there are a lot of tests done before the brace comes off, and more afterwards, all to rule that there is no permanent neurological damage, nor any substantial damage to her lungs, her throat, her vocal chords. her voice will come out hoarse for a while, and the area affected may ache for a little, but it will heal on its own and it's no use to keep her in the hospital. katniss has no response to that, but her suspicions are confirmed when, not thirty minutes after her official discharge, she is told to receive the tattoo with her daily schedule — clear as day, the purple ink tells her to go to the control room. if the mockingjay can still sing, what use is it to worry about anything else, right?

it's easy to resume her patterns: find a place distant enough from everything and everyone, dark and small and quiet, hard-won privacy enough to allow her to wallow in self-hatred without the gaze and the demands of some dozen people who expect her to put on makeup to go on camera and lie, always lie. of course, her pretense of peace doesn't last. katniss can not tell for how long — she's half-mad and time is of no concern for those like her — but surely he comes. her daddy used to tell her a story of some animal charmers who always knew where to find them; he told her of a young lady with a songbird voice who knew how to draw snakes out of their dens, that the animals loved her. katniss wonders if haymitch knows of this sort of tale, if he's drawn to her misery, or if he's simply drawn the shortest stick of the lot so he has to search all around the district to find her squirreled in some corner.

she knows his step by heart now, so she closes her eyes and waits for what manner of convincing he will try now. katniss almost wishes he could come with a needle when she recognizes his weight dropping; he's sitting. well, that's worse. then the words leave his lips and it's worse. she wants to laugh, but that hurts, just a tad less than crying. "who is we, haymitch?" she looks straight at him. "that used to be the three of us, right? the happy folks of victor's village. none of us ain't ever been this happy before." what a trio they make, one more broken than the last.

Humans are only slightly shorter than cybertronians, when humans put the Cybertronians in their little pocket universe they made it so that the Cybertronians were bigger then everybody else, why? Because it’s funny. So when a human visits Cybertron they are the size of an average Cybertronians.

Humans or Y/N view Cybertronians as their children, as well as Primus AND Unicron. So if a scenario where the Lost Light has a human on board and they come across Unicron it’s going to be really weird for the crew because the human liaison is threatening Unicron with time out if he keeps doing what he’s doing (idk eating planets or smth) while Unicron is pouting and whining that he isn’t a kid anymore. While this exchange is happening the crew of the LL is both confused and horrified that this human is telling their version of Satan that they’re going to put them in time out.

The 13 original Primes where the only Cybertronians that knew Humans created them and since the Matrix of Leadership contains the knowledge of the past Primes this mean that Optimus knows that humans created his species.

Cybertronians were created as the next evolution of human robotics. The original 13 Primes were created to see just what they could do with the newly developed technology that was used to make Rung.

Scraplets act like dogs and/or cats around humans.

Every Cybertronian when they see a human and/or Y/N(The creator of their species) they subconsciously recognize them.

the reason why many Cybertronian alt modes have seats, steering wheels, cockpits, etc. is because they were originally made for human use.

I really like the idea of human being the same size as cybertronians in this AU, I've been thinking about for a long time actually. Also if we're the same size, that mean we're practically giants compared to everyone else in the pocket universe (aside cybertronians). Their alt-mode having seats, steering wheels, cockpit, ect also make so much sense as they're originally made for human's use. IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER.

Hnggggggggg-Domesticated Scraplets go brrrrrr, they're like tiny dogs/cats. Cybs be looking horrified as we pet those metal-eating pest that destroyed cities. Building an army of Scraplets and commanding them, i have no doubt some of you out there would try it. Shi, it'll be like minions and gru/j.

The bots getting that faint feeling of connection, they can't exactly put their digits onto it but it's there. It scares some and intrigue some, but they're all drawn to it in some way. What is it about these fleshies that feels... different? Yet familiar at the same time? Who are we to them?

Slowly, subconsciously, as if a long buried forgotten instinct surfaces. They started to listen more intently when we talk, when we indirectly or directly ask for something they fetch it for us, ect. It feels... right, like something clicked. It feels so right when we touch them, a small accidental brush, a handshake, or a friendly pat.

Before they knew it they started craving it, they feel like they lost their purpose when we're gone (like a vehicle being abandonded, left to rust and fall apart through time). It's scary and it's as uncanny as how much they yearn for a human's touch-

Megatron has seen his fair share of cannibalism even before the war, so the action itself isn't anything new to him

It's during the war that he sees it used as a freely chosen way to fight, instead of an act used by desperate bots

He, himself, has not done it and will probably not do it unless necessary

That you indulge in cannibalism discourages him little to pursue you

There are enough equally insane bots in his faction as that he doesn't really care any more in the later parts of war

If you wear the muzzle from your own freewill, he will get a rush of power every time he is reminded that you are his, and he has the control to take it off you and send you after his enemies

During the time of your relationship, he gets use to tasting raw Energon due to you often tasting like it

Tarn

Being a cannibal in the DJD is nothing special

You start of as normal teammates, really if anyone had expected a relationship than not between the two of you

But still it happens, and it's an awful thing for any traitor

While Tarn likes to keep a somewhat cultured appearance on the average, and doesn't like you eating in your shared quarters

When it comes to punishing traitors, he greatly enjoys talking in his voice about his beautiful and vicious girlfriend and complimenting your appearance while feeding you the matching parts of the traitor

