He definitely loves talking about his latest ideas or inventions loves having you near him or sitting on his lap as he talks about it.

Don't ever say your going to a store to get something fixed this dude will show up at your house to fix it because "Those fools lack skills and would only make it worse while overcharging you" will definitely add upgrades too.

He gets very worried about your safety and offers to go with you whenever you go out he tries to not be too overbearing so if you want space he will listen [may ask if it's okay to track your phone]

Not that much of a jealous person unless either someone is actually flirting with you or it's Huntsman will definitely but into the conversation and talk over them boasting about his latest accomplishment.

He would swoon if you help remind him to drink and eat he gets too deep into thought while working on projects so if you just slide a cup of water to him while giving him a small kiss on the side of his head you have him kicking his feet giggling completely flustered.

He returns the favor a lot too making sure you maintain your health too may any celestial being save you if he finds out you've skipped eating oh and if you haven't been drinking water only energy drinks a juice yeah he's gonna sit you at the table with a bottle of water and not let you leave until you finished it.

Before turning into a spider demon I think he used to have a really bad immune system so he got sick a lot so whenever you're sick he definitely knows what to do while cheering you up and since he's not human anymore he wouldn't get sick so he's by your side instantly.

Alrighty, I’m here for some angst. How would the following characters: Macaque, Wukong, Syntax, Mayor and Red Son react to you dying in front of them? Like possibly from LBD or you took a hit for them?

I'm really sorry but I refuse to write character/reader deaths :( it just upsets me a great deal. However. I will write these characters reacting to you taking a hit bc I still wanna write their reactions

Macaque, Wukong, Syntax, Mayor, and Redson x GN Reader who took a hit from LBD (angsty Scenarios!)

Macaque - oh he feels terrible. Not only did he kinda let this happen, it’s you who got hurt instead of himself. He was fully prepared to take that hit but you jumped in before it got to him and he hates the sound it makes as it impacts you. He swears to himself that he’ll make it up to you somehow, he’ll be the one to get you to safety, he will heal you. Expect a lot of affection once it’s all over. A lot of “I’m sorry”’s and “does it hurt”’s. You are his top priority.

SWK - he let himself down by letting you get remotely close to the fight, but it’s like you don’t think twice before jumping in between him and LBD. No matter how hurt you get—even if it ends up just being a flesh wound—he puts even more passion into finishing the fight and defeating her. After it’s over he doesn’t let you leave his sight for a while so you can recover. It’ll take a lot of reassurance from you for him to stop feeling so guilty.

Syntax - I imagine this would take place towards the end of season 2. He doesn’t trust this weird girl and her even weirder assistant. So when you get hit instead of him when they betray the Queen, his suspicions are only confirmed. He knows he can’t defeat them, but he does his absolute best to get you to a safer place where he can apply his medical knowledge and help you. He brings you everything you need and insists that you stay here so you don’t get hurt again. More angry than anything else.

Mayor - this is bad for him because he is fighting an inside battle—does he side with his lady, or his lover? He can’t fully break away from her influence until she abandons him to get to SWK. Then, even though he’s weakened substantially, he helps to get you to safety. You have to make it, even if he doesn’t. After it’s all over, he stays with you as you both recover together and get back on your feet.

Redson - this demon is FURIOUS. He can scold you for doing something so stupidly selfless later on—for now he needs to get you out of danger. Puts up as much of a fight as he can and then rushes you back to his domain, where he puts magic seals around you that will help you to heal and keep you safe while he’s away helping the others. Comes back often to check on you and apologize that he let this happen. After it’s over he encourages you to stay with him at his home until you’re fully healed.

The most researched on the subject. Has specific days of the week when he checks on your health and makes sure that your doing well. He's not a therapist, but he'll try his best to help you through your problems.

He notices that after missions that didn't go the way you wanted/ones that you failed, your expression shows shame and embarrassment. But anytime anyone asks, you refuse to let your guard down or talk about it for fear you’ll seem weak.

You're highly organized, making sure to have everything you and your allies need for a mission, along with meeting mission deadlines to please Spider Queen and helping the others solve all their problems. He just wishes that you'd take care of yourself too.

He'll help distract you when you're having trouble concentrating or start thinking about anything/everything, which usually has you helping him with his projects or talking to you about things that make you happy.

