you have to go to work so you can pay for your doctor, who is not taking your insurance right now, and if you say i can't afford the doctor's you are told - get a better job. it is very sad that you are unwell, yes, but maybe you should have thought about that before not having a better job.
(where is the better job? who is giving out these better jobs? you are sick, you are hurting - how the hell are you supposed to be well enough for this better job?)
but you go to the doctor because you had the nerve to be hurt or sick or whatever else. and they tell you that it is because you have anxiety. you try your best. you are a self-advocate. you've done the reading (which sometimes pisses them off worse, honestly). you say it is actually adding to my anxiety, it is effecting my quality of life. so they say that you are fat. they say that all young people have this happen to them, isn't it a medical marvel! they say that you should eat more vegetables. they say that you probably just need to lose a little more weight, and that you are faking it for attention.
(what attention could this doctor possibly give? what validation? that's their fucking job, isn't it?)
there is always a hypochondriac, right. someone always tells you about a hypochondriac. or someone who is unnecessarily aggressive during the worst days of their life. or someone looking "for a quick fix". or some idiot who wasn't educated about how to properly care for themselves who just abandons their treatment. and again, the hypochondriac, the overly-cautious hysteric. these people don't deserve to be treated like humans (right), and since you might be one of these people, you also don't get treated like a human. because those people can really fuck with the system, you now have to pay for it. and besides. you're actually probably faking it.
(more often than not, you find a 2:1 ratio of these stories. for every "hypochondriac", there are 2 people who knew something was wrong, and yet nobody could fucking find it. the story often ends with pointless suffering. the story often ends with and now it's too late, and it's going to kill me.)
you are actually just making excuses. someone else got that procedure or that diagnosis and he's fine, you should be fine too. someone else said they watched a documentary about other inspirational people with your exact same condition, maybe you should be inspirational, too. you're just too morbid. your pain and your experience is probably just not statistically concerning. it is all self-reported anyway, and you're just being a baby.
(once, while sitting down in the middle of making coffee, you had the sudden, horrible thought - i could kill myself to make the pain stop. you had to call your best friend after that. had to pet your dog. had to cry about it in the shower. you won't, but that moment - god, fuck. the pain just goes on and on.)
you know someone who went in for routine surgery and said i still feel everything. they told her to just relax. it took her kicking and screaming before they figured out she wasn't lying - the anesthetic drip hadn't been working. you know someone who went in for severe migraines who was told drink water and lose weight. you know someone who was actively bleeding out and throwing up in the ER and was told you're just having a bad period.
in the ER there are always these little posters saying things like "don't wait! get checked today!" and you think about how often you do wait. how often the days spool out. you once waited a full week before seeing the doctor for what you thought was a sprained wrist. it had actually been broken - they had to rebreak it to set it.
but you go into the doctor. the problem you're having is immediate. the person behind the counter frowns and says we're not taking your insurance. you will be paying for this out-of-pocket.
they send you home with tylenol and a little health packet about weight loss or anxiety or attention deficit. on the front it has your birthday and diagnosis. you think about crying, and the words swim. it might as well say go fuck yourself. it might as well say you're a fucking idiot. it might as well say light your money on fire and lie down in it. and the entire fucking time - the problem persists.
it's okay. it's okay, it's just another thing, you think. it's just another thing i have to learn to live with.
#spilled ink#warm up#can you tell what i'm mad about today specifically#i will say that there are a LOT of things that go into this. like a lot. this is ungendered and unspecific for a reason#it isn't just sexism. it's also racism. and ableism. and honestly classism.#and before a healthcare professional reads this as a personal attack: i understand ur burnt out#we are ALSO burnt out. your situation is also dire. this is not an attack on you.#this is a commentary on the incredible amounts of bigotry that lie at the heart of capitalism#where people have to pay money out of pocket to be told to fuck off.#your job is important. so is our humanity. and if you cannot accept that people are fucking mad as hell#at the industry - you are probably not listening .#anyway at some point im gonna write a piece about sexism specifically in medical shit#but i don't want terfs clowning in it bc they can't understand nuance#> it is true that ppl w/a uterus are more likely to experience medical malpractice & dismissal globally#> it is also true that trans people experience an equally fucked up and bad time in the medical field#> great news! the medical industrial complex is an equal opportunity life ruiner :)#(if you find it necessary to go into a debate about biology while discussing medical malpractice#i want to warn you that you're misunderstanding the issue. because guess what.#cis MEN might experience this. particularly black men. particularly disabled men.#so YES having a uterus can lead to more trouble for you. but this happens a LOT.#instead of fighting those ALSO experiencing your pain.... try working WITH them.#which btw. is like. actual feminism.)