It's a very sweet bonding activity in your optics

During your time together, you start and stop wearing muzzles again and again, purely for the effect it has on the traitors you hunt

Still, you can never fully decide to stick to wearing one or not

Overlord

As a Gladiator you earned a terrifying reputation of eating your defeated opponents, something that lead to you wearing a muzzle whenever not in the ring fighting

As you continue to win and get stronger, the ring overseer formed a plan to get rid of you, to stop the loss of more fighters and set you up in a match against the at that point, unbeaten fighter, Overlord

You did not beat him either, however, the overseer miscalculated in the way that Overlord and you knew each other, and he let you life in your defeat

When the war started, you followed Overlord, a deranged type of partnership having formed between the two of you

Becoming a Deception had nothing to do with ideology for you, rather you only joined because your partner did

You two gained a reputation quickly as you not only killed happily anything that moved, but also had the favour of Overlord eating his defeated enemies, often even while they were still half alive

Soundwave

Soundwave meets you long before the war starts

On the streets are many desperate bots that will do anything and everything to survive, including eating others

You kept to already offlined bots whenever you could, but there were a few times you ended someone weak

Anyway, you meet Soundwave as another bot on the streets

His companions are wary of you as he is too, but over time and reoccurring run-ins with each other you get closer

When Soundwave suddenly vanishes, you assume he offlined

Life gets even tougher, and you end up with a few more crimes under your belt ending with you in a cell, muzzled for your tendency to get fuel through offlined bots

You only get free once the war breaks out and join the Decepticons, learning only then that Soundwave is still online

As old friends you hit it off and some time into the war even become a couple

Soundwave is also the one to free you of your muzzle, if the enforcers weren't already offlined he would have killed them for this

i've had yet another thought! this one regarding Kei's fuinjutsu.

it occurred to me that while the Bats have some impressive gear protecting them from Most of the threats they face, they got jack shit capable of protecting their squishy bodies from hostile bijuu chakra on the off-chance they come into physical contact with it.

i figure the Bats primary objective when facing an angry jinchuriki is something like "Let Genbu and/or a Super handle it, stay out of range, focus on civilians, etc etc", but as with any fight, shit happens, and a squishy Bat might get got.

so i'm wondering, would Kei be able to put seals on their armor to give it some chakra resistance? i don't actually remember if this is something seals can do, tbh, like using them to "enchant" armor lol, and idk if Kei would have dabbled in that area of fuinjutsu.

but now that Naruto's been yoinked into this world, Kei would figure pretty quickly that jinchuriki were being targeted, and maybe start panicking over the possibility of even more jinchuriki wreaking havoc. and bubbling the Bats every time they get too close might not be too feasible if they're all determined to pitch in.

so i can imagine her scribbling drafts of "armor enchantments" or something like that. is that something she could/would do? oooor would the inert chakra in the seals put more of a target on anyone wearing it?

(also, sorry if i keep spamming your inbox, both of your CYB/Batman crossovers are just incredible and make me wanna rotate all the details and "what ifs" in my head like a rotisserie chicken 😂)

I, ah, couldn't quite figure out how to give a response to some of this without feeling like I smacked straight into spoiler territory, so it's kinda been a few months since this was sent in thanks to the power of writer's block. Whoops.

For the most part, the Bats are entirely willing to get into scraps even with people who thoroughly outmatch them physically, because those opponents almost never have the skill or cunning to really get around the tools a whole clan of detectives prefers. They probably shouldn't, but if these people ever operated solely what was sensible, there wouldn't be a Batman at all.

That said, magical equipment would be nice. Kei hasn't yet figured out the trick to making her more complicated fuinjutsu compatible with them, though. Most of them either need asource of chakra to prime it (barriers, etc.) or an ignition source (bombs), so she's gotta do more weapons' development. She's putting it off a bit until she can work more with Isobu's coral, which can at least do one of those things.

Kei hasn't had enough time to dig through the investigation, but there is a specific suspect for the summoning situation. The Justice League has already run into evidence of the other bullshit the problematic party gets up to, but they haven't got a solid name or location yet.

#52: Return to Hadron E2 (2017)

Feel familiar?

Not only am I doing back-to-back E2 replacements, but I'm continuing Cannonball's fine Hadron trilogy. We last saw this in #18 and oh boy was I different then. Hadron E1 is still one of my favorite E1 replacements, but I've still never beaten this until this morning.

If E1 was all about making techbases seem huge and ominous with a newschool flair, E2 revolves around making the most of the weapons you have available and creating a hornet's nest of sorts to buzz around while the action unfolds. The first few maps - let's say M1 to M3, are pretty straightforward, at least on HNTR. Flesh Start and Logistics Complex are simple key hunts that aesthetically do the job and add some fun gimmicks here or there such as only having a chainsaw at the start or enforcing Tyson gameplay for a bit. Comm Center is a bit of a resource starvation experiment, with its caco-swarm being the main threat, BUT E2M4 and beyond is where this set starts to get a little more bonkers and experimental.

M4's Mortuary is a nonlinear dark grungy fight for your life, but it's just a taste of things to come. M5 is pretty laid-back actually, just big. But the secret map and onwards all have at least 1 boss monster.

M9's Descent Into Darkness continues the 'Return to Hadron' trend of slaughtery Doom 1 maps by literally starting you in a narrow downward-moving elevator with a Cyb to kill with the BFG. Hordes come out from the dark, and it's your job to run around like a chicken with its head cut off until the job is done. Things only get wackier from here.

