Wes Weston: IRS.
Wes Weston is used to billionaires having sketchy finances. An offshore account here, and offshore account there-- A second home in a tax haven. He's never seen books like Wayne Enterprise's before.
"What even is BASE jumping? Why do they have a whole Applied Sciences department with only one guy working in it?" Wesley Weston had questions for Bruce Wayne. Questions he would get answered, if the billionaire was ever actually in his office. This was why he found himself rumbling up to the Wayne's well manicured, monoculture lawn in an only slightly questionable Uber.
"Wes Weston, IRS," he whispers, practicing under his breath before knocking on the door. "Wes Weston. IRS," he says more confidently, fumbling to get his badge out of his pocket. The door swung open, and he jumped. Goddamn rich people with their motion detecting doorbells.
"Dick Grayson, Blüdhaven P.D."
---
Wes Weston stood back from his cork board as rain pelted his hotel room window.
"Holy ghost. Bruce Wayne is the fucking Batman."

Tumblr media
for 1. most people are gonna take advantage of black friday and wont see your specific niche tumblr post, I hate to say it
2. the us isnt running out of money for war any time soon, so...
3. this is just antisemitism???????? all we need is some (((echoes))) around the us and israel and then I'd have no reason to suspect otherwise from op...............
#why in tf do you think they care that much about getting your money rn and not before in any other war?#does it. mayhaps. have something to do w jewish people being involved now?#our tax dollars go to the govt regardless and has been for years and we already have an obscene amount of funding for military shit#preeetty sure they're not concerned about getting a couple hundred tumblr users money...#and also pretty sure one could only believe that if they're paranoid about jewish ppl.................#hard not to put two and two together and figure out op is prolly antisemitic and hopefully they just dont realize it#i say hopefully they dont realize it bc thats better than someone who knows and is pretending to be a leftist still.#if anything this pause happened bc its thanksgiving and biden doesnt wanna think about it over the holidays. thats p much it.#thats the only amount of conspiracy theory im willing to believe in this situation lmao.#but that ^ still assumes that biden has some sort of control over this that he really doesnt#and i dont think netanyahu cares that much about thanksgiving tbr...#it sounds more like to me that op is seeing this from a very american centric pov and assumes everyone celebrates thanksgiving#or cares enough about it to remember the dates.... i dont think this is as planned as op is making it out to be and any insinuation#that it IS planned sounds like conspiracy theory talk to me personally. i dont think biden is hittin netanyahu up and going#'hey thursday is thanksgiving and would be the perfect time to pause so we can (((get peoples money))) out of them#asiftheUSdoesnthaveplentyalready' like i just really dont think that convo is happening lmao.

Inevitably, when bridge and highway protests happen, someone pulls up a report (original article) about an ambulance or organ transplant that couldn’t get through. These seem like, and maybe are, genuine concerns but I want to highlight three things:
1. Protestors often let ambulances through.
2. The purpose of protest is to disrupt. And I don’t just mean disrupt traffic or even civil norms, I also mean power and narratives of power.
What happens when, in our minds, we hold a kidney transplant speeding down a road in San Francisco alongside the 117 health facilities (21 hospitals, 41 ambulances, 53 clinics) that Israel has targeted as of the 15th, in addition to not only ceasing electricity but preventing the pittance of fuel let through the Rafah crossing from going to hospitals or sewage or water, while laying siege on numerous hospitals, shooting anyone who leaves those hospitals, bombing medicine stores and water lines into hospitals, deploying white phosphorus, in addition to leveling entire neighborhoods? Rendering the medical system as merely first-aid? Intentionally generating a sewage crisis to foment a public health disaster? All of this in an ongoing pandemic during which Israel denied vaccines to Palestinians?
What happens when we say: in this metropole, in this heart of empire, my life is no more valuable than a Palestinian’s? A life-saving treatment, the protection of an incubator, the expediancy with which I am served, the rare and precious donated organ is the right of all? That urgency is a luxury the West manufactures and ringfences for itself? That moralistic appeals to the disabled and the ill and those who love us should always, in the same breath, apply to Palestinians?
3. And so, rather than this meaning “it’s OK if an American dies from lack of care due to this action,” we are being asked to consider what power means, and who holds it: these disruptions, if and when they actually happen, demonstrate that the power to make it stop does not lie with protestors. Even if they throw their keys off the bridge. The power to make it stop lies with the US government. It can stop this—all of this, since we have established that an American life has an equal right to existance as a Palestinian’s—if it calls for a ceasefire. It can stop this if it divests from the murder machine that is both itself and Israel.

