/10. It was amazing but a few small flaws and the three story issues I had made me bring the score down.
First I will discuss the issues cause I feel that’s what one should do when critiquing art. I will offer solutions where I can.
I will discuss my gameplay complaints first.
The manual lock on is ass while the auto lock on is decent. I almost never used the manual lock on due to the fact it can just drag the camera where ever it wanted. Especially if enemies start flying. This is largely due to how often you spend in the air while in combat. The auto lock is good though and doesn’t seem to change targets unless you make it or bump into another enemy. The manual lock is good for human sized bosses though. Short of making the camera tighter this may not be able to be fixed.
The game is to damn easy. I had this issue in BBS and DDD after I got to level 30 and beyond. The game becomes easy even on proud. This is largely due to bad enemy health scaling. They still can hit damn hard and enemies like the Ice Dragon still are dangerous. But since the enemy’s health and defense don’t scale up better the game becomes real easy after level 40. I don’t doubt they will patch in a critical mode which may be a better way to play this game. Just better enemy scaling would fix this problem.
That’s all my gameplay complaints now for story ones. SPOILERS will be discussed so leave while you can.
The game has bad pacing in the Disney worlds. Some like Olympus, Toy Box, San Fransokyo and Kingdom Of Corona have great pacing while Monstropolis is meh and ones like Pirates and Arendelle were just awful. Why are you cheering for Anna and Elsa Sora? You didn’t do anything you turd. This could have been fixed if they added intervals in between all the worlds to reset the pacing and if they just followed the movies from start to finish in their entirety instead of jumping around.
Twilight Town is more of a bus stop then a world. They should have made it bigger and included old areas to explore. Even an expanded sewer system would have been fun. No story reason needed it just exists. Oh well.
These next issues ARE MAJOR SPOILERS so leave now if you don’t want to be spoiled.
What the fuck is Nomura’s issue with writing a good arc for Kairi? I mean they set her up to be training to become a bad ass and we don’t get to see either the training or a decent fight scene. We fight with her once, she gets kidnapped, and then fucking dies!? I’m starting to think Nomura doesn’t know how to write female characters. That may be one of the reasons they dropped him from FF Versus XIII since females had big roles in the story. He fucked Kairi over and made her the least likable and cared about character in the fucking finale of this Saga to me. What the hell? This alone may actually get me to start my own series on something I’ve been thinking about for awhile. Jesus. The death isn’t the issue its that there was no build up for her.
The last story complaint is a small one. I saw Sora’s “death” coming since death seemed to be a theme in allot of the world’s we went to. Flynn, Anna, Jack, and Tadashi were or are dead at some point. Even Young Xehanort hinted at it when he said, “There is a high price to pay for wielding such power recklessly (...) There is no saving you.” The issues I have with the “death” of Sora is that it means nothing. Nomura said he will be the protagonist for the foreseeable future. If he didn’t say that then the death would be okay. The main complaint about this is the final scene on Destiny Islands where everyone sees Kairi and Sora but Sora just gets Thanos’d. That shouldn’t have been in there. There are two scenarios that would work way better than that one in my eyes.
One: Everyone is just looking out to the sea and the music goes quiet. All you can hear is the sounds of the waves and it zooms to Riku and he just smiles.
Two: Same thing but Kairi comes from the ocean in tears and Riku helps her up. They all look at her and she shakes her head. Everyone gets solemn until Riku chuckles. He smiles and says, “That knuckle head always getting into trouble. He’ll be back. Even if I have to drag him home.”
Maybe its stupid but if you removed the scene where Sora turns into smoke or whatever, the ending would have allot more impact.
Those are all my complaints for the game. Like I said solid overall but with a few issues that could easily be fixed.
Now for the stuff I loved about the game.