I feel like M6, Aqueduct of Agony also could've been a good secret map slot. It's another Cyberdemon dungeon crawl, this time taking place on hurt-floors. Core Processor, the penultimate map of the set, is probably the one most 'Hadron E1' lovers can get behind, it has all the hallmarks of an epic - high monstercount, huge nonlinearity, and plenty of meat to cut through. Surprisingly, I found this to be one of the easier maps of the set.

The set ends with something not too dissimilar from the secret map, perhaps a bit more slaughtery and newschool but carrying the same thematics.

Hadron E2 is a major step up in quality and shows more experimentation with the Doom 1 engine, Cannonball showing restraint in not just making leviathans of maps for its runtime, and everything is solidly put together.

Two Coaches, One Lasting Impact: How These Two Coaches Changed The Game For Me

A great quote that I heard once was that ““The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” We all desire to leave a legacy and impact those that we develop a close relationship with. A coach’s legacy, their true legacy, is not measured by trophies or titles or their winning percentage, but by the mark that they leave on the lives of their players. When I reflect on my playing days of baseball, I realize that it is impossible to tell that story without recognizing the influence of two coaches that I had during that time. When it comes to Coaches Steve Greenwood and Wendy Grove, the impact that these coaches have had on me has been felt for long after the final inning I played for them. Not only did they help shape my approaches to the game, but they left me with lessons that transcend the game of baseball. Some coaches teach you the game, but you will be lucky to have one or two if any at all that help shape the way you approach life.

When I moved to Cheshire, Connecticut, the first youth baseball team that I played for was under Coach Steve Greenwood. Living in a new state and playing on a team with no one that I knew was very uncomfortable for me, as it would be for most people. Little did I know that this is the team that would give me some of my best friends, a few of which I still consider family today. Coach Greenwood was vital in making me feel welcome when I was so new. Coach Greenwood had a deep, deep love for the game of baseball. Like me, he had moved when he was young and found stability in baseball, and was one of the most passionate Red Sox fans that I’ve ever known. His love for Dustin Pedroia translated to him sticking me, one of the shorter kids on the team, at second base. Like Pedroia, he emphasized determination and hard work rather than just natural talent. I was and still consider myself to be very unathletic, but Coach Greenwood refused to let me not have confidence in myself while I was on his team. It was no coincidence that in the several years in which he was my coach, I had the best chemistry with my teammates and was able to perform better than I ever thought that I could.

What I had lost in moving to Connecticut was quickly found again on that first team, and I couldn’t be more thankful to Coach Greenwood for everything that he did for me and countless other kids. Steve Greenwood was not just my baseball coach, but was also the Director of Youth Umpires for Cheshire Youth Baseball. It was him that encouraged me to get into umpiring, which served as a great chance for me to stay connected with baseball after I decided that I was done playing. Coach Greenwood passed away unexpectedly in June of 2023, and the loss of such a figure was felt throughout not just Cheshire Youth Baseball, but through the whole town. A memorial tournament was held in his honor to reflect and appreciate everything that he had done for the town and for CYB, and I am truly thankful that I got to be a part of his impact. 

Later on in my time in Cheshire Youth Baseball, I was fortunate enough to have been coached by Wendy Grove. For Coach Wendy, her energy was palpable from the second you stepped onto the field with her. Unlike every other coach that I had ever had, she was a woman. In a sport that has been dominated by men for so long, she took that step to being a coach, even if only at a younger level of baseball. There were times where I could tell that some of the parents of other kids on my team were less than thrilled that a woman was coaching their son. Coach Wendy, being as headstrong as she is, blocked out all of the noise and was the most focused, driven, and passionate coach that I have ever had the pleasure of having. While Coach Greenwood took a more laid-back approach to coaching, Coach Wendy was no-nonsense. This didn’t mean that she couldn’t have fun and enjoy the moment, but her attention to detail is what truly separated her from every other coach that I had. She stressed the importance of fundamentals, and she hammered out every detail, from footwork to the bat-swing path to the first jump when stealing a base. She strove for perfection in every facet of our game, and that mentality was ingrained in us from then on. 

Although my time with both of these coaches has come and gone, I will never forget the life lessons that were weaved into their ways of coaching. These two coaches gave me more than just baseball skills, they taught me the value of overcoming challenges and teamwork. Their approaches to coaching invigorated my love for baseball, and I will always carry their influence with me. The best coaches you can have do not only prepare you for the game, but for the rest of your life.

“Who asks weird and complicated questions in the middle of the night?”

Tails for sure, bless. He’s the mechanic of the group, meaning he definitely has a lot of complicated thoughts in general, if his usual technobabble speeches are anything to go by. 

We’re shown he’s also quite thoughtful and prone to sharing his observations, two traits that can and will lead to him voicing out whatever thought flies through his head while he’s laying on bed. 

The questions range from "Wouldn’t it be cool if I tried to make a plane work with only one wing?" to "Do you think there are living creatures that are inherently undeserving of love?", depending on his mood for the night (inventor creativity and the kind of existential dread that only ever hits people at like, 2 in the morning, respectively).

Sonic tends to bounce off Tails’ ideas and give his own views on the question, because he loves talking with Tails. Well, to the best of his ability, that is; if difficult science jazz comes up he’s just gonna have to call it a day lol. And if any clearly negative question comes up, he's gonna answer with a hug instead.