He knows a little bit about it, but does his best to research the topic, seeing what options there are and offers some to you. If you want to do therapy, or maybe something like yoga, he'll support it, so long as it helps you.

He understands that when talking to others, you'll freeze up, or that you just have a hard time saying no/being assertive, so he'll step in and deals with anyone who's bothering you.

He's emotionally constipated, so it's a bit hard for him to open up and talk about his feelings, but he always makes it known that he's with you. That wherever you go and whatever you face, you'll do it together.

You tend to over think and strive for perfection, always stressing yourself out and blaming yourself when you think it's not good enough. He understands that feeling all to well and sits down with you, hoping to talk you into healthier options.

Omg I'm so sorry but he's the worst when it comes to helping at first. He's trying his best, but sometimes he makes it worse. You'd have to explain it to him and help him understand.

This is the one time he actually uses his laptop and searches up what he needs to do. He'll even look up ways to help ease your mind, like breathing techniques, yoga, etc. Stuff that'll help and allow you to take it at your own pace.

Literally hugs the reassurance into your body & head. Physical affection is something that he's all about, so whenever you feel that you're not good enough, he's got you in his arms, talking about how great you and your company is.

He sees that you try so hard to hide your anxiety, looking calm on the outside, but he starts to notice when you're uncomfortable, nervous, scared, and that's his cue to jump in and comfort/help you relax.

🌙MACAQUE🌙

He's literally there by your side in seconds should you ever need him. He's not the best when it comes to comforting others, but he's trying his best for you. And you try your best to comfort him, which makes him feel better for the rest of the day/night.

Having trouble sleeping is something you both deal with. Both of you having nightmares, too scared to wake the other up due to fear of being annoying. But if you're both awake, you'll just lay there, holding each other's hands, making small talk before falling back to sleep.

You both tend to dwell on negative thoughts and worst-case scenarios. Afraid that the other may leave and find someone else, that they may hate you one day. It's something that you both talk about, but that lingering fear always seems to stay.

Reassurance is something you both give daily. Whether it be through softly whisperer words, or through warm embraces, it's something that gives the both of you peace.

• He’d likely try forcing you to be with him, trying to take you away right then and there, but Redson easily stops him and leaves with you.

• Obviously, instead of looking at himself as a person, being understanding, and realising he needed to make some adjustments, he tries kidnapping you again.

• He would likely do it while the two of you were asleep, using his slick technology to muffle any noises and not wake up the flaming boy who stole his love

• He wouldn’t be ready to fight Redson

• Not then, at least.

• While you were in Syntax’s care, he’d spend every second of what little free time he’d have with you.

• Holding you tightly as if you had any chance of getting out of his grasp on your own.

• It wouldn’t matter anyway, he made sure to thoroughly block any possible escape, setting traps upon traps in any small openings in any small gaps he made.

• Only he know how to swiftly avoid all the sensors

• He’d scold you for even thinking you could leave him

• And then almost immediately start praising you for “being in his arms again.”

• Much to Syntax’s dismay, Redson would immediately come to rescue you.

• Syntax would then find out that you had somehow escaped, despite his elaborate array of traps, he’d not only be mad, but also embarrassed.

• Not just because Redson had somehow gotten past his genius inventions, but the little shit had also found a critical error in them, which allowed him to easily get past them.

• …The error being that they weren’t flame proof.

• Syntax would overwork himself trying to create a material strong enough not to melt under Redson’s heat.

• His determination to get Redson will rise immediately. Working even more quickly to make a new invention that will help him get you back.

• Syntax would not be giving up on you, he WILL have you back, no matter what it takes.

• There would be multiple attempts to get you back.

• All, however, would immediately be shut down by Redson

• who would grow more and more annoyed with the “Pesky Bug” as he called it.

• It would get harder and harder for Redson to hold back burning him to a crisp right then and there.

• But he knows better.

• He’s well aware about how you would feel about his… urges, and would rather not have you (try to) break up with him over something so minuscule

• He’s much rather have you be with him willingly rather than by force.

• So, he will resist (for now)

Morning Kisses (Syntax x Reader)

Been writing up some drabbles lately, this was one that @beauleifu​ and @synoo​ requested I flesh out more. Hope you all enjoy Spider Smooches!