Gameplay Is First
All the worlds were so much damn fun to explore. I easily spent and extra couple hours in each just looking around for chests, emblems, Easter eggs, and ingredients. Even Pirates was fun and I was worried it’d be gimmicky due to the ship mechanic but nope it was so much fun. The only one that was less fun was Monstropolis but since it takes place in a factory its okay. It seemed more into hidden paths than open places which is fine.
I haven’t had that much fun with a combat system since playing as Vergil In Devil May Cry 4 Special edition and that’s saying something. His combat was so smooth and easy to experiment with I didn’t think it could be beat but KH3′s comes close with transformations and grand magic. The attractions are a bonus though I didn’t use them allot. There wasn’t a need at later levels.
Thank god for combo cancelling with dodges and slides. Against the Gigas, which are the only enemies that pose a threat now, its a god send.
Flowmotion is fun to use and not over powered like in DDD. No more spamming air slam at early levels.
The party members all feel useful. Not many died in combat and seemed smart enough to back off when they’re in danger. Donald also heals based on need versus what he did before. Like if I was out of magic and potions he would heal me over goofy even if we had similar amounts of health.
There wasn’t a single boss I didn’t like short of Dark Baymax since it felt so slow. Skoll is now my favorite heartless design finally surpassing the Wyvern from Kingdom Hearts 1.
That’s all for gameplay since I could go on and on.
Now for story stuff. SPOILERS INCOMING!
All the original story stuff for the KH characters was amazing. Anti-Aqua’s theme was so heartbreaking and beautiful and what she said as we fought made me feel like shit even though it was Mickey’s fault for leaving her there.
Vanitas’ voice is god like and his scenes are so good. Him calling Ventus and Sora a brother to him makes sense yet unsettled me with the tone he used.
ALL OF THE TRIO’S BEING REUNITED!!! I cried when Xion, Roxas and Axel hugged and cried. I was so happy they got to be together. Aqua’s reunion with Terra and Ven was also beautiful.
Xehanort’s story beats were great and the man they got to replace the late Leonard Nimoy is amazing. Sounds more sickly and dying like he should at this point.
The twist where Terranort wrecks everyone before we go back into time was a fucking shock and amazing. THEN LINGERING WILL SHOWING UP! The voice for Lingering will was amazing.
DONALD’S ZETAFLARE HOLY SHIT!
All the foreshadowing of Sora’s “Death” or “Disappearance.” Death was talked about allot and Young Xehanort even said Sora couldn’t be saved since Sora uses the power of waking so recklessly.
All the Disney characters who met organization members being sick of their shit before they even talk. Woody especially. “I bet you’ve never been loved.” and “That makes you more hollow than any toy.” My son I am so proud.
All the instagram style posts were so cute.
The epilogue was mind blowing. I knew that sarcastic sniper knew way more than he let on but him being Luxu was a fucking shock. Amazing.
And the secret ending seems to be hinting that Sora’s been given a second chance in the form of The Reaper game from TWEWY. Either its going to be DLC which Nomura said if he did decide to do he’d do free stuff and/or one big dlc that adds to the experience in a big way or the next game opens with The Reaper Game. Riku being in Verum Rex is interesting to me. Maybe he realizes Sora isn’t in the realm of light and after talking with Goofy and Donald he learns of Verum Rex and how Sora was tossed in so he goes looking for him there. And finally the Master of Masters looking at the moon and forming a heart with his hands. Is he looking for a new plain of existence for everyone to live on but before he can move people there it needs a new Kingdom Hearts? And is that what’s in the box? I’m excited to see.
All in all I love the game and would recommend it to people who want a good JRPG.
8.5/10

if you're talking crazy AUs...............what if thanos wiping out half the universe affected the star wars galaxy
ANON. YES.
This is set in the later period of The Clone Wars, right before what would have been the last events of season 5 of TCW. (I’m sorry I know this wasn’t the first prompt I got but I NEED to write this)
Also um…warning? Much character death? This is a lot darker than anything I’ve ever written. There’s always hope in the end, though! Oneshot, gen.
