(photos of solar panel covered shade structures over parking lots. The lower right one is being cleaned by workers on a bucket crane using a ginormous hi-tech squeegie.)
Look, now that we've moved beyond the hypothetical, with "new normal" heat waves of 110° for several days in a row, shaded parking places are the best. And they power lots of recharging stations for our plug-ins and EVs .

"For the last time, that poem isn't romantic! It's insulting," Revati yelled over her shoulder as she began to pedal.
The layout of Olde Landon had been deliberately designed to keep tourists inside for as long as possible. There was only one way to access the front gates, and that involved defeating the Queen of Hearts' hedge maze. When the park was still open, tourists would be forced to spend at least an hour in the maze, stumbling upon tiny toy shops and food stands around every corner. The same thing occurred when they left, resulting in a very rich park and bankrupt guests. Now the maze was overgrown and easy enough to navigate.
Revati pedaled past the cart that once sold her heart-shaped sunglasses. Then she turned left, almost crashing into the wall of roses. The wall of roses stared back at her, their red blooms heavy and suspicious. Thanks to Bridgadeiro, she knew they were probably secretly insulting her.
The next turn consisted of an old stardust popcorn stand. Revati skidded to a stop and inspected the inside tray, where a few ancient kernels lay. Carefully, she picked up several of them and placed them in her jacket pocket. As far as she could tell, the kernels were seeds. Someone was shifting around the corner, causing the branches to shake.
"Aurora, is that you? Did you go ahead of me?" Revati yelled.
"While conferring in the labyrinth where false preachers reeked of death, the monster began to growl," a voice called from around the corner. An unfamiliar, flat female voice. Raiders. Raiders were, of course, an occupational hazard in any post-apocalyptic settlement. Normally, they never made it further than the broken glass pit at the park's gates. Sometimes Dityaa would bring one in, insisting they were "lovely," which always led to awkward dinners.
Revati slowly walked around the maze corner. There was a screeching metallic sound, and the weapon fell from Revati's hand. An android was slumped over on the ground. Once it would have been golden, but now it was rusty and covered in mud. Someone had ripped its legs off, leaving nothing but wires and tubes spitting bright blue fluid. Instead of a torso, there was a black empty hole with a concave door swinging on its bent hinges.
"And in the forgotten twists, footsteps quicken, hearts beat, and teeth are bared," the android chirped, its voice still distorted and far away. The android's face was a beautiful mask. Still-carved eyes. Unmoving sweet lips.
Revati powered up her solar gun and slowly walked forward, aiming it at the android. The android's metal eyes scraped in their sockets, turning towards her.
“Is that you? My darling Perdita?” The android’s voice whispered, the lips unmoving. The whispering voice had a posh lilt to its accent. Revati refused to answer. It was best to never engage with AI.
“Perdita, I clawed my way in! They know about you; the spider knows,” the android whispered before collapsing completely.
Revati slowly walked forward, still holding her weapon. With one foot, she kicked the android. It didn’t move. Its power had definitely died.
“Spider? Is that some sort of gang?” Revati whispered to herself. Gangs were always given stupid names.
“The spider is us; the spider is legion,” a flat robotic voice called out, and Revati spun around.
Queen Victoria was standing behind her, scorch marks all over her dress. A faint blue glow was erupting from beneath the skin of Queen Victoria’s chest.

Hiya, I've been looking around all day on Tumblr today. I've hit a state of wanting to reorganize our SP just enough to look cohesive but still allow alters to be creative with their profiles. We all absolutely love the movie Treasure Planet. Would there be a chance you could do a simple SP folder layout, dividers, and anything else you would want to add? If you can't do just Treasure Planet we are more than happy to accept space-themed items!
Thank you and we hope you take care of yourself, drink water, take meds, and focus on yourself as you need to <3 /p
I'm sorry this took a bit! but I hope this fits what you wanted :]
I ended up doing a space theme as I wasn't sure how to do a treasure planet theme admittedly
Feel free to recolor parts of this if wanted & I'm sorry for the lack of showcase of the dividers , I just wasn't sure how to do that. Also be warned this was not designed for pretty organization since I was not sure if that was wanted at all

