I hate it pls take it back i don't want quick access to an ai I don't want a boring oval for a battery I don't want my notifications so big I don't want the settings to be so hard to swipe to I don't want all my widgets to look different TAKE IT BACK PLS

im about to flip my fucking lid, dude. my phone forced an update that has made my ui like an iphone and has force installed a bunch of ai shit i cannot remove. i now have 'bixby' and 'gemini' installed and i cannot remove them, only disable them. and also 'galaxy ai' which has no opt out or anything, its just fucking there in my settings.

if i wanted an iphone i would have bought one. if i wanted ai features i would have bought a device that had the capability. im genuinely considering swapping back to a flip phone and a laptop. stop forcing these things on me!!!!

maybe this isn't a hot take but system files should not be allowed to take up 30% of the advertised storage on your device

I get that 32gb isn't exactly massive anymore and I don't know much about operating systems

but surely you can fit all the necessary parts of an android into less than 10 gigs

now my samsung galaxy tab a is by no means a new device, I think it's about four or five years old and hadn't gotten an update in probably a year now

but at this point I'm not sure if it's slowing down because of age or because the system files are intentionally bloating my storage

it said 9.51gb yesterday

There was a new galaxy software update for samsung users, so if you've just updated, be sure to check that the galaxy ai features were not sneakily turned back on (like mine were)

Oh, and a portion of the settings app called it 'advanced intelligence' instead of artificial, so that's great. A flip phone is sounding mighty tempting again.

I looked through the manufacturer's specs, it appears my phone doesn't support eSIM for some fucking reason. Would have been nice if it did; or if I had been told that earlier.

I also went digging around the website, apparently they do provide some text you can paste into some settings menu if you search long enough.

I've got a Samsung s22 ultra :) honestly I have a lot of beef with the cameras/software on it. Samsung has some weird like post photo taking editing it does like it adds HDR and increases texture and shit often like, for instance, it makes flapjack look Extra Textured when he is Regular Textured in real life and looks Regular Textured in the photo preview. It also struggles to focus with the front camera in even slightly low light like just constantly refocuses when nothing is being moved to prompt it to need to.

sorry I know you didn't ask for a full review, but I honestly preferred my note 10+. I also know they've done AI kind of things without user permission/without a setting to turn it off with moon photos in particular and I don't think they've done away with that. which I don't care about that as a feature that can be turned off but uh, as someone who is very familiar with and comfortable with dslrs and photo editing and like having control of at LEAST the editing process, I wanna be able to turn it off.

so yeah I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately.
