Whump prompts
I've decided to collect all of the mostly humorous ideas I've shared so far (and some that have been stuck in my notes for a while) in a single post. 1. Whumper: I'm going to make you cry. Whumpee: Sure, but I once cried because of a lost umbrella, so don't oversell yourself.
2. Whumper, after the Whumpee broke a rule: You never learn. Whumpee: Probably why I kept failing my exams. 3. Whumpee, pulling away from the Whumper: No! Whumper: If you just answer my questions, I'll stop. Whumpee: No. Whumper: Do you know any other word other than "no"? Whumpee, with a ghost of a smile: No? 4. Whumper: Any other witty remarks? Whumpee: Not at the moment, but give me like half an hour and I'll come up with something. 5. Whumper, doing a classic chin tilt. Whumpee, pulling away: Stop it! I am very self-conscious about my chin. 6. Whumpee: No, it wasn't a Vietnam flashback. I've never even been to Vietnam! 7. Whumpee: Maybe you should try using a carrot instead of a stick. Whumper: But… there's a limit to how hard you can hit someone with a carrot. 8. Whumper, fuming after being deceived. Whumpee: You see, I am friends with Caretaker, and I do know where they are. The location I gave you though? Completely fake. It's not my fault you suck at "Two truths and a lie." 9. Whumper: You're slipping. Whumpee: Am I? Last I checked, my feet were planted firmly on the ground. 10. Okay, but like, defiant whumpees that are gagged, so they have to air their frustration nonverbally Whumper: "Stop rolling your eyes, or I'll scratch them out!" "Hey! No grunting, unless you're in pain." "Was that a sigh? Am I boring you that much?" 11. Whumpee, after Whumper's threat fell flat: Man, you're terrible at this. How did you even get this job? Through relatives? 12. Whumper: You're going to regret that. Whumpee: Oh, absolutely. But that's for the future me to worry about. 13. Whumper: Are you expecting someone to save you? Whumpee: Nah, I'm not a Christian. 14. Whumper: Come on, bark like the dog you are. Whumpee: Meow. And now for some new ideas: 15. Whumper: We have other methods of persuasion. Whumpee: Oh come on! If you're going to torture me, just say it. No need for euphemisms. 16. Whumpee: Ever heard of Sunk Cost Fallacy? The longer this goes on, the less willing I am to cooperate. 17. Whumper: You're forgetting yourself. Whumpee: On the contrary, I remember quite a lot about myself. 18. Whumper, threatening: I can buy you ten times over. Whumpee: And yet you'll never own me.

Any clue how I could watch Murderbot as a Canadian? Want to, but the process seems intimidating.
An annoying part of American cultural egocentrism is that things that are only available in the States never think to MENTION this.

time for my monthly mp3 player propaganda post!
yall. don't fucking stream music off of youtube or spotify. they pay their creators shit. the most generous estimate i could find was artists being paid $1 for every 200 streams (0.5¢ per stream), and unless you're listening to songs on an album thousands times in total, it helps tremendously more to just. buy their albums or subscribe to a patreon-like service for them
mp3 players are laughably inexpensive (you can get a decent one with bluetooth for like $40-50 and you can get away with even less if you forego some features), many of them are drag-and-drop, no ads, decent enough sound quality for the average person, unlimited skips, track selection, regular play and shuffle, playlists, being able to shut off your screen, and more importantly, ALL OF THIS IS AVAILABLE WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION. i've always been an avid hater of subscription models. there are some things where it's understandable, but you shouldn't lose access to basic QOL features just because you can't or won't fork over $10-15 a month.
"b-b-but $50 is so expensive!" WRONG. $50 (which is more than i've EVER spend on a single mp3 player) is the equivalent to 5 months on spotify premium without discounts. if you can afford that, it's worth investing into a device that can last you literal years if you get a good one and take good care of it
"but i don't wanna carry around another device!" fair enough, but these things are small enough to fit in tiny pockets (mine fits snugly in the watch pocket of my jeans) and are typically light enough to not be burdensome. if you can carry around your phone, you can carry around an mp3 player
"what if people think i'm weird for having outdated technology" let them. it's worth it in my opinion if it means i get to listen to music ad-free. the most I've ever gotten was "wooooah bro's got the dinosaur tech" and i just thought that was funny personally
"but what if the artist collapses without a constant stream of money!!! i'm not supporting the artist!!!!!" companies try to pay as little as they can get away with to artists. most of that money goes to the CEO and other higher-ups.
"but piracy is bad!" Piracy is a Crime. However, downloading youtube videos/audio for your own PERSONAL, NON-COMMERCIAL USE and NOT REDISTRIBUTING THEM is legal (generally, in the US, check your laws, i am not a lawyer, not legal advice, blah blah blah). besides, i never said you had to pirate your music. in fact, i encourage you to buy the albums of and support your favourite artists in other ways. some artists might even provide links for people to download their songs for free in high quality anyway
not gonna link products just in case someone thinks i'm a shill. but literally just look up "mp3 player" on your search engine or shopping site of choice and find something that doesn't look like it'll fall apart if you breathe on it too hard
seriously guys. if you listen to music more than like a few hours a week, and you don't get all of your music from livestreams or radios (although mine can connect to AM/FM radio), consider investing in an mp3 player. i tried out using one regularly in fall of 2021, and I haven't looked back. don't let companies drain subscription money from you