Not This Crude Matter
Luminous beings are we; not this crude matter.
Obi-Wan was the first to sense it.
In hindsight, it seemed only natural that he should be the only one to see it coming; in his childhood he dreamt of twin suns, and in his youth of a green lance of fire that shattered a blue-white sphere into nothing; and should the Unifying Force have continued, and time sped on uninterrupted, then he would have seen both these things for himself.
But it was coming, a rending of space-time and the Force itself, screaming, writhing, and wrong.
Obi-Wan’s voice broke off mid-order as he froze, gauntleted arm extended.
“Obi-Wan?” Anakin shouted over the rain of blaster-fire, the scream of his lightsaber suddenly overwhelming and close in the loss of Obi-Wan’s; Ahsoka’s voice behind them was lost in the thud of plasma cannons
Across the field, at the head of the advancing columns of the Separatist forces, Dooku fell still, crimson lightsaber chambered at his side.
A plasma bolt passed so close to Obi-Wan’s face that he did not hear so much as feel its searing hiss; Anakin’s shout as he leapt to defend him seemed to come from a far-off place, discordant and skewed in a cataclysmic wave that reared as it struck.
The blaster-fire stopped.
No, that was the wrong word for it; it did not stop so much as sweep into a crescendo with the oncoming storm-front, frozen forever in a scream so high-pitched and so desperate that it took Obi-Wan a long, sweat-chilled moment to understand it was the Force that was screaming.
Screaming, as the Living Force was rent apart and the Unifying erased in one inescapable, perfect storm.
On the field around him, half of the 501st and the 212th were dropped their blasters in a clattering cacophony of metal meeting rock.
Because their hands were no longer there.
And then there was a secondary rain of lightweight durasteel and plastoid alloy as the other half dropped their own DC-15s and ripped off their buckets, flinging out pleading hands only to plunge them through disintegrating chests and arms and necks, one after another until the field was filled with wailing, guttural howls.
And then they, too, started to melt away.
Above and around and within them was the ever-present and ever-building sigh of rustling, windblown leaves.
Dust, leaves, and ashes.
Obi-Wan stood frozen as the entire field of men - an ocean of candles in the Living Force - were snuffed out as cruelly and as finally as a breath from the belly of Death itself.
Cody slipped into the Force somewhere amongst his men, before Obi-Wan could even begin to reach.
Throughout it all, the Separatist forces stood silent and unmoving and as dead as the durasteel that made up its assault tanks and droids and heavy blasters.
Before them, Dooku raised his hand and watched as it dissolved into black sand, and that sand into nothing. He did not speak, but instead lifted his chin and gazed across the field at his grandpadawan; a stare that somehow bridged the scars of their lineage and the opposing sides of the war they found themselves in.
The Force flung itself across no-man’s land and the field of dying men between them; Obi-Wan inhaled sharply, tasted dust on his tongue as his grand-master’s Force-signature flickered and latched onto his mindscape.
Dooku did not speak. There was no time to do so.
There was only a strange sort of fondness echoing in the smile of a brown-haired padawan and a steady-handed master, one and the same in their shared memory.
Obi-Wan closed his eyes as Dooku’s regret washed over him, another breaker in a tide that kept rising.
“Qui-Gon always spoke very highly of you,” Dooku had once said to him in that dark holding cell on Geonosis. “I wish he were still alive. I could use his help right now.”
Obi-Wan had thought, then, that they were only the silken, twisting words of a Lost Jedi who had chosen the wrong side of a war.
He knew they were not, now.
Dooku’s lightsaber extinguished as it thudded to the ground, but what sound it made was lost in the cries of the dying and the living.
And then, somewhere behind Obi-Wan, Ahsoka screamed.
Obi-Wan whirled in place.
“Rex!” Anakin shouted, leaping forward.
Rex was on his knees, and the expression on his face was one of such young bewilderment that for that one instant before he dissolved into nothing he looked all of his twelve short years, a child soldier uncomprehending of his death.