@anonymocha tumblr will screw the layout(?) look if I directly answer through the askbox so I'm doing it like this
anyways

guess who locked theirself in just for this

soooo- yah. hi.
lil fun fact, I wanted to gijinka this one very cool thing I have on my car (it's solar-system display alike) BUT I LOST THE THING BECAUSE MY PARENTS TEAR IT APART INTO PARTS AND SOME THE PARTS ARE LOST💔💔 so I took this bouquet cat doll thing I gave for my sis since it gives me an interesting idea,
and you can tell my designing skill is so ASS the woes of being a plain basic fanartist 2 years non-stop💔 all I can do is giving new concepts/ideas from an available thing (which I think everyone is able to do that)🤕 but whatever I made and there's an attempt

I did a lot of concept arts before drawing this one. the ones I showed below isn't the first but closest one with what I ended up.

in the middle of drawing this I remember I have an old gijinka that SHOULD'VE been the only thing I drew for this idea but I ended up doing both so whatever I'm stupid and love torturing myself like that /hj
behold,
araquarts pk2 gijinka
I actually want to butcher the design I did in the past and make a fresh new one but tbh this still looks alright ig

also doodles came from my goofy thought, what if they're friends heahehahehahwhhehahhehe

I supposed to titled this their "first meeting" but I deleted the canvas before doing that
that's all! you also can tell I got too silly (or serious?) over this drawing idea to the point I only draw them and these this month gagsywhehahwhhehshjahw lird
#kiswoodles#character design#character concept#oc concept#not like the cat flower gal will be my oc I just did this for fun#but dunno let's see#I did got attached to her at some point that's why I draw her a lot#my beautiful princess with disorder probably..#postknight 2#if you found this post through the tag trust me there's smth pk2 related down there#askbox#k that's all idk what more to tag this#you're ok to send more reqs but I'll most likely to do it very late since I've eureka-d art ideas rn#and I'd rather fanart of smth it's far more easier to me🙏designing is very much my weakness and it rlly explodes my head to think abt sorz

Low Voltage Switchgear for Commercial Buildings: Key Requirements, Standards, and Best Practices

In the construction and modernization of commercial buildings, low voltage switchgear plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power distribution. From office complexes and retail malls to hospitals and data centers, these buildings rely on robust electrical infrastructure — and low voltage switchgear is the backbone of that system.
Whether you’re an electrical panel manufacturer, a building contractor, or a facility manager, understanding the key requirements for selecting and integrating LV switchgear in commercial buildings is essential.
What Is Low Voltage Switchgear?
Low voltage switchgear is an assembly of electrical devices designed to control, protect, and isolate electrical circuits under 1,000V AC. It typically includes:
· Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs)
· Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs)
· Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs)
· Contactors and Relays
· Busbars
· Metering and Protection Devices
Why LV Switchgear Is Critical in Commercial Buildings
Commercial buildings demand:
· Continuous power availability
· High energy efficiency
· Electrical safety for occupants
· Scalability for future expansion
Low voltage switchgear delivers:

This lot is uploaded as a gym, but it also meets the onsen bathhouse requirements. Once again, it's limited to expansion packs only. It's meant to go on the 5-6-1 Shirinyoku lot in Mt. Komorebi, aka the 20x15 lot occupied by the Nishidake family in Senbamachi. Place with moveobjects on. EA ID: ursalot. Floorplan and a ton of rambles under the cut, as well as substitution notes for Discover University. Also, there's links to things I was looking at for architecture references and design inspiration.
Pack substitutions! The only item from Discover University was a shower divider. The cleanest substitution is obviously the frosted divider from the Sleek Bathroom Kit that literally just came out, however, for a more realistic substitute, I'd recommend the Snowy Escape shower divider.
As far as inspiration, this wasn't based on a given building or set of images, although I did reference the bathhouse at the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum. In general, that's an amazing source for historic Japanese architecture because you can take 3D tours of the buildings on their website. Also, if you somehow haven't found them, I recommend watching Yukihyo. Watching their "Japanese Retro Sento" video was useful to see an example of a Japanese person's imagination of a classic bathhouse in the Sims 4, even though we have very different build styles.
This build is honestly kind of weird because I always knew it would be a bathhouse/gym, even though I didn't have any inspiration for it, because I've been mulling over a personal remodel of Mt. Komorebi and that seemed like a necessity. (I happen to like having saves take place almost entirely in one or two worlds, because taking what would be a 12 hour flight in reality to use a gym feels odd.) Plus, I knew it would be on that 20x15 lot, because I have vague plans for the other lots in that neighborhood. Form very much followed function on this one.
Most of the first floor layout honestly wouldn't have been my ideal, as I built separate men's and women's facilities, including doors that are locked in-game to reflect that. I don't normally do that in Sims 4, since the characters in the game don't care, and I have *mumble* feelings on gendered spaces in real life personally, but looking at bathhouses in Japan, they're gendered, and the only reason the bath in this build isn't gendered is due to 1) space constraints and 2) the fact that sometimes that can be legal under specific circumstances.
On the other hand, there was a lot of joy in discovery on this lot. I used a ton of items I normally forget about, including that divider from Discover University. I knew from the start that I wanted this building to be older, since I can't imagine there's a ton of pressure for new bathhouses these days, given that even micro apartments come with showers and often baths. Hot spring resorts, sure, probably. Bathhouses, eh. So I had a ton of fun using old-fashioned wallpapers and decoration. I imagine the outside last had major work in the '60s, and the inside in the '80s. Obviously it's been maintained, and they've updated things, like the showers and the toilets, and they've added in a solar water heating system to reduce gas costs, but the bones are old. The gym, on the other hand, is another business renting space. I'm assuming the bathhouse had that room, and maybe it was used for storage and staff space, but the business is pulling in less money, so renting it made sense. And it's great for the gym because their members can just go downstairs to shower and bathe afterwards.
Finally, towards the end of the build I decided that this neighborhood of Mt. Komorebi has building limitations to preserve the historical nature of the area. It's in what would be a tourist-oriented economy (winter sports, pristine nature, charming local festivals and traditions), and most of the debug neighborhood buildings are fairly uniform, but not in a way that resembles Japanese architecture post-WWII. A surprising amount seem to be modeled after Kyoto, which has very strict preservation regulations. This wouldn't be as intense, but some of the buildings are probably listed, and I'd bet that there are strict rules on façade colors, building height, and advertising prominence.

hey, something i've been struggling with recently is i've been struggling with "finding my people" because i'm a minority in my hometown, and a lot of people... aren't. they don't understand me, and often when i try to get them to understand they seem like they fall back into the old systems they were traumatized with (elitism, classism ect.,). 1/2 -solidarity anon

Im gunna say this at the top, this is so rough and im so sorry you gotta go through this sweetie. We are so isolated and filtered into categories within our current system in order to keep that isolation and to fight solidarity and unity. Now I cannot know for 100% sure what your going through or the extend your suffering. But will say I am from and currently still live in a oil loving, god fearing, anti-LGBT, and very racist city while i was raised wiccan by a poly core family and all my gay aunts/uncles and have been dreaming of an earthship my whole life plus every summer id be stuck in an even more harsh farming community that was so small they gotntheir first street light when i was 9 and the chruch is also town hall (mayor works in a wing off of the building). So there is at least some overlap in the experiences your having.
But that being said, how I got weirdly connected to people and involved in so many projects and stuff might not work for you.
Personally? I just yelled and yelled about the injustice of the system at work, about cool forestry projects and people buying ghost towns to start up Co-loving villages. Sharing discworld and different philosophers with coworkers backed up by their fave hobby. About how terrible the conservative politics are. About how cool transit could be if we funded it. About community art projects and how cool solar glass would make things look. About drags shows and events and did you know there is A SOUP FESTIVAL? I'm autistic and have only really interacted my whole childhood with friends with ADHD so my brain is weird and won't shut up once it starts going.
As a result of my ramblings, I have gotten a lot of responses mostly ones that are positive since if they didn't agree with my absurdist philosophy ramblings or solar project ideas they'd just leave the coffee shop. If they enjoyed it, say they want to join a community garden/event or if someone was as stoked as I was about again UNLIMITED TASTINGS SOUP FESTIVAL than we'd chat about that. The thing is a lot of these things have overlap. Someone who wants to convert their lawn into a pollinators habitate prob also likes little libraries and as a result prob also likes the idea of dark sky street lights. And down the rabbit hole you go.
That being said... my best actual advice is 2 pronged.
RESEARCH and REACH OUT
I personally have done years worth of research on my city. What local events and politics are happening? Even in rural places there is at least garderns, there's engineers, there's usually a LGBT focused club. And from these spaces, you can build a network. Doing research I found out about 5 different organizations in my city (most of which was founded 40 yrs ago??) That where sustainability focused. Doing research made me realize how cool community associations could be and how I could help mine out. It also gives you all those ideas for convos.
Second, I reached out to those groups about weird ideas I had, about if I could hang up posters for them in my local area, if I could buy groups worth of tickets in advance, and than also reaching out to the ppl I already talked to and had these ppl interact. My fave example of this is T. T is an engineer who built a fully functioning solar car during his degree program but specializes in hydroponics (how we ended up talking was over plants) he than gets shown my fave farm near by and now he's building the farms hydro system and Seedling house. Writing in to newsletter ppl and showing off weird layout design. This is ultimately very anxiety indusing. What if I'm bothering them? Why should I be spamming them like this? But the secret here is-
No one will ever be mad about you showing interest in their interest once you find those ppl. They want the interaction just as much as you do.
#sprout guide#solarpunk#community#hopepunk#connecting is so hard and swallowing differences that might seem hostile is so hard#asks#if you need more direct answers id need a more accurate idea how small/area if the place you live in sadly#so this is v broad#but feel free to DM me bout it with more details if you want