gen loss dump part 2 :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have a gen loss playlist so the last two was me hitting randomize and drawing a pic based on the song before it finished. the second one technically isn’t that cause charlie’s inferno isn’t on apple music cause they hate me so it’s way more of the song out of spite because they wouldn’t give it to me.
#spotify is prolly better (definitely is for finding playlists i use spotify to find playlists still and then add those songs to my own lmao#but dad pays for a family apple music subscription and free music streaming is infinitely better then paying for my own spotify#also my wound reference i feel like i let him off easy from the seven foot tall wire security monster#but idk this was drawn a year ago idk what i was doing#like i agree w the vest just being REALLLL bad bruising and internal stuff but i feel like he had wayyyy more open area besides that to get#fucked up besides just his arms#but i guess since the wire monster also got turned off by the button since it didn’t immediately go at ranboo next then maybe that’s still#reasonable idk#generation loss#generation loss fanart#ranboo fanart#continuing my not spamming tags trend so even though i bc puls have tagged all three of them im not gonna#still posting this primarily for me and for everyone else second#OH THE OUTFITS ARE FROM MY PIN BOARDS#I MAKE OUTFIT BOARDS FOR EVERYTHING ITS SO FUN#LIKE EVERY FANDOM IVE POSTED HERE HAS ONE#ITS BAD#and then irl i wear sweats and t shirt lmao#i found mouse trap game board earrings#i spend too much time on those finding highly specific bullshit#the jrwi one is especially cringe cause i have a different section for all of the what ifs#and that shit lasted one (1) episode#also the full color drawing i’m so >:| about it#i need to practice coloring sooooo badly but i always get frustrated w it#i need to slow tf down idk#but thats also from nearly a year ago so

Feeling like all I want in life is a boxset of OFMD. I want S1 and S2 DVDs.
I want to own it, so that even if (when) Max decides to get rid of it, I know I can always watch it. I want to be able to watch it if my internet’s being weird, or lagging. I want to know that no matter what, I can revisit the characters who mean so much to me.
I want to be able to celebrate Calypso’s Birthday by throwing on the episode and hanging up some tacky decorations. I want to know that they can’t be taken away from me, not again. That the story that matters so much to me, a story of acceptance and compassion - a truly impactful story of self-acceptance above all else - I want to know that it will always be there for me. ugh.

As much as I beg writers to not put their books ONLY on Amazon, I beg musicians to not release their music ONLY on streaming platforms.
I know it's convenient lots of ways and they worked hard to make both artists and consumers dependent on their platforms but if we're going to try and take it down, I need people to make their own websites where we can buy independantly. I want nothing MORE than buy shit FROM artists.
And I'm not even speaking about physical releases that cost a lot of money. Put your music on Bandcamp or online linked to Paypal. Offer your books digitally on itch.io, where you can put your games too.
Diversify your platforms and format of your art, share it on more independent online and physical spaces, distribute it via mail, social medias, have an online wallet where people can buy and tip you !
I'm a very, very small artist myself, and maybe I'm super naive about all that and it's just not possible but if it is, do it. It's the only way out.

It truly seems like month after month we get yet another example of "Creative company executives with tons of money and zero knowledge of the thing their company creates tell creatives how to make their thing. Thing is released as a shiny soulless corporate flop. Executives learn nothing."