Ahsoka flung her arms around him, and embraced only dust.
Anakin was frozen an arm’s length from her, his own gloved hand filled with a handful of grey that bled into nothing in the wind when he opened his fist.
Obi-Wan stood as a shadow and a spectre, and could only watch in numb horror.
And then-
And then.
“Obi-Wan,” Anakin murmured, faintly. His boots were blurring at the edges, as were his gloved fingers. As though an artist were watering down his outline, about to wash him from the picture, erased as though he never existed.
No.
No.
Obi-Wan’s feet moved before he was aware of it. He caught Anakin around his shoulders before he could fall, allowed the Force to pour into his former padawan’s - his brother’s - fading form. In that moment, he wished to be nothing; a window so clear and transparent that the Force could wield him as it wished, and that he would be nothing at all.
The slow fading away of Anakin’s form slowed, though it crept onward nevertheless, insidious, devastating, unstoppable.
Anakin - the furnace that never stopped burning, the hero with no fear who used to crawl into Obi-Wan’s sleeping pallet as a child when the nightmares came - gasped in a breath in Obi-Wan’s arms, raised wide eyes to meet his, and whispered, “Padmé. Comm.”
It took a precious moment for Obi-Wan to understand the significance of the statement, and he found understanding in Ahsoka’s gaze, too, knelt as she was with one hand on Anakin’s shoulder.
Obi-Wan nodded, and Anakin’s lips curved in the smallest of smiles.
Ahsoka scrabbled for Anakin’s comm, flicked it open, and pressed in a code as Obi-Wan held Anakin tighter.
Anakin shivered in his arms.
For a terrifying few seconds it seemed as though the comm channel would not open; but then in a burst of subspace static, it held.
“Anakin! I’m so glad you’re alright, the Chancellor and so many others have-”
At Padme’s voice, Anakin’s expression changed into one of such gentleness that Obi-Wan almost looked away - it was too private a moment.
“I love you,” Anakin said, breath hitching. The dust had crept up to his elbows and past his knees, now. “I love you so much.”
A pause.
“No,” Padmé said, so strongly that Obi-Wan almost believed it would stop the slow progression of death up Anakin’s limbs. This was the former queen, the Senator who should have been Chancellor.
“I love you,” Anakin repeated, no more than a susurration of air.
Padme’s voice was degenerating into sobs, now. “Don’t do this, please,” she gabbled. “Don’t- I need you here. We need you here.”
Obi-Wan inhaled sharply. Ahsoka clapped both her hands over her mouth.
Anakin’s eyes had begun to slip shut, but he seemed to force them open with the last dregs of his strength. “What?” he whispered.
“I’m pregnant, Ani. Five weeks.”
For a moment, Anakin’s face was frozen.
Then joy spread across it in a burst of starlit incandescence.
“I’m so happy,” he said, his smile wider than the sky, even as his body flickered. His eyes raised up to Obi-Wan’s - and there was such pure joy in them that Obi-Wan felt ashamed for the tears that spilled over his own.
“I’m so happy, Padme,” Anakin murmured, closing his eyes.
The Force let Anakin Skywalker go.
Obi-Wan looked down at the dust in his hands, and felt the first of his tears drip past his beard; saw it splash in a darker black against the grey. The Force was no longer speaking to him; he felt nothing. Heard nothing. Saw nothing.
Ahsoka pressed both her hands into the ground as tears slid down her cheeks.
There was something incredibly wrong about the fact that it was Ahsoka who was weeping; Ahsoka, Anakin’s brave, brave padawan, hewn of steel and verve and sass and power.
And when she was vulnerable, she was quietly strong, and enduring, and kind.
Not this. Never this.
And then her fingers, too, began to fade, melting into the hard-packed dirt.
Ahsoka stopped crying very abruptly, staring down at them.
Obi-Wan scrambled towards her.