You drag your feet along the floor, only just coming home at the prime time of 1:35 in the early dawn. Your body is so exhausted. You could literally flop down on your couch, but choose to resist for at least 20 minutes while you clean the day off of you. It wouldn't be too much of a good idea to suddenly plop down on your sectional sofa since your roommate of 2 years, Syntax, opted to sleep there and put the TV on to fall asleep. You didn’t want to disturb his slumber at such an ungodly hour anyway.

  Slinking into the bathroom, you quickly wash up, drying your hair as much as you can with a towel before brushing your teeth and changing into your comfiest pajamas. You feel a little upset that you weren’t able to enjoy the warmth of the water for long, but thinking about it gave you a wonderful idea. Not wanting to sleep in your cold bed alone tonight after the agonizing torture work put you through, you tiptoe over to the couch and sneakily lay next to the spider demon. You lay facing him and pull some of the blanket covering him over you. Sleep washed over you almost instantly, a smile on your face as you drift into dreamland next to your personal heater.

Come morning, you wake up first due to the sunlight illuminating your living room. The TV automatically turned itself off which helped you with your rest, only being able to sleep in near-to-total darkness. You move your arm to rub the sleepies out of your eyes when you feel an arm already draped over your middle. At some point in the night, Syntax subconsciously noticed your form next to him and held you close as you slept. That alone made you blush, your skin decorated with goosebumps. You peer up at his still sleeping face, completely in awe at how gorgeous he looks with the morning light hitting his face in just the right way. He appeared absolutely breathtaking. You lean your face closer to his, wanting to steal a kiss while he was still fast asleep. You stopped yourself and pulled back, shutting your eyes and heavily blushing at the thought. You felt his arm move a bit before you opened your eyes to meet his own, his hand trailing up your side to cup your cheek.

"Well, if you won't do it, then I will." He mused before pulling in for a short, sweet kiss. You squeak as he does so and he smiles into it knowing fully well how flustered you are. He’s right to think so. Your focus was all over the place from the butterflies in your stomach to the warmth of the morning sun to his soft lips on yours.

He pulls away after a couple seconds to see your flushed face. He chuckles, “Good morning~ Would you like some coffee or did that wake you up enough?”

It takes you a moment to compose yourself after that. You can still feel his lips on yours even after he stops. You hum at his question, coming up with a response that would surely fluster him as well.

“Coffee sounds good, but I’m gonna need an extra shot or two of KISSspresso~” You smirk as he makes a noise akin to his breath catching in his throat, his cheeks turn a darker shade of purple at your flirt. He composes his thoughts before smiling at you, a shimmer in his eyes.

“I think I can whip that up for you.” He pulls you in for another, longer kiss. You know for a fact you won’t be getting your morning coffee as quickly as you expected, but that’s fine with you. His lips tasted better anyway.

Still sad about Syntax not getting any screentime regarding his past before getting turned, so my brain went like "...This has slight angst potential".

♤ ~ Comfort ~ ♤

His green eyes looked into the bathroom's mirror, gazing upon his newfound looks in the darkness. From his green and purple colors to the fact that he no longer needed glasses made him feel very much uncertain if you still liked him. It wasn't a small change one could easily miss or brush off, after all. Syntax had four spider legs coming out of his back now, for crying out loud! How could you not notice?!

He sighed as he ran his hand through his now green hair, closing his eyes while contemplating his next step. The techy science nerd was still in love with you despite the venom in his veins, making him loyal to his queen above basically all else.

How is he supposed to tell you without you freaking out and leaving him? That was probably his greatest fear in that moment. A future without you by his side. That one flaw in his transformation he could never be able to look past.

Good thing you were still at work, so you couldn't see him tearing up in your shared home.

'I suppose I could always fully live in the Underground with the other spider demons if they reject my new form...', he thought, his frown turning into a bittersweet smile.

'...But then I wouldn't be able to see them anymore...'

Suddenly, he heard the sounds of keys clashing with one another by the front door...

His eyes widened at the familiar sound. 'They weren't supposed to be back yet! I can't hide in time!' He panicked as he slammed the bathroom door, closing it just as he heard the front door shut in a more gentle manner.