Alright, I have been thinking about spaceships!!
Basic premise, we don't have light speed tech so it's all within the solar system. Moons and some planets are terraformed, there are space stations, so on. I haven't designed anything with fake gravity, so the ships would need to handle gravity and zero grav in space. That's mostly fixtures though, the structure is fairly unchanged I reckon, cos it does all still need to work in gravity. Because of that, the engines are taking up a bit of space. And i've tried to leave some dead space in the ship cos i'm sure i'll come up with more scientific necessities, like I'm already thinking about constantly having to create fuel to burn to leave orbit.
Other thing, this ship has to work in three ways. One, space flight/leaving orbit stuff. Two, can park on solid ground and has a functional trade door. Three, has some way of fishing while hovering over the open ocean. That's why every ship has a "fishing" zone for the fishing part of things. They're all at the bottom of the ship, obvs.
Also, you'll probably get this from my writing the pros and cons, but this is for a romance that just happens to be set in space lol
First of all, the UFO

Basic UFO design premise. One big wide disc, on one level.
Pros: I can fuck around with the design on the one level pretty freely, and don't need to commit to shit For example, storage and rooms should def swap cos rooms can have windows then. This can have whole areas the pov character doesn't go to very easily. Open plan means secrets and privacy are harder to have, encourages drama.
Cons: The design doesn't make sense against like air drag and leaving orbit. It' so not aerodynamic. Maybe it takes off at a 90 degree angle, so like every room has a take off chair fitted to the wall cos it's gonna flip to its side. Okay, that's kinda fun, this shouldn't be in the con line anymore but whatever. It's a good example that all cons can be overcome x
Second, let's look at the Slice

Pros: Small and intimate. There's less rooms so everyones sharing a room with another shift, which gives everyone a unique friendship with one person on another shift schedule. Can't hang out in your room, so gotta see other people, encourage interaction. Tbf, I can make that happen in the other designs if I decide it's too cool to skip
Cons: also not aerodynamic. Very good in space or staying in gravity. Maybe it has another way it sorta collapses in to leave orbit, like the angle bit on the hangy downy slides up to be more like an arrow head. Yeah alright, there' another con that's become a cool pro. Actual con! Not having your own room lessens how easy it is to have sex. Although i guess the shifts undo that, cos you wouldn't want to risk waking the person who's got the room rn. Could be a fun pro as secret sex is much harder to do. Ugh
The Ball

Pros: Hysterical. Quite a bit of space. Confusing layout gives you nooks and crannies to bump into someone in a sexual tension way. Aerodynamic enough i guess? Fucking wild looking, it's just a big ol ball. I could redesign this a bit to be like a luxury yacht that's been refitted to be a fishing boat, which'd add some fun world building stuff. And some crazy down time options
Cons: This feels the most disjointed to me really. And it would be so damned hard to build. Oh, the multi level idea, which i kinda forget when drawing, is that 1B would be accessible through floor holes in the 2C corridors. They probably dont line up cos I forgot about it. Actually, they kinda nearly do. Cool.
Here's a poll so you can choose lol. I'll do another poll in reblogs with some of the features so you can suggest what you think is the most important feature, if you really want to have a say! I love feedback and brainstorming, so please, bring your heart <3