Ahsoka looked up at him with red-rimmed eyes and said, very quietly, “It’s okay, Master Kenobi.”
The dust was at her shoulders and hips, now.
What was left of Obi-Wan Kenobi broke.
“Take me,” he screamed, though he knew it was not the Force that he screamed to, but death itself. “Take me instead-”
Death did not. Death never did; not Obi-Wan Kenobi, the steward and the watcher.
Ahsoka tumbled into nothing, and Obi-Wan knelt there, a single, brown-hooded figure in a field of dust and fallen leaves, waiting for his own end to come.
It didn’t.
Obi-Wan buried his face in his hands and howled.
By his right knee, Padmé’s sobs echoed out of Anakin’s comm. Together they made a cruel duet; and then abruptly, the channel cut off.
Silence, save for the wind and the creaking of the Separatist forces, frozen forever with their blasters trained on the single Jedi left before them.
The Force, broken as it was, curled around Obi-Wan’s shoulders.
Through it Obi-Wan saw things he did not understand.
A purple-skinned arm, and a gold gauntlet set with six glowing stones. Another world, so many light-years away that Obi-Wan trembled at the distance and weight of the years.
Even now the Force wanted something of him.
“What do you want of me?” he whispered to the Force. “I cannot go there.”
A huff of hot breath over his head.
Obi-Wan’s heart leapt into his throat as he turned his head.
A white-haired wolf bared sharp teeth down at him in a feral grin. Then it turned and offered him his back.
An inkling of legend curled in Obi-Wan’s mind, of Loth-wolves and ancient Temples, before the Order called themselves Jedi.
Oh.
The Force buoyed up under Obi-Wan’s nerveless feet, guided his hand to pick up Anakin’s comm and tuck it into his belt, and gave him strength he did not know he had to climb up on the Loth-wolf’s back.
It was warm and steady and alive, and as the wolf began loping away from the battlefield, the world blurred into another and the Force began to sing.
Perhaps the Force was leading Obi-Wan to a new war; perhaps the galaxy he knew and the Republic he served would never be the same again. But there is a lightsaber in his hand, and the Force, broken though it was, was humming in his veins.
They ran on, luminous.
END
Um. Don’t kill me? I can’t make this into a multi-chapter crossover, but this sort of spun out of control and let’s just take it that Obi-Wan went over to the MCU and gave Thanos a good pounding.
Also, whatever happens in the follow-up to Infinity War applies to the people who died here, so I’m sure Anakin, Ahsoka and the rest are ok. Spidey’s got to come back after all, right?
I’ve cross-posted this to FFN! And I promise if you’re a new reader that I write much brighter things than this. For those interested, I’ve written an Infinity War fic from Loki’s perspective, Five Choices.

Marvel’s Atlantis
This post is a collection of information about Marvel Comic’s Atlantis. (Warning: long post ahead. I have not read every comic pertaining to Atlantis yet and as such I’m only gathering things I know.)
The Gods, Goddesses, Creatures, and Relics:
Neptune: The Holy Father. Atlantean Deity, an Olympian who has the power over the all the seas and its creatures. He is father to the Atlantean race (Homo Mermanus). He is also called Poseidon. Typically depicted as an old man with a beard and blue skin like the other Atlanteans. He wields his trident which has unimaginable magic power. The Atlanteans still revere and pray to him. Favors Namor and has on occasion protected and brought him back to life as well as sends him on quests. Has once said that Namor is his favorite son and always has his blessing.
Cleito: The Holy Mother. Atlantean Deity, Mother of all things. Wife of Neptune. The pure essence of femaleness. Embodiment of Illusion, Ruler of the City of the Golden Gate (Pre-Cataclysm). Atlanteans pray to and revere her and she is said to be in all places all at once and knows what lies in the hearts of men. Has said that Namor is a child born of land and sea, that only he holds the power to accept the power of the Nexus Fragment. Has once said that Namor is her favorite son and that her blessing is always upon him.