"Syn? Love? Is that you?", your concerned voice rang through the halls, all the way past the bathroom door. You were hoping it was him and not a burglar.

He took a deep breath as he leaned his back against the door as best as he could with his spider limbs, "I- Y-Yeah, just... not feeling all too well."

Your gut feeling told you he was lying... Well, partially. You were slightly more concerned now as your husband wasn't one to feel sick and take a break over it. Forcing him away from his projects was the only way you were ever able to even sleep most days! So him being in the bathroom on his own accord was strange, to say the least. Questioning his sickness, you decided to walk up to the bathroom and gave a light knock.

"May I come in?" Syntax swore his heart stopped from the sudden panic spike those simple words brought him. Tears slowly started to gather back up in his eyes as he scowled towards the ground.

"...I just- I don't think you want to see me", he said. You were even more confused now as you said nothing, waiting for him to continue. "Even if you do right now, I doubt you'd want to stay after seeing me... After witnessing what I've become..."

The faint sniffing you heard past the door was all you needed as motivation for your protective side to take over. "Love, please let me in. I don't know what you're talking about, but I can promise you I will never abandon you over your looks", you told him as you leaned in with your hands against the door. He could hear your gentle smile as you spoke the part after. "After all, I didn't marry my beloved tech nerd for his looks. His looks were a nice bonus... But what I fell for was his witty personality, his knowledge over things I barely have knowledge of, how he cared for me..."

You placed your forehead on the door now too as you heard what you could only describe as metal lightly clanking against the door's wood.

"You mean so much to me you don't even know..."

That.

That sentence was all it took to break the spider demon and turn him into a sobbing mess. He opened the door just enough so you could see one half of his face within the darkness of the bathroom. The only light inside came from a little nightlight you once insisted on adding so you had an easier time navigating to the bathroom during nighttime.

You were surprised by his new looks and Syntax took your facial expression as a bad sign. However, instead of leaving him as he feared, you put a foot between the door and its frame.

"May I come in now?"

Your husband finally fully opened the door, despite being reluctant about it, and you were finally able to have a good look at him. And honestly, you would be lying if you said you didn't find him even more attractive now.

The only thing that kind of freaked you out were the newfound mechanical spider limbs coming out of his back. You carefully approached him as he took one step back out of instinct. But that didn't stop you as you took one of his hands into your own, gazing at its purple shade in wonder before using your other hand to lightly play around with its skin. This simple action seemed to calm him enough as he rubbed his eyes with his other hand to get rid of some tears that were threatening to fall.

"...I'm not scared of you, and I certainly am not less in love with you, Syntax. That being said, I am curious", you started before your eyes trailed up from his hand to his eyes. "What happened to you?"

He sighed as he took you in for a hug, inhaling your scent to calm himself further, to ensure himself that you were still with him and haven't left. You two simply held each other as you whispered more comforting words to him. A few minutes of just holding each other, and you looking at the spider legs coming from his back with interest, you decided to ask him if he was finally ready to speak, and he agreed.

You two ended up cuddling on your bed as he told you about what happened: The Spider Queen, her lackeys, the venom incident, him being part of the reason why half of the city's population became zombie-like, his newfound loyalty to his queen... He had to ensure you that he would never pick her above you however... While he isn't sure how far his loyalty for her would go now as his spider instincts tell him to follow his queen's every command, he would hate himself forever if he did end up leaving you.

It was a bit difficult for you to adjust to this new life of having a spider demon as lover in general. He would be gone for most of the time since he would regularly sleep in Spider Queen's Lair, and only ever come back home in the dead of night when you were already asleep. And unless it was the weekend, you were unable to stay awake due to you having work at the office the next morning. So nowadays it was hard for you to even see him, which was upsetting because you just missed his presence.

One day however, Syntax came to visit you at work while disguised in a cloak. He didn't exactly try to have a conversation with you as he wanted to avoid distracting you from your job. But not only did he leave you a lunchbox, but he also gave you a quick kiss. Once he was gone, you looked into the lunchbox and saw your favorite snacks(, that he probably either bought or stole right before visiting), as well as a little sticky note that simply read 'I love you ♡'.

You couldn't help but let out a small laugh at how cute he was being. He was never the romantic type and would shy away from the simple idea of showing you public affection, so this came as a nice surprise. It was as if Syntax truly did change a bit in personality and became a bit bolder with his transformation.

