I will probably never be able to sew anything remotely related to formal garments, but at least this weekend I made a t-shirt and a pair of comfortable pants for myself. And even though there are small mistakes, I am quite happy with the result.

I haven’t done any new digital art lately, I did however make a new puppet!
This is Bonko the goblin, dressed in the potato sack rags he tailored himself
It is my first soft body puppet, I wanted him to travel well, since he is coming with me to D&D group I host. I based the pattern on the free Snoof pattern on the Puppet Nerd site

We made a reusable flax-filled heat pad for a friend recovering from surgery! We hope they get a lot of use out of it, but not more than they need to!

Late posting: For Halloween I was the Starbucks green slime cup that was impossible to find/buy because scalpers are scum on earth that deserve all the pain possible.
Some progress pictures of the hand sewing and slapdash beading of pearls and sequins. The drip effect was done with acrylic paint. Originally meant to include a straw but this worked for the time being.

I did some sewing / upcycling today and made a new project bag for my knitting. As outer layer I used fabric from an old office skirt and jersey fabric of an earlier sewing project as lining. I didn't use any interfacing because I wanted the bag not too bulky. However, I need to find something else to use as a drawstring cord.
.
The overall shape / pattern is inspired by the "Prue" project bag as shown in a YouTube video by snaply.de ( youtu.be/If5uaq6_-hk ).

The Ultimate Guide to Heavyweight Fusible Interlining: Everything You Need to Know
This article explains Heavyweight fusible interlining as a type of interfacing used in garment construction to provide extra support and structure. Unlike other types of interlining, heavyweight fusible interlining is designed to add considerable strength to fabrics, making it ideal for projects that require a firm, sturdy finish.

This interlining fabric is bonded to the outer fabric using heat and pressure, which helps maintain the shape and structure of the garment. It’s especially useful in tailoring and other high-stress garment areas like collars, cuffs, and lapels.
This article also explains in selecting the appropriate heavyweight fusible interlining involves considering several factors:
Fabric Type: Match the interlining to your outer fabric’s weight and texture to achieve the best results. For instance, use a heavier interlining for thick wool and a lighter one for cotton.
Garment Purpose: Determine the level of stiffness and support needed based on the garment’s function and design.
Interlining Weight: Choose a weight that complements your fabric and desired garment structure.
It also highlights some best results for heavyweight fusible interlining, such as:
Pre-Wash Your Fabric: Pre-wash both the outer fabric and interlining to prevent shrinkage and ensure proper adhesion.
Use Proper Heat Settings: Apply the interlining using the correct heat setting on your iron to ensure it bonds properly without damaging the fabric.
Press, Don’t Iron: Use a pressing motion rather than ironing to avoid shifting the fabric or causing wrinkles.
Check Bonding: Test the bonding on a fabric scrap to ensure that the interlining adheres correctly and that you achieve the desired effect.
Heavyweight fusible interlining is a vital component in creating durable, well-structured garments. Understanding its benefits, applications, and proper usage can make a significant difference in the quality of your sewing projects. By choosing the right type of interlining and applying it correctly, you can enhance the durability, appearance, and longevity of your garments.
Happy sewing!

so i discovered today that i can Pin on my ironing board.
I'm defenately behind self made schedule for the ball gown now thanks to sickness and family matter, but as long as I finish the corsett and petticoat before the end of July, I should be able to get the rest done.
Biggest concern is still the fabric for both the top and overcoat; I really want to do them in a DARK purple, but If Internet results are an indicator, there's either No, only shitty, or way too expensive fabric in that colour :/
#moonlight tales#sewing#sewingproject#historicalfashion#tbh I'm still Not Sure™ if i took the measuremts correctly#I mean i could've Just bought a corsett and be done and could concentrate on the actually ball gown#but where would be the fun in that