Cleito and Poseidon had five sets of twins who became the Ten Kings of Atlantis
Evenor: Father of Cleito, Guardian of the City of the Golden Gate, Guardian of the temple of Cleito. Guardian of the Shroud of Cleito. Adviser to pilgrims who make the journey to the Lost Temple. Is depicted as a large terrifying sea creature whose head resembles that of a seahorse and has long clawed hands and glowing eyes.
Set: The Demonic Serpent God, an Elder God and creator of the race of serpent men. Worshiped by Naga a leader of Lemeriuans who broke away from the main Lemurains. Is evil and wishes to control/rule the world in his image.
The Scared Trident of Neptune: A magical Trident that grants the bearer the power over the seas. Is extremely powerful and contains great magic.
The Shroud of Cleito: The Shroud contains Gems that are interwoven into the cloth. The destiny’s of all creatures are held in the gems and the woven into the fabric of the Shroud are the souls of all past and future King’s of Atlantis.
The Amulet of Kings: A magical amulet that holds the souls of the past kings of Atlantis. It was used to transport Namor to Hell.
Crown of Empire: The royal crown of the ruler of Atlantis.
The Coral Throne: The royal throne of Atlantis.
The Serpent Crown: Created by the Serpent men as a magical tool that would allow Set to be able to enter their world. Influences the wearer to the control of Set. Found by Naga and his followers.
The Great Cataclysm: The Fall of Atlantis.
After the Great Cataclysm:
The Atlanteans: City dwellers who live in the various underwater cities in the oceans. Are often seen as the civilized ones compared to their more barbaric cousins who are more of a nomadic tribe usually lead by Attuma. There are varying stories as to how the Atlanteans came to be, some say they were always there a race of water breathers, some say that the wizards of Atlantis saw their continent sinking and used the last of their power to change their surviving people into water breathers. Atlanteans have blue skin, pointed ears, and gills on their necks. They come in varying shades of blue and some have more fish like features than others. Atlanteans also have mutants. They are a very proud race who respect the oceans, earth and all the creatures. They are susceptible to things that damage the environment, like pollution. They cannot survive out of water without a device to aid them. Devices such as water scarves, water tanks, magical pills/potions that will allow them to be able to breath air, etc. They are ruled by Namor the First.
The Lemurians: A splinter group of Atlanteans who live in the pacific/Enemy of Atlanteans/they had their own land before it also sunk below the waves.
Faceless Ones: Ancient tribe of subterranean underwater creatures. Often attacking Atlanteans.
Aqueos: Underwater Vampires. Thought to be myth.
Sirens: Atlanteans with the power to enchant their intended targets with song.
The Logomancer: Atlantean with the power to guide the magic of Atlantis/the oceans through the King to aid Atlantis. Atlantis has scientist and magicians who use technology and magic together in harmony but only the Logomancer can use it on a large scale level and has the power to let the magic flow through the King.
Trident Station: A building that is in the middle of the ocean where land dwellers can come to learn about and explore the history of Atlantis. It is meant to be a neutral meeting place for Atlanteans and Humans to work together in peace.
(Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four #24)
The History:
Before the Fall
Atlantis was not one kingdom but ten. The ten kingdoms were ruled by ten kings. Atlantis was merely the capital kingdom. Within Atlantis there was a city called the Golden Gate. It was the apex of all the wonder and beauty. Before Atlantis sunk below the waves, the event was thereafter known as the Cataclysm, it was a wonder land filled with machines and technology far beyond any civilization of the time. It was a place where miracles were common place and where Magic and Technology were used together in perfect unison. Atlantis stood at the beginning of time and no place yet has ever come close to reaching the utopia and beauty of Atlantis.
Not much is known of the Golden Age of Atlantis before the Cataclysm when it’s history was lost to time and the waves.