zhao and ik finally come back and lucifer js loses all sense of formality and literally runs and hugs them SO tightly. they r all sleeping in one bed tonight u can’t stop him. they will have scheduled family activities sometime 😤 lucifer is basically like a dejected bird on the floor when they’re gone u have to understand. he’s a dad to a little child. ik will always be his little child. he’s insane.
(nightbringer lucifer saw the ring of light and he takes like an entire hour just to work again bc HE GOT MARRIED???? but damn nb luci is gonna be real sad when ik and zhao leave)
he would deflate into an exhausted sort of puddle for at least one week, if not longer, and the image it has conjured up is so vivid that i need to draw him being pathetic and sad now hang on
Tumblr media
satan can't even make fun of him for it because he just feels bad for his incredibly stressed big brother. meanwhile lucifer calls in every single sick day he's ignored over the years in a row and WILL be in the same room as his husband and/or child at any given moment
i feel like zhao would've tried to hide the whole thing with the ring of light, but lucifer KNOWS that that's the wedding ring finger, and he most certainly knows the ring of light when he sees it. it'd be funny if he assumes at first that it's michael who apparently proposed to a human, since as far as he knows that's where the ring was
also ouuu... exchanging one sad miserable lucifer for another one. there's no coming out of this nightbringer situation with all parties happy... awfully cruel for nb lucifer to put zhao and ik in his life, knowing he'd never want to let go, but forcing him to do so anyway

me: overanalyzes everyone's intentions, face-expressions, minute movements and emotions
me, later: why am I so tired after every social interaction. anyway let's analyze again just what transpired
me on another day: but what if... everyone else isn't overanalyzing everything? What if I'm weird for doing this? What if this is actually a trauma symptom and other people don't even know this reality of a person paying extensive attention to them only to figure out if they're a danger, presently or otherwise?
me:.... but what else do they do then. relax?? FEEL SAFE?? Ugh. Unthinkable. I have to analyze the danger or I will not survive. I don't know what is up with everyone else.

a while back my mom discovered that the owner of the company was stealing basically all of the money that he was supposed to submit for things like 'taxes' and 'health insurance' and 'court-mandated payments' for the employees, listing them on the pay stubs but then pocketing the money to help keep the company afloat
she then made sure that everybody in the company knew, submitted her resignation effective immediately, and spent about the next week calling government offices to report every crime, regulatory violation, and breach of employment contract that she could think of. and now it looks like the series of investigations that she kicked off might be the thing that finally destroys this man's company.
sometimes I'm proud of her

if any of you are still feeling weird about that infamous interview, here is what alex said about it (and why that ashley girl doesn't like him). i really want to point out that what alex says here is the exact same thing us, miles fans have been saying since forever. so, if you are a fan of alex, but throw shit at miles, just remember that your favourite also supports him. and maybe think twice before starting arguments with miles fans and keep in mind that alex has the same opinion about it all.
Alongside Arctic Monkeys, Turner has a long-term side-project called The Last Shadow Puppets with his best friend, the Birkenhead singer-songwriter Miles Kane. During the promotion for their last album, the two did an interview with a female journalist from the music webzine Spin. Turner was being his usual unforthcoming self, so Kane attempted to break the ice with some groan-inducing banter. This included inviting the journalist up to his hotel room when she asked what he was doing after the interview, which, in hindsight, was pretty stupid (he realised as much the next day and emailed her to say sorry). The result, though, was a lengthy op-ed calling out Kane’s unprofessionalism and the misogyny of the music industry at large. Personally, I found some of her complaints against him a tad flimsy — holding eye contact for too long, high-fiving her, “yanking” her in “for a not entirely consensual kiss on the cheek” as she said goodbye, and not least the idea that interviewing a rock star is ever supposed to be an exercise in professionalism. What did Turner make of it all? He sighs. “I think he made a joke he shouldn’t have made and realised he had misjudged the situation.” I thought it was a bit OTT, I tell him. “Yeah, I’m not sure it was deserving of that response honestly, but you just can’t make a joke like that.”
(from 2018, this interview)