Switchgear for Solar and Wind Projects in Bahrain: What You Need to Know
As Bahrain intensifies its commitment to renewable energy, solar and wind power projects are gaining momentum across the Kingdom. The nation’s Vision 2030 emphasizes sustainable growth, and this includes an ambitious target of generating 10% of electricity from renewable sources by 2035. As developers and investors gear up for this energy transition, one component plays a critical role in ensuring system safety, reliability, and efficiency — switchgear.
In this article, we explore why switchgear is crucial in solar and wind power systems, the specific requirements in Bahrain, and how to choose the right solution for your renewable energy project.
What is Switchgear and Why Does it Matter?
Switchgear is a general term covering a wide range of electrical devices used to isolate, protect, and control electrical circuits. It includes circuit breakers, fuses, relays, disconnectors, and load break switches.
In renewable energy systems, switchgear ensures:
· Safe disconnection of faulty or overloaded circuits
· Protection against overcurrent, short-circuit, and earth faults
· Efficient control and monitoring of power flow
· Coordination with grid and off-grid systems
Renewable Energy Growth in Bahrain
Bahrain’s sunny climate and strong coastal winds make it an ideal location for solar PV and wind power installations. Recent government initiatives — such as the Net Metering Scheme, Tendered Renewable Projects, and Green Building Regulations — are creating opportunities for both utility-scale and distributed renewable energy systems.
However, environmental factors such as high temperatures, humidity, and dust pose challenges for electrical equipment, particularly in outdoor solar and wind sites. This makes the right choice of switchgear even more important.
Key Switchgear Considerations for Solar Projects
In photovoltaic (PV) installations, switchgear must be compatible with DC (direct current) as well as AC (alternating current) systems. Here are specific points to consider:
1. DC Switchgear for PV Arrays
· DC Disconnectors: Isolate individual PV strings for maintenance or emergency shutdowns.
· DC Fuses and Circuit Breakers: Protect cables and components from over currents.
· String Combiner Boxes: Integrate multiple PV strings and incorporate protective devices.
2. AC Switchgear for Inverter Output
· Low-Voltage Circuit Breakers (AC): Used between inverters and transformers or grid connection points.
· Load Break Switches: Offer safe disconnection under load conditions.
· Metering and Monitoring Units: Allow real-time tracking of power output and faults.
3. Environmental Protection
· Use switchgear with IP65-rated enclosures to protect against dust and water ingress.
· UV-resistant materials are vital for long-term durability under the Bahraini sun.
Switchgear in Wind Energy Systems
Wind energy systems involve varying voltage levels and require robust protection due to fluctuating wind speeds and mechanical loading. Key switchgear elements include:
1. Medium Voltage Switchgear
· Used for interconnection between wind turbines and step-up transformers.
· SF6 or Vacuum Circuit Breakers: Provide arc quenching and insulation under high voltage.
2. High-Speed Protection
· Wind turbines are sensitive to voltage dips and transients. Fast-acting relays and breakers prevent equipment damage.
· Reactive power control and grid fault detection are integrated into switchgear assemblies.
3. Compact, Modular Designs
· Space constraints inside turbine towers or nacelles demand compact switchgear solutions with modular layouts.
Bahrain-Specific Compliance and Standards
To ensure your switchgear meets local utility and regulatory requirements, consider the following:
· EWA (Electricity & Water Authority) Requirements: All grid-connected systems must comply with EWA’s interconnection standards, including protection schemes and disconnection devices.
· IEC Standards: Switchgear must comply with relevant IEC 60947 (low-voltage switchgear) and IEC 62271 (high-voltage switchgear) guidelines.
· Thermal Rating and Ambient Temperature: Switchgear should be rated for continuous operation at temperatures up to 50°C, common in Bahraini summers.
Choosing the Right Switchgear Partner
A successful renewable energy project hinges on choosing a reliable switchgear partner. Look for:
· Local experience in Bahraini environmental and regulatory conditions
· Customizable solutions for both rooftop and utility-scale systems
· After-sales support including spares, maintenance, and system upgrades
· Smart switchgear with digital monitoring for preventive maintenance and remote control
Future Trends in Switchgear for Renewables
As solar and wind systems grow more advanced, so does switchgear technology. Key trends include:
· Digital Switchgear: Real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and IoT integration
· Arc-Resistant Designs: Enhanced safety for personnel in substations
· Eco-Friendly Alternatives to SF6: Adoption of green gases and air-insulated switchgear
· Hybrid AC/DC Systems: With growing battery storage and hybrid plants, switchgear must handle both current types seamlessly
Conclusion
Whether you’re planning a rooftop PV installation or a wind farm in Bahrain, your switchgear solution must be robust, compliant, and tailored to the region’s unique challenges. By choosing the right switchgear system, you ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term safety.
