Cannara, 1966. Designed by 18-year-old Ray Cannara who was also a graduate of the ArtCenter College of Design (also with scholarship from the  Fisher Body Guild) who studied under the center's head Strother MacMinn. MacMinn had predicted the rise of wedge design in the an edition of Road & Track magazine from February 1957 entitled Driving the Wedge or, after 1960, What? The Cannara's design satisfied MacMinn’s design requirements as to what qualified as pure wedge design and was an early example of styling that would become ubiquitous later in the later 60s and into the 1970s. It was built on a modified 1958 Chevrolet Impala Station Wagon chassis, powered by a 280bhp 283ci Chevrolet V8. The fibreglass bodywork kept the car's weight down to 2,100 lbs (952 kgs). The Cannara was restored in the recent past and was invited to participate in the prestigious 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

(dis)comfort in your absence.
the short film that i worked on from mid november to the end of december! i've already received my score so i think i'm allowed to post it now. it's the first short film that i've ever made & i don't have a lot of experience in animation & and know NOTHING about sound design so please ignore the flaws v__v pretend they don't exist.
animated in adobe photoshop & adobe premiere pro
for the background noise / music i downloaded a few lmms files that i found online and played around with them a little bit

JUNIOR THESIS PROJECT PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS: THE LAST OLYMPIAN
Adapted a segment in the book into a comic for my junior thesis project. Unfortunately life was kicking my ass and my class started our comic adaptations during the spring semester. I had to crunch but somehow I completed it on time and at a quality I'm satisfied with thankfully. Wish I could've done more but its okay

GUYSSSS!!!!
The Sci Journal has been published!!!
Find it by searching: thescijournal.weebly.com unfortunately you do have to type out the whole thing rn, goggle doesn't show it with just 'thescijournal' quite yet
About the website:
"What quickly grew to become a small community project, The Sci Journal is a place where students of any kind come together to share their interests and grow their love for research.
Once a month we will produce article entries aimed to inspire and educate based on a variety of science-related subjects such as astronomy, medicine, programming, and many more."
Our first article has been written by @becloudedsagacity about the immortal jellyfish and it is so so interesting!! (this is not just self promo— I geniuenly find it super interesting!)
I'm so so happy and proud and excited and omgggggg! Can't belive this has happened!!
I have been so blessed with your expression of interest and those that have helped with its creation or tools for it ❤️❤️ I would really appreciate if you could check out the website, see if its something you might be interested in (for either reading or also contributing to), and if you could reblog this to reach more people 💕

As I wrap up the semester, I'm also wrapping up on my game dev class project, Mainframe!
Mainframe is a fighting game about giant mech pilots duking it out in sci-fi sports that defy the square-cube law, inspired by games like Pokken Tournament, BlazBlue, and Street Fighter. It's a game I've been wanting to make for years, and I'm glad to finally have a working prototype of the idea!
This project was created with some HEAVY lifting from Universal Fighting Engine in Unity. While I won't be distributing any playable versions of this for a long time (in part due to the Maya student license), I think this works as a solid proof of concept.

🎧 Skullcandy Headphones Ad
This was a university project where we were tasked with creating a stop motion animation that could work as an advert — I chose Skullcandy headphones.
I wanted to bring a bit of attitude and energy into it, leaning into the brand’s bold style. It was all about timing, rhythm, and trying to make static objects feel loud and expressive.
That said… I completely ignored the scale of things and made the set using marzipan and food colouring. 😅
Everything melted, stained, and fell apart. It was chaos. But it was also fun, and a proper hands-on lesson in planning (or not planning).

My First LEGO Animation.
This is my very first attempt at LEGO stop motion made for my Digital Composition class. It’s rough around the edges (I know 😭), but I learned a ton and had fun bringing tiny bricks to life.
More experiments to come… maybe 😅

Project "CompMath.AstrophysicsODEs": Software Package
Finally, I got my hands on this project again. There is definitely a strong progress in the project at the moment: there is an alpha version of the software package. It is an ODE systems configurator, (m, k) - solver and visualizer combined with user-friendly interface. Unfortunately, currently only a version of solver with a constant timestep has been made, since the theory of Novikov methods is freely available only for such an implementation of the algorithm, as far as I know.
To create a solver with automatic timestep sampling, a couple of different algorithms are usually used. Based on the discrepancy in the solutions of the equations produced by these methods, it is decided wether to change the timestep in order to reduce the error by decreasing it, or, conversely, to lessen the total number of steps by increasing it. Among the methods described in the scientific literature with decent accuracy, there is only one calculated one. Thus, to manufacture more advanced solver, it is necessary to devise another algorithm and pair it with the first one.
And that's where the good news begins: after several hours of cumbersome "semi-automatic" calculations, another theoretical technique with all the necessary quotients has already been computed. Consequently, further implementation of the method with an automatic time step will be only a matter of technique.
In the meantime, you can admire the work of the software package with a "constant solver" on a very trivial stiff problem with an exponential analytic solution.
P.S.: The graphics below show the computed solution to a simple task (u(t)) and its relative error (uEps(t)) based on the deviation from the analytical solution. I ask you to pay attention to the fact that the error is really low (maximum about 0.0000025%) for a rather stiff problem (the value reaches 2.5·10^43 in one second).

LOOKING FOR MUSICIANS
Hello, my name is Joshe. I'm a senior at the Institute of American Indian Arts and for my senior project I'm developing and animating a pilot episode for a potential series. Music is going to be very prominent in the series, so for the pilot I'm hoping to commission an original song.
The sound I'm listening for is essentially "folktronica", acoustic guitars with electric keyboards.
The reason for this is the setting of the pilot is a small, folk town but the characters are youthful. Folk music also has deep roots in rebellion and challenging the norms presented by dominant culture.
I'm not looking for lyrics for the pilot. Simply a solid instrumental piece that could be replicated on a keyboard and with a guitar - the reason I'm being so narrow is because these are the instruments used by the characters and I enjoy such attention to detail.
I'm looking for a minute or two minutes of music. I want a peak of energy, a climax for the song. If that makes sense? Sorry, I'm not musician, I'm a writer and character designer.
If you are interested or have further questions, please email me at [email protected] with a copy of your portfolio and a copy of your terms of service.