I think Tails would like talking things out with Sonic, because he has pretty clear-cut opinions and a casual attitude to go with almost anything. It makes their late night conversations be really chill, usually :)

I honestly would say this one goes both ways!

When I read this question, the first scene that popped into my mind was that one Sonic Colours cutscene that I believe happened after shutting down the last generator. Sonic and Tails were commenting on what they should do once they stopped Eggman’s plans at the park, I think? And Sonic went, “let’s just go to a different park”, to which Tails replied “one that’s less evil than this one”. 

That simple exchange sent them both into such goofy chuckling, it was adorable. To me it’s a perfect representation of the way they make each other laugh. They both love teasing each other a bit and playing around with jokes, so usually, if one of them is smiling, the other one will be too.

This also plays into the ‘I’m happy if the person I love is’ trope, which just fits so well for them. Making the other crack out a nice laugh is part of their love language, and they’re both pretty good at it.

“Who hugs the other from behind?”

Sonic, of course! Not only because he loves how fluffy his partner's tails are, but because Tails can't really hug him from behind at all. Them hedgehog quills are really sharp at the tips, I bet xD

It’s much more comfortable for both of them if Sonic is the only one that does hugs from behind, thanks to their anatomy and height difference. Honestly, it’s like they’re built for this position in particular.

Sonic can just casually rest his chin on Tails’ shoulder while he works on his gadgets, and Tails himself can relax while nestled in Sonic’s arms. That way the affectionate gesture isn’t being disruptive or difficult for either of them.

“Who's more protective?”

They both would take a bullet for the other, no questions asked, but Sonic is the one that will always act more outwardly protective of Tails. It's in his nature.

He tends to have pretty intense reactions when he learns Tails got hurt or something happened to him, which feeds into my view.

In Boom cartoon he wants Tails to stop being his sidekick after he gets injured one (1) time, to make sure he won’t get hurt again. In Lost World he's actively pissed off and hating on the antagonists when Tails gets kidnapped. He was going through cyber corruption damnation during Frontiers and still held out for him.

Even in IDW comics, which I’m not particularly fond of, there’s a panel where Sonic tries to fight off Silver’s psychokinesis power just to run to Tails’ side after a battle... He’s clearly the traditionally protective one out of the two in every universe they’re together. And it warms my heart so much.

Part of it comes from the fact Tails is the most important person to Sonic -- of course he needs to keep him safe. The fact Sonic is slightly older than him (I personally see Tails around 12 and Sonic as 15-16) probably makes him feel a bit responsible, too. 

“Who embarrasses the other in public with kisses and pet names?”

Sonic! After they start dating, I headcanon that calling Tails bud/buddy/bro/etc. like he used to becomes a sort of jokey pet name, since now they’re outright ‘partners’ and equals in every sense of the word.

Naturally, Sonic still loves using those friendzone nicknames, though, so it’s like a running gag only the two of them get. lmao.

Sonic’s also the one to initiate any kissing most of the time, especially in public. Tails doesn’t mind PDA all that much, now, don’t get me wrong. But he knows Sonic is someone that really needs his space and freedom respected, so he just feels more comfortable when Sonic is the one starting the affection in public, since it means both of them want it at the time.

Sonic obviously appreciates him a lot for being so considerate of their relationship. And he shows it through kissing and holding Tails’ hand whenever he feels like it (spoiler: it happens a lot), usually attempting to catch him off-guard to get him as embarrassed as possible. 

Ahhhgh, talking of their dynamic makes me so happy, it’s making me want to continue writing my fics for them ;;;; I can’t wait to be done with my exams.

Thinking about how Night City is a character in Cyberpunk 2077, it’s such a big part of everything. Like how Tokyo is a character in Lost in Translation, Midnight in Paris, so many Batman movies Gotham is almost the main character. That kinda thing. This is a lot of thoughts so I’m putting it behind a cut! 

I feel like the characters, how they all relate to and react to the city is part of what defines them. If they love it or hate it, want to stay or leave, they’re all built by it. And NC itself as a character, as something that never changes. If the other characters have arcs, develop, NC doesn’t, it’s a constant. Streetkid V left NC to go to Atlanta but they came back home, it wasn’t better anywhere else. In their conversation with Padre, they talk about how NC and Haywood in particular never change, “ever watered by the same blood”. It has its own will and intention, “You're either somebody on you fizzle out into nothin'. Night City don't let you choose.” - it’s not the people, it’s not the system, it’s the city itself. It imposes its will on you, it doesn’t give you a quiet life, you go out in a blaze of glory like Johnny, or you’re nothing and nobody. This pushes everyone, constantly, to be making these fucked up decisions, doing things that risk their lives for the benefit of the city, for the glory of the city. Jackie dies for a name, Johnny dies trying to make a change. V’s only redemption is to give up trying to live up to the whims of the city and go their own way. 

Johnny struggles with the same-ness of NC, he’s come back after sacrificing himself for the cause - make some real change, take down Arasaka, shake up the world. He says “Night City never changes. Arasaka's still a despotic machine and the world's on a collision course with chaos.” In the mission the Ballad of Buck Ravers, he’s annoyed about meeting his biggest fan because he’s clinging to the past, listening to the same old songs, saying the same old phrases but making no impact. He says he “Blew Saka tower to smithereens, and it’s still standing. Just the same.” He wants people to change, wants the city to change but it just doesn’t. It’s the same shit with different packaging. After giving everything up, it made no difference at all. 