anyways, am-i-the-asshole-official is uncritically platforming transmisogyny. like, real obvious transmisogyny.
like that post has everything. pedojacketing. saying she's gross/creepy. she's "creepy" for basically confessing (joining OPs polycule). her not getting work and her coworkers hating her some how reflecting bad on her, and not them and how transmisogynistic society is. mentioning how tall and broad and scary she looks. calling her creepy for wearing a maid outfit at home while cleaning. and then just peppering in a half-assed vague "oh she sexually abused my partner he says so" while also vaguely saying she "gives off creepy vibes". to justify making her homeless btw
and the people in the notes are LAPPING it up! nta is currently winning. and the blog owner sees no problem platforming this. in the context of the everything happening on this website rn, disgusting honestly

Another example to show that trans women are simply men who hate women and are envious of our anatomy. They so desperately want to be us that they resort to insulting us. I will never respect or accept them as women because no woman talks like this. Absolutely vile!! They are misogynistic people.

I don't wanna generalize an entire website because there's some really nice people on here, but sometimes it's reeeeally scary and obvious how much most of tumblr hates women. (It's definitely not just tumblr, but that's the only website I use.) People constantly make gross violent threats towards Taylor Swift because apparently she's the devil herself, and Swifties are just brainless npcs who couldn't possibly be Real People, right? People on tiktok or wherever the hell were mad at Chappell Roan because *checks notes* she doesn't want to be stalked or harassed. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber haven't been together in like, 12 years or whatever, but people are STILL pitting Selena against Hailey Bieber. Not to mention the bodyshaming and endless fakes nudes made without consent that get posted and reposted all over. Maisie Peters was on the Eras Tour, but people started bullying her about her voice. It was all fine and well to like Sabrina Carpenter, but only up until she got popular. Because popular = bad, right? Apparently choosing to wear more makeup than other people is a punishable crime on tumblr.com. People are trying to find "acceptable" ways to be awful because they can't get away with calling women sluts or whores anymore, but I literally see right through it, and it's not cute.

So yeah just throwing in my two penneth, good on David for telling Kemi Badenoch to shut it. She’s a fucking terf. Then she goes and plays the stereotype card, David Tennant told you to shut your mouth. He never even mentioned race or gender. He literally told you to stop gassing, which to be honest is really what you should do. You tried to insinuate awful, untrue things about him. You’re embarrassing yourself, sit the fuck down.
Also Rishi you need to fuck off too, getting on the band wagon. YOU are in fact THE PROBLEM. Dragging David on Twitter, you do know he doesn’t use the internet right? He’s off living his best life wearing his pride badges, being a sweetheart and actual genuine person, and having fun with his beautiful wife and kids. He’s literally just rocked up to the Mean Girls premiere, slaying in his pink nails. He doesn’t give one shiny shit about what you’ve got to say.
Don’t vote Tory. On the 4th of July if you are old enough and registered to vote, please vote Labour or failing that, anything that isn’t Conservative.
Get those fucking terf bastards out of number 10. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Aims out.

Hi!
I’m not trying to be rude, this is just a genuine question and I’m curious. Why do you use xey/xem instead of they/them for nonbinary/gender-neutral characters? I’m only wondering because I personally use they/them, and hadn’t heard of xey/xem before.
Thank you!
Xey/xem is a set of neopronouns! Some people choose to use certain sets of nonstandard pronouns for themselves for various reasons. I've made a conscious choice to use them more often in the past year or so, some people in the audience really appreciate it.
Some reasons that people use neos;
Their preferred language doesn't have a genderless pronoun like English's they/them
They feel it fits their unique experience with gender better than they/them
Making a statement; I've seen some it/its users who argue they want to "reclaim" it since it's often used to dehumanize queer people.
It's Just Cool. Some people just like doing stuff because it's interesting.
For BB though, I use xey/xem for Gib/Meewa cats, which is a BB!Clan Cultural third gender next to Tom and Molly. The language they speak, Clanmew, doesn't have gender-based pronouns at all. The Meewa gender is not gender-neutral, so in translating it to English, I feel it would actually be most accurate to refer to them with a neo set and not with exclusive they/them.
They might be non"binary" by our standards; but gibs have their own set of gender expectations and a role within the Clan. Their gender is trinary, so queer cats in this narrative are non-trinary. Gender is a social construct, so fantasy cultures that have a very different idea of it tend to fascinate me.
Tossed it in for funsies, but it gives me a chance to chat about gender and such now and then. Welcome to Bonefall's Gender Shop where I will blast you with chemicals so intense your frogs will turn gay or your MONEY BACK

