1 STEVEN GRANT ROGERS ON ICE PLEASE- A CAPTAIN AMERICA HEADCANON

It always irks me to think of Steve being found in the ice.

Because think about it.

He's trapped in ice. In a coma for over 70 years and is essentially at the mercy of whoever finds him. Sure, in the MCU it's some researchers (I think) who eventually turn him over to SHIELD which is technically under the command of Nick Fury who is a "good guy" for all intents and purposes.

But it's so scary to think about someone else finding him.

Like HYDRA- which was SHIELD in the end I guess as we found out in CATWS. But what if someone like Doom found him? Or Kilgrave? Imagine illegal dealers finding him and selling him on the black market to powerful adversaries like Kingpin? Villains who would pay top dollar to buy Captain America- THE super soldier.

They could have all kinds of uses for him. Mind fuck him and have him do their bidding, just like HYDRA did with Bucky. Create the ultimate stealth weapon. Imagine all the twisted and perverted things they could do to him. The power trip they'd be on, having Steve Rogers at their mercy. There's no end to what they would do to him. All the ways they'd experiment on him to try and make an army of super soldiers.

And before you say, well that's exactly what they did to Bucky, no, it's not the same. Because HYDRA had Bucky for decades. Steve's just coming out of the ice. He won't know who to trust. Hell, he could've easily been recruited by HYDRA if it was that easy for SHIELD to commission him. He doesn't know anyone in this new world. They'd exploit it.

Kingpin would have him run drug shipments, weapons and humans out of Hell's Kitchen. Kilgrave would probably use him as a sex slave (that's his thing in the comics) or use him for his own criminal aspirations. HYDRA would create another Winter Soldier. Doom would experiment on him for his own benefit.

My whole point is, the premise of Steve being alone in the ice is a scary one when you think about how easy it was to just not tell SHIELD "hey, we found Captain America." The MCU is a perfect world and timeline when compared to reality. People would foam at the mouth to sell an unconscious Steve Rogers on the black market. Of course they would, he's CAPTAIN AMERICA. He'd probably sell for billions.

That's what makes it so terrifying.

Off The Record - literally my second favorite fanfic of all time, out of all the fandoms I've ever read about. Peter is the badass he should be in all the fics and the plot is SO good and the characterizations are perfect and just oh my god it's so good. The fight scenes?? Best shit I've ever read. It's Spideypool, not mcu Peter obviously, that would be pedophilia, and they're so fucking adorable. The mystery?? AHHHHHHHH SO GOOD. Just read it, you will never be the same, I promise you.

After Ororo's lightning and Clint's trick arrows have made an inevitable mess of the rainbow decoration while taking out the enemies one by one, Synch lights up the street with his powers for a few hours of celebration instead, before the four of them leave for the nearest motel room for celebrating yet another victory.