Judy only finds peace when she leaves. In her conversations with V via text she sends V a photo of herself by a campfire and from her grandparents house, she’s happy for the first time ever. Night City displaced her from her childhood home, destroyed it, and then ate her alive. She was so unhappy and you could feel it all the time, her tense, hunched over posture, her grief, her guardedness. Out on the world, she’s happy. Night City eats her up and spits her out. 

River's identity as a cop is tied to being a city official. But his family were failed by that same system, victims of violent crime, and that trauma is so high up in his consciousness he tells the whole story to V after only knowing them for a short time. His sister and her children have an ‘ok’ life in a trailer park in the suburbs, but he’s absent because he dedicates everything to NC and his work. He’s left disillusioned when he discovers his fellow officers are corrupt, he has to untangle his identity from NC and find a new path. He wants to make they city better, to make a difference, and maybe he can do that on an individual level, but I felt like he was never going to make an impact on a larger scale. This reminds me of Batman and Gotham too - wanting to fix the city’s ills but ultimately the city remains the same, it’s too resilient to these attempts to change it, it bounces back. So his new identity is as a PI, but I think more importantly as someone who’s actually present for his family. 

The Aldecados, they define themselves as outside of NC and better for it. Nomad V and Panam come to NC to seek their fortune, to make it big, but I feel like both of them find their happiest endings when they leave again and go back to the nomad life. Obviously, in a cyberpunk world, there’s not many happy endings going around, but I feel like this is the ‘best’ outcome for V, living their remaining days in the badlands, free from NC’s destructive influence. Because making it big in Night City, that doesn’t mean a good life or a fulfilling life, it means an ending with a bang, an exciting death that people will remember you for. Like Jackie. 

People talk a lot about how Night City is a lonely place, Judy says she was lonely and V says “like everyone in Night City”, Panam says she doesn’t miss the “emptiness... the feeling of realising it means nothing if you’re alone.” Kerry seems to me like the loneliest guy in NC, in his gated villa, all alone, like someone’s had a party a long time ago and not cleaned up, looking down over the city but not a part of it. But still, Kerry is totally attached to Night City. He says “Night City's a city of shadows. Done everything I could to walk clear of 'em for years.” Kerry’s shadows are the shadows of the past, of Johnny, of living literally in Johnny’s shadow for years, of his own feelings of inadequacy. Johnny says NC is the “only place you fall asleep thinkin' you're special, then wake up knowin' you're no one.” Maybe V helps Kerry drive away some of those shadows, but he won’t leave with you if you ask him to, it’s the end of your relationship if you try. The shadows aren’t going to just go away anyway, Arasaka Tower still stands, Night City doesn’t change. He’s just not done walking among the shadows.

(1) What was your first impression of the game? Is this the first Cybird game you've ever played? First Cybird game, indeed! I was really intrigued by the dateable "historical figures" angle more than the vampire aspect. I went in with a curious history nerd mentality. I didn't know much about any of the historical figures themselves, so I was interested to see how they'd spin them into otome men.

(2) Who was the character you liked most in the beginning, and is he still your fave? The way Leonardo and I locked eyes for the first time was like something out of a fairytale. There was no other option than him right from the start. Vincent was a close second, and then Dazai way later, but they've been friend-zoned. Leonardo retains his husband role.

(3) How you picked your first route, and whose route was it? Was your favorite suitor available when you first started playing? I was very lucky that Leonardo's route already had voice acted scenes by the time I joined. It was a fun escape from the rough isolation time I was going through back then (summer 2020, aka lockdown). I'm happy that Vincent was also available cuz he was my instant second pick.

(4) An unavailable route you're looking forward to: I stopped keeping up with ikevamp after finishing Sebas' route 😔😔😔 Out of the two new bois, I think I'm more curious about Francis Drake.

(5) A character you thought would be different than how he is: HMMM… It has to be Vlad, and maybe Shakespeare, too. I wanted villains, but Cyb had other plans I suppose. I haven't read Vlad's route yet, but his vibe is very different from how he was set up in previous routes.

(6) Is there a suitor who you used to dislike, but eventually changed your opinion about? Probably Arthur. When I look at him as a mystery nerd rather than a playboy love interest, he became more appealing for me to explore as a writer. I have Future Plans for him, but who knows when that will see the light of day 😅😅😅

(7) Do you remember your first story event? I started the game during the 1st year anniversary event 🤔🤔 what was the first story event after that hmm… I focused more on kiss events since those needed planning and you got to save the stories forever. I definitely went all out for those (my precious spreadsheets…)

(8) Have you ever spent money on the game? Have you tried the free diamonds offers? I USED TO COMPLETE OFFERS ALL THE TIME. In the first year, the offers were easy to do, some time-consuming but with good enough pay off. I may have spent… once 👉🏻👈🏻 for Leo's "Since the Day We Kissed" POV story.

(9) Do you have a favorite avatar item? Is it a plushie or maybe a unique hairstyle? I made a lot of avatar rooms!! Tho I'm not that big on collecting avatar stuff (I did go all out ONCE for Vincent during an election event and burned out completely ahah). There's SO MANY pretty dresses in this game. My favorite item tho has to be the "Chocolate Brown Braided Updo" which you get from Leonardo's Route, Avatar Challenge, Ch 10 (yus I looked it up).