(Man-Thing #7-8 1997)
The Fall
Different accounts of how Atlantis fell into the sea and the City of Atlantis rose:
- There was a war between the Lemurians and the Atlanteans involving the Deviants and the Celestials. Shockwaves from a nuclear cataclysm caused Lemuria to sink into the sea along with Atlantis.
- Poseidon reveals that the reason Atlantis fell was due to its own hubris. That the rulers of the past began to grow lazy and neglectful of the city and its people. Unwilling to even fight since they believed fighting was beneath them they hired the Amazons to fight for them. Rather than pay the Amazons their fee teh council of wizards chose to kill them all. This was an Atlantis that was far from the one that stood at the beginning of time, where people were happy and lived in peace, it is unknown how many centuries passed from the Golden Age of Atlantis to the pre-cataclysm but the nation suffered as it grew corrupt from the greed of the rulers. The wizards sought more power and attempted to remake the world in their image. The magic they unleashed was far too powerful for even them to control and it ripped the continent apart and The Empire of Atlantis fell into the sea. (The Incredible Hercules #123)
What few wizards were left used their remaining magic to save the last of their race by turning them into water breathers. Over the centuries the lost and scattered people of the ocean came together to reform their nation this time in the south ocean near the south pole and the continent that is now called Antarctica. The City of Atlantis rose once more. Now ruled by a single Emperor or Empress. A descendant of Neptune’s royal blood.
- Final account is that Homo Mermanus just appeared out of nowhere in the oceans/have always been in the oceans and merely settled from a nomadic lifestyle in the ruins of Atlantis and thus became the Atlanteans.
Noteable Past/Current Royalty of Atlantis:
- The Ten Lost Kings/Queens (No one knows if the five sets of twins were all males, females, or half of each. Only that they were born of Cleito and Posiden and ruled the Ten Kingdoms of Atlantis in the golden age.)
- King Kamuu and Queen Zartra, The last rulers of Atlantis before the Cataclysm
- Empress Ritha, the only female Empress of Atlantis after it fell into the sea.
- Emperor Thakorr, Father of Fen, Grandfather of Namor, Tyrant King of Atlantis.
- Princess Fen, Daughter of Thakorr, Mother of Namor, Goddess of the Seals.
- King Namor the First, Fen-Son, The Avenging Son, The Sub-Mariner, Lord of the Seven Seas and Emperor of the Deep.
After Thakorr’s death it was said the only true King of Atlantis was the Sea-God Neptune and the current holder of the throne of Atlantis was his vessel on earth thus Namor went by the title of Prince out of respect to Lord Neptune since he is very close to his Atlantean faith.
- Princess Namora, Aquaria Nautica Neptuna, the sea beauty, the sea goddess, cousin of Namor and granddaughter of Thakorr
- Princess Namorita, Daughter of Namora, Great Granddaughter of Thakorr
Phrases commonly used by Atlanteans:
Imperius Rex!: A war cry typically uttered before battle. Mainly used by Namor.
People who live on the Surface (typically used as an insult): Lung men/people, air-breathers, surfacers, surface people, air suckers, pink skins.
Minnows: Small Atlantean children (generally babies)
Curse words/exclamations of surprise: By Neptune’s: beard, trident, etc. By the swriling saragossa, By the seven secret seas. etc.
Other Things:
Neptune Net: A large net that is pushed by dozens of Atlanteans to capture great amounts of fish.
Market: Atlanteans are seen to barter their goods and services, they have no use or need of land money. However Namor knows locations of many sunken ships and vessels that contain jewels and treasures from the past. Atlantis it is a hunter/gatherer/fishing/farming community with bartering instead of monetary exchange. There seems to be no sign of poverty or homelessness, the king takes care of his people and ensures that they need for nothing.
School: The Royal Atlantean Academy teaches the students about everything from magic to science to the history of Atlantis and more.
Police Force: The Atlantean Guards are the main police force, city guards and palace guards. Head of Security is usually Andromeda.
Tridents/Trident Team: A specialized team of warriors.