there are a lot of goyim esp from other Marginalised backgrounds that are taking the wrong lessons away from the fact that it turns out that a group of primarily socialist/communist people from an extremely oppressed cultural group with deep ties to an area are in fact more than capable of founding a regional settler colonial ethnostate in that area, a state that was capable of the mass dislocation and then intergenerational imprisonment of hundreds of thousands and then millions of people, and that while many non Jews feel morally pure and free of this ideology, the reality of the situation should terrify everyone

Honestly, I made that joke about Van’s ancient desktop, but it probably works better than new computers. And it made me think: god, Van must HATE planned obsolescence. Stuff that’s built to die? Stuff that’s built to fall apart in a matter of years just to force you to buy more? For a person whose whole deal is gripping tight to the past, to old technology that still works perfectly fine, to the idea of survival threaded through everything from the stories she tells to the machines she rents out? Yeah, dude. No wonder she hates her cell phone. Not only does it force the illusion of connection without actually granting intimacy, but it’s doomed from the minute you take the thing out of the box. For Van, the very idea has got to be offensive.

Had the single most uncomfortable conversation with my manager today.
He set a meeting for a follow up on my performance review so I was little worried going in but figured it was just a question or work thing to discuss.
But then I get in there and he says it’s a personal thing and starts telling me about the company can monitor all our computer usage . And I panicked. Because I am absolutely not a good little worker and spend more time than I’m sure is acceptable doing non work things on my computer. Including shit like Reddit (and researching vacations and a lot of financial and life admin tasks too). So I had a brief terrifying moment where I thought for sure I was getting fired.
And then he kept going about how they monitor for certain keywords and one of those is anything to do with abusive relationships.
And because I google the shit out of every doubt I’ve ever had about anything in my life I had looked up signs of emotionally abusive relationships. When I did I found that the boy was not in fact doing any of the things listed and in fact was more often than not doing the direct opposite. But of course then I broke up with him last Friday
And so my manager goes on to ask me if I’m okay and if I need anything and over been so unprepared to have a conversation in my life. Just went full deer in the headlights. I think I muttered something about it being proactive research and everything was fine and nothing acute and I wasn’t in any danger. But it had to be wildly unconvincing. But also how the hell is anyone supposed to respond to that??
Like we all know that the company can monitor our usage but it’s still vary jarring to be told about and surprise deeply personal conversations are nobody’s forte. But also how is that supposed to help anyone?? I can’t imagine a scenario where a surprise meeting like that could result in anyone actually reaching out for help. Certainly not in that moment and I feel like it could even make someone less likely to utilize company resources for an issue like that knowing it might get back to their manager.
And like my manager is nice and generally a good manager but I just cannot imagine a scenario where going to him about a relationship problem would feel like a good idea.
He’s a supportive person but even so it felt very much so like, this got flagged by the company so I’m having the required conversation about it, and it did leave me feeling vaguely like I was in trouble.
And then there’s the worst case scenario where someone isn’t safe to look up say hotlines or resources at home or on their own phone and now they’re scared to do it at work too.
I just can’t imagine a scenario where a clearly company mandated meeting trigger by a word search leads to someone reaching out to work for support.
So anyway that was my overwhelming day