(10) Have you ever bought merch of your favorite ikevamp character? Not bought, but a dear friend of mine gifted me Leonardo and Vincent merch 💕💕💕 They're where I can see them everyday and they make me happy

(11) Have you ever mistakingly spent your stamina not in the story event? All. The. Time. cries It happens every event, no matter what

(12) What's the luckiest you've ever been when it comes to the gacha? What about your most unlucky memory? My luckiest was getting Leonardo's yukata card!! Followed by the rose coffin one!! 😍😍😍 Any and every Leonardo card is a Lucky Card, indeed. My unluckiest venture was my attempt at getting Leo's 4th bday card, having saved up 4*-guarantee tokens and a handful of regular tokens too…I failed miserably. 😒😒 Leonardo only seems to come home when I pull for gacha at 5am.

(13) The slowliest you've ever completed a route vs the quickest: I typically spent the standard month on a route (reading a chapter per day), but I remember skipping through the second half of Shakes' route, so I ACTUALLY DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. It's lowkey frustrating but I have little motivation to actually…read it… despite unlocking both endings.

(14) Do you use your 5 free chapter tickets daily? Used to! Very diligently! I haven't read a chapter since the first day of Vlad's release (I'm 2 chapters in, apparently).

(15) A moment in a route that made you cry and a moment in a route that made you laugh: Hmmmmmm I feel a lil sad that my memory of most routes is blurred now. Any scene about Sebas and his diary made me laugh, anytime The Funny Music played (if you play with sound, you know the one), I knew I was in for a Funny Time, it's what got me hooked on the story in the first place, how silly it all is. As for crying, I'll never forget how frustrated I was with the second half of Vincent's route, that's for sure.

(16) Who is your favorite pureblood vampire? As characters, I actually really like all three cuz they show/ represent different perspectives on the "pureblood vampire" experience in this universe. In my mind, I've been exploring my own interpretations of the characters, extending from canon, so I perceive them very differently from how they're presented in the game.

(17) Do you have a favorite CG? What about a favorite card? Leo's 3rd bday card 🥺🥺🥺🥺 It has the cutest line!! "Hey! What am I supposed to do if you blow out my candles? Sigh.." It paints such a cute scene in my mind that it makes me happy whenever I read it. + Leo's 2nd bday CG where he's all BLUSHYYYY. Aside from Leo, I really like Shakes's "carrying MC" poses. And that one Dazai CG where he drops his clown facade, "Smoke of the Past".

(18) Any famous historical figures you wished were in ikevamp? WELL, whenever I may decide to return to the Ikevamp' universe, I want to explore Gilbert & Sullivan (Theatre partners) as vampire hunters. I learned about them in Music History class and thought they'd make a fun bantering duo.

(19) What card is currently on your home screen in the game? Leo's Rose Coffin, Leo's Restaurant Date, Leo's new King of Vampires card who replaced Leo's Yukata card.

(20) What do you think about the suitors' pets? Which one is your favorite? I love the pets!! They deserve more spotlight!!! Brush is my homie, I love that Vincent washes his paint brushes with his petto. I like all the pets that have a presence in the main story, like Vic in Arthur's route.

All in all, I still love the Ikevamp universe, even though I've mostly moved on to Twisted Wonderland as my daily game. Still, I still have stories I wanna tell with these boys, so I'm not detaching completely just yet 🥺🥺🥺 I'm just not drawn to the romance in the game anymore, but the worldbuilding…now that's something I wanna dig into more 👀🌟✨✨

okay so my guess for which nine-tailed jinchuriki. you don't have to say if i'm right of course but i think it's Naruto. he's like, what, five now? it's been so long since you published the CYB chapter when he was born (and like a million other things happened that night 🥲) but i vaguely remember Kei being 14-ish? maybe?

my reasoning: 1) Kushina should have way more control over Kurama, so i'm not sure she'd even be able to (unwillingly) enter V2 mode. .... but that does raise the question of, if it IS Kushina, what the fuck pushed her to that?? but yeah mostly i just don't remember her ever doing V2 in CYB or OSF.

also, 1.5) i cannot imagine Kushina and Bruce being in the same room without some kinda consequences. her patience for emotionally constipated men would be incredibly limited lol, she'd either have him hiding away or she'd speedrun the whole "Fix your relationship with your SON before I BECOME HIS MOM" deal.

that said, i think Kushina and Alfred would be best buddies. idk if Alfred knows Japanese, but assuming he does, they'd be too powerful together lololol

2) if it's Naruto, then that's maximum emotional pain and plot drama/shock value for both Kei and also kinda Bruce. bc not only has a child been ripped away from his family and thrust into an unfamiliar and hostile world, the V2 cloak tends to burn the jinchuriki's skin off right? so upon Kei getting Kurama to chill, Bruce would see a small child in incredible pain and we all know that kids are his ultimate weakness. plus he'd want to interrogate Kei about it, since jinchuriki are supposed to be "weapons" and this is a whole ass child and what the FUCK is going on in her home world that this is a relatively normal thing??? Keisuke. Keisuke please tell me this isn't normal. What do you MEAN there's another one his age???

and for Kei, she suddenly has a part of her family with her, but Naruto doesn't deserve this at all. with Kushina, Kei could at least get a sense of security, bc that's her adopted mom who is stupidly smart and might be able to help figure out how to get back home. but Naruto would unfortunately add more problems. at least Isobu would have a sibling to talk to either way.

