it's so interesting to me that frost says that being ridded of the joy that comes with his memory of gricko giving him hootsie's signal whistle is a relief. like you have someone who is taught (whether by the sorcerer enclave or by his own experience) that logic should supersede emotion all the time and that you cant have emotions bog you down. and then he meets gricko and gricko is his Friend, his Only friend, and he feels real true happiness for the first time in who knows how long except he's not supposed to feel that anymore. he's not supposed to feel joy like this, or affection, or whatever it is gricko makes him feel. and when he gets relieved of that emotion by surrendering the memory to be taken as the toll, it's relieving. idk it reminds me a lot of how like growing up queer and freaking out when you have a crush on someone of the same gender and then being like relieved if you lose feelings because oh thank god, i don't have to feel that conflict anymore, i can follow the "right" path, the one i'm supposed to

I know this is probably OOC but I was thinking about BTK and how absolutely funny it would be if Bruce was like a sharpshooter prodigy.

Like, imagine Bruce all of 13 years old and obsessing over every single aspect and factor of his parents’ death, and that includes a very specific moment where that obsession pinpointed on disabling the killer before pulling the trigger turned into disassembling the handgun, and that obsession branched out to learning the ins and outs of all firearms so that he knows everything there is to know in defending against any sort projectile, as you do…

And being the epitome of unhealthy coping mechanisms, he puts himself through “exposure therapy” by going to a shooting range with Alfred’s oversight… after a few failed attempts and too many panic attacks, he finally succeeds in dissociating enough to walk in, go through the motions, and actually level the gun… and his aim is effectively perfect.

And then he refuses to pick up a gun ever again and his obsession switches to other things so it doesn’t really matter. Of course, he does his overseas training a la BTK and learns how to properly wield firearms from a teacher and he’s just amazing, but he cannot point a gun at a real living person without shutting down, never mind actually pulling the trigger.

And this never comes up ever again for the entirety of his time as Batman.

Sometimes, when a fight is really restrictive, Batman will grab the only available projectile weapon and perfectly shoot through an nigh invisible wire holding up a catwalk or something before taking apart the gun, and not a single person would question it.

Hana and Yrz are definitely regarded as supernovas. Nobody knows who Kiba (because he’s forgotten more often than not) or Masa is (doesn’t really leave survivors lol). Jeong is known more for being the captain of the sparrow pirates, because they have more control of their temper than the rest of the crew put together, so they don’t get into situations where fighting is necessary.

Basically miss g/hexpert I am thinking like. what if miss militia had the demeanor of an elementary school teacher and the sheer Presence of alexandria. I imagine she's SUPER popular with the public, she's the Face of the prime force (because. Come on. your other options are harlem shade and origami and NEITHER of them should be trusted to talk to the media on their own) . so like. on the surface she's!! friendly!! and personable!! and kids love her!! and she still has her "teaching moments" thing. and she genuinely is kind and wants to help and do the right thing but... this is worm . she's the triumvirate equivalent leader. she's seen some shit she's done some shit. her powers are actually functionally pretty similar to miss militia except instead of weapons it's Tools so... she can be BRUTAL when she needs to be. and she will be. because she understands what would happen if she wasn't. I imagine because she's the face of the prime force and she is like.... family friendly as much as that means anything in worm.. there's a bigger effort from the prt and media to kind of. cover up when she does some fucked up shit. to keep that image. and there's this silent agreement between she and Harlem that because he's openly very much more... dark and edgy. I think he takes the fall for her whenever something like that comes out. "the prime force killed x villain in cold blood" and Harlem openly says "yeah that was me. it needed to be done" so that miss g can still function as the face. harlem is rlly popular with. edgy teens. I think this probably causes some tension with Jason, not because he feels bad about lying to the public but because he doesn't want to get blamed for things he didn't do. the three of them are friends and everything but. you listened to folding paper you know how Jason is.

ANYWAY ANYWAY. I think that's most of it for now. I imagine it's a bit of a culture shock (probably mostly for dakota) to grow up seeing miss g smiling on TV only to join the wards and see things for how they really are when she. brutally dispatches an echidna style clone with ruthless efficiency using a fucking. wire garrote or something.

LOVE THIS FOR HER. BTW. she summons tools is fucking TERRIFYING, btw. tool is such a loosely defined word?? reminds me a little bit of eidolon too, ngl... like, a version of his power where she doesn't get *powers specifically*, but she gets. whatever else she needs in any situation. that goes SO HARD. there are. my mind is spiraling in so many ways thinking about how well that power fits to a multitude of scenarios. is she still hexpert?? because. there's not really any magic aesthetics involved?? or is she just expert......... that doesnt sound as cool. idk. maybe it does? you could do some fun branding with that. always call the expert. etc. anyway this is really good i love the facade of it all... she genuinely is good and kind and wants to do right!! it's just. impossible to do that and keep your hands clean sometimes. the dynamic btwn the prime force here is so compelling also. give them a complicated at times strained but still genuine friendship!

I really did not expect how early the idea of "inflict Human Face Disease on Yong'an" would come up. I thought Bai Wuxiang would suggest it as revenge after the war! Bai Wuxiang didn't even say in as many words that Xie Lian should inflict it - he told Xie Lian how this outbreak happened, and Mu Qing first brought up turning it on Yong'an in as many words. (Mu Qing was basically picking up Bai Wuxiang's implications, I'm not saying it was Mu Qing's idea. Mostly I'm saying I'm surprised Mu Qing and Feng Xin were even there to give their input on this matter in particular)

Just got to episode 158 of the Magnus archives. And I'm just so baffled by Martin being clever enough to play Peter like a cheap kazoo, but somehow not clever enough to guess that Peter would toss him into the lonely the second his deception was revealed. Peter has one (1) method of escaping unfortunate social situations, and it's murder*. It really seems like you could have seen that one coming.

This is, to be honest, perhaps the most Eye thing Martin has done in his entire life. He just had to know what Peter was really up to, didn't he? No need to worry about unimportant things like escape routes or actually having a chance to utilize the information he's uncovered. It would have been one thing if he'd been secretly broadcasting the conversation to the others, so that someone else could benefit from his heroic sacrifice. But no. This entire little plan of his accomplished actually nothing.

It's like he legitimately expected Peter and Elias to answer all of his questions and then let him run back to Jon without issue, in the exact same breath that he demonstrated that he really should be too smart to expect that to work.

I just. What was the goal here? Martin is such a poor strategist for being such a brilliant tactician. He schemes like I play chess, understanding how to utilize all the peices and pretty good at responding to whatever nonsense the opponent is trying to pull but with no idea whatsoever how to secure a checkmate. He can play the game. He can even play it well. But he seems utterly unable to determine which schemes will lead to any sort of long term advantage, and which are just a huge waste of time, and he's mostly playing it by ear.