it's been pointed out on here before that a lot of terf arguments are actually rooted in sexist idealology that feminists fought and died to unnormalise decades ago and that's its own kettle of fish but one thing i also find very frustrating about this so called 'radical' feminism is that it's so... defeatist? like the moment you categorically label an entire section of society as Bad and Inherently Evil then there's also the implication that nothing can be done about it, and it completely takes all accountability away. saying all men are evil is just another way of saying boys will be boys. he raped her because he's a man. he hit her because he's a man. he didn't listen because he's a man - it's almost offensively oversimplified. there's no point trying to fix this issue in society because men are just Like That, okay! so now what? it's not like they're going anywhere, so you just accept that 50% of the population are evil and will forever treat you terribly and there's nothing to be done about it bc they're biologically predisposed to it? like is that fr the argument here? you're soooo radical for that
#this is coming from someone who used to very genuinely be a misandrist#ironically it was only when i started actually analysing my own feminism that i got MORE confrontational with men#and started respecting my boundaries a lot better BECAUSE i started holding them accountable again#like when men treat me like shit nowadays i dont just write it off as 'what did you expect? he's a man' i get MAD about it#because i EXPECT BETTER FROM THEM even if it's just tiny shit women have to deal with daily#i hold them to just as high a standard as im held to and i make them take accountability when they dont meet that#and whether you realise it or not even on a subconscious level the MOMENT you black-and-white blanket statement all men as bad#you stop holding them accountable.#like it is literally just boys will be boys. do terfs seriously not realise they're sending feminism BACKWARDS#like if a girl came to me with her trauma and people - other girls no less - tried to comfort her with 'yeah all men are evil'#id be fucking furious. like no he did that because he was a piece of shit that had it normalised to him that women arent to be respected#dont you dare let him off the hook with something as simple and uncritical as 'he's a man'#i promise you men like that will MUCH prefer a blanket statement such as 'all men are as bad as each other'#than actually being point blank told they're an abuser or a rapist. because being lumped together is comfortable and even empowering#wheras isolating their behaviour with words that are Bad and Ugly (LIKE 'rapist') is not comfortable at all and has heavy connotations#idk i dont think radical feminism is always bad on its own it can be v liberating. just terfs and misandrists that i have a problem with#dropping this post in a piranha tank and closing tumblr knowing im gonna have some thirty year old karen yelling at me within 5 mins#i probably wont respond to any terf comments bc they literally mentally exhaust me with their stupidity#but that also depends on my mood and ability to keep my mouth shut LMFAO we shall see

RE: those terfs in your comic reblogs, I'd love to see whatever fantasy world those people live in where trans people face tremendous outside pressure to *continue* transitioning. I wonder what else is different there?
Ikr! Please show me that place, I'm looking to move anyways!

It’s insane how common homophobia is among these people. The obsession they have with lesbians is sickening; it makes me want to vomit. Someone asked this person what a lesboy is, and their answer was, “a person who identifies as a boy but also a lesbian.” It's a new form of conversion therapy and rape, but we become the villains if we question them. According to the logic, words or terms literally have no meanings anymore. Trans people truly hate women because every degrading step is directed towards women. Straight moids always used to fantasize about lesbians, but now they can do it without any shame because of the trans cult. Disgusting!

i am glad drake is being called out and i’m glad kendrick is doing exactly that but i can’t help but notice that men are only quick to label other men they hate as predators and not their very own friends.
its a valid way to feel but when trying to analyze peoples actions possible political results i find its better off to try to lock away ones own feelings about the entire system. its unfair.
like ive seen many people upset along the lines of "so kendricks just coming out with these serious allegations just cuz theyre beefing. men only care about womens violence to dunk on other men" and while thats a valid way to feel about the culture, about the general, the majority, about men, cuz we literally see this happen around us, etc etc we literally cant apply it to individuals baselessly.
i have 0 idea what the circumstances were and what kendrick was thinking through this whole thing, WHAT I DO KNOW is that its literally historic someone with this kind of platform is so ruthlessly coming after someone else from the industry with very clearly stated accusations. its so ugly but in Hollywood, you have actors and directors revealed as sex offenders or in lawsuits of sexual violence OR EVEN COMPLETELY OFF THE GRID unacceptable behavior and no one breathes out a word on it. its tradition directors take advantage of women to give them roles. tradtion to write naked scenes for women they want naked. but everyones tail is caught in everyones mouth, so people whose brands are wholesome or "progressive" stay silent to stay employed. its all very hushed.
ive never seen a man this popular and widely respected openly call another man a misogynist. like i said before, its not that Kendrick Lamar is some Feminist Scholar King, its that the action, the angle is surprisingly pro-woman. in times feminist sentiment gets so much backlash and is so unpopular with general audiences i was pleasantly surprised by the way he spoke of women. thats it.