Your husband was also there when you came home this time. He kept on using his charm the whole evening until you asked him why he was being so affectionate with you all of a sudden. And his response was that he was repaying you.

"Repay me for what? For loving my husband?" You asked jokingly.

"Well, of course! I hate being apart from you for longer periods of time", he responded happily with his nowadays signature shark-toothed smile. "Which is why I wanted to ask you if you'd be interested in moving into the Spider Queen's Lair with me. It would technically be closer to your workplace as well as my own. Your brain started panicking as you imagined different bad scenarios that could happen. But then it halted on one scenario that you could not look past. "...What if your queen orders you to get rid of me?"

Suddenly, Syntax pulled you close to him so your chest would be flat against his as he embraced you with his head on your shoulder. You were surprised, but happily returned the hug.

"Well, then she'll have to inject venom into another person with a similar intelligence level to mine. I would rather drain the venom from my own veins than get rid of you. Besides," he chuckled, "the queen may have an army, but none of them come close to having my technological capabilities. And knowing the queen, she would not bother trying to replace me unless a better replacement is handed to her on a silver platter."

That made you laugh a little before you two leaned in for a passionate kiss.

Hello! I heard your requests where open and i was wondering if you could write headcannons for Syntax and Red Son with an S/O that has insomnia and has trouble sleeping?

I wasn't sure which charactrs you write for but if you dont want to do either character for any reason thats ok!

Absolutely! I adore those two, but I went with Syntax because spider boy needs more love. I actually can't think of any LMK characters I don't like to write though, so don't worry about dropping any of them in my ask box!

Syntax x Reader

He's always been one to sleep at odd hours due to his constant tinkering, so he's often up while you're trying and failing to get some sleep. Initially he enjoyed the company in the early hours of the morning and took the opportunity to go on about all of his work, but it quickly becomes apparent that you're not getting the rest you need and he puts all of his considerable brainpower into finding a solution.

His initial ideas are equal parts technologically advanced and outrageous. Have you considered a microchip in the part of your brain that regulates sleep? What about a pillow that releases regular doses of knockout gas? Perhaps a stasis pod in place of a bed? Of course you appreciate the effort, but have to explain that you just want to get a solid eight hours of sleep without having to worry about blowing a fuse in the middle of the night.

He'll keep searching for technological solutions if only because he thinks they're all he has to offer. Being part spider and robot makes him certain he isn't going to be much help with a softer approach, so he does his absolute best to find a solution with what he's good at. Eventually the search starts cutting into his own sleep as he grows ever more desperate each time he sees you struggling with exhaustion, and you quickly notice you're not the only one missing out on much needed rest.

When you approach him to express your gratitude but ask that he stop for his own sake, he expresses a burst of frustration at his own apparent inadequacy. He's a scientist, and this problem must have a scientific solution, so what good is he to you if he can't find it? He's not entirely convinced when you assure him that it's hardly his fault, and that you're fine so long as he's there... To help prove you mean it, you visit him in his workshop during your next sleepless night and say you want nothing more than to just spend time in his presence. If you're going to be awake, you want to be with him, you explain. He reluctantly accepts, and continues to tinker in silence while you chill off to the side.

Imagine his surprise when he finds you fully unconscious within minutes, curled up on his work desk and sleeping like an absolute rock. It takes him an exceptionally long amount of time to realize you were finally comfortable enough to sleep only because he was near, and from then on your bed more or less moves to his workshop. It doesn't matter what crazy technology he works on or how loud it gets as long as he's near. You'll occasionally wake to find extra blankets laid lovingly over you or additional pillows tucked about your body for comfort, but he never acknowledges where they came from.

Mayor

You two probably met via Bone Demon BS. 

You may have a neat little artifact that he’s after for his lady, so naturally he goes after you. Unlike many of his other victims, however…you are scarily good at getting away from him.

He’s a ruthless hunter, you have to admit. You learn bits and pieces about him while you play cat and mouse, and it leads to an interesting type of friendship.

He shows up, you two have a pleasant conversation, he tries to steal from you, and you grab a spray bottle full of holy water and kick him out. 

Honestly, the routine is refreshing for him! It’s hard being a zombie, running a city, AND serving a demon mistress!