and 3) yeah, a baby jinchuriki wouldn't have a whole lot of control over Kurama in this kind of situation. and Kurama, being less dickish thanks to Kushina and Kei this time around, would probably get super protective of Naruto getting yoinked to another dimension, and if they met hostility upon arrival, then Kurama would 100% start swinging

4) this one is more of "i think this would be adorable" and that is Naruto being added to the Wayne household. the SHENANIGANS! the panicking Bruce and/or Alfred when a bored Naruto gets up to stuff. Tim potentially bonding with a high energy child (imagine the PRANKS!!)

and i know Naruto is too young to have mastered his "talk-no-jutsu" but there's nothing like a small child to forcefully pull a family together, he'd have a pretty solid chance of getting past Bruce's emotional walls (those walls wouldn't necessarily be knocked down, Naruto would just find a metaphorical "window" in a wall, stick his head through, and yell at Bruce to come out and play. how could Bruce resist??)

so yeah, my guess (or maybe just hope?) is Naruto. i really wasn't expecting other jinchuriki to show up, so i wonder if this is gonna be like in Ocean Stars Falling? lol now i'm picturing the Wayne Manor getting filled with nine more over-powered shinobi and Bruce banging his head on a wall for the stress of it. he and Doctor Fate would certainly have their hands full!

So, funny story, I couldn't figure out a way to respond to this without giving up a spoiler for chapter 13, so I held off for two weeks despite wanting to say MANY THINGS.

And here we are.

I did genuinely think about having Kushina along, but it was one of those choices that would have reduced the tension because Kushina would be someone Kei could confide basically everything in. On top of being more in-sync with her version of Kurama, she actually doesn't go wild the same way an inexperienced host does.

I'm aware that the Minato-centric bonus manga indicated that if anything, canon!Kushina was way less experienced than even Kei in her first couple of weeks. Like "real chance of going berserk if she steps foot out of the village without her bodyguards" inexperienced. It's simply not the case in CYB.

Then I thought about Naruto as a four-year-old, but then remembered that Kei could probably not be trusted with too much more stress. Sparkpulse Lore: Newsparks

Any cybetronian life is born from pods growing in Hot Spots. First the pod takes in mechon from the core of the planet (where dead bodies are smelted) and over times creates a protoform.

(Which is a thing I changed recently, before all protoforms were creating in the core.)

The protoform needs a spark to finish its development, and normally sparks don't recognise biolmetalic life as a suitable vessel for them. This is why this type of life depends on their Planet Titan, to put spark into protoforms.

In Cybertronian case Bumblebee is doing this job (or any overseer of the Spire when he was "dead" to activate AllSpark to run this protocol) and after a cyb finish their development inside the pod, it opens like a flower.

A Newspark is born with basic life and social skills (thanks to forging dream - a simulation that they go thought as soon as spark root itself into protoform) and maturity level is the same as human young adults.

They don't immediately leave the Hot Spot, bc they instinctively know it's a safe place. First, they try their body and what it can do (and they also need to detach themselves from the pod. They connected by 6 cords coming from the pod to their back. Once disconnected, the pod closes), if there are several other cybs born at the same time (which happens often) they bond with each other.

But they can't stay long in Hot Spot, so they have to get moving. There is an information displayed in Hot Spots for Newsparks saying where is nearest town and what to do, but also very often ppl from nearby towns come to check if there are newspark to escort them.

From this point newsparks go through a learning period that usually lasts for 20 years. They hone their social skills, their surviving skills, they get education and explore the world. Mentors aren't really a thing, thought some mechs could choose to mentor a newspark. Usually, the local community helps out with all this.

One visible thing that can tell you if a mech is a newspark are those ports on the back, with molting they gradually disappear in first 15 years.

During the period newsparks also can't take big jobs (or send on serious missions if it's during war), so if a cyb has an established job that means they are past this period, with maturity of 30+ year old human.

Fan fact: some Newsparks has their ports hidden under the cockpit or other elements. Like it was in Windblade's case. So when Ratchet examined Bumblebee for the first time, he noticed other signs of Bee's age like "freshens" of his plating and inner components. And since Bee also has a cockpit on his back, Ratchet never bothered to check there.

But if he did, he would see that Bee doesn't have any because he's a Cold Construct.

1- Are You Named After Anyone?

"I had to pick my name on a little bit of a... Well the situation wasn't the best and I couldn't exactly keep going by my designation with everything going on with..." They waved an arm in a sweeping, all-encompassing gesture. "So, yeah, there was this kid who wanted dumplings and broccoli and I just... borrowed that name."

2- When Was The Last Time You Cried?

"Technically I can't cry. I've always been a little jealous that humans can do that."

3- Do You Have Any Kids?

"Can I claim the Resistance kids that I care for? Or is that too abstract? I dunno, maybe one day I could adopt to raise. It's not safe for me right now, really, so I don't think too much about whether I really want that or not."

4- Do You Use Sarcasm?

"Never!" The serious face doesn't last long before Blue erupts into giggles. "Far more than I should. I don't think I was meant to be able to but," a shrug, "that hardly matters anymore."

5- What's The First Thing You Notice About People?

"Threat level. Which is really sad. You spend enough time on the run and it becomes instinctive. After that, though, it's whether I think they're able to change-- Everyone is, technically, I s'pose I mean willing more than able. Maybe that's part of their threat level."

"Dark. I was supposed to have blue eyes, same as everyone else but I guess they ran out."

"Happy endings, I get enough scaring whenever I leave the base."*

"I'm very good at pretending to be a Gen-5 cyb' -- you may be thinking that you wouldn't count that considering. But you've clearly forgotten that I wasn't designed to act like that. And, even if I was, there's The Crash to consider."

"Born is a strong word. I was made in one of the facilities, just like everyone else like me. But me as Blue, I consider myself to have started existing with The Crash, in which case, I was at work."

10- What Are Your Hobbies?

"Gardening, primarily. I don't get half as much time to dedicate to it as I might like. There's just something about organic life, about root systems and connections that appeals. I wonder sometimes how much of that is in my design."

11- Do You Have Any Pets?

"I tried to start a beehive once, but the bees I stole just died so... I probably should have done more research before bee-thiefing. I was still getting used to the loss of the communal databank back then. Maybe I should convince Toria to send someone for bees again."

"Sports? I run a lot, but mostly away from danger. I, uh, also climb a lot, but, again... Danger."

"Right in the middle of average. Everyting average."

"I never went to school, and I haven't looked into the schooling we offer on the base but I think it would have been art. Or gardening, is that a subject? I loved it when Gok taught me about gardening."

Just saw that CYB updated on a random midnight and I am beyond excited! Moth? Moth! Moth! You would not believe how excited I am right now, I've read the chapter and will go ahead and do so again sometime this week, but as of now, it has made my entire month. I came accross this fic almost two years ago and it rotates in mind once a day at the very least since then. The tension? The politics? The way you've written Tobira as a person consistently at war with himself involving his skewed self-evaluations and the immeasurable amount of care he has for others? THE SIBLING DYNAMICS? Brilliant, amazing, showstopping, one of a kind, never been done before. Sorry about the entire wall of text but i just wanted to pop in and let you know how much this story and your other works (that mdtb soulmate au has had by the throat for a long time, and I didn't even know that was YOU? it was like being in awe of a person and their secret vigilante persona at the same time only to find out they were one and the same? 01 + A sweeter Optimus, but he’s not a push over. He’s relatively quiet and reserved, a responsible leader, but he likes to let loose with you. The most vanilla Optimus, aside from Animated, because he’s more focused on the war. He’ll still indulge you with a rousing car fucking every now and then. It’s not that he doesn’t have kinkier interests, it’s that he doesn’t have time. Every time you two get into it, there’s always some human incident going on or some Con coming to stir shit up.

02 + A service-type of guy. Likes overload denial, especially if it involves getting you off and then you making him wait or even full denying him an overload. He just gets to sexually satisfy you while he has blue ball bearings. Maybe he likes punishment. Maybe he’s just into the idea of being at your beck and call.

03 + The best version of Optimus when it comes to oral. It’s why the battle mask is a must. Protect the goods.

04 + Really into spark-play to overload. Just let your fingers dip and trace the crevices of his spark chamber, work him up again and again, until he’s ready to combust. It’s the most vulnerable any bot can be and he craves to have someone he’s completely secure with.

05 + Even if you don’t have a praise kink, that’s the only way Optimus knows how to show his love. He’ll praise everything about you until you’re smothered with self-confidence. He’s praising you with his glossa between your legs and his mouth preoccupied. He just loves you so much, adores you, can’t get enough of you, and you need to know with words. You never know when Optimus could be offlined, one fatal incident, and he is fully aware of this.

01 +  Voted most likely to be very rough and dom with you. After the war, he stops putting up the front that he’s a reliable leader without faults. No one is depending on him not to get them slaughtered, so he’s more willing to fuck around with what he wants to do.

02 + You know what, probably even during the war he was rough and domineering. He’s a guy with a lot on his shoulders and a lot of regrets. He’s the most flawed of the different Optimuses (probably, although you’re welcome to debate it) so he’s got a ton of baggage he just wants to fuck out of his system.

03 + Running from his thoughts right between your loving thighs. You’re how he forgets about the world, how he tries to maintain a semblance of control, so he maybe takes advantages of the things you let him do.

04 + What the fuck is protection? He never pulls out. Pull out game is so weak. Will always overload inside and has no self control.

05 + Not really into choking his lover, but does like the easy way he can guide you by the neck.

06 + But he’s not some bastard. As much time as he spends roughing you up and fucking you, he spends twice that on aftercare and loving you. He’s only complete when you’re holding him. Needs to talk after sex it’s how he relaxes into recharge.

01 + Responsible and straight-forward. As much as he knows he shouldn’t get involved with you, there’s no time like the present and he’s not guaranteed tomorrow. He will be very blunt about what he wants. Not for a lack of caring, but because he maybe cares too much.

02 + Always plans sex but will leave you gasping each time. You can prep yourself as much as you want, there’s no way you can ever brace fully for what Optimus can do to you.

03 + Spends a long time working you up to a fit, and will tease you for it too. He’s playful in berth and likes to draw it out for a big finish. It’s supposed to be light-hearted stress relief between friends.

04 + Doesn’t want to get as attached to you as he does, though, because he can’t pick favorites among his crew and friends. There’s a part of him that wishes you could live a life without him, because peace seems impossible even if he talks it up in front of others. But it’s too late. He get’s tunnel vision when he sees you. There’s no one else that could matter

05 + During peace time, semi-public sex is often. Look he’s restoring shit, you’re helping, one thing leads to another. BAM! You’re fuckin in an alley or against a statue or right next to a rebuilt business.