After he gets his butt handed to him by Wukong, interrogated by the gang, and then promptly gets left behind by his lady, he shows up after everything is over to talk to you. 

He’s in a sorry state…you almost feel bad for him. But he swears that he’s not trying to get anything from you. He just wants to spend time with a comforting familiar face.

It takes a while, but you both really connect with each other and eventually you end up dating :)

Syntax

When his queen sent him to find more potential spider subjects, he thought he’d have a harder time.

You have a lot of potential. You’re dedicated, hardworking…you really do meet the criteria!

Unfortunately for him, you were there during the first spider attack, so you’ve got a darn good idea about how to fend off any potential arachnid attackers. 

He keeps on trying with you, and one day you catch him face to face. You actually manage to beat him up pretty bad—Huntsman laughed at him for hours after he got back to the base

But he knew that this wasn’t about a subject anymore…no, he was delighted in being YOUR enemy. 

He targets you in his schemes a lot, and you can really tell how much of a tsundere he actually is once you’ve been kicking him off of the fire escape for long enough.

Eventually you start leaving peace offerings. Like c’mon, this man is built like a twig, give him some snacks

He finds it odd but he welcomes the meals. Things slow down and even though he still gets on your nerves…you consider him to be your friend.

Once all the Bone Demon BS is over, it takes a hot second but he starts showing up again, and as you both recover from the near end of the world, you click really nicely and you’ll actually probably be the first to make any moves!

Redson

You’re the child of a different demon family, but one that has been allied with the Demon Bull Family for ages. So naturally you two were SUPPOSED to be friends.

Buuuut it’s kinda hard trying to be friends with a kid who not only has mad daddy issues but also mad anger issues. 

Your families still get along but by the gods they don’t leave you two unsupervised because something will be set on fire or destroyed.

You two constantly push each other’s buttons, ESPECIALLY as adults, and sometimes you thwart Redson’s schemes on purpose just to mess with them. 

…and directly after you go over to their place to have dinner and gossip with his mom.

Some special event happens, perhaps a celebration of the fact that the world didn’t end

His head hurt.

The intense throbbing, the bright light source coming from the doorway-

He froze.

Doorway?

There wasn't supposed to a doorway-

"Rise and shine."

He was supposed to be-

The demon shot up, hissing in pain while backing away and bumping into a wall, trying to engage his tech...

Only to realize it wasn't there.

He was panicking.

The last thing he saw was that blasted Mayor before he was killed! Thrown into that blasted furnace.

And now, he's in some unknown location-

"Syntax! It's okay!"

Finally hearing that familiar voice made him look up, seeing you with a worried expression. He was surprised to see you, since you had suddenly vanished on them before...

"...What?"

He could feel himself calming down from that statement alone.

You were slow with your movements, trying not to make the situation worse. With raised hands to show that you meant no harm, you spoke, "Bone Demon chick is gone."

You moved back, sitting back in your chair and running a hand through your hair.

Silence took over, with Syntax calming himself a bit more before speaking up.

"...What about the others?"

You smiled, standing up and offering him a hand. He took it, groaning in pain with the sudden movement, opting to simply sit up instead. He could look at the new place later.

You noticed that he was trying to stand up, and you quickly moved to help him sit up first.

"Safe. Right now they're resting. It's been a busy day."

Of course, he had questions, and you answered the best you could. Explaining how Mk and his friends defeated Lady Bone Demon, that you found the furnace and managed to pull them out, albeit with a bit of luck. That you and the other spider demons had managed to find a place and set up camp while he stayed unconscious, concluding that him being in the furnace for the longest might have taken a lot of energy from him.

You leaned over, hand over your mouth as you whispered, "Don't tell the others that I said anything, but they were really worried about you."

You tilted your head, "What for?"

Syntax seemed to still at the information, but immediately chuckled afterwards.

Worried, huh?

Didn't sound like them at all...

But he wasn't going to lie that a part of him was...happy about that.

"...Thank you."

"...For not abandoning us."

A laugh passed your lips, "No way would I do that!"

You gently bumped shoulders with him, offering a caring smile, "We're in this together."

Even with the scoff that left him, the soft smile on his face said otherwise.

He liked the sound of that.
